I had come here twice before for special occasions and the food was fantastic. Really great sushi rolls (I can't comment on the quality of straight up sashimi), just barely worth the over the top prices. The second time I went there however they had lost a called in reservation for a large party which was very disappointing. The service had also been consistently slow. This most recent time my salad was drenched in dressing, barely edible. The food was served in a mismatched and nonsense order. My friends dish was served incorrectly twice in a row and the waitress, while friendly, did not admit or apologize appropriately for her mistake. My sushi was not good, especially the fish. I thought it was interesting as well that when someone asked the waitress for tamari (actual soy-sauce without added starches or sweeteners), the waitress had no idea what tamari was. Something you might think crucial to working at a Japanese restaurant. All these things could be looked over or a little less aggravating at a normally priced restaurant. But when you are asked to pay $12 a drink and $14 a roll, its just ridiculous.

a bit weary when non-japanese sushi chefs are running the show... but the rolls were surprisingly good. asiana house should be described as a standard sushi restaurant. i think other descriptions steer you the wrong way; it's not eclectic nor fusion nor trendy. the large selection of vegetarian rolls brought me here. they even offer - but i did not try - mock eel maki (made with tempeh). the puti maki (asparagus, avocado, cucumber, spinach, carrot and tofu) was good but was heavier on the cuc's and carrots. the pieces were very large as well - better off ordering as a handroll. generally, all the rolls were rice heavy but all ingredients were fresh. the wine selection was nothing exciting and overpriced, so i passed.

This is almost one of my favorite restaurants, however, I am extremely turned off at the fact that mayo is used as a garnish. I always order a specialty maki, and after many failed attempts at trying to order maki with no mayo, I tried ordering something that had only a teriyaki sauce, so I didn't have to request any modifications. I even asked the waitress if the sauce had mayo. She said no, and she was right; however, mayo was beautifully drizzled all over the plate just the same. I wiped it off with some napkins and it was still good, but I probably won't go back again.

Outstanding sushi. Great flavors. Huge servings and a great prices. The service is always outstanding.

I miss this place so much! I have been trying to find a place this good around NYC (mid-town) area for lunches and it has been an impossible task. I love Asiana, during college this was my favorite place in VT. I can't wait to visit VT and stop by for some delicious sushi.
(5)Jay P.
Great place for Sushi, and very fair pricing. Seth and Nick back in the kitchen are stars!
(5)Bridgette A.
I love Asiana. The service is prompt and always friendly. I have been a regular there for years and will remain that way! The sushi always comes out in a beautiful display, and is fresh every time. They have other great things on the menu too. It's a great date place, or a great place for small groups of friends. I also love the lychee martini. The bartenders are great. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

