Awesome place. Now let's break down this 5 star rating: 1. All of the staff are friendly and professional. 2. The food (that I tried) tastes great. 3. Clean establishment with reasonable parking outside. 4. They serve beer & wine (yippee) 5. They were offering samples of pizza when I walked in the door (how cool is that?!) In addition to the above, their pizza crust is not too thick or thin. I enjoy pizza with a pillowy crust and I would consider theirs to be a happy medium between the super thick crust some shops make and the thin N.Y. Style I'm used to. Above all- they sell this bomb @%$ fruit infused lemonade. The flavor totally caught me off guard because I was expecting the typical fresh squeezed lemonade flavor when I took my first sip, but I was pleasantly surprised by the kick the green apple slices gave. All I can say is, go get you some ;-)

We ate here on a random night we were looking for something new to try. Placed my take out order after driving the, and the wait for our food was still pretty quick. The inside of the restaurant had a cool vibe, with the feel of a small family Italian joint. We will definitely come back to dine in. I was going to order the Italian sub, but ended up getting a Cuban sandwich, which was a special they had on the menu. I war nor disappointed, it was delicious! The deli meats tasted fresh. Every bite was perfectly crisp, with a great ratio of meat:cheese:toppings:bread. With how good the Cuban was, I can't wait to try the Italian next time. My wife had a turkey sub, which was just as good. We also had regular and sweet potato fries with our meals. The regular fries were good, but the sweet potato fries left a little to be desired. Overall great experience; we look forward to returning.

I ate here today and I liked the place over ask the menu is my style pig out junk type of place. My wife didn't think much of this place but she did like the chocolate eclair cup. And said she would want that any day any time. And she liked my streak pepperoni but she couldn't eat it side she is post wisdom teeth surgery. She eat get burger Abs mentioned that five guys is still better and that the pizza is nothing special in fact that costco pizza is just as good and a little better. I totally agree on the pizza it was nothing special good but if rather go to Costco which we had just came from and got it there but cheaper. My pepperoni steak was good.I told then to good the lettuce and tomatoes and add the fresh onions Abs that hit the spot. The burger I tried it really want nothing special but had I came in with the munchies from a night of drinking it would be the best burger ever. The lemonade was pretty good raised with fruit but u just taste the lemonade and none of the other fruit flavor. I like there potatoes wedges crispy even after we drove them home. The cashier guy and girl were nice. Abs the prices aren't that bad. I would come back to this place.

I can't get enough of their subs and lemonade. The bread is so soft and fresh. The lemonade is Heavenly. Their fruit punch is pretty amazing too. Both are infused with fresh fruit. They have a decent selection of craft beer and wines as well.

Wonderful subs. Honestly if I had to rank it would be up there at least top 2 (I do love some jersey mikes). VERY expensive though, two subs (even if they are large) should not be a 20 spot. Momma's deserts though are amazing...hope she makes the fall pumpkin frosting again - TO DIE FOR!!!! Again, do not let the extra money stop you from trying - between the fresh bread, lots of deli meat and cheese and what ever that extra zip they put in the lettuce it DELICIOUS!

I got the Philly Cheesesteak. It was good but not awesome. I also got chicken wings. It was dry. I ordered delivery from EAT24.com which was convenient. However my food arrived an hour later even though the email said it would take 30-40min. My food arrived cold and the driver stated she "got lost". I would not eat here again.

We ate here on a Friday night. Cozy low-key atmosphere with red-checker tabletops and a mix of tables and booths in the dining area. Very family-friendly, to include tv's showing ESPN and The Disney Channel in opposite corners of the dining room. The food was very good. We only ordered pizza (white), which was excellent. They also offer reasonably-priced bottles of wine to purchase with dinner. We had a $15 bottle of chianti, which was decent. I wish we had Bozzelli's in the Baltimore area for a family-friendly, informal (but not fast-food) Italian dining option. We will return when in the area.

Disappointed! For the regulars I am certain they know the routine but for a first timer the self service doesn't work well. I had to figure out where to get napkins, tableware, etc. Seems like someone could ask "First time here?" And then they would know to share this info. The food was ok. Friends that use to go there years ago raved about it but I guess it just isn't the same.

Who would have thought that in this little town, we would find such a delicious Italian deli? As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a homey vibe, pictures on the wall, cool bottled drinks in the fridge, and wine and special jams for sale. We lined up at the counter to decipher the menu of pizza, pastas, and subs. The written menu was a little confusing to order from and I didn't realize you could also pick bread and extra toppings/condiments until after I had ordered my prosciutto and mozzarella 8" sub. Luckily, the people were nice enough to change my bread to wheat. I also didn't notice the entire breakfast menu on the left wall - so many more choices! If you dine here and like to see all the options, I'd recommend asking for the printed menu so you don't miss anything. The sub itself was delicious. The prosciutto wasn't too salty as prosciutto often is and complemented the gooey melted mozzarella. There were also roasted red peppers in the sandwich though I probably would have preferred a few slices of tomato instead. All in all, a great sandwich, though a little pricey for $9. One of my friends was adventurous and ordered a large Hawaiian pizza for $10. Of course, pizza takes longer to prepare than sandwiches but as compensation for the extra wait, he received an extra drink, two slices of pie, and two cappuccino chocolate chip cookies, free of charge! That really impressed me. Bozzelli's, you've won another happy customer!

