I agree with this place bad reviews. I went three times this restaurant because just close to my home. Their service was bad, bad, bad. Every time when we got there we have to wait so long front even though nobody wait there and servers attitude,service..horrible I guess they don't need tips at all... Seriously they need training servers

We stopped by after work on a business trip and had a blast. Our server, Tanisha/Brandi, was allot of fun and was a pleasure throughout the night. We all enjoyed the food with the pizza proving to be a winner. Thanks to everyone there for putting up with guys in the corner booth! Best wishes on the new location in Dallas.

We decided to go to The Rock for my mother in law's birthday. It has some fantastic rock n roll art and can't beat the great pizza. I ended trying a new sandwich called Smoke on the water..wow..it was so delicious. .rest of the group went with pizza the favorite he I ng Slow Ride...Our server Tanisha was on top of getting drink refills, checking in with us on our meal, and did a wonderful job.

Service was great. The pizza on the other hand looked very rushed. Lots of bubbles throughout the pizza and barely any sauce. This is my second try with this Rock. I would recommend a different Rock. I'm going to stick with the one I love best, The Rock in Covington.

This review is ONLY for the Lakeland Hills location. While I am a fan of The Rock's food, today we had what I felt was less than great service. We ordered the hummus plate and the Meaty, Beaty, Big, Bouncy pizza. The food was delicious, of course (although there was hardly any Pita Bread for the nearly $10 hummus plate). But our waitress... well, she left something to be desired. She brought us our food and checked on us. She was fine up until the end, when she brought us our check and told us she would take care of the bill. And that was pretty much it. I heard the table behind us get offered dessert. Nope, not us. We had leftover pizza, but apparently you have to wave down another waitress and ask for a box. I guess that's how it works. But also, when asking said waitress for a box, she feels the need to check to see that we've signed for our bill? Nice move. I think this restaurant is great, but the customer service needs a whole bunch of work, especially when the pizza costs so much. Lakeland is a bit pretentious, but really... you're a pizza joint. Get over yourself.

Thin crust is best. Ah, but not cracker crust. Thin, topping transporting, slightly-chewy crust. Mmm... chew it a bit. Love the pre-described pies. Start there and customize. Or start from scratch. Yummy pizza with happy and engaging staff.

Horrible service. We were told 10 minutes to get a table for 7, while seeing three available tables that were empty. After 35/40 minutes waiting, while others were seated at different tables, we left with our out of town guests, thoroughly disappointed. It was clear that no one was in charge.

The wife and I stopped by here because its around the corner from where we bought our house. We got the "hurt me so good" burger and they were delicious. I went to wash my hands and the bathrooms were clean and they smelled good...big plus. We told them that we were first-time visitors and they gave us a basket of mozzarella bread on the house. Those were delicious as well. Our server, Alex (at the Lake Tapps) restaurant was on point. She was took care of us and was very attentive. This is my first 5 star rating...and they deserved it.

Was contacted by the manager to see if I wanted to come back out and visit the Rock again since this was not the experience that they strive for. Emailed them back with a scanned copy of my receipt that I had kept, still haven't heard from them and that was over a month ago. Customer service went from bad to worse.

The pizza is alright, the menu is like reading another language and their microbrews taste like water. I've lived in this area for about 10 years and when this place first went up everyone loved it. I don't get it and don't think the food is worth the price... and as others have said, its a douche-y place. I went for happy hour and they told me I had to be a member... for happy hour... wtf was my response. If you life good beer and reasonable prices, don't go here.

I'll keep it short since I've been here off and on over the years and had varying levels of service. Often the service is lacking (servers disappear) or the waitresses try too hard to be "hip" and your buddy. I sincerely wish they could have consistent service standards so I could decide whether I hated or loved the place. The food is usually pretty consistent and solid. I think their pizza (try The Walking Blues or Wild Child) is one of the best in the area, and their price reflects that. The Lake Tapps location is often crawling with the suburban displaced Bellevue rejects with the snob attitude and new Beamer to go with it (think the Griswald's neighbors in Christmas Vacation). But they're passive aggressive at heart so a quick stare down or a comment on how discourteous they are usually breaks them. So, anticipate that. Plus, the venue is friggin' tiny. I've been stuck at a booth with a table no larger than 2 feet across. I've been to Manhattan and seen bigger trays under Lexington. In whole, I've never had a bad experience concerning the pizza and regard it as one of my favorites. And the establishment is clean. Cramped and small, but clean. But, like others have noted, the Lake Tapps venue tries too hard to be trendy. And coupled with hit or miss service and YUPPIE larva....and a genuine struggle to have dinner for two and keep it under $40, I have to settle on a simple "Aight" rating.

