Let me start this review by saying we are not foodies. We simply like decent food for a decent price. I am not looking for a 5 star restaurant, but some place edible. My Husband and I went to Choices last night for dinner based on reading the reviews as well as asking a few locals. Boy were we wrong. Yes this place is dated but who cares if the food was at least good-NOPE strike there for sure. I don't understand how ANYONE could say the calamari app was good. NO WAY it was so thickly breaded with bread crumbs, cut in a medallion style (not good for calamari), and they piled on about 20 of them (overload). We returned the calamari and tried the nachos instead (GROSS, GROSS, GROSS). They were deep fried chips that tasted like complete old frying oil. Don't get those either. My husband got a sirloin (med-well), which was hard and cooked like charcoal. He still ate it so it could not have been that bad. I got the crab cake app as a meal with a side salad. The crab cakes were not that good -tasted like canned crab for sure. I CAN say that the ONLY reason we rated this place ONE STAR is because the dessert was VERY GOOD (warm apple crisp) and the coffee actually tasted like coffee and not warm water. Other than that I would have given this place ZERO.

By-pass the hostess...didn't see her when I walked into Choices solo...and headed straight to the bar to eat solo. The food is amazing! Like others have commented, the place is full of locals...I was the only tourista! Nice wine list...and nice priced. Trish at the bar couldn't have been nicer and more helpful! Handmade/housemade fettucine! I couldn't decide between Veal special or a pasta...so Trish suggested substituting pasta for the potato/rice offering. How nice! DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!! Run (or slide) to Choices! Chef Claude is terrific! I can't wait to try the soup tomorrow for lunch that I took home b/c it smelled so good!

Excellent food and service. One of the best high end restaurants on the access road. And Amy is an awesome waitress!

THE MOST RUDE INCONSIDERATE STAFF! We called a month prior to our trip and were told to call day of to be put-on the list. We were a party of 16 with many kids. We were told to come and they will do their best. We showed up all16 with kids at 6 pm to find out they do not have the capacity to sit 16 side by side. When I said they should have told us when I called they seemed to not care and basically had a" this is how it is attitude." no one cared that we dragged 8 kids and 8 adults for nothing. RUDE beyond words. Tourist make your business, not sure that attitude of front of the house staff will get you rep ear customers.

A good, though not great, reasonably priced, American restaurant in the Killington area. I ordered the rotisserie sampler; the three meats, chicken, stuffed pork and duck, were cooked to perfection and tastefully seasoned. My son ordered the smoked salmon fettuccine. The fettuccine is made on the premises and was well textured and substantial; the restaurant skimped on the smoked salmon, but what little there was was delicious. We also ordered a peanut butter cheesecake for dessert, which was tasty, but not out of this world.

I have been going to Choices for over 10 years. If you can get by the attitude of the hostess, the rest of the staff is top notch. Choices is by far the most consistent restaurant on the hill. Something for everyone including nachos, burgers, and one of the best Cajun chicken and vegetable fettuccine dishes anywhere. Go early and sit in the bar- it's a weekend warriors locals hang out but as the night goes on during the weekends, the "hunting" begins if you know what I mean.

Great restaurant.....the food is fresh and reasonably priced. You can tell that the veggies and everything are cooked to order. I had the rotisserie sampler and my wife had the blackened mahi mahi special. Both were excellent. We have been coming to killington for years and I think this one of the best options for dinner

I've only had brunch at Choices and so can't comment on the dinner but brunch wise this is as good as it gets in Killington. The portions are big and you get a lot for your money. The service is pretty nice too. My favorite part is the various cornbread that comes with the food. I'll definitely try this place for dinner next time, especially after I heard our hotel shuttle driver say it is his and his wife's favorite restaurant in the area.

Get the Shrimp dish. I have been thinking about it for 2 months since I had it. I was so pleasantly surprised, it was delicious, the shrimp were a good size. I couldn't find a complaint about the food or service if I tried. (Although I am an ambiance type of person...they could use some decor! :) ) I can't wait to go back to Killington and get this dish!!

We go here every year (3) we have gone to Killington! Never been dissapointed. Especially love the atmosphere and laid back service!

I don't know, nor do I care about petty problems other reviewers had with the hostess. This is an excellent restaurant with superb food. We actually went because it was the only restaurant opened until 11 on a Saturday night in the summer. It was surprising to find that it was also soooooo good. We had duck and monkfish (two different dishes), and everything (including the soup) was outstanding.

