Its a nice spot to pick up lunch or an evening snack. I like the cleanliness of the place and how there is place out front to sit and eat. They have a lot of healthy and hearty salads to choose from that are very filling plus they custom make it for you. Their portions are pretty generous too. I like their Santa Fe and Asian Chicken salad. To me, I will pay the price as long as the food is fresh. They also have sandwiches, smoothies and I appreciate coffee drinks at a joint like this. They also have parking in the back.

I found myself craving healthy food and had three visits there last week! It makes it easy for me to stop and take a time out from a busy life to eat right. Sweetleaf is great to decompress, change up my previous choice with a myriad of combinations off their menu board. I do have to suggest a bit overtly to put a little more of an ingredient like my experience with the Subway sandwich folks... LOL

If you're looking for a bite to eat that you can feel good about, and wont weigh you down, I recommend giving this place a try. The sandwiches are tasty, and the salads generously portioned. For first-timers, there is a lot to consider, but the staff is friendly and helpful Pros: Fresh ingredients, tasty food, healthy options. Cons: Limited dining space, limited parking space. If I could give them one piece of advice, it would be to add more options for LEAN protein on their sandwiches. Otherwise, solid variety.

Very clean, tasty, fresh. Friendly staff and well prepared food. Pricey but what do you expect in the heart of Vienna? *my friend got the frozen yogurt waffle cone sandwich thing...OMG looked so good! I got a cookie which was delicious. Good food, I recommend it!

I get it, this place is known for fresh, high quality ingredients, and an option to special order salads and sandwiches, or just buy one of their standard items. So why is it that the salads are so darn tasteless? I had the Sante Fe salad with a chicken add-on, and it was so bland, boring, and unfestive. Shouldn't the salsa give it some flavor? I've tried other salads too, and nothing to-date has me wanting to go back for more. I love Cosi salads, McDonald's, Corner Bakery...so many other places make decent salads. my recommendation is only go here if you don't mind pouring on salt and pepper to make it tolerable, or if you like your food very very bland.

This is a great place to eat something better than a deli. Ive compared to alot of places around Vienna and this is quality. Its fresh and they are consistent with their food. I also read some of the articles in the hallway near the rest rooms and even saw their mission statement. I believe in it and honestly like the decor. I like it i really hope they maintain their consistency in quality. every sandwich or salad ive tried has always been delicious. Im a big fan and can always have this for lunch or dinner,

So for the most part I always thought this place was just for desserts. But it turns out they have a lot of stuff. Sandwiches, soup, ice cream, baked goods, salads, etc. I ordered the Santa Fe salad and it was very good. Overall ingredients tasted fresh and I could see it being prepared and it is a pretty good portion. I think as always you get more for your money if you get the salad and not the option to wrap it or put it between bread. I also got pesto dressing on my salad which was awesome because it was free and normally I would think anything with pesto would cost extra. As far as salads go, its worth it for the convenience for something healthy despite the high cost of protein and other add-ons. Will definitely probably visit here again and maybe try a few other things.

Sweet Leaf is known as a community cafe that has several locations in the VA area (Ballston, Courthouse, McLean, and Vienna); they use local ingredients on their menu, which offers items such as sandwiches, salads, breakfast items, sweets, smoothies/shakes, and a kid's menu. I tried their Asian Chicken salad (to-go), which came with mixed leaves, chopped Romaine, grilled chicken, Mandarin orange slices, bean sprouts, crispy wontons, almond slices, sesame seeds, and a plum dressing. All these items are thrown in a big stainless bowl and tossed, and whether you're getting it to go or staying to dine-in, is then served. The salad itself was just okay; I was a little surprised that it was served warm, rather than cold. The plum dressing was a little less savory and less flavorful than I thought, and I think it would have been better if a peanut-based type of dressing was used instead. I liked that the ingredients are not pre-made, so you can actually opt out or add in ingredients, customizing your salad the way you like. I came in here initially to try out their shakes, but was a little disappointed that it was just Haagen-Dazs and that they were all out of some of the flavors. The staff here are super friendly and so kind & so nice, and the little cafe itself is very cute - it looks like a little rustic garden seating, with the wooden decor, gardening/kitchen tools, and the little potted plants on tables. There's also free parking around the building. +sweet and friendly staff! :D