9 years ago when I moved to Vermont this was my favorite sushi haunt. Sadly I have been watching the place go down. The tables are constantly sticky to the touch, the plates are predominantly all chipped and the portions very inconsistent. The sushi is fine, but the establishment is filthy. Forget about eating outside in the summer months, once you order they will forget you are out there. I am thinking that for the younger gen this place might be convenient and fine. For me, I am on the lookout for a "new wonderful sushi place". Its a shame, really that no one there cares enough to say, "hey you know serving your customers on chipped and broken tableware shows a lack of respect for the customers money".
(2)Ryan S.
The serving sizes are huge and the prices are quite good. Asiana offers a good selection of sushi and noodles and I haven't been disappointed by them yet.
(5)Nicole E.
Went here tonight for sushi. The menu was a bit disappointing - just your standard rolls, nothing new or exciting. I had some sashimi and one eel avacado roll. It was all tasty enough. The green tea was green green! It didn't really look terribly appetizing and didn't have much in the way of flavor. The service was friendly, but kind of absent. Overall it was a nice enough dinner, but nothing really to write home about.
(3)R V.
This place is overly priced and the food is not worth what you pay. I would recommend going to either Koto or Hana for your sushi/japanese food needs.
(2)Kristen H.
I'm always a little skeptical when I go to a new sushi place. The food here was alright. The place was really empty so the service was quick and our waitress was very nice. My biggest complaint is that the rolls were way too big. I could barely get a piece of spicy tuna roll in my mouth. We also ordered edamame, a shrimp tempura roll and a special with soft shelled crab. The edamame came out first, as expected, but then everything else came out before we had barely had any. This usually wouldn't be a big deal but we literally had no room for anything on our table. To be honest I probably would have given this place a better rating if the rolls weren't so big. It just made it unpleasant and awkward to eat. I probably won't go back here again.
(2)Sam F.
The sashimi was good but the cuts were small. The sea-weed salad is a great filler. We had a party of 12 and the server handled it surprisingly well.
(4)John A.
Probably the best sushi in Chittenden County. Don't let the lack of curb appeal fool you - this place is well worth a visit! Their sushi is fresh, unique and creative which keeps us coming back for more. Suggest reservations if dining there and call in advance for take out.
(5)Trevor L.
This is my favorite restaurant in Burlington, and perhaps the world. I use to eat there several times a week, and I always left satisfied (that's what she said). I can strongly recommend the crispy crab roll, due to the fact that it is incredible. You cannot go wrong eating here; everything on the menu is good. Asiana is good for families because of reasonable prices, and also good for a date with a girl you like. Prepare to wait on a Friday or Saturday night. Oh, and last but not least, the Volcano Roll. Get ready to be dominated...but in a good way.
(5)Nicole A.
Best vegan sushi I've ever had!! I look forward to eating here whenever I'm in Burlington....Amazing food. Don't miss out!!
(5)Alex C.
I LOVE this place. Went to UVM and i was a frequent visitor. I can really only comment on the sushi rolls since that is all i ever got so my comments is that they are epic! I love their fresh made rolls and the mango martini is awesome! This restaurant makes me wish i still lived in burlington and is a must visit when i go back up. It is an intimate place so a reservation is deffinately recommended.

My review is based on my experience with their dinner, sushi, and dim sum offerings. Both the sushi and dinner offerings are fairly authentic but the way they were made were not. However, it would really be unfair to expect pure authenticity since this is Vermont. Asiana House is still a business so they do have to "cater" to their potential customers. Having said that, the food quality is fair but as people have already mentioned, not consistent with the pricing. The service has ranged from "not attentive" to "acceptable," which is consistent with the other reviews. Regarding their dimsum, I am torn. The pork shiu mai was good. It was well-seasoned so I have no complaints. The BBQ pork bun was fair. There was a minor after taste with the dough but overall, not a bad item to order. Unfortunately, the other offerings I tried could use some improvement. The spring egg roll was bland, which proves my theory that just because something is fried, it doesn't mean that it would be good. The shrimp hargaw was also iffy. The wrapping was thick yet flimsy. It was also understeamed. I checked the shrimp and not all of them were completely orange. I ended up not eating 2 of the 4 pieces. I was excited with the pork dumpling as it was a variation of the usual. Instead of being the typical "pan-fried, oval-shaped wonton," it actually had a thick dough similar to sesame seed balls. There was also a hint of sweetness in the dough. I personally did not like this version, but it could appeal to others. If you want a quick fix of dimsum, this could fill that need but just be very selective on what you are ordering. Finally, I had to comment on the jasmine tea. Yes, I am very happy that they actually use loose leaf in French press. However, they do need to put more tea as the resulting product was weak. Overall, their overall rating is satisfactory in my opinion. There are opportunities for improvement in service, pricing, and the quality of their dimsum.

