Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Reasonable. Friendly. Greasy. Not great.

This is some legit stuff! The guy who owns the store (I wish I remembered his name) was super nice and helped the bf and I decide what to get. We're so indecisive. We ended up getting the sausage calzones and YUM! It had an entire sausage in it...like literally...an entire Italian sausage. Rad! It was pretty good. There was a little TOO much sauce for my liking, but the bf didn't mind. I'd like to come back and try the pizza sometime.

The pizza seems to have changed dramatically over the years. Every year we have gone here and there is something different with the same pizza. This will probably be the last year we go there after seeing the quality. It seems to have gone from ingredients made from scratch to store bought mass produced crap. Tried the salad for the first time and it was horrible and tasted old so i had to throw it out for fear of food poisoning. The only reason we have kept going back is because we wanted the same pizza we got the first time. I know realize that its just not going to happen and it is time to move on.

From Connecticut one thing is a good east coast style pizza. Rex Sox Italian guy in there make me wanna say "fuck the east coast!" Great pie! I brb.

This was my 3rd or 4th time in. Today, my family and I had a pepperoni pizza, two salads, 4 drinks and a cannoli, total price was about $45. On previous outings, I have had the calzone, or a pizza by the slice. It is not a quick stop over from my house and not usually a convenient stop but have had good food each time I have gone in, so I will continue to go back. Pizza today was very good. Salads were good too. Portions are big enough to share so the prices is right for a family meal. And I have always had friendly service going in! This is a local restaurant, run by a family. Let's shop local!
(4)Benjamin V.
Friendly staff, recommended the calzone and I bought the calzone. It was probably the best piece of food I've ever eaten. There are lots of places that claim to have calzones and what you get is something inferior that is clearly not a calzone, but this place has it right.
(5)Kimmie W.
I LOVE the calzones! so good and the owners are so nice. never had a bad experience there :) my go too place for yummy italian food.
(5)Jacob H.
I'm not sure why there is so much negativity. I thought the pizza and calazone was delicious! Don can be a little stubborn but I think that comes with the name: Boston's. Great food and fun environment! I will go there again I'm in the area!
(4)Ian C.
Great food with reasonable prices. Best subs and pizza in town. Friendly staff who are involved in local community events such as the 9-11 and Veterans memorial. I go there for lunch at least once a week. Just talked with Don. New ovens are being installed after Christmas. They are east coast pizza ovens and are more old fashion than the one he currently has. The good thing about the old ones is better control so the pizza comes out perfect.