Want some of the best strip mall-like subs in Springfield? Go here. (I'm so sorry Malek's!) No matter what sub you get it will be a little greasy, somewhat messy, but a lot of good! I ordered carryout for them and everything was more than I expected. The 12 inch sub was stuffed to the brim with goodness. The fries were perfectly seasoned. The pizza---movie like in its cheesiness. The prices are on point, the service was fast, my order for three people was done in less than 15 minutes. I'd say this is a keeper.

The eggplant parm and the cheesesteak were quite good actually, but the unforgivable crime was continually messing up our order. In the end We settled for receiving the wrong order of fries, the seasoned fries (which were awful, they seem to have old bay on them) instead of our actual order of Curly fries which we sampled and would have been delicious... Do not get a delivery or a take out service, and if you do, make sure your order is right, their computer system and front desk ladies do not know what they are doing.

Recent red make-over looks more cohesive within the same layout. More pantry items include ("O'Yum!") Peach The' Iced Tea. Its been a year since last here, and the family spirit is still here. Sat down for the Lobster Roll, which came with paisley cut fries that give a loud snap! Seasoned and fried to perfection from crisp to tender textures in every fry. For you Europeans and 'downrange' veterans the .5 and 1.5 L bottles of the tea are here in small quantities. Call ahead, I snagged all the Peach. Suffer! The Lobster Roll bread is pillow soft and fresh with great chew. Lettuce, sauce, and spiced to say 'ciao' welcome to a sandwich that doesn't roll over and play dead. A couple big shakes of seasoning crown the meat. But,!i suggest blending it in to the mixed seafoods so the salt doesn't overpower the top bites. At just under $10, it's a lot to expect the expensive meats to be other than formed fish meat. So no surprise here. Every other aspect is great reason for great grub.It hit the spot and I still will stop in here for their truly incredible deli sandwiches, pastries, bottled ales, ciders, and sodas. Oh, and I still want to attend one of "Mama's" cooking demos.

Great pizza and sweet potato fries, oh and can't forget the lemonade fruit infused. Really enjoyed our lunch and the left over pizza was just as amazing the next day! Very friendly and professional staff, will definitely return.

No complaints! Went here for the first time this past Saturday evening. The atmostphere in the place is much more lively than it looks from the outside. It feels welcoming and home-y. The guy at the register was very nice and helpful. Pizza smelled soooo good, and we couldn't wait to eat it. And it definitely was delicious. They don't go light on the toppings, so you get what you pay for and the sizes were true to their names. I'd go back again!

Cyndy's Bottom Line: Great place for lunch if you want a sub or pizza. I took my friend here for lunch and was surprised to see a variety of items. Subs, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, salads, sides, and desserts too. I ordered the Senator IItalian cheeseburger sub with fries. The cheeseburger comes with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, mayo, oil and vinegar, I loved the soft grilled bun and the oil and vinegar flavor. The patty was definitely homemade and tasty. The fries were cut like steak fries and were golden brown. I would definitely return to try other items on their menu.

Passing through town and saw this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were NOT disappointed! Very cozy "old school" Italian feel with plenty of options for food, drinks and desserts. They use Boars Head cheeses (and meats I believe). Only the finest and your taste buds will agree!

My friend had eaten here previously and raved about how great the pizza was, so we went to Bozzelli's for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was empty. Eventually a family arrived for dinner but other than that it was a ghost town. The location is off the beaten path which probably does not help. Although, apparently it's very busy during lunch time. This is the type of restaurant where you order at the counter and then sit in the restaurant area, which is nicely decorated and quaint (the picture on the website was just uploaded on March 2013, but does not do the restaurant justice. It's much more nicely decorated and intimate than the picture indicates - where are the table cloths?) This time my friend said the cheese was not the same as when they previously ordered the sausage pizza. He checked with the staff and they said the cheese was the same. The pizza was a bit greasy, but still tasty. The one thing I found odd is that they do not make to-order salads. They have a few pre-made salads available in a refrigerated section. They also make subs and pasta to-order. Bozzelli's offers some really thoughtful for-sale items like chocolate wine, small sealed 8-oz shots of wine (I think they are called tulips or wine stacks), other wines - we took home a bottle of Candoni Pinot Noir as recommended by the staff, which turned out to be delicious. They also have a variety of sodas, homemade juices with fruit (berries, apples etc), and desserts in the refrigerated section. I would recommend having dinner here if you are in the mood for a relaxed night out in a non-pizza joint atmosphere.

Ate here tonight for a quick din. Got the spaghetti and meatballs. I was really hungry being I just got out the gym. I was in the area on errands and decided to just give this place a shot. I really wanted to love the pasta but the meatballs were just not up to par. No flavor, I had to constantly keep adding pepper and red pepper. Overall it was okay. I like that they used angel hair. And I like that they give you a little salad. Wait wasn't too long but again I was starving. Anyway, if there is ever a next time I'd prob try the pizza instead. Comfy vibe place overall but very out of the way for me. I was waiting for a package at the UPS store which is like half a mile down the road so.

Let me preface this review by saying that Bozzelli's doesn't hold a candle to The Italian Store, and don't see why anyone would compare the two. Now let me speak on the one item that Bozzelli's does well, their pepperoni steak and cheese. This sandwich is awesome. I'm sure if you removed the pepperoni, this would fall flat as an average steak and cheese, but I've yet to come by another place that offers this pepperoni and steak combination. These flavor profiles mix well and the quality of each meat stands out. Pricewise, Bozzelli's runs pretty steep at about $11 for a 12" sandwich. Nevertheless, I occasionally need to get my fix of this pepperoni steak and cheese goodness.

