Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Thanks to a coworker who told me about this fabulous Mexican restaurant. This neighborhood is heavily populated by Mexicans, so you can be sure Mexican food is good too! It's amazing how I can spend $5 or less and be full for lunch! Love their Sopitos and Mulitas. They've got the most comprehensive menu I've seen, and they've got nice staff at this location as well. But I have to say that I look forward to their fresh spicy sauces and that COLE SLAW! Wowza :) Cheers to spicy, fresh ingredients! I have yet to get dessert here....

I always get the asada tacos, because I love them so much and so I never skip out on having 5 of them. I need to expand my choice next time.

I felt my heart leap with joy when i was eating the camarones al la diabla. With those corn tortillas i wasin heaven. Not to mention, thet have great salsas. The service was also great. The cashier came to my table while cleaning and we had a great conversation. I thouroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I will be back, time and time again. Consideing i live 25 to 30 minutes away, it will always be a treat to me!!!

I have been here a couple times (to the one in Burien) and have always had great food. If you're craving the best churros in town, visit this place. They're hot and fresh and served with vanilla ice cream (though the last time we went they were out of ice cream...that made me kinda sad, but I got over it once I bit into the churro).
(5)Rassamee H.
I LOVE Taqueria El Rinconsito. This is the most authentic Mexican food I have found in the Seattle area. Having lived down in San Diego for a bit, that is saying something. And it helps that there is usually more Spanish spoken there than English. They have the best Sopitos ever and excellent Carne Asada. I have never had something I did not enjoy: quesadillas, enchiladas, mole, you name it. They also have lovely beverages like Jamaica, Horchata, and Mango. YUM!
(5)Crystal S.
I will say one thing - I am PICKY about Mexican food! I grew up in San Diego, and I have spent a LOT of time in Mexico, so I've had real Mexican food. This makes finding Mexican restaurants that are acceptable to me quite difficult. That said, this place has it. I can come in here and order my food in Spanish and it is PERFECT. So tasty. I could be in any little Taqueria in San Diego. Finding this place has made me VERY happy!

I love Burien, I don't live there but I would. One day while we were out driving around Burien we saw El Rinconsito and it was packed on a Sunday. Always eat at a restaurant that is packed-especially if it is in Burien. So we went in, the menu can be a little intimidating while they stand at the register staring at you and I don't speak spanish and the english descriptions are so small you can barely read them. So I always stand there humming and haaing aobut what to have. We often have the carnitas which are very small little tacos with pulled pork, cilantro and onions and nothing else. They are delcious. The quesadillas are also really good and enormous for the $4 price tag. But don't expect some cheesy greasy mess, they actually have very little cheese and mainly meat. The spicy pork is really good. Everything everyone has looks really good and one of these days I will stand at that register and read every item before I order in a panic. They also have a huge selection of authentic beverages in generic unlabeled drink dispensers, which everyone seems to get, but they aren't labeled and I have no idea what they are. But stop by when you are in Burien and want really authentic, affordable Mexican food.

Fantastic! It's kinda weird giving this place five stars since there is another taqueria blocks away that i like more (estacion), but the food here is always great. The tacos are what they should be: tender, moist, flavorful and prepared simply. The tortillas are fresh and delicious. I mostly have the tacos (79 cents - are you kidding me) but i have the torta the flautas and once they had a gorditas special that was fantastic. I love the salsa bar and those pickled carrots are soaked in heroin i'm pretty sure. I always feel a little guilty about the amount i take but i cant help myself...those little guys are delicious.
(5)Alaina W.
yum. okay, so it's not necessarily a "hole in the wall" restaurant, but the food is as good as if it were coming to you off one of those mexican-food-off-an-old-schoolbus joints. and it's cheap as hell, too! they have a great selection and there's no gut-bomb feeling afterwards like you'd get with "similar food" at taco bell. yeah, it's a little unnerving if you don't know what you want and they're standing at the counter waiting for you to order... but i figure, for one, i KNOW i'm not the only person that can't speak spanish that will walk through that door in any given 10-minute period, and two, you get my money. so browse i will.