If you want dried out food that has been sitting under a heat lamp with a side of sauce that has little tomato taste then eat here....else go somewhere else. Throwing up in your mouth might taste better and leave you feeling better for not having eaten the calories.
(1)George M.
To be honest, the pizza was just horrible. Dry, hard, and luke warm. It had clearly been sitting there for a while, which I take responsibility for not realizing that. On the flip side, they shouldn't have served it. The staff was friendly enough, but kind of pushy and clearly dimwitted. The gal behind the counter looked at me in a confused fashion when I asked about wi-fi, as if I was speaking a foreign language. I will never eat here again. If I went back to my food options near the ferry, I would probably look closer at subway then I did. Also, the staff should not just assume you want something because you had never been there before. That is just rude. One star for poor service and poor food.
(1)Quinn R.
Pizza here is fantastic but where they really shine are the calzones. The Calzone is loaded with everything great. It's basically happiness wrapped up in some delicious bread then baked. Get one. You won't regret. Also solid lunch special, two slices and a soda. And..and...Diet Dr. Pepper! I always get way to excited when I see this.
(4)Greg T.
Easily the best pizza and calzones in the area. Also, Boston Don and his wife are the most friendly people you will ever meet. This is the only place to go for pizza!
(5)J And M D.
AMAZING PIZZA AND CALZONES!! My fiance and I took a ferry from Seattle over to Bremerton and stopped in here for lunch. We tried their signature calzone, which was wonderful. It was made with several fresh Italian meats, a wonderful cheese filling, and a marinara sauce loaded with fresh herbs and flavor. Even though they were out of cheese pizza at the time, the owner gladly offered to bake a fresh one so we could order a few slices...and it happened to be the best pizza we've had since we moved to the Northwest 8 months ago. The crust had a perfectly crisp outer texture, yet the middle was still moist and flavorful. Once again, the sauce was spot on. Mixing with the perfect amount of cheese, we enjoyed every last bite! In addition, the customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly and eager to ensure that each guest had a pleasant visit. We would highly recommend Boston's Deli and Pizza. It was the highlight of our trip!
(5)David N.
"Best Pizza in Bremerton"????? Really? What is the source for that claim? I would argue "among the worst pizza in Bremerton". Dry and too thick crust. Skimped on the tomato paste (aka "sauce" - it's really crappy), and no toppings on the 2 slices I tried worth any redeeming comments. Did I mention it's dry? Buy two beers. You'll need it.
(2)Jim F.
Tried this place for the second time and won't be back. Food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Had a beer and a calzone and the bill before tip was over $11. The calzone seems to have been sitting around all day as it was dry and tasteless. Also, was on the small side. Thought about adding a small side salad, but for $6 more bucks, thought differently. On the upside, service was quick but how hard is it to get a premade calzone from the display and throw it on a plate. A restaurant like this could be a goldmine if the food was made or at least heated up fresh for each customer! If you want good italian food there are much better places.
(2)Richard R.
I read the reviews, but couldn't find a more convenient place to get dinner so I tried it anyways. The service was about as friendly as a New York cabbie....they used the wrong name. As another poster stated the food is just cooked and then reheated when you order it. I had thought that the calzone would be something fresh, but the guy just grabbed it out of a display case and had someone else heat it up. The heartburn is just starting......its going to be a tough night...... Nothing good to report about this place at all!..............steer clear.....
(1)Franklin A.
Awful, Awful, Awful!!! The Calzone is more of a Stromboli and was not at all good, especially not for being a "key" menu item. It was grossly overpriced for the size/quality and came with a weird smelling/tasting tomato sauce. Worst of all, it's not even freshly made, they just grab it from a warming box and reheat it. I also had the Wings, which was even worse than the Calzone (read Stromboli). Same deal with the Wings too, they just reheat pre-made food and serve it "fresh" with a side of that odd tomato sauce mentioned above. Overall this joint was a complete fail and I will absolutely not be returning. The food was a disgrace to all legitimate pizza joints! Matter a fact, it's been an hour or so since I've attempted to finish this terrible food and I can't help but feel sick to my stomach. Hopefully it won't be a long night.... :-?
(1)Jenna M.
Really good pizza spot downtown. Their calzones are HUGE, tasty and very satisfying. Excellent lunch spot for a quick bite....the pizza special is always good!
(3)Brian W.
Wow, why the positive reviews here? I read several and was excited to try this place when we were in town for the weekend. I was sorely disappointed. We stopped in around noon on a Sunday. Bremerton is dead at this hour. We were the only people in the place. I suspect the pizza slices I bought had been rotating in their glass prison since the place opened at 11. The slices were dry, not enough sauce, hard crust, and enough oregano on them to kill a horse. Come on guys, I can make a better pizza in my garage with a propane torch. This is Boston pizza? Now I'm glad I've never been there. The only reason this place doesn't get one star is that I didn't vomit. Parking was easy on a Sunday but I imagine it sucks the rest of the week because you just have the street or some pay lots.
(2)Yong Y.
