Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

They were so helpful! I was headed to a hotel just before the closed and they looked up the address, delayed making my pizza so it would be hot when I got there and the delivered it quickly. And the food was great to match. A really good experience.

Pizza okay not Chicago the place is small enough to sit and eat I think there business is towards deliveries which is fine
(3)Jacob H.
I stayed at the Hilton Seattle Airport and since the hotel's restaurant didn't serve lunch, a quick yelp search came upon this place for delivery. The website didn't state that a small is 10" and medium is 12". I ended up going with the small Verona's Special and a diet coke, all for $14.17. Not too bad considering my circumstances of being stuck in a hotel without a car. The food itself was pretty good. The delivery took longer than 45 mins but I can't really blame them since it was in the hotel and it was raining. All in all good place to eat and I would order here again.
(4)G S.
I've loved this place since they've opened. It's owned by a super friendly family, Daniela always is so excited and friendly and gives top notch customer service. The food is absolutely amazing and reasonably priced. In regards to other's complaints about the takeout /delivery service I've never had any complaints. My only complaint is that they don't give you appetizer bread. But that's just me being a bread slut.
(4)Larry L.
I almost was smart enough to say I changed my mind haha. Nice service but not my idea of a great pasta place :( maybe if you are hungry.
(2)Kathy J.
I placed an online order for pasta and after 30 minutes received a call telling me my office is too far away for them to deliver. Now, keep in mind that my office just received a stack of their menus last week and I placed an order for lunch that was delivered to me. It was pretty good, so I thought to order again. As if waiting 30 min. thinking my lunch is on it's way wasn't bad enough, the woman on the phone tried to tell me that I had NOT gotten a delivery from them last week. I looked up the email receipt and everything, but she said she couldn't find my phone number in their system. As if that had anything to do with anything! She asked me to fax her over the receipt, which I did, thinking this meant she would honor my current order and deliver it. She called after receiving the fax to tell me that my previous order had been for pick up, not delivery, and that they could not deliver to my address unless it was a big order, like $40 or $50. I was completely floored. At this point I really didn't want their food anyway, but she informed me that I could come pick up my current order if I wanted and that it could be ready in 20 minutes - it would be really quick. Oh sure, now that lunch is over I'll just run over and pick it up. If I had wanted to do that I would have done it in the first place. Interestingly enough, I often have to order larger meals for meetings at my office and I was going to order from them in the future. Not anymore!

I love Verona Pizza and Pasta! That being said I have only ever used the delivery service and have not once stepped foot into or by the actual location. I have never once had a complaint about their food, and have always been impressed by their portion sizes. Their delivery people are quick, courteous and unoffensive. For a family owned, non-chain restaurant I think they're worth supporting and rating five stars!
(5)Matthew G.
This is the place that we order pizza from. Tried several other places before ordering from Verona's, but now if we're in the mood for pizza it's Verona's. I've never been into the restaurant so i have no opinion that, but if you want a quality pizza delivered this place does the job. The crust is a nice mix of crisp soft and chew. They don't skimp on the toppings. Might not be the highest quality cheese but its good enough and they are generous with it.
(4)Philip L.
I found this using Yelp - while in Burien today. The menu choices of their foods are extensive and mostly based on Authentic Italian dishes. The choice to have a pizza served with 2 different styles is a huge +! The pizza I ordered - flavors of a well-made item, flavors all came together - no matter how radical of an idea to have a Greek Gyro pizza! The fettuccine alfredo....so soft! I can tell it was freshly prepared, 'cause after a certain amount of time, spaghetti and the like will start to stick to each other, due to the lack of oil to help separation. But by adding oil, it means that the prepared item will not be intended for consumption asap. Fast, friendly service! There was only 1 waitress, so no one should expect too much regarding promptness. As for overall cleanliness - one can tell the building is indeed older than the business itself, but cleanliness is up to par! Plus, having a clear view of the kitchen does help conclude this. Conclusion? Imma return and order more!

