Nice atmosphere. I like the bar area. Seating seems plentiful, even if there was no one inside. We came here for mothers' day this year. We ordered the salmon egg rolls, some sort of salad, veggie spring rolls, crab rice and some vegetables. I ordered a Sam Adams and my father did as well. I got a Blue Moon and my father did as well. I didn't say anything until the waitress asked "Do you want another Sam Adams" to which I replied, "This wasn't a Sam Adams." She proceeded to get defensive and say something to the effect of "Yes, it was, I can show you the bottle." Alright. So, look here.. I'm somewhat of a beer snob at times and I know the difference between a wheat ale and an American lager, especially when the color of the wheat ale is a murky gold and a Sam Adams is an obviously different shade. To boot, that beer is on TAP. I could see the tap from my seat where it was likely poured from. My father asked for another Sam Adams later to which the waitress replied, "We ran out of that beer." WTF? There was literally no one in the establishment that was drinking this beer currently, so she was either lying through her teeth, or just didn't know what the heck she was talking about. Either way, Blue Moon is a decent beer, so whatever, I drank that shit. On to the food. Bland. Bland is the only way to describe EVERY dish I ate. Cabbage Spring Rolls: Bland. No flavor, save the sauce it was served with. "With", not on the side. covered in sauce which I wasn't expecting. And I didn't like the sauce much. Pawned the remaining two out of three off on my folks. Crab Rice: Crabby tasting, but yet still somehow bland. It was ok, but lacked any sort of punch. The serving was gargantuan though. My father was kind enough to let me take a few spoonfuls of his plate, but after those small spoonfuls, I didn't return for more. Salmon Rolls: Weird tasting. Probably just didn't know what to look for. Salmon eggs are strange. Had a few bites and put it down. Veggies: At this point I was already done eating and pawned my meal off on my family. They looked pretty good though. Salads: Honestly, didn't even bother. With a track record like I just had in a few minutes, I felt as if it wasn't worth continuing my disappointment. Salmon Rolls: Weird tasting. Probably just didn't know what to look for. Salmon eggs are strange. Overall my experience was: I ate little bits of this and little bits of that, never feeling satisfied that the food was any good. Sorry, just have to be honest on this one. I went home and made some food from my kitchen along with a nice cold Sam Adams.

Okay. Spring rolls were good. Rice was very good. Chicken was dry. Somewhat disappointed; really wanted to love this place.

This place is a hit or miss. I ordered pad-see-eww with tofu to go. What I received tastes and feels like porridge. The noodles are soggy and the whole new was over cooked. The noodles are crumbling and the meal is disgusting. Never coming back

I dig Celadon! This restaurant is super pretty, and they dish out some tasty Thai food. I only did carry out today, but I'd definitely like to dine in one day because Celadon is a very modern and attractive dining establishment. It's a nice touch that the namesake ceramic is displayed in the back. The hardwood floor has a really interesting finish... They have a loyalty program so you can get bonuses like free Thai iced tea on each visit. That's pretty cool! Unlike many other restaurants, Celadon has a clearly labeled area for to-go orders. This makes ordering takeout more pleasant. While you wait, you can also take in their sleek bar. While I was standing around, I surveyed the room and looked at the diners' plates. They use stylish serving ware and the portions seem just right, maybe not Chinese-restaurant plentiful but enough to keep you full. For today, I got vegetables in red curry. There are two red curry dishes and this one contains coconut milk. I was drawn to this dish because the star ingredient was kabocha squash. I seldom see kabocha squash on Thai restaurants' menus so that was exciting and different. This entree was $11 and totally worth every penny. Note: This is the full-sized version, not one of the lunch specials. I've found vegetable anything quite disappointing at most Thai restaurants because they tend to give you really crappy veggies. Celadon's red curry dish contains many hunks of the kabocha squash as well as red peppers, broccoli, and eggplant. This curry was spicy, though not overly so. I wouldn't consider Celadon's curry game-changing, but it was delicious and contained high-quality ingredients. For my hubby, I ordered a special on the lunch menu (good for dining in or carryout), the crispy chicken breast in a special sauce. Waiting for him to come home and try it, but the chicken looks pretty good (lovely golden crust on the outside). It comes with a heaping of rice and another side. All lunch specials are $8.95. The fact that they offer lunch special pricing for carryout orders is awesome. The server who assisted me today was friendly and polite, always appreciated. I'd recommend this place if you are looking for a serene, comfortable setting to enjoy good Thai food. Additionally, the restaurant's location in the same shopping center as Walgreens, Whole Foods, Starbucks, and other consumer favorites is a plus. Ample parking, ftw.

We love Celadon! Best basil chicken around. We eat here often and have never had a bad meal.