the calzone is motherfucking delicious. came here to take the ferry to seattle and almost decided on some random european food spot. went here instead and i'm glad i did. first thing i saw was the "voted best pizza in bremerton." yeah, except bremerton's population is like 30. in any case i moseyed on inside and was immediately told by cheryl to take off the hat before ordering. i immediately complied, because she looked pretty gangster and her husband was waving around the pizza shovel menacingly behind her. of course they were kidding but everything in there was boston related. every. fucking. thing. they don't leave any doubts to who they're fans of. nonetheless, i ordered the calzone. MMM MMMM BITCH! marvelous. black forest ham, hand ground italian sausage, capicola, ricotta, and mozzarella made for the best calzone i ever had. i will never eat another calzone unless it's from boston's deli. the sauce was basic but served moreso as a compliment to the immense flavor of the main baked slice of mouth sex i had. reasonable prices too. 3 bigass calzones and sodas with free refills was around 26 bucks or so. cheryl and don are really nice/funny. great hosts and they checked on us to see if we needed anything after we were served. if you try their calzone and don't like it... i'm going to drive a zamboni through your fucking living room. and not leave any insurance information. because that's how i roll.
(5)Drew R.
You must have a calzone from here. Seriously, do it.
(5)Gabriel G.
Another godawful dining experience in a city that already has plenty of godawful dining experiences. "I've had better pasta in TV dinners" would be an understatement. As a matter of fact, every pasta TV dinner I have ever had has been better than the $12+ "Fetuccini Alfredo" I had here. Budget Gourmet, Lean Cuisine, Trader Joe's. You name it. All much better. I wanted to like this place. I'd taken the ferry over from Seattle, and my girlfriend and I had a hankering for pasta. I've had plenty of pizza joint pasta, and I wasn't expecting a miracle, but I thought Alfredo was always at least edible. There pizza is passably medicore, and their vegetarian pizza has some unusual toppings like broccoli. Said "Fetuccini Alfredo," which seemed like overcooked microwaved pasta with crisco and not-quite-melted parmesan pieces was served on one half of a plastic plate next to a weird-looking not-so-fresh salad with huge strips of green peppers and other oddities next to sad-looking greens. The bleu cheese dressing was mayonnaisey and disgusting. One of the staff members seemed perplexed when he brought a French dip sandwich to my table, convinced that I, not someone else, must have ordered it, and I said it wasn't mine. Dinner for two (one slice of pizza, one pasta dinner, and one soda) ended up costing just over $20. This has been my experience with a lot of restaurants in Bremerton. After passing the Starbucks, Subway, Coldstone, and several empty storefronts, I would like to support the local businesses, but most of them do not appear to be even trying. Bad food, bad service, and high prices. Although it was disgusting (between two people, we actually choked most of it down with lots of salt and pepper), the pasta was thoroughly entertaining to look at. I would have returned it, but I didn't want to ruin the kid behind the counter's evening or make a scene in front of the other patrons. I won't be back), and I won't be sad when this becomes another empty storefront.
(1)Laura M.
I've been holding off on reviewing Boston's for awhile now, because I really want to support a restaurant that's been in downtown Bremerton as long as this one has, which is why I'm giving them three stars (when I probably should only rate them two). Each time I visit, I keep hoping the food will get better, and each time I end up leaving a bit more disappointed than the last. Here's the good: Boston's definitely has a place in Bremerton. No one else is open late to serve a slice to hungry ferry-goers coming back from late night concerts and sporting events in Seattle. They have a semi-decent range of choices in pizza varieties, and it seems they make their crust from scratch, always a must in my book when it comes to making pizza. And the prices are reasonable - I can usually get out of there for $6, feeling full and hydrated. The not-so-good: I'm not really sure how fresh the ingredients are. I've eaten more than one slice of pizza with rancid tasting meat, or a definite funk of some kind from sharing an oven with another bad ingredient. The cannolis were really awful -- tasted like cream cheese mixed with powdered sugar, stuffed into a cold, soggy, fried shell. The calzones are OK, but in general most items are a little too heavy, not quite fresh tasting, and a bit of a gut bomb. Perhaps Boston-style pizza is supposed to be heavy? I prefer the NY style, or even the authentic Italian style, thin crust pizza with super fresh ingredients. That, this is not. I think the owners have a good thing started here, which could be even better if they work on the quality of the food a bit. But perhaps their usual clientele doesn't notice quality much. The abundance of bars in the area combined with their late-night hours make me believe they get a lot of folks coming in for a slice post-drinking, and after all, what doesn't taste good at that point?
(3)Frank S.
My daughter who lives in Bremerton told me about Boston's and how they have the best pizza and calzones. Being from Los Angeles, I listened to her but knew that there were around 20 better pizza places in L.A. While visiting my daughter, Boston's was the first place she took me after getting off of the ferry. After the first bite of our Pepperoni and Sausage pizza, I realized that she was right. This pizza ranks right up there with the best piZza places I've eaten. I came back 2 weeks later and went straight back there. This will be my first stop everytime I return.