Well hello great subs!! Steak & cheese is bomb. Pizza is good. Chicken pesto is good. Sweet potato fries are good. Mac n cheese is good. Hamburgers are sooo good. This place is great!

This review is for their breakfast only so please, no hating.. I stopped in one day because this place is right around the corner from the office and I have heard good things about the place from co-workers and fellow Yelpers. I followed the directions from the Yelp app and drove in to Bozzelli's early one morning. I was a bit surprised at the prices, first of all. A vegetarian omelette for $8?? Along with a medium coffee, I spent $11. I'm pretty sure I can do much better at a nice sit down place for that price. In fact, I found a little divey deli who can hook me up with a veggie omelette with rice for only $4.60. It's a no-brainer. The fact that it was that much and it was unremarkable was disappointing. Perhaps it is better lunch experience but perusing the menu, there is not a whole lot of items on the menu for my reduced meat type of diet to eat.

I am a sandwich / sub connoisseur.. This place is by far the best I've had in some time. I'm obsessed with the Turkey and Havarti 8inch. Get it toasted with everything on it. It's beyond good. The fries are amazing too.. So glad I found a place like this close to work. Take my money!

While we have eaten here before and thought they were good, I HAD to give just 1 star in order to get everyone's attention. We have a son who has a tree nut allergy so he is very careful in what he orders to eat. So today he felt it safe to order the chicken parmesan, right? So, as there was no mention of tree nuts on the menu description he went ahead and ordered it "to go" and when he got home unwrapped the sandwich and all of a sudden started to get the symptoms of anaphylactic shock. Sure enough, the chicken parmesan comes with PINE NUTS and PESTO!! I place in caps so that all will know ahead of time who read this review as the deli won't tell you that they do this to sandwiches which normally do NOT come with PINE NUTS and PESTO. When the deli was called to inform them about the situation, they were indifferent, no compassion at all. And to think this happened the day before Christmas! The Emergency Room is no place to stay any time, least of all Christmas Eve for 24 hours (requiired by law when an epi pen is used). If you have ANY allergy, or are with anyone who has one, I would NOT recommend Bozzelli's at all. Best to go to some place safe that doesn't try to be "fancy" or "different" and actually cares about the health and life of their customers.

Another place in Springfield with delicious sandwiches and beers. Some of the food choices can be a bit pricey but it's worth the money. A surprise was the seasoned fries. They actually resemble steak fries that are twisted in shape. Even a small order of them was ample for two people. The sausage pizza was awesome as well. It puts some other pizza I've had to shame.

We only tried the Philly Cheese-steaks. They were okay...very little meat (not diced/sliced, but whole pieces--reminded me of well-done roast beef). The french fries were a little on the burnt side...

For northern Virginia, before there was subway there was Bozelli's. The best quality meats, fresh cheeses and baked bread are the signature characteristics of their sandwiches and subs. Bozelli's was doing cold subs and sandwiches WAYYY before Jered. A long time ago, when I was working a summer job in Lorton in the 80s, I used to get Bozelli's at their old location on Route 1. Back then the business was operated by a couple of Italian immigrants who knew their craft and eventually built a family icon that has now three locations: Springfield, Arlington and Ft. Belvoir. Today, even though the Bozelli brothers have pretty much handed the business down to the younger generation, the quality and service is still as good as it gets. I highy recommend the "Metro Sub" - it is the bomb. Whenever I go to this place I have to get this classic italian sub on fresh baked white bread that is fluffy and full of amazing flavor. The pepperoni steak & cheese is another mouth-watering Bozelli's classic that is a must for anybody looking to try a something a little different. If you want a great place for a subs that offer an excellent alternative to Subway, try this spot on the southern end of Alban road off of Backlick in Springfield.

Love this place. Never had a bad meal. I was here for lunch last week and I ordered the pesto chicken. They gave me chicken Fettuccinni instead. When I went up to the counter to inform the cashier, in 5 minutes I had my right order and she gave me the chicken Fettuccinni for free. It was a very nice gesture to cover a very minor inconvenience. You can tell the food is home made. Highly recommended.

This is a hidden gem in the Northern Virginia area because they have multiple locations and good quality food. I wouldn't boast and call it the best or greatest but that doesn't mean it's not "damn good". The atmosphere is also very welcoming and friendly just like their customer service. As for the prices, they're reasonable for anyone who is hungry and wants something that'll do more than just the job. I usually order for pick-up because the food is ready in usually about 15 minutes, so literally as soon as I get off the phone I'm already on my way and it's always ready. They have a good selection of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and they have a variety of subs, pasta or pizza to fit what you're in the mood for. My suggestions would be: + The Original Pepperoni & Cheesesteak w/ everything on it + extra hot peppers + The Big Casino Pizza + Spaghetti & Meatballs / Lasagna (Lasagna is only on Wednesdays)

For some reason Google Maps doesn't think you can make a left into this plaza from Backlick/Alban Rd, but you can. I've only tried the steak, pepperoni, and cheese, but it was quite good. The bread is good, certainly better than Subway, and the meat is decent enough. When I have a chance to try more of their options I'll try to write an update. I would probably give it four stars if it was bigger (finding a table during lunchtime can be tough) and more convenient to Ft Belvoir (they do have a location on post, but it doesn't seem to serve the full menu).