So my mexican friend told me that this was the best mexican food that she had ever eaten at a restaurant in the US. Although I find this hard to believe, she is from the South, where they have a ton of mexican restaurants. Either way, I love this placa and have been going here since i was little, which is like 10 years or so. It will always be one of my favorite places to eat!!!! The all you can drink horchata is the best!!!!!
(5)A S.
Let's put it this way - I have dreams about the little tacos served at Rinconsito fairly regularly. Once you get the flavor in your blood, you will crave them too! I really like this place - the food is excellent, the prices are very reasonable (in fact, they recently lowered prices...and now have 69-cent tacos!), and the staff is very friendly. They offer a large and varied menu of what I consider to be authentic Mexican food. They have an impressive selection of beverages, from bottled sodas to on-tap sodas, fruit-flavored aguas, and of course, horchata. The excellent salsa and condiment bar is also not to be missed! I typically go for the tacos (the pollo ones are amazing) and mulitas but I have enjoyed soups and larger dinner plates there as well. I've always been very satisfied with the food. Incredible flavor and value. I definitely recommend you check Rinconsito out!

Worth stopping in
(5)S K.
Yummy! I go here all the time for the tacos and quesadillas. I wish they had tamales and rellenos, but good and very affordable. Kinda takes longer than I would expect to get the food and one time they completely forgot my order. Decent salsa bar. Good parking.
(4)Amber J.
i LOVE their 79 cent tacos! I usually get them without the cilantro and onions though. They're usually always busy, at least the three times I've went so far. The prices are decent and it tastes amazing. However, one downside is that their beans are too salty and their rice doesn't have as much flavor as the rice that I've had at other mexican restaurants. Other than that, good place for cheap mexican food!
(4)Sarms J.
good food, good prices, unlimited drinks is great. Pickles are good too
(5)Kila K.
This is a VERY good restaurant with excellent entrees. This place is almost always crowded when I stop by in the evenings, a sign of many others liking this place as well. The food is a bit pricey, but it's very good and the portions are generous. Sure beats going to Taco Hell.
(5)David H.
This is you're run of the mill Taco shop. Read about all the great reviews this Tacqueria received and gave it a shot. First off, nothing was bad. Everything has a decent flavor to it but nothing really pops on the menu. The hot sauce ranges from OK to the worst I've ever had. The worst having BBQ sauce mixed into the sauce, creating an odd Tex Mex style flavor. Which is far from traditional Mexican food. When it comes to service and cleanliness, they're a 4 Star joint. They courteous, affordable and even carry Mexican Sodas (including Coke) which go better with the food. If you're comparing it to Mexican food in the Sound area, it's better than average. But if you're looking for a closer experience to the real deal, try El Rinconsito in Lynnwood. The meat is prepared better and offers a fuller, more authentic taste. You can also get lucky sometimes when trying out one of the many random taco trucks around town. Best Dish: Tacos de Pollo
(3)Justin W.
Great authentic tacos and Mexican food. Stopped in late for some tacos after a movie. Love the 79 cent tacos and the fact that its open late. Make sure to check it out if you are in b-town.
(4)Janie S.
Love The Food here.I have been enjoying this restaurant and it's very nice staff for the past 10 years.I love the horchata too all you can drink. VeryGood!!!!
(5)Sonja S.
This is the best Mexican food! It is authentic, cheap, and plentiful. I absolutely love the salsa bar with 4 different kinds of salsa, pickled carrots and peppers and more. Since the tacos come loaded with meat on 2 tortillas, I usually separate the tortillas and make into two tacos. Really wish there was one in Seattle. Only complaint.
(5)Coral Z.
I love this place!! the food is great and they give you alot of food and it isn't too expensive. One of my favorite places to eat.
(5)Amy K.
Best damn Mexican food in Washington--because it's the closest thing we have to the heaven that is in So Cal. Their staff is friendly and the tacos always make me smile! Love the huge peppers and onions that come as a garnish. ;D
(5)Nami N.
I don't want to give any stars!!! It was worse place to eat and terrible tastes!!!! I checked reviews BUT theses high stars reviews were ????????? I never ever try this place. So Greasy, No taste, Not good services!!! Fast pay...I want to cash back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(1)Seattle M.