We like Verona a lot. They are open 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM every day! It is great when you get home later and want good food. Verona is always reliable with great food. Creamy tomato sauce & cream sauce also called pink sauce (the two mixed) on the pasta is my wife's favorite. Check out the Chicken Calzone with roasted red peppers, homemade pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, red onions & Parmesan. Or you can make your own. The menu is huge.
(4)Amanda S.
Since moving into the area, I've desperately been searching for a pizza place (it's possibly more important than finding a doctor, but maybe not quite so important as finding a hair stylist!). I had a lot of meh experiences and a few "well that's alright I guess" experiences. Verona is by far the best yet. The service is friendly and concerned with making you happy and the pizza is delish!
(5)Tom T.
The food here is about average. I like the fact that the pizzas are available in a small size that is perfect for one person, but they're really nothing special. The pasta is okay but not remarkable or outstanding. The salads are not bad but not memorable either. However, the service has always been very good and the staff super friendly.
(3)Susan M.
Great meatballs! Pretty good pizza. Skip the salad.
(3)David J.
Great service and good food. We will be back.
(4)Kristine D.
I really enjoyed the food here. The prices were reasonable and the food was tasty. I ordered a hot sandwich and was very happy with the flavor. the waitress was extra friendly as well and I felt very comfortable. Only downside is the place doesnt have a lot of seating.
(4)YJ ..
Very friendly but the parking is pretty bad (small)... May try something new next time but their fettuccini pomodoro is my go-to.
(4)Booji B.
Authentic Italian pizza and salads! Great for take- out or delivery. Dine-in is a bit brightly lit, but fine in a pinch for a good meal. Eggplant pizza and quatro staggionni...and really all of the pies are really good! And the salads are big and fresh!
(5)Mat M.
Verona Pizza & Pasta is a great find. I have driven by for a long time, and by using Yelp to find good pizza in Burien, I was fortunate enough to finally go in. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and beautifully uncluttered. The waitress/hostess/manager is a wonderful, authentically nice person. By the looks of things though, she may be taking some time off soon; the stork is soon to come. The pizza is delicious! The crust is perfect. I had the Verona special and I see no need to try another kind; what an array of flavors! I had an Italian salad and it was fab too. Go and enjoy a really good pizza.
(5)Matt K.
Good pizza and fantastic staff! We enjoyed a great meal and conversation with the waitress. Wish I lived in the area so I could enjoy this little gem more often!
(4)Matthew R.
This is a pretty good pizza! The dough and cheese are very good! I didn't care much for the sauce, but that's just my personal preference. It's a bit pricy in here. My large pizza with three toppings was about $22 (that's JUST the pizza, not including any drinks or sides). The driveway is a bit tough to get out of. You have to back out of your spot into another set of parking spots that is perpendicular. So, it can be dangerous if the neighboring businesses are busy. I would definitely come try a pizza because it's nothing like what you would order from a national chain! I would recommend delivery so that you don't have to park there.
