Three Bean is a great little coffee shop, tucked away just off main st. They have really good pastries and baked goods all made in-house. Love going in on a Sunday morning and reading the paper over a cup of coffee and morning glory muffin.

Comfy little coffee shop tucked in a spacious old home (looks like a b&b from the street) in a quaint Central Vermont town. Just the right size for this town, and sufficiently busy and high spirited. Very comfortable atmosphere, an adequate variety of pastries, and a nice selection of beverages. My two biggest cons about this place are very minor - only a few brews of coffee (I like light roasts and they only have a dark and a 'mild' which is still pretty dark), and no agave as a sweetener. Little things that would have nudged them up to 5 stars - overall a great little place and still leaps and bounds above any S-Bucks.

Tomato soup billed as having pesto and ricotta topping came cheese and herb free. As presented, it was merely canned tomatoes mixed with some sauteed celery and onion- no spice whatever. Could have complained to the management, however, he was busy counting money on the food prep side of the counter in full view of patrons. It's on Pleasant Street, however, the experience was most unpleasant.

The veg soups, when they're on, are some of the best I've had in my life. They're pretty rustic, in the best sense: they feel like the farmer's wife just made them, and that farmer's wife has a lot of talent! Cookies are also excellent, again with an attractive roughly-made quality about them; the bagels in the morning are the best, to my taste, north of NYC -- way better than we can easily get here in Boston, where I live. These people are deceptively talented, and the place has a great, village mood -- you meet some interesting people here. Ask the staff about nearby restaurants, markets, etc., as the Randolph/Brookfield area's gotten to be a little bit -- thankfully not really noticed from the outside -- of a foodie hub, the last few years. I stop in this café every time I'm in the area -- couldn't do without it!

Conveniently hidden just off main street, Three Bean is a quintessential Vermont homespun coffee house, literally; it's an establishment built on the ground floor of a family home. Everything I had here was tasty and fresh even for late in the afternoon, and rightly priced. Cafe mocha? Dark, not sickeningly sweet, and was a healthy size. Came here to burn some time while my mom was at an interview, so also took advantage of their complimentary high speed wi-fi. Very simple, very content!

First, keep in mind that this place exists in a very rural part of the state. So options are pretty limited as far as a good place to grab lunch and coffee. That said, the folks over at Three Bean do a great job. The atmosphere is pretty cozy and is very appropriate for a "coffee house" type establishment. I had a slice of their sausage pizza and a cup of their ground meat, tomato, and bean soup. It was fresh and tasty. They have great coffee and a wide array of baked goods. Breakfast & Lunch specials change daily. I only live 20 minutes away so I imagine I'll be back again!