We had just met and adopted a new dog nearby and were looking for a place to just get him some water and we stopped by here. My boyfriend came back out with a bowl and some bottled water which made our new doggie happy. Then the woman who works there came out to meet our dog and was super friendly and nice to him. And the man ( I think her husband? ) came out with some black forest ham for our pup. Apparently he knows all the dogs in the area. And then she brought us some pizza just because she didn't want us to go hungry waiting to take the ferry back. It was so sweet of her! And bonus, the pizza was really really good too! And then she gave us directions to a Petsmart nearby so we could stock up while waiting for the ferry. Super sweet folks, and super tasty pizza. I wish they were closer to Seattle.
(5)Unjeela G.
My bf came here today and wanted me to update on his behalf. he's not a complainer or picky eater, so this says something i think: "either it's a bad off day or went downhill. calzone bread was hard, overall tasted like something you'd find sitting all day in the safeway store deli. i had to go use the bathroom a lot afterward too." aw :(
(2)Stacia W.
I have eaten there pizza several times, I have never actually eaten in the store, I have always ordered to go. I have only had their pizza and I have never been disappointed. I was reading the reviews and I guess can't comment because I haven't eaten those items on the menu. But my experience has been nothing but great! I LOVE BOSTONS!
(4)J.P. E.
Being from NY I am picky when it comes to pizza. I've tried this place twice, on two completely seperate visits to this area. The second visit was no different from the first. The fact that its called Boston Pizza and the place is plastered with Red Sox memorobilia, and I'm from NY is not the reason I am putting this place down...I am a Met's fan anyway. The owner of the place is a nice guy-and good conversationalist, but that doesnt help the pizza at all. First thing is first- the pizza is cooked in a bagel oven! That should tell you something right there. Number 2- If you order a slice or two, they take one of the slices that have been sitting under a heat lamp glass box; like one of those preztel spinny things they have at a ball game. You can tell the sauce comes from a giant can of something thats labeled "sauce", but it isnt sauce. And the cheese tasted like it came from the Walmart half price section. If you want your stomach to hate you all night long, this is the place for you... I'd rather eat domino's...
(1)Henry R.
I've never had the pizza before, because the calzones are so delicious.
(4)Jason P.
The delicious smell of baking pizza pulled me in a couple of days ago. I was greeted warmly with big smiles and such a hearty "Good afternoon" that I was actually startled. Despite the incredible smell of the pizza that had drawn me in by the nose, for some reason when the gentleman asked to take my order, my mouth blurted out "calzone". My calzone came out immediately and was brought to me in the "Boston Room", which was covered in Red Sox memorabilia. I really liked the atmosphere and the lady who brought it to me was extraordinarily friendly. The calzone though, left me disappointed. The outside was hard and the inside was lukewarm. To their credit, I believe I got the last calzone left, as the next customer that came in had to wait for a fresh batch to finish baking. Business was slow at that time so I think my calzone had probably been sitting around for a while. It had the makings of a really good calzone, and probably would have been much better if it were hot and fresh. The scent of pizza taunted me throughout the whole meal, reminding me I should have ordered a couple of slices. I'll definitely give it another shot though.
(3)Aloysha J.
Pizza is amazing!! Great for sports games. I recommend the canolli.
(5)Carly M.
Been here a couple times. First time I had meatball pizza and it was amazing. Meatball pizza is my favorite and they do a great one. I got cheesy garlic sticks the next time. They were good but very heavy. Definatly a good place for a quick lunch.
(4)Brandon F.
Boston's has one of the best lunch specials around. Two big slices and a drink for $5.99. There are three main reasons I love Bostons: One -- The pizza. They don't skimp on the amount or quality of the toppings, and there's plenty of delicious cheese. The crust is on the thick side, which makes for a really filling slice. The sauce is tasty, and the selection of pies available by the slice is superb... mediterranean, hawaiian, pepperoni, etc. My personal favorite is the sausage and mushroom. The sausage is in thin slices of tasty goodness instead of those little balls of gristle that you might get at one of the national chains. Two -- Fountain drink selection. I think it's so cool they have Diet Dr. Pepper... you just don't see that enough around here. One time I accidentally added a little dash of lemonade to my 16oz DDP by bumping the wrong lever. Nowadays if you see me doing it, it's on purpose. Three -- The owner. He's really friendly and I've gotta give him props for playing music that spills out the door and onto the street. It just puts you in a good mood even if you're just walking by. He really seems to care about the community and takes seriously his responsibility to provide the neighborhood with delicious pizza. So, I'm hooked. I consider it some of the best pizza on the Kitsap peninsula.
(4)Brian H.
Boston's is amazing! My wife had been with some friends before and she talked it up so much before I ended up going with her and some friends to give it a try. I had the calzone and it was absolutely delicious and the price was right as well. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. We were given a free round of cannolis and Easter cookies and we were visited by the owner multiple times and he was so friendly! Don't listen to the bad reviews, the food and service is more than worth at least one trip to decide for yourself. I'll be back again soon for sure.
(5)Adrian R.
After we moved into our house we were looking for a place to treat the guys who helped us moved to some pizza and someone suggested Boston's. Fantastic Pizza. Really hit the spot for us. Crisp crust. Perfect sauce. The pizzas are large and full of toppings. We've been back a few times for sandwiches, calzones, wings, and Cannolis and found them all to be great. Good beer as well. Do yourself a favor and wear a Boston hat in sometimes. If the owner is in you might just find yourself with a discount for being a Boston fan.
(5)Travis F.
We were in Bremerton today and walked in. Pizza and calzones were great and the sandwiches were packed with meat and cheese. The decor is great with all the old baseball cards and memorabilia on display. The service was good and very very friendly. I will go there again next time I'm in Bremerton.
(4)Kerri A.
I want to make this simple. If you really know what it means to appreciate food from an authentic East Coast Italian deli than this is the place for you. Just looking at the pizza I knew I was not going to be disappointed. Even the crust was hard not to eat. Before leaving I took a cannoli to go and I was hooked. It's the real deal and this will become my new spot when I have to take trips over to Bremerton. Too bad their not in Seattle because they'd get a lot more of my business.