(4)Kevin M.
The spaghetti marinara was not awesome but the meatballs were good. The lasagna was ok. The tiramisu was excellent.
(3)Eugene B.
I haven't patronized this place for a couple of years... and I don't know why. Their pizza is good, but moreso I'd have them deliver the salmon fettuccine... and then I have them add in prawns. Salmon fettuccine w/ prawns. Yum! Comes with a nifty salad too...and I love the honey mustard dressing. I've never eaten in...always had it delivered. Was always delivered on time, fresh, and great tasting.
(4)Jordan H.
I do love this place. I feel bad that some others have not had as good of an experience as we've had. I will say, the actual restaurant is very tiny. You are better off just ordering take-out or delivery. The family that runs the place is super nice. I have ordered their calzones, pizza, and pasta dishes and have never had one that I didn't like. This place is not a greasy hole in the wall, the food tastes fresh and not overly salty. Very good! I have been to the actual restaurant three times. Seating was cramped but staff was super nice. I've had delivery well over fifteen times and every time it's been fast and great.
(5)Otto R.
Our work recently ordered lunch from this spot. The Major plus is that they deliver. Apparently the pizzas are very good, I had the fettuccine pomadoro, It was really tasty and it was full of flavor. The side salad that it came with was your standard fare, came with a tomato slice, some olives, cheese and romaine lettuce. Next time you are in the area, make sure to check these guys out.
(4)Allison W.
terrible pizza we ordered a half and half thin crust pizza and the crust was soggy and there was no sauce what's ever on the pizza just way too much cheese. Needless to say we returned the minus the one piece pizza and got spaghetti. Which wasn't what I wanted in the first place. I won't order from them and doubt I'll go back.
(2)Mark W.
Always slow delivery, it's only gotten worse. Last time took 1-1/2 hr and was cold. Called in, they offered 1/2 off next order. Ordered a tuskany tonight (peppers, onions, feta), received a cheese and onions pizza. Not cool. Maybe if you eat in it's worth it, but don't waste your time/money on delivery.
(2)Catherine F.
Yep, four stars is about right, the other Yelpers agree. I love love love the BBQ chicken sandwich. The bread is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I don't know what kind of sauce they use, but it must be laced... LACED I tells ya! It's delicious. Half is plenty (but I'm very small) but I get a whole one so I can eat the rest later. Yum! Minus on star only because the services is hit and miss. Otherwise, nom away!
(4)Thom L.
Meatball sandwich was great. Fresh bread, good amount of cheese and sauce that was there but not overwhelming.
(5)P K.
Everything is homemade with generous portions and top quality ingredients. Substituions on their specialty pizzas is never a problem and you truly are pampered while eating here. This is a family owned business, not a chain...The building is old and had I not been rfeferred here I likely would never have went in. The curb appeal is not so grabd, Anyhow, so here is my recommendation... Salads = Excellent Pizza = Excellent Service = Excellent Atmosphere = Friendly and nice but not the fine dining look I give this place 5 stars! Best pizza in Western Washington..... :)

