We recently came to Panasian to celebrate a fellow coworker and have to say that we had a blast at this restaurant. The wait staff here was incredibly polite and they knew how to work with a large group. It was great to be asked if we wanted to split the tab, rather than having to divvy up the check at the end of the meal. The food was also great. I had some sushi as well as tempera which were both great. The Spider Roll I order was prepared perfectly, and I tried avocado tempera for the first time and found it to be incredible. Everyone else at the table also loved their meals, and when I tried a coworkers General Tso's chicken, I found it to be decisions as well. At the end of the meal the waiter brought us our checks as well as a free order of what seemed to be mini fried doughs. The prices here were reasonable, and again the food was pretty good. The only critique is that it was a bit hard to find since it is squeezed between a few buildings in a strip mall. That being said, we will be back in the future!

This place can be a strange mix of relative competence and total clusterf**k. I used to go there for lunch but there were rumors of unethical handling of credit cards so I stopped that habit. At my job I order for a small group several times a month and there is always at least one issue that leaves me frustrated and very annoyed. If I was ordering for myself, friends and/or family I would have given up on them ages ago. Sometimes they forget the soup, sometimes they switch and entree we ordered for some sign different. Once they forgot to deliver the food we ordered.Today the phone kept cutting out while I was trying to give my payment info. There is never any apology from Heather for these things. Her husband who delivers will acknowledge mistakes. I have also seen some odd behavior at the main counter at times. Un-cashed checks and bills are sometimes sitting there for customers to see. Sometimes Heather is yelling at other staff. There often seems to be some kind of panic going on. The food is usually quite tasty, but the overall package leaves a lot to be desired. I wish Brattleboro had more options and competition. These folks probably wouldn't last long if there were a couple of really well run & consistently delicious Asian places to choose from. I generally go to Panda North or Shin La in town or head to Keene or Greenfield if I want Chinese/Asian

I love Panasian, but recently I had a pretty unsettling experience. I was placing a delivery order (a usual activity), when a friend texted me to say "That's a lot of food you just ordered!" Naturally, I was puzzled. Later, my friend explained to me that she had been at Panasian while I was placing my order, and the person taking the order had put me on speaker. I paid with a credit card, so a whole room full of people heard my credit card information and address recited over the phone speaker. My friend told the employee that it wasn't good to put callers on speaker, but she was quickly brushed off. I will not be placing delivery orders from Panasian with a credit card any longer. Really, I'm reluctant to order anything from them in general now, which is a shame.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, Panasian does have an overwhelmingly amount PINK colors including the table covers and cloth napkins. The full service dining room and sushi bar is bright and clean fully carpeted with wooden trim, picture windows and framed Chinese art on the walls. As for the food, the menu offerings include a good variety of the standard and special Chinese dishes such as Lady Tso's Shrimp, Peking Duck, and Happy Family, and Japanese dishes including sushi, tempura, teriyaki, and yaki udon. 41 Chinese luncheon specials ($5.50-$6.50) served with choice of soup and rice* and several sushi and teriyaki lunch specials ($7.95-$8.95) served with miso soup and salad are offered. I stopped at Panasian for lunch around noontime and the place was fairly busy. The happy owner greeted me and promptly took my takeout order. I ordered the L30 Shrimp Lo Mein Luncheon Special ($5.50 plus tax) which was ready in about 10 minutes. I drove about 25 minutes up to Wilmington, where I decided to take a driving break and enjoy my Chinese takeout lunch. I opened the stapled paper bag and I see a quart container (shrimp lo mein), a plastic container of hot & sour soup, sauces, a pack of crispy fried noodles, but NO RICE*, which was supposed to be included with the luncheon specials as stated on the printed menu. I phoned the restaurant for a quick explanation and the owner answers the phone and tells me that lo mein dishes does not include rice. He also told me I have to ask for rice upon request and next time and ask, I would get rice with my lunch. The menu should be more clear about which luncheon specials come with rice and which ones do not, as some Chinese restaurants I've been to already make it known on their menus. No biggie, just checking, since I found there was plenty of food. The quart of shrimp lo mein, though the noodles were overcooked, was pretty tasty which had tender shrimp and a good mix of fresh vegetables. The hot & sour soup was good with egg, tofu, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and peppers and tasted mildly spicy. I enjoyed the fried noodles (greasy) dipping into the duck sauce. Overall, the food was good, though I do not plan on coming back here anytime soon.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new Chinese food restaurant in our area. We tried Panasian based on fairly good reviews and pricing. I got the Sesame chicken and my boyfriend got the house chicken. Both dishes tasted good but what came after was not worth the cheaper prices or the seemingly good tasting food. We both became sick within an hour after finishing our plates. Needless to say we won't be ordering from this restaurant again.

Totally unexpected for a joint in a strip mall--full service with a sushi bar, when I expected steam tables or quick service takeout. The Chinese food is very good. The hot and sour soup is hot and sour (and sesame oilish, which even the mister enjoys even with his mild distaste for strong sesame flavor), the ginger chicken is fresh gingery, and the General Tso's tofu disappears almost as soon as the hamkey claps eyes on it. The mister likes to get the tempura bento, which is quite generous, though if you've never had fried avocado, don't bother to put it on your foodie bucket list. I was underwhelmed by the tuna roll, but that's characteristic of just about all sushi items I've had on the East Coast, totally spoiled by living in SoCal for nine years. The service has always been fantastic, very quick, accurate, and smart around the kids and careful of where their little hands can reach. The lunch prices are great!

Panasian is overwhelmingly pink. Seriously. Pink. Pinker than a newborn baby's bottom. Pinker than a Hello Kitty store where the store manager accidentally spilled a gallon of pink paint. Pinker than the Hot Topic preteen girl's section with all the black removed. Pink. Imagine a traditional, stereotypical Chinese tea house with lanterns and red everywhere. Red for luck and red for communism. Now make that red pink. Once you get over the suffocating pinkness, though, the place is pretty good. The people are nice and the food is as tasty as a Chinese restaurant in the back of a strip mall in rural Vermont can possibly be. I mean, they didn't screw up stir fried flat rice noodles so they are pretty competent folks in the kitchen. Except that Panda North serves the exact same menu, slightly better and classier, and is not pink. So I never went back to Panasain again.

Straight forward Chinese and Japanese food. The miso soup was exceptional though. Lo Mein was great and so were the string beans. I'm from out of town but I love coming here with my brother.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
