We live in the area and Wahoo's is our go-to summer outing for lunch, dinner or ice cream. My new favorite (and new on the employee specials menu) are the Korean BBQ tacos. Delicious!! Wahoo's adds creative menu items each year. This is not your standard roadside burger stand. Try the Bonanza burger!!

Philip sorry about your experience but this place is a winner, esp.. as its in the middle of no where. I had a Mabel patty melt perfectly cooked MR. Excellent fries and ice coffee, I was happy as a man lost in S Vermont. So glad I checked it out on Yelp, a mile down the road. PS the college girls were lovely to me, maybe a tad slow, but the burger was Perfect!

Great little place in the middle of nowhere! $6 cheeseburger , really yummy! Some people said it was pricey but we thought it was worth it :) the blue cheese was really strong....quality blue cheese . We would stop again... If we are ever in Vermont.

Only 5 reviews? Huh? Maybe you just don't have to review something that is legendary. I've only been a very temporary Vermonter over the years, and even I knew about it and couldn't wait to get back here. I had (ahem, on several occasions... apologies to the diet I was supposed to be on!) a great 6oz burger of VT grass-fed beef and cheese (sometimes with blue cheese, yummm). The bun is awesome, brioche-style but slightly crispy/crackly. I had some perfect hand cut fries, and maybe the best (I.e. non-soggy/underfried) sweet potato fries I've ever had. This is not a fancy-schmancy burger, not a restaurant-style burger, it is what it is, a roadside joint with picnic tables, and it excels at what it does. In fact, I took a young French friend of mine here to show her what a good American Hamburger can taste like. She liked it, of course, How could you not? (Ok, technically if one were a vegetarian...) Go visit the little creek behind the tables outside. It's a cute little place that seems almost like a secret.

Not impressed. Yes its a roadside stand, but we have come to expect better things from even foodtrucks so why should a roadside be any different? The hamburgers were tasteless waited forever to get it too. Fries were good as were the sweet potato fries. The ice cream was bland too. Bet your bottom dollar i wont be back.

Super-casual roadside stand. Had the portobello mushroom chicken wrap with a Gluten-Free Wrap. This one had a little too much balsamic vinegar for me but was still very tasty. The family really liked their crispy chicken and chicken caesar wraps. Sweet potato fries were good too. Ice cream afterwards was delicious! Soft-serve small was pretty big and had nice flavor. Kids really liked the S'mores and Toasted Coconut hard-serve flavors. Had a little line but moved quickly.

Popular outdoor drive-in restaurant serving ice cream treats, burgers, hot dogs, fish frys, sandwiches, salads, kids meals, & Pepsi fountain drinks (self-serve). This Wahoo's does not serve Fish Tacos like the Wahoo's in California. Bummer! There are wooden directional signs pointing to other Wilmingtons including Wilmington, CA which is 2,871 miles away. Gravel parking lot and picnic table seating outside. The clientele here is mostly tourists passing through the area. I ordered a Flurry ($3.75 tax included) with soft serve twist ice cream, Reeses Pieces, & topped with whipped cream, decent tasting and very sweet on a hot day. The service here was friendly and quick.

Conch fritters EXTREMELY salty and deep fried until overcooked and hard :( ...my husband's burger was good :)..overall not great and very pricey...$20 for burger, fritters, one small fries and 2 sodas

The wait can be long but the quality of the food and ingredients is really high. I really like the portabella wraps and conch fritters. The burgers are also excellent but they always slightly over-cook my medium rare request. If you are in the area I would suggest stopping by. You won't be disappointed.

This place hits the spot! Good burgers and good ice cream. I was camping in the area, needed a quick bite and saw this place. It's exactly what it looks like which is why I give it 5 stars. It's a quick burger place and you get a quick, made to order, burger. The Mallory burger was very good. Also, never ate on while sitting on a rock before. Very fun!

