Came here a couple of times while at Killington. Definitely get some peanuts by the door, the staff and the food can take a bit long to reach you. The food itself is pretty decent. Wings are good, burgers were good. The nachos are a bit sub-par - maybe avoid that. Otherwise, pretty fun, rowdy and a nice place to unwind.

I love the Lookout Tavern. The first time we came here a few years ago, it was one of the only places open at around 9pm on a weeknight. I will never forget the friendly service (even shortly before closing), above average and creative bar food, as well as their encouragement to stay for dessert even as the kitchen was closing. We visited Killington again this year, and came here the first night for some grub. I had a delicious enchilada with a "Gold" margarita. My marg was strong, and my enchilada was a big portion with plenty of filling and a delicious sauce. We came back every day after a ski echange for my boyfriend, who was demo-ing, and had their delicious buffalo wings, nachos, spring rolls, and french onion soup... and lots of strong apres ski drinks!

Fun and unusual place with peanuts as snacks, where you can throw the shells on the ground. I had a great chiptole chicken salad, which I recommend. There is a good bar but all around the menu is a bit uninspired I'm sure there are better restaurants to enjoy when at Killington.

Great mountain country food. I highly recommend the ribs! They're better than most places in NYC. The (breaded) pork chops, jerk chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and the kids menu were also solid. We liked it so much we came back 2x. Excellent service. Heads up: the gnocchi is very rich, cheesy, creamy and huge. I didn't try the salads, but the glazed salmon and sautéed zucchini was simple and solid, thought not as good as the rest. Skip the spring rolls.

Big fan of this place. Great ski town bar with a cozy atmosphere. It offers a lot of different seating options (bar, booth, table, outside deck in the summer) and I've always had really good service here. The menu has a lot of great choices from burgers and salads to burritos, ribs and seafood. Plenty of great beer options too. Nachos are really good and so are their soups if you're looking for a starter. Salads are oversized. You get a lot for the money here. Worth the stop after a day on the hill or just passing through.

Enjoyed dining here. Food was good, service was friendly, all in all a good dining experience. We got the classic wings and sausage stuffed mushrooms for appetizers, both good, LOVED the mushrooms. Also got dinner salads, good, ribs that were good but not amazing, but then again, if you want amazing ribs go to a Rib/BBQ place. My friend seemed to love them however. I got the fungus burger which I thoroughly enjoyed, meaty and not frozen with good toppings. Then the brownie a la mode for dessert. Would go back PS, if you have peanut allergies, depending in the severity, you might want to avoid this place as they do have a barrel of peanuts right by the door.

Great place! Awesome bar food, great atmosphere. But the BEST part is the bartender, Caitlin. Wow. I've never used the word 'delightful' before, but that describes her perfectly. She was sweet, attentive, funny, & one of the best bartenders I've ever encountered in over 20 years. :)

Lookout used to be our GO TO apres ski bar but after our experience this past weekend, it will be a LOOOONG time (if ever) until we're back. The main reason for this? The DOUCHE guy manager (glasses/tall/always there). I wish I looked at the CC slip to get his name. Wife and I got there around 4 and ordered some wings and a couple drinks after a terrific day on the slopes. Dark & Stormy was a pretty weak sauce pour, especially compared to the other female bartenders but no biggie, we were still having a good time. After grabbing some peanuts, we elected to get one more round of drinks, beer this time, again, from the d-bag manager. While one of the 'Sick Day IPA' pours was right to the top as it should be, the other was a solid 1.5" below the top of the glass, full of foamy head. I could see him struggling with the tap line as he poured it, dumping some head off and re-filling etc. but he apparently gave up and passed this 3/4 full beer to wife. Wife then had the following exchange with d-bag: W: "Excuse me, would you mind just topping this one off a bit, it's got a lot of head" -Note-she was very polite, never raised her voice, said please/thank you D-Bag: "Huh? That's a perfect amount of head right there" (except the other beer had ZERO head and is actually proper) W: "Umm..this one is filled to the top, but there's too much head on the other" D-bag just stared back. At this point, she'd grown tired of arguing and headed back to our seats. As she did so, d-bag actually had the gall to state: "Because I was going to say, "Are you SERIOUS??" I then snatched up the foamy, heady, terrible pour and again requested he fill it properly. He again attempted to tell me it's a "perfect" amount of head but since I wasn't going anywhere until he topped it off, he begrudgingly filled it while muttering, "Ok, wow" and other unintelligible grumblings. I told him to keep talking because just about every word was affecting his tip at this point. Never in my LIFE have I had to argue with a bartender so much or been treated like an idiot; nearly every other bartender would immediately apologize and fill it properly. But not d-bag. He had to get into it with both my wife and I. This really left a sour taste in my mouth. My only regret is leaving him a $4 tip on a $30 bill; we should have left a quarter. Only reason it didn't get 1 star is because the wings are decent and cheap. Go spend your hard earned money somewhere else.

