Visited there Saturday, service was prompt and friendly. Nice brew selection. Had Ham Sandwich with melted cheddar, caramelized onions and green apples. Delicious. My wife had the Mussels in curry sauce, also excellent. Definitely return befoe we leave.

You might be on day three of your ski trip, stretching your stamina to its fullest, so you try to take it easy at dinner one night, eat light, order the veggie burger. When it comes out deep fried, you'll smile to yourself, repeat the mantra "you're on vacation", and dive in. And you'll love it. Plenty of beers on tap, sweet potato fries hit the spot, and the BBQ sauce for the wings was surprisingly tangy. All around great place!

I do miss the days when the Maple Leaf was an operating brewery, but the size of the location just didn't work as a brewpub. Tanks were traded for tables when the town voted down a proposed expansion. Luckily the current craft beer selection helps erase my fond memories of the past, and the staff and food keep me coming back. Another downtown Wilmington survivor from the devastating hurricane and flooding of 2011. Bouncing back from such a disaster couldn't be easy, but Margaret (owner) is a strong woman rebuilt with determination. Menu stand outs for me are the Bloody Mary's, their craft beer selection, nachos, and a VT melt with slices of granny smith apples, cheese, onions, and ham, on some fresh baked slices of hearty bread. There are usually 2-3 in house made soups that are perfect after a day on the slopes. Maple Leaf is an interesting place. You can show up and be 1 of 3 people in the entire place, or 1 of 100. Bar and wait staff are great, and true local VT'ers - not winter imports.

Sketchy service! We're local and often the food is good and service can be fine. Last night the place was NOT crowded we waited for an hour and NO food. The drinks were fine and now gone. By the way, we have our four-year old with us. We finally ask if there is a problem and the lady tells me "you're next". I motion to the other table already eating that came in after us and she says " I know, you are next" and walks away! Let that sink in and the hubby goes in to the kitchen where nothing's being cooked. The order had not even been started on and the lady lies to us and says something spilled. The entire order?? We're offered crackers... Mistakes happen, but be honest, let your customers know what is going on and maybe try to be proactive in making up for it. We paid for the drinks and walked out. Our son was left exhausted and crying. Total disappointment in our tiny town with few food options.

This was a great place in downtown Wilmington to grab lunch on our way back to NJ. It's a small restaurant and bar with a sort of rustic feel. We were promptly seated at a table. I decided to order their Vegetarian chilli and sweet potato fries while my husband ordered a burger. Our waitress was friendly and brought out our food quickly. The side order of fries was huge! But the fries were delicious, not greasy, or too sweet. It was a great pair with the super spicy chilli! I couldn't finish my food so I took it home with me. Next time we're in town, we'll have to try some of their local beers. Wilmington has been my favorite little town in Vermont that I've passed through.

Hit and Miss. The artichoke dip, is phenomenal! They add a small amount of jalapeno to it which beautifully balances out the dairy in it. The goat cheese/ portabella mushroom sandwich I got was ok, but the whole thing was a mess of juiciness. The bread could not compete with the balsamic reduction. It was just a wet soggy pile of food. I was also surprised by the limited number of taps. Nothing was brewed on site, so the name is a little misleading.

Walking up to the place after day of skiing and smelling the aromas from the street had be ready to e in from the start. Inside we were greeted promptly and decided to sit at the bar. Service at that point was a little slow as it was sift change but our "new" server was very good. Nachos were very light and the salsa was flavorful. Cheese could have been distributed slightly better and more generously. But they were the lightest nachos I ever had and not it a bad way at all. My wings were pretty good. They didn't blow me away but didn't have to as they were wings! A little crispy and good flavor. Can't ask for much more. The Shepard's pie came out very good but maybe a light sauce should have been used to elevate the moisture content. All in all its a great place to stop on the way home from MT Snow.

Am a fan of the turkey Reuben. Large enough for lunch today and tomorrow!

Awful. Restaurant was freezing. We literally kept our winter coats on during the entire meal. Food was average at best and not made to order . Orders were delivered incorrectly. They were also out of 3-4 things on an already small menu. Service was slow and waitress indifferent. I'd give zero if I could. Only redeeming quality is a decent beer selection.

