I ate here with my girlfriend Saturday 3/21/15 and was skeptical given the reviews. Don't let them scare you. Our server, Vince, was excellent and very attentive. The restaurant was well staffed and never had to wait for anything. Kudos to them, especially during a busy Saturday night service. I had the french onion soup which was solid and a very good sirloin steak with demi glaze. I would say the veggies on the side were just okay. I would come back again and would recommend to friends. Pleasantly surprised!

Not the place to go for high quality dining. We had a poor experience here on 9/3/2012. Appetizers: Calamari was good, all others came at room temperature and very bland. Main course: duck was ok, chicken stuffed with feta and spinach was room temperature and under cooked, filet migon (medium rare) was overcooked (grey through out). Dessert was ok....bill over $200 with tip. Will not return.

We were highly disappointed with this restaurant. Nothing was truly good but we were especially disappointed in the vegetables--they were supposed to be roasted, but they were just as bland and lackluster as the sorry duck who died in vain for this meal. And the poor crab who also made the ultimate sacrifice just to end up picked over and insulted. Potatoes, carrots and beans going from the fields to the plates to the trash never experiencing the joys of salt or other wonderful seasonings before their ultimate demise. It was like a funeral for food. If you gave this place and this chef anymore than one or two stars, I suggest you stop eating most of your meals and just go straight for the ensure or better yet, just buy the damn carrots and eat them out of the bag!

I didn't actually eat here. I called the restaurant from my room and no one answered the phone, the line went to voicemail. Fifteen minutes later I went down to eat and was told that my table would be ready in ten minutes even though there were many empty tables inside. I explained that I had called and was told "I have been standing here all night" when in reality the gentleman was running around bussing and setting tables, so I could have called when he was doing one of those tasks. Twenty minutes later I was not yet seated and things looked REALLY slow, so we went up to the room and ate food we had brought with us.

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about but we had the meatloaf and it was outstanding!!!

Overpriced poor quality. Apps: crab cake was excellent, calamari was bland and over cooked. Rock hard rings that were tasteless. Beet salad was ok. They tout farm to table but the rolls were similar to the frozen kind you buy in bulk. A $37 pork chop was thin and over cooked and a side of squash was hard and undercooked. The NY strip for $37 was bland and also a thin cut. Spent a lot of money on a very poor dining experience.

My sister and I stayed at the Inn for the weekend for a summer festival. We had two nice dinner meals here. My sister enjoyed her NY steak strip and the roasted radishes. The maple ice cream with ginger snaps was a special creamy treat. I had the Caprese salad and the vegetarian ravioli. Both were very good. We especially enjoyed or server, David, with his professional, attentive, and personable demeanor. We returned for a second meal. I had a veggie burger (from the lunch menu) and my sister tried the crab cakes. We shared the Bonne Bouche place of cheese, lightly toasted bread and fruit and loved it. The martinis and wine list are great. A little pricey but we were satisfied.

Excellent service and meals for both my friend and me. We ordered mussels as an appetizer and the seafood risotto. The mussels were delicious soaked in broth. The risotto had perfectly cooked scallops, shrimp, mussels and prawn. The chef personally served our dinner and the expresso to finish the night was strong and frothy.

We ate there two nights ago and an old lesson popped back into my head: service makes a meal. Ordered a tavern salad and the chicken and a diet Pepsi. Salad came out after 20 minutes, the we waited 40. The kids had two servings of macaroni and cheese before we asked where our food was (waiter didn't have courtesy to tell us). He then said he's getting the manager involved to see what's going on. Manager comes out, apologizes and says "there are 1-2 tickets ahead of us" (mind you, the whole restaurant had been served and people had finished and left all in the span of us waiting). Another half hour rolls by and waiter just says "food isn't here yet, that's crazy". Didn't offer to get another round or anything. My brother asks to speak with manager and she comes out and apologizes again. This time she says they're picking up the tab. We ate there two nights prior. Food is decent but overpriced, the ambience is ok although it's a family place (there will be kids there). Service is a toss up at best. I will never eat here again and I frequent Okemo. Hands down the worst service I've ever had and my meal was comped. It was bad enough to put this review online. From top to bottom, the management and wait staff displayed complete incompetence and what's more is they didn't seem to care. Don't ruin your evening: seek a dining experience elsewhere.