This place has a cozy and homey feel to it. It has less than a dozen tables but the high ceiling and winding staircase make it feel spacious. Just fyi though, the stairs lead to an office, not an additional seating area. I didn't have trouble finding seating but I did come in the middle of the afternoon, so I can I see how there might be a shortage of seating if you come at peak hours. Nevertheless, this is a nice place to sit down with a friend. The frozen yogurt was a bit on the pricey side at just under 5 bucks. There's no choice of size or flavor since there's just one kind and one size, but they do give you a very plentiful amount and you get 3 toppings with it. There are muffins shaped like tiny loaves of bread. I tried the red velvet one ($1.25), which was tasty and not overly sweet. There was another one that caught my attention. Unfortunately, the employee had no idea what kind that other one was. Carrot cake? Gingerbread? He had no clue. Would've been nice if he was a bit more well informed. I'm still likely to come back sometime, with the hope that the employees will know more about the muffin types. Bonus: There's free wifi.

**3.5 Stars** Came here on a sunny day & decided to eat outside for lunch! I ordered the Asian Chicken salad and Tigrato latte (mocha + caramel). You can watch them as they make your salad, which is good if you want to make slight adjustments (I always get my salad with the dressing on the side). The salad was simple yet tasty and filling, it was good but nothing amazing. The Tigrato was OK. Overall an above average experience. Would definitely come back and try something different!

I really loved this place - it is small, but the menu is varied enough to please most people (not carnivores). I had the caperese sandwich with the farm house bread, and my so had the Santa Fe salad. Both were excellent and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. They also had ice cream and both smoothies and milk shakes - but I will try them on another visit .

I come here about once a week for breakfast and it is always a nice experience. You gotta love their sandwiches! I like the fact that they have a good selection of vegetarian and healthy sandwiches and that you can assemble your own sandwich or salad. Everything looks fresh and tasty. If your looking for a relatively quite place to have a hearty breakfast that's exactly the place!

Two and a half stars. This is for their off-hours service only: we went at 4:15 when they were closing at 5. Warning to people with allergies! Things get a little mixed up here, so be careful! We decided on a couple of smoothies and we each chose different types of fruit, but my wife got more than she bargained for: bacon! She chewed one and chalked it up to coincidence, but after the second, she decided to stop drinking it altogether. The smoothies were tasty, but makes you worry a little about their cross-contamination issues if there is a person with allergies. Also during that time, they got another four or five customers looking to get some salads or sandwiches and things went crazy. They needed another person to finish our smoothies and the cashier was too busy to acknowledge us after we paid and immediately turned to another customer.

Healthy stuff. Salads are enormous. Had Asian inspired with edame, mango, quinoa and spicy peanut sauce. Nice that they ask if you want it on the side. Small place but friendly and cozy. Shaded outdoor seating but today was not good for all fresco dining. Normally I don't like tofu but it was on the salad and tasted great with the peanut dressing

Yummy salads, great smoothie, fun and fresh ingredients. I love this place. I wish the sandwich selection was a bit nigger but its really good. Comes at a cost as prices are not cheap!

Ambiance is good. They have a huge patio space. Salads are in huge portion and are really amazing !

The concept of Sweetleaf is just perfect for me. Build your own fancy salad with toppings and deliciousness, and add some amazingly unique dressings and a piece of bread, and there you go- a yummy, wholesome lunch. I picked up the salad the night before since I knew lunch options near the hospitals are pretty shabby, and this place is close to the hotel I was staying at. There were so many yummy looking dressings, and they let me try them before I picked one. I asked for the carrot ginger dressing on the side and ate the giant salad for lunch the next day. AMAZINGGGG. Would I come back? yes!! I can't wait for them to open one here in the Bay!

Disappointed. Waited least 15 minute for smoothie. I understand it is suppose to be healthy food but smoothies went tasty. Won't be getting these heathy drinks here again.

This place is great in terms of the food, however, the staff and service is rude and awful. Terrible management, and an incompetent staff that can't tell a salad from a sandwich makes it hard to want to go back consistently.

So glad I tried out this place, I thought it would be more expensive than neighboring restaurants, thanks to Groupon :-) I gave it a try. Good quality sandwiches and good portion for the price, it turned out I get more for my money considering the quality and quantity. I also tried the breakfast sandwiches, very filling and good value. So happy they also open at 7am. Smart move. My new favorite place in Vienna.

Great menu of fresh, healthy food. Even both my picky kids loved it and wanted to keep going back. I'll be a regular visitor. Try the Fresh Stack sandwich. Great coffee too!