Pretty much the quintessential semi fast food Taco Shop. This place is a well oiled machine, plasma displays with vibrant pictures of the food constitutes the menu, very reasonable prices, good food. My only complaint is that is all too salty, but that is part for the course on places like this.
(4)Jane N.
Solidly good, open late, wide selection. Clientele is mostly immigrant Families, at least when I've been in on Sunday nights. The corn tortillas are amazingly fresh and delicious. The dining room is pretty bare bones with wonderful movie posters from the golden age of mexican cinema.
(3)Tiffany J.
Came here today since I was in the neighborhood and had carne asada tacos and they were good! The meat was on the bit of the chewier side but still good..if I'm in the area again I'll probably be back!
(4)Stanley L.
this place is delicious. ive been here a few times. one of those times it took over 40 minutes to get my caldo de res. i was pissed but the food was good. i think they accidently gave my caldo de res that i ordered to someone else who ordered the same thing after me. they should have hooked me up with a drink or something for fucking up like that. thats what i would do.
(4)Megan K.
Im not a fan of Mexican food but this place is a little different. It's like a home kinda cooking. its a to go restaurant with table for those who want to dine in. lots of options in food. Ive had a few of their daily special and its very flavorable.
(4)Scott L.
What a great little place. Tasty affordable mexican food, always busy, but always quick service. Since the first time I've gone in, I'm always greeted with smiles from multiple people and everyone is nice. Cannot beat the tacos for the price!
(5)Jessica E.
Just moved from Houston,TX and was afraid I wouldn't find a good Mexican place to eat. FOUND ONE! I just got the asada tacos and they were delicious. I'll be coming back, everything I saw come out the kitchen looked authentic. Aguas frescas and prices are actually the same if not better than Texas prices! Staff was friendly. Can't wait to get more tacos :)
(5)Ricky R.
Was very pleased with my visit. The atmosphere was nice and the staff attentive. Was grayed with a plant smile. They got my order right on the first try and the food came pretty fast even while it was packed. I had the burrito chipotle and I wad happy with my meal. Will defibrillation come again.
(5)Robbie K.
My wife and I wanted to got to another restaurant that was closed for renovation. We defaulted to Rinconsito and sorry we did. My carnitas plate was loaded with tasteless pork. it was too much to eat and uninviting over time. My wife's carne asada burrito disappointed her too. Though huge, no real flavor. I figure this is a place for people with big appetites, or else we just ordered the wrong stuff.
(2)JoAnne B.
I'm so glad that this place is open late. I looooove the guacamole!
(4)Nancy B.
This is the real deal!!! If you love street tacos, without the wagon, then look no further. The staff are so friendly and the food is unbelievable! Fresh! Hot! Quality ingredients! The salsa's (especially guacamole sauce and cabbage pico) should not be overlooked. They have locations all over the south end of Seattle and each one is just as delicious and friendly as the other. Don't miss out on this RARE gem in the northwest!!
(5)Priya P.
The food is great! The staff is great! The prices are great! What more could you want in a restaurant?! My favorites are the tacos (seriously, all of them), the whole fish, and the arroz con pollo. The salsas, pickled carrots, and cabbage slaw, are always fresh and plentiful, and the staff attentive. Definitely one of my "regular spots" for a great and affordable meal. I highly recommend it!
(4)Philicia S.
The smell of that freshly fried whole fish, mojarra is making my mouth drool as I drive home!!! Ordered a torta de asada and the mojarra, whole fried fish. Torta was good. My husband killed it. Mojarra, a little under seasoned but thats fine, in general people and including myself eat too much salt, so I was fine with it. It was just enough. Anymore then I would be more worried right now =) Its served with rice and beans and delicious flour tortillas! Called in my order as I was on my way driving there, took about only ten minutes from the time I called to finish. It is very small and nestled away on ambaum blvd. The lady is very friendly, the one at the cashier. And she spoke a little broken english, but well enough to understand. My order was only a little over $17. Pretty good deal for such a big meal for two people. I am stuffed. So glad to know they open very late, because I work late and I am always hungry after, but its a great place to grab a full size meal at this time of night. (I came around 1am) They also have roasted chicken, soups and tacos and so on. Its like a mini chain mexican restaurant. A serve yourself salsa bar, and soda station. My husband, son and I go here often in other locations too. So we are regulars!