(5)Jacob K.
A pretty good place to get some food in Bremerton, but the food just wasn't all that great. I mean it was ok but it just wasn't all that good. The person serving food was a jerk and acted like she hadn't had her coffee yet though it was noon. I would say just go to the Subway by the ferry dock.
(3)Nicholas W.
True East Coast cuisine. Authentic Boston pizza sauce, great service, you can tell even the owner is from Boston from the thick accent. Great selection of beers, to include Yuengling (my personal favorite). This trip was a Italian sub, a slice of cheese and slice of pepperoni pizza and all tasted great. Only drawback was the cheese bread sticks were cooked earlier the warmed up in the microwave. But even still they weren't soggy at points or over cooked like you can get at home. Picked up the take out menu and looking forward to ordering from them later.
(5)Shelby C.
This wouldn't be my go-to pizza place, honestly, but their italian sub was really really good!
(3)Ernest S.
Nice place for a brew and a slice of great tasting pizza while waiting for the ferry. Hand thrown pizza, $2 Sam Adams on tap, friendly staff. Doesn't get any better.
(4)George C.
If you're looking for authentic Italian pizza and calzones...made by a guy straight from the streets of East Boston, this is it. Don's a solid guy, great host and deals fantastic calzones! Red Sox fans especially welcome!
(4)Angie K.
When My husband and I moved to Bremerton we ate Bostons pizza and calzones pretty much every day for like the first week we were here. We had to take a break because we were going to be 400 pounds soon if not careful, but I still crave those calzones every once in a while. Bostons is great for it's slices. They have a deal, get two big slices and a soda for like 7 bucks. The owner is great and very friendly. They just got beer so it's a great place to stop in and take a load off. It is very close to the ferry and I wish they were open a little later, (There's been many a night after being out in Seattle and getting off the last ferry, that I wish I could get a pizza to satisfy those late night munchies!) but that goes for just about every place in Bremerton. Stop in to Boston's. You'll be glad you did!
(5)Rob G.
Great Pizza and even better Calzones! Owners are awesome people who really value their customers and Bremerton.
(5)Aloha O.
I'm writing this in for my mom who ate here. This ties into the other reviewer saying her meat has tasted rancid before. My mom, her husband and all three of his kids got sick from eating here before. And yes, we're sure it was from here.
(1)Krishna T.
Best Pizza in town. We tried all the pizza places around and finally settled here. Its the best. Little pricey but worth it. The sandwiches are also good. I tried their meatball sandwich. It was nice. I wish they did delivery and the price little lower - that would give it a 5 star rating.
(4)Megan M.
This NOT the Boston's Pizza chain! It is 1000x better!!! True Bostons pizza style. My family is from Boston and I still had trouble understanding him explain the menu, just ask him to speak slower, and remember there is no "r" in the Boston language, it "ah"
(5)Jen F.
One of the worst, if not THE worst pizza I've ever had. Everything about this pizza tasted canned from the sauce to the toppings, and the crust was like cardboard. Cost us $30 for one calzone and a pizza. My husband ate the calzone, which is the ONLY reason I'm giving two stars. After one slice of pizza we threw it away. Yuck. What a waste.
(2)Isadore F.
Canzones were great and the salad was fresh with carrots to boot. You could taste the 'home made' goodness. Good value.
(4)Shawn K.
I had the calzone full of fresh ingredients, and I have to say it was just perfect. The meal was served quickly and hot. The most amazing part was after the last bite it left me wanting more. The service was exemplary, the atmosphere welcoming and view of the water made my experience delightful. Thanks to the whole staff.
(5)James Z.
If it was possible to give less than one star I would. I am appalled by the way I was just treated by the manager. My husband and I have been wanting g to stop by for some time now so we decided to pick up some sandwiches for our picnic lunch with our family sunday. I opened up my sandwich when I got there and none of the toppings I ordered in my turkey sandwich were on it. Just lettuce and cheese. So I called to tell them and he said come get your money back what do you want me to do and hung up. I came in today to get it back and he asked if I was a navy wife and said hun you are what give navy wives a bad rep, wow. I am in complete shock. It is my fault that they didn't make my ten dollar sandwich the way I wanted it? I could not believe he spoke to me this way.
(1)Doug W.
We stopped in here after touring the USS Turner Joy DD 951 museum across the street and weren't disappointed. The ladies enjoyed a slice of out of the oven cheese pizza while my bro went for the Calzone and I had the Stromboli both were great! I wish this place was near my home in Torrance.
(5)Matt Y.
You need to order the "don" pizza. It is quite simply the best pizza you'll ever eat. Reviews don't do it the justice it deserves. Calzones are ok, salads ok, setting a tad funky. But for the best pizza ever you need to try Bostons.
(4)Jennifer C.
Amazing Calzones! I have never tried Boston style pizza before but it's going to be hard to compete with how good this place is!!
(5)Shelby J.
Staff was sweet and explained all the ingredients. Very knowledgeable about their food. Pizza was amazing.
(5)Nelly T.
The hubby loves this place but I think it's just pretty ok. He would get the calzones here and I would get a slice of pizza. It's decently priced and the portions are pretty big. I feel like I've had better elsewhere but that's probably because I love really complicated flavors in my food and also simple classic flavors (like a slice of cheese pizza from NYC). I feel Boston's falls just in the middle. I wasn't wowed but it wasn't bad.
(3)J P.
Very good pizza and a very good price. Authentic Boston feel, as the owner is from there and loves his old city.
(4)Blake G.
Decent pie, but could the regulars please tell this hard headed Italian fella to ease up on the Oregano. Oregano shines through too loudly!!!
(3)Joe C.
Best Pizza joint I've found out here in the PNW. Sometimes you need a solid slice. Stromboli was delicious. And for all those complaining about the oregano, every slice I've had here in Seattle has been under seasoned. You don't know good pizza.
(5)Wes M.
My wife and I stopped in here yesterday, we both had a craving for a good sandwich but sadly didn't find one here. First off let me say that the staff working were super friendly and explained what they had to offer and couldn't have been nicer. Being that we've never been there before we decided to try the pizza and a meatball sub. Disappointed on both. Pizza was just ok, not a a lot of flavor for a combo pizza, almost tasted like it was a frozen pizza slightly under cooked. The meatball sub was ok. The bread of the sandwich was fresh soft and tasted good and the marinara sauce wasn't very flavorful. The meatball were pretty boring too, basically just hamburger balls with cheese and tomato sauce. Maybe they were having an off day on our trip but I'm not sure I would stop in again.

