A great Restaurant for a romantic getaway, for a special occasion and for a delicious meal. We had the chicken Philistine and the 35 day aged rib eye steak with polenta and veggies.

For starters they brought out a loaf of bread with garlic oil on the side. For an appetizer we had the crab mocktail. Our main dishes we had the ribeye and filet. Both dishes came with the same mashed potatoes and lightly grilled zucchini. We both ordered medium. It didn't take too long to bring out all our food, and everything tasted okay. The pricing was alright, if the food was more than "okay". Our crab mocktail was basically dry lump crab meat with an abundance of celery and avocado. Lots of avovado actually. It reminded me of a chunky crab guacamole. It did taste okay, especially with the balsamic reduction. Still, I don't get the "mocktail" part? My wife's filet came out medium well, we informed the waitress who asked us to cut down the middle of it to show her. She said that's how we do medium (brown outside and light pink inside). Weird because my ribeye was pink all the way through? Another gripe is thw amount of silver skin on my ribeye. I know they age their meat, but it seems like it is usda select? Would we come here again? Probably not.

Hands down the best service i've experienced here in Lacey! Nothing beats warm, hospitable, generous servers and owners who take pride in their establishment and serve delicious food! Since we made reservations for an anniversary, we were promptly served chilled champagne as soon as we were seated. We started with Ricardo clams (we were not supposed to ask how they were prepared - just to trust them) and the appy platter. Awesome cheese, scrumptious clams and sauce and delicious warm and soft sourdough bread. We went all out for dinner with the tomahawk prime rib steak for 2. It was prepared perfectly and was so well seasoned. Not to mention that their green beans were prepared in duck fat and their mac and cheese with just delicious - gotta love the crispy crunchy edges! A trifecta of mini desserts ended our meal - the tiramisu was my favorite hands down. And the whole meal was balanced with a lovely bottle of pinot noir that our server let breathe so we could have it in time with our apps. Food was solid and the service made the evening even more memorable. I would come back to Ricardo's in a heartbeat!

So to start, I have never posted a yelp review before. I am not a difficult person to please food-wise, I'll try anything, but I will not be returning here. When we arrived at 7:00pm, the parking lot was absolutely packed, yet the restaurant was nearly empty (the servers outnumbered the guests). We were sat quickly, as we had a reservation. The waiter, a young boy of no more than 20, quickly took our order and I immediately got the impression that we were not welcomed there. We were not dressed in sweats and hoodies, but were not wearing button down shirts with $100 bills hanging out of the pockets. He rushed us to take our order. I was the only one of the three of us to get an appetizer. I chose the prawn and carb bisque, their "signature." Mistake number one. The bowl seared my finger tips, and expected a wonderfully hot bisque on a terribly rainy day. What I got was a luke warm bowl of what looked like baby food, and that's being nice. Mistake number two: the waiter suggested the beef and bacon pasta, which was horrendous. The meat (which reminded me of something from Taco Bell, except worse) was so dry it was crunchy. There was what seemed to be an entire bottle of pepper poured over it, probably to hide the terrible taste of the other "items" in the dish. My husband ordered carbonara, which looked like cat food. My father ordered just plain pasta and red sauce, which looked like Ragu. The only redeeming quality of the food was the bread. The waiter rushed our meal and even tried to take my husband's plate away before he was done. To top it off, the waiter was extremely short with us, cleared our table like it was on fire, and handed us the check without asking if we were finished or wanted dessert. Actually, as he handed us the check he said, "We have a dessert menu, I don't know if you're interested..." The answer was after that experience, no, we were not. I have honestly never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant. I have lived in Europe, the East Coast, and the West, and been to many different restaurants literally in different countries and states and never have I felt like this. Needless to say, we will not be returning. So, in conclusion, extremely over priced for what you get, terrible service, and even worse food. Do yourself a favor, and drive the 20 minutes to Yelm's La Gitana, at least the pizza is good!

Deceiving from the outside. Came into Washington from New York. Had a New York strip with lobster tail. Very well prepared. The young man serving us was as professional and personable as you can get. Well worth the stop. Pricing was average for such a good meal. Atmosphere was great. I will definitely go back.

Great service, and great food! The ribeye steak is was very flavorful and one of the best steaks I've ever had. And I've been to tons of steakhouses. The chocolate soufflé (probably didn't spell that right) is amazing as well. Stop by this place if you're in town!

  • William H.

The fresh bread was soft and delicious. The olive oil was infused with basil and garlic. Together, they made a nice start to the meal. The halibut from the specials was cooked nicely and had a nice light flavor. The black rice was ok and the asparagus was perfectly grilled. We will try it again. We heard from our server that they will be moving.

Overpriced. Does not serve spaghetti. Does not offer red sauce. Does not have meatballs. For real? Seems a little pretentious if you ask me. Maybe a good atmosphere for a fancy date, but it's certainly not a place I would frequent.

As I have given a lot of 5-star reviews during my trip to Washington State, I came into Ricardo's with a critical eye hoping to find any reason to knock a star out of my rating - I could not find a single one. First star - Our waiter was so knowledgeable. We were a party of six and asked probably two questions each. He didn't even hesitate. He knew how the food was prepared, what seasoning and spices were included in that preparation, portion size, recommendations on pairings, and how each item was aquired by the restaurant. Second star - The prawn and crab bisque. It was incredible. It was so rich in flavor but light, smooth and perfectly seasoned. Absolutely delicious when served with a side of bread. Order it and I promise you won't be disappointed. Third star - Their dinner menu. Each member of our party purchased a different entree and we all swapped to try everything. Their homemade pasta is incorporated into several dishes and it's fantastic. The wild mushroom ravioli was my favorite. Their meat is incredible. We tasted the duck and the lamb both of which were tender and flavorful. Their seafood was so fresh and delicious. The clams, shrimp, and fish were out of this world. Fourth star - Their desserts are so flavorful. We tried the soufflé, the fruit dish (I can't remember the name) and their sea salted caramel ice cream. I love, love, love ice-cream and it was the best I've ever had. Fifth star - The atmosphere is so romantic, intimate, welcoming. It's the perfect spot for a date night or a quiet dinner. We loved it because it was the perfect place to chit chat and really enjoy being together. They offer a cigar special and invite you to sit outside by the fire pit. There are string lights and comfy chairs. It's the perfect spot to sip a dessert wine or cocktail and relax. This restaurant was truly a "dining experience" and was deserving of every star of this review. You will be impressed course after course in both their service and selection. Next time I am in the area I will certainly be dining here again.

