We visited Sedona Tap house last week for lunch and really enjoyed it.. I my wife really likes the steak salad. I ordered the salmon salad and it was very tasty.. the service was perfect. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather.. Jesse and dad enjoyed their Cuban sandwich.. and mom liked her shrimp sandwich.. We were very happy with the food and service.. At $14 I thought the price was a little high for me to eat there every day for lunch.. I would suggest that they add some lower cost salads to their lunch menu if they want our group to enjoy lunch there more than occasionally..

Sedona is the type of bar where you have a first date. It's the type of place you take your boss or clients for a business lunch or just a place to kick it after work. It's a little more upscale and a little more pricey than the typical bars in Midlothian, and given its location (Westchester Commons), it sort of sticks out amongst the conglomerate chains in this shopping center. That being said, it's all very good. As with any bar or "tap house", the main focus is beer. I believe they have about 15-20 drafts and over 100 bottled selections to choose from, ranging from Lagers to IPAs to Stouts. Personally, I'm not much of a drinker, but they will let you sample anything before making a purchase. The food is quite good as well, namely the sliders and sandwich offerings. If you're in town, check it out. It's a little pricey, but well worth your time and money. B+

I remember when the signage wasn't even up om this place. I remember when the mall hadn't even existed yet. I watched Sedona riiise from the ashes- Okay, gettin to the point- I've watched Sedona grow, from the beginning. It was so exciting to see such a place open on this side of the river! Have you seen their beer menu?! Good grief! The interior was bougie, the staff was friendly, and best of all, the owner was on site enough times for me to realize, this here restaurant was the real deal. The food was good even back then, and although it was smaller, they had a patio and a BEAUTIFUL bar. I loved coming here. Then I focused on the city and didn't have much of a chance to be at this restaurant until my work brought my focus back to the southside. To celebrate with my work folks, I chose here for a big group. About 14 people showed and we were given the back room. I called ahead and then check in ahead and was able to get tables in about 45 minutes. The back room expansion was brilliant! The $6 steak is affordable and quality for the price, the pasta dishes were excellent, the flatbreads were good, and the decor- oh, so gorgeous! The service, however, was a little wonky. I understand 14 is a lot of people, but the waitress didn't seem to have much experience and I was surprised the hostess hadn't tapped a more experienced waitress for a larger group. First, the waitress didn't go down the line to take drink orders. She passed right by me and 2 other people and left to go to the main room. She did it again when it came to putting in our appetizer orders, skipped some, then came back and randomly picked a few more people to take their orders. She did this a third time when it came to putting in our dinner orders but this time, I told her that everyone would be putting in their orders so GO DOWN THE LINE. I wasn't rude, I just clarified the need to go all the way down the line. And she did. Finally. Then our food orders came, and boy, the orders came out faster than I thought food come out for a party of 14. Some ordered apps, flatbreads, steaks, so there all sorts of dishes but the kitchen was fast! However, the kitchn should do a better job of making sure they get their orders right. The servers came out saying one was well done when in fact, it was medium rare. Another person's steak was to be medium but was basically well done. I'd def come back, but perhaps I won't be here with a big group. Kudos to Sedona for charity work too!

The food was pretty good. I had a chicken dish with goat cheese and it was delicious. The succotash was very good, with a great balance of veggies. My husband had a pasta dish with sausage. He said it was okay, We were looking forward to a great selection of IPAS. We checked out the taps while waiting for a table. Once seated, we requested two IPAS, and were told they were out and had been replaced with other styles. So, we took a look at the menu to decide what we wanted. The beer prices were overpriced. At that point, we were happy they were out of the beers, because they were $9 and $7+ each. I've drank IPAS from the east coast to the west coast and back (on 3 separate road trips), and have never before encountered a $9 beer, or a $7 beer that should have been $6 at most.

They have awesome food! Whenever I go to a taphouse, I don't expect to be impressed with the food but I am so pleasantly surprised every time here! I have had the Hawaiian flatbread, the amaaaazing shrimp flatbread, the gorgonzola chopped salad, the pasta rustica, and the French themed pasta (I can't remember the exact name). They have all been delicious! I had a bite of the gluten free pasta one time, and I could not tell a difference between it and the regular pasta. And that is a feat! Their beer selection is pretty great, but could use more cycling. The staff is always friendly, and now that they have the half off bottles special in happy hour, I am ecstatic! They have a ton of rare bottles at an inexpensive price now. I go here just about every week.