Love the pizza here! We came pretty late and ordered pizza by the slice so it was not as fresh or hot as we typically like, but the taste was great and the price matched! The restaurant was quiet and empty, but we sat down in a corner and watched a baseball game as we ate our dinner. Looking forward to trying it again.

I don't know how this place has so many bad reviews!! If you are on the fence give this place a try. Being from the Boston area I felt right at home at this place. Lots of Boston stuff all over the place. The owner is such a nice guy. You can tell he's really genuine and hardworking and puts a lot into his business and takes good care of his customers. We had just come back from a day in Seattle and ordered a pizza, garlic cheese bread, and some canolis to bring home for dinner. The pizza was huge-- so big we couldn't fit it in the fridge. Delicious. The garlic bread was good, and the canoli's were awesome!! Will definitely be back for more!! Thanks Don. Go Sox!

OK when you think "pizza" does Boston come to mind? No? Well, that would be your first indication that going here for pizza is a mistake. Worse than one star!!! This is THE WORST! I've had better pizza at a 7-11. Maybe when the pizza is fresh its good, but if you're thinking about going for dinner, think again. They leave the pizza sitting in one of those lame ass countertop glass cabinets until its hard as a rock and the cheese is nasty as hell. And the little boys (maybe girls... can't tell) behind the counter look at each other and giggle like their in on some kind of joke. Well that's because they are. They know exactly how old those slicer are. Then they serve it to you!!! Don't get me started on the calzone. Looked like a burnt tart. tasted like it had sat on a counter all day... BECAUSE IT HAD! Here's a tip. Spend more time on the pizza and less on the lame ass decor. And please make the employee behind the counter pull up their skinny jeans. I don't care if they're girls or boys... That shit is stupid looking.

We enjoyed great pizza and stromboli served up by Don, a northeastern Italian character (really nice guy)!

Best pizza in kitsap county, by far. Possibly the whole state. This place was recommended to me by a friend shortly after i moved to kitsap county. They have ruined me for life, and now this is the only pizza I want! They use fresh ingredients on every thing. Their crust is excellent, and their sauce is perfectly complimenting. They give you HUGE chunks of sausage here. Fred Flintstone sized sausage pieces! Their veggies taste fresh and i love that their sauce doesn't over power every thing. Their calzones are my favorite thing here. They taste freshly made. The crust is soft, doughy and yet, crispy around the edges. Best calzone you'll ever have...probably. I even had a cannoli here and wasn't expecting much from a pizza joint. It was actually really good! Their prices are really fair for what you're getting, and their lunch specials are a great deal. You wont be disappointed!