OK, I have to admit, we are now addicted to Sweet Leaf. I have gone there three times in the last 10 days and everything we have gotten is super yummy. Did take-out all 3 times. My husband has gotten the Scottish on a wrap all three times ... it is THAT good ... very good quality smoked salmon. I know 'cause I tasted a little of it :) The first time I got the California Cobb Salad with grilled chicken and balsamic vinaigrette ... the salad was great and luckily I had them put the dressing on the side ... it was just too strong for me, but I put ranch dressing on at home and it was perfect. The 2nd time I got the San Remo with chicken on baguette ... really a terrific combination of everything. The pesto just made it POP. Today, I tried the chipotle chili dressing ... I know you will not believe this but I wasn't sure if I like chipotle ... I am not a fan of overly spicy foods, but the Chili Baja on a wrap was out of this world. I had them add guacamole, cause I LOVE guacamole but it really didn't need it. It included 2 or 3 strips of delicious bacon and it just popped. When I was there last Sunday, the 3 guys in front of me had breakfast sandwiches and they all looked good too ... think I will have one after my doctor's appointment on Tuesday morning :) My only regret is that they don't have a shop in Oakton, so I have to drive through Vienna to get there, but it is SOOO worth the drive.

NEVER AGAIN!!! As a lifetime resident of this area, I am always happy to support the local businesses. Having eaten here countless times since their opening, I have seen firsthand the decline in quantity and quality of food, the rise in cost, and the bottoming out of customer service (it truly can't go any lower, or so I thought). Today was a new low...having gotten my order wrong (how bad can you screw up an egg, avocado, and cheese breakfast sandwich?!), allowing it to fall behind the 6 people who ordered after us, and being completely non-apologetic to the situation, the assistant manager then came to the table 20 minutes after the fact and offered an apology along with the a sandwich for the next visit. Too bad someone wasn't able to do that sooner, though one look behind the counter would explain why. Don't plan on coming in unless you're completely fluent in Spanish, as none of the employees except one speaks English. ICE and DHS would have a field day in this place! As the beginning of the review states, I will never again be returning to this location, and choose to spend my hard-earned money at other MUCH more deserving businesses in the local Vienna area!

IF you feel like eating healthy and is too lazy to whip up a salad, then this is the place for you. Fresh and made from scratch as you order. Huge portion sized served in a bowl made of aluminum ( i think). Then again if you think paying $8 is not worth your while then better DIY at home. NICE ambiance, nice wooden tables to enjoy your purchase. Coffee, sandwiches, yogurt, cookies soup and bread also available. FREE wifi to check in to yelp while you enjoy your healthy eats. WOuld def recommend.

Since I live in the area, this is my go-to place whenever I feel like a salad (specifically, Asian chicken salad). Salad in general seem to be trendy right now, and while I feel that the quality of salads across most of these places are about the same, Sweetleaf is cheaper, so it's a winner in my book. I think I've had a sandwich or two (probably the egg salad, but it's been a while and I don't remember exactly) here before and they were fine. I've come here with a friend and he was also impressed with his salad and sandwich choices. I've been here with my youngest daughter (when she was 4-6) and she was easily able to find food she could eat (although I'll say I the "kids' menu" feels a little limited, if you like having a separate kids' menu). I've never tried their shakes or ice cream, although during the warmer months, it seems like people come here specifically for that, so there must be something to it. The staff is friendly. I've come here once during the lunch time rush, when it was rather busy and finding a seat was a little difficult, but my experience during non-lunch time hours is that the place is much emptier, sometimes even rather dead (once, I wasn't even sure they were open, it was so empty - it could have been because it was an early dinner the day after Christmas and things seemed slow in general all over). I like the irregularly shaped hewn wood tables. During nice weather, I enjoy bringing my dog and eating outside.

After a long weekend of eating some not so healthy menu, decided to give this place a shot. I had a groupon which definitely helped my decision to go there. Food - good (Asian chicken salad). Dressing was good, but they wanted to charge .50 per topping not included on the menu, but it was pretty tasty. bad - Tuna salad wrap (nicoise I think). Just didn't have the right flavors. Was just awkward tasting. Staff was pretty friendly and they were very good about the groupon. I'd probably go and have the asian chicken salad again.