Stopped in for dinner with a large group. We were able to call ahead and put our name on the list, cutting down our wait time. The menu wasn't especially large but had a little bit of everything. We started with the Nachos Grande, Baked Stuffed Mushrooms and Sweet Potato fries. The nacho platter was the smallest I have every seen. The honey mustard that came with the sweet potato fries appetizer was great, but they do not give it when you order sweet potato fries as a side. I had the Chipotle chicken warp and sweet potato fries which was great. A couple of people in the group ordered the ribs. They were all disappointed in the portion size but the worst was the corn bread which was apparently so bad that none of them ate it.

Good burger and sandwiches - it's a typical bar ski joint with food (good thing). Great friendly service and all the food we had was solid. Plus nice game room with pinball and classic arcade games...
(3)Dennis B.
It's all about the area.....it is a good spot to eat and catch a drink after the day on the sl
(4)Madeline Z.
Exceptionally friendly staff and great vibe for après-skiing. There's always a wait for a table, but the food is decent and the bar area is a fine consolation for passing the time.
(3)Jeffrey P.
Great bar food and friendly service. Had a basic burger and wings - both were prepared perfectly! If you like India pale ales you have to try the Limbo IPA from Longtrail Brewing Company. You will not be disappointed.

Many a night have started at the Lookout, which just so happens to be the first bar as you leave the slopes. Great service, fun scene, and a great bar.
(5)Jay C.
Best bar in Killington for Après ski. Peanut shells on the floor - good wings, great beer selection and always upbeat - super staff
(5)Tina M.
The locals totally make this place! The food and craft beers on tap don't hurt, either. I'll be back for more shenanigans next time I'm in town. Bottom line- go here, sit at the bar- you'll enjoy it.

I've been here for dinner and drinks three times during various trips to Killington and have had a solid experience each time. Their signature cocktails are really good and very reasonably priced...my favorites are the BFP and the Goombay Smash. For dinner I've tried both the turkey club and the steak and spinach salad. While neither were out of this world, they were definitely good and the portion sizes were also good. The atmosphere is very casual...there is a large bar with TVs, around 10 tables, and a game room in the back. The servers are friendly and attentive. I will continue to return here on trips to Killington.

I hit this place during the summer, but the Lookout Tavern is now officially my new stop during the snow season for post-slope eats! I came in for a beer during happy hour while spending last weekend doing some Appalachian Trail hiking. I was happy to find that they offered a half off wings special from 3 to 6 PM, so I had to try them. They were so authentically homemade and delicious. The wings were meaty and the sauce was amazing: Jamaican Jerk-esque. The fresh Long Trail Double White on tap definitely helped their cause, too. I bet this place gets really packed during ski season because although it's huge, even the Pickle Barrel down the street gets obscenely crowded. Staff was super friendly, and didn't mind at all that we moved from the upstairs deck to an indoor booth downstairs when it started to drizzle. See you this winter, Lookout Tavern!

Food was so so. Draft beer did not taste good. The taps need to be cleaned. The ambience is good and the staff is friendly, but our server didn't know them menu and couldn't offer recommendations.