Douche. Factory. The only upside to this place is that, surprisingly, they didnt have an official dress code requiring me to wear the same bedazzled jeans and a tight t-shirt (covered in skulls with wings) that every other doucher there was rocking. Oh, and the food is overpriced & under-flavored. The beer is disappointingly generic, and the menu is about as easy to read as a drunk Stevie Wonder's signature.

I can walk to this place from my house and it's nice to have a reliably good pizza joint in one's neighborhood. In fact, when I first moved out here and was house hunting, I stopped here for lunch (it was actually on New Year's Day), and left pretty much sold on moving to Lakeland, because hey, when it's Wednesday night, and there's nothing good to eat at home, you *need* a good local pizza place to eat at, right?? The pizza crust is nice and crispy, with a pleasant amount of chewiness, and of course it's wood fired so it gets that nice char you need on a pizza crust. They have a good selection of toppings. Their lunch buffet is a great deal. They've got rock music blaring, and lots of TV sets, so on that Wednesday-night-can't-deal-with-cooking occasion, it's a good place to just veg a while and not feel the need to make clever conversation with whoever is with you. I think their pizza sauce could use a little more oomph, but really, it's better than delivery for sure.

Amazing atmosphere! Great food and fun drinks! Service was consistent and very friendly. Pizza is a great hand tossed, crispy crust and good tasting toppings. I love the large soft drink glasses. Great place overall!

  • Danielle L.

Love the pizzas and the wings! Ambiance is pretty great for the younger crowd, not the best for families. but the waitresses are usually really nice and available. Appreciate that so much! White Christmas pizza rocks! The manager is super nice and really wants his customer to leave happy it seems.

  • Barbara A.

Well, it was loud, a great place for young people, not for those over 35 though, and didn't feel like the pizza was anything special, but practically the only place to eat in that neighborhood..so there you go.

Good happy hour. The bucket sized drinks are very reasonably priced. Didn't try the food so can't comment there. Nice atmosphere, good music.

Going to The Rock use to be a treat when it was only in Tacoma, but there is a few more around the area now. My favorite is the Founders Pie, Mozz Bread, and the cookie dessert. Im not a big fan of the buckets, I recently tried a beer here, but dont remember which one....I liked it tho. Happy Hour is pretty good here tho, as far as food goes.

We ordered two BLTs and the bacon was burnt black! I showed it to the waitress and is so nice and says that she will bring us more bacon. The new bacon is just as black. I said this isn't any better. She says sorry and walks away. No compensation on the bill either. Don't order a bucket there either. Tastes like a big glass of OJ and no booze!

  • Tres B.

Excellent, but in my estimation, over priced wood fired pizza. But the lunch special is where its at, baby. Throngs of crust lovers arrive at 11:30 for the pizza/pasta/salad lunch. The decor is chain-like schlock. Torn between rustic and metal some what akin to The Ram. Its comfortable is not a little false and sterile. A good choice given this chancy area.

  • Nick M.

Great Pizza definately a step above most others. I love going for the all you can eat buffet during lunch hours on weekdays. They have pasta salad out for the all you can eat. The only negative is that they got rid of the green salad for the all you can eat. OH YEAH!! The ranch is amazing!!!!!!!!!! I used to fill up a soup cup during the all you can eat with ranch and just soak my pizza in it. I don't know if it the chunks of pepper in the ranch or something else that makes it taste so good but it is the the best ranch I've ever had.

I wish this chain extending into southern California as I now live here. They have a gigantic pizza menu with a lot of variety. Every pizza I have had from here has been delicious! I took my guy here with a couple friends and he loved it too. We had him get the bucket drink which is another fun part of this place. It is different which makes this place unique. Kinda pricey but great place to go out with friends! If you haven't gone here yet you need to go at least once!

Last things first: The pizza is respectably serviceable. The salad we had, with pear and blue cheese, was prepared with the most innocuously flavorless light-colored foodservice-grade salad greens, and a gummy, on-the-side dressing. I usually go for more intensely flavored greens unless I'm making a Caesar-salad variation, so this wasn't really that exciting for me. The "rockin' shrooms", supposedly marinated in something "red", were relatively dry and undersalted, whereas the caramelized onions in the pan were slightly oversalted, leaving the mushrooms mostly flavorless unless you had them with a mouthful of onions. They were served topped with something resembling crushed saltine crackers mixed with butter. It's a simple dish, and could have been great with a slightly different balance, but was just ok. We were left wishing for a simple oven-roasted vegetable dish of some sort from that beautiful brick oven. Unfortunately, nothing like that was on the menu, so we went with the salad and "shrooms". We had a couple of small pizzas, one a fairly decent white pizza with ricotta, and another old-school American pizzeria red-sauce variation topped with green peppers and sliced mushrooms. The crust is a bit thicker than most Italian variations, a bit thinner than most American variations, and has a fairly soft, floppy style. Service: Textbook chain-style "how is everything tasting?" (I hate that phrase) with interruptions every three minutes asking if you want anything else or if everything was fine or if you need another half gallon of water in your over-sized glass. I know some people dig this kind of over-attentiveness, but it almost made me long for the disaffected thinly veiled contempt that Capitol Hill waiters are known for. Decor: Pietro's meets Sea Galley, accessorized with self-conscious heavy metal and classic rock graphics and slightly loud background music. If I were still a kid and it was still the early 1980s, I'd probably love this place, especially if they added pinball games and Galaga. It's a chain built for the suburbs. Nothing wrong with that, but I can't see myself making a special trip to come here. I'd probably come here from time to time if I lived nearby, especially with rugrats.

