By far the best deal for lunch in downtown. I went with my mom while she was visiting Roanoke. It was packed with people waiting for takeout, but we found an open booth. Lunch is clearly a busy time for them, so don't expect personalized service. I didn't mind that - everyone was friendly enough. We both ordered sandwiches. I got the Monte Cristo with fries. It was great and (with tax) only $5. The total bill for two people (again tax included) was $10, and we left full. I'm not sure you can find that anywhere else in downtown Roanoke. I will be back.

Really good breakfast. I had the feta omelet with potatoes and a pancake. The omelet and potatoes were really good. I probably wouldn't order pancakes there because I am a syrup snob and didn't like theirs. I look forward to trying Paul's for lunch.

Paul's offers one of the best lunch deals in Downtown Roanoke with their $5 salads, which are all huge and delicious. I highly recommend the Father Nick's Salad (which comes with a little of everything - including bacon and chicken) or the Cyprus Salad, which has sliced gyro meat. The house dressing is similar to an Italian dressing and it pairs great with any of the salads, and the side of warm pita bread is delicious, especially when dipped in the dressing. This is one of the true hidden gems that locals love in Downtown Roanoke.

One of my favorite lunch spots. Quick, good and cheap. They are always so friendly, and they treat you like family.

I love Paul's! I took my mom there while she was in town. They make you feel like family. We both ordered the chicken on skewers meal ( I can't remember what it's called). It came with a Greek salad and fries and pita. We asked for tsaziki (spelling?)sauce on the side and they didn't charge us. The warm pita with the tsaziki sauce was so delicious. I would go there just for that. The meal was huge for only around 7 bucks. The only downside is that they don't take cards... Which is why I'm sure their prices are great!

So, after checking out Yelp writeups on breakfast places in Roanoke, we decided to go by Tudor's Biscuit World and check it out - too late - sign said it was permanently closed on 14 Sep 2012. Another place with positive writeups was Pauls. Y'know that place you go to and nothing is terrible, but a lot is below average? That's Pauls. Biscuits were nearly cool, grits were barely warm, sausage showed links on the menu, but were patties (and ugh), eggs sunnyside were OK. Sausage biscuit was simply one piece of the same pattie sausage served with the breakfast plate (2 pieces). Same nearly cold biscuit - at about $1.70, McDonald's is a FAR better choice. And, finally - coffee so thin that a single container of packaged liquid creamer turned a full cup nearly the color of milk. Net effect of all of this is a poor rating - BTW, service was very nice and efficient.

Good lunch place. It's pretty much your standard Greek diner. I tried the Nick's salad which had tuna, bacon, and a few other varieties of lunch meat. It was pretty good and what I liked best was that they give you the entire bottle of dressing. I hate tiny cups of dressing and yes, I am particular about my salad to dressing ratios. My friend had the breakfast burger which was egg and bacon on a burger. He said it was good. I need to come back and try the gyros. Service was good. Unfortunately only breakfast and lunch.

Outstanding Gyros! We wish it was open for dinner. There are several Mediterranean choices in the area and without a doubt Paul's has the best Gyros! Also their greek salad is amazing, as is their baklava. We haven't tried any of their American choices because for us, going to Paul's mean getting Gyros!
