Light on the castleton bike trail it is a nice place to destination ride to for lunch from castleton. Stopped in for a beer and decided to have something to eat. Split the fish tacos (salmon) with fries and the seasonal veggie which was local green beans and carrots. Very good nice portion. Would have taken pic but was too hungry! Nice selection of draft beers including Vermont beers such as zero gravity and drop inn

The food is sub-par. The server messed up our order 4 times, then blamed it on the loud music Even though i repeated my self twice then asked if she heard me - she said yes. Just not worth the time and money.

Good beer selection and yummy loaded fries. Will be back to try something else on the menu.

I ate here again at the end of the year and it changed my 3 star rating significantly and bumped it up one star! It was early on a Friday night and we were seated and given drinks very quickly. The food had improved significantly than when I went there six months ago. The person I was with had the Farm Burger while I had the chicken tenders with fries. The burger had fresh ingredients and the only complaint was that he didn't have another one! My tenders were better and the fries were great! My only complaint revolved around a leaky plastic cup that got water all over the table--but the waitress easily fixed that by giving us a new one. Great place and hope to go there again soon!

The service is so slow... And the food is nothing special. The food here is so bland... And unreasonably expensive. I gave this place so many chances but everything on the menu was a miss. Their calamari is prepared differently but not in a way that makes it tasteful. Their burgers were ok and the steak as well. I wish this place had a popular dish or something that makes it stand out but the only thing is that it has a bar and live music during week.

Their only plus is they have Fiddlehead IPA. The service is unreasonably slow and the food is over priced for the quality. Their hot wing sauce is good. Real creepy paintings on the way to the men's room. Not being open at 10:55 on a Friday night says something...

Good beers on tap and tasty food. Always a good selection of specials too. Live music many evenings, but it is not so loud that you can't have a conversation at the other end of the front if you'd rather catch up with friends.

Being a local, I am so glad to have this tavern in town. I can bring my kids there, they serve locavore food, and the owner is passionate about her business. Music every night, whether jazz on Wednesdays or bluegrass on Tuesdays [{the local bluegrass scene in Poultney is not to be missed! } The local burgers [I get mine gluten-free} are phenomenal, so I don't really venture from them, the chef always gets it right. {I only eat local beef, and ask for it RARE - I would only do this for local beef} Salads in the summer have local greens from Dutchess Farm, {2014 summer} Yes you might pay more for a local burger here, but it goes down WELL knowing that I am supporting not only a great local eatery, {who keeps us entertained over the long Vermont winters} but also supports local farms. They know everyone here, and when you walk in, it is like the CHEERS bar, everyone knows your name.

Great food, and beer selection. The new owners are very friendly too. Stop in and check them out, they will not disappoint.

Went there to have a few beers and watch the football game Monday night. On their facebook page they advertised football and wings for Sundays games, so I figured surely they'd have the game on. However, no game. We turned on the TVs but it appear if the cable bill wasn't paid or something because we could only get 1 channel. The bartender was very nice, the beer was great and priced right. The atomsphere is perfect for a tavern. I haven't eaten there yet but my brother has a few times and said the food has been great every time. Looking forward to eating and drinking there in the future, maybe the TVs will work next time.

Adela & Jude found this gem when we were on tour, and performed there about 16 months ago. What an awesome place, great food - and stellar beer collection - and we had a great crowd who partied with us all night long - cannot wait to get back there!

Live music on a Thursday night in Poultney. Yes, and the solo guitar player and singer was actually quite good. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. My burger was excellent. They even know how to properly pull a Guiness!

I moved to VT a couple years ago, having spent the last few years in Boston. I was accustomed to the kind of bar that was welcoming and chill. Taps is a hip place. Tasty grub, large craft beer selection, liquor and good tunes. They have a weekly bluegrass sit in, jazz, folk, and a diverse collection of touring pro troubadour types. I'd like to see an open mic, maybe some day. The staff could not be friendlier and the scene is real mellow. It's the kind of bar I thought I would have in VT, but took too long to find. I'm a mug owner now and plan on using it on the regular. I know I sound like I own stock in the place, but I'm just excited that I don't have to drive 2 hours for a great bar anymore. And this place is probably better anyway.

Great beers on tap, and good food to wash it down with. One of my favorite buffalo chicken wraps in the state.

What can I say about taps that hasn't been said about America? Proud, beautiful, and majestic. I had an order of wings that hit my mouth like Tyson would in his prime. Couple that with the endless divorcee moms just hunting for anything under 35 years of age, a few drinks, and you have something really special. Some people may say, 'hey, this place is a dive and I'm in the hamptons!' Well, sir or--most likely--madam, I say you've obviously missed the VIP area consisting of my laughter at your angry face. Taps, Long Island's Ritz Carlton.
