Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

The food is not so great. I ordered chicken wings and they barely had any sauce on them. Plus they were cold, as though leftover from someone else's plate. Yet, the drinks are good. So if you are hitting the bar enjoy!!!

HORRIBLE!!!! Visited this location a few months back. Server dropped food in my lap and never apologized and I had to ask for a towel...Manager walked by and seemed to not even notice the food all over me and the floor. We tried it again tonight...server's shirt was filthy...two of our glasses were dirty with fruit pulp stuck to the inside of the glass, our server was standing in bar area eating spaghetti noodles with her fingers out of of a personal bowl from home I assume. And there were fast good cups from another restaurant on the table. We ended up walking out again. This Applebee's is managed poorly and we will NEVER go back. Two very negative experiences. No wonder the place always looks empty. I don't even want to give one star!

As soon as we entered there was no hostess waiting to seat us. We walked in and found our own seats. My kids told me the place didn't smell to good and I should've listened. It smelled as if the place was cleaned with a dirty mop. A server came to our table and gave us menu's. We had to ask him to bring the kids menus. After placing our order the waiter returned 15 minutes later to take the order again. He said the manager threw the note pad out. We waited 55 min to get the food and the appetizer we ordered. Considering the place was empty we didn't understand why. Then we were waiting to see if they caught on to us not having utensils. The waiter did apologize to us many times and the manager also came to apologized. He's such a great manager that he put the blame on the server. It was obviously his fault the place is horrible, because he needs more workers and suppose to make sure the place is running the way it should be. We also over heard the costumers behind us who were upset because they burned her food. No one should ever have to pay money for this type of service, especially on your birthday. When the server came with the bill he said "just wanted to let you know we didn't charge you for the kids meal" like the manager was compensating us but the kids meals were free on Tuesdays anyway! It's not even worth a star.

I'm here visiting my mom and we decided to come to Applebee's for lunch before my flight back home. They are extremely slow and almost made me late for my flight even tho I told them I'm in a hurry and have a flight to catch they still felt the need to go slower than a turtle with a broken leg.

This was the worse experience of my life. The hostess wasn't there to greet us. The food took forever to arrive and when I complained to the manager, she didn't offer much help. Do not dine here...at all
(1)Alicia E.
Unfortunately, our one (and likely only) experience here was not good. My husband, a friend, and I had dinner here one night and there were hardly any people there (I think it was around 7pm). My husband and my food arrived in a timely manner but my friend's steak did not arrive until about 15 min after our food did. When his steak did arrive, it was raw. So raw it was barely even warm in the middle and still red throughout! (He had asked for it medium.) The waitress did comp his meal without us having to ask which was nice. Very likely, we will not be eating here again.

Just checked my bank status and notice the waiter changed his tips amount. I'm pissed as hell that this MF would steal from me. Went to Applebee's and the manager gave me the amount of money that he stole and offered me a free appetizer. Why, the hell would I want to eat somewhere where the servers are going to steal from me. I felt like management did not feel it was a big deal. Time to e-mail corporate.

I'm giving Applebee's off first colonial one star for the sole fact that it smelt quite pleasant walking up to the establishment. On a serious note, we walked in and were not greeted by a single person so we sat at the bar maybe since it was late there was no hostess... Yeah cool but no we sat at the bar area neither the wanna be Thor bartender and the chick with a pixie cut greeted us. I guess they were a bit overwhelmed with the 2 customers that were sitting in the bar area, but we continued to sit there patiently. The more we sat there the more we focused on the filth of the establishment. Crumbs all over the floor and the table top and chairs were covered in some sticky residue. Needless to say after sitting there for about 7 minutes we walked out.. Boy Applebee's have really gone down hill.

Reasons I do not eat at corporate restaurants often....food sucks, service usually sucks but only because the staff are treated so crappy ( and I know this because I used to be one too) and management is a joke! But my mom had some gift cards to use whole she was in town as they have closed all the Applebee's in her area #iwonderwhy??? We had the friendliest waiter. He was an absolute pleasure even with the mistakes on our order. I wish I had his name cause I would at it to this review. But I really did enjoy him. We decided on two salads to share cause we both wanted tot try them. We asked for dressing on the side and two extra plates. Salads were small like really small. But their side salad is gigantic. Go figure. First salad was a spinach and shrimp with bacon vinaigrette. It was good. Second salad had dressing on it, like ALOT of dressing! It was soaked in dressing and the chicken was very very over cooked. So we asked for a new one and he said no problem. He told us his manager would come over and talk to is about the issue which she never did, she was too busy hanging out with the bar patrons to care about our service. Our server was nice and friendly and got right on it. The replacement salad was good also. Towards the end of our visit a second female server with crazy red hair decided to ask us if our server came over and proceeded to bad mouth him. We took offense to this seeing as he was the better part of our lunch experience. It was totally un called for. She should never throw a co worker under the bus like that. Chances are I won't go back but really only cause I dislike chain restaurants.

Just moved to Va Beach and had dinner At Applebee's. I was very please with the service and food. The hostess greeted us as soon as we walked in and she was smiling and pleasant. We were seated immediately. Our waitress came right over and took our order. We didn't have to wait for anything. The food was good and came out extremely hot and delicious. I ha a good time and will go back. Great staff and everything was done in a timely manner.
(5)Rayanne S.
I go here several times a month for the half price appetizers and an occasional drink; but last time I came in on a late Sunday night I was left standing at the entrance waiting to be sat. The employees were too busy talking amongst theirselves to even notice me so I walked out. Haa
(3)Daniel C.
I ate here yesterday night for dinner and I had a margarita and a Cowboy Burger. The burger was excellent and is definitely better than the Chili's counterpart (Shiner Bock Burger). However, one star less for the terrible margarita. It was absolutely terrible. It was just like flavored water. Avoid this.
(4)Mitchell H.
Good fast service at the Bar. I was looking for a quick bite that is not fast food. Very good!
(4)K D.
Awful! The food was dry and tasted old. The restaurant looks old. It was the first time I was dissatisfied at an applebees.
(1)Ashley M.
The food was great and the service was too.
(4)Fuel M.
Went late night, thought the waitress talks way too much and is a bit weird. Service was so so. Food was ok, just took a way long time to get. Seems they were in no hurry....
(3)Lauren N.
Very disappointed with this location. We usually go to lynnhaven or general booth, but for some reason we went to this one. I don't know if it was just the staff on duty at the time or an overall disappointing location. But,we stopped for drinks & apps. WORST LONG ISLAND i've ever had. literally tasted like the bartender forgot the alcohol. We told our waiter at first sip & he said "oh well, ill go tell the bartender she sucks" didn't offer to take it back, nothing. I wanted to take it to the bartender myself and tell her, remake this & watch her carefully. It's ridiculous how they skimp when the drinks are overpriced to begin with. However, our pretzels were good.