(4)Coby P.
Very surprised to find this diamond in the rough. Very clean and great service. The food was delicious, I will be back for sure.
(5)Eugene B.
Ok... as of today I'm a fan. I've been driving by this place for years, (decades ?), ever since it was Mr. Ed's coffee shop. I've never been inside. I have scouted their website for their menus and was tempted. Mexican food really isn't part of my repertoire. Oh, I have nothing against it, I just don't do it. In fact, it's probably been years. Well tonight I was on a budget and unable to go to my usual digs so I had been contemplating what to get. A burger? No. Teriyaki? No. Fish & chips? No. So I got up the nerve and went to Taqueria el Rinconsito for the first time. I got the chicken enchiladas regulares....comes with beans and rice.....added a Mexican coke (which I've never had before). The chicken enchiladas were to die for, the rice was just perfect...good texture... not spicy (my preference), and the beans were the best beans I've had in my life....real good flavor. $11.21 plus tip and I was out the door. I'm stuffed! I'll be back!
(5)Mack M.
This is my favorite restaurant in Burien. The price is great, the service is quick and the staff is friendly. But most of all the food is amazing and authentic. A couple tips: You get to serve yourself as much limes, radishes, pickled carrots, onions, and jalapeños as you want, so load up. The tacos are great, burritos are great as well. The horchata is really good too!
(5)Joe D.
I love this place! They have wonderful authentic Mexican food! The menu may seem slightly fast food but they work fast to make a fresh food. The fish tacos are great! Make sure you try those.
(5)Brandia T.
I NEVER finish my food, & I'm a picky picky eater. Not only did I finish my food which by the way was DELICIOUS but I got into my husbands food as well. The staff is very nice, very polite. The place was so busy that it was hard to keep up with cleaning the table but they still managed that, & the salsa condiment bar was awesome! Now my husband has been taking me out here because I don't waste the food & he loves it too. I have tried a lot of different things & so far all of it has been great. The soda bar is good too, machines are kept clean so the drinks & pop taste so good as well
(5)Nate G.
Best place to get late night tacos after a night out. Food is well priced. The staff is speedy and friendly. Great lunch deals as well. Wonderful place to get some authentic Mexican food for a very fair price.
(4)Nancy K.
I love this place! They have good, honest mexican food at a very reasonable price. We've been there several times and had tacos, burritos, and whatever else. I love the salsa bar with vegetables and whole jalapeños. Also they're really fast. I especially like the spicy pork tacos. YUM!
(5)Carole T.
FRESH * FRESH * FRESH!!! Stopped in today for lunch. Had the shrimp (Cameron) tostada. The shrimp were fresh and nicely cooked, not overcooked. Fresh slices of avocado topped the tostada. From the first bite, this dish reminded me of having fresh seafood dishes on the coast of Mexico at Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point). I've not experienced that level of freshness at other Mexican restaurants in the states. I would love to return and try other selections. Daily specials for only $5.99. Winner.
(5)Sonia L.
Small but, awesome!
(5)Alma L.
One word "Amazing!!!!"
(5)Clover A.
UNLIMITED HORCHATA. That's like music to my ears, and I might as well not even eat as I will certainly fill up on the milky goodness before I can help it. Jamaica (Hibiscus flavored drink), Mango, Tamarind, it just keeps going. The yummiest non-alcoholic drinks in town. Serious. BUT WAIT. The food is sooooo good! I want to have it now. They are randomly out of things on the menu and occasionally, the food isn't as amazing as the last time I ordered it, but overall, this is hands down best value for Mexican anywhere in the area. Did I mention the UNLIMITED HORCHATA?
(4)Keriche C.