Pizza is decent. Everything else kinda sucks. Do not get chicken wings. Annoying place to eat at. Too chainy. Douche city

Like all Rock's this is located in a strip mall with ample parking and provides both indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting). This location has interesting nooks and crannies where booths and tables are tucked away. Brown Sugar Garlic Bread is great... some of the pizza combinations may be a bit strange at first... but the staff handles requests with ease! It is loud and the bar is very popular / crowded / loud with tall stools and few booths.

  • Belinda S.

They now have Gluten Free Pizza Yay for me! The cook actually came out to explain what he could add for toppings to keep it Gluten free, love that kind of service!

I had lunch at The Rock yesterday with my 3 year old nephew. The server was very accomodating to the two of us. I ordered the chicken caesar wrap and it was delicious. This is a good stop for lunch and the happy hour is always priced well. They have one of the best bartendars in the state!

  • Erickson E.

From the standpoint of pizza, I think The Rock's pizza is 'good' but not 'great'. It's thin-crust, but often comes out just too soggy for my taste. I like the wood fired style, but need a crisper crust than I get here. Surprisingly, I really like their burgers and other non-pizza items! They do some good beer battered fries too. The bar at this location does a pretty good job. Special recognition that one time, when I left my wallet at home, they had no problem with me going home to get it and then coming back to pay.

I have been impressed with this restaurant. If your food is wrong or you don't like it, they will cook you something else in a heartbeat. The calzone is really good and I like their Long Island bucket!

  • Leanna A.

This is a chain store that offers interesting wood-fired pizzas with unique names. I like their award winning "Founder's Pie", which has lovely little blobs of ricotta cheese tucked under pepperoni slices. We've had 6 or 7 different pizzas here though, all yummy. They also have a great drink called the "bucket" which is a foo-foo fruity drink served in a plastic trash can. Fun. Salad is standard...menu has so many choices that it can be overwhelming. Very crowded on weekends.

I would give this place more stars if the staff was a bit nicer. When you walk in to the place it lives up to it's name. Classic Rock music and Metal paraphernalia is everywhere, and the music they play in the place. Also they name their pizza's after rock/Metal songs, and I think they do the same for everything else. I usually get a cherry coke (Hate coke and soda but here it's amazing). They add a gracious amount of Cherry Syrup to a HUGE cup of Coke and give you some maraschino cherries on top. Delicious~ Their Garlic Mozz Bread is probably the best damn thing I've ever ate. It's their pizza dough with mozzarella cheese and a few other kinds with garlic olive oil on top baked just like their pizzas. If I could I would order 3 things of that and forget everything else. Seriously best thing I've ever eaten. Their pizzas are great. I love the wood fired flavoring and texture of the crust. Every time myself and friends go there we get 'The Classic Rock' which is pepperoni. They have the best marinara. It's obviously made with fresh tomatoes and the perfect amount of seasonings. I can't stand marinara on my pizza but here, oh hell yes on this stuff. It always comes out baked to decedent perfection. And it is reheated well for those who can't finish what they eat. From my understanding (being under 21) The bar is effing awesome. Large amounts of Beers and CRAZY original mixed drinks. I'm sure they have a good selection of hard alcohol too. It's just a 'let's-get-sh*t-faced' type of bar which is always busy and sounds like a blast from the dining room side. And if you bring children they give them pizza dough to play with that will get baked so the kids can eat their creations. Great pizza and spirits (by assumption and friend word of mouth), Service could be a have a bit more hospitality though.

Enjoy the atmosphere, the amazing variety of pizza and always look forward the Da Bucket! Every time I pass through Seattle this is one stop I make with family and friends.

It has really gone down hill of late. Music too loud to carry on a conversation, our pizza was cold and took over an hour to get. Not going back. Price too high for the quality.

  • J S.

My wife and I go to the Rock in Lakeland for happy hour all the time. Excellent wood fired thin crust pizza, with great pizza sauce and cheese, very social bartenders and servers, and some of the best brewed beers. Their garlic bread is our fav. Also try their beer battered fries, some of the best fries ever! Fun atmosphere as well.

    (5)
  • Brian C.