Tonight I was sick with the flu and with husband out of town and 2 hungry toddlers and 3 other family members staring at me like a pack of hungry dogs I decided to try Verona. I've driven by it a hundred times and the exterior is pretty unassuming but I'd always been curious. So tonight I called and ordered 2 pizzas, cheese and the house special. The delivery took almost an hour so be sure to call early but the service was friendly (to be fair, I called at 5pm on a Saturday night). The pizzas arrived warm and looking good. The crust was really good, chewy and not too thick and not too thin. The sauce was not overpowering and the flavor came from the toppings. I would definitely order from them again especially if I have one of their coupons that come in my Val Pac.
(4)Ron W.
Best pizza in the area, great service. My regular spot for 5+ years.
(5)Jo C.
We have eaten here many times, the food is probably the best is Burien. The hostess/owner always remembers us, makes us feel so welcome, and the menu is wonderful...we tried just about everything on it and everything is GREAT!
(5)Idi A.
Made an online order for delivery. An hour and 15min later I call to check if the order was made, "yeah, the driver is already enroute." 20min later, driver shows up w/ barely warm pizza. I ask the driver a couple ?s, all of which make it clear they let my order sit around and sent it hurredly after I called. The pizza was nothing special, over priced for the quality, and sold by incompetent liars. Go somewhere else...
(1)Rhonda G.
Really good pizza. The waitresses are very friendly and nice but very slow. We have always had to get up and go to the counter to get our check so we can leave.
(4)Leslie S.
Just ordered delivery from them for the first time tonight in our new hood, Normandy Park. The guy on the phone was super nice - SUPER ITALIAN. I had a feeling this was going to be good. Then the delivery guy came...by the far the most masculine (and ITALIAN) delivery dude I've encountered. He complimented me on our new kitchen and told me that it was perfect for making pizza. I told him we had heard good things about Verona and we had high hopes, because we were sad about moving away from Pagliacci in Seattle. The guy gave me an adorable smirk and said, "You-a-take-a-one bite and you'll-a-see." And then he left. and forgot our free 6 pack of soda... but then again, so did I! He was so charming, that it took me awhile long after he left to even remember the missing soda. Pizza was of the NY-style-folding variety and the meat was DELICIOUS. We also ordered a half gorgonzola, and it did not disappoint either. Roasted red peppers were yummy. We'll try the thin crust next time to see what it's like. A large really isn't that large - next time we will order an XL because we like having leftovers. Definitely will order again. Paglia---who? What is my name? Where am I? Soda?
(4)Wayne D.
I really, really tried to like this place, but the food just isn't good. I suggest you or any other living human that appreciates their hard earned cash, please consider eating somewhere else before this excuse of a restaurant. I "attempted" to eat - lasagna, minestrone soup and both items were just boring and not worth the over expensive price. The lasagna was 1 layer thick of over cooked cheese, ton's of olive oil or maybe lard and the noodle level (base) was soggy. Soup was oily and without substance, I think the water had more heart than this lame excuse of a meal. If I could, I would have demanded my money back, except I ordered take out. Multiply this x2 and it cost me over $26. I would like my money back...

