Good atmosphere. Burger was great. Wish the chicken tenders were beer battered instead of breaded. Fried tender and popper breading was way overdone, while the inside was perfectly cooked. French onion soup had rye bread croutons, which I thought gave it a unique flavor I did not enjoy and whatever cheese there was melted and sank before it browned and was masked by the caraway seeds from the bread. I would go back for another burger.

This place is quite unique. An old firehouse made into a restaurant.. The decor is true to form, and it's fun to look at historical fire department pictures while dining. The 12" pizza and sweet potato fries were enough for me and my boyfriend, and the waitresses were very friendly. The wood-fire oven style really made this worth the stop! My only tip is to make sure you know where the park. Their parking is located in the back, and as a tourist in the area it was a little unsettling not knowing where to go. But definitely recommend for a chill environment with wonderful food!

This is our go-to for dinner out. The atmosphere is beautiful, and there is live music on Thursdays. In the summer, there are three patio areas as well. Most of the staff are wonderful and very friendly. I've yet to order anything I didn't like. My recommendations are fried pickles, roast beef quesadilla w homemade horseradish ranch, or the roast beef sandwich. I've also heard rave reviews about the burgers. Kids meals come w a cup of Hood ice cream or an ice cream sandwich (if you get the super awesome wait-staff, they'll even put it on a plate w chocolate/caramel sauce and whipped cream!) There's an extensive gluten free section, but it's pricey. The one area of disappointment for me is their desserts. Nothing is made in house and all taste like they come frozen and full of preservatives.

The decor is ... intense. However, the food speaks for itself.

Located in an old fire house interior is really nice! Meat lovers 12in pizza was really good!

We came to eat here twice, dinner and then lunch. The food was delicious, and the servers were nice on both times of our visit. Their caesar salad with cajun chicken was delicious! Too bad I live on the other side of the country or I'll be having that for lunch today.

This place was exactly what we were looking for! My aunt and I were staying at the Hollow Inn and were sent over by the innkeeper. We were thinking of going to the corner pub because it had better reviews, but we were so glad we didn't. The place was decked out for the holidays, which made the already fantastic room perfectly cheerful. The staff was very accommodating. We had the special: lemon piccata chicken and a spinach salad. Both were FANTASTIC. Great sauce on very tender chicken, and the salad was fresh and full of great, high quality toppings. Both of the salad dressings we tried were delish - not the usual boring things. We'll definitely stop back the next time we're in Barre.

Went there for dinner on a Friday night. The food was pretty good. I got a Bacon Blue Burger and it was cooked to my specs and was pretty good. My wife had the beef stew which was a large portion and was also pretty good. My problem is where we were seated. It was a very busy night because of the parents weekend at a local college. The hostess suggested that we sit at the bar since there was open seats. Well the bar is not your normal bar. It was completely cluttered with stuff and the cash out station for all the servers was right there on top of the bar. So during the whole meal there was a line of waitresses standing in front of us waiting to cash out their checks. The bar was also sized wrong so your knees are against the side of the bar but you are not even over the bar yet. Overall the dinner was OK. Being a Firefighter it was pretty cool to see all the local Fire memorabilia. We would definitely try this place again on a not so busy night.

This place isn't anything spectacular, but what they do, they do very well. Burgers are juicy and flavorful, they have quite a few appetizers with some unique ones thrown in (try the Buffalo Bombs, if they have them... they often run out...) and their Italian stuff is good as well. The menu is big, and it is all pub food, but it is pub food done very well.

Here is the skinny on "L1G". This restaurant was created by the same lady who owns the flower shop inside the restaurant. She had no prior experience NONE! Not even as a server. The space had been leased to a failed sandwich shop three years prior. What has been done over the last few years is nothing short of incredible. It has expanded four times, won the small business of the year award in central Vermont presented by the governor, all while investing and preserving a landmark firehouse designed after a heralded Boston department. The kitchen was never set up, nor spaced for serving as many as it does but through trial and error they make it work. Yes sometime the food is a little slow, but t is never short of excellent. I have read the reviews and would say more than any of them, I have frequented most often. Through that I have learned the stories behind the service the space limitation but more so than all, it is owned by a lady that wants consistency and to always get better. Summer of 2011 for example, thousands were spent to bring back the original color and paint to the exterior. The menu is heavily laden with current past and deceased local firemen, as well as a history of fire-fighting. It is truly remarkable to see what a "novice" was able to do. One more thing. They have WAY more than pub food. Steaks, shepards pie, fish and dinner specials changing weekly. If you make it to Barre, make sure you stop in!

Went in for a "quick" lunch. Over an hour and a half later, we were done. It was just two of us, and only one other table of customers, with at least 3 servers. We only ordered nachos, salad and a sandwich. The waitstaff seems to care less that they are fully visible behind the bar, chit-chatting and one waitress actually cut herself, and made a HUGE scene and proceeded to give herself first aid right at the BAR. She was obviously bleeding and it seemed as though it was a health/safety/food issue, having a server bleeding all around the utensils and glasses..??? Anyway: we had chicken nachos, and it was obvious that the cook didn't know how to make them. I saw him put in our nachos, take them out, go to the bar and read the menu and re-make the plate of nachos, which is one reason lunch took FOREVER. So, the nachos finally come out and were super bland, the chicken wasn't "seasoned" whatsoever, just grilled chicken breast thrown on top of the chips. The server didn't even bring out salsa along with it. My cob salad was large and had the same exact chicken on it, and my husband had a turkey rachel, which he enjoyed. But overall, I will never eat there again....

My wife and I went there for a non-fancy dinner, and ordered burgers, and sweet potato fries. The burgers were ordered medium rare, and arrived very rare -that is, hardly cooked. The sweet potato fries were not cooked enough and fairly tasteless. The decor is fun, and our waitress was nice. We don't feel the need to go back again.