This place is great! The food is all fresh and delicious. Salads are big and tasty. Sandwiches come in creative combos with a variety of bread choices Breakfast sandwiches are the best around as are the smoothies. Employess are first rate at customer service. BUT .....I recently learned that the money left in the tip jar on the counter marked "Hopes and Dreams" actually goes to the OWNER not the employees! How greedy is that! I've dumped plenty of bills in that jar. I feel ripped off. So go to Sweet Leaf and eat the delicious food but DONT LEAVE MONEY IN THE TIP JAR FOR GREEDY OWNERS!

I LOVE this place and really wish one was closer to me!!! The parking is a bit bad, but it's that entire area. The staff has always been very nice and there was even a mix up on a order which the woman fixed without any hesitation. I feel like a pig here because I usually order for lunch and dinner since I don't get to come here often and it's just so good. I've only tried two things and will ONLY get them. The caprese sandwich...This is well worth the trip! It tastes so fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette is delicious. You MUST get it on the baguette; I'm use to the rock baguette at panera, but here it's so light and flaky...it's heaven. It's also surprisingly filling! I usually get the caprese salad and save it for dinner which is exactly the same thing, but a huge helping of spinach. The San Remo sandwich is also very good! After every bite I'm have to lick avocado off of my fingers. The sandwich is just missing some kind of flavor as it has a bit of a bland flavor to it, I can't put my finger on it. Sometimes I ask them to put balsamic vinaigrette which helps a little.

Stopped and had lunch here last week with a co-worker - it was wonderful! We each had a salad which was fresh, delicious and huge. Staff was pleasant and helpful-price was right, we sat outside- it was all great. I will be back!

The "Ladybird" egg salad sandwich is pretty good but always incredibly messy to try to eat! The build your own salad option is okay, but really, at 7.00 per salad? I could build my own for much cheaper on my own. I agree with the other commenter who wrote that there seems to be a language barrier problem, I've had to repeat myself on more than one occasion to some of the workers. They don't seem to understand when I tell them I just want a tiny bit of mayo. They will squirt a TON on anyway! Things go incredibly slowly when they are busy, snails going across the room would be faster! The milkshakes are yummy but they are pretty pricey too. The cheese quesadillas never seem to stay very hot for long. The seating is odd in that it's communal style, you will always be stuck next to a stranger during their peak hours. I prefer separate tables myself.

Love this place. Fresh delicious food, served quickly. All it needs are more comfy chairs and more space. Free wifi, but it never connected for me.

As a brunch lover I frequent this place a lot. They have a nice selection of healthy breakfast sandwiches and salad bowls. The customer service is awful, however. The cashier doesn't even make eye contact with you and the people behind the counter stand around staring at you. Also the coffee is subpar but now they charge you for it.

I live in LA but whenever I visit my family in Virginia it's a must that we visit Sweetleaf for the fresh stack sandwich on multi grain. The produce shouts, fresh to me. I don't eat red meat and this place has so many options for me that's why I love it.

Great food! So fresh and different. Basically the upgraded subway x100. A little pricey but the environment was great. I will definitely be back!

I do not really like salads a lot but this is the place that made me start to like salad. I have tried all but like the asian salad is the one I really like. The atmosphere is casual and has a lot of rustic country style themes.

Sweet Leaf is great! I love the Sweet N Crunchy, it's a good size and so refreshing & sweet :) Love the selection on their menu, & the freshness of it all. Love, love it!

  • Sadaf A.

Oh man, I love this place. It may be slightly pricey but for the quality of food it is excellent. Their sandwiches are always packed and their salads are huge. For healthy foodies in the area, this place is a must. They have a great array of ingredients so you can really make it your own. The KooKooRoo is my favorite sandwich there. The pastries here are on another level. Their chocolate milkshake is maybe the best milkshake I've ever had, and their pastries are excellent and always fresh. Only thing I've been unhappy with was an overpriced iced coffee that was pretty meh but that wasn't too big of a deal. If I'm in Vienna or McLean I always try to stop by.

  • Steve H.

Great salad place with a lot of vegetarian protein options, such as grilled tofu. I'm usually pretty sensitive to vegetables that haven't been sufficiently cleaned, and stay away from most salad bars, but I've never had a problem here. The dill dressing is worth the trip alone, and I've yet to find anything similar at the grocery store. The service staff is always pleasant and efficient. It's not a big space and gets crowded quickly. It's also on the expensive side for a salad.

    (4)
  • H H.

This place is just MEH to me. I LOVE the fruit yogurt smoothies and will travel for them, but the food is tasteless and overpriced. The service is what has caused the low stars. Almost everytime I go, someone screws up an order. The people are not to friendly. My smoothie delicious scale is always based on who makes it. If I wanted a salad I would sooner walk across the street to Whole Foods, pick up some greens and make it myself.