I feel a need to update this review since we've frequented the place for the last couple of months. With a nice variety of Thai restaurants within 15 minutes of our home, we usually ventured off to Springfield or Fairfax for our Thai fix. But if a shorter drive( 5 minutes) is more our style, then we head over to Celadon. OK, one draw is their LivingSocial coupon, so worth it! Everytime we come out here there doesn't seem to be more than 2-3 patrons in the restaurant, and we come around the meal hour...what's up with that? The food is very tasty, and they have gotten better with their portion size. The fried tofu is always fresh, and their pad thai was SO flavorful. When we ask for spicy...they always come through, SPICEYYYYY... You can also always ask for their spice tray. There's 2 types of spices that will make your sweat ...everywhere!

Ordered delivery from this place for the first time...coming from a Thai food fanatic, I was quite disappointed in the food. I ordered the yum woon sen salad, pad Thai, and pad see yew. The yum woon sen was very dry and the leaves smelled funny with a harsh bitter taste (like dirt...obviously wasn't washed properly), the pad Thai was dry and the pad see yew was dry. Everything was just dry and lacked flavor. Yum woon sen is supposed to be spicy but all I tasted was the lime juice I had to add myself. So disappointing when the price is higher than other casual Thai places. Paid over $40 which included tip and was definitely not worth that. I don't regret tipping the delivery woman though, she was sweet.

I had a lunch special of drunken noodles (Pad Kee Mow) here shortly after Celadon opened a few years ago, and it was meh. I stopped by with a friend for drinks at the bar a couple of years ago - the drinks and the bar were nice, but the spring rolls we ordered were super greasy. I was in the neighborhood at dinnertime a few weeks ago, so stopped in with a friend for dinner. I had a coupon for free spring rolls with dinner, so I ordered them again. Just as greasy as I remembered - no improvement with time. I ordered Yum Talay (shrimp, scallop, squid, and mussel salad with lemongrass and chili lime dressing). OMG, it arrived RAW. The shrimp were grey and translucent. I immediately called the waitress back and showed her. She said, "Oh, you should have said you wanted it 'well done.'" WHAT? They don't even serve regular shrimp raw in sushi bars - it's always cooked until pink and opaque. And who eats raw mussels? Are these people trying to give people food poisoning? The waitress took the plate away and returned the same one a few minutes later. It had obviously been put in the microwave because the lettuce underneath the seafood was warm and totally wilted. The seafood was done and tasted OK, but I was incredulous that they had microwaved an entire lettuce-based salad. Well, I was still hungry after eating only the seafood from the salad, so I figured the chicken satay would be a safe bet. NOT!!! The skewers had been pre-cooked, stored on the plate with cucumber garnish, and then the entire plate put into the microwave before serving. The cucumber garnish was a warm wilted mess. The satay tasted like wax and was inedible. The peanut sauce wasn't much better - the oil had separated from the sauce and was floating on top, and the sauce had an odd fishy taste. My friend got the tofu Pad Thai and was able to eat only some of the noodles. She said the tofu tasted terrible. The dish was so unappetizing that she declined taking home the leftovers. Definitely will not be back. Many other better Thai places in the area.

All around, like this place. Dined in before and it was all around good food, service and ambiance. Today, ordered delivery (panang and drunken noodles) and they were super fast, and to note they delivered even though it was snowing (some accumulation but not terrible storm). You can't beat good food and free delivery. I also would note that we got the panang extra spicy and it was definitely 'thai' hot. The drunken noodles come medium spicy and they were perfect for my mother in law who likes spicy. I will definitely be ordering more delivery from here! Thanks

I love Drunken Noodle, but I am very particular about this dish should taste. I can easily make the dish myself at home, but the issue that I have is that the flame on my stove is not high enough for that spicy smoky flavor that I love. I ordered Drunken Noodle for carry out from here and it was nicely spiced with a touch of the smoky flavor. It didn't look spicy when I opened the container, but as I kept eating, it got spicier. The portion was big enough for me to share with my son.

I ordered Tom Khaa Gai... and when it got delivered.. it's NOTHING like Tom Khaa Gai at all... how do I know this? because I'm Thai.. born and raised in Thailand... so I'm pretty sure what Tom Khaa Gai would look and tastes like.. first off.. there's NO coconut milk in it... so pretty much it looks like Tom yum... AND the one I got even tastes like Tom Yum Gai... very disappointed

This is one of my favorite places for Thai. I love the red curry, I could probably just drink the sauce plain - it's that good! :)

Their Panang curry is the BEST. There's another Thai place in Burke Centre but this one gives it a run for its money. Also, they deliver!

Ambiance: good, clean, chic Food: subpar, I got spoiled chicken when I ordered chicken basil. Not impressed at all Prices: over rated Service: food came fast but tasted bad, no one asked to refill my drink. Wouldn't come back here again.