According to the waitress they haven't brewed there in 5 years. Still called Malt&Brewing, one of the reasons we stopped there. Just hit Wilmington to stretch our legs and grab a beer. Average selection of beers, the service was very prompt and courteous. We stopped at the beginning of school vacation week. The bartenders were discussing how busy it had been there. Nice place the menu looked interesting. But don't advertise yourself as a brew pub and not offer local brews.

Stopped in for lunch and thought the atmosphere was nice. Cool little bar area with some tables to the side in downtown Wilmington. I had a chicken sandwich for lunch which was very good and my girlfriend got the nachos. They were good as well but she complained they were a bit greasy. One thing I did not like was there was one waitress on it took about 10 minutes before she even asked us what we want to drink. The food took awhile to come out too but overall a solid place to stop for lunch.

First time in Vermont, so hit up Maple Leaf for dinner. The bartender/waitress was a sweetheart, the menu is very diverse, and the beer selection is quite good. The food came out very promptly. However, the meal (Kielbasa and Sauerkraut - a special on the menu) was awfully underwhelming. The mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, and kielbasa were all extremely bland and all a different temperature which wasn't particularly pleasant.

I'm in Wilmington at least once a month and this is my go-to spot. You might have to wait a bit for your food, quality takes time, but your beer won't go empty! I recommend a Switchback on draft, you won't be sorry! Enjoy!!

Visiting Wilmington? Looking for good food and a friendly atmosphere? Look no further -- Maple Leaf is the place you had in mind. Just keep in mind that they're in no rush to get your out the door, so you shouldn't be in a hurry, either. First things first: they have a very impressive beer list, so I highly recommend sticking with suds versus ordering their wines -- just don't. The beer ranges from local to picks from CO, and they always have daily specials on tap -- just ask the server or check the chalkboard by the bar. Their menu looks mouth-watering, but I have to be honest: my burger was disappointing and over-cooked. It had all the makings of a superior meal: bacon, avocado and Swiss cheese, but without proper cooking or seasoning, it fell short. Where they do NOT fall short are the appetizers -- we had some amazing fired pickled that were salty, crunchy and hot out of the fryer. They were a perfect accompaniment to the beers and quite easily the best fried pickles I have ever had. They also serve up a killer heap of nachos grande - we ordered sans meat and were still impressed with the fresh salsa, delicious cheeses and zesty jalapeno toppings. I had a few bites of the chicken quesadilla which was much better than my burger and packed up quite easily and reheated quite well for a take-out item. Also, their fries are fabulous -- in fact, I filled up on these when my burger fell short. Again, the service, while incredibly friendly and helpful, was slow and a bit scattered. We were missing a few items and, by the time we got the bill and left, had been there for over two hours. Just keep this and the fact that they do not take reservations in mind when you visit, and you'll have a fine time.

Great selection of beer and good food. Nachos el grande are really Grande, burgers are good too.

Stopped here for drinks on our way to Brattleboro. Nice atmosphere. No longer brew their own beer, but have a local tap selection.

Ended up driving past Maple Leaf Malt & Brewing though some heavy ski traffic on the way back to NJ via Albany. Since I noticed the word 'brewery' I made a driver initiated stop and forced my 2 passengers to follow. Apparently they contract brew a single beer. I tried it and it was OK but not impressive. Ended up paying around 5$ for the pint and both of my passengers must have had a hard day at the slopes, they were falling asleep and had no interest in après-ski. Would have given them a few more stars if they made more beer. It is also important to note that I did not try their food items.

Beers is excellent and so were the cider/coconut/curry mussels. Perfect place for a quiet Saturday afternoon lunch. Their house Maple Leaf Brown Ale is light and nutty. They also have a good selection of eight local craft beers. Wings were perfectly crispy and the artichoke dip was large and very flavorful.

