Arrived at 3pm, when they were just opening up. We were surprised by that, but at least they didn't wait to open until 4pm, as other evening-only places will often do. At the time of writing this review, they were not open on Sundays. After trying & failing to find a good chili dish on a menu around town, I am very happy to report that their chili is great! It is unique but still chili, and very tasty! We also enjoyed their corn dish, which was both sweet & with a kick of spice in the same bite. Very yummy. I wasn't a fan of the BBQ pulled pork sliders, because they were on the dry side. After reading other reviews, I see that they must lose their moisture during the reheating process--that's a shame. We both tried their sweeter sauce, the Memphis recipe, which was quite tasty. My husband had the pulled pork Memphis also, and had the same complaint about it being dry. BBQ needs to be tender & juicy, not dry. Hopefully in time, they'll figure out a way to reheat it with less dryness, because it is tasty so that is our only complaint, which is a big deal for BBQ lovers to finally find tasty BBQ. The fries were ok, and we enjoyed the hush puppies. The sweet tea wasn't overly sweet. Next time, we plan to try the burnt ends, mac & cheese & baked beans. Maybe the ribs, too. Our waitress was top-notch, informative & friendly & was able to make recommendations because she said all employees had been instructed to try everything on their menu, so they could know what they were serving their customers. Gotta respect that policy, because it is very annoying to go to other restaurants where the wait staff doesn't have a clue when asked about what's on their menus. The decor is clean & since my husband is a huge fan of BBQ, let me tell you that we have had to endure visiting many dives during our long search for good BBQ around here. This is a clean down-home, comfortable type of pub-bar restaurant with a Golden Corral or Tailgate Grill type of atmosphere--it is a bit bigger than the Tailgate, but not by much. When you walk in the front door, there is a bar, with tables & wooden chairs off to your right, with a few of the tall pub tables & chairs placed around the perimeter. I am picky about ambiance, but this place is fine. The prices seemed a little high, especially for sides. I didn't notice a cover charge when we went in @ 3pm, so maybe this occurs during night club hours only? They had one of those light show things on with a small area for dancing if people are so inclined. This was fine for us @ 3pm, and I think it will be fine for many others-but we may not elect to come here during night club hours, due to preferring a quiet dinner ambiance rather than dealing with a raucous crowd. I think at it's heart, Chauncey's is a pub bar that happens to serve BBQ & hotdogs, not the other way around. If this is the owner's first foray into having a restaurant, I think they are off to a good start & deserve our patience & support while they work out any kinks. What's the alternative--having fewer restaurants on offer here in Waynesboro? All in all, we enjoyed our visit & appreciate this new restaurant in Waynesboro. We'll be back!

Served Raw, Flavorless Food! I went to this establishment with my husband. We arrived around 7pm and the place was fairly quiet. We order our food and within a short time was given our order. My pulled pork was cold to the touch and flavorless. My husband's ribs were still frozen. We mentioned this to our server and he promptly sent the food back. When we received our order again, it was not a fresh portion of BBQ or ribs, but the same reheated. To make matters worse, my husband's ribs had to ripped from the bone and portions were still raw! Thankfully, our young son was not there or else we may have eaten raw meat without knowing better! We ended up taking our food home to our dogs and will be calling to speak with a manager. The only positive was our server (30-something male) that was friendly and attentive. While we did not make a scene during out visit, he seemed to notice our displeasure and expressed that they are "between" kitchen managers. This is definitely not a place I would care to visit again and caution others to carefully check your food before eating. Raw pork is not safe to eat.

Went in on a busy night. Stood around for about 10 minutes trying to get one of the two bartenders to take my drink order. They just pretended I didn't exist. So I left. There are better night spots in Waynesboro.

**Unfortunately, after taking a group of nine folks to Chaunceys last night, I must report that just about all our smoked meats were dry, tough and overdone. Not sure what happened!

If it's nice out, pick the patio! This place has great space both indoor and outdoor (although inside is a bit dark). They have a nice big bar, corn hole boards outside, and an indoor stage for live music. The tables were well spaced apart so you didn't feel like you had guests for dinner! My husband and I were looking for a BBQ place in the area and happened upon this place for lunch. We both ordered the BBQ pork platter with 2 sides and Carolina BBQ sauce. The waitress was nice enough to give us a bun too (even though it technically wasn't included). BBQ was fresh and a-mazing! Sauce was spicy but very good--not like any I've had elsewhere. Plenty of food for the money! Fries were also fresh and good with some sort of orange seasonings on it (not spicy though). Also got the corn which was good too-full cob done on the grill. Mac n cheese was good --was more of a baked type rather than smothered with velveeta cheese. We aren't even locals but I think it's definitely worth a trip back here. Visually may not be anything fancy but the food is faaaaaabulous!!! If you have a hankering for BBQ or smoked anything then you need to stop by!!

Fantastic food and greater company! Definitely try the smoked wings and the pulled pork. Only advice I would give, is to be get a better bun.