I ate here a couple of weeks ago and pulled my review after the owner complained to me through Facebook Messenger. After thinking about it, I decided that it would be unfair to other places I reviewed if I yanked the review. For brevity's sake: The blue cheese salad was overly dressed and missing the blue cheese, the steak was tough, the pasta was glued together, and the service was spotty. Was this a one-off experience? I don't know. I've had other restaurant owners contact me through Yelp and I've given them another try. Often it was a better experience the second time around.

Don't let the exterior fool you, this is a must for great food and great service. Just an all-around perfect evening.

A wonderful taste bud experience . Don't come for the ambiance come for the quality of the steaks unique vegetable presentation and excellent wine offering

We went to Ricardo's for our anniversary, last night. It was perfect. Good drinks great food and dessert. I had a blue cheese and bacon encrusted steak and the truffle Mac and cheese. We shared a mini creme brûlée. We will definitely dine here again.

Really excellent steakhouse! It is small and intimate, very old school. The food is outstanding, everything we had was cooked to perfection. If I am ever in Lacey again, I will be back for sure!

Disappointing, Waaaay below par with my previous experiences here. Met some friends for our annual pre Christmas get together. The food was good for most although my experience was not up to 5 stars as the last few experiences. The Maytag salad was supposed to have blue cheese sprinkled over it. I had one chunk about the size of a golf ball. I ordered the cheese ravioli in brown sauce and got the chicken ones with no brown sauce. And the ground chicken ravioli stuffing had a large chunk of gristle in it. The waiter was excellent but the help staff kept trying to take our plates before we were done. "Are you done with that?". Forks still on the plate moving is a good sign we are not, sweetheart Finally, please bring back the round table in the corner. The square booth one pushed up against the wall reminds me of a cheap diner. If the other 3 in our party hadn't such nice meals, I would move my previous 5 star rating to a 1.

  • Marisol F.

Very nice local place. Food was good. My husband has a rib eye steak which was very tender and delicious. If in the city of Lacey, WA this is a must try.

  • Rebecca S.

We came in without reservations to celebrate with our 5 person family. They seated us immediately and our waitress was AMAZEBALLS! We ordered steaks, which were cooked perfectly! They even went out of the way to make my daughter a cheese pizza, that was not on the menu, because she didn't want anything that was on the menu. It was a night well worth the $200 we spent there.

    (5)
  • Jenesse F.

I had the rib eye steak med rare...the steak was good but I thought it was a little dry. Broccoli was a little undercooked for my liking however, the risotto was excellent! My dinner companion had the shrimp, clams & pasta...what a great dish! Wish I had ordered that instead of a $39 steak I could have cooked myself at home!

    (3)
  • Mark E.

Had great dinner tonight. Started with the scallops and then had the filet with lobster. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the filets was very good. We ordered the dessert sampler. The tiramisu was one of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend this place!

My husband and I took his sister and her husband to Ricardo's for dinner Saturday night. It was our first time. The server was Rey she was fast, friendly and smart. The food WAS AMAZING! The Mac&Cheese is soon good! Steak cooked perfectly!

    (4)
  • Amar K.

Improperly cooked steak- x2. One was too rare, the other overdone. We complained, they failed to fix it properly. Then told is that's what medium rare should look like (it was very rare). It's a steakhouse, learn to cook steak. The clam appetizer was improperly cleaned, very sandy and gritty with a mellow taste. Oh and to top it off, some woman (owner? Another waitress?) took our menus away from us when they brought the bread out saying they didn't want to mess up the menus. We hadn't ordered yet. HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO ORDER when you take the menu out of my hand?! Literally straight out of my hand... Will not be coming back here.

What an amazing dinner! Perfect date night! Great food and great service! I made our reservation from the Ricardo page on this Yelp site a few days beforehand, and our table was ready and waiting for us when we got there. Our waiter was outstanding and very knowledgable about both the wine and food menus. While we were looking over the menu, we ordered a bottle of 2008 Medicine Creek Stagecoach red bend. It was delivered promptly and was delicious! Here's what we ordered. To start - the flatbread - It was good! Then we split a side Caesar - good as well For the main - we ordered the chateaubriand (med rare) for two, we each had the Gorgonzola polenta and the veggies. AMAZING!!!! cooked perfectly and so, SO delicious. Dessert - we shared a piece of tiramisu and ur was just the right amount of sweetness to finish the meal. Very good! We can't wait for another special occasion to visit Ricardo's again. What a great little place.

  • Heather B.

Still sitting here enjoying our dessert. Amazing atmosphere, service, and the best meal we've had in a long time. From the bread to dessert, amazing! The fresh gorgonzola in the salad was so good. I almost had to give my husband a moment alone with the steak. Already planning / finding reasons to come back out here.

My husband Ken's birthday was last month, and he was starving for a good steak. Naturally, he opted for Ricardo's, the best steaks anywhere, including Montana and Texas! They make a mean Beefeater martini too. As we readied to leave, we found out the meal was on the house. What a wonderful birthday surprise from Chef Ricardo! Thank you, Ricky! ` -Ken and Londa

The ambiance was amazing! Staff went above & beyond to make sure we were satisfied. It was romantic with the firepit outside. The steak, Mac & cheese & asparagus were heavenly! Perfect for a date night.

  • Amber M.

This is one of my husband and I absolute favorite places to go have dinner! The filet here is to die for! (Love a little goat cheese on top of mine). The bisque we had last time we were there was so delicious. The salads are great, tuna tar tar is a must! Drinks are yummy! Never have been disappointed with anything there! Great atmosphere, friendly waitresses. 5 stars for sure. Oh and I must add, if you save room for dessert, the chocolate soufflé is a must, it's like heaven... Soooooo good!

    (5)
  • Erica A.

Amazing! I had the 7oz filet topped with crab, my husband had the rack of lamb. Best steak I've had since I lived in Texas, my husband fell in love with the lamb. Service was great, good wine selection, Overall a great memorable birthday. Excited to try the rest of the menu, or even come by for just appetizers and drinks.

  • Kelli S.

I would almost consider us regulars at Ricardo's. It is always amazing! Happy hour is great and its our favorite place to get an amazing steak! Atmosphere is cozy and romantic!

    (5)
  • Shawn C.

We had a wonderful time there. The atmosphere was great. The chateaubriand for 2 was delicious. The only complaint we had was that there could have been a few more shrimp in appetizer and the lights near the front should have been dimmed. But other than that, we had a great experience And sitting outside by the fire with a bottle of wine while it was raining was a great ending to a wonderful meal.