Was in need of something for dinner, couldn't drive, so I was looking for something delivered. Found this place online, and they'd sent me something in the mail. Ordered the chicken fettucinni alfredo. Red peppers were great, chicken was solid, and the actual noodles and sauce were average, and by average I mean they were great. And heck, even came with a sizeable, solid side salad. Mud pie had melted by the time I got to it, but that's only cuz I didn't have the sense to put it in the freezer or the fridge. Still tasted great. If you're in the White Center/Burien/Normandy Park area and looking for delivery Italian, you can't go wrong with Verona.
(4)Angie J.
Really good pizza for a great price. A client recommended this place bc it's close to the office so I tried it. I'm really happy with their pizza. It is not something I'd consider to be exotic or authentic but it's really good pizza for a fair price. They do not skimp on the toppings and the selection is really good. I'm partial to places that offer artichoke and tomato slices rather than just weird bits of food. The parking situation is a little sketchy, the parking lot appears to have no exit so you need to back out and with 1st Ave being under constant construction I recommend you take advantage of the free delivery. I usually get it within 30 minutes of ordering so it's almost faster to do that rather than to drive up and back.
(4)Ann D.
Wasn't too sure about eating here when we assessed the exterior, but decided to give it a try based on fellow Yelper's reviews. Glad we took the chance! Good food, albeit my sandwich (chicken breast, pesto and roasted red peppers) was not spectacular (surprisingly bland), very friendly waitstaff, meals were delivered quickly and portions were ample. My 12 year old son loved his calzone and when I mentioned it was his birthday, she brought him a complementary slice of mud pie. Would eat here again if we are in the neighborhood.
(4)Matthew W.
Four starts is perfect for Verona's. They do have great food and I am proud to have them in Burien. They could be a little less expensive and include a little more of an experience but if I want some great pizza, Verona's is where I am going.
(4)Dennise H.
Update - we've ordered from them a few more times and they've always been on time and gotten our order. So I'm glad it was just a fluke. We love their food!
(4)Gina C.
I wish I could say better things. The staff was very friendly and sweet. Other than that I can't say much. The ambiance was lacking. I had the fettucine carbonara which came with a small salad and garlic bread. The salad was fresh and green but the vinaigrette dressing did not have olive oil. Sigh. The cheese on top was mozzarella, kind of strange. The pasta itself was light, almost tasted light egg noodles, unexpected but not in a good way. The sauce was mediocre and overloaded the pasta. The garlic bread was also mediocre. Perhaps I am biased having lived on the East coast and having a best friends mom who is the best Italian cook. Sorry Verona.
(2)C I.
I originally rated them as a 3 and I have no idea what I was thinking. I went there again a few months ago and everything was just perfect and they have been my pizza place of choice since then. Ingredients are very fresh, the dough is so much better than any chain and 99% of locals I've been to, the sauce is flavorful but not overpowering. They do the thing where they cook most of the ingredients under the cheese which I love. Has free delivery and the pizzas are larger than chains, so the prices are actually competitive to chains. I don't eat pizza as often as I used to, but when I do get it it will be Verona.
(5)Kimberly D.
I just LOVE this little restaurant!! They make the best Chicken Alfredo ;) Everything's homemade....from the pizza to the pasta! I just wish I lived closer because I would go their at least once a week! And they deliver!!! If you haven't tried this little restaurant, you must!!!! It's better than the Olive Garden if you ask me.....and not a zoo like the Olive Garden! I have to take a xanex just to walk in the door their!
(4)Gina T.
As far as Italian fare goes there are a lot of "American" interpretations out there that dull things down. There are equally as many places that claims to be very authentic that are little more then sauce and noodles. I found this cute little Italian cafe' that not only has great flavor and a good selection, but the owners and employees are actually Italian. They have the best sandwiches and while I have yet to get a pasta or pizza, they looked amazing and smelled even better. In a world terrified of carb consumption and dieting this place is worth cheating for and will not break the bank. The service was really good and they deliver for free. I am always excited for new places in B-Town and this one is one of my new favs! I had to add that I just placed an order online and they deliver, confirm your order right away! I placed my order online and it had to be one of the easiest websites I have ever used!! Oh and did I mention they don't charge for delivery!!!
(5)Molly M.
delish for the price! i eat here way more than i really should. the decor is a little wanting and usually when we eat veronas it's because we are being lazy sooooo we get delivery. takes 45 minutes no matter what, but they are dependable. i love the pizza the sammies. it's not gourmet but it's comfort food at it's best.
(4)Yuri R.
I visited here Sunday and here's the breakdown: Ordered only one item; large Hawaiian for take out - ~$20 (in this ballpark and doesn't include tip). Customer service: 5/5 Easy to order, only person there given I showed up near closing. Offered water while I waited and was asked if I would need plates, forks, etc. Facility: 5/5 Appeared to be clean with wiped down tables and the floor in the process of being mopped when I showed up. Pizza assessment: 4/5 A large can accommodate four people at two slices each. It hits the spot when you're hungry and it's very reasonably put together. It's freshness level is good being a couple notches below Papa Murphy's and obviously better than Pizza Hut or Dominoes plus without the heartburn or acid reflux. Parking: 3/5 It's always more accessible than downtown Seattle lots but the six or so spots is bordered by an alleyway for an apartment complex and an auto repair facility so it is a busy place. Finding ability: 5/5 Easy to find this place as there is a big red Verona sign and it's visible a traffic light or two away. Super accessible by GPS and anybody that says "it's on the main street in Burien near the Toyota dealership". Overall, I like this place and the food hits the spot better than anything you'd find at the airport for considerably less and without the over the top screening process to get there!