Still the best sushi joint in North America and I travel all over. No clue where the negative reviews come from. We go here every Friday night. My only critique is that Gary-Ma needs to sink some money into refurbishment as the place is in need of a face lift. But the fusion sushi is simply the best. Current favorites you have got to try: New Style Sashimi (get it with yellow tail), Salmon Tataki, Tango Maki, Sandra Maki. Tell them David and Denise sent you.
(5)Shane F.
The selection was pretty good. The house special vegetarian rolls sounded excellent but, as a vegetarian, I am not even remotely prepared to pay $11 for one roll. The chef on duty at 3 in the afternoon was not that great at the actual rolling. It was definitely a big step up from supermarket sushi and I did enjoy the experience.
(3)Adrian S.
Quality is going down slightly. Otherwise, one of my favorites.
(3)Bailey Z.
Asiana House did not produce the best sushi by any means, but it's probably the best sushi in town by default. Thanks to a $10 off of a $40 purchase coupon for students, we shared three rolls and kimchee noodle soup between the two of us. The soup was enjoyable on a cold night like tonight, despite the fact that the mushrooms were probably canned. The sushi here is decent. We ordered three house special maki rolls: the B52, the rainbow, and the Dee Dee maki. The fish quality for all three weren't that great, but that was to be expected. My favorite was the Dee Dee maki. The teriyaki sauce and black tobiko tasted pretty good with a perfectly crunchy shrimp tempura on the inside. I wasn't a fan of the cooked fish within the B52. I also realized that they probably called it that because the size of the roll was massive. There were only 4 pieces, but it had quite the girth. In fact, I noticed all of the rolls here are cut wide. It makes it pretty difficult to eat and it falls apart if it breaks in half. Despite some minor technical shortcomings, I would probably give this place another shot in about a year or so when I have another random sushi craving.
(3)Steve F.
Busy on a Tuesday evening. Local beers on tap. Service appeared chaotic - but friendly. Food (steak with hoisen sauce/mushrooms/asparagus) was decent but not outstanding.
(3)Tiffany F.
I dream about the T2 Maki. Honestly, I've tried sushi in other places and nothing else compares. If I had to choose a "last meal" this might be it. T2 and a Fuzzy Mango cocktail. Delicious.
(5)Dennis D.
Always make it a point to stop in when I am in Burlington and never disappointed. Their rolls are creative and the quality of their fish is very fresh. Not much to look at from the outside, but go in you will not be disappointed!
(5)Alice Y.
It's good but busy. Like what Steve F. mentioned, service is chaotic and slow. The quality of fish is fresh and the flavoring of the maki pretty good though I hear this is as good as it gets in Vermont. I think what would help add my stores to my rating would be better service. Waiting an hour for your food is not fun.
(3)Kristi P.
I thoroughly enjoy the sushi here. My only complaint is that it is too hard to eat. The rolls are all 3 inches wide. Cutting then in half makes a huge mess and is harder to use chopsticks to eat. Besides the abnormally large sushi rolls, this is hands down my favorite place for sushi in Burlington.

I went here twice in a span of three days-I liked it that much! At our first meal, my mom and I ordered the rattlesnake maki along with the lobster maki. Both rolls were flavorful and fresh. My husband and dad both ordered noodle soup dishes-chicken udon and kim chee noodle soup, respectively. Both soups were generous portions filled with a ton of fresh veggies and meat. On our second visit, my mom and I shared a seaweed salad appetizer, kiss the dragon maki (soft shell crab inside topped with unagi and other deliciousness!), and a gold fish maki. Again, so tasty! My dad had the tempura udon which was also plentiful and delicious. This is hands downs the best sushi restaurant I've been to in New Hampshire and Vermont. I wish it was closer to where I live...Asiana House, I'll definitely be back. Thanks for helping satisfy my craving for yummy Japanese food until I'm back in California.
(4)Brian J.
Not my favorite spot in town, but a good option for sushi. I would suggest that you head here for sushi of all the places in Burlington. I tried the T2 maki based on recommendations on Yelp. It REALLY is good. Each bite is a real mouthful, but soooo flavorful. Other dishes that I have tried here in the past were also flavorful and imaginative. Sadly, the vibe inside, and on the noisy corner patio outdoors, is not very pleasant. Nothing terrible, but not really what you would want for a first date or special occasion.
(4)Neal G.
Classic rolls and creative originals. Try the Superbowl Maki... It's ridiculous!
(4)Eric T.
The most unique sushi in VT, great roll combinations. A little pricey but great for special occasions or for something different. They stopped offering natto recently which I was sorry to find out.
(4)Chris B.
Amazing sushi! Very creative combinations, The chicken teriyaki is great too. If your looking for good sushi in VT this is the place.
(4)Bill M.
Delicious!! Their sushi is perfectly prepared. Product is fresh and plating is well done. I recommend the kimchee tuna appetizer. Also enjoyed unagi avacado roll; and spicy tuna maki. Location: corner of Pearl St. and S. Winooski Ave. Try here first.
(4)Bill B.
Actually 2 1/2 stars Nigiri sushi was very mediocre..soggy tuna, price was not. Udon was o.k. Tempura was good. If I had a choice of eating here again, I'd wait until I was somewhere that I had more confidence in a good result, sushi wise. Service was attentive.
(2)Mike P.
This is really the only place in Vermont to go for sushi in the Burlington area. The majority of their menu is on the expensive side but I find myself coming here often because the quality can't be beat by any other place here for this type of food. Coming here on a Saturday or Friday is an absolute nightmare. The place is small so it cant fit very many parties. The service here is actually on the bad side but its the food here that matters. Come here for good sushi, not a good experience.