Woah! Want a good torta? I suggest El Rinconsito! My only complaint? Only 1 out of 5 of our sandwiches was correct. Just make sure to check your order before you leave. None of us were disappointed with our sandwiches but when you don't get what you ask for (or pay extra for) it can be a little frustrating. Don't laugh, their menu really IS comprised of big screen TV's with 4 full motion videos! Don't let the cheezy interior fool you though. They have some amazing food!
(4)Fong H.
I stop by here after visiting the burien library today. I figure the chain Mexican restaurant auburn and Kent location was good, this should be as well. I stop in at about 4 pm, and the cashier was in a grouchy mood already. He ask me my order in Spanish and have me the total in Spanish as well. Not being of Hispanic descent, I was glad to have pick up Spanish while growing up in southern California otherwise this transaction would had been horrible and I would had left the establishment. I spent 15 minutes there and watch as he got angry with a customer because he order 5 chicken burritos and got 4 and a beef. Overall I probably won't be returning here after what I saw. It's a okay restaurant, a little run down on the outside. Fairly clean on the inside with granite or marble tabletop with small dining area. The food was just okay. I had better at the kent and auburn location. My chicken was dry and needed a lot of hot sauce.
(2)Bob W.
This is hands down a great Mexican food location. Priced right, carefully made and served. Very good self serve salsa and other toppings. You order and pay are bar, food is then brought to your table.
(5)Thuy H.
Have to come here and try it out!! Their food is to die for.. I love their tacos, super crispy and tasty. I also like how they have a bar of sauces for all type of extra hot flavors you like to adds in. One word, bommmmb !!
(5)Scott V.
Solid authentic Mexican. Nice salsa bar, clean interior, "video" menus! Chile Verde and Carnitas spot on. Sides are typical, but who goes out for rice?
(4)Benedict C.
Average food, the place is kind of a let down. The portions are smaller than expected and the side dishes are bland.
(2)Emily W.
Great authentic Mexican food. I had the steak enchiladas, they were delicious and only 7 dollars for three enchiladas, rice, and beans. Will definitely be eating here again!
(4)Nathan R.
What indeed CAN one find in Si-Burien other than boulevards with names that are hard to pronounce? Legit tacos! If you've read any of my reviews- you'll recall I'm a fan of the taco, of which I consider the perfect food. This place has a darn tasty pork carnitas taco. The simpler the better- just the basics: crispy-tasty pork topped with chopped onion, salsa and cilantro wrapped in a tasty corn tortilla. Now, I have to say- a tad disappointed in the size of aforementioned tasty tortilla. Probably the smallest I've ever seen 4-5" circumference, that's a big difference from 6" that I'm accustomed to- losing some real estate- so a little annoyed the price of three tacos + pineapple jarritos is pushing $7, but I will say the flavor is worth it. Will come back and try some other offerings for sure! Yeah Burien, ¡viva Rinconsito!
(4)Wen D.
Great for bringing the kids out for dinner. Prices and food are equally good. For what you spend at T Bell, spend a few dollars more for much better food. They're open late and it's always busy but the service is excellent.
(4)Sarah C.
Freshly made torillas are amazing! My go-to dish is the Pollo Ranchero. I'm usually not a rice and beans fan but the rice and beans here are yummy and I usually clean the entire plate. The tacos are also a good option. I need to try more of their menu options, but the pollo ranchero is soooo good that I have to get it everytime I'm there!
(5)Ann E.
Gotta love this Mexican dish dive! Don't expect cleanliness, just sit back and enjoy the tasty spicy pork tacos, the healthy juices that cleanse your colon or shine your hair (you gotta go to get my drift), the cafeteria vibe, the family feel of the staff, and the authenticity of Mexico found right here in little ole Burien! Work team has decided to have taco Thursdays as a regular routine! Bring it!
(4)Brooke M.
my favorite taco place. I love their mulitas and Sopitos too! Casual dinning place. Good salsa.
(4)Ricky M.
The redeeming quality of this joint is consistency. I have eaten here several times and repeat menu items always taste the same. The things I don't like about this place are the following: -Burrito ingredients aren't distributed well. You always get one bite meat, next bite beans etc . . . -Prices are on the higher side compared to similar establishments. It's a good place to eat in a McDonalds type of way. You know what you're gonna get.
(3)Neko I.
Love this place!! Fast, authentic and delicious! a lady making fresh tortillas upfront! can't wait to go back!