We are traveling home tomorrow, so delivery was in the cards for us. I ordered Fettuccine Al Forno with Meatballs and Mr. Picky got Cheese bread. It was good. Me. Picky really liked his bread! Wonderful surprise for a long week away from home. Mine came with 2 pieces of bread and a pretty little salad. Meatballs were good, sauce was nice and sweet, only regret... I needed a knife to cut the baked cheese. Delivery took about an hour, that was fine.
(4)Jess M.
Most recently we ordered their calzones. We have had their pizza before, but didn't love it. The calzones were ok, but not amazing. They are huge though, enough to split with two people. The pesto bread was also ok. The cannolis were not very good at all. Two come in an order, my husband couldn't even finish his. They tasted like what you would expect from a food court or Safeway, overly sweet filling and a stale shell.
(3)Sal M.
Ordered the Verona Special small pizza and it was just fine. Nothing stood out. Funny thing was the whole top would come off the crust so at times all you had was dough on one hand and toppings on the other hand. Spicy wings were not spicy at all not even mild. The blue cheese was watery (cheap blue cheese). Delivery was about 45 minutes and the delivery guy was okay. Dropped off the food and was on his way. With only a few places for delivery around Seatac and this being one of three I figured more reviews meant better pizza. It was ok.
(3)Mary M.
Flying out of Seattle and not wanting to go out to eat, we asked out hotel for brochures on who delivered. We went with Verona and had linguini Di Zucca with chicken. Large portion, fresh veggies and tasty! We also had theSicilian salad which was fresh and lovely. Highly recommend if you are flying out. They had free delivery in a timely manner, and a very nice delivery person.
(5)Brandy P.
Baked cauliflower and hummus plate were quite delicious. Would definitely return for the appetizers!
(4)Dante A.
It is small on the inside, but clean and has a pleasant italian decor. Freshly painted walls and very clean. The waitress was very friendly and nice. The pizza was absolutely amazing. I ordered the verona and swapped a few toppings and it was made perfectly, oozing with cheese and delicious. Also had a fun exchange with a fellow customer singing, "those were the days". Highly recommended.
(5)Kevin D.
We were staying in a hotel near the Seattle airport and not much is around so we ordered delivery from Verona's because they were the highest rated on yelp and were quoted an hour. Our pizza and salad arrived in about 50 minutes. A large pizza and large salad for three people was $38. After asking for plates, forks, and peppers we were to they were all in the bag. So we followed with a $7 tip. The bag had NO PLATES! Pissed! So I call because the driver can't possibly be out of the building and the man on the phone says it will be 45 minutes to get plates! 2 miles away?!?! He then put me on hold and never came back or brought plates. I wouldn't pay this price for this service ever! Beware! Especially at a hotel. They could care less about "these types of customers".
(1)Jeanninne B.
I went there this afternoon with a friend for lunch and ordered a meat-lover's calzone with salami..va-va-voom!!! It was so big that I could not eat it all and ended up taking some home with me along with my garlic bread.
(5)Tiffany F.
After a long day of traveling all we wanted was something yummy and something delivered to our hotel. This popped up on my grub hub app and we were not disappointed. I ordered the pesto chicken and my husband got the Sicilian sandwich. We each ordered a half and they were good sized. Hearty and delicious. Was delivered in the said amount of time and we will definitely stop in next time we are in town.
(5)Darian S.
I asked the concierge what pizza or pasta place is good and delivers. I was told Verona. The Yelp reviews also looked promising. Perhaps, my first mistake was taking the advice of the hotel concierge. Regardless, I phoned in my order at 6:20PM and was told 45 minutes. Nearly an hour and half later, my order arrives. I ask if all of my food is cold and was assured by the obviously overworked student that it was fine. I paid my bill and now look forward to a quiet meal. First, I ordered a greek salad, cheese bread and a calzone. I didn't have high expectations but the food that arrived was ridiculous. First, the "cheese bread" is nothing more then half a sandwich roll with a bit of butter (or oil) and some cheese. For $4.50, I expected a bit more. None of it had taste and I couldn't tell if the cheese consistency really was that of soft plastic or was it due to my food being cold. I will say the tomato sauce that came with the bread was actually quite tasty. I would have been better off ordering a quart of tomato sauce! Next, the greek salad; it was acceptable, noting great, but at least it was palatable. The vinaigrette included did have some flavor. Ultimately, I threw everything in the trash with the exception of the salad. Last, my calzone. As expected, it was cold.I took my first bite and it was again rubbery dough with absolutely no taste. In a mad frenzy to calm my taste buds, I ripped open the parmesan and crushed red pepper packets and poured those tasty little morsels onto the calzone. Even adulterated, my next bite wasn't any better. I ripped the calzone in half and took one last bite from the middle with the same results. The dough was terrible and the filling was not much better. I had enough and discard all of it. I will give credit when credit is due so here goes; they included silverware, plates and napkins. With a dining total of $22, I should have had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Lesson Learned. I have uploaded photos of this meal. I haven't made any adjustments to the images. You have been cautioned.