  • Pita W.

Man, I love this place! I frequented the one in McLean when I used to work there. I like how you can call ahead and skip the line. You can't beat the cleanliness of the store and the overall fresh appearance of the food. I have never gotten anything off the menu that I didn't enjoy. Please open one in Ashburn!

Awesome!!!!! The salads are huge and hearty. So much avocado. Like half of one. Jeezus almighty this place rules =)

  • Heather H.

This is my new favorite salad place. I used to go to Potbelly for salads but this place is way better. Everything is really fresh and you can see them make your salad so you can see what's going in. The portions are large and they also give you a piece of bread and you can request pickles free of charge too! For the price you get a lot of food, way more than Potbelly or Panera. The staff is also really friendly and it's very clean. So far, I've tried the Cobb and Asian Chicken and both were delicious. I want to try them all! The only downside is there isn't much parking.

  • Julia R.

If you're looking for a healthy cafe in McLean area I strongly suggest Sweetleaf. They have everything in between from sandwiches to smoothies. I suggest looking up the menu before you go because the grub is so detailed and toppings are not your typical Subway toppings. I love places that induce healthy eating to people and young kids. Also the rustic theme gives a nice vibe and cozy settings. If you wanted to go on a causal romantic date or just work on your lap top; you can do both! Strongly suggest trying this place at least once if you're passing by McLean.

The food is excellent, but had two bad experiences today. The first was that I ordered a bottle of water from the refrigerator but my friend asked for a cup to fill with water herself. The cashier "tisked" three times and shook his head at her, like she was being cheap by not getting a whole bottle. I didn't realize why he did that until I, too, said I would prefer a cup to a bottle of water and he repeated the same sounds and gestures to me. I can't recall ever being chided for asking for a cup for water before. The second issue was that neither the cashier or the manager could get either of my gift cards to work. I waited patiently at the register for nearly 10 minutes while the cashier and then the manager tried to use them. In the meantime I stood at the register with our salads on the open counter while others paid for their meals and sat down. I was asked if I had "activated" them. I have never activated any other restaurant gift card in the past and I said, "No, was I supposed to?" They did not answer but continued to try to put them into the computer. I thought they had, in the end, worked it out, as the manager handed them back and told me my balance on each. My friend and I visited with one another for more than half an hour while we ate our meal. All those around us had come and gone and then the manager came up to me and said the cards would NOW work and asked for them back. Apparently she had "comped" the meal, unbeknownst to me, but then subsequently figured out how to make them work and wanted payment. I was glad to provide payment, since I thought I had already anyway. However, upon thinking about it I thought it was a bit tacky, as she apparently was willing to give us a free meal, but then changed her mind. In hindsight I think since I had to wait so long to eat the already prepared meal, and they had a computer problem that was their issue and we could have been long gone like those who came in after us she should have not asked for the gift cards back.

Prices seem to have increased since they got a new menu. Plus, I used to ask for a side of something like roasted kale or edamame and get it for free, now they charge me for it! The salads are nothing special. Going to Whole Foods across the street has such a better selection for the same price. The sandwiches are pretty good though. Not many vegetarian options.

Super yummy San Remo! They use half an avocado for each one! The San Remo Salad is also just as amazing. Super filling and super fresh! It feels very cozy when you walk in. Parking can be kind of difficult but it is worth it!

Come to Sweet Leaf in Vienna and you're greeted by the lovely and energetic Arita Matini. She and her crew will delight your taste buds with fresh made sandwiches, salads, deserts, and teas! My first visit in I went completely on Arita's recommendations. I tried the San Moreno sandwich on farm bread and was not let down. One unique item to the Sweet Leaf menu: The FroWich. Imagine, if you will, a decent portion of frozen yogurt topped with two fresh toppings and sandwiched between two pizzelle cookies. Sound great? It is! Prices and portions are commensurate and fair here. - Parking is VERY limited as the parking lot is small and shared with two other businesses. Recommend the street parking across Glyndon. Well worth the parking conundrum!!!