Asiana Noodle House is one of those places where you can one day have a fantastic meal and the next have a mediocre one. It's flaw is its inconsistency. For Burlington, it's not bad at all. I'm not really rating in terms of Sushi, although I have had a few good rolls, but rather on their noodle dishes (Union Pasta is amazing) which is why I think anyone should go. Beware though, that some of the noodle dishes are cold and not specifically advertised as such. However, the one time a friend of mine ordered one unknowingly and was unsatisfied, they quickly replaced her order without charge. Another time, my boyfriend asked for lychee juice, and the server squeezed it by hand. Those occasions of fantastic service are what keep me coming back.
(4)Matt P.
Best sushi in Burlington/Vermont/Upstate! Simple location right off of church street, they have a wonderful selection of all types of sushi and asian cusine along with a nice beer and wine list. We go about once a month and have never run into a wait time or bad meal. Their "Pink Lady" maki is the best.
(5)Greycella L.
Best sushi in Vermont, hands down. Lots of fusion-esque creative rolls, excellent nigori sake. Only go when you've got a reasonable amount of money to plunk down, but the splurge is well worth it. Just writing about it makes me tempted to play hookie from work and make the two hour plus drive!
(5)Anne M.
We ordered sashimi. Very old, nasty fish; neither my partner nor I finished our meal, it was that bad. And then I was sick for a day afterward. The place wasn't crowded, but our service was very, very slow.
(1)Linda Z.
I went here for lunch with my spouse and we were very disappointed by both the food and service. The waitress was actually mean and rolled her eyes when I asked if my dish could be made spicy. She said she wasn't going to bother the cook with that because she bring me some chili to mix in after. This annoyed me because it is more effective to cook the food with chili so it is infused in the dish but I was afraid this woman would do something unkind to my meal so I didn't bother. The appetizer we ordered was overcooked and the waitress never returned to ask how things were. We had to wait a long time to get the bill because the waitress was busy talking to a coworker about another table that annoyed her (and you could hear her all the way over by where we sat).
(1)Melissa F.
This is the place to go for Sushi in Burlington. They have great drinks & their rolls are creative!
(4)Heidi C.
IMHO Asiana House is the best Burlington has for sushi. I"m not saying it's the best in the world. I'm saying it's the best in the area. Generally a pretty good variety of fish and other foods. It's true, service can be slow, but it's never that bad. A few years ago Karl Lagerfeld bought a house up in the Champlain Islands and for a while he and his entourage of very beautiful model types were dining out in Burlington all the time. There two picks were Trattoria Delia (Italian) and Asiana House. Enough said.
(4)Malinda W.
I'm giving 1 star for the food. The service wasn't great at all. We made a reservation for 2 for 7:30. When we arrived they had lost our reservation, which should have been a sign that things would go downhill. We were still able to be seated, but it was in a cramped little corner near the sushi bar. We waited about 10 mins before we were acknowledged or even given water. A couple came in directly after us that one of the waiters knew and they were given water and wine within 2-3 mins of being seated. Once we were finally acknowledged, the waitress told us we had a different waitress and she doesn't know why she's not coming to our table (so they switched I guess). We were finally able to order, but the food took a little long. Once the Korean BBQ grill came out, they forgot the rice and to serve us the miso soup that comes with it earlier on. I don't understand why the service was so bad when the restaurant wasn't fully crowded AND they had about 5 staff available. I'll just keep going to Asiana Noodle Shop because I was very disappointed.
(1)Alice P.
I went late on a Saturday night around 8:30 pm and was seated right away for a table of 2. Note: you can only make a reservation if you have a party of 5 or more. I really wanted to like this place and was hoping it would have the sushi I was looking for around here, but it really didn't live up to its hype for me. I like decor and intimate ambiance, which makes it a great date spot, but the prices are really not worth it for me. #Jasmine tea - good, but wish it had more tea leaves. I'm pretty sure you have to pay for this so why can't they put a little more on? I'd suggest getting this and waiting a little so that you can get more flavor because they use less tea leaves than I would for one cup of tea. #Crab cake - one of the better ones I've had, but expensive. #Udon noodle side dish - way too salty! Much worse than Asiana Noodle House. #T2 roll - packed with flavor but it was too much flavor for me. Sushi for me shouldn't be that strongly flavored since I want to taste the natural flavors of the fish. I did like this, but wasn't wowed. It does have some spice, which I really