Pretty good Pizza...I like the Evil Ways, Crazy Train, and Bad to the Bone pizza!! All taste awesome!! Garlic Mozz Bread is sweet as well!! Now that they are becoming a chain the pizza is kind of declining a little.

    (3)
  • P K.

The pizza is delicious. Although a bit more pricey then the typical pizza experience, the atmosphere was fun. It would be nice if they offered better vegitarian options in the way of salad, sandwiches.... Food hot and service attentive...will go again!

Overall, this is a great establishment. The pasta and pizza are great and they have a great selection of house beers. I have also tried their lunch buffet which isn't too bad either.

  • Mark H.

Great Pizza, drinks, and staff! Lunch buffet is awesome. My favorite pizzas here are Bad to the Bone and Crazy Train. My favorite location out of the Rock Pizza chains.

  • Dawn F.

Cool place, kind of a classic rock motif--good wood oven pizza and their own brewed beer. The service was fast and friendly, the pizza is really good--my fave is the Wild Child, hubby likes Revolution. The brown sugar Mozz app is killer. A little disappointed in the beer battered fries--oh they tasted delish, but the serving size was pretty small for an app to share. Apparently they've started measuring everything they serve. Kind weird. Other than that I thought it was great!

If you want a place with a great atmosphere in the Lakeland Hills, Bonney Lake, or Auburn area, The Rock is excellent. Awesome authentic gourmet pizza, an alive, high energy atmosphere that is difficult to explain until you come in there. The staff is always awesome and they have the best ranch in the world:)

  • C S.

My husband and I have been going to this location since the day they opened. We have never had a bad experience. Most of the time we go in on the weekends for lunch and sit in the bar; the bartender has awesome service. Recently, I went in to try their new 7 days a week (open to 3pm) lunch specials. The new Buffalo Chicken Ranch Wrap is the bomb. They should add this to the main menu. This is a new favorite of mine. Other favorites are: Appetizer; Chipotle Rock Wings. Pizza; Bat Outta Hell, California Dreamin' and My Generation. Burgers; Hurts So Good. Wraps; Of course the new Buffalo Chicken Ranch Wrap, and also the Cheeseburger Wrap (no bun is nice alternative). Pasta; Born on the Bayou. Rocktails; of course The Bucket.

Excellent service and delicious drinks. Taking home shots and buckets just sweeten the deal unfortunately my particular dish wasn't that great(Philly Burger) everyone else's food was very good especially the white room pasta. Overall experience was excellent.

  • S W.

I love the Rock! I go mostly for happy hour and you cannot beat the prices! $2.50 for a well drink and they are small, but they are strong! The food is good and the staff is phenomenal! The pizza is super yummy and the atmosphere is really fun! I'm not a huge fan of their home brewed beers, but there are plenty of other fun drinks to get there so it's not an issue!

    Good pizza, bad beer, overpriced.

  • Deana J.

We LOVE The Rock's pizza! It's a little pricier than we can afford every weekend, but we still try to go once a month because it's addictive! The only negatives are #1: when the bottom of the pizza has too much burnt cornmeal -- please brush it off before delivering it to customers, or clean it out of the oven more often; and #2: the menu is pretty busy and hard to read in the low lighting, so we have to bring our reading glasses or have the kids read it to us (how humiliating!); and #3: the women's restroom is very dark (black toilets and stalls and not much lighting)! We call ahead for take-out sometimes too, and it's always been good. Service has always been friendly and observant when we needed drink refills and the music is fabulous!!

I have only been to the Rock once after a long day of house hunting so I was super hungry and in need of beer. My first task was to order a beer. I noticed that they have there own selection of beer that they brew, but I stuck to one of my favs Heineken. At first I ordered a Chicken Wrap that was recommended by the waitress. The food came before the beer :( and we actually had to flag down the waitress to bring our beer. So no brownie points there. I ended up sending the wrap back because it was no bueno. It was pretty much lettuce covered in some yucky sweet horseradish sauce. Now I'm no expert but i don't think horsey sauce and chicken go together. It was their signature sauce so beware if you order something with that on it if you don't like horseradish. I love it but not on that. Anyways I ended up ordering the Meatball Sandwich and totally went to town on it. It was really really good. It was so big that I didn't even touch the fries that came with it. I left feeling full and satisfied. The server was really nice, not the greatest server, but nice. I plan on going back, but I will have to watch out for that yucky crap sauce they put on their food.

Came here with girls for lunch. We ordered a Classic Rock pizza to split, Shattered nachos, a Bloody Mary and one of the bucket drinks. The pizza was SO good!!!! One of the best I've had, perfect, cheesy with just the right amount of sauce and toppings. The nachos were huge and were delicious as well. The Bloody Mary was really good and the bucket drink was huuuge! We split one with 4 girls and still could barely finish. It came in a cute sand bucket with a shovel. It's a perfect place to come with friends and they have tvs everywhere so it would be a good place to come catch a game. I wish I could remember the waitresses name, she was so sweet and nice and really made our meal enjoyable! Lucky for me it's 5 min from my house so I'll def be coming back!

