We love this place except for one thing: the sheets are too small. Housekeeping can't seem to make the beds so the bottom sheet stays on. I was up and down all night, putting it back on. I complained and they made the bed again, with another sheet that was too small. How hard can it be to make a bed properly, at this price?

Love this place! have stayed here twice. Very clean. Very friendly front desk staff. Home made chocolate chip cookies when you check in! Nice lounge where you can read about local restaurants, read books, or enjoy coffee or tea throughout the day. Breakfast is nice and healthy (and included!) All around fantastic! The only downside is the train whistle. You can hear it from any hotel or inn within miles of the Bay, but still - kind of annoying.

Each time my family or friends visit, I make sure to reserve a room at the Fairhaven Village Inn. The front desk staff are welcoming and truly helpful. The rooms have received great reviews from my mom, my brother, and my family from Italy. The price is reasonable for the area and it is close to good food and tourist attractions.

My husband and I stayed here after the Neko Case concert. We had a lovely, large room with a comfortable bed and amazing view of the bay. The continental breakfast was very inclusive, and homey in the breakfast nook. The parking is in a private area. This hotel is very neat; a special charm to add to the beauty of Fairhaven.

The Fairhaven village inn is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. That being said, the management is TERRIBLE!!! please beware of their offers and over chargers. My family booked a total of FOUR rooms from this hotel for my wedding and one room didn't even have enough amenities for the three people in the room. When my dad called to book rooms the staff encouraged him to take pictures in the library and around the hotel. They would only charge a room rental free for the library IF we were to use the room at 3pm for the ceremony because 3pm is the check in time and they were at full capacity. (understandable) but we started pictures at 1pm and we were completely out of the hotel by 2:30pm. We asked several times if us being there was okay and no other guests were there. The staff was incredible nice, congratulatory, and assured us that our small wedding party was okay to be in the library and not to be charged. My dad has called and the manager fought with him and he is now forced to dispute the charge with his credit card company.

My parents stayed here when I was a student at WWU. Now that I'm a grown up and living far away, I stayed there with my husband. It's perfect for a little getaway. The bed was the most comfortable I've had at a hotel- its that memory foam style that molds to your body. I took a nap immediately! The parking was safe, and the little balcony was perfect for sunbathing. The tv is oddly too far away to see from the bed, though. For sure get a bayside room, as the view makes it worth it. A suggestion for the breakfast is omelets; would have made it just right. (I'm not really a waffle person). I do love the coffee-always available in a little study. One of my favorite weekend trips. I'll stay again next time I'm up there.

Very comfortable rooms with comfy beds. Excellent wifi. Quiet. We've stayed here twice and chose the side with a view of the harbor, which is amazing at night. Note that this is a working harbor. It's noisy day and night, and we are experiencing headaches from the strong smell of resins, paints, and solvents. Breakfast is included, but it's along the lines of what you would expect in a lower end motel (juice, cereal, coffee, tea, waffles). Easy walk to the charming Fairhaven shops and restaurants. Quite expensive. You are paying for the location and the views. No microwave or fridge.

While visiting an old college friend, I recently stayed at the Fairhaven Villiage Inn. I love the town, with its great vibe, cool old buildings and friendly businesses. When I checked in, the gentleman at the front counter couldn't have been sweeter. They have convenient (free!) parking with downstairs access to the building. I was also impressed with how clean the downstairs area smelled and looked. I stayed in room 204..I wanted the park side for a quieter room (the "bay side" does have a bit of noise with trains going by..may not bother some people, but I am a light sleeper). There was some wonderful live music in the park during the afternoon. Since it was Sunday, there were many people listening and dancing. There is a great little terrace on the second floor. I took my complimentary breakfast outside, read a book and enjoyed the peace. The service was wonderful and the room was really nice. I slept like I was at home! This does not happen often in a hotel setting. The breakfast was very good, too. Everyone was kind and helpful. Thank you and I would not hesitate to stay at the Inn next time I go north!