I recently decided to start eating "healthy," and since Sweetleaf is right down the street from where I work, it was an obvious option. I actually go there about four days per week for lunch, and I generally get the California Cobb Salad. This location is always clean, the service quick, friendly, and helpful, and the food is pretty tasty. I have always gotten my food to-go, and I have yet to run into a really big line. Today I got the Caprese Sandwich for the first time, and I was pretty happy with it. I do hope that they publish the nutritional information for their food at some point. Definitely check this place out!

this rating is for the salad only. the chicken I added to my California Cobb was tough as a shoe. the leaves we're dryly covered. a few huge chunks of bleu cheese. unfortunately: made with no love. please learn how to properly dresss a salad and learn about cutting things bite-sized.

Vienna has needed a spot like this for a while. Clean, fast and friendly service. Great salads and sandwiches. My favorites are the Berry Leaf Salad (very good with goat cheese) and the Italian Sandwich. Love the ambiance here as well. The decor makes you feel right at home.

  • Alicia N.

I've been eating Sweetleaf since discovering the spot in McLean. I live in Vienna, though so when one was opening in the center of town I thought it was cool. I usually opt for the "Koo Koo Roo" a chicken breast sandwich with melted on toasted baguette. Disclaimer: if you do not properly choose condiments, you will likely end-up with a tasteless sandwich. Disclaimer 2: some of the toppings that make the sandwich tasty end up tacking on $1 each to your sandwich. I usually add cucumber, Italian dressing, avocado ($1 extra), feta cheese ($1 extra) to make it a Greek-type sandwich. All in all, it comes out OK after the toppings. So, you might be asking yourself, if I'm not enthused about this spot, why do I keep coming? Well, it's hard to find lunch options that are actually not really all that bad for you. When I'm tired of eating fried things and greasy things and creamy things I opt for the simple sandwich at Sweetleaf. Also, their frozen yogurt is pretty good, it's tangy and has a bit of a lemony flavor which is refreshing when it's warm.

Hello, my name is starving. That is, after I eat at Sweetleaf, and pay over $10 for a meal and then stop at Dairy Queen on the way home and attempt at being healthy is shot to heck. The concept is like Sweet Green's, build your own salad, sandwich, etc. The staff was rude this day to me, one even gave me a, "duh, of course, you're stupid" look when I asked about gluten free practices. The southwestern salad I had was good, I could have made it myself for half the price, but I enjoyed it. That said, it wasn't out of this world for the price and portion, and I left still hungry.

Most awesome smoothies ever!!! The italian salad was delicious. We love their frozen yogurt. They don't skimp on the yogurt for smoothies and we love the freshness of their fruits. The salads have high quality ingredients. I am so glad to have a new eatery in the Town of Vienna.

I get it...this place is super fresh and everything. I decided to go today. Heard the salads are good but I got a sandwich instead. It's fresh don't get me wrong...but with the milk shake I got with it I ended spending $15. Then I thought...shoot I could have gone down the street to Chipotle for less the price and a larger portion..._

Thrilled to have this adorable spot close to home. When I stopped in for dinner, there were a few customers eating, but no line. I was a bit hesitant to order the Fresh Stack sandwich, since all-veggie sandwiches sometimes end up being more like crudites stuck between two slices of dry bread. I'm so glad I took the risk. This sandwich far exceeded expectations. The farmer bread (a soft, fresh sourdough) was toasted with swiss cheese, and then topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, sprouts, bell pepper, and red onion. I appreciated the obvious care taken by the ladies behind the counter as they meticulously stacked the veggies onto the broad leaf of lettuce before carefully placing the whole stack on the sandwich. As a finishing touch, the bread was slathered with guacamole. My sandwich came with a side of spicy veggie relish salsa, and the guacamole had a bit of a kick, so be warned if you are sensitive to spicy foods. The sandwich was definitely big enough for me, although I do see other reviewers' points that Sweetleaf doesn't compare to the portion sizes at Chipotle. One thing I would like to see are more side dish options, like potato or macaroni salad, or maybe a half sandwich with salad option. They may already have these options, but I didn't see them on the menu board. For the outstanding quality here, I will definitely be skipping past the Chipotle and Noodles and Co. across the street and grabbing my lunch at Sweetleaf from now on.

I was looking forward to trying this place and then.... I actually went. The salad option were kind of underwhelming. So much so that I tried a sandwich instead - the Koo Koo Roo. It was fine, but nothing better than I could've gotten at Whole Foods or Fresh Market. In fact, I had lunch out four days in a row this week because HEY I'M REALLY BUSY. Cava, Whole Foods, Sweetleaf, and Freshmarket. Cava was BY FAR the best, with Whole Foods second. In other words, go ahead and cross Sweetleaf off your list.