Yesterday I went out with my girlfriend to enjoy a drink and dinner. We were in the Lakeland Hills Rock Cafe. All of a sudden two groups start arguing over the game. The cocktail waitress with a shaved head starts yelling at both parties and someone who looks like the manager (male) comes up from behind and says, " I will break your legs" or something along those lines. Then they all stand up and argue and a few blonde waitress come over and make comments to the two parties. It was really uncomfortable for my friend and I. We wanted to leave or at least get a seat outside the bar. The two parties continue to argue. One party starts screaming at the male who looks like a manager. They eventually leave the bar. One party stayed and the shaved head bartender starts screaming, "I have a stun gun and pepper stray. I will use it. Your not fucking listening to me." He already had paid his tab and was finishing his beer. My friend and I are so uncomfortable and are being completely ignored. No one came over to apologize or move us away from this hostile environment. The waitress hadn't checked on us this whole time and at the very least we didn't see her for 30 minutes. When she did come back she didn't say a word about it. So we commented on it and she just claimed to know nothing. She brought our bills and was unfriendly which made us even more uncomfortable. I am completely unhappy and I really never want to come back to this establishment ever again. I wrote corporate but they never emailed me back and this is really upsetting because I love their brown sugar mozz bread and their buckets. I go to The Rock once a week but after this I think I am done completely with this company. I dont think they care about their customers.

Went at lunch time with four guys from work. There was one other table of folks there. We waited excessively for drink order....then drinks and so on. It was not crowded just a very nonchalant attitude. The AC was blasting and we all had to wear coats and asked if they could turn it down but never did. The pizza was tasty in a comfort food way.

  • Ricky E.

This is the worst customer service we have ever received anywhere. PERIOD. This location has literally gone to s*it. Service was terrible, and our table was not approached for over 10 minutes after our arrival, and it was not very busy. We had to go get our own waitress (Valerie) who was too busy flirting with a nearby table for our entire experience to even serve us. Turns out those men had bad service also and did not tip her (She made that very clear and was very unprofessional.) Our food was not what we wanted, and the "Queso Dip" was rock hard and disgusting. We are never returning and we are letting everyone know about our ruined evening and waste of 2 hours just for dinner!

Went to this rock because it was closet to where I live. The whole time I felt they were trying to rush my family and I out the restaurant. We got there and it didn't seem that busy when they sat is in the front area. Now I understand that yes, your food might burn due to the fact that it is being cooked by fire wood. But every single piece of food? Besides the fries we ordered. The Margherita pizza was sub-par and the bucket I ordered was over filling not with alcohol, but with ice. Way too much ice. Overall I didn't like my service there not one bit, yet I ended up tipping the waitress cause I am a kind person.

Love this place. Definitely a kid friendly place. Their bad to the bone pizza is ahhhhmazing Their macaroni and cheese isn't just some kraft macaroni and cheese. It's actually cheese sauce and it just looks n tastes amazing. The waitresses there are always in a good mood and aren't to hard to find if we did need something. Me and my family have ate here at least 3 times and we will definitely be coming back.

  • EJ M.

I had a pulled pork sandwich that was supposed to come with sweet potato fries. I had to ask for the fries because they brought regular fries. The sandwich had a huge brioche roll but the portions of meat and slaw inside were very small. There was a big piece of fatty gristle in my small portion that never should have made it out of the kitchen. My party was never asked if we wanted to order beverages after we all requested water. I was the one who organized the outing and chose the restaurant. I won't choose this Rock again. Also, I was sad to see that the Bacon Spinach salad was no longer on the menu.

  • Allison M.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Been there several times and the staff is always rude and water down their overpriced drinks.

    (1)
  • Bran H.

Fish and chips were nothing write home about and the waiter brought blue cheese dressing not tartar sauce. Fish and chips 101 includes tartar sauce. Husband got the baby backs and was pretty happy with his plate. Only gave three stars because of distracted waitstaff and slowness in correcting my order.

Love the unique flavor combinations of the rock. Check in to get a free offer of tasty mozz bread!

Had never been to this location of The Rock. It is very similar to the other locations I've been to. New, modern, clean.....Came here for my niece's 21st birthday party. Our server was great! Food and drinks were good. Only complaint I had is that they were super understaffed and the few employees they did have (other than our server) took up a table to eat their own dinner at ......tacky (including the MANAGER - if I was the owner, I would have fired him!)

This was an excellent experience and our Waitress/server Marteal is amazing, and patient, and helpful. We were kinda down and oh-hum before we entered the restaurant. Well Marteal cheered us up and brightened our day. The food was great which made the experience with Marteal even better. It's a blessing to see someone like Marteal in the hospitality industry provide such outstanding customer service. We are surely to return soon and we hope all of the wait staff at RWFP in Lacey are as AWESOME as Marteal.