Spent Valentines here with the Love Goddess. We used to live in B-ham, so we were looking forward to spending a little time hanging out in town, and we wanted it to be comfortable and centrally-located in Fairhaven. My first impression of the place was that it was clean and quiet. Fortunately, that didn't just apply to the lobby. The room was remarkably clean, and the only quieter place we've ever stayed was the incomparable Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop. The view off of our small balcony, part water and part industrial park, was not without interest. Decent flatscreen and ipod dock. The ladies who helped us at check-in were really nice, and accommodating. They gave us a $5 off coupon for the bookstore across the street. Their private parking lot was convenient, and breakfast was adequate (I like waffles and yogurt, but fresh fruit would be nice). Minor con: a bathroom fan would have been nice, and not just to suck up the wax smell from the floor in the bathroom. You should stay here if only to see the shiniest, waxiest bathroom floor in the world. The Goddess and I will come back here.

Very nice place and the room was great. Very comfortable. Expensive. We paid extra for a "sea view room"...which did show the water in the distance, but mostly the rooftops of nearby industrial buildings. We had a vision of sitting on the balcony, drinking wine...uh, nope! Luckily, the hotel is located near everything you could want in Fairhaven, including wine. Breakfast was nice, but if you have food allergies (dairy, eggs) you will want to avoid it.

We spent 8 nights on the road. Of those, I had my best night's sleep at Fairhaven Village Inn. That should count for something, and it does. We had trouble finding a place to stay in Bellingham. We had called every B&B we could find. There were no vacancies. So we had to widen our search. I felt like we might be overpaying at Fairhaven Village Inn, but our backs were against the wall. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. She figured out a way to find us a small discount on our room, and she made some solid restaurant recommendations. The included WIFI was fast and reliable. The room was large, clean and comfortable, as was the bed. Like I said, I got my best night's sleep here. Breakfast was a serve yourself continental breakfast affair. They had pretty much everything you might want, including a make your own waffle maker. If I ever spend another night in Bellingham, I'd probably try the B&Bs again. But if they were full, I'd be comforted by knowing that Fairhaven Village Inn likely has an available comfy bed waiting for me, just in case.

Beautiful, historic, top-rated Inn right off Exit 250. We stayed one night here, and it was memorable indeed. The vintage looking library on the first floor provided hours of entertainment and comfort. The rooms were simple and tasteful, the beds and pillows very comfortable, and the electric fireplace in room was a nice touch. The icing on the cake would have been a big Jacuzzi bathtub- the tubs/showers were clean and nice but very small. The concierge were all friendly, and really made you feel like you were staying in their home as an honored guest. Nice complimentary spread of continental breakfast items and GREAT coffee in the morning. Take your coffee to go in the paper cup and go for a morning stroll after your breakfast, there is a walking trail that starts right at the Inn's main entrance. Located right across from the Green, and a prime location for a day of shopping and taking in the views of Fairhaven. I will return for sure.

We've stayed here many times over the years. The rooms are always clean and quiet. We treated ourselves to the suite last time we were here and it was very impressive. Loved the COZY couches and the great tub! We wanted to bring the bed home with us. You'll get one of the best night sleeps ever. Love the beautiful lobby and library. They have the best cookies and coffee/tea snacks in the library during the evening hours. Definitely worth the trip to southern Bellingham.

This is really a delightful gem of a place. We splurged and stayed in the suite. If this room is representative at all of the other rooms, then this is one of the most comfortable places we've stayed. Pluses--comfortable, quiet, cozy, tasteful, warm, inviting. This is the sort of place you want to come back to after a day of roaming. The complimentary breakfast bar was more than adequate (please consider leaving a tip for the desk clerk, if he or she makes your waffle!). Part of what's so inviting about the inn is the thought that goes into the amenities: they have a library with a very inviting fireplace, games, coffee, tea (and, yes, cookies). Minuses (this is nit-picky)--the double-door between the main room and the bedroom wouldn't latch. The main pillows were quite firm: we both woke up with stiff necks. Some of the curtains were off their hooks. While the suite featured a full dining room table and six chairs, this seemed intended more for meeting than for eating: there was no mini-fridge in the room. Surely there would be a tasteful way to include a mini-fridge. Again, the minuses are nit-picking, in the interests of encouraging the Fairhaven Village Inn to be even more attuned to the details that will make this place more than exceptional. I think you will be very glad to have stayed here.