liked. #Volcano roll - I liked the sushi, but not the crab salad on top. It didn't taste good together since they both had strong flavors and the crab salad, which was fake would overwhelm the sushi. This sushi wasn't as flavorful as the T2 roll, but had a surprising element of sesame oil, which I enjoyed. Overall, the udon noodle soup side dish really disappointed me. I did like the crab cake and the two specialty rolls I got, but I felt like they were all very Americanized. Although I expected that, I'm still a very traditional maki person so if I do go again, I'll be trying the traditional rolls. I say the specialty rolls are good for those who like a lot of flavor and like fusion foods. Go after 8:30 pm to avoid the dinner rush and be seated right away. For me, I still prefer Asiana Noodle House and Hana for the prices and non sushi food.
(3)Nikk K.
The miso and ginger salad were very good but definitely not the best I've had. Their apps are very good, great drink menu, and sushi is very fresh and great portions. The dee dee maki special is my favorite but the undertaker roll was not that great, wouldn't recommend it.
(3)Ying L.
Sushi is excellent here, but I thought the lunch sushi combo was going to have a lot more food on it. Wrong! Nonetheless, it was still very good. I recommend getting the bento boxes for lunch, so much food for a decent price.
(3)Maha P.
I'm so sad to leave this review as Asiana House was a staple date night spot for my boyfriend & I for years. We hadn't been in at least 2 years and we went last night with a friend. What happened?! Our waitress didn't make eye contact with us ONCE. We were made to feel like we did something wrong by coming there for dinner. It was so awful because the food is delicious. No one ever asked how the food was, if we wanted more drinks, etc. The waitress slammed the dishes on top of one another, spilling soy sauce on the table and almost on our friend's dress. It was just confusing. When we looked around, we saw a lot of defeated looking customers, waiting impatiently for someone to just give them some attention. So unorganized. It used to be my favorite place in town. I'll now avoid it at all costs. :(
(1)Toddy T.
Usually pretty decent sushi and sashimi. HOWEVER service can be a tad bit slow and inconsistent . :-( It pains me tremendously to watch our dish sit and die on top of the sushi chef's glass case. I observed our waitress walk by our torched volcano maki numerous times before she got around to bringing it to our table less than 10 feet away. She never came by to check if everything was ok either. She seemed distracted and the place seemed understaffed. There was only one sushi chef on duty and the place was busy. Luckily for us weren't in a rush.
(3)Wendy P.
Food and service were good overall. However, the restaurant itself seems discrimination. Whenever, they bring Asian customers checks, they force them to pay 18% tips. The owner's explanation is some Asian customers do not pay (enough) tips. That's why they are doing in this. After a long time of negotiations, owner finally canceled the check. I'm not sure will I come and support the business like this anymore. I really hope they will not do this and keep being discriminate.
(2)KR P.
We were excited to try some new sushi in the area, but this place was a little disappointing. The service was mediocre, the sushi mediocre, the appetizer mediocre, and the facilities (though I don't often mind for a fancy place) were - you guessed it - mediocre. The sushi didn't taste all too fresh... which is always disconcerting.
(3)Cory C.
Swung by this place the other night. The staff are great and very friendly. The place is not very large so call ahead if you *think* it might be busy. It was restaurant week so it was slammed at around 9. I took a seat at the bar and had no issues. There probably is not much of a wait, but I cannot attest to that. Food wise it was fresh sushi and good drinks, I have no complaints.
(4)Wei J.
The rice is not authentic Japanese sushi rice. They use regular cooking rice. I've made better sushi at home. Don't even bother with sashimi. This place is totally ridiculous. Sushi-do (used to be known as sakura) in Williston is the closest thing to being authentic in Vermont. The chef-owner there is Japanese.
(1)Stella Z.
Horrible place! Don't even try ! The food taste fine but the inconsistent size of sashimi and sushi just killed my appetite. I went to this place twice this weekend, the first night I ordered a sashimi appetizer, I payed 11 bucks for 7 pieces of coin size sashimi. And my friend ordered Sake Don, she got nine huge pieces of salmon sashimi and rice for 16 bucks. The ridiculous waitress added 18% tips on our bill and we only had four people, and she was extremely impolite! The second visit with my another group of friends, I ordered Sake Don, and it's a lot smaller size and less pieces of Sashimi than my friend had. Prior to this weekend, the old waitress would even ask us to pay the bill before the food was served. Despite so many problem with this place, I still went so many times because of convenient location, but this is it!!! I'm done with Asiana House!

