Come to Tangier, you can't miss the famous seafood here, especially here. It's delicious and wonderful. The atmosphere was making me feel right at home.

Crab cakes were great, they had more crab than filler and were obviously fresh. Hot crab dip was also full of crab and the little toasts were good. Had super fast attentive service and very friendly little island. Will definitely be coming back.

Chartered a plane to fly in for the day, there are only three restaurants open, since it is not yet tourist season. There is no outdoor space to eat really, but because we have our little pooch with us, we cannot go in. Price is higher than you would have paid elsewhere for the same type of food, I guess because everything have to be transported apart from the local fish like soft shell crab or crab or other seafood. We ordered a soft shell crab sandwich and a crab cake. They are tiny portion size, my soft shell crab sandwich was one tiny soft shell crab, but tasty, but it is on white factory bread. The crab cake was also tasty and is on brioche bun. Total of $30 for two buns. That is a bit of tourist trap. Otherwise the island is worth a visit. During peak season, there are more dining choice, there is the Waterfront where is located next to the ferry terminal and has sea view and patio seating.

Let me start off by saying, I have tried all three seafood restaurants on the island and this one by far is my favorite. My fiancé and I decided to eat here on my recommendation and as soon as we got off the boat we went straight here before any of the crowd could catch up to us. As soon as we walked in, to our delight, there were very few people in the restaurant. We were greeted with smiling faces and were seated immediately. We started off our meal by ordering two bowls of crab bisque Then we place our order for our appetizer which was hot crab dip served with baguette slices. For our entrées, I ordered the softshell crab and crabcake dinner and my fiancé ordered the softshell crab sandwich. When are soup arrived, it was as delightful as I remembered when I had ordered it in the past. It was very creamy and very rich not to mention it was loaded with fresh crabmeat. It was absolutely delicious and almost heavenly to the pallet. Next was the hot crab dip. It was very rich and also loaded with crabmeat with a blend of different types of cheeses. It was absolutely delicious. Thirdly, our entrées finally arrived. I would have to say that the crabcake was probably the best that I have ever had. It was very thick with lots of crab meat and seasoned just perfectly. The softshell crabs were lightly breaded, perfectly seasoned and also absolutely delicious. It was a delicacy that was definitely worth the hour and a half boat ride out to the island. I definitely recommend that if you ever come to Tangier Island, you have to get the crab. This is what they specialize in and also what they are famous for. There are a whole lot of different seafood choices on the menu such as flounder, scallops, oysters etc. but the crab is definitely what they are famous for and definitely what they are good at.

We tried the restuarents on the island and returned here after experiencing the others. The crab soup, crab cakes and the fish and chips were great. My wife and I enjoyed everything we ate. The staff was wonderful. It was not crowded when we arrived but filled up with family groups. I love this place and the people!!

I have to say that I had one of the most enjoyable lunches ever at this island seafood restaurant. I had the soft crab bites (appetizer menu) and they were PERFECT. I don't think I have ever had soft crab that wonderful. I also had the crab bisque which was amazing. My wife, daughter, and mother in law also had Uncle Frank's Crab Cake Sandwich and it got comments such as "best crab cake ever", "uncle frank knows what he is doing", and "YUM". The decor was very airy and light and comfortable. This restaurant is located on Tangier Island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay and is accessible by private boat, ferry, or private aircraft. I wouldn't say make a trip just to come here....but if you are visiting the island anyways....make this your stop for lunch. It is worth it. By the way....I highly recommend a day or overnight trip to this island. These are very friendly and hardworking folks that live here....and man do they know their crabs and how to prepare them.
