We stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night (booked through priceline) and didn't have a rental car so we ate at Ashley's. Happy I didn't have time to read the other two reviews or I probably would have opted to order pizza. The server was incredibly nice and super attentive (we were only one of three tables in the whole place since we got there at 510pm). We ordered the spring roll appetizer and whilst not GREAT, it was decent and since I didn't like the sweet sauce served with them, she quickly brought us some soy sauce. I had the fish and chips and again, while not the best I've ever had, they were pretty darn good for the $$. The server let us know that they just hired a new chef and that his crab cakes were amazing. My mom LOVES crab cakes so she gave them a try. They did NOT disappoint! Our server let us know ahead of time that these would not be like most other crab cakes in that there was very little "filler" and she was 100% correct. It was almost COMPLETELY lump crab and hardly anything else and talk about DELICIOUS!!! YUM! Very impressed! For "dessert" I had a Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini. Perfect way to end the meal. With all the other great places to eat in Virginia Beach, I wouldn't come back just for the restaurant but I really have no complaints since we were staying here anyway.

Located inside the Holiday Inn, this "upscale restaurant" has the worst service I have ever received. I went there on 03/10/12 and upon arrival, my husband and I were seated; 10 minutes later the hostess came to ask if anyone had helped us yet. Our waitress (although very nice) should not be a waitress at all. Our appetizer arrived exactly 17 minutes after we ordered and our main course shortly after. I ordered the Oceanside dish, which consisted of seafood only. As I was eating, I noticed a couple of sausage pieces in my pasta. When I pointed them out to my waitress, she literally stuck her blue nail into my plate and took it out. She then smelled it and said "yes it is sausage, the cook must not have cleaned the pot after he prepared a dish that contained sausage." I could not believe what had just happened. The manager was passing by and saw I was not eating. She asked and after I explained, she said "Don't eat that, we will pack a new dish for you to go." This is the worst most disgusting place I have ever eaten. I will not go back there even if the dinner was free and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

This Holiday Inn restaurant used to have a full breakfast buffet all week. Now, they only have it on the weekends. The regular menu is pretty standard hotel fare. You have all the basics: eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. nothing spectacular but nothing too bad either. It looks like it might have a livelier dinner scene.

After reading prior reviews about the service I waited until we ate here a couple of times before adding our review. Maybe we got lucky, twice, but we found the food to be pretty decent and the service excellent. It's not gourmet dinners but better than many places we have been to. We found very little to dislike and will return.

So glad we didn't pay full price! We had a restaurants.com certificate which brought us here. We where apprehensive about coming to a restaurant at a holiday in but what the heck. Nope never again! The food was subpar, 10$ for chicken penne w super watery sauce. Also took an HOUR to get our, for no reason. Wasn't busy, and we didn't take forever to eat either. Also, we bought a ice tea to go, the attached picture will show the size of this to go cup -_- Also, there was a serious smell of standing water/sewage as we walked in. Nope never again.

let's face it, it is a restaurant attached to a Holiday Inn. my expectations were already moderate, but it is a bit pricey for what tastes like frozen food heated and sauced. Service is chatty and slow paced but not annoyingly ignored. If I was not trapped by driving a company vehicle and therefore choosing between going off site or skipping a beer with dinner, I felt a bit trapped. they knew it, and so be it. better than starving, not poison, but worth venturing even 1 mile out for better if you can. Denny's quality. does not matter if it is breakfast , lunch or dinner; uninspired.