I did not get to go the restaurant because they were closed. I am disappointed becAuse the steamers there were my favorite. I only hope they are closed for the season and not permanently!went there the next night. The mussels with spaghetti and garlic bread was amazing! The Vermont melt with cheddar cheese and green apples my hubby enjoyed! The Boston cream cake was very good. The waitress showed us the pictures of Irene and I am grateful this place is still here. I love getting steamers here in New England. The waitress was helpful and friendly .

Incredible dining experience, but most importantly was the quality of customer service. My partner and I stopped by here during a weekend trip up on the mountain and had a wonderful time walking around Wilmington on a biting cold Saturday. We perused the local book store, checked out a nice jewelry shop (she was looking for gift ideas), and finally made our way to the Maple Leaf Malt restaurant. Upon entrance, we were immediately welcomed at the door and found seating right away. The beer list was great: a combo of local and more common beers. And the list of specialty sandwiches was incredible. But the most important thing to me were the people that worked there. Our waitress was very friendly from start to finish. And the even more incredible part was this: I paid the bill with my credit card and after signing the bill, I forgot to return my card to my wallet (Perhaps the beer was too good...) And it was only upon returning to my home in the Capital Region of NY (1hr-1.5h away) that I realized I'd left it! I called the restaurant and the person on staff at the time, without even giving a second thought, told me she would mail it right away to my home address once she was off her shift. And sure enough, 2 days later, I received it (with a lovely note wishing me a happy Thanksgiving and holiday season). In a time of fast-paced, level [insert color] threat, [insert adjectives about globalization], it was so nice to find that people are people, and are willing to help out another person in a time of need. Thank you, good samaritan and I will definitely be coming back!

So couple things going on here that I think management should address. The hostess basically told us to sit at the bar upon walking in because they were saving multiple tables for two larger families that were coming in for dinner. Naturally as other people came in to have dinner it kind of clogged the bar area having to wait for additional table. When they finally did set up this large table, it was jutting out to the point that you had to squish by them to get to the bathroom. I think the restaurant is too small to take reservations, but that's just my thought. Considering we ate at fiddleheads the night before and already had a nice sit down, we were okay just eating at a pub table. The bartender was nice and selection of beers were pretty good. The food was a bit disappointing as we both had higher expectations. However given the decor is nice, there aren't many options, and they're trying to overcome Hurricane Irene Flooding, I think they deserve a third chance.

Stopped in for an early dinner on a Friday night. The mussels in curry broth was a first for us and was quite good as was the portobello sandwich. Our server seemed distracted but did an adequate job. My main reservation about this restaurant is the noise level, which was high though not unbearable....too many hard surfaces bouncing sounds around.

My friend and I enjoyed the Maple Leaf. They were having some issues with their taps lines so their beer selection was smaller than most days. The beer we did try was very tasty. The bartender was very nice and it seemed to have a strong local following. We did not order any food based on other reviews but it all smelled pretty good.

The apple burgers were delicious and the service was great. The homemade apple pie a la mode was pretty good, too. I recommend while you're in town.

Once upon a time Maple Leaf would get five stars but I desperately miss their beer. Desperately. That said: there is no place else I go when in Wilmington. Nope. So, 4.5 would be my score if possible. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the area and menu and beer (they have a phenomenal beer list!), and fun. I love how unpretentious Maple Leaf is no matter who's there when. The space is great and I was glad to see more tables (even if it's because if the brew room). The food is awesome, especially the burgers. My husband only eats the Ski Bum Burger - it has a new name but the staff will know if you ask. The mile high club is ridiculously good and my staple. Always find out about the soups - so good! Great location for lunch/dinner/drinks and snacks if you're in the area or traveling across southern VT.

We almost didn't go to the Maple Leaf due to negative reviews, but with bad road conditions and burger cravings it was the closest place. I'm happy we went. Great nachos, good veggie burger and good Mountain Burger. It's small though so better get there early if you want a spot. I'm only giving it 4 starts because it was over priced ($11 nachos, $12 veggie burger), but still good.