Ok, I should know better than to Yelp when angry; it's like texting an ex-boyfriend when drunk (1) (2) Wait until you're calm ( or sober) But Celadon crossed the line today. Here's the thing about celadon: it's the lesser of 2 evils. If you just have to have pad thai and you aren't wanting to leave the Burke / West Springfield area, it's here or Panisa. It's the Sophie's Choice of Thai food. My husband HATES this place, claims he got sick on one of their lunch specials, so I just go when he's working late. And it's like the old joke: the food is bad and there's not enough of it. But I put up with it, until today. This is the SECOND time in a row they've refused to honor one of their coupons. The first time it was a mobile coupon on my phone and they claimed it needed to be printed out. This time they claimed the coupon was not good for carry-out because THE OTHER coupon said 'dine-in only' The other coupon also had a better discount but I wasn't dining-in, hence not using that coupon. The waitress got crazy surly with me. I mean MEAN. I gave the coupon to an elderly couple who was dining in, although now I feel bad cause I'm sure there's invisible fine print that also says "non-transferable" (I found it online and I'll post it so you can see I'm not some crazy extreme coupon psychopath) Now that sister's thai has opened in Fairfax and golden bangkok in Springfield, there's no reason to subject myself to this place anymore. 1) Or so I hear, I've been married WAY longer than cell phones, except those big ones that came in bags and were the size of a brick. 2) Footnotes ! In a yelp review. I need to get a job.

Celadon is a tidy Thai place tucked inside a strip mall in West Springfield. It serves a creditable (if a bit dry) chicken stir fry. It would be worth a return trip to try out more items on the menu.

Hello Celadon, it's me again with yet another exciting experience at your joint. Hello Mr Manager, my friends stopped by the other day and mentioned that you were very adamant about toilet usage. They were there eating earlier, and then came back to specially use your toilet and was rejected. Come on, why you gotta be so anal about it man? A lot of other THAI restaurants are cool about it. My friend was very upset!

This is my favorite Thai place in the Burke area. I've only ordered take out, but the dining room looks very nice and I will probably try it sometime soon! I docked one star because it's a little pricier than some of its competitors, but it shows in the quality.

The atmosphere inside is great. Has a modern look and feel to it, and the staff is extremely friendly. The wait for our food was pretty reasonable when we went, and since it was my birthday they brought out a free dessert of sticky rice and mango. Tasty! However, was underwhelmed with the main course. My dish was some sort of chicken, vegetable, and rice combination that, for some reason, was runny. My sister ended up sending her meal back because it didn't taste "right." I've had two experience at different Thai food restaurants, and while not a bon vivant when it comes to Thai, would feel confident recommending the other restaurant just because of food flavor, taste, things like that...

Overall this place wasn't too bad. We went on Valentines Day, so it was understandably busier than I've seen while driving past. So as far as the slow service, I'll give them a pass. The food was really good and tasty. No complaints there. They overcharged me for appetizers and I didn't notice until I re-read the receipt when I got home. My glass sat empty through most of the dinner, but again, I don't think they ever had that many people in their restaurant before. Two entrees, one appetizer and two glasses of wine was about $70. The food was good enough that I'll go back and give them a second try. Just gonna double check my receipt next time and bring a bottled water just in case!!

I eat a lot of Thai food, especially rice dishes. My former boss of three years (quit when I went to college) was Thai and always had delicious food he would bring for us to try, so I am familiar with "authentic" Thai cuisine. I have been coming here since it opened, especially as a break from college food. I usually get either fried rice with tofu and vegetables, or green curry. Favorite appetizers are the rolls and the tofu squares. The food is always hot, and cooked fresh. It is full of flavor and not just American Thai knockoff food. The staff is quiet but attentive. The restaurant itself is cozy, and always clean. I've never had to wait for a seat during lunch, since the majority of the business is takeout, and I've made dinner reservations a couple of times. The owner is extremely friendly and greets me when she sees me, keeping up with me about school and life- a nice personal touch. I would recommend this place for a light dinner date, but always for a fresh lunch. In the spring they have outdoor seating and it's pleasant to sit and relax. One of my favorites.

I ordered 3 lunch specials. 1 - Chicken Pad Thai 2 - Chicken Basil 3 - Chicken Drunken Noodles. The lunch specials include 2 fried pot stickers. They put some type of bean sauce with the pot stickers which I found to be disgusting. The pad thai to me was inedible. I threw it away. I just didn't like the taste. The chicken basil was ground chicken. That was interesting. I expected slices of chicken meat. I ate half. The flavor was acceptable. The drunken noodles were fine but the sliced chicken was dry. I ate only the noodles portion and threw away the chicken. The lunch specials come with a soda. When the waiter handed me my order, he did not voluntarily include sodas with my lunch specials. I had to specifically ask for them. I didn't like that. The decor is updated and very appealing. However, this is not an establishment I will go to again.