Great customer service. Similar to a Sweetgreen but at a discount and with more options. Fresh quality ingredients. They also have very cheap, gourmet breakfast sandwiches that can be ordered all day. These sandwiches + a complimentary coffee or iced tea come out to under $5!

A good option for salads and sandwiches. They have a nice variety of ingredients to choose from for the salads and there are plenty of flavorful, healthy dressing options. The crispy kale in particular is a nice addition to the salad. I had the San Remo salad and was not disappointed. It's a tad pricy overall, but the salads are good enough and a big enough portion that I'll come back.

This place was opened a few months ago and it's down the street from my house. Stopped by today with my daughter and we ordered The British Sandwich w/ spicy mustard and Berry Leaf Salad. We also ordered one strawberry and one mango smoothies. With the sandwich, you can choose different kind of bread and up to 4 toppings. The price is decent for the sandwich and the salad, $7.50 each. There are other kind of sandwiches and salads that I will need to try when I go back the next time. They also serve breakfast all day which might comes in handy during weekend if I get up late. They offer coffee, tea, expresso, and cappuccino. Also have Soups, Yogurt, Snacks, and Ice Cream. The Kid Menu is limited and it's $4.50. Overall, not a bad place at all and their food is fresh.

Decided to try out Sweet Leaf as a new salad spot. I ordered the Sante Fe because I tend to like Southwestern flavor profiles. It was big and the ingredients were fresh but overall the salad was pretty underwhelming. I swaped sour cream for the cilantro vinagerette (my mistake) and all I could taste was the lettuce and cilantro. By the way I love cilantro but that vinagerette was way too overwhelming. I had to bring it back home and add salt, a hard boiled egg and tomatoes to make it worth it to eat. It's never a good sign when you have to add ingredients to a salad. I feel like I spent $7 on lettuce and half an avocado. I went back for a sandwich which was decent but not too much to rave about. Just make sure you choose your toppings wisely.

The Caprese sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. A must try. However, I didn't like their froyo -- it had an odd aftertaste. But the staff members were very friendly and the place was clean and had a very nice, fresh ambiance.

Good salads, decent sandwiches, good froyo, crappy parking and teenage employees who have not ventured outside of suburbia is pretty much how I would describe Sweetleaf (or maybe Suburban Sweetgreen?) Yes, when you order the froyo, sometimes, you will have to say "frozen yogurt" or else you will get plenty of blank stares like you're speaking Elvish. And then when you say "Froyo, like frozen yogurt," just to clarify, the teenage employees will with all of their sassiness respond that Sweetleaf doesn't call it "froyo." Well wa-hey. You learn something new everyday, don'tcha?

I have eaten here a couple times, and I liked em both times. This place makes a nice sandwich, neatly stacked, and tastes delicious. It is a pleasant environment indoor or outdoor off of Maple Avenue in Vienna, Virginia. I would call this a place to hang out with friends and grab a bite to eat to relax on a nice weekend afternoon. To sum it up, clean, tasty neatly made sandwiches, with plenty of options to choose from at a convenient location.

This place is my new lunch spot! The food was fresh and delicious. It tasted better than I expected. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars: The line was hard to navigate and I was confused where to order. I will definitely go back!

The place is very small. It's picnic bench seating and the tables are shaped oddly...as in the shape of a slice of tree trunk. The ordering process is similar to that of a subway or Quiznos, however the menu is unique. I had the British Sandwich. The sandwich itself is $7.95 (comes with meat and cheese) and you get 4 additional toppings. There are a variety of toppings you can select from such as pesto, roasted tomatoes, lettuce, avocadoes etc etc...I would be careful though because the cashier machine screwed up the prices so my sandwich rang up at a higher price than it should have. The cashier was very lazy and didn't want to fix the price discrepancy until I asked her to talk to her manager....so the service isn't all that fab. But they are unintrusive and polite at best. The sandwich was delicious, but I don't know if I would go out of my way to come back here....it wouldn't be on the forefront of my eating list!

San Remo is the way to go - I usually get it on a French baguette. If you are into salads go with the Southwestern. Love the vibe at the venue, the staff is nice and always remembers me which is really awesome. I've talked to the owner a couple times, they seem like they really care about your experience there. I only wish there were more.

