Three visits now to this location in the last few weeks while traveling. Each time the servers greeted us quickly, checked back often and provided numerous refills. Food was typical of the items I have received at other locations; nothing groundbreaking but good staple food.

Cracker Barrel broke my boyfriend. He received a gift card there for Christmas so today we went for breakfast. It was pretty busy so we had a short wait before being seated, but nothing too terribly bad. Once seated we were quickly asked our order, standard two eggs and fixings for me and country fried steak for him. Everything was going fine until the food arrived. Not only was everything bland, it was bland to a surrealist nightmare level bland. It wasn't even salty, it was just nothing. Since leaving he hasn't stopped talking about it. Even Simple things like eggs that basically always taste the same were just devoid of any taste at all. Ultimately I have to give them two stars because to their credit, it didn't taste bad, it just didn't taste anything.

I forgot to give it five stars on my review. Read my check-in more info. After I eat this food - I'm gonna sit on one of those rocking chairs in front & go to sleep.

Breakfast this morning ... I haven't been there in over 10 yrs... And funny thing.. It hasn't changed at all.. The atmosphere is the same with all the nick nacks and junk on the walls, but that's their thing.. Most important thing was food and service were great, well.. Almost evrything was... We both got scrambled eggs w/cheese, grits, and a biscuit. I got that plus bacon, he had ham... And we shared a plate of pancakes... Evrything was good except for the grits... They were watery.. We tried to doctor them up with some butter, pepper, even that stuff you put on biscuits... Nothing helped.. Our actress was on point.. And we even got a visit from someone I assume was the manager wearing some sort of microphone asking how everything was.... Service - was great... Just enough attention without being worrisome Food - overall was great Prices - were surprisingly reasonable. Would I refer anyone - absolutely Will I go back - definitly.. Have to take the rest of the fam now.

The food is always the same no matter what the location. I just wish they would open some in California. Simple country style food that is good.

Came here not too long ago and must've hit a new wave of trainees. It was a less than stellar experience. Put it this way: the stars in this review are for the biscuits alone, and not much else. A lady friend and I decided to give Cracker Barrel a chance since we had both been to ones elsewhere and wanted to give this Richmond-proximate location a try. We came in and waited for a bit before we were greeted/seated. It wasn't at all busy, despite being a holiday. Being a server, it's second-nature to be able to tell when staff members are new, and I sensed that a TON of those here were not only new, though they also clearly did not want to be here. Our server made appearances only occasionally, and refills/requests took a good 10 minutes each time to be brought to fruition. The patrons at other tables were having similar problems, and the manager was getting quite a workout having to go to nearly every table to address issues. As for the food, it was quite good. Portions aren't too great, though this is the kind of place you go to for the "homey" feel it gives you rather than to get full. I could spend an hour describing how amazing their biscuits are, though I'll spare you since I'm sure you have better things to do than read that. Abbreviated version: eat them, ask for more, get some to go. Parking is ample/easy and paying your bill is a simple matter as well. Stupidly, Cracker Barrel has a policy that they do not issue coupons (as if I needed another reason not to come here), so don't expect any great deals here. My advice? Order biscuits to go and leave, feeling confident you avoided a service catastrophe of biblical proportions. Overall: 2.0 stars --------- Pros: - The biscuits are worth the pain, they're that amazing. - The food is generally good and flavorful. - Ambiance is nice and generally quiet. - Parking is easy. Cons: - Service is atrocious, some of the worst I've had in the Richmond area. I don't mind new staff, though new staff members who don't care about your experience should not work in the service industry. - Food value isn't great. - The "no coupon" policy kills this place for any deal seeker. - When the manager has to come to LITERALLY every table to apologize for how things are going, you know this is a place best avoided.

Cracker Barrel is always one of my go-to favorite places to eat. To me, they have just about everything I could ever want. I've had subpar Cracker Barrel before, but the Laburnum location is consistently good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My favorites range anywhere from the fried catfish dinner to the classic cheeseburger to the old timer's breakfast. The service is usually very good and if they mess anything up, they usually over-compensate (i.e. forgot to bring biscuits, brought one extra). The biscuits with apple butter are a must if you have never had them. My favorite sides are the turnip greens, mashed potatoes, green beans, macaroni and cheese, and baked apples. Anyways, I think the Laburnum location is special because it is always good, always fast, and just a reliable place to go and eat. Try the Turkey and Dressing special on Thursdays or the Boneless Fried Chicken special on Sundays.

Great spot for breakfast with a friend. The food is always prompt and consistent. Check out the store for great stocking stuffers at a good price.

Seated quickly, waitress was super polite and helpful. Scrambled eggs were not scrambled, bacon was good, oatmeal so so. Fried apples were delicious.

I've been meaning to write this review since I went to Virgina over the summer. The only thing I enjoyed about CB was the opportunity it afforded me to enjoy time with my family. This food is seriously the pits. Misses the mark. It's all bland and underwhelming. I would never eat here again. I believe I had the grilled porkchop, which was just flavorless and nothing like I expected, and a country veggie plate of 4 gross vegetables. My girls had kids meals and at the end of dinner, almost all their food was still on their plates. Huge disappointment.

I'm a big fan of this Cracker Barrel. The food is always delicious, especially their biscuits and sawmill gravy. I'm obsessed. Decent prices and usually good service. Jonathan is by far the best waiter. If it's cold out, sit near the fire and when you're done eating, do what I do and browse around the cool store.

Loved Kimberly! She was among the best waitresses I've had in my lifetime! The food was consistent with the caliber of Cracker Barrel that I've always been used to. Even at 7 on a Saturday night, my group of 5 was seated promptly. Definitely recommend.