This is a really nice thai restaurant. Theyve got a lot of flavor, great portions and food is fresh. Some of their things are pricey, but well priced. Theyve also got great lunch specials! I love their location and this place is really clean.

Go here quite a bit as it's right down the street from my house. Food is good and service is good. Love their spicy vegetables, vegetable green curry, and fresh garden rolls.

This spot is a lovely surprise for the Burke/Springfield area that is seriously lacking in quality restaurants. I have dined here a number of times. Each time the food was always fresh, service was prompt, and it was quite the enjoyable experience. Menu Highlights: Appetizers: Sundried Beef, Spring Rolls, Garden Rolls Main Course: Pad Thai, Pad Prig Khing (My favorite), Pad Pak Ruam, the duck is also excellent.. Dessert: SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! The mangos and sticky rice is delicious and they also have a pineapple and ice cream dessert that is worth it too! My only qualm is having to convince the wait staff that I truly want my food to me "thai hot". However, heat lovers deal with this issue at most Thai spots they frequent, so it's really not a big deal.

We have been going to this location for over a year now and we enjoy their food overall. The only problem we have with them is they mess up our too go orders frequently. Also, they never refill your drink and the food is very spicy. Lastly, our pad Thai has tasted different each time we order it...and not in a good way!

Oh, goodness. Here is my update on Celadon and sadly, they've been pushed down to 2.5 stars. Of my Thai food options in Northern Virginia, Celadon most definitely would not be a "go to" for solid Thai food. Service was alright, the restaurant itself was still as fabulous as ever, but this time I did give the food a try. Although the presentation was excellent, the food itself was seriously lacking. My Tom Yum Soup was about lukewarm - lame. I also had one of their lunch specials, the chicken fried rice, which came with a spring roll. The spring roll? Also barely warm. The chicken fried rice was a bit of a let down as well - kind of on the bland side...which is when I called for the spice tray, which boosted it up a bit. Sure, presentation is key (which they have nailed) but honestly, after the three seconds I'm done looking at my food, it's all going to the same place and it better be yum. I don't know, maybe Celadon is a hit-or-miss kind of restaurant.

Not a great Thai restaurant, coming from someone who's favorite cuisine is Thai. Dishes are often oily and not very flavorful. Small portions for the price. Also, they CONSISTENTLY get my order wrong. I don't understand what's wrong with the person taking the order or the kitchen, but what's in my hands is never what I ordered. I have given this place so many chances (I'd say I've been here more than 20 times) because I really, really want to like it, since it's the closest Thai restaurant to my house, but unfortunately it just really isn't very good.

Celadon Thai was the answer to my prayers. My cousins and I have long hoped for a thai restaurant in the West Springfield area. It didn't even have to be a spectacular restaurant, we just needed one to exist period since there aren't any. So when Celadon opened last week, we jumped at the chance to try it. We were blown away! The food was exquisite. I ate my favorite thai curry: Massamun. It was well seasoned. I could've used a bit more spice, but as I usually do at all Thai restaurants, I asked for the spice tray and added my own spice to my dish. My cousin ordered the Kra Pow dish with eggplant, and it was phenomenal. Probably the best kra pow sauce I've ever had at any Thai restaurant. On top of all this, I decided to order Thai Iced tea as my drink. Thai Iced Tea is a delicious favorite drink of mine at most Thai restaurants, but I usually refrain from ordering it because it's generally expensive and you don't get much of it, nor do you get refills. But at Celadon, I was given a large glass of the delicious drink. All in all, Celadon surpassed all my expectations. I may never eat anything else in the West Springfield area now that I know that authentic thai cuisine is so nearby.

Our go-to Thai restaurant, not just because it's so close. Their food is really good. Being a vegetarian, I appreciate the many vegetarian option. The Sweet Basil Tofu is my favorite, followed by the green curry. I'm surprised at the reviews saying they had dishes with no flavor as we have found everything to be very spicy and full of flavor. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because their dishes are sometime too spicy. Their brown rice is also fantastic.

First impression that it was a good restaurant with friendly staff. It certainly was above average and you should eat in the restaurant to experience the total ambiance. My wife and I started with the curry puff which was pretty good although we thought it was strange they served it with a creamy cucumber yogurt based sauce on the side rather than the typical sweetened pickled cucumbers that accompanies in most Thai restaurants. It wasn't altogether bad, just different. Perhaps if I had it a few more times I'll acquire a taste for it. It wasn't typical "Thai". I had the Thai styled BBQ chicken and that was good. It was a good portioned half chicken marinated very well and grilled just right. They serve it with sticky rice wrapped within banana leaves; the aroma of the leaves is a pleasant scent to accompany and is infused in the rice as you eat it. This should eaten Thai style by rounding a small piece of sticky rice and picking up a piece of chicken with it. That was delicious! Ordered the fried rice, which I thought was more tasty than most'; fine mixture of spices and ingredients and prepared well. The final dish I tried was the papaya salad and this was disappointing. I think most Americans will enjoy it, but as a Thai person there was something missing. Maybe not enough lime or a spice; whatever, it was lacking. The review was mixed, but then again I did i did visit the restaurant on a weekend after July 4th. Perhaps it was slower and they didn't have their "A-Team" chefs. I would go again; I would order the BBQ chicken (It was great!) and try another of their specialties.