Stopped in near closing time and asked the attendant what was good. He said the calzone and told us about the five meat calzone. It sounded amazing so I ordered it. Once I paid he went to the warmer and grabbed the calzone on a plate and handed it to the guy that was cleaning the floor. That gentlemen added a side of marinara to the plate and called my order. The calzone was tasty, but would have been far better if it had been made fresh and not sat for an hour or so in the warmer.

Had a cannoli here with my mom, delicious! Didn't have a pizza but they look so good we're going to come back. The guy that owns the place, I think, he rocks he's so nice, gave us free coffee with our cannoli. We're coming back real soon for the pizza and the great staff!

So I stop in here for lunch, and I start to browse the menu, when someone comes up and very quickly asks me what I want and if this is my first time here. As soon as I answer yes to the second question, he automatically decides that I will have a calzone. And before I can answer 'Whoa, bro, hold the hell on!,' a calzone is retrieved, cut and placed in front of me. I can understand having confidence in the product you're selling, but he came off as kind of pushy. I'm assuming his thought process was: Plan A: Calzone We never got to plan B. But it probably involved an explosion of some kind. So I fill my drink, grab a fork and knife and seat myself. Oddly enough, for a place called Boston's, there wasn't a lot of Bruins, Patriots or Celtics memorabilia, but I may have been sitting in a different spot from that stuff. When I asked the contents of the calzone, I managed to make out mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage and oregano in the hurricane of words. There was also some ham and a lot more cheese. It came with a side of sauce that was really good, and portioned enough for the entire calzone. Now this wasn't the best calzone I've ever had (That title belongs to my lovely wife's. I'd like to think the cook would understand), but it was the most pretty good calzone I've ever had. I liked the taste and consistency of the cheese. Around nine bucks for the meal, which makes is a pretty good deal for those going to/from the ferry or who work at the shipyard. But the weirdest part came when I was leaving. I had a downright pleasant conversation with the aforementioned calzone cannon. And as I left, he ominously informed me 'Next time, you'll have the Italian Sub.' I don't want to see what happens if I don't have the Italian Sub.

Greasy shrimp scampi with no seasoning . Soggy cheese bread. No marinara sauce. Bad customer service when i called initally. Then after getting my togo order and coming back to my hotel room no less then a block away I tried my food. When after tasting it was inedible i called to speak to a "supervisior" who told me i could come back to the restaurant for a prompt refund. When i went back, the 16 years olds refused to give me a refund because "that is how the food is always made" SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I was ripped off and didn't even get to eat anything. SOGGY CHEESE BREAD AND GREASE FILLED MINI SHRIMP SCAMPI WITH NO SEASONING..... HORRIBLE! Do your self a favor if you are in the area DO NOT EAT HERE.... It is gross and they won't give you a refund,

The owners are extremely nice and deserve to be that neighborhood place you pop into and have a slice. I've been here twice and both times I got cold old pizza. You can tell the pizza is good when fresh and warm but two times. I will go one more time but three strikes your out.

Wandered in off the street from the smell and it was excellent calzones were great. !!!!

Get the Calzone!

I had lunch here last weekend and it was great. I had a ham and swiss sandwich. The bread was tasty! Tasted home made to me. I also had the cheesy garlic bread. It wasn't very busy so I chatted with the table next to me which ordered salads and a pizza. They loved both! I did not think my sandwiches w/chips ($5) was overpriced nor the bread ($5). I'll go back!

Okay, not this is now fancy place and yes, it does have plastic forks and knives and paper plates so that is the only reason I didn't give it five stars. I've had the pizza twice now and both times it was fantastic. Better than just about any other pizza place I can think of. I'm not a fan of calzone so I haven't tried them. The pizza is made fresh and put in one of those big glass boxes with heat lamps and you order it by the slice. I think I paid something like 8 bucks for two slices with a drink. These are large slices also. Not those wimpy things you get at other pizza places. It looks like a small family business and I have always been welcomed warmly. I see they get a lot of regulars in from the Navy and fire department also. Bottom line: I will be back many more times and I will bring friends too.

I stopped in here after seeing it for over a year now. It was right after a parade in Bremerton and I was a bit confused as to where to order, when to pay, etc. I'm going to guess if there weren't large groups of people walking in all at one time it would have been a bit more clear. I ordered a meatball sandwich. The sandwich was clearly not done too fresh and I'm pretty sure they microwaved everything to make it. I get having pre-cooked meatballs and sauce, but the cheese could have at least been melted in an oven. The bread wasn't crispy at all which leads me to believe it was a micro. The staff working was extremely friendly. When I asked for a bathroom the lady directed me to the one around back rather than the one up front since it was nicer. I think next time I'll likely try a slice or two of pizza. I came in and didn't notice they sold by the slice since it wasn't on the main menu on the wall (at least that I noticed).