I came in with 2 friends last Friday for a couple of drinks. Since we got there pretty late, we didn't have time for food, so we decided to have a couple drinks. The place wasn't pack considering it was a Friday night, though not empty either. We didn't see much of our server other than when she took our orders and delivered them, but she was prompt and friendly. Since I have heard of how good their "buckets" were, I opted to get the Original. It was excellent! All in all, it was an 'ok' experience... not too shabby. I'll have to get the pizza next time.

Took some out of town friends here for dinner last night. We told them how the food is great and that their kids would love it. Unfortunately we had the worst service ever by our waitress Savannah. She was so pissed off for some reason and completely ignored our table. We were a party of seven with young kids. When our order didn't arrive after being there for over 30min and noticing tables around us who sat down after us, being served we flagged her down so see what was going on. She then went to check on our order and never came back. We had to flag her down for drink refills and to get something to clean up a drink one of the kids spilled, instead of giving us a cloth napkin she kept throwing paper napkins at us to clean it up and then didn't even take them. Now a waitress should be checking on her tables to make sure everything is going well and to see if they need anything. When we finally got our food one of the pizzas was wrong and another one was never made. So here we go again waiting another 20 min for them to fix the order when we had hungry kids. We ended up getting the manager who said he would comp two pizzas and when we got our bills he only comped one so we had to track him down to get the bill fixed. Not sure we will be back even though we love the pizza.

Classic rock and great food. Try the Crazy Train pizza. Happy hours from 3 - 6 & 9 'til close. Brenna rocks! Cheers all. See you there.

The Rock in Auburn continues to be lacking management. As a family we used to enjoy the pizza a few times a month. Over the last year the pizza continues to be undercooked and the service is spotty, we are now stopping in maybe once a month due to convenience.

I'm glad this place exists, my boys (who are 5) love it. I'm jaded though as my hometown is NYC home of the best pizza of ever. So...this place is good but not in the same league as pizza I grew up with. The service is always good and they are always friendly.

I don't know what the issue is, new owner, new staff, new cooks or all of the above but this places food has hit the fan recently! Quality is way down from 6 months ago and that's not just from 1 or 2 visits, I live 2 minutes away so I come a lot. I like the restaurant but *#@$ this location needs to figure it out!

Decent pizza but a little on the high side. Went with a friend once who ordered the wings. He did not like them at all so I stayed away from them. Beer is good. One concern is that they have seemed to change their menu to look a lot like Hop Jacks. My advice would be to concentrate on making the best pizza in the neighborhood. Possibly focus on making better wings. Slim down the menu. Don't need hamburgers or Fish and Chips. I think most people who go to the Rock are there for their pizzas, beers and great cheesy bread sticks.

Matt is the greatest bartender! He was fast, even though it was very busy, also polite and had excellent recommendations on food when I asked! The girls, Nichole and Val were funny and so welcoming as well. I will absolutely be returning to this restaurant soon. If you want a place to stop at by the lake for a couple cold beers and great people, this is the spot!

Arrived at 1:00 pm on a Friday. Not crowded, but still busy. At 1:15 decided to have the lunch buffet and we were not told that we needed to get everything by about 1:45 because it would be cleaned up. A heads up or last call would have been nice... or a drink refill at any point.

Pro's · Ambiance · Great and friendly servers · Awesome pizza · Served perfect (the way we order) and Hot · Music, just the right volume · Restaurant clean · Bathrooms clean · Servers attentive · Price always consistent (16" pizza, soda and water $20.07) · Ambiance cool Con's Can get a little loud on busier nights Smaller location No real place to smoke away from the front door Not able to keep shirts and jackets in stock for customers as employees get to buy them first. Summary- This is by far our favorite location. Katie and Denise are great waitresses and a lot of fun. I love the hot fresh pizza and the great flavor. I visit this location about once a week now. The ambiance isn't anything like the Renton location, but it is fun like the other Rock Pizza's are. I would highly recommend this location before any others.

We have been going to THE ROCK for over 15 years and used to love it the past few year it's really getting worse and worse each visit. The service is horrible and the food is slowly going down hill also . Guess that's what happens when they expand and franchise out . We won't be going back again .

I grew up in the area and have been coming here ever since it opened. The last three times I have come here I have had terrible service, less then average food, even the cleanliness was bad. I don't know what happened to this place but I'll be going else where from now one. Ps the coleslaw was bitter.

Go for the pizza and ROCK... Beer was good too, but nachos were lacking big time. Asked for salsa or something to make it better and was brought a little (and I mean little) thing of pico de gallo. All in all, good meal. Will try wings next time for appetizer.