The T2 and volcano are my favorite. So delicious I never leave Burlington without eating here. I'm big on special makis and this place blows them out of the water!!! So good.

Despite some minor technical shortcomings, I would probably give this place another shot in about a year or so when I have another random sushi craving.

a bit weary when non-japanese sushi chefs are running the show... but the rolls were surprisingly good. asiana house should be described as a standard sushi restaurant. i think other descriptions steer you the wrong way; it's not eclectic nor fusion nor trendy. the large selection of vegetarian rolls brought me here. they even offer - but i did not try - mock eel maki (made with tempeh). the puti maki (asparagus, avocado, cucumber, spinach, carrot and tofu) was good but was heavier on the cuc's and carrots. the pieces were very large as well - better off ordering as a handroll. generally, all the rolls were rice heavy but all ingredients were fresh. the wine selection was nothing exciting and overpriced, so i passed.

(1)Barbara D.
Outstanding sushi. Great flavors. Huge servings and a great prices. The service is always outstanding.
(4)Patricia K.

(4)E R.
Asiana is hands down the best sushi in Burlington. The rolls are HUGE and always fresh and very creative. My favorites are the T2 Maki, Black Dragon and Volcano. Gyoza and tuna tataki are also excellent. It's a little pricey but worth it if you're looking for good sushi. My only critique is that the service is usually awful - very slow and inattentive. As long as you're ok with having a 2 hour lunch or dinner, Asiana is the place for sushi in this town. (they don't take reservations so be sure to plan ahead)
(4)Neal G.
Classic rolls and creative originals. Try the Superbowl Maki... It's ridiculous!
(4)Greycella L.
(1)Bill B.
(3)Stepahanie M.
(5)Linda Z.
(4)Stella Z.
(1)Cayla C.
The T2 and volcano are my favorite. So delicious I never leave Burlington without eating here. I'm big on special makis and this place blows them out of the water!!! So good.
(5)R V.
This place is overly priced and the food is not worth what you pay. I would recommend going to either Koto or Hana for your sushi/japanese food needs.
(2)Bridgette A.
(5)Cindy E.
(3)Jason J.
Truth be told, I'm a sushi (wait, maki or nigiri...I'll just called it sushi, ok?) newbie and I typically stick to the following: miso soup,. tempora, salmon/tuna roll with spicy sauce and avocado, edamame, and some chef's special sushi sashimi (my spell check is exploding annoying red lines, which I will now ignore)...At any rate, Asiana House (AH) is a welcomed treat for Montpelier. Before it set up shop on the corner of State and Elm the only sushi in town was a Wednesday evening traveling Wilburys shushi at Kismet and that was rather disappointing...THEN, out of the blue the Asian Gourmet opened in Barre...BARRE, I tells you! Now, Montpelier has a very good place for sushi. There is no official Asiana House Montpelier FB page; there is no separate YELP! entry for AH. Nonetheless, AH in the MontP deserves its own space. Location, Vibe: The cavernous State and Elm location has very solid acoustics for an intimate dinner for two or a large party. This location is teaming with denizens of Montpelier and the vibe is exciting inside. Food: The edamame was fresh one day and very dry the next; the miso soup was solid; the tempura was cooked to perfection (nice and crispy (is there any other way it should be?); the rolls were HUGE...My chief concern was that it took too many bites around the sushi roll to get to the center (like a tootsie roll sushi (but not as it SHOULD be)...Maybe girth is good in some circles but not, at least for me, in the sushi circle...The sushi/sashimi boat for one ($24) was plated on...wait...a boat! It was an SS Minnow of tons of food. There were succulent scallops, salmon, tuna (duh!) , California rolls (with fake crab (blahh!), and a wide champagne glass full of octopus (sticking to the SS sushi Minnow with a wasabi paste). One night AH ran out of salmon! Asiana House is no San Sai (on the Waterfront in Burlington) but it is a more than welcomed addition to the growing diversity of culinary flavors to hit Montpelier as of late...!
(3)Shohreh E.
Just had lunch there, excellent. I have sort do avoided This place, just too many great restaurants and can't go out more than a couple of times a week. We had a bento box, which included chicken teriyaki, tempura, sushi, salad and gyoza, salad and soup (I usually don't have the miso soup, it is just salty warm water, this miso tasted good). Every thing very nicely done, including a sushi boat, wonderful assortment of great sushis. Will go back for sure...
(5)A K.
Interesting fusion cooking. This takes different tastes of south-east and east asia and creates interesting flavors. This is not very authentic cuisine but never the less very innovative. The only downside was the food was greasy and salty.
(3)Tough C.
Great sushi!!!!! Glad we were recommended here. The miso soup was delish also. Their special rolls were very complicated, with too many ingredients for me [can't taste the fish, I find]. But sticking to simple rolls, we had a fabulous dinner.
(5)Tim H.
Couple buddies and me stoppped by for dinner. We had the 36 piece sushi and a few bottle of sake. Great atmosphere, some outside seating is available if weather permits. Miso soup was very good!
(4)Knowledge C.
I've been here before and the service was bad but it has been improving! We got our food in a reasonable time and the taste was great. Looks like they're definitely taking notice and changing things for the best. Give it a try, one of the best sushi options available in the Burlington area.
(5)Rez H.
(5)Buck C.
Always very good food when we have visited. One of the best Asian restaurants in the Burlington area.
(4)Adrian S.
Quality is going down slightly. Otherwise, one of my favorites.
(3)Cat S.
Delicious! Even if you've never had sushi before, now is the time to start. The waitstaff really knows what's what and can easily offer recommendations based on likes/dislikes and readiness to try new things. If the thought of sushi grosses you out, but you're still curious; Asiana will make you a sushi convert.
(4)Kristen H.
(5)Marlana Y.
I only got take out here so I can't comment on the service but majority of my rolls were Fusion Sushi rolls and I LOVED IT! It is a bit on the pricey side but I expected it to be since we are in VT. The menu is huge and there is so many options that I can imagine that if you bought a large party here, everyone will find something they can eat. But if you love fusion sushi rolls as much as I do, you will definitely want to come here !
(3)Wei J.
(1)Claudia C.
I highly recommend this sushi spot because it has a great selection of sushi, baked rolls, and hand rolls, as well as Sashimi. My favorite is the T2 Maki ($14.00) because it is full of flavor and it's a little spicey. The food is priced similar to Koto on Shelburne and Hana on Dorset but the taste is what gets me coming back. It is clean and the ambiance is romantic and intimate. It is small though and it can only sit about 60 people which can make the wait about 20 to 30 minutes even though the friendly staff says only 15 min. Since I am more into food and taste, the staff and wait time can take a back seat, one T2Maki please.