  • Ben T.

Came here with a large group and they did a great job accommodating us. They make really fantastic cocktails. The restaurant is run by one family I believe. Not the most memorable meal but I was happy with what I ordered and the price I paid for it. I feel they do a great job here and would like to try a few more items on their menu.

    (3)
  • Jacob W.

So we tried it because it reminded us of an Italian restraint we use to visit while we lived in Europe, this place was over priced, cooked food that was below par to some of the main stream eatery, their tiramisu was store bought the lady fingers were at least a week old and the coffee was over powering. You best best would be to go to another establishment.

    (1)
  • John C.

The lobster bisque is a bit thinner than I expected, but oh, so good. Try the stuffed pork chop. Mine was great. Maybe this was a bit pricey, but the menu is online, so there were no surprises.

My family and I have been going to Ricardo's for a couple years now and we've always had a fantastic experience. The service is consistently friendly. For the food. This is a steakhouse, and so we've pretty much always gone with big hunks of meat. My dad ordered the filet Mignon and it was tender and flavorful. I consistently go with the Rib Eye (rare) and it never disappoints. I love the glaze that goes over the meat and vegetables. My sister and mother share the Tamohawk bone in steak for two and always rave about how delicious it is. It's a small, family run restaurant. We've never been there on particularly busy day since we tend to go on weeknights to avoid crowds, but it's always been great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good steak. It's kind of pricey, but for a special occasion it's not too bad. And the menu is online, so there's no reason to be surprised.

  • Megan S.

Best food in Lacey by far! I love everything about this place. The food is fantastic and consistently delicious. They use local organic food and you can tell the difference. The drinks are great, lots of wine and good mix of quality cocktails. Along with their food and drinks they have amazing service. My family and I come here for every special occasion for years and we have never left unsatisfied! I highly recommend visiting Ricardo's!

  • Jo-Nathan T.

I saw a couple of 2 and 1-star reviews and was concerned. However, I saw enough 4 and 5-star reviews to give the place a fair shot.... And I was NOT disappointed! This family owned restaurant is a true gem. Warm and cozy, great music embedded the background as you sink into the dim lit atmosphere. I ordered the filet mignon and and I literally scraped the plate! The menu also has a great variety of meat (duck, chicken, lamb... ) and pasta dishes that have me itching to come back.... And I'm sure that I will :-)

Amazing food! Worth the $$$!!! I had the Organic Duck and it was cooked to perfection!!

  • Traci W.

A friend and I met in Lacey as a half-way point between Portland and Seattle, for a girls wine tasting day and overnight trip. We had both checked out the place online and thought it looked good. We sat in the bar area and ordered 2 appetizers: a proscuitto , olive and cheese dish, and the beef biablo. Both were very good! The house french bread with olive oil/vinegar dipping sauce was delicious as well. We each had one cocktail - both wonderful. The service was excellent and the ambiance warm. Definitely recommend!

This is a steakhouse. I told them to update their name, it's actually Chef Ricardo's or Ricardo's Restaurant. It looks like a little house from the outside, with white Christmas lights still up, and the inside ambiance is rustic. You're going to pay $40 a plate for dinner there, but in my experience, it was FANTASTIC! I had the Fillet Mignon and when you talk about "melt in your mouth," this is it. The broccoli was blanched and then grilled in the mesquite smoke, and was wonderful. I chose the polenta for my starch, and it was also quite good. The service was great, though we unknowingly came in right as they were closing (oops). I didn't understand this fact until I saw a server pull the "open sign" off. We didn't feel hurried at all- the staff acted like they had all the time in the world for us. If you're looking for an amazing steak dinner, go to Ricardo's. If you're looking for mac and cheese and pizza, you won't find it here. They do make their own pasta daily, FYI. I thought the place was great.

My husband and I were recommended to try here. We were celebrating a early anniversary dinner. We were excited to try a new place. When we walked in we liked the atmosphere, I was disappointed when we were not greeted. After standing for a few minutes with out anyone acknowledging us a guy came up and asked if we had reservations. We said yes, then he asked our names and walked away. Thinking that we he would come back and seat us we proceeded to stand and wait. After he passed by multiple times I finally had to ask someone how long we would be waiting considering we had reservations. She sat us fairly quickly. Our waitress was nice, it made up for our experience before we were seated. Then we were served our food. I liked what I ordered, my husband ordered the beef and bacon. To my surprise when it came out it looked like a hamburger helper meal, it also tasted like one. For the price and service I would not return. But the atmosphere was great.

  • Elyse P.

I love this place. I love the service, I love the atmosphere, I love the food, and I loved the wine. I even love the color purple they painted the restaurant. It has a neat smoking lounge and fire in front. My boyfriend took me here on my birthday and it was a wonderful experience.

Waiter told us they use CANNED crab ! I was disappointed but the other food looked good. May or may not go back to try something else for a better experience.

First time here. Really wonderful little steakhouse. The filet Ricardo was very tender and perfectly cooked. Bernaise was flavorful and light. Friend had the crab divine and it was actually divine. You can just tell the difference between boxed and handmade pasta. Super good wine and cocktail options. Wonderful service. Definitely coming back!

  • Kate F.

The food was very good. I enjoyed my steak. We also tried the soup and a salad which were good as well. There was a big, needy table next to us who monopolized our server's time. They probably should have gotten someone else to wait on is. We kind of felt neglected. That may be a one off experience.

  • Annie M.

Went for date night with the husband. Left fairly underwhelmed. Food is way overpriced for the experience (least expensive steak on the menu was $42). We got the prime rib for two for $72... steak was flavorful and tender, but honestly only marginally better than a chain steakhouse which would have cost half the price. This was accompanied by a couple undercooked broccoli spears and a few roasted potatoes, which were good but sparse. Salads were separate, and likely the smallest $6 salads I've ever seen. Lettuce amounted to about 5 bites and Caesar was so-so. Service was friendly, but fairly slow. The server did great at updating us on expected wait times, but underestimated the wait each time. Dessert really saved the experience. The chocolate soufflé was hot and gooey, not too sweet, and the vanilla ice cream was incredible. Tasted homemade. The crème brule was also quite good, smooth, lightly sweetened, and not eggy as some can be. I'd certainly come here again for dessert and coffee, but probably not for dinner. El Gaucho in Tacoma is only slightly pricier, but is in a completely different league. Bigger portions, better food, better atmosphere, and better service. They prepare salads and desserts tableside, and they even have men in tuxedos escort you by the arm to the ladies room! Next time I want an overpriced steak I'll make the drive there for sure.