We used to be a military family so whenever we move to a new state our first order of business is to find our new favorite local pizza place. Upon our arrival in Washington my husband sought information about pizza places from his co-workers and the majority of them told us to check out "The Rock". Surprisingly we realized there was one within walking distance of our home so we decided to check it out. Our friends did not disappoint. The Rock has, by far, the best pizza our family has ever had. We love that they also offer take-out for those times that we don't feel like eating out. The atmosphere is great, it's all themed up with rock and roll stuff. My kids love going there but it's also sort of dark and intimate which is great for a date night. It can get loud in there sometimes, after all it is the ROCK, but it's really nothing that is going to scare the kiddos or take away from an intimate evening. They also have a fantastic skillet baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream that we can't leave without ordering. Not to mention their awesome "bucket" mixed drinks that are actually served in children's sand buckets. For deals talk to the staff about getting their loyalty program card and also check the Puyallup Costco for heavily discounted gift cards. I believe it's $70 for $100 gift card.

Love the food and the beer. The service has been good by the servers, but the kitchen always seems legitimately slow. Again, good food but I went in at 6 with a 1:30 time limit and had to get to go boxes because of time. The manager comped the food but watched multiple tables sit, eat and cash out before my food came. Ordered a salad, kids pizza, and a flat iron steak. Over 50 minutes to get the food. Delicious but kitchen seems consistently inconsistent.

I just don't know what to make of this place! When we moved to Lakeland Hills in 2012, I was happy to see that there were some restaurants nearby (in fact, within walking distance) of our new home. The Rock is one of them. We've been here numerous times, and the service is always great, but unfortunately, the food has been inconsistent. It seems like the menu is different every time we go, though they do seem to keep certain "favorites" around. The pizza I've had - both made-to-order and on the lunch buffet - is good, probably better if you lean toward "sweet" tomato sauces (I just happen to prefer spicy). The thin crust is good and the toppings seem fresh. I usually order a side Caesar, which comes with a fresh roll (made from pizza dough). The Caesar is usually well done, not too much dressing, and served with a fresh slice of lemon to add some tang. Beyond pizza, The Rock also offers a variety of sandwiches and salads. I've been on the hunt for good salads as we've been trying to eat less bread & pasta. So this week I decided to try the Blackened Tuna salad. My hubby had tried the Blacked Tuna sandwich on several occasions and really enjoyed it, so I ordered the tuna medium-rare and reckoned this was a good choice. I reckoned wrong. The piece of tuna that came out on top of my lovely salad greens could only be described in similarity to the sole of a shoe. Thin (maybe 1/4 inch thick?) and as tough as leather. There was nothing "rare" about it. But get this - my hubby ordered the steak salad and received one of the best steaks he's experienced since moving the Northwest! Not slices of steak as one would expect, but a full 6-8 oz. thick, juicy, well-seasoned, tender steak sitting on top of his greens. Thankfully he was willing to share and gave me several bites. It was heavenly! Clearly there was a cook in the kitchen who was an expert at steaks and knew nothing about fish? I showed our waitress my non-eaten tuna and she was very apologetic, agreeing that it was way overcooked. She didn't offer to get me anything else, but she DID comp my salad on the check, which we appreciated, and I ended up eating some of my daughter's cheese pizza (so much for avoiding bread!) Last year I got extremely sick after eating the shrimp salad at The Rock. The salad tasted great, so it could of just been bad timing with a flu bug, but that pretty much deterred me from that particular salad too. On the other hand, I love the pasta primavera they sometimes offer on the lunch buffet. So perhaps in the future I will just visit The Rock when I'm ready for carbs and stick with the side Caesar.

I have been going to the rock located in Lake Tapps since it opened and it use to be good. It seems that management in their attempt to maximize profits have forgotten that if they over price the food and cut down on the quality of the food that is being served people will not come back. The quality has gone way down over the years, but tonight was the last meal I will have until things get fixed there. I ordered their French Dip called smokey water or something along that name and was highly disappointed. Ordered the meat Medium rare and it was well done along with being cold and the au jus taste like the pizza sauce in a lunchable with the only difference being the sauce in the lunchable taste better. Our waitress handed out a card at the end saying to leave a review on yelp and the card had their name on it. So I must say Tanisha did a fantastic job serving our table. Thank you.

When my husband and I can not seem to agree on or decide what we want for a meal, this is our go-to because it can fill all requests. We normally split a salad or appetizer (cheesey bready or wings) and a pizza. We have had most of the specialty pizzas and have not found any combinations we do not like. Their pasta dishes are wonderful as well and our son loves their spaghetti. The beers are refreshing and while I prefer the Wild Thing, my husband enjoys the IPAs. The buckets are delicious and we have not yet sampled a lava lamp beverage, but that is definitely next on our to do list. They have a rewards program that is pretty decent and allows us to take advantage of happy hour specials in the dining area when we have our son with us. That is definitely a plus. The service has always been friendly and attentive and one of my big things is the service continues even after the check has been delivered and paid. This is a great family friendly place!