Excellent food and service in a great location! The San Remo sandwich is phenomenal, especially paired with a smoothie in which you choose any combination of fruits you like. Love the healthy menu and the earthy decor, it fits the vibe of the restaurant to a T! Service is fast and friendly and the owner, Arita, is courteous and always on top of all operations. It's a family owned-and-operated establishment, too, which makes it even better. Very much recommended!

I like Sweetleaf because it has a lot of healthy options if you are looking for something on the lighter side. Their wraps and salads are delicious and are generous portions. The only downside is that they run a bit on the pricer side and their wraps don't come with a side or drink, which I would like. The place is a bit small and the parking is in the back of the building, but I've never had an issue finding a spot. Overall it's a good experience and I definitely recommend going there!

I go there all the time for lunch. The owner is always there with a smile and you can tell because the quality of both food and service are excellent. The salad bar is sparkling with fresh ingredients and the sandwiches are top notch. Sometimes, I splurge and get the smoothies or soups which are freshly made. I used to go to the bakery shop down the street but the service was bad (owner always yelling at his employees) and the sandwiches have average. Lastly, I think the other reviews are a bit harsh, especially when they complain of the prices being expensive. Fresh produce is not cheap, if you want a cheap salad or sandwich then go to McDonalds or Subway. I think $7-8 for a gourmet salad with fresh cut avocado, roasted peppers, etc is very fair. As for finding the portion being small that is crazy, the salads are the size of a child's head. Definitely I gem in Vienna!!!

Really great place for fresh, healthy, quality food in a quick casual environment. Their daily soups are always yummy and their made-to-order salads are fantastic. It's a great addition to the Vienna scene for people who care about their food.

I love this sunny cafe! Really like the design. Employees are friendly. Food is fresh and delicious and breakfast sandwiches served all day. Sandwiches & salads, soups and yogurt. Can sit at the tables or at the cool wooden counter at the windows looking out to the world whizzing by.

We were so excited about trying this place but ended up very disappointed. Though we are not vegetarian we never eat conventional meat and usually try not to eat meat products most of the time. It took us some time to sort through the menu. We found only two salads and one sandwich that was vegetarian, so we ordered the salads. The lady started suggesting that we add some chicken or egg and I told her we are vegetarians and she said "oh, you came to the right place". With puzzlement we just looked at each other and smiled. The guy who was about to make our salad was wearing gloves and wiping down the cutting board with a towel. He put the towel down in a small container behind him and started making our salads without changing the gloves. Hello? Cross-contamination! I only hope that container had sanitizer in it. The salads were mediocre at best. My salad, the Santa Fe, had some sort of creamy dressing on it but very little so I went back to ask for more and the lady gave me a salsa dressing different from what the guy put on. Ok fine, didn't think it would matter since the guy used so little of the other one. My wife's salad was the Positano which had so sort of Italian dressing. Both dressings had no balance to them and were overly acidic. Generic food service stuff perhaps. When you look around there is no mention of anything organic just innuendo of healthy.... good for you blah blah blah. This place is a obviously a SweetGreen rip off. A wolf and sheep's clothing so to speak.

I just discovered Sweetleaf and I'm now hooked. I don't have one by my house but there's one by where I work and I now go there 2-3 times a week! It's healthy, made to order salads with healthy dressings that are delicious. I'm addicted. Can't wait to make my way through the rest of the menu!

It's not cheap when you make your own salad about $14.00. I like to make my own. However, it's really fresh, wish they did organic. Coffee drinks are as good as Starbucks. Service is awesome. Tight space for lunch it was hard to find a seat. This is a nice addition in Vienna. Finally, parking is a pain only a few spots in back.

Just came here for the first time, have been looking for a go-to lunch salad around my office. Ingredients are fresh, but I ordered the Positano salad, and they didn't put in the mozzarella, which was the main reason that I got the salad. Left it a disappointing experience.

I had the Asian Chicken salad and it was super yummy. It has a strong lime flavor, so if you like that kind of thing you should try it. Funnily, the chicken itself wasn't that good...still, I'm a big fan of the various salad bars in DC. So it's nice to finally have one in Vienna. The place is small - cozy - but cute. The staff was nice, the prices weren't crazy. It was great for a midweek date nite. I'll definitely go again.

Love their fresh, yummy choices! I especially love their tangy frozen yogurt with fruit toppings. My daughters love their chicken sandwiches. Though it is somewhat pricey and parking isn't great...the portions are huge and VERY fresh!

Fair at best. The Veggie sandwich at Cenans in Vienna is way better, bigger and costs less. Try both, Cenans wins easily