(5)Dulce S.
Bad service the lady was rude we got 4 gorditas and one of them had plastic on the lettuce and the food was not good it barely had any meat never going ther again
(1)Tim D.
I came here once since I drive by it daily, and I'm always looking for other good Mexican joints. I wasn't impressed by far. It's weird, because there's a restaurant of the same name out in Bellevue that I was super-impressed with. The food here was mediocre and lacked in flavor. I'll admit, I prefer Tex-Mex, so I suppose my tastes must not align with what they're dishing up. I had the enchiladas chipotle, and just wasn't impressed. I'd be better off making them myself.
(2)Paul B.
Great local place for Mexican food. How do you know? There's always people there, many of them Mexican. And Burien has it's fair share of Mexican joints. They'll usually have a happy hour item that's good can cheap. Like huge burritos for $2. Hard to beat!
(5)Gretchen F.
Great little quick Mexican spot for classic meals. There's a little salsa bar with a small variety. This place is great for classic burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas. The have an enchilada dish with a green sauce that is really good. My vegan niece claims that they melt their cheese well which is serious for me in a burrito. But if you want the fresh (street style) tacos and killer jalapeno salsa, go to La Estacion, across the street.
(4)Eric B.
I went to this place because i was shopping in the area and saw it was a highly rated place. The place was easy to find and it has a somewhat fast food vibe to it inside. The cashier/waitress was very nice and explained everything that i had a question about. The total was about the same if i went out to a real sit down restaurant so i wasn't a huge fan of that. When i got the food i noticed the portions seemed smaller than what im used to getting at some Mexican restaurants so with the price and then visual i was kinda kinda displeased. The food tasted really good though, so as far as that goes it was very tasty so at least that wasn't a let down. If I'm in the area i would go back if i was in the mood.
(4)Rod D.
It's more about the unlimited horchata than the food. The food is meh. My thing is the drink. Also the cashier dropped my to go plate on the floor and didn't try to get a clean one. I love the horchata drink.
(2)John L.
I don't like Tex Mex. Although I'm not Mexican, I imagine Tex Mex to be the equivalent of American-Chinese food like Egg Foo Young or Chop Suey. This place either doesn't serve Tex Mex, or I've just stayed away from those items on the menu that look like it. The Moharra is really good. It's a deep fried whole Tilapia fish served with rice and whole beans. The tacos are nice. Stick to the Cabeza, Lengua, Tripa, or Carnitas. They're tasty. Tacos are served with the meat only. There's a self serve bar where you load up on the salsa and vegetables to add to your taco. I like that they serve Coke, Horchata, and Aqua Fresca here for drinks. The tamarind flavored Aqua Fresca is especially refreshing. One of these days, I'll get around to trying a Torta. When you're done eating, take a stroll into Downtown old Burien. It's very pleasant, especially with the fine weather we've been able to enjoy recently.
(4)Sarah F.
This place is great for a quick, cheap eat! Pros: -Their horchata is as good as it gets -Portions are manageable (you won't go home with Mexican for a week) -Delicious combination meal Cons: -The food could be better and more authentic
(4)Aaron S.
This place is amazing. Do not mistake the lack of flair for quality. This place looks like a complete dump from the outside, but the food is amazing. Why eat at Azteca down the street when you can dine here for a 1/3rd of the price? Seriously though, for years i was addicted to Azteca's "Arroz Con Pollo, convinced it was the best there is. That was only until i tried the same dish at Taqueria El Rinconsito.
(5)Joe B.
It was okay. Came over here after eating at the place across the street. Had mulitas. Liked them here better than across the street. No chips here, but there is a salsa bar. Faster service than across the street.
(3)Diana R.
You had me at "unlimited fountain of horchata." I also had my first perfect taco here. It was magical. This has become one of those places I jump for joy for whenever company says "let's go to Taqueria El Rinconsito." Also, that's another thing. You can't just shorten up the name of this place, you always pronounce the entire name when addressing Taqueria El Rinconsito. Amazing food and amazing times. Only 4 stars though because I gets gassy.