I love this place. I was never aware of it, before they moved to this location. I crave it every once in a while and I have to stop by for some pizza and dessert. I've always gotten their cheese pizza and it's pretty good. My favorite part of this place is the delicious desserts that they have. I'm always excited to see what homemade pies or desserts they have and always end up getting a slice. Their homemade desserts are awesome. Their cannoli is pretty good as well. They're friendly and their prices are reasonable, so I tend to eat here more than I should. It's not the best pizza in the area, but it's pretty good and the desserts are what keep making me come back.

It's easily my favorite deli in the NOVA area. They care about their customers, their products, and the word of mouth that comes with good pizza! I cant really get it all in here, but I'll try. The pizza here is top notch, with pepperonis that are the size of a small fist. Its as authentic as NY Street Pizza as I think you can get outside of NY. The subs here are amazing, and I really cant just make it up. Hot fresh pressed bread, peppers, quality ingredients, the works. I really think a lot of people hate on this place just to side with the Italian Store in Rosslyn, as if there was some mob backed deli war going on through internet review sites?!? Maybe I'm on to something here. They always have new and rotating stuff too. Like the NY Pretzel Roll sandwich, fresh squeezed juice, cakes, mini cupcakes, cheesecake, and God bless the Lou's Ice Tea (On Tap, no less). Last time I was at Bozzeli's I was chatting up the staff about a Pizza/Peperoni Roll idea, and you know what -they made the time to hear me out, and will actually give it a shot. Management is everything in the restaurant business, and Mike, the proprietor, is hands down one of the best I've had the pleasure to meet. They cater too - and have an impressive array of options at their disposal. They just got a beer and wine license here, so I really think Happy Hour is about to go down at the deli.

I work across the street from Bozzelli's & have been coming here for a while now. I usually stick with the pizza's or pasta's since they love to put marinara sauce on my turkey sandwich. It seems lite mayo got lost in translation and ended up being marinara sauce.. It's pretty tasty just stay away from the desserts since they're pretty dry & lack lots of flavor.

Reading the rave reviews, the hubby decided to stop by and pick up a steak and cheese sandwich. Upon our first bite we KNEW it wasn't steak and cheese, it was roast beef! I insisted they gave my husband the wrong order. After all, how could they have four stars and have the audacity to pass roast beef off as STEAK AND CHEESE?! And of course--how could my fellow Yelpers not know the difference between the two?! The next morning we decided to call Bozzellis and lo and behold, the guy on the phone tells me it wasn't a mistake, they do in fact use roast beef for their steak and cheese sandwich. Ummm...I'm sorry but that is PATHETIC!! I'm not asking for anything fancy like a filet mignon, just a steak and cheese, there shouldn't be any substitutions for that! The roast beef sandwich they gave me wasn't anything special, it was basically a hot roast beef sandwich from Subway but costing a bit more. I should've listened to the other reviewer who mentioned how they use corned beef instead of pastrami. That speaks volumes. I'm starting to lose hope in Yelp reviews.

Rode the Bozelli's roller coaster last night ... Ordered the medium Steak and Cheese and Prosciutto/Moz/Red Peppers subs. Right off the bat I was turned off by the price. When I picked up the subs ... I was downright pissed. "I paid almost $9 a sub for this" were my first thoughts. The subs were small man, real small, especially for the price paid. Well, when we got home, we were pleasantly surprised. Both were very good. The S&C was light on the cheese, but the meat was very lean and flavorful. The Prosciutto was real, real salty, but it's somewhat expected with a cured meat like this, still real good. After the meal, my feelings were, despite being real good, not worth the almost $9. But again, they were good. I'm sure everyone hates the Italian Store comparison, but you literally get three times the amount of meat there and the price is the same and the bread at the Italian Store is also better.

This has become a family tradition. Whenever my family comes up from NC we have to get the Steak Pepperoni & Cheese. We have been eating that sub for over 20 years and just started trying the other items on the menu and have not been dissappointed. The White and Vegetarian are excellent. The Classic Italian sub is also a new favorite. That's as far as I have made it on the menu since it all tastes so good.

Italian "Senator" cheeseburger was phenomenal. The food was served quickly and hot off the grill. Mina provided superb service. We'll be back!

This place knows how to make a great lunch sandwich. I was visiting a customer yesterday in the area and ordered this place for their lunch and I loved this place. Try the Turkey and Havarti with peppers and onions and have them make it a hot sandwich. Wow it was great!

It's all about the toasted bread for the subs here. Toasted just right it put the 3 sandwiches I've had over the top.

This has been my favorite sandwich place since I moved to the DC area.. When I worked close by, I went there at least weekly for lunch. Everything I have tried is delicious, but I always end up back at the steak and cheese (with or without pepperoni). The bread is probably the most important thing in a sandwich to me and its what makes this place so good. Also make sure to order the mini fries with it, there cheap and delicious steak fries! There is a decent amount of seating, but definitely fills up fast during lunch. I am sad however, that I moved and changed job locations and their only other location is in Crystal City! :(

I stopped here for breakfast one morning... The omlet I had from there was pretty good... I haven't had the chance to try their subs... but I'm sure i'll go back for one!