I was super excited to learn that there was now a Thai place close to Burke, especially because I just moved from Maryland and I was missing my amazing local Thai joint. I really really really wanted to love Celadon, not just because it is close, but because they DELIVER. Not too many places around here do, so I thought that was pretty amazing.....that said I wasn't too surprised that this place lived up to the yelp reviews. I was beyond disappointed. I went with the chicken massaman curry and the chicken was dry and overdone, there were like two potatoes, and the sauce was tasteless. I hated the spring rolls and will never order them again. The kanom jeep (shrimp dumplings) weren't very good either. I was having dinner with my family and my Mom loved her shrimp pad thai....but it can be kind of hard to mess that up. My Dad liked his extra spicy basil chicken, but I'm not sure that I can bring myself to order from here again. I gave it one extra star because it does deliver.......but I don't think that I will order from here again. (We picked up our order, but based on the pictures of the restaurant it is nice inside)

this place was so unfriendly. the manager was bad mouthing thinking that we didn't understand Thai but we did! on top of tht, the food wasn't fresh like another person mentioned and when we complain, he said we already ate some of it. there are plenty of other Thai restaurants around the area you can go to. good luck on this one if you try

Consistently great food served quickly, great friendly staff, reasonable prices. Almost every dish I've ever ordered here has been very good, prepared to my expectations. Excellent staff and environment too. I've dined here since they opened and will continue to do so! The only thing preventing 5 stars are their mixed drinks: pricey and nearly devoid of alcohol.

Restaurant appeared clean. That is pretty much all i can say good about this restaurant. The food was cold it took forever to get the food and the portions were rather small this i can deal with if the food is good but it was not. We had the Pad Thai with beef it pretty much had no flavor except the salt my goodness was it salty. I had the country grilled chicken the chicken was actually cooked perfectly but again it was cold and flavorless. I was very excited to find a Thai restaurant close to the house but left very disappointed.

Not terrible, but not great either. A true "OK". I've been there on several occasions, including lunch. Their Tom Khaa Gai soup is consistently extremely sour. The flavor of galanga, kaffir and lemongrass is there, but it's almost inedible. The chicken is often dry. Some of the main dishes are very sweet. For example, red curry chicken from the lunch menu. All in all, the decor is cool, your meal is presented beautifully, but frequently the food is missing that umph. Apparently, menu is overpriced because of the interior, not because of the superior quality of food. In my opinion, Thai food is all about the delicate balance and it's just not there. So every time I eat at Celadon, I remember, why I'm not a frequent diner here.

We love Thai food and went to Celedon frequently when it first opened. It has since dropped in portion size and quality. We used to like their vegetarian Pad Thai. The portions shrunk dramatically and last time it had one skimpy piece of tofu. We have stopped going there.

Came here for lunch because it was close by. Service was slow and the chicken red curry I ordered was mediocre. Next time I'll take the extra 10 minutes and drive to Thai Cafe.

LOVE this place. We've gone several time a month since they opened and it's so hard to decide what to order as everything is so good! My favorites are the seafood dishes. I usually don't care for squid or octopus in my seafood as they tend to be rather rubbery in texture, but Celadon nails it every time, they always arrive tender. The scallops always sweet and the shrimp never over done. The salmon and mango is quite good, as are all the noodle dishes and the curries, especially the Massaman curry with tofu and vegetables. When we have out of town guests we tend to take them to Celadon for at least one dinner. I have one dear friend with Celiac as well as numerous other food sensitivities and eating out with her can be quite an ordeal, but not here, she quickly identified several items she was able to enjoy and loved the salmon and mango with steamed rice. We live just a half mile away and this place has become our go to Thai place. It does get extremely crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, so we tend to plan accordingly.

Good food. The curries were spicy without burning the mouth, and the pad Thai had good flavor.

Good service. Not the best Thai food I've ever had, but pretty good compared to the other Thai we've tried here in NoVa. My panang curry had no vegetables and the beef was pretty chewy. My dining companions had no complaints about the chicken though. Next time I plan on trying a noodle dish, rather than a curry.