Nestled in the heart of the Old Fairhaven historic district, the Fairhaven Village Inn is a cozy (22 rooms) and inviting slice of Bellingham history. The Inn is across the street from the Fairhaven Village Green Park, which features a farmer's market, outdoor movies, and several shops and restaurants nearby. You won't have to bother with a car here, as everything you'll need is within easy walking distance. Dozens of unique and boutique little restaurants, shops and walking paths are right outside the door. If you do feel like a drive, downtown Bellingham is just 5-minutes to the north, as is Western Washington University, with the fabled Chuckanut Drive beginning it's long and winding road just a few short miles to the south

My mother, who has a disability, stayed here with me, and we absolutely LOVED it. There is a large covered entryway, so if you need to unload an electric wheelchair, there is plenty of shelter from the rain. The room was very open, expansive, and clean, and the bathroom was large and easy for my mother to navigate. When we asked them at the last minute, upon arrival, if they might have a small refrigerator available, they wheeled in a cart with both a frig and microwave. When we asked them at the last minute, on the day before departure, if there was any way for us to stay an extra night, they moved their reservation map around so we could keep the room we were already using. The staff is just wonderful, and they have a very generous continental breakfast each morning -- fresh and beautiful quality. The customer service, the quality of the linens, the cleanliness -- it was just outstanding. We have had the good fortune to travel throughout Europe for many years, and this place was as good as it gets. It was the perfect location and a truly lovely place to stay.

This is definitely the kind of hotel to put your parents up in when they're in town. With that said I have stayed here a few times and I have to say it is very nice. The actual hotel and the rooms are very clean and the bed is super comfortable. They also have a sitting room with a fireplace, comfortable couches, with books and games for your liking. You know its fancy when you see a white lady for a maid.

I miss the simpler times and trekking to Bellingham makes you feel like you have not a care in the world. Exploring and the sort is relaxing but with everything that's fun you have rest and unwind from the day. That was possible since the staff took me in as an friend and not someone that was filling up their rooms. This is a place that I should have enjoyed more of if it wasn't for business. I won't make that mistake again.

The Village Inn is located in the historic Fairhaven District of Bellingham, Wa. We loved it!! The Inn is a boutique hotel with 22 rooms. The staff could not have been more helpful in giving us guidance into restaurants and information about driving into Vancouver, Canada. Our room was gorgeous, with 2 queen beds that were so comfortable and a fireplace. We had a view of the bay and the dock where the ferries to Alaska depart. The sunsets in the evening were amazing. The Inn offers a continental breakfast each morning, waffles, rolls, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. The parking was safe, especially since we were traveling with bikes on the back of the vehicle. The Inn has a library room to curl up with a good book, and the second floor offers an outdoor patio with views of the water. Located within walking distance of quaint shops and plenty of cafes and restaurants. One morning we got up and walked the path to the boardwalk over the water for a bit, along the shore where old Salmon canneries once stood. You can see the remnants of the canneries, and read of the history of the area. Continuing on to the park, we got a cup of coffee at Wood's coffee.

What's not to like? Well, just one thing. But on the upside, the room was great. Large, comfy, up-to-date, and clean. The entire inn was beautiful. Cookies were in the lobby and a Continental breakfast was available just off the lobby. The staff was incredibly helpful as well. Situated in historic Fairhaven, there were fun things to do and eat right there. And the view of Puget Sound was fun. Oh, and parking was included. Not to like? Just a bit pricey. But all-in-all, we had a great two-night stay.