Absolutely fantastic food in an un-pretentious environment! The food was amazing. A flavor explosion in every bite! I tasted all the entrees in my party as well as the deserts. The service was friendly and polite. This was refreshing compared to the high end restaurants serving similar quality food in Boston, NYC, or DC. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Three of us attempted to go there for dinner without reservations. We were told it was a half hour wait so we gave it shot. After a half hour there had been no movement at all. The way stressed out hostess told us that most of their wait people had called out sick (not a good sign) and that she had no idea how long it might take to be seated. Her attitude was lousy about it too. We were out of there! This place is called Choices. You have choices and I'd choose to go elsewhere.

Tried this place based on positive yelp reviews. I also went onto their website and saw that the chef was classically trained. I went on a Thursday night at about 6:30pm, off peak, so there was no problem getting a table. The dining room is quaint, but could probably be updated. The server was super nice and very helpful. The menu had a little of everything: seafood, steaks, pasta and other 'american' fare. There was also several specials. Everything seemed reasonably priced. I ordered stuffed clams for appetizer ($8.5) and their rottiserrie combination ($23) The combo included chicken, lamb and apple bread stuffed pork loin. Entrees included a choice of soup or salad. The stuffed clams were okay. Way too much stuffing but they tasted fine. I was pleasantly surprised by the combo. The chicken was moist. The lamb was tasty as well, and came out med rare as I requested. The stuffed pork loin was also quite good. Moist with a flavorful crust. The stuffing was so so. The dish came with a side of mashed potatoes and fresh roasted veggies. Potatoes were okay and the veggies were cooked well. A nice meal for a reasonable price. I will definitely give it another go next season.

It was fairly busy on a Friday night, but they got us our table right away! They don't take reservations, which can be a bummer during the busier nights, but just get there on the earlier side! Everywhere will be busy during peak weekends! Our server was extremely nice and helped us make decisions on what to get! The bread rolls were fantastic, as well as the soup and salad that come with entrees. I had the pasta primavera and it was absolutely delicious. The people in my party had the prime rib, and then the mahi-mahi. If their soup du jour is the vegetarian black bean- give it a try! It is fantastic with a bit of a kick, and tons of chopped veggies in it. Delicious. And the desserts!! Wow. They bring out a full plate of all of the dessert options. All looked amazing and I wish I could have ordered them all! They were delicious. I'm in the Killington area often and this was my first trip to Choices, but I'll definitely be coming back!

This place is solid. It was 9:30 on a weeknight and they happily sat us for dinner (kitchen open till 10:00).The food was way above average. The bartender helpful. Solid portion sizes. Kinda odd decor. We ate in the bar and service was as expected for bar service. Both of us are a sucker for the dessert tray, so we indulged which added to our $92 pre tip bill.
(4)Rosemarie L.
All the locals go here so you know it must be good. And it is! Eat at the bar if you can; that's where all the fun is. The bartender, Trish, is one of Killington's local treasures, and you'll see lots of her beautiful artwork around the bar.

Probably the best meal I have had in a long time. The lamb chops for an app. were delicious topped with feta cheese and olives. The veal with tomatoes and mozzarela..mmm mmm. When you're away on a ski trip you get used to eating wings and sandwiches, so this was a very nice change for the taste buds. I'd go back in a second.

This is your go to place on Killington for a Nice meal.

Chef Claude and his staff serve up the Best food and service in all of Central Vermont, perhaps the entire State. We have enjoyed the Rotisserie lamb, pork, chicken and beef for over 15 years and have never once been disappointed. Do yourself a big favor and dine here and often!!

We were looking for a dinner place during a weekend at Killington and decided on Choices after some positive Yelp reviews. It's not a huge or wild place, in fact it was quite empty at 6:00 on a Saturday night in peak ski season. The menu was good with a nice mix of $25 entrees and then $10 burgers and sandwiches. Most importantly the host and the waitstaff were extremely pleasant and when we were just checking out the menu they didn't pressure us at all, despite the empty restaurant. The food was tasty, but nothing incredibly special. We all opted for sandwiches. The burger was basic with an oddly shaped oversized bun. The curly french fries were good, but could have been crispier. The chicken sandwiches seemed to be more successful than the burger. A few local craft beers on draft and a decent looking cocktail list.

I ordered the scallops, the taste was on point, but being a hefty male I found the portion a bit small. My girlfriend ordered a pasta dish that she was disappointed with because it had sneaky onions. I on the other hand found it flavorful. I didn't love the atmosphere, but an overall good experience.

I would rate choices a 4 star if wasn't for the numerous people saying that it's the best place to eat in town. The service was not good, and the food was okay. The server forgot a few items in our order and seemed to have too many tables. He also servered one of my table members by reaching infront of one of the other members of my party. I had the prime rib, which was done rotisory style and was displayed in the front. It looked great! It was an average prime rib in taste though and needed salt. Price was right though. I paid $56 all in for apps, prime rib, and several drinks. Also note the food looked very presentable.