Really, really liked this place. A fantastic beer selection and a worthwhile order of nachos with chicken sealed the deal. I visited the Maple Leaf twice (two separate days during the Tough Mudder in August '13; see my other reviews for other places I visited) and was very happy with the service (not only was the staff friendly, but they went out of their way to be hospitable and offered tastes of beer if I wasn't certain about something I wanted to try). And really, that's a good start. It set the tone for a great weekend. The food was great as well. I had a beautiful high-piled order of nachos with homemade salsa. I could look around, and see other folks eating wraps, burgers...their inability to talk was pretty much proof that the food was good, because everyone seemed to be shoveling it in. (One guy, a few seats down from me, was loving the Thai Chili chicken wings he'd ordered. I noted that for my next visit.) The place is beautiful after everything was restored since the hurricane damage; Margaret (the owner) showed me pictures from the flooding, and it's amazing what work was done. They really did an outstanding job, and when you walk in, the place is inviting. Hardwoods, nice lighting, good music -- it was busy with Mudders on Saturday when we came in for food, but there wasn't a long wait, and everyone else seemed to be fine with getting seats (my friend and I opted for the bar, so it was quicker). I would absolutely stop back again. Great joint!

Definitely try the curried mussels! Delicious! Everything was so fresh and homemade. Seems like a place that tourists AND locals go to. Nice, casual atmosphere in a quaint downtown. Get a window seat and you could do some window shopping from where you sit. This is not a brewing company anymore. It used to be, but with the new owners, they no longer brew on site. They're still trying to get the name changed everywhere online.

Hit or miss restaurant in small town Wilmington. Our expectations were a bit higher after all was said and done. Ordered a hodgepodge of veggie mac, nachos, and fish n' chips. Meh. The seafood was the best of the pub-fare menu, but judging by other's nearby you come to ML for a burger. The specials looked appealing, but weren't being bought up on this particular night (Sunday). I realized why when I read the kid's special: PB&J. Meh. Another thing to note is crowd noise here. It is LOUD. We sat next to a couple who 'shushed' a family with seven (7!) kids at the table. I'm mournful that Mr. Manners wanted to meddle in his mussels in majestic VT, but you picked the wrong joint, bubba. Don't be that guy and give America a bad name by calling it out - eat your measly mussels at home. :)

Tough Mudder here. Stayed at the Nutmeg Inn down the street and the owners recommended stopping in for dinner. Seemed like a lot of the other temporary Wilmingtonites were told the same -- the place was pretty crowded the night before the race. Here's what you can expect if you're up in Wilmington around dinner time: Standard American pub fare: Burgers, Fish and Chips, Meatballs, Pasta, etc. Newly renovated decor consistent with what you'd expect from a local Vermont eatery -- I got a "log cabin" feel. I had the Salt & Pepper Fish and Chips -- a refreshing take on the classic. The batter was pretty unique compared to similar dishes I've had before. However, I found myself very disappointed at the small beer selection...why add "Malt & Brewing" to your name if you don't offer much in terms of Malt or Brewing? I digress. I had a good meal overall, but if I do Tough Mudder again next year, I might be inclined to try someplace else, although I wouldn't be too disappointed if I found myself back at MLMB.

Must have curry cider mussels!! The are the best. They do tend to run out of them fast..fresh and well prepared. Good burgers, turkey burger very moist and good. Salads are huge and fresh. The selection of beers too is great. Service also quick and friendly.

I really enjoyed the menu and atmosphere of this place. The staff were friendly and quick with food and drinks. I ordered the mussels in Madras curry with apples and onions. I thought the broth was delicious but was disappointed that 5 or 6 of the mussels were not open. The staff seems unconcerned when I pointed this out. Otherwise the experience would have been 4 or 5 stars.