Had dinner here last night and I couldn't have been more satisfied. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The food was outstanding! Started with the skillet shrooms....delish! Then our table shared a "crazy train" pizza. The caramelized onions were the key to this pizza's perfection. Will be back.....sooner than later!

My wife went to The Rock yesterday to purchase 3 pizzas for a family gathering we were having at our home. Wen she left the store carrying the 3 pizzas the gentleman or lack thereof that was working by the front door did not even have the common courtesy to open the door for her. To add insult to injury she left a $13 tip! We have patronized The Rock on perhaps a dozen other occasions and with mixed results from horrible lunch buffet to very good dinners. Would strongly suggest that the management have the entire staff walk down the street to Hopjacks and learn what good customer service is all about. Bottom line is that they have lost a customer not as a result of food quality but strictly because of the insensitive and totally apathetic guy working at the entrance.

We're from the Chicago area, so we know pizza, not just deep dish doughballs. I expected wood fired to be like coal fired, thin, crispy crust. It was too thick a crust with chips of wood on the bottom. Good thing we caught that or we'd have had a good case of indigestion. The Wild Child was customized for us, with red sauce and sweet sausage added. It was good, but could have been great. Sometimes less is more. The blue cheese and garlic were overpowering. Less blue or smaller chunks would have been an improvement. There were too many cloves of garlic. Sliced garlic would be better. Service was great, prices reasonable and rock themed decor was spectacular, including the architecture.

Worst most horrible experience. The restaurant was not that busy and for starters are server was like a robot. No personality at all. Aside from that we ordered two sandwiches; one was a Philly dip and the other was the BBQ pulled pork, which I have had before. I asked for NO Coleslaw on my sandwich with regular fries. We waited over 40 minutes for our dinner and when it came pretty much the only thing on my sandwich was Coleslaw (which I ordered without). The fries were ice cold too. After a few minutes the manager came over and said they were just really busy. We told her we have been there when it was twice as busy and got what we asked for and in a timely matter. Bad service and bad food. Won't be going back ever.

Excellent service. Informed the hostess we were catching a plane soon and asked if that would be a problem, she replied it won't take long. Our food was out promptly, the pizza was delicious, and our waitress was already informed of our dilemma and had our check ready before the last piece was finished. Top to bottom, some of the best service I've seen, ever. If I end up in the SeaTac area again, I'll be back.

Great Pizza! I'm a total fan of having choices on how my pie is made, they offer a whole host of choices, both with Red and White sauces as the base. All of the pies are named after legendary rock songs. I'm a big fan of the Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy, the Yellow Brick Road and the Crazy Train! It is loud in here, and expect to have a good time!

Wait time was long, server was non-existent, and worst the PIZZA WAS COLD. I am thinking if it wasnt left out for probably at least 20 minutes or so it may have tasted ok. Either way, it was a bad experience and I personally wont be back.

The food was fantastic, the drinks were great and the price was reasonable but the service was OUTSTANDING!! Alex was attentive without being overbearing, up sold without feeling pushy and an absolute joy to be around. Very knowledgable and helpful, she made this is our new favorite spot to hit after a day at Lake Tapps.

I have been coming here since they opened. I think at least 8 maybe 9 years..?? Anyway, I think their service and their food and drinks from the bartender have gotten better over the years. Usually restaurants I've gone to somewhat experience a reduction in service and food quality yet, with The Rock I have noticed the exact opposite. They have gotten better with time. I would recommend The Rock to anyonethe who loves pizza, a good beverage and some good old fashioned fun.

Their lunch buffet is highly recommended. Ive been going there since I moved to Lakeland Hills. I bring all my out of town visitors here and they all love it. Cant go wrong for lunch under ten dollars and the good taste keeps everyone happy. A shout out to my server Barb who always is professional and is who I ask for all the time.

I sometimes eat at this store for their lunch buffet. The pizza is really good along with the service. The only major complaint that I have ever had with this store, is the one time for dinner, the service was really bad. The hostess asked if I would rather go to the bar which was fine with me. I sat there for 20 minutes & was totally ignored by the staff. I walked out & ate somewhere else. I didn't eat here for a little over a year after that. That was the last time I ate dinner here.

  • Kristina L.

Try the drinks here. They also have Lava Lamps. 1. Lemondrop sampler is pretty stong. 2. Go during happy hour - try the buckets, the regular rum one is heart burn in a bucket but they also have long island and margarita buckets 3. Mozz bread and Buffalo wings are good Edit on the TV situation, last time I went in, all of the TVs I saw were flat screen, I'm not sure if that same old clunkly TV is in the other corner but next time I will check. The servers are friendly and it's a fun place to check out. Oh BTW, their pizza is probably closer to a NY style pizza than anything else.
