Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I am from NYC, was up here for 3 days on a business trip. Shuen Lee is a traditional mom and pop shop and the food was amazing fresh and good. I highly recommend this Chinese takeout joint. It's a gem in Vergennes, Vermont.

I guess the other reviewers haven't had good Chinese food because this place is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CHINESE FOOD I'VE EVER HAD!! I tried this place a couple times when I first moved down to Waltham from Burlington and it was terrible. I heard from a few people that it changed owners and that it was really good. I tried it again recently and it was still complete crap food. The rice was overcooked, the chicken was full of fat and greasy and my wife's egg foo young was mushy. The restaurant is mainly take out and looks dirty and not very well maintained inside and out. If you live in northern/eastern Addison County and want great Chinese food, you're better off going to Middlebury to Sabai Sabai (Japanese & Chinese) or to south Middlebury on Route 7 to Magic Wok, which is fantastic and VERY inexpensive, but don't have a liquor license. You can bring your own or they have water or soft drinks. Avoid Shuen Lee unless cheap ingredient garbage Chinese food is your thing. Some of the of the worst food I've ever put in my mouth.

This is strictly a take-out joint & I must say it is very busy. I believe it's the only one in Vergennes, the "smallest city in the USA." We had Curry Chicken, Singapore Mai Fun, Spicy House Fried Rice & Boneless Spare Ribs, and they were all quite average. The Curry Chicken and Mai Fun were a little mushy - I don't know why. The service was friendly but extremely slow for a Chinese restaurant. The servings were ample and filled the belly, but nothing exquisite here.

We just moved to North Ferrisburgh and needed a new "go-to" Chinese place... I did a google search and found Shuen Lee's, which is about 7 minutes from my new house.. I called, ordered crab rangoons, hot and sour soup, General Tso's Chicken and a seafood combo for my boyfriend and I... SO GOOD... I couldn't believe the food quality.. I mean, When finding the place to pick up the food, it's such a little hole in the wall with a faded sign out front that I thought the food/service might match that... I was very delighted with the customer service, the pricing was great (about 2/3 of what we used to pay at Men at Wok in Williston), and the food was so yummy :) I'm so excited to have a new "go-to" Chinese place! Thanks Shuen Lee!!

Amazing food!!!! The owner is a great guy. He makes the best food and will remember how you like whatever you are ordering.

The first time I ordered their large Pork Lo Mein and it was tasty and satisfying. The 2nd visit, I discovered their "Combo Special" which includes fried rice and choice of either egg roll, spring roll, vegetable roll, chicken fingers, wings, spare rib or crab rangoon. So, I ordered the #11, chicken with mixed vegetables and white rice with egg roll. The entree was very tasty with the steamed white rice, but the egg roll was too doughy with not much taste--they should have used half the egg roll cover to make it less thick, then maybe you could taste the filling. The 3rd visit, I ordered the same #11, since it was so good the last time and decided to try the spring roll. The main dish was still good, so consistency was there, but the spring roll was very good, it was light and you could taste the filling. The 4th visit, I wanted chow mein, which in Chinese means "fried noodles", so I ordered Combo Special #4, Roast Pork Chow Mein to go. When I got home I was dismayed that there were no noodles! I called the restaurant and the receptionist (who wasn't Asian) said, "chow mein" means chopped vegetables. He said "Lo Mein" means fried noodles. He's WRONG, Lo Mein is a type of noodle, "Chow Mein" means fried noodles in Chinese! "CHOP SUEY" means stir fried chopped vegetables! So, beware if you want noodles and you order chow mein, you won't get noodles in any of their "chow mein" dishes.