Stopped in here to get some dinner. It was pretty dead for a Friday night (4 people other than us) but it is the summer. Huge bonus points for UFO on draught. We ordered nachos expecting a plate of nachos. What we got was a huge heaping pile of nachos. We thought it was a little pricey until after we saw it. For dinner we split a burger, it was a 1/2lb beef burger with bacon, vermont cheddar, and granny smith apples with onions on it. It was amazing. Drinks were 5 bucks a pop and we got out of there for around 40-50$ for 2 or 3 rounds plus food. Street parking and a nice little area. You can wander around after stopping in. There is a nice bridge nearby. Bartender was very nice. They also have a mug club which sounded interesting Would go back again

Stayed up at a local inn for the weekend with my boyfriend. Decided on this place for dinner Saturday night because the reviews said burgers were good and we were in the mood for them. Or something like them... Got a couple beers. Nice selection, just enough to satisfy - no taps are wasted on gross beer (yes, there is such a thing). We got a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and turkey burger with regular fries and cut the two in half to try both. First the pulled pork - it was nice and moist and tender with just enough sauce. So tasty! We were worried that the turkey burger wouldn't measure up. Were we wrong! The turkey burger was OUTSTANDING! Some sort of garlic butter on the top part of the bun and maple syrup on the bottom. And diced red peppers mixed into the turkey! Seemed to make it really moist. Perfect flavor combination...three days later I'm thinking we need to make another weekend trip!

Just passing through and found this little surprise which produced some interesting likes. One of my youngins ordered a buffalo chicken quesadilla which was weirdly delicious. I ordered the turkey burger, which was pretty good, and the soup of the day which was an ale soup. Turned out to be akin to french onion soup but was the best dang french onion soup I think I've ever had. Loved it! Really enjoyed the house root beer. Good prices, great service.

Newly remodeled, and accidentally walked in here with a bunch of friend the first day they reopened. Awesome service, great menu choices and good space for day and night relaxation. Great location and goes highly recommended. Artichoke dip is awesome; buffalo wings are awesome - no need for the grande nachos if you get the chips n dip app. But go for it... i'm sure it's improved since they reopened! Let us know! Enjoy!!

I met an old friend there for dinner and was very disappointed with my experience. I ordered a sesame noodle dish with vegetables and chicken that was priced at around $14. I'm a vegetarian, so I asked for it without the chicken. When the food was brought out, there were a few small pieces of vegetables and a huge bowl of noodles that tasted like Ramen with a cup of vinegar dumped on it. It was unpalatable. I ate about two bites. Despite the fact that the restaurant was almost empty, the waitress never came to check in on us. After a long period, she came to ask if we needed anything else. I almost never do this, but I told her the food was bad. She apologized and asked if she could get me something else for dinner (my friend finished his). I declined as we needed to leave and she went ahead and charged me the $14 on our bill. As a former waitress, I was really surprised by this. I can only hope the other items on the menu were tasty. So disappointed.

Last time I was in the Maple Leaf, 4 officious looking troopers came in on a mission to wrest the restaurant of its dishwasher. The patrons, bedecked in their aprés (and sometims just straight "ski") gear looked on condescendingly, self-satisfiedly clucking about how such a spectacle could never occur in their south-shore suburban long island towns, as the man was escorted around. My dining partner and I, on the other hand, always enjoy free entertainment. It's pretty wild to think that far from the affectation of the LES bar scene, there's a kick-ass cops-themed bar with live afternoon theater. Should be mentioned that our nachos came out shortly after, which surely required a remarkable, inhuman bout of focus from the chef during the whole aforesaid ordeal. The atmosphere is pretty basic -- it's just a pub with food for hungry skiers. Draught list is reasonable though rarely includes the house brews. Service is friendly and the windows overlook the intersection of 100 and 9. Ironically, many of those same sorts of long island types can be see being pulled over in their land leviathans as they sail through the intersection, only to be immediately confronted with an onslaught of flashing lights form Wilmington's quaintly aggressive little police force. A good stop coming from Mt. Snow, and an even more ambitious one en route to it.

Just ate here tonight. Great meal. We started off with mozzarella sticks - the marinara was amazing. My entree was the turkey burger with the maple glaze on it. They nailed that... It was the best burger ive had in 2012. Service was good, prices were great, no complaints here. Oh and i had the beer sampler which was ample, got me right where i needed to be.

Great Monday night music, good food, generous drinks, friendly staff. We had a really nice night there. You can eat burgers and healthy salads, good variety of beer and fair prices. It's not a brewery any more but who cares.