Tiny portions. Not a ton of flavor. Not cheap. I don't like signing the check while discussing what we can make to eat when we get home to fill us up. Not worth it

I live in the Springfield area and when my family and I go out for Thai, we usually leave Springfield. So I was really excited to try Celadon when it opened. The decor is simple, modern, and beautiful - not a combination you usually find in Springfield since most restaurants have generally been there for 10+ years. I was also really impressed by how smoothly everything went considering they've only been open for a little over a week now. I got Thai Iced Tea, Duck Curry, and the Creme Brulee for dessert. Some people judge Thai places by their Thai Iced Tea, or their Pad Thai, or their Drunken Noodles. I got to taste all three, and all three were really good. The curry was also really satisfying, I was pleasantly surprised by how they incorporated lychee in it! It was so good! OH, another nice touch is that they offer brown rice in addition to the standard jasmine rice for all the healthy conscious folks! All in all, I'm very happy they decided to open here and I will definitely go back!

Plain and simple, I LOVE this place! I've enjoyed Thai food for many years, but have had quite a difficult time finding places that were "worthy." We lived in the Seattle area for almost three years before coming back to Northern VA, and I never found good Thai food there. In Northern VA, I always used to visit this wonderful little Thai place in Herndon; never finding any other as good, until now. Celadon has wonderful hot Jasmine tea to accompany their nicely spiced dishes. So far, my absolute favourite dish is the Sweet Basil Tofu (with chile spices for a perfect heat level). Yes, they have a bar, but I didn't try any of the "good " drinks, just the hot and cold teas, club soda and diet soda. Yes, they offer take out, or delivery within a couple mile radius. I haven't ordered delivery yet, but I certainly will at some point!!! HIGHLY recommend giving this restaurant a try!

"Lunch menu or regular menu?" is how you're greeted at this new and very pretty strip mall restaurant near the Whole Food Market. My lunch was delicious but I'm suggesting that they greet diners in a friendly manner and give them both menus, without a choice....let them read everything! My lunch from the lunch menu included an appetizer spring roll that was crispy but lacked a flavorful filling - I recommend passing this up so does that mean I want to choose from the regular menu for lunch next time? see how confusing it can be! Now for my great selection: Pad See Ew was chicken and broad noodles with pieces of broccoli (could be leaves, not the flower clusters) in a sweet soy sauce. It was so delicious that I saved half for my husband to taste at dinner and so he can tell me if it's broccoli indeed. I loved this dish and look forward to going back to Celadon for pad thai, of course. As for those $7.95 luncheon specials, my lunch including a $2 tip came to $14 because they charge $2.50 for plain, unsweetened ice tea and no refill was offered. Go for the regular menu-sized portions and I'm sure their prices will make sense, I hope. update 9-14-2010: Celadon has become our favorite casual, neighborhood restaurant for dinner because the chef really knows how to prepare fish and we love the grilled salmon with the mango sauce($16) and the steamed sea bass ($20). I'm really surprised that we now have 'thai' favorites that don't include 'pad'. Another yelper mentioned his disappointment with the spring rolls and I agree, I expect something "plumper" and this did taste like lettuce with a bit of fresh mint . For a 25% off (up to $10) of the second similarly priced entree - coupon, go to couponclipper.com . Even without a coupon, based on my dining experiences, the quality of the food and the friendly service. this is a wonderful place to eat. Be prepared to wait for a table!

I was very impressed with the food here. The Tom Kha Gai soup was delectable, the "Fresh Garden Rolls" certainly held up to their name, and the Shrimp Green Curry was yummy, although not as spicy as I hoped. Because I am only 3 miles away (the limit to their delivery service) I am actually waiting on Red Shrimp curry, soup and the basic Pad Thai. Although I was surprised by the prices when I stepped into the formal dining room located off a strip mall, the gain in my belly justified the loss in my wallet. One downside for me is that they don't accept checks. Have some faith in your customers! Maybe soon they will...

Picked up take out dinner from this place. The shrimp pad thai had no flavor to it. Very bland. The Spring Rolls were also rather tasteless but crispy. The Green Curry with tofu and veggies was the highlight of the meal. The green curry was SPICY and had a really nice kick to it. The curry itself also wasn't too watery or too thick. I could have used more variety of vegetables but it was not a deal breaker. The waitstaff was very friendly though and the decor is nice. Modern but homey at the same time. I still prefer Thai Cafe on Loisdale Rd.

This place is ok, it's good enough and in a convenient enough spot for me to go for my thai cravings. Their thai tea is subpar. I highly will recommend their curries however, they are tasty and basically on the same level of quality as any other thai restaurant. The service is generally ok, nothing too great nothing too bad about it.