The crust and marinara sauce is good. Chicken was dry. I normally hate pesto but the pesto on this pizza I didn't mind because it tasted like nothing. So, if you like pesto you won't like this one. The cheese sticks looked weird. Like anorexic twinkies and had a soggy bottom. For people who normally can get another round of fried cheese, this one was never finished.

Delivery was slow and customer service when ordering was minimal. Of the 3 meals we had delivered, all were decent but none were stellar. The gyro was good, though the sauce was heavy on cucumber and light on garlic. The margherita pizza was good, but the marinara they use on the pasta wasn't to that person's liking. Also, the garlic bread was hard. Based on other reviews I'd try them again, but at their restaurant, and I'd order the pizza instead.

Cute little eatery, the mood was comfortable, easy and clean. I ordered a calzone, which was HUGE! The chicken was just a little dry and the calzone a little more done than I would prefer (hence the 4/5). But I want to give an extra shout out for how fresh the dough was and how nice your kitchen looked! The calzone was fresh, huge, and yummy!

Now that it has been many months since my past review, and the employee detailed in the original review is no longer there (I was told many people complained about her), I will update my review to the 5 stars the restaurant deserves. It is top notch food in a very cozy mom-&-pop joint, and with the right service, deserving of nothing less than 5 stars!

I never did go back right away, after my experience in 2008. Instead, I had a new experience in May because my Mom chose Veronas as the spot for her traditioanl Moms Day dinner. Dave and I were excited because our vice is Italian food. We love it. My Mom was ademate about coming here and we weren't going to argue! So, the hubby and my step son, my HUGE Dad and my Mom all met here and dined. To say the least, it's on the small side. We crammed into a booth, with Logan sitting at the end of the table in a chair. Everyone got something different. I went with the prawn pasta, Dave got lasagne, Logan got meatball spaghetti, Mom got some cabonara and Dad went with the baked spaghetti. The bruchetta was ok. The tomatos were definitely canned. Our waitress was nice but very brief. The place was empty, save for some people leaving when we got there and a new set of people coming in when we were leaving, yet we had to ask for more water/refills and bread. The meatballs were basically tasteless. The red sauce all around was mediocre and could have used some garlic and italian seasoning. My meal was the only one that seemed up to snuff but later at home, it seemed to haunt me. It's kind of odd I think because I re-read my review from before and it makes me want to give this place a third try....just to even out my impression. Obviously, the pizza is popular and it sounds like the sandwiches are good too. Maybe I'll give it another go and hopefully be able to chalk all this up to a fluke occasion? I'll keep you posted.

I like this place a lot!!! Friendly service, nice atmosphere, great prices and great food. The portions are well sized and you can definitely taste the flavor in whatever you choose to order. I am not sure what the rest of these reviewers are complaining about. As the saying goes, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."

There's nothing unique or special, but the pizza is good. Decent prices too. Very limited parking outside and not a ton of seating inside.

This is our favorite American style pizza in the area to order out. Everything we've ordered has been delicious and memorable. They deliver and are pleasant and speedy. Plus, it's great to support local businesses.

The pie was good as we remembered. Large, full and delicious. Prices and service were great. Plain dated environment, but warm and clean. They missed the fifth star for the waitress wearing a cut off tshirt. Even in Seattle there has to be a line for unacceptable clothing while serving food and I think that's it. She was very nice, and gave great service-but a cut off t-shirt seems....gauche, unsanitary, just plain wrong. We may come back some day, but no time soon. We said our blessing twice.

Great food! Their pizza is amazing, but my only complain is that they take like an hour to deliver! We always order from them, you would think it could be a little but quicker! We keep going back because of the food so that says something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a huge fan of New York style pizza and even Chicago style pizza. Rarely do I like anything in between. I found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out because of the high ratings and reviews. The lady at the counter was super friendly! She gave me a take out menu with coupons in it. She said I could use the $3 coupon on my current order which I did. The total for a large pizza was $20. I was able to substitute a few of the items on the pizza I ordered without being charged extra. You can get the thin crust or with regular with more of a crust. I opted for thin crust with sausage, pepperoni, garlic, onions and red peppers. I couldn't wait until I got home to try a slice. So, yes I'm guilty of eating while driving. I really couldn't help myself. The pizza was amazing. I have one slice left over at home. I'm contemplating ordering another one tonight...the only thing stopping me is my diet. I cant do that to myself, order pizza two days in a row?! what am I thinking?! I wont do it. At least I don't think I will ;)

really 4 1/2 stars -- maybe 5. Pizza full of fresh ingredients. Pizza was delivered by a nice delivery guy - with plates and napkins to boot!!! Will order again when staying near airport before an early flight!!!

Ate there the other night. This Italian restaurant has great Russian owners and really good customer service. My reason for 3 stars is the Italian food was much more spicier than I prefer. My friend really enjoyed the lasagna and spicier sauce. So if spicier is for you, than this is your little spot in Burien .