The burgers - really one star. Too raw inside, mushy, lack of any flavor and price too high - 6 bucks. Turkey burger tasted better (but no pickles??)) but too dry and again, blah. 4 stars for the ice cream soft serve. Super creamy, good (but not outstanding) flavor. For the ice cream the price is right, plus it is a fun outdoor summertime stop! (and crowded!!)

Driving past this place you'd think that all they have are burgers and hot dogs. But there are so many options! Chicken, fish, veggie burgers, and wraps. I love the no-nonsense deliciousness. The chicken sandwich with bacon and pineapple is great. The fish sandwich is also very good and topped with a creamy tartar-like sauce. The fries aren't bad--hand-cut and well-seasoned--but could definitely use a little more crisp and a little less sog. The ice cream is a must dessert. What's also great about Wahoo's is their environmental consciousness. They recycle and even compost! Plus, their utensils are compostable as well. The perfect stop when you're hungry and it's not raining!

Surprisingly good food and broad menu for fast food. Food is cooked to order and quite good. Hard to go wrong.

Wahoo's enjoys a sterling reputation for its community involvement, and that is more than reciprocated by customers who flock to this ultra-casual roadside stand day and night. And with good reason. Everything is cooked to order. We found the 6-ounce burgers from local grass-fed cattle exceptionally delicious: moist, not too overcooked (you can of course order well done if you want to avoid any flavor) and with a wide choice of fixings. Burgers are $6. The regular fries and parmesan /garlic fries are every bit as good, and the serving size is quite large. Our fellow-diners raved about their chili cheese dogs ($2.25-2.95); we have yet to sample them. But you can also choose a variety of sandwiches including a veggie burger, if so inclined. And they serve ice cream and shakes to a constant line of folks; we passed on dessert after getting filled up on the yummy burgers. Seating is outdoors, either at picnic tables or on soft, level rocks near the river, or, as we noticed, some people bring their own chairs and tables. Some Yelpers have noticed dirty areas; the bathroom and surroundings were clean when we looked, however. Folks in Wilmington, ravaged by Irene in 2011, tell us the owners endured a lot of damage, but like others here they have survived by helping out their neighbors. Not that you need another reason to enjoy the tasty food here, but doesn't that make you feel pretty good, too?

The food at Wahoo's is good. The burgers have a nice char on them and the fries are great. It's a casual setting next to the river and a good place to come at the end of the day for a quick meal. The place is recovering after having been trashed when T.S. Irene devastated a lot of the surrounding area in 2011. But here's the downer - the bathrooms and garbage areas were absolutely filthy on the day that we were there. It was concerning that employees were using those facilities and then preparing food. There were signs up apologizing for the state of the rest rooms. Rather than apologize how about have someone tackle the place with a mop? We've visited Wahoo's every time we've been up to Wilmington but I'm not too sure we'll be back again.

Always a fan, great sandwiches, yummy fries, nice selection, something for everybody. Cooled off with a soft serve icecream, just what I needed with this hot holiday weekend, got a baby cone for the dog. Such a huge menu, would love to see a bigger ice-cream menu. Always a clean bathroom, and eco-friendly garbage station.

A great summer roadside meal and soft-serve option. Picnic tables in the grass at the foot of a hill, and near a stream, make for a pleasant setting. The food is suprisingly good and varied, and the prices are reasonable.
(4)Margaret T.
Their soft ice cream is the best and the servings are HUGE. The "regular" cone is so large I don't know how you could eat a large, and this from someone who LOVES soft ice cream.

I love Wahoos! Nothing says summer to me and my family then going to Wahoos for dinner, which we do quite often since we live close by. The food is good and affordable and it's a great place to bring kids because it is outside and they can run around while waiting and not worry about spilling and messes. I highly recommend the wraps, particularly the portabella and chicken one and the steak one. The kids meals are a good bargain. We love to finish off a meal with an ice cream cone and a walk down to the stream.