So the 2nd time around wasn't the same orgasmic explosion of deliciousness I had the first time. I think I got the steak sandwich. It was just ok. My sandwich was soggy but that could be due to the fact we got it to go instead of eating there. I do remember the pastrami sandwich being messy but still really good. I guess I need to try it a third time to make sure the first wasn't just a fluke. Still good but recommend eating there so your sandwich isn't a soggy mess by the time you get back to your desk.

The best deli sandwiches your mouth will ever have. EVER! This is where you want to cater sandwiches from for a big party - there's no way anyone can be disappointed. I don't know what it is but something about these sandwiches are just so yum. Maybe it's their bread - super soft but holds that roast beef together and smells so good. Mmmm good smelling and good tasting bread. All the toppings (lettuce, onions, etc.) all taste super fresh, nothing is ever soggy, wet, or moldy. Service is always friendly and I love that they are patient with me while I take forever and a day to decide what I want (even though it's almost always the roast beef.) I feel like it takes them a little too long to make a sandwich but it is most definitely worth the wait.

My husband and I recently moved to the Springfield area and discovered this gem of a sandwich/pizza joint. It's located in a random shopping strip just down the street from where we live. Now that I know about it though, wherever we may move in the future, I will definitely keep this in our list of cheap dining-out options. Service has always been fast and friendly. You order at the front and can dine-in or carry-out (or call ahead and pick-up). They also deliver, which is really convenient when you're having a party and want good pizza that doesn't taste like papa johns/dominos/pizza hut (blech). Some of our favorites: NY Pretzel Roll - It's not on their regular menu, but it's listed as a special on the chalkboard. You should definitely ask about it if you've never had a pretzel roll before. It's like a sandwich inside a soft pretzel. One point of criticism - I recently dined-in and ordered this sandwich. Instead of making it to order, they handed me one that was already ready to go. Granted it was a very busy time as it was a Friday during lunch, so I assume it was fairly freshly made, but there's just something better about a sandwich that is "made to order." I was really hungry and I appreciated the fact that I got my sandwich immediately, but in hindsight, I would have preferred to wait for them to make me a fresh one. Sweet Potato Fries - Almost always delicious, it comes with special seasoning that eliminates the need for ketchup or other condiment. I would recommend not calling ahead and pre-ordering these, because the hot & freshness of these certainly makes a big difference, as with most fries. Steak and Cheese - The steak is a little different than what you normally expect. I feel like it is more similar to roast beef, but nonetheless, it's still delicious and actually tastes healthier, if it's possible for a steak and cheese to be "healthy." Turkey & Havarti Cheese - This cold sub is very, very tasty. Get it with everything, and it's like a party in your mouth. The red pepper relish is the best. It's not even comparable to anything at Subway. For whatever reason, whenever Subway puts red pepper relish on my sandwiches, it makes the bread soggy if you don't eat it fast enough. That is not the case with this sub. Metro Classic Italian - This sub is so delicious. It comes cold, but if you prefer it hot, just request that when you order. I definitely prefer the bread warm and cheese melted on my Italians. Pizza - The quality of the dough, cheese, and sauce make this menu item one of our favorites. We especially like the combination of banana pepper and onions. The only downside to this place is that they close fairly early. The latest they are open is 8pm which is at least an hour earlier than the time we usually eat dinner during the week. But that makes Bozzellis's a prime lunch or weekend option for us.

So glad I don't live in Springfield because if I did...man I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Their version of a chicken cheese steak sandwiches were PURE heaven! The marinated mushrooms...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The staff were so sweet, cute, and kind. If I'm ever in the area - I will stop by!

Good sandwich place, but that's what it is, not a deli (in my humble opinion). It has a good menu of italian classics and typical grill joint food. with some grab and go italian goodies. but i didnt see any meat or fresh bread, salads, pickles etc. That said, The food was quite good. Had the eggplant parm sub. i was a little distracted bc it wasnt what I expected (but that's bc im always expecting what I got from my favorite place back home) but after my initial disappointment wore off and I got over myself, i realized it was actually a delicious sub - So well done! hubby liked the metro italian and my little one thrashed some wings. we spent over $50 for us and two small kids so a bit much for a deli. BUT, only our first time and the food was good so we will give it another shot im sure. Dang! i forgot to get the stuffed pretzel. didnt see it on the menu board. so i will have to go back just for that!

They make a great sub, pretty much the bottom line. I'd like to call it a hoagie, but they cut the bread wrong. A hoagie involves slicing the bread maybe 90% of the way through so you have a fold that allows you to stuff the sandwich. A sub involves a 100% cut through, which is what this place offers. Meat is high quality, vegetables are fresh, drink selection is good (beyond the fountain drinks) and they routinely offer free samples of food and drinks. Price is a tad bit higher than Subway, but it is justified considering the food is better quality. This is the best meat-on-bread (what I call a hoagie, what others call sub or the sort) I've had in this area.