Verona is some of the best pizza I've had in Seattle and definitely the best in Burien! You can really tell they use high quality ingredients. The "Meati" is my personal favorite bit I've never had a bad pie from these guys. They've never been late with a delivery and most of the time they're early! The food is always nice and hot plus the delivery guys have always been friendly. Over never tried their calcined but I've heard they're quite good as well. Bottom line if your in the area and feel like pizza this is your best bet!

Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmm! Ordered this delivery almost out of their delivery range... Didn't matter. Pizza came on time, was hot and the sauce is freakin' awesome! First time customer, not last time customer :) I highly recommend this pizza place to anyone who follows my Yelp posts!!

I was not impressed and do not plan to return.

Ok pizza, but overpriced and lacked topping...it was like expensive cheese with bread. Hardly any toppings. We ordered the seafood pizza. Hardly had any seafood, it was really sparse. Had better. It's just ok, but for the price you'll get something better tasting and larger at Pizza Hut across the street. Kind of harsh, but it's kind of bit let down.

Found this place on Eat24. Ordered a extra large cheese pizza and garlic bread. Both were excellent. Delivery took about 35-40 min which i didn't mind at all. I will be ordering pizza from here now on. Simply great tasting and well priced pizza.

We went here for lunch today and I have to say it was excellent, I may go out of my way just to have lunch here in the future. The fresh house made bread that was used in my Italian sub sandwich was absolutely to die for. The sandwich itself was also very good. My co-worker allowed me to try a piece of his gorgonzola pizza and it was really good and the crust was worth mentioning. I really enjoyed the house salad with the house made italian dressing, very good flavors and taste of home goodness. If you love Spumoni, then you should have some to finish off your meal. One last thing, this would have been a five star rating (yes five stars) for service, quality and excellent flavor, but I have deducted a star for the unfortunate and nauseating smell of pine sol upon entering the restaurant.

I ordered delivery from here today. Pizza was excellent. I'm from Michigan, so I like deep dish pizza. All this thin crust crap in seattle? No thank you. Verona wast deep dish but it had a "normal" style crust that was delicious. Just the right amount of toppings too. So good :)

Good and fast! Not fast food fast, just to clear that up. But the pizza is solid and they power you through. Ambiance is not the concern here, but they do fine.

The food is good, but tends to be a touch on the pricey side. The people are nice. I'm fond of the lasagna, and the garlic cheese bread is excellent. The service is faster on some days than others. As Italian food goes, it's the best in the local area by far. They have no real competition in Burien. (And I've tried them all.)

Yummy food! I ordered delivery and they forgot to bring my side salad. I called to let them know and believe it or not they did bring me a big salad not just a side plus a chocolate cake which is just perfect for my pregnant self. Also they were very friendly two thumbs up guys! :)

Ordered from here for the first time, last night. The person on the phone was nice. The pizza was "meh, I've experienced better". I'll stick with Dominos Pizza.

My meal was perfectly pleasant. Not a darned thing wrong with it. I got the spaghetti (which comes with two pieces of garlic bread), added meatballs and a salad which ended up being about 12 bucks. Honestly, two people could have split it no problem. It was a very generous portion, especially with 2 pieces of garlic bread and 6 meatballs. So, in regards to other reviews citing price as a drawback, you get what you pay for. I really could have split my dinner with someone else and each of us would still be full. The restaurant was clean, the waitress was very nice, the food was brought out quickly (not that my dish was exactly complicated). She was always on top of getting me a refill on my soda (which says something, I down Diet Coke like there's no tomorrow). The only thing I could ding them on is color scheme of the restaurant, it's a pretty garish red/orange/pink thing. I don't really understand the choice, but it's nice to know that someone likes to take a spin on the color wheel, I guess. Normally I don't even think about the color of a room, but for whatever reason I found it really distracting. But that's a pretty minor quibble. All that being said, it wasn't GREAT. It was just fine. Were I to stay in Burien longer, I'd probably frequent this place. Good service, good food, decent prices. It's a good place to go if you want some decent Italian food.