If the food were as good as the service, it'd be nearly five stars. We had Reilly as our server, and she was everything you could hope for. Friendly, helpful, on top of things, etc. And if the food were as good as the setting - just at the base of Jackson Gore and beautiful in the summer -- again, it would be higher. But ultimately we came in for lunch one warm summer day and left feeling disappointed. Prices were fine, but the food was really hit or miss. The kids burger was, well how do we say it? Really dead. So overcooked that even a kid who eats nearly everything said it was kind of gross. And the chicken club (not really a club/triple decker sandwich), had chicken that was nearly flavorless. And the ramen soup was greasy. That said, the veggie tacos and the pulled pork sandwiches were bigger hits with the rest of our group. And the food came out hot and quick. But for this location, there shouldn't be misses. Servers like Reilly deserve food to match the level of service.

Unfortunately, for a place I want to like yet I am consistently disappointed. It is at Okemo and only for convenience do I ever eat here. If you want a very high end dinner it is OK, but the quality just doesn't seem to live up to the price. For other meals it is really lacking. Holiday weeks with a captive audience how busy they are seems to give the appearance of being well run, but really it seems to miss the audience. 1 saving grace may be the excellent wine selection. They market themselves as farm to table and that may be for some meals, but not all. Breakfast in particular is very over priced. Scrambled eggs with toast, homefries, and bacon is $11. The toast is inconsistent, sometime a nice thick local bread and other times a thin, hard, market bread. They server frozen tri-color potatoes which lack any flavor. Each time, my bacon was burned to a crisp. The pancakes are pretty good an do come with real maple syrup. The french toast is so-so. They have a tavern with a separate Tavern Menu which really seems to miss the mark. It is basically the restaurant light and not typical tavern fare at all. They finally added a burger to the menu. Outside of that for both lunch and dinner it is over priced and pretentious. The typical tavern customer wants quick, simple food. This tries to go really high end without offering the basic sandwiches and comfort foods you would expect. I have mentioned this to them for 3-4 years now, but it has remained the same and the staples that were there a few years ago were removed. The kids menu is probably the biggest waste of money you could find anywhere. $10 a meal and the kids are left hungry at the end. The Mac n' Cheese is clearly a serving of Kraft E-Z Mac you can by at the store for 99 cents. If you are going to charge $10 it should at least be fresh made. Even the kids pizza is a frozen crust with some cheap sauce and cheese on it. The only thing they have going for them is the bar which offers a nice selection of bottled beers, the drafts outside of Long Trail and Harpoon leave much to be desired. Do yourself a favor and go into town and for less money you can get a better meal.

It seems this is a place that wants to be upscale, but due to the nature of the rustic surroundings, it just isn't. Our server was horribly unfriendly, and unhelpful. The food was decent, nothing great, but nothing bad. We all had some kind of burger and ordered them medium, but all seemed to be a different level of doneness. The outside patio is a nice option, although the view of the waffle shack and non functioning ski lift isn't pretty. There are no TVs in the dining room and it seemed a little stuffy in there. At the end of our meal, our female server brought the check, placed it in front of one of the two men and said "thank you, gentlemen." WTF?! So she either thought I was a man (I think this is unlikely) or assumed I wouldn't be paying and completely ignored my presence (methinks this is more likely than the previous theory) Gross.

If and only if you are staying at Jackson Gore and you just don't want to travel anywhere and you might starve to death if you don't eat then I guess it is ok to eat here once. Presentation fair Over priced Food quality ok Service just fair Nice wine list, but it goes with the food and the service so who cares. Maybe try it once under the previously mentioned conditions, but there are too many other very nice options within 10 minutes.

Enjoyed eating at this restaurant. Sat outside under the beautiful sky with a great view of the mountain. All four of us enjoyed the food very much. Yellow fin tuna was especially good. the desserts were excellent . The prices seemed a little high but given the ambience, it was fine.

I'll give 1 star for the view (we were there in the summer and sat outside on a nice evening) and because the kids menus were on this heavier card-stock paper. We were the only customers and still the food was really slow. Mac and cheese was really a large bowl of runny cheese with macaroni, vegetable tacos were inedible, maple butter was neither here nor there and my son wouldn't eat the fish sticks (say what?!)