I love their pizzas! Don knows how to make 'em. They have those sausage slices that curl up a little at the edges as they cook. Oh yeah, babe. This is east coast pizza. And the cannolis! Delicious! Tell me, where can you find authentic Italian cannolis around here? Vito Corleone himself would be proud to eat these things! And if you're in a hurry, get a calzone to go. They're HUGE!

We've tried Bostons a couple times now and have been dissatisfied both times. The calzones are simply okay. The pizza was horrible both times. The first time we ordered takeout so who knows how long it sat under the heat lamp. The second time we were in the area and popped in for lunch. We ordered a fresh pizza with the same results: the crust seemed burnt and overly dry and the overall flavor was just bland. I think we just ate a slice a piece and trashed the rest. I know many people who really like their pizza and I will never understand why.

OK, I read the reviews and I was already getting down on the place but we had a business lunch here so.... I arrived right at 11:00 am and ordered a calzone. I was expecting a fresh one or at least a few minutes wait but, instead, I turned my head to grab my drink and there was a styrofoam plate with my pre-prepared lunch on it. I should've been sitting in the front room with the baseball field mural because this was strike one! The calzone was lukewarm and there was no melty goodness to be had. The outer "shell" was hard and the available plastic fork and knife were no match for this calzone turtle! Eventually I ended up picking up the whole thing and eating it with my hands instead. The calzone was all right - nothing special, but, then again, maybe it's better when it's fresh and warm. The accompanying sauce was average and definitely nothing to write home about. I ended up adding red pepper flakes to it to make it less generic-tasting. My co-workers arrived later and ended up with what looked like fresh and tasty pizza slices, making me wish I'd been running late. Bottom line - don't be first and MAYBE your food experience will be better than mine was. All I know is that I won't be going back for seconds by choice.

We asked what was good. The guy at the counter started telling us about this amazing calzone. Yes! We'll take two! He walks over, pulls out 2 pre-made calzones from the warmer, who knows how long they had been sitting there. He then hands them to the guy mopping the floor. He splits them, and hands them to us with a bowl of marinara. Supremely disappointing. Hard bread and not hot.

Amazingly bad pizza. Hard dry crust, hard dry cheese, tomato sauce tastes like stale dried herbs. Someone should buy this place for its excellent location and do anything else, it would be an improvement. Minus more stars for the decor and the FALSE ADVERTISING on the windows.

Was in town for a few days and this was our first stop. We had the DON and were not disappointed, go here for good pizza

best calzone this side of Italy. great place, great people. just like home

Not very good. I once bought pots and pans from a CVS, and the coating would flake off into my food. The sauce at Boston's tastes like those pans.

Coming from Boston we were excited to see Boston's. We were extremely disappointed with the food...everyone of us (7). Seriously, selling Boston subs and not having Peppers? They offered dried Red Peppers you put on pizza or jalapeños. Even if you aren't going to make a real sub, make it appetizing in the very least. We did order three sliced of pizza while we waited for the subs, they were not bad but not anything we'd go back for. I love the Sox and was really hoping to find more than appealing decor.

Wicked awesome! This tiny little speakeasy-of--pizza parlor certainly packs a punch! We stopped here while waiting for the museum to open. These folks love Beantown. In fact, one corner of the joint is painted like the outfield at Fenway -- Green Monster, Citgo sign and all. Cheryl, one of the owners, greeted us and quickly tempted us with the calzone. All calzones are the same and they are packed with a smorgasboard of meats and cheeses - sausage, pepperoni, black forest ham, mozzarella, cappicola, ricotta, parmesan, romano, salami and provolone - BAM! And the side of marinara sauce adds a little more spice to this maneater of a 'zone -yum! Top it off with an Alaskan Amber Ale and you have a masterpiece of Yastrzemski-like proportions.

This update has been long overdue! I would strongly encourage people to order a freshly made pie. Because the slices that are left out are not nearly as good. I suggest the pepperoni and esp. the Mediterranean Pie: it is the most creative and tasty pizza on the menu. It consists of mozzarella cheese, feta cheese, olives and onions with a nice semolina infused crust. The subs are all amazing and sit between a nice fresh homemade loaf of Italian Bread. The Godfather, the Philly Cheese Steak, and The Don Bomb are my faves. The Calzones are still as yummy as ever! In closing, I implore everyone to try Don's amazing canoli's! I give Boston's 5 stars because they are the best pizza within a 10 mile radius on the peninsula. If they were in Seattle I would give 4 stars because they are very good. But their competition in Bremerton and Silverdale consists of Tommy's Pizza ( which is hot garbage!) and your garden variety local chains.