  • Laura E.

very romantic and low lit atmosphere. servers are very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. we had the Prime rib for 2, which is a valentines special they were running all week. we also had the bisque, and shrimp scampi for appetizers. the shrimp was cooked perfectly, with a nice light breading on them with a yummy creamy sauce. the crab and prawn bisque was smooth and rich in flavor. the prime rib came out as a giant chunk of meat to share with mashed potatoes and zucchini to share. the prime rib is made to order, and had the most amazing, flavorful crust that you cant stop eating. perfectly cooked to medium, as we asked. BEST PRIME RIB I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!! the drinks were original and delicious as well. we went and sat out at the fire pit after our meal, and the owner was out there chatting with people and offering cigars and drinks out at the fire pit as well. it was fantastic. we will definitely be going back again for another special event!

I'm giving my old 2-star rating a bump after our visit last night (April 2013). I'm waffling between a 4 & 5, because I think the veggies could be more interesting, but I'm definitely a renewed fan! They changed their menu and had several good looking options. We went with the ribeye steak and the veal marsala. Both were perfect and the salted caramel brownie & the souffle were dreamy. Service was excellent. Thanks Ricardo!

This was one of my favorite spot when I lived in Lacey. The food was always on point and I love the decor. It is expensive but the chef knows what he is doing and I feel if you want to pay only $20 a plate you should go to a chain restaurant instead. The staff was always so friendly. If I ever venture back to Lacey, this will be the first I will stop by for a meal.

  • Steve D.

Went there for a date night with my wife. We ordered the 72 dollar signature prime rib for two medium rare. It came out raw, not rare but refrigerator raw. This is a steak house that cannot even cook a steak to order. It wasn't like it came out medium and we were disappointed it was RAW, cold from the fridge not even cooked in a steak house. They did not charge us for the salads, but to get a raw 72 dollar steak from a steak house is disappointing. Will never go back.

Best place for a date night period. I love taking my wife out to Ricardos! Their food is absolutely amazing and you don't have to worry about all those GMO's here, the chef is incredibly talented and can make things taste good without using cheap ingredients!

  • J J.

This place is AMAZING! The food is pricey, but well worth it! They also grow their own mint, so I definitely recommend trying a Mojito. The one I got was so good! I live in Seattle, but plan to make the long drive just to eat here again! Five Stars!

My husband and I venture into this cozy local restaurant a couple times a year. The atmosphere is always quaint and friendly. This visit was for my birthday and we were not disappointed. Crab and prawn bisque very flavorful. The Filet Mignon special was awesome. Done perfectly medium rare. Not a huge fan of brussel sprouts but the carrots were good. Service has always been great. Every time we are warmly welcomed and thanked when leaving.

Our family has been coming to Ricardo's for years. We LOVE the steaks always prepared to perfection. Best steaks in Olympia and Lacey. The menu is always a new adventure with different choices according to the season. A true chef to create wonderful dishes. Thank you!. The staff if great. It's nice to see familiar faces.

what a waste of our first New Years without kids for 7 years. We usually go here when we have a date night. We usually have a great dinner. We got there and got sat. Ordered our beverages and waited. waited. Ordered our appetizer and still hadent got our drinks (one from the bar and one soda). Got our appetizer and still had not received bread (which the table after us received their drinks and bread right away), or received the soda. Finally got my drink (soda) after the appetizer was done. Ordered our food and we were very excited. Got our food and my steak was great. Had the steak with fresh crab. My husband got the pork chops. Went to take a bite of the potatoes and wow, nothing like dry, warm, plain potatoes. The broccoli was barely warm not to mention undercooked. Our waitress was very proud and telling everyone she usually works in the back cooking... but obviously loves to talk. she asked us if she could get us dessert, and mentioned that she is the one that does the dessert in house. She also mentioned she did the potatoes. We declined the dessert. gave us our check and we gave her our card... waited 20 min to get our receipt to sign, while she decided to talk to another guest that was friends of the family. Will think twice about going back again.

Best restaurant in Olympia/Lacey by a long shot. I have lived here for 14 years and me and my wife love to go out to eat. Everything I have had hear is so good! I have had plates that weren't up to our expectations but the staff here is eager to make your experience great. If you let them know they will be more than happy to fix it for you. Give them a chance to fix it rather than complain about it after the fact!

Took the wife here for date night since I have heard good things about the place. I have also heard it can be hit or miss sometimes. This time was a miss for us. My wife had the duck and I had the pork chops. Food was just ok. I would expect more for $120. The service was great on the positive side.

Overrated!; disorganized staff, unsanitary, sloppy, dusty atmosphere, over priced, mediocre food for the raved about preparation techniques of meat and fish, long wait while watching the indistinguishable employees parade in and out of the kitchen carrying empty trays and a baby?! This place is in dire need of a Restaurant Impossible save if it values customers not related to the arrogant chef, or that aren't hypnotized by the small town "family style" low standards of dining. Robert Irvine help this mess! foodnetwork.com/restaura…

Wifey and Daughter took me there for my birthday, as our first visit to Ricardos. The service was average, considering the # of servers outnumbered the # of patrons. The portions were much smaller than I would expect considering the high prices. The food was good, but not worth the $$. I can go to Basilico or even Olive Garden and get my moneys worth. Not here though. At least we can say we've been, since we do live in the neighborhood.

Lot of tendons in the porter for two. Slow service at first, but improved slightly after a waitress spilled wine while walking next to us. Not thrilled with the beer selection. The French onion soup was too peppery and the croutons were hard. The seafood bisque good but cold. For the cost it was not worth it, we were quite disappointed sadly. *PLZ NOTE: this review was based on a meal in Feb 2012. I've been informed the cut of meat we had and the french onion are no longer available. I'm looking forward to giving Ricardo's another chance, there's lots of potential here

I had a very disappointing dinner New Years Eve. My husband and I both ordered the $28 filet . His was fine mine was cut from another type of steak. The plate was sparse with one broccoli spear and a few roasted potatoes thrown around. Service was not friendly. I expected a much better experience.