Don't judge a book by its cover- totally true in this case! Awesome food with great prices! A total dive inside but the food is so fantastico it doesn't make a difference!

This place has exceptional Mexican food at really low prices and a salsa bar that is better than any I've seen in Seattle. Service is really quick.

I have been eating at Taqueria El Rinconsito for 10 years! I love this place. For a larger taco chain (they are everywhere), they are about as good, if not better than any taco truck (I remember when they were the taco truck!). I have been to a lot of there places throughout the area and they are consistently good. I didn't know how good they were until my recent trip to central Mexico. These are very comparable to any street taco stand down there. I know that is going to rub a few people wrong, but it my opinion. The carnitas are especially good, but I haven't had a bad thing there. If you try anything, go for the torta... awesome. I also love the people working there. They have always been very nice and the service is always quick.

almost wanted to shed a little tear of joy eating here for lunch. but then again, i was too busy eating and drinking. sometime i just need to sit down and have little bitty amazing tacos with unlimited drink refills. this menu is extensive, so really depending on your mood, who you are with, what time it is - go small or go nuts. they will pretty much satisfy most taqueria cravings: soups, tortas, quesadillas, gorditas, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, seafood, combo plates, kid's menus, and even dessert. and the price can't be beat!

Best taqueria I have ever been to. I went here for the first time about 2 weeks ago and have found myself going back 2 times since! I should probably "forget" where the place is located to save myself from having to buy a whole new wardrobe. Delicious food, great salsa bar, & friendly people. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I arrived home from work last night and GBF#1 was sitting on the chair he quickly asks me "what are you doing for dinner?" I reply "I was planning on doing something with the corn on the cob, zucchini, mushrooms, shallots and chorizo I have in the fridge." "Oh" he says. Later as we are watching people on TV eating El Pollo Loco he asks "are you sure you wouldn't want some guacamole and lying food*?" long pause "Hmm, where do you want lying food from? I'm over all West Seattle lying food." He doesn't know so the subject is dropped, but than I really start wanting lying food and so I head to yelp I knew this chain had a bunch of places so I looked for the one closest to us, less than 10 miles in Burien there was one. "So do you want to go on an adventure for lying food tonight?" I ask. "Sure!" he replies and off we went. The Google map directions took us to places we've never been before and next thing you know we are turning the corner on 16th Ave SW where the Taco Bell in White Center is, shocked and in awe we continue on our way. We finally pull up and GBF#1 says, "Wow this looks like an old Dunkin Donuts." It might have been for all we know. We head inside, so many options, so many pictures, so many salsas at the salsa bar. He decides on the pollo asado plate which was basically a half a chicken, served with rice, beans and tortillas. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I got three tacos, pollo, adobada and carnitas and a cheese quesadilla with guacamole and sour cream to share. The food was cheap and even though it was made fresh to order it arrived quickly, I barely had time to attack the salsa bar, the carrots by the way are extra tasty here. The pollo taco was my least favorite a little dry but with salsa added to it, it was good. The other two were muy delicioso! And the grilled onion and jalapeño served with it was a nice touch. The quesadilla was just like I expected and no cheddar cheese anywhere near it. Their guacamole was fresh and wonderful though the serving of it was small, oh well at least it was good and sans sour cream. GBF#1 loved his pollo asado plate, said everything was great, almost as great as El Pollo Loco and we both agreed that this may be our new favorite lying food place in Seattle. Him growing up in Vegas and going to school in Southern California and myself growing up in backyard Tijuana both have high expectations for taqueria type lying food and this has exceeded our expectations and made us both very, very happy last night. It was a good adventure this time. I've added the website, which will probably take yelp 3 to 4 weeks to update but the menu is there and the prices have gone up but everything is still cheap plus they have coupons to print and use to make it even cheaper! *lying food = Mexican food. My ex was Mexican and a BIG FAT LIAR so GBF#1 and I have renamed Mexican food lying food.

Good Mexican comfort food, we always stop by in our way home from the airport. Open late, even as late as 3am on some nights. Lots of free little sauces and salsa in a self serve bar.

I went here on the recommendation of a friend. I probably should have known better when I asked him if the food was good, and he answered enthusiastically that it was really inexpensive. I'll give them props for their corn tortillas, which are made from scratch, and are quite tasty and fresh. Two other good things were guacamole and their hot sauces. This is where the delicious train ends, though. I ordered their enchiladas regulares, and the enchilada sauce tasted like it came from a can of Spaghettios. Yech. The beef was chewy and fatty, overcooked to say the least. And the chicken was rubbery. The refried beans were the consistency of spackle, without much flavor. And the meal in general was overly salty. I'm not a food snob by any stretch, but needless to say I'm not going back.