(5)Dana S.
Second time I tried Asisana House, but won't be going back, sorry to say. The food is fine, not great, not terrible, but service too slow (seems to be crowded each time i've been). But, the reason I am giving poor rating is because, yes, this is important, there was an unpleasant smell in the restaurant, something like dirty cleaning solution? Don't know, but between the crowd, slow serivce & funny smell, I'll pass! Used to go to a great place on Church St which closed down. :(
(2)Seth M.
Food is really good. Service is slower than slow. Dishes became piled up on our small table as nobody came to bus them after out appetizers. Waited twenty minutes for a refill on my water. Order out don't eat in. After speaking with the manager all I got was an "ok sorry" rather than something to keep me as a customer. Ill be looking elsewhere for sushi, apps and a drink in the future.
(2)Ro H.
Do not go here when they are busy, as the hostess will lie to your face. She said there was an hour wait for our party of four and she would call my cell phone. We waited next door. I called to check in after one hour, and I was told by a waitress that we were next on the list. We went back and found that a party of four behind us on the list was seated before us. The hostess lied to me about calling us. They told us it would be another 10 minutes, and we were going to be seated behind a table of 5. Two hours after putting our name on the list we were seated. So disappointed, and at their mercy because we could not start a waitlist at another local restaurant. Asiana House management found it appropriate to charge us for the two drinks while waiting, as well as no discount for the major inconvenience. Bummed because I've always liked their sushi, but this experience was awful enough for me to go elsewhere.
(2)Kelly M.
My last experience (as with all my visits) was wonderful. The sushi is fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. And it's reasonable! One of the only places you can have a simple sushi roll and a beer for under $10. Top five favorite restaurants in Burlington.
(5)Barbara B.
I just listed Asiana House in my Yelp profile as the last meal I would have before I die. I think that means I LOVE the place. The house rolls are all amazing and the deep fired tofu and seaweed salad are excellent. The service is not overly fast but well worth the wait. Heading there for my birthday in a couple of weeks! Yay me.
(5)N K.
Great atmosphere. Kiss the Dragon maki excellent (soft shell crab). Bim Bap very tasty. Best Asian food in Burlington
(4)Trevor L.
(5)Steve F.
(3)Mark A.

(2)Knowledge C.
I've been here before and the service was bad but it has been improving! We got our food in a reasonable time and the taste was great. Looks like they're definitely taking notice and changing things for the best. Give it a try, one of the best sushi options available in the Burlington area.
(5)Cat S.
Delicious! Even if you've never had sushi before, now is the time to start. The waitstaff really knows what's what and can easily offer recommendations based on likes/dislikes and readiness to try new things. If the thought of sushi grosses you out, but you're still curious; Asiana will make you a sushi convert.
(4)Seth M.

(4)Buck C.
Always very good food when we have visited. One of the best Asian restaurants in the Burlington area.
(4)Ro H.
(4)Stepahanie M.

(5)Heidi C.

(3)Stella Z.
(5)Cindy E.
(3)Kristen H.
(5)Marlana Y.

(4)Jason J.