I am brand new to the area and Ricardo's was the first place that popped up after searching "steakhouse in Lacy". Both owners (a couple) worked the entire time I was there, and both checked on my numerous times throughout the evening. It was obvious that they are very personable people, and know their customers personally. Half the customers that walked through the door were greeted by a hug from Marie, and her husband beamed as he told others about his recent vacation. I ordered the 9 ounce filet, medium rare, with grilled potatoes. The steak was a tad dry (I AM being really picky, though...it was delicious!), but it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The cheesecake was delicious, too! I'd give the meal an 8 out of 10, overall. The prices of the steaks ranged from the $20s up to the $70s, but I believe the more expensive steaks were advertised as "for two". Again, the steak is likely one of the best in the area, and the service HAS to be the best! It's obvious that the two are passionate about their restaurant. My wife and I will definitely be back!! I'd really like to give them a 4.5/5, but it's not an option. I LOVE the passion the couple has for their restaurant, so I'm rounding up. :)

Had a great meal for our anniversary dinner. The food was tasty and very flavorful. The owner was gracious with wine and made the evening delightful for us. Will go back again and again.

Great food, LOVE the ambiance! The way they decorated the ceiling with old wine bottles--very cool! Looks can be deceiving; it doesn't look like much from the outside, but walk in and you'll love it. Easily spent $100 for 3 people

I should have order something else. I ordered the Pomodoro. The Tagliatelle pasta was over cooked which lead to it sticking into one big huge pasta ball. Not a big fan of that. The sauce that accompanied it was very tasty though. Fresh crushed tomatoes garlic and organic basil. Simple yet perfect. I ordered their house Riesling which was ok also. Then again it's a house wine so no huge expectations there. I checked in from Yelp! and we received a free appetizer of our choice. We decided to go with Chef Ricardo Platter which had two kinds of meat, cheese, bread, olives and lightly sauteed spinach. A sort of Antipasto appetizer. It was really good. We also order the Seafood Ricardo, which had the same pasta and it did not look like mine so I knew they over cooked my pasta. That dish had shrimp crab calamari in a lemon olive oil caper and garlic sauce. Another Dish that was order was the Organic Duck. Which was tasty and just a tad too salty for out taste but good at the same time. The next time I go I will order their steak because that is what they are known for. The atmosphere is very romantic and pretty so that is a plus.

I like Ricardo's. It's likely the best steakhouse in Olympia. The decor is a bit odd, especially the Michael Jackson silhouette's on their menus. It's a quirky little lavender colored house, but the food is quite good and of a consistent quality. Menu items are varied and not of any particular genre. They have an excellent selection of dry aged steaks. They make good usage of local and seasonal ingredients. They have tasty wines and I've discovered a few new favorites by perusing the wine list. The desserts could use some sprucing up but overall it's a very good dining experience that I would recommend to anyone.

I'll say upfront that they have a decent happy hour menu with drink specials and appetizers and the following does not necessarily apply. However. As a fine-dining italian restaurant, it fails. The food is inconsistent at best, overpriced for what you get (not serving size; quality), and I'm sorry to say, unoriginal. If you're going to do a classic chicken picatta, it had better not fail in tasting like chicken picatta (the sauce was as thin as pasta water... in fact, I think that it what it was- with a splash of lemon). Spouse's '18-hour' ribs were not flavorful OR tender. We couldn't imagine any 18-hour cooking process that did not include 16 hours in the fridge. The wine list is not very deep, and they are frequently out of wines on the list. I believe they only had one Chianti on the list. At an Italian restaurant, I expect to see a couple at a couple different price points. To be fair, the food can be good, but at $20-$40 per entrée, you had better be consistent. The service is spotty and can be downright bad. The ambiance is ... a little disjointed. They tried, but the overall effect is not impressive. We have been several times because Ricardo's is (I joke) the fanciest restaurant in Lacey. But I think we are done over-paying for food we don't really enjoy.

If you've ever lived in Lacey/Oly and driven by a purplish house on Lacey Blvd, you need to turn around and go inside. Ricardo's is a lovely little place that serves up well-aged beef steaks, delicious seafood, and pasta to die for. I have only gone twice, but both times I leave both stuffed and euphoric. The salmon is perfectly garnished and the potatoes are unbelievable. Any and every steak I have snuck pieces off of from my companions has been exactly as ordered. The lobster bisque is simply heavenly, and their warm-up bread has me grabbing for it like a fiend. Heck, even their ice water somehow tastes better. HOW ARE THEY DOING THIS? Pricey, but not overpriced for what you are getting. Stop in for sure. My one warning is that the parking is...awkward to negotiate in anything larger than my Honda Civic.

Decent food but nothing to rave about. Service was very good, our waitress was pleasant and happy to serve us and answer our questions. If you want a quiet, romantic dinner at a small restaurant, then this is the place.

Wonderful food in a romantic setting. It is always a challenge to find people who care about quality more than profit. Yes, it is expensive but most of the meat is organic and local. If you can't afford it I would highly recommend sitting in the bar and having a couple happy hour appetizers which are also delicious. I have enjoyed many birthday and anniversary dinners here. Open for lunch on Friday's also. Thank you guys for real food and a friendly, relaxing place to eat it.

I have always enjoyed Ricardo's since I started going soon after it opened. It's been nice to see the restaurant evolve over the years. I recently went with some friends (it had been awhile) and was reminded anew how fantastic it is. I had the Chicken Royce and it was delicious. It was even excellent the next day for lunch. The bread with garlic oil was wonderful. The wine selection and help finding one was greatly appreciated. I will be sure to get back to Ricardo's much more frequently. I really wanted to use their Wood Fired Pizza catering option for a party because I've heard fantastic things about it. The timing wasn't ideal for the restaurant but Rick was wonderful to work with and was willing to do whatever it took to make it happen for my party. While it didn't work out on my end, I was impressed with the willingness to coordinate on their end and with the options. Pizza, salad, quality sodas, what a great idea for a party. I hope to use this option sometime in the future. This is one of the few gems for dining in Lacey. Take advantage of their coupons and check it out. You won't be sorry!

I've given this three stars, but I'm definitely willing to upgrade it. My visit was not up to what I was anticipating, but now that I've tried it, I'll go with a different mindset as to what I'll order. I ordered the Cippino, and was fairly disappointed. The menu lists clams, calamari, shrimp, and crab. There was a ton of calamari, some shrimp and clams, and no crab at all. I understand that some of this may have been or not been in season, but if that's the case maybe the Cippino should be a seasonal dish. It tasted pretty good, but a ton of somewhat overcooked calamari didn't do it any favors. The Caesar salad was good with authentic dressing. My Wife ordered veal parm which was disappointing to say the least. The breading was salty, weird tasting, and soggy. The meat was so overdone, it completely defeated the purpose of getting a veal dish. It was hard. (I guess that's what she gets for eating babies). The pasta was pretty okay she reported. Her French Onion soup was good, but a little spendy for the little bowl she received. As I said, I'm planning on making another trip here. I think when my birthday rolls around, or Valentine's day or some other occasion, I'd like to come in for a steak. It seems to be their specialty, and I love a good steak, so I'll report again when I try it again.