Really enjoyed this place. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was busy even for a holiday weekend. I recommend going in the door and walking right to the bar, there are tables there and you can order the full menu and watch tv. Perfect. Each of us go the filet, which we all really enjoyed. The escargot were also tasty. Highlight may have been the pear salad. Get that for sure. Oh, they dont take reservations. Not sure if that is common in Killington but its true here... Recommend it.

This my favorite fine dining restaurant at Killington. Chef Claude doesn't disappoint. We had wonderful steaks and rotisserie. Lots of menu options, great ambiance. Service is very good.

Pretty darn good, good music, but one of my parties dishes, the rotisserie, came out cool to the touch. We let them know and they offered us a dessert in the house! Everything is homemade so take advantage of all they have to offer!

I'll start with the food: Out of nine dishes ordered, 2 were inedible(chicken fingers and curly potatos for kids), 5 had no tatse or flavour( for example escargo or blackened fish), 2 dishes were very good(lamb rack and cajun fettucini). But where this restaurant "shines" is the service: it's horrible. I've called to reserve a table for nine, the person on the other end told me that they don't accept reservations, which is fine. He also mentioned that they have some big parties and they will hardly have that big table in a while. So we drove there in 5-10 minutes and I asked the lady for two tables, possibly close to each other. Meanwhile the place has become almost empty, and I asked her to change us to one big table. She said that we have asked for two tables and it's absolutely not possible to change. By the way, they've been in opposite corners in the empty restaurant. Then we waited for an hour for our food (the waiter was good though). So if you need good mood don't go there, and don't order any kid's food.

I love this place. the food is consistently great. the service is professional , courteous and welcoming. hands down one of the best places in killington for dinner and cocktails. just stay away from the killing-tini. it is true to it's name !
(5)Jim E.
The food is consistently high quality and the service top notch.

Best dinner in killington. The ny strip steak blackened was one the best I've had in a long time. The potato pancake app w smoked salmon apple sauce and onion was delicious. My friends had prime rib and thought we were full till they brought the dessert tray!!... Apple crisp, mint chip cheesecake and banana cream pie? This place is awesome

Whats better than house made salad dressings, beautiful, doughy, yeasty rolls and homemade pasta? Half price glasses of wine on Sundays to help wash it all down with. We started with nachos, I had a house salad with creamy buttermilk herb dressing & had the fettuccine with shrimp, pesto & primavera veggies. BF had the chicken mushroom barley soup & Cajun chicken pasta...not nearly as spicy as advertised! YUM. We liked everything so much that we forgot to save room for the cheese plate and dessert. All the food was fantastic, and our stellar server, Amy, might be my new best friend. I can't wait to go back. Minor gripes: Prices seem high for the area (used to paying the same for similar, but down in NYC/Westchester.) Decor is a bit dated, but if that sort of thing annoys you then we can't hang. Other than that...if you're in Killington...GO to Choices.

We were up at The Beast for a few days of skiing and someone recommended we have dinner at Choices; their opinion was that it was the best restaurant in Killington. It was a Saturday night and we did not have a reservation (not sure if they take them) and the pony tailed maître'd, who was extremely friendly, said so we had to wait about 30-40 minutes to be sat, which was the case. The food was really good, probably if I was not a spoiled NYC foodie (man I hate that word) I probably would have given the food 4 starts. The escargot was great, the trout and salmon salad was wonderfully regional and refueled us perfectly from a day on the slopes. I liked the soup of the day, carrot ginger, but my wife thought it was too sweet, the filet of sole entree was done in a simple way that avoided incumbering the natural flavors of the fish. Service was perfunctory, we gathered that the waitress was having a tough day and us being the last table of the night was not exactly an honor she cherished. All said and done, I have not eaten at enough restaurants in Killington to say that Choices is best restaurant on the mountain, but I have a feeling that this might well indeed be the case. When I am back at The Beast I will return!

The food at Choices excused the quirky details that were somewhat out of place (bamboo on the tables, old-looking blue and white plates). The group of 5 decided that the food was the high point and that Choices is refreshingly one of the few restaurants (compared to the many bars and grills) on the access Road.

The worst service ever!!!!!!!! If you want your evening to be ruined go to choices restaurant. They know exactly how to do it.
(1)Miqayel H.
Didn't like most foods ordered. Only pasta and steak were "okay" but French fries, burgers, salads, vegetables and chicken fingers were horrible. But the service was the worst. Workers, waiters, managers and bar-man were not nice to us and everyone else.
(1)Nader A.
Horrendous wait for expensive food and slow service. Bartenders were inattentive and seemed irritated that there was anyone other than locals there.