I was excited to try this out after reading so many reviews. Touted as "The Italian Store of Springfield" and the average 4 plus star review of Bozellis was reason enough to check it out and have such high expectations. I went this past weeknd and got the large turkey and cheese all the way minus the mayo. My first impressions of the sub were pretty good. Sandwhich was big and looked fresh. After opening it up I was dissapointed as they skimped out on the hot pepper topping, which looked like red relish and serious was a dab in the middle of the sandwhich. They also skimped out on the cheese, 2 peices on this what had to be a foot long. Meh. I dont' know if they make their bread or not but I wasn't impressed. I half wonder if they just buy it from the local Costco. It was an unimpressive soft roll. It would be a lot better if it was on a hard roll or at least toasted. The one thing the sandwhich had going for it was the turkey. They gave a decent amount but I would have preferred more. But it was tasty and probably the only thing close to being on par with the Italian Store. Overall Bozelli's was a huge let down for me. I much prefer Italian Store which is still worth the far drive. I give this place a 2, for now.

Ah, Bozzelli's.. We meet again. I once knew you when you were on RT 1 in Lorton but was too young to be a regular, but ate there once in a while. This is my first visit to the new location which i understand has been there for quite some time, I guess i just never made it back over. After reading all the reviews on here, I decided to pay Bozzelli's a visit and give their Pepperoni Steak and Cheese a try. WOW! Thats the first thought that uttered from my mind as i sat in this nice, welcoming establishment. Within my first bite it was as if i got kicked right in the face similar to Vitor Belfort's run in with Anderson Silva this past weekend on the UFC PPV. Seriously. I don't recall ever eating a sub or any sandwich for that matter that just commanded my attention in the middle of the first bite. Sure we've all had those great sanwiches that we remember for a long time to come, but this one...this one was different. We get a ringside seat at what happens when you mix an Italian style sub in with a traditional Steak and Cheese. All of the pertinent key players are involved here with the appropriate toppings, seasonings, spices, etc for the Italian side and all the great meat you learn to love on a Steak and Cheese. Whats the X factor? Its the pepperoni. The combination of well proportioned Steak/Pepperoni ratio will do crazy things to your sense of taste. My first thought of Pepperoni with Steak and Cheese was WTF? Bozelli's answered that pre-conceived notion with a sandwich that i won't only remember for a long time to come, but a sandwich that i will feel more comfortable with dropping 10 bucks on. Get the large. You won't be sorry. More than enough to fill you up. If you even remotely love italian subs and/or steak and cheese and you haven't dove in to this incredible creation, you should be thrown in jail! And to the sub, you greasy, flavorful, meaty, epic, son of a b***h... we shall meet again! BRING IT!

4.25 stars. The deli is nice and clean with a small dining area. I had the special that day - a pulled pork sandwich (with cole slaw), which was absolutely delicious. It was just as good as the pulled pork sandwich I get at Mike's American Grill, except at less than half the price. Awesome!

Great friendly service, tasty food at decent prices. This place so totally rocks!!!! I started this review a while ago, I've been to Bozzelli's a lot since then and I've just been more and more impressed. The Service is always awesome, the food is always outstanding. they've added breakfast since then and that is amazing as well.

Four words: Pepperoni Steak and Cheese. There's no need to try anything else here (not because the other food is bad, but this sandwich is amazing!). I was introduced to Bozelli's by my dad about ten years ago when they were still located off of route one in Lorton. They have since moved to a shopping center, but the quality of that sub hasn't changed. They pile the meat thick- just like it should be. The pepperoni is firm and full of flavor, and the steak is tender- not chewy! If you wait more than 30 seconds to eat the sub after they deliver it to you, it becomes a melty blob of meat, cheese, peppers, and grease. Please understand that this is a good thing. One bite and you'll be hooked! The family there is also very nice. The young girl at the cash register is always enjoyable to talk to. I highly recommend Bozzeli's!

Bozzelli's is so good, we've eaten there twice this week! On our first trip, my mom and I decided to split the large metro Italian but we wanted different toppings. The young lady taking our order was considerate enough to take notes on what we each wanted on our respective half and then made sure which half was which when the order is ready. The large sub was plenty big enough for 2 people for lunch with a bag of chips. Tonight, I had a medium Italian sausage sub. It was huge and delicious! I normally don't like many Italian sausages because they are more sweet than spicy, but this one was a perfect mix! I also tasted the pepperoni steak and cheese and thought it was pretty good as well. The restaurant is very family friendly inside, with games for kids on the tables and a surprisingly wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The staff is very helpful and good at explaining their different menu items. The location is the only downfall I can see thus far; I wish I had found this place sooner! They also offer cooking classes, which I plan to attend in the future.

Gotta say, really upset that I missed out on this place for 5 years before going in. As a Philly transplant I have become skeptical of all places that purport to be an Italian Deli and sell cheesesteaks and pizza. Fear not, Bozelli's is the real deal! Their take on what it is to be an Italian Deli is different than Taylor's or the Italian Store and that's what make them great. They do their sandwiches their way, and their takes on the hoagie, cheeseteak, and other classic deli and pizza joint items knock the ball out of the park. (Sweet Potato Fries also Awesome) The first key point is their rolls, slightly toasted they give the sandwiches an authentic north east flavor. As anyone here in northern VA will tell you bread is the biggest hassle and if you get that right you got half the battle won. As for the meat and cheeses, everything is super fresh and super authentic. This is a family business and attention is paid to everything you get. I have to say I'm a big fan of their peperoni steak and cheese (It's a cheesesteak guys - typing steak and cheese hurts my brain!) as well as their roast beef and cubano. Just great stuff. For those looking for that streetcorner deli feel from up north, Bozzelli's is the place to go, and go often.