Went to Ricardo's for the first time. Was pleasantly surprised by ambiance and atmosphere inside - doesn't look like much from the outside, but everything was great from the moment you step in. We had a steak and duck - both dishes were excellent - highliy recommend!

My husband and I drive by this place all the time and finally decided to have dinner here. It is rather odd to have fine dining to paired with a tiny purple house...and I still don't get the Micheal Jackson silhouette on the menu...what was that about? The only negative I have about the food itself was our appetizer of sauteed calamari (which I usually love in any form) but this was awful. It was almost cold by the time it got to us and the sauce was just awful. My husband joked that perhaps this is the way it was intended but we didn't have the sophisticated palate required. If that calamari is where a "sophisticated palate" leads, count me out. From here it wasn't the food but the service that irked me. I am a great tipper. I spent 2 months as a server in college and have tipped at least 20-25% ever since, sometimes up to 50% if the service is fantastic. I also take mistakes and forgetfulness in stride since I was without a doubt the worst waitress ever. That being said, I ordered a steak with roasted potatoes and asked what their "medium" looks like. I explained that I like it pink throughout with red in the center and she said that is certainly their medium. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin, raw as possible, with mashed potatoes. When the meals came out, our potatoes were switched but so were our instructions. My steak was red even on the outside and his pork was cooked medium. I asked if she could put mine back on the grill and when she brought it back suggested that next time I order, I should order medium instead of rare. That really ticked me off but I politely explained that I had and that she had cooked my husbands' medium when he requested rare and that the order had been switched. I thought that was the end of it. Even when cooked correctly, it wasn't the best I've ever had. It wasn't bad, just not the aged masterpiece they tout. But my husband said his pork was delicious and when he praised it to the waitress at the end of the meal, she then turned to me and AGAIN told me that I had ordered my steak wrong and if I wanted it pink then next time to order Medium. I then realized that she was not listening to anything I said when I spoke, not even the first time when I described the way I wanted my steak. I still tipped extremely well and we did have a nice quiet dinner but I won't be going there again until my husband requests it. There is nothing more grating that being told your order being taken or cooked incorrectly was your fault. Twice.

The first few times we went we were impressed with their steaks. Their chocolate souffle was delicious and the wine list not bad. The service has never been stellar but we dealt with it because we enjoyed their steaks. Sadly over the past 4 months the quality in their food has gone downhill. The last 2 times we went both the service and food were just mediocre. It's not worth going for the price nor hype. We have no plans of returning anytime soon.

A garishly painted house on the side of a busy road? I would have never gone in without the suggestion from friends, and I'm immensely glad I now know of Ricardo's existence. Our food was delicious and expertly prepared (beef dishes are their specialty), and our waitress was friendly, prompt, patient with my indecisiveness, and highly knowledgeable about seasonal availability of ingredients. Altogether, a very enjoyable dining experience, although minus one star for entrees being just a little off on the quantity : price ratio. To top off a great meal, why not have some Olympic Mountain Ice Cream?

been very up and down over the years. the one thing that does not change is that the food is under seasoned. about two years ago Richardo took over the front of the house which was a big mistake as he has no talent at it. about a year ago the menu was revamped for the worse. So far as value goes forget about it. Reasonable service is possible but not likely. dont even think about the bar drinks as they suck and are massively over priced . Wines are now over priced. Food is decent.

I thought long and hard about where to go for Christmas Eve dinner - especially since we had been snowed in last year. I went to Ricardo's with high expectations - based on the positive experiences I've had in the past (last one over a year ago) and the nice reviews they're getting here. My kids wanted to know why their caeser dressing is brown. I thought I'd raised my kids well enough for them to know that caeser has anchovies in it... but this dressing was fishier than most. It was better with a little lemon squeezed over it, but not as fantastic as I remember. Everyone at my table quite liked their entrees but mine was disappointing. I had ordered it at the waiter's recommendation - pollo ricardo. I don't usually get chicken at restaurants, but I was wooed by the blue cheese & walnut sauce. The meal consisted of mesquite-grilled chicken breast (lots of it!) atop mashed potatoes and a little steamed spinach. The sauce was a LUKEWARM, FLAVORLESS BECHAMEL! With miniscule cheese crumbles and 3 or 4 walnut halves. We ordered four of their mini-desserts to share. The chocolate souffle is pretty good, but the cobbler tasted like fish. I know, right? Fish! I enjoyed what I believed was a nice cup of decaf with dessert. However, when I was still wide awake for the end of It's a Wonderful Life at 11:30, and tossing and turning until 2:30, I knew that it was not. I think I'm gonna call and get my tip back. Seriously - 30 bucks to lay awake on Christmas Eve? Bah humbug.

This was my second visit to Ricardo's. I'm a bit surprised by the negative reviews because my two experiences have been WONDERFUL. I had a different server from the first time and while my previous server was exceptional, this server was great as well. Both times we went to Ricardo's I've ordered steak. They have excellent quality steaks that are quite affordable ($22-$37.) First, I tried the Filet Mignon while the other night I tried the Rib Eye. Both steaks were incredible. Great flavor and tender. Someone asked me today how the steaks compare with the Outback Restaurant. Ricardo's wins hands down - I think it must be a better quality of beef. The downside to Ricardo's is that it is a smaller restaurant and so reservations are recommended for busier nights of the week. The bar looks inviting and they seem to have a great happy hour. I want to check that out next!

Big City elegance with a small town feel! The food was exquisite and the service was even better. The atmosphere is elegant but understated and the staff is knowledgable and friendly. I have traveled to the top steakhouses coast to coast and this is as good or better than them all. Treat yourself to this culinary experience and you will not be disappointed! Highly recommended, finally a true fine dining experience in the greater Lacey area!

This place is in some kind of a time-warp/force disturbance vortex, because the inside is larger than the outside. Somehow. Not sure, but like that tourist trap in Oregon where the angles are all wrong, when you go inside it feels like a different building, both larger and smaller at the same time. The menu is complete, the service is great, and I'm looking forward to returning.