Best thing about this restaurant is that it's within walking distance to my house. I went here last night because my friend wanted Thai food and I had a first year anniversary coupon (buy one entree, get one free) that came in the mail. Seriously, unless you have a coupon, this place isn't worth it. The food isn't terrible; it's just that there are so, so many other better options. We started with a appetizer sampler that had chicken satay, crispy veggie roll and shrimp dumplings. These were all good, but nothing special. I got the Thai Style Country Chicken that came with sticky rice and a special dipping sauce. The chicken was cooked nicely, but the special dipping sauce was a mere sweet and sour sauce with a little bit of a kick...really?!? And the sticky rice was not up to par at all. Also, my Mango Daquiri was heavy on the mango and ice, but light on the rum. Based on food alone, this places gets 2 stars, but the decor is nice and the service is good too, so I'll up it to 2.5. I'll come back, but only when I'm craving Thai and don't feel like driving. Or I have a decent coupon.

It's a step up from most of the local restaurants in Springfield. The decor is very nice but the food is only adequate.

Ok first off let me say wow to the atmosphere! For a Springfield/Burke Thai restaurant I would compare this to a DC Top Thai restaurant. The presentation of food is exquisite! I uploaded pictures, the restrooms are single seat, nothing special. I look forward to trying the vegetarian duck!

I love Celadon and am a regular here. The food and service is good. You can't go wrong with the curry puffs or pineapple fried rice. Some of our favorites are the Pad Woon Sen, Massaman & Panang curries. Too bad I can't get them to deliver to my apartment :-(

We went to the Celadon Thai restaurant on a Sunday with a group of five (family and friend) and ordered off the lunch menu.. Everyone in our party found the food delicious, the service efficient and very friendly, and the decor truly beautiful. I had the won ton soup and crab fried rice and both were spectacularly good. Others in our group ate family style from plates of Thai food and everybody felt that their food was delicious and presented in a tasteful way. We will definitely return as often as possible from our homes in Alexandria.

My wife and I love this place. We struggle to find any decent restaurants in the Springfield/Burke area, so we are delighted to have Celadon nearby. We've had nothing but great experiences here. Currys are wonderful, the sun-dried beef fried rice is incredible, and the chicken curry puffs are to die for. They have a great Papaya salad as well. We mostly take advantage of their free delivery, but enjoy eating at the restaurant as well. Best restaurant in the area, by far!

Tried this place twice for carryout after receiving a few coupons in the mail. Spring rolls were about them only thing I found edible although they were pretty greasy. Ordered a couple curries and got slivers of bone both times. I know some Asian and Indian restaurants cook the meat on the bone, but that is a turn-off for me. No desire to try again...

My husband and I have been fans of Celadon since they opened...my childrren (who are 6 and 4 and incredibly picky eaters) love eating here as well (they like the wonton soup, chicken satay and smiling tiger beef). This is definitely the best Thai in the area and would recommend to anyone living nearby.

Came here today for a quick lunch with my girlfriends.... We decided to try this place because it was convenient for one of our girlfriend. Anyways, it was my first time there so here's what I observed.... 1) The interior design & decoration was pretty neat & modernized = very soothing & refreshing to walk into 2 ) I ordered the Red Chicken Curry off the lunch special & first impression was it smelled like butts... even my friend sitting across from me agreed so.... But I still chowed down & I guess as you go along... you get used to it .... 3) I like their plates & bowls but the soup bowl is too hard to dig into!!!!! The rice bowl is really cute & made me smile when I saw them! But yes, the soup bowl can be a struggle for one to get the LAST drop of their TOM YUM GONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) It was okay... nothing screamed out "special" & is hunting for my name to go back to anytime soon....

Nicely decorated....other than that, food isn't very good or borderline. There are other Thai places in Springfield that are way better.

Weirdest chicken dish I ever ate. Do not waste your time, money, or appetite on this one. Staff is rude and not accommodating, would not let us use the bathroom beacuse it was 15 minutes before they closed and it was being cleaned!

Taking into account the decor, service and food, I think this place gets 3 stars. The food was all right; it wasn't anything special. There are other Thai places I like better. Fyi- the food took awhile to come out for a Friday evening. I'm unsure why- we ordered spring rolls, tom yum soup, 2 pad thais and a chicken dish off the specials menu. For Tom Yum soup lovers, I think their soup had the correct amount of sour and spiciness.

We tried this restaurant on a lark. My boyfriend knows I like Thai food and he's starting to get a feel for it. Celadon is in the middle of a busy strip mall, but once inside, the hustle and bustle of the strip mall atmosphere melts away. The restaurant itself is small, maybe seating 50 or so diners. We got there early, before 5, and had no trouble getting a seat. The server gave us some wonderful suggestions and we tried one of the featured appetizers... beef satay. We were not disappointed. The beef itself was VERY tender and flavorful. We both got the shrimp pad thai-- a staple for me in any new Thai restaurant and it was awesome! The favors were complex and delicious! The waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, with the food, atmosphere and quality of service, this was a winning experience.