I visited the place for 1 night as a traveler and I enjoyed it to the fullest. A nice variety of alchohol and food, great service, in an amazing environment for a relatively low price. The bartender wad very sociable and helped us with good points of intrest. Overall, a great experience for a low price. A must vist in Vermont.

No doubt about it if your looking for food or beer this IS the place to go. It is awesome in every respect. The service, the food, the people. It's always personal and delicious! Killington just wouldn't be killington without the look out!!
(5)Janelle V.
The food was decent. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a diet soda. The three stars comes from the overall atmosphere. There were shelled peanuts ALL over the floor (like piles) when you walked in, and the floors were dirty. On the plus side, the wait staff was incredibly friendly and prompt, and the food was good. Also, there is plenty of parking, and the place seemed to attract a sizeable crowd.

went 2nd week in april. we ordered burgers they were great. however service was horrible! i was trying to give the lady who had the bar and the restaurant (at first we were only ones in restaurant part) i felt it was owners and or manager's fault she was alone but she was soooo rude. the only time she was halfway decent was when she brought check. season was not over why so short staff?

Supper good burgers. They are always cooked perfectly. Staff is supper friendly. We come here all the time.

Saturday Happy Hour yesterday was jam packed! Decent beer prices and good wing special. It was 10 for $4.50. Since it was the happy hour wing special, there are no flavor choices, it is one flavor. Yesterday it was jerk BBQ. The wings were good. I would return here if in town again. I saw a burger at the next table over and they looked good. If we were not there just for happy hour, I would have ordered a burger because it looked that good!
(4)Heidi G.
Stopped here while at the Killington classic. Great casual place. People were friendly so no complaints. Free peanuts while you wait and interesting decor to keep your eyes busy. Best burger by far in the area. I recommend the Left Coast with Bacon and BBQ. Med rare. Oh yeah !!

Just had beers and peanuts here after skiing. Great location with a nice vibe. Packed with people in the best way. The beer was cold and delicious and the self-serve peanuts were a salty treat after a long day on the slopes. The bartenders were all beautiful and friendly. Not sure how the food is because I didn't try it. A great place!

I have been to the Lookout dozens of times during the winter season and after my last visit I realized; I need to share! The lookout has become my spot. Head up after a day on the mountain and I'm always greeted by the most friendly bar staff, they seem to know and remember most repeat patrons by name, and after a few times there, they'll hand your drink to you as you sit. They always have a great selection of local beers on tap, multiple Long Trail variations and a few other dark, apres-ski appropriate beers. Mixed drinks are always a good value! Huge liquor selection and, must I repeat, THE BEST bar tenders. All of them have been around this place for years and know exactly what they are doing. Drinks are always full and delicious. The food is what I would call gourmet or upscale bar food, nothing out of this world, but overall very good. The burgers are great; the left-coast burger, topped with guacamole and Jalapeno peppers, has to be my favorite. In addition to the standard bar fare they also have nightly specials. The specials and entrees have always been good and would satisfy your desire for a nice, quality dinner out of the house. I've also had a smoked brisket sandwich, salmon filet sandwich and the nachos, all of which were very good. The nachos have a TON of toppings and gooey melted cheese unlike some other local nacho variations. The sandwich's's are not meat on a bun either, always having an aoli or slaw with fresh vegetables that makes it more than your average watering hole grub. The atmosphere is awesome for a night-out or some post-slopes socializing. There is always a nice combination of multi-season veterans and beginners of every age bracket sharing stories and warming up after a day on the mountain. They offer peanuts in a barrel by the door, and your directed to shell on the floor. The peanut shells on the floor make everything more relaxed, a place where it's OK to become friends with the table next to you and call your server/bartender by name. The bathrooms are small, but nice and clean with stickers around from local businesses. Overall I wouldn't go to the lookout for an intimate evening with your significant other, or a food-focused evening with the family. However if your with a group of people who like to have fun, need to refuel/rehydrate after a day out on the mountain or just want to grab an informal bite to eat on the way home, the lookout is your spot.