Meh--average at best. Good value, however food quality leaves much to be desired. Also, one key issue was I ordered food with no guacamole as I am allergic, and there was some clear cross contamination on my food. BAD COOK NO DONUT.

Always loved this place, especially for a quick order of two tacos, and some orxata then back to work. The salsas here are second to none. Only niggle is that sometimes the staff don't seem to pleased that I'm in there...not sure what that's about. Nor do I care I just enjoy the food so much.

NOMMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and who can beat $1 per street taco!!!! Delicious!!!!

I always take my mother here when she wants Mexican food. The food is always wonderful. The place is always clean. They have a variety of salsa to choose from..including lime and condiments. (have as much as you want). The service is great! Alot of people go to Azteca or Montezuma but they have really become americanized since the 80's. If you want real, close to home cooked Mexican food, places like this is my best advice for anyone.

As good as it gets. Im from Texas and miss great Taqueria's. Love the tacos and freshly made tortillas. The staff is friendly and the food is tasty.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm tacos! I love tacos. Thanks to my good friends A & L for taking me there one night on the way home. I'm a WHIMP when it comes to spicy, but I love their tacos anyway. I usually add some sour cream at home to put out the fire, but I love it. I can't wait to go back and try some more yummy items off the menu!

If you're in Burien and you're wanting real deal Mexican food with no frills and no fuss, come here. A few notes for optimum enjoyment: *Dark red salsa- Great. Green- Good. Pico- Meh. *Skip the cabbage salad. *Get the pickled carrots (get these- they're gooood). *Horchata is very good here.. not too sweet and super tasty. *Steak Burrito is A+. *Mulitas are okay- I'll stick with the ones at El Asadero. *Chile Relleno plate looked fantastic- I'd probably get that next time. Nice staff, cheap, tasty, and fast. A nice alternative to.. well.. So, there's really nothing else to eat down here because I don't even consider fast food an alternative. There you go.

I was introduced to this place a few years back. And I still go there. You can think of the place as a taco truck, without the truck. The restaurant itself is clean and definitely has a mexican theme to it. It's actually a small chain of restaurants in the Puget Sound area. The staff is friendly and helpful. I usually order the tacos or the mulitas. All I have to say this version of mexican fast food beats the living crap out of typical chain american fast food (i.e. McDonalds) anyday. The tacos are soft shell, usually 2 layers of small flour tortillas, onions, cilantro, a mild sauce, and your choice of meat. Every now and then the meat can be a little grissly, but overall the quality has been good. Way better than anything you can get at Taco Bell or Taco Time. I bought some for my sister the other day, who was a little skeptical, but once she bit into it....oh was the munch fest on. The mulitas were just as good as the tacos. Rinconsito has much more to offer and it shows on their menu. I wish I could expand on this a little more, but everytime I go in those tacos call my name. I really do need to resist that calling and try some of their other dishes. The food has gotten a little more expensive over the last few years, but still worth it. It isn't gourmet, but this is how good mexican food should be. If your in the mood for tacos or mulitas give this place a shot. Hard to beat.

One sentence will say it all: Cheap, good quality and unlimited Horchata equals 5 stars.

Damn tasty and cheap.

This place is great! A group from work go here about once a week, and the food is excellent. I get the carne asada every time, for $9.00 its a great deal.

Dirty front of house & I can only imagine the back..... Never returning!

Stop it. Seriously, Rinconsito, stop it. You've wooed me with your flautas, like pillowy explosions of flavor. You've won me over with your taquitos and your decadently tasty beans and rice. But the real clincher was your beverage selection. The usual fountain sodas, yes, but also three ginormous vats of exotic fruit punch and the best gosh darn Horchata this gringa has ever tasted. So good, people. So good. Bonus: It's in Burien. That means you won't ever have to put your name on a waiting list or drive around the block 46 times until you find parking.

Yummy!!! Want to know what real Mexican food tastes like? Then come eat here!! tacos are o so could and very close to tacos that I grew up eating. The coctel (shrimp cocktail) was a little different because they put cucumber in it which I am not accustomed to and it was less tomato-ey, but they give you a bottle of tomato sauce that is almost like ketchup, but still good. prices were great! Even compared to Texas, which is Mexican food heaven. Definitely go here if you get a chance!