The Springfield suburbs answer to the Italian Store. The subs here are delicious and enormous - the 12" bears no resemblance to the kind of footlong you'd find at a lesser sandwich shop. Packed with a ton of meat, nice soft roll, highly recommended. Especilaly love the Cuban, Pastrami and Turkey & Ham. Also great steak fries, which are surprisingly hard to find around here. Three other things: in my experience service has always exceptionally friendly. The pizza, which acceptable, is a little on the greasy side and not something I'd make a special trip for. Finally, the fact that they are closed on Sundays, which laudable, has been the source of sadness for me during many NFL games.

Outstanding - and part of the burgeoning SRS - Springfield Restaurant Scene. We're up to 2 great places now (see: El Paso). Move over U Street! (Damn, the first rule of SRS is don't talk about SRS - now I'm screwed) But seriously, the Italian Sandwiches are fantastic (the kids call them "subs" I believe) and the pizza is very underrated. I don't want to overstate how good the Hot Pastrami Sandwich is, but during the meal I asked the sandwich where it went to school, if we could hang out after our meal, and if we could get an apartment together when this is all over. I then apologized for coming on too strong and the sandwich asked if we could just be friends. Not too hard to find, just follow the wonderfully named Backlick Rd. Yes, Backlick. Now you'll have that word in your head all day. You're welcome!

Amazing food... LOVE IT. From their "Original" Pepperoni Steak and Cheese and the Turkey Club to their fresh-made lemonade, cakes, and other assorted deserts - everything here tastes great. I eat here at least once a week for lunch. My favorite is the Turkey Club sandwich - the best I've had in DC. I can't tell if it's the fresh lettuce and tomatoes, amazing bread, delicious turkey, or the love that goes into preparing each sandiwch, but the Turkey club is DELICIOUS. The Deli is run by a delightful brother and sister that pride themselves on carrying on the family tradition of great food, great prices, and great service. The deli has daily specials that include homemade spaghetti and lasagna -yumm. Their pizzas are also delicious. Note: My coworkers recommend not getting the largest size for pizzas that contain a lot of vegetables as the center tends to get mushy from veggie moisture. Do yourself a favor and check out Bozzelli's!

This place was a welcome find, after suffering trough the same Korean, Chinese, Subway and other standard lunch fare. You can get a "real" italian cold cut sandwich here, with raw onions and hot peppers. This is a sandwich that changed a tough week at work to something much better. It looks like Grandma is still working with her boys to make homemade sweets for the bakery case out front including tiramisu, sweet italian breads etc. They also do catering.

Bozzelli's is one of my favorite deli's. I used to go all the time when I lived very close but now I only go whenever I am in the area. I've always loved their subs, especially the bread. However, I went by yesterday and either they changed their bread or it was an off day because it was very dry. I'm going to have to check it out again because their subs can't be beat. Most of my family loves the Metro but I always go with a simple ham and cheese sub. I love their sweet potato fries too.

If you enjoy a good sub with perfect bread, RUN, DONT WALK to your nearest Bozzelli's!! The metro classic sub has me hooked, with its spread of mouth-watering hot peppers. The peppers are even better than Potbelly's. The desserts steal the show. I'm not a cannoli person but my jaw almost fell off when I took my first bite. Try the lemon cake! So moist, just the right amount of icing, and a large portion size make this a must!

FOOD: An excellent alternative to Subway in the area. Their sandwiches are very good. I usually get the prosciutto or pastrami. Their lasagna is a good size portion, maybe not for lunch since all that carbs will put you in a food coma. They also have fruit punch, iced tea and lemonade with some fresh fruit in it. Where else has that around here? DECOR: Simple and with an easy to read menu. SERVICE: Fairly quick for made to order sandwiches. COST: A little higher than Subways, but well worth it in quality.

I've never had a better sub than the Pepperoni, Steak and Cheese from Bozzelli's. They're very generous with the meat and the bread is just right - not too hard or dry. Their pizza is made to order as well, so it tastes fresh every time you get it. Way better than Papa John's or anything like that. The desserts are great too! My favorite is the blondie bar, which Mrs. Bozzelli makes herself!

I love this place. My usual go to is their Seafood Salad Sub with Hot peppers. Today I got out of my box and ordered something different. "the Original" steak pepperoni and cheese with Italian dressing and mayo. Beautiful! The sandwiches are great and the staff is very friendly. I like that on top of home made sandwiches they also have other treats like potato and macaroni salad great looking desserts and pickled garlic! This is definitely the best sandwich shop in Springfield.

Small menu but all expertly and freshly made to order. Food is quite tasty but definitely quite heavy and will sit with you for the rest of the day. Prices are reasonable and the staff are quick and efficient. If you are ordering pizza make sure you call ahead.

Oh. My. Gawd. I was so not expecting this level of complete deliciosity when I went here. Got the Groupon and had to pick up a package at UPS across the street, so decided to eat dinner on the way. The server, finding out it was our first time, gave us complementary peppers stuffed with prosciutto. Everything from the Reuben to the muffalatta to the sweet potato fries to the red velvet cheesecake were a complete taste of heaven in my mouth. We will be going again. And again. And again.

The sandwiches are dynamite! I have had the Metro, classic and the prosciutto with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. Each time I go to Bozzelli's I get excellent sandwiches and service. For big orders I highly recommend faxing your order, and they even write the names on the subs!