Opting to not dine at the likes of Palisade or the Dahlia Lounge in Seattle like my husband and I do almost every year for New Year's eve, we decided to give Ricardo's a chance based on the word of mouth of a couple friends who swore the food was delicious and well worth the drive to go to Lacey. I did some research and came to Yelp, took the time to read the reviews prior to going last night just to prepare myself mentally for the worst, if it came to that but kept an open mind the entire time we were there because of the word of mouth as I already have stated above. I based my final meal of 2010 around a combination of the positive reviews and the suggestions of our friends and the server. Upon our arrival at Ricardo's I was immediately thrown off by the fact that the restaurant, no kidding, was a house. According to my husband who used the restroom, it was full equipped with a shower curtain (which in all our dining experience was a first for him) but our friend informed us that what was behind the curtain was now space for storage. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation that was set for 8:30 PM and the waitress/hostess (not sure which she was) immediately appeared bothered that we were early and said she was going to go check on our table to see if it was ready. We didn't see her again until just shortly after 8:30 PM. Once seated we waited roughly 10+ minutes before our server came to our table to greet us, except it was, "What are we eating for dinner?" No inquiry as to beverage selections, appetizers, etc. When a restaurant has a specific menu for a holiday event I almost expect the server to want to go over some of the key items on their menu that they recommend. Maybe even elaborate on what comes with some of the dishes, however, this did not happen. Getting any kind of information was like pulling a loose tooth out of a 6 year olds mouth. I ordered the 7 oz. filet mignon medium-well after being told it's very tender and delicious by the server. My girl friend ordered the same but got hers medium. My husband ordered the lamb and our other friend ordered the Rib Eye but had to settled for the New York Strip once he was informed they weren't offering their regular selection of steaks that were still listed on the chalk board one the wall just beside our table. Roughly 40+ minutes later our food arrived and my mashed potatoes at most was luke warm as though they had been sitting under a heat lamp. My so-called "tender and delicious" medium-well filet mignon may as well have been branded with the Nike logo as it was chewy, dry, charred and lacking much of any flavor. I had all of 2 bites of my $29.99 7 oz. filet mignon. My husband's lamb lacked the gamey taste one comes to expect with lamb; instead the exterior was solid with an overly sugary glaze that we later came to learn from the server was due to it being soaked for days in said glaze. As a matter of fact, aside from the taste of the glaze, you wouldn't have even known it was lamb other than by the texture because the meat itself had no flavor at all. When she came by to see how everything was, we were very honest and pointed out our issues. She offered to have another filet mignon prepared for me, but then returned to inform me they were all out and made other suggestions, however, based off the other Yelp reviews I knew the chicken would be overly dry (and this was confirmed by the conversation at the booth to the left of us) and a woman to the right of us was none too pleased with her pasta dish. Therefore I settled with my garnish of mashed potatoes. By 9:28 PM it was time to order dessert; our orders for their mini desserts were placed. We were informed the crème brûlée and chocolate soufflé would take approximately 6-7 minutes, and asked if we were in a hurry. Had we known that by saying we weren't in a hurry she'd take that literal and disappear for the next 30 minutes, we probably would have said we WERE in a hurry just so we could have had our dessert. At this point I'd had enough and went to go seek out the sever to see why it was taking so long to make MINI desserts. I don't know if she forgot to put the order in or what, but the lack of communication from her to the table was thoroughly unacceptable. Another 5-10 minutes went by and instead of desserts (keep in mind I didn't cancel our dessert order) we were presented with the bill. She took 50% off mine and my husband's meal. At any restaurant that was having so many issues back to back; they would have taken my meal off the check all together. Had I known I would be charged $15 for garnish I would have settled for mashed potatoes from KFC. Bottom line, we will NOT be returning and we WILL be sure to advise any of our friends and family to go elsewhere.

We were looking for a semi private place to have a wedding ceremony in Lacey and someone suggested Ricardo's restaurant. I had seen the website as well and thought it looked like a good option. I visited the restaurant at lunch time prior to our actually reservation to see what it was like and determined that it would work. I talked to "Ricky" the chef about our plans and he was very accommodating but also upfront that he couldn't guarantee that we would have the separate small dining room to ourselves but could set up a privacy screen if needed. There were five of us that were to meet for the ceremony. When I arrived the screen was set up with a tray in front of it with votive candles which gave a nice ambiance. There was another large table of five or more set up in the room but it wasn't a problem at all. Our wedding officiant was already there and my husband arrived with our sons (witnesses) later. The two of us (the officiant and I) ordered appetizers while we waited for the other three to arrive. I ordered caprese salad and he ordered clams. The caprese salad was very good and nicely displayed. The clams took longer but had a very good flavor. Bread was offered and brought freely. When the others arrived we wanted to try to Skype with my husband's daughter who is out of the country. The server gave us the password to their wi-fi to do that. We were left to do what we came to do without interruption but were also able to find assistance when needed. After the ceremony the officiant left and the four of us ordered dinner and drinks. We ordered champagne which the server was very helpful in making the decision for. I ordered the 5 oz filet which was awesome! Cooked perfectly (medium rare) and extremely tender with great flavor. My husband ordered the small New York which was a little disappointing. In order to make it "small" it is cut very thin so it has a large presence on the plate. Not a good cut for medium rare so not cooked to the perfection of my filet. Good flavor but not what was expected. Our sons both ordered pasta and seemed satisfied. Dessert was mixed. I ordered the tiramsu. They were out of the full size so I was offered two of the minis which I took. Unfortunately, I thought they were highly disappointing. Not fresh and not a great flavor. My husband ordered cheesecake which came with fruit (I forget what kind) but it was unimpressive as well. His son ordered the chocolate souffle which was my first inclination. I tried it and it was wonderful!! It also came with a bowl of vanilla ice cream. When the bill came they gave us a discount for our wedding which was totally unexpected! Overall, the food was good but a little mixed, price was decent (even before the discount) and the service was wonderful. Very accommodating for a special occasion. Would have rated it five stars if the desserts would have been better :-)

Ricardo's was ok.... the food was excellent, and they are known for their steaks, but the service was unacceptable. The waitress, (there was only 2 people working the whole place) said that they had just gotten slammed and it just cleared out. So we thought, great, now we'll have excellent service. Nope, we were wrong. I guess she still had a party of 8 in the other room and so was never around for us. Service was terrible, my water was never filled and it took us about 2 to 3 hours for dinner, when it could have easily been there for under 2 hrs, service was slooooow! Also, the waitress forgot our appetizers so she came and was honest and said she forgot to order it, so we had a few bites of our appetizer and our dinners were already put in front of us... not good. The food.... amazing! We both had steaks and I had the Mediterranean topping on mine which was like a bruschetta, diced tomatoes in a vinaigrette and it was delicious!! I'm glad a friend suggested it. We would def go back again, but in hopes of next time getting better service. The desserts were ok... nothing special.