Great service! Delicious food, would definitely recommend this place! I am giving this place only 4 stars due to the fact that my main course-chicken was on a dry side, however we really liked our server, he was straight to the point, fun and attentive. Overall it would be the place to have dinner after the whole day of skiing.

I know they have a captive clientele but I was still hoping for a little more from a place that boasts such an extensive wine list :( Despite a fairly empty house (off season) the hostess stuck us at a tiny table in the corner of a side room - no view of outside and all alone. Food: First - Cold bread + rock hard butter = biggest pet peeve ever (I never understand why restaurants do this). Then - Beet salad was a overly generous mound of greens messily topped with a few misshapen beet chunks - for $10 a bit of goat cheese would have been nice. Next - Mussels ($12) were half opened and sitting in a bland fishy broth with huge misshapen chunks of mirepoix served with stale French bread. My husband got the chicken - prepared simply and moist (first positive) but the sides consisted of what I can only assume was my leftover beet salad greens scraped into a wilted mound in his plate and overly sweet unsalted couscous with whole dried apricots (not so positive) - $18. We will be driving down to Ludlow for the remaindered if our stay.

Attentive service and good wine menu, but very, very poor quality food for the price. We started out with the calamari which was ok, it was crispy but came with a tiny thing of sauce. We asked for more but it was never brought out. For our main course, I ordered the ravioli and my fiancé ordered the pulled pork. The ravioli was OKAY , nothing special. Lacked flavor. The pulled pork was probably one of the absolute worst things we've ever ordered at a restaurant.... Ever. So incredibly dry and bland. The hash that came with it was borderline inedible. We asked for more sauce and it did nothing to enhance the dish. What a waste of money---you are better off elsewhere.

Very enjoyable meal. Friendly and attentive staff. Enjoyed reading the entire menu, which had interesting choices. Since it is summer, some people were dining outside with the beautiful backdrop of the mountain. We chose to eat indoors since we were outside already for the entire day. I believe you could order from the full menu or a tavern menu if you ate outside. We were not given the option of the tavern menu for inside dining. Would definitely come back again.

Used to be a great place to dine if you stayed at Jackson Gore... Now it's on the decline. While the menu itself has not changed a lot (I did miss artisan cheeses that they used to offer), it's deceptive - the execution is plain awful (burnt venison, the sides you would expect to find on kids menu, bland mushroom strudel, beet salad is not balanced, etc.). To top it off, the service is painfully slo-o-ow. Avoid if you can.

Very tasty salads and good vegetarian pasta. A bit pricier & fancier than needed at a ski resort, but also has a kid's menu

Ate here twice (one lunch, one dinnner) at a recent stay at Jackson Gore. Need to raise your game, is what I have to say. Nothing bad, but nothing that jumps out at you and says "Jackson Gore is the slopeside resort that Vermont needs to compete with what's on offer out west at Beaver Creek, Deer Valley, etc."

Wonderful new chef has made quite a difference. Beautifully prepared food, excellent service.

Have been here too often out of necessity over the years. Routinely poor but then you think- give it another shot - we ski here all winter- it would be great if it were a good place. Sadly, it's still poor. Even now in the off season, they can't get it right. Long wait for drink order, longer wait for drink delivery. Salads not bad but entrees not good. After two tries to get a steak cooked properly, gave up and went to Kilarney pub for a burger. It shouldn't be this tough to get a good meal at a pricey resort. Jackson Gore feels and looks like a Holiday Inn and Coleman Brook is what Holiday Inn room service would be if they had room service. It's a shame.

My family stayed at Jackson Gore for a few days of skiing. This restaurant is convenient when a guest at the development. We ate there twice due only to the convenience and not due to the quality of the food or price. The first time we tried it, we found the service lacking and were appalled that the macaroni and cheese was from a box and for the price of $10.00. It's hard to believe that a restaurant at an up-scale ski resort would find serving this to be acceptable. The rest of the food was average and expensive. The second time we tried it, we found Eric, the server to be excellent. But, the food was average and the price was very expensive. Unless the resort changes its approach to food, you can do better elsewhere.