Yum! Italian Deli - I totally get what all the fuss is about now. Costco trips will now include a stop here for a sandwich. I'm going to be having cravings for their hot peppers. The meatball sandwich was perfect and had my kids asking for more!

Not sure if I got the wrong thing or if everyone else has just never had a real Italian sandwich... My pastrami and provolone was really boring and my toss salad was just a pile of the lettuce shreads that are used on the sandwichs with a few assorted veggies on top. The place is charming enough and perhaps deserves kudos for being better than any fast food alternatives, but it's not worth any travel for a sandwich overly similar to potbellys.

i am surprised, but perhaps i shouldn't be, that i am the first person (because it's in the middle of nowhere ville) to review this joint. this is a nice little pseudo italian american deli in the wasteland of springfield va. they have pretty (darn) good subs and pizza and fries that are seasoned, well.... just right. they have some GIANT sized drinks of i-don't-know-whats (because i've never tried them) of the color of red, yellow, and beige. yes, they do have salads.... some are quiet large. if you are around this way around lunchtime, then do come in - it's a lot better than chain crap. oh yes - they have 2 lines when you come in.... one to order and one to pay (and pick up orders). just follow the signs, take a number and things will be allright.

I was really looking forward to Bozzellis. I love a nice meaty sandwich. I love a nice '70s era Italian place. Judging by the reviews, I was looking forward to at least a decent meal. Instead, I got a fairly mediocre airport sandwich in an authentic stripmall atmosphere. Based on the glowing reviews, I ordered the pepperoni cheesesteak. Maybe I'm just used to shredded ribeye in my steak & cheeses, but this was just horrible. D-Grade Arby's pressed beef lunchmeat product. This isn't even the real roast beef like they have at Roy Rogers. I guess the pepperoni is there to distract from the horrible beef product's lack of flavor. Fortunately, they skimped on the beef and the pepperoni, so it wasn't nearly as hellish had it been overstuffed. All served on a generic Harvest Pride roll. Anyone who's raving about this sandwich needs to try ANY Chinese carryout that offers steak & cheese sandwiches. For the same price as a small at Bozzellis, you can get a LARGE, stuffed with real shredded ribeye, seasoned with salt and pepper, and not grey lunchmeat or Steak Ums. Highly recommend heading up the road to Delia's in Springfield for a decent sandwich, or indeed any place but Bozzelli's.

I wish there is a way to give it 3.5 stars. Limited by Yelp's rating capability, I'm giving it a 3 star, but it's really 3.5 in my grading system. My co-workers give it two thumbs up. I tried their Wednesday special of Lasagna which comes with a side of salad and garlic bread for $8.39 including tax. The lasagna is fairly large. It completely fills up the standard square styrofoam container (7x7 in?). The side salad is chopped/shredded with ranch dressing on the top. I like the shredded texture. Their dressing is tasty. Considering that majority of the restaurants do not wash their lettuce, I'm led to believe that this place actually washes their lettuce because there was a collection of very watered down dressing on the bottom of the container when I was done with the salad. The dressing that was poured on top of the salad was not watered down. The lasagna is not as sweet as those frozen ones I'm used to. The meat sauce is on the tasty side, but I wouldn't give it two thumbs up. The pasta portion of the lasagna was too soggy and soft for my taste. Garlic bread was more buttery than garlicky, but still good. I'm eager to try out their cold subs next time.

I'm a long time Bozzelli patron.. I've been going to them for subs when they had a location on Telegraph road and another off Backlick road. I usually get a turkey sub or the cliff's choice. They have another location on base at Ft. Belvior but I always see military folks at this location. Usually packed during the lunch rush!

I grew up eating Bozzelli's and it's truly a deliciously unique deli. I moved to New York City a few years ago and I always say that we have EVERYTHING here, except a good Italian deli like Bozzelli's. I stop there every time I am in the area even if I'm not hungry. I always get the steak and cheese with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and hot peppers on half (because I love the subs both with and without hot peppers and can never decide which to get!). Every now and then I get mushrooms. Every time I get a delicious fresh sub that is FULL of flavor. The staff is wonderful and they are pleasant every time I see them. Bozzelli's... if you're reading this... PLEASE expand and open a location in NYC!! I miss you!!!!

Some of the best deli sandwiches around. I have been going here for years, and my only complaint is they keep raising their prices. $10 for a small tuna sub, small bag of chips and fountain soda is a bit high in my opinion.

  • Phu V.

Had "the original" today and was pretty underwhelmed. The "steak" was more like roast beef and it wasn't good roast beef at that (it was hard not tender and had the consistency of a thick piece of hard pepperoni). Maybe their other sandwiches are better but I can't say I'm impressed so far.

Well after years of hearing how good this place is I finally tried it. Decent pizza and italian sub, but the steak and cheese is probably the best around.

  • Cyndy K.

  • Angel W.

  • Todd K.

BOZZELLI'S! My sister and I's favorite Italian Deli. Their sub sandwiches are PACKED with goodness. Quite authentic. Fresh Italian desserts incl. canolli.

I went back today (not during a mid-week lunch rush) and had an amazing chicken cheese steak. Service was great and the food was delicious. And my sister had the pepperoni cheese steak that she described as "orgasmic."

Great food and fast service! If you are in the area and you are looking for a great place for lunch, Bozzelli's is the place. Their Subs are exceptional, and the one time I had their salad, it was made with fresh ingredients and it was HUGE!