We liked it... Went in Sunday night before Valentines day. Its definitely a steak kind of place. Although the pasta looked good also. Not exactly on the budget side of things but good steak never is. We had the porterhouse for two, and it was enough for both of us with out a problem. The appetizer we had was good also, caprese salad. Like the atmosphere also, cozy and lighting is just right. Not too dark, not too bright. We will probably find ourselves here again on a date night.

My wife and I ate there Sunday night as combination Anniversary/Valentine's Day/her birthday celebration. Words can't describe how good it was. We started with the prawns and pancetta appetizer and it was soooo good. If you are from the South, it would be perfect for shrimp & grits. We then had the crab and prawn bisque. The waiter then told us Chef Ricardo had heard us trying to decide on a salad or soup and sent over a small complementary Marie's salad to go with our soup. Then to the main course. My wife had the filet and I had the strip steak. Both were cooked exactly as ordered and were delicious. Even though we were stuffed, we had dessert. You only do one celebration like this per year so why not. I had the Chocolate (not) souffle with ice cream. It's similar to a chocolate lava cake. My wife had teh trilogy which was small servings of three of their desserts. Tiramisu and caramel brulee were excellent. Only downfall was the pistachio roca candy which was a little too chewy and sticky. She was afraid it would pull a filling out of her tooth. All in all, a wonderful meal. Service was excellent and very attentive.

On the three visits this place has been excellant on two and disappointing on one when it was over-crowded and didn't adjust well. The food is excellant and the wine list appropriate and they can even share their taste of their own food and wine - meaning you can ask questions and get informed answers. We picked up a wonderful bottle of red from Medicine Creek winery which is made by a local dentist and hard to come by but worth it if you can find it. There is a nice ambience, small tables, table clothes, flowers, etc. The crab cakes were great and the steak was good although I often go more traditional in the italian sense which they do well, such as the veal piccata and the veal marsala.

My partner and I have eaten at Ricardo's many times and have always been happy, whether it is happy hour, brunch or dinner. But this Thanksgiving we decided to give them a try and where blown away. The Cesar dressing was just the right amount of lemony garlicy goodness without too much dressing on the greens. The beer selection was small and oh so special. We had the turkey/ham and duck dinners that were moist, flavorful, piping hot and laid with much love over divine mashed sweet/white potatoes. The duck was served with a creamy corn you swore came right off the cob while the turkey and ham came with green been comfit that also tasted like it was barely off the vine. The service was excellent and cheerful, just as we all hope from our holiday companions. We will definitely go there next year and several more times in between.

Don't waste your time or money. We went there based off of the positive reviews on Yelp. I didn't bother to read WHEN they were written though. Perhaps management changed? Or the staff? I don't know. The service was horrible! The food was less than average. I called ahead and was told that there was plenty of availability and reservations weren't necessary. 10 minutes later we arrived and were seated a the smallest table in the room! We almost left, but wanted to give the food a try... bad decision.

thought I would give it another shot, since the last time was truly disappointing. Exactly 3 tables taken in the whole place including ours. In 40 minutes saw the waitress when she sat us, when she took our order and then we she placed it on the table...after finishing our meal (which we never did get our appetizer...was going to remind her but was never given the opportunity she never returned. Had the cioppino which in the past was chock full of seafood in a slightly thickened tomato sauce..this time tasted more like sweet and sour soup you get in asian restaurants! 3 prawns....6 smallclams and a sprinkling of those frozen squid rings....and what looked like a whole lemon cut for garnishment! The garnishment looked like the cook was lazy and just chunked a big piece of lemon on top of it... ..when we went to the front desk to ask for our bill....the waitress came out and we reminded her we never got the appetizer and the only thing she was concerned with was that we knew the chef didn't forget it was her. Great that she owns it....but frankly who cares.....bottom line we didn't get it.....and as I left I said to my dining mate.....this is really sad.....Ihave brought many friends here over the years and haven't at all this year because of the service and this confirmed it......they aren't busy but they arent' hungry for business if this had become the status quo.

We visited for Ricardo's breakfast brunch this morning with my 14 and 10 year old sons, Mom, sister, and her husband. We sat outdoor on the patio which was nice, despite facing Lacey Blvd. It was a lattice-fenced front so you weren't looking at cars going by the whole time and a nice fountain created a relaxing ambience. We seemed to be the only diners on a Sun. morning at 10am, a few more straggled in closer to 11. Our server was prompt, friendly, and attentive. So their breakfast offering seems to not be too well known, though our server said some mornings are crazy busy, some dead. In any case, we perused our menu and pondered whether my nitrate-sensitive son could eat any of the meat offerings (bacon, negative, sausage, probably not, took a chance on the natural ham from a local source). Coffee was very good and served in gigantic cups. I ordered Dad's Favorite Omelette, which was served with home fries and bread w/various jam/butter options. The omelette was very good, but pricey at $9.99, and I think they could have been a bit more generous with the homefries. A little too cheesy for my taste, but fluffy and well-seasoned. My youngest ordered Sausage Biscuits & Gravy, which surprisingly, contained no biscuits. It was served over their french bread instead, which seemed a bit like false advertising. When one orders biscuits & gravy, I think there's an expectation of biscuits. But anyway, he liked it luckily. My sister ordered the Veggie Frittata which also featured sausage. The plate was swimming in oil or butter and had some type of sour cream sauce in addition to cheese. A bit of overkill we thought. Her husband had the Black Cod something which he said was very good. My mom had the Wild Huckleberry French Toast, which she also liked. We had 3 coffees, 1 hot tea, and two juices, plus an entree each. Our bill was about $84.00 and we noticed they didn't charge for one of the juices for some reason. That was nice but it still seemed a bit expensive considering we did not indulge in any morning cocktails, lattes, etc. that usually contribute to that kind of bill. I'm used to a little more reasonably priced breakfast fare and had the portions and food been stellar, the price totally would have been justified. Perhaps that's why they don't have a consistent breakfast crowd. I would visit again, since the dinner reviews have been so good, and I do hope they make it, being one of the few locally owned restaurants in that area.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