Maybe I went to this place on an off night but it was not good. I ordered medium well burger and it was really badly burnt. other guys at my table ordered medium and 2 were very well done and the other very rare. I had french onion soup that was overpowered by a ton of dried oregano. the service was not outstanding either. Will not go again.

Came here for New Years Eve and was pleasantly surprised. For $40 a person you got a full dinner buffet, a champagne toast, but no live band. But that didn't really matter to me. I can't really comment much on the food and drinks because NYE is different than the average night. But I can say that the interior is all wooden, they have pool and Buck Hunter, the staff was nice and patient (the girls in my group must have called 10 times during the day), and the atmosphere is relaxed (more so than some of the popular night spots on the Access Road like the Pickle Barrel). I'll surely be checking this place out again for an apres ski.

Friendly staff, thorough too, when I asked if the tuna wrap had onions, at first answer was no, but my server wanted to make sure and asked the chef, and sure enough there was onion in the tuna mix... So I had a great burger instead! Cooked how I ordered it, tasty roll and plenty of good fries. I don't get to Killington often, but I'll go back to the Lookout when I do...

I have been there to drink many times after skiing. Great bar with a barrel of peanuts by the door. They encourage you to drop the shells on the floor! Almost worth going just to make a mess. Their food is good too. Nothing fancy but good. They are also open out of season. Worth a visit. Good range of beers too.

This is the second time I came to eat at the Lookout tavern. Last year when I visited the place for the first time, I did not really pay that much attention to my overall experience but this time I feel somewhat obligated to leave a review simply because I have been using yelp on more regular basis. Anyway, The place tends to get busy since they have a happy hour and sell wings at half the price which apparently attracts visitors. Plus I have to admit that the ambiance is somewhat attractive and the wooden interior makes the place look like a mountain cabin which gives it a cozy appeal. We were seated right away. Our server was pleasant and helpful, however, the food was mediocre at the most. I ordered a brisket sub and my wife got a turkey sandwich( also got an appetizer and beer for drinks). Our intention was to swap half of each sandwich and try them both. When the food arrived , I was surprised to see that the brisket was chopped and prepared in bbq sauce. Maybe it was my mistake not to ask and simply assume that the brisket would be filet of brisket rather than chopped one. Anyway, it did not taste fresh but it rather had a stale flavor of something that might have come out of a can, or it was frozen. The turkey sandwich was bland. The turkey was dry, and it lacked the texture of what a fresh turkey meat would have had. The sandwiches came with french fries which were over-salted. All in all, the food choices which we made did not make any lasting impression on us and if I had to chose the place based on the menu , I would rather go somewhere else. Another thing which annoyed me a bit was that some random girl who was not our server, came to our table twice and repeatedly asked if we were ready and whether we needed the left overs wrapped in a to go box where we were still working on the food. I understand that there were other people waiting but I dislike to be rushed on such an unprofessional manner since I am a customer as well. Anyway, I am prob not returning back to that place for now...

Had an order of the buffalo wings to start which were nice and crispy ( happy hour on the wings 3-6, just missed it but still worth the full price). I had the left coast burger it was a nice thick burger but needed more guacamole. Overall the experience was good and I would definitely return.
(4)Michael B.
Wings are spicy, but have more of a BBQ flavor than a traditional red pepper sauce like the Buffalo style we've come to love.
(4)Peter L.
The Lookout is a great bar with excellent food. Choices range from standard burgers and chicken sandwiches to full meals. The burgers are the best on the Killington Road and I have never had a bad meal in my many visits. The menu is a good blend of sandwiches, salads, a bit of decent Mexican, fish and chips, a wonderful meatloaf and so on. Deserts are mostly homemade by the owner. Large full service U-shaped bar with local microbrew drafts. Plenty of booths and tables in addition to the bar. Outdoor deck for summer seating. Friendly causal service.