I visited within the first 10 days that they opened which was around mid-July. They were having some start up issues related to service. However, the food was fantastic. I've been back several times since then and the service has vastly improved. The Larb Gai, Summer Rolls and Curry are outstanding. It's my favorite local restaurant. Go and enjoy.

I really wanted to love this place, but after two visits I'm convinced that the food is only meh. The pad thai is bland and has very little sauce in it. The first time I tried it, I told the server that and asked for some fish sauce or something to give it more flavor, but they didn't seem to understand my complaint. The chicken in the pad thai was not bad, but also tasteless. I wasn't impressed with the chicken satay, either. The beef kaprow was a little better. The presentation of the food is always great, but the flavor just isn't there. The service has been fine, but when they're busy you get seated in tables that are uncomfortably close together, and if they're not busy, the staff hanging around seem to stare a bit too much. It's a shame because they did such a great job on the decor and atmosphere. Even the bathroom is beautiful. And they play Iron Chef on the TV.

Pros: Great curry sauce, but seafood was not so fresh. Staff is friendly & attentive, which is to be expected of a Thai restaurant. Reasonably priced lunch menu. Cons: Read the fine print before using their coupons; deals aren't that good.

We live in West Springfield and we love this place! The food is always top notch and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We eat here at least once a week. We usually get take out or delivery but dining in is always a nice experience. They have a great wine list and the atmosphere is always relaxing. We are so glad we have Celadon in our neighborhood.

A delicious Thai restaurant in Springfield that offers delivery? What more could I ask for...I've been in 6-7 times since they opened just over a month ago & I have been pleased every time. The wait time for carry out is a bit long but if you sit down it is quite quick. The service is great (very nice/friendly waitstaff) & the food is delicious as well. The panang & red curries are both good, & the noodle dishes come out with perfectly al dente noodles. I will definitely be eating here again!

We've eaten here a couple times in the past month. We ate in one night, and got delivery (!) another night. Everything we've had has been great - pad thai, spring rolls, shrimp pad krapow and chicken pad khing sohd. We tried to get the fresh garden rolls twice, and were told that they were out of them both times :( - maybe next time? When we ate in, we each got an extra side of steamed veggies - it was a good portion and rounded out our entrees nicely. Delivery was prompt, although we both thought that the portions seemed a tad smaller than when we ate in at the restaurant. Brown rice on the side is a huge plus!! We will definitely be back!!

One of the better places to eat out in Burke, and overall a good thai restaurant. Spiciness of dishes is inconsistent, though, so ordering hot one trip may not offer the same bite the next trip.

Was invited to have lunch at this restaurant with a few friends and came away very pleased. Was greeted warmly as we entered and seated quickly. The decor was modern and chic. We tried several appetizers which were beautifully plated and very delicious. As is custom with my group of friends we ordered 4 different items and shared them amongst us. Although all 4 items were fabulous, the duck and red curry were by far my favorite and absolutely phenomenal. I am looking forward to a return trip to try other items on the menu and have some more of the duck and red curry.

really really good place for white people who really really don't like a lot of authenticity in regards to their Thai food and are really really more interested in great parking more than being really really interested in concepts like "taste" and "flavor"

Great atmosphere and service. However, the food was not terrible, but pretty bad. I don't know if it's cause I am Asian that I am more familiar with the ingredients in Asian food, but the proportions were way off. Some food had way too much fish sauce that was drowning out the other flavors. Some of the meat dishes have been overcooked in my experience. I tend to not buy curry when I go to Thai restaurants because it is such a simple dish to get right at home, so I can't speak for the curries. Avoid the soft shell crab at all costs. If it is taste you are looking for, drive up 7100 to the Springfield Mall area and eat at Thai Cafe where the flavors are more balanced (although the ambiance is not as nice).

Greasy, overcooked masaman curry and overcooked shrimp pad thai with mushy noodles left us very disappointed when we ordered take out here a few nights ago. The taste left much to be desired. Fell quite short of expectations based on meals from other Thai restaurants. There are others in the Springfield area to try, so we'll move on to one of those next time. It is very attractive inside, but food makes the reputation.

I'm a fan of the chicken curry puffs. I wasn't a fan of anything else. I gave it 4 stars because of the puffs. I had Pad Thai (spelling?). There was too much of something in it that gave it an unpleasant taste. I've had that dish elsewhere and really liked it. Spouse had grilled chicken. It was average. Price not bad. I'd go again just for the puffs. They were filling, too.

We order delivery from Celadon frequently. The Celadon Sun-dried Beef is great! My only complaint is that the food does vary in quality depending on who's on staff but it hasn't stopped me from ordering again and again.