I went here for Happy Hour for the first time. A completely awesome beer selection that definitely rivals a few other places in town known for their million beer options. It was also pretty busy as well with a fun crowd. We got a few appetizers to share that were definitely not just ordinary bar food which always makes me happy. I would reccommend the fish tacos. I would definitely go back if I need a southside happy hour spot again!

First, let me say if you are planning to do dinner and a movie...definitely go to the movie first then have dinner when dining here. The seating time wasn't too bad when we went, but the dining time was about an hour...that's getting the entree to start eating. We thought we were doing well going 1.5 hours before our movie time and at first we were told 25-30 minute wait time...then we were told 5 minute wait time. We were seated immediately after. It took a few minutes for someone to come take our orders. When they came we figured we should get it all in so there is no further delay. We ordered our drinks, appetizer, and entree all at the same time. Drinks and appetizer came in a decent time...Entree not so much. The waiter was friendly. Now onto the dishes. For the appetizer we order the crab flatbread. This was pretty good. The sauce definitely helped add a little extra something to it and we enjoyed the dish. For the entree I order the fish tacos and the BF ordered the cuban pork tacos. We ordered two tacos each so we could share. I really enjoyed the fish taco, but I wasn't too crazy about the pork taco (not enough seasoning or something...a little bland to me). Again, the fish tacos...a definite do. Drinks...we ordered two crabbies.. This bottles are a pretty nice size, but the purchase prices of 12 per bottle...more than the entree. Next time I'll just buy me a crabby at the grocery store. The environment was nice. There were plenty of people in there to make you feel like you were hanging out at a cool and alive spot in the area instead of a dead...this place is about to close spot. I'd go again....just not before I'm scheduled to watch a movie....Maybe if a I have a few hours to spare. I did tell the BF 1.5 hours would probably not be enough...but he wanted to finish watching the football game before we left. SMH

My family is originally from Maryland and we are quite picky about crab cakes--that being said, the crab cakes at Sedona Taphouse are amazing! My husband was skeptical about ordering seafood, as he is from the Gulf Coast and is accustomed to fresh seafood--he said the Mahi Mahi here was the best he's ever had! In addition to the food, we liked that Sedona Taphouse sells wine and beer to go--you can even buy individual bottles of beer. The restaurant was dressy enough for a date night, but relaxed enough to watch football at the bar. We will definitely be back!

i have come here a handful of times to enjoy my favorite beers and relax. key words, beer and relax. the food has always been good, especially the Kobe beef sliders, yummy!! fish tacos second favorite! great beer selection and the atmosphere is perfect for chillaxin after a long day at the office. last night i stopped in to grab a few beers, a bit saddened by the fact the bartender ignored me while tending to her dishware duties for 5 plus minutes then offered me a drink. the place was empty as I sat there downloading a few new apps. no biggie, end of shift and she probably wanted to get the hell out of there. i left her a 40% tip for sh*ts & giggles. still a solid establishment in my books!

First visit was prompted by the rumor of their extensive selection of craft brews on tab. Beer snob paradise, for sure; that aspect was much enjoyed! However, I found the atmosphere to be a little less casual than I would have preferred. I felt under dressed because I was wearing jeans. Also, ordered an 8$ appetizer labeled "black bean and chicken nachos" with the intention of sharing them with someone - not what I was thinking! A plate with a flour tortilla, fried crispy, cut into 8 slices (a buck a piece), with some toppings that included black beans and chicken. They were tasty, but was just expecting something else. I would have labeled it "open face black bean and chicken quesadilla". But still, 4 stars for the beer. I won't be going back if I'm hungry, just if I'm thirsty.

First impression, this place stinks... literally, like mildew and dirty mop water. Lets just hope they were having an off night. Second is that the tables are extremely small. The inside doesn't look as big as it does from the outside and they really cram those tiny tables together. We had a group of 6 at a table fit for 3 1/2, but I didn't see any bigger. we ordered the crab flatbread appetizer. It was pretty good, like a crabcake pizza (i'm going to have to steal that one). The beer selection is impressive, rivaling even the capital ale house down the street. For dinner i ordered the flat iron skillet, cooked medium. They must have an uneven heat source because half was fine, the other half was raw. Plus a small steak with a small scoop of mashed potatoes is a little skimpy, I know this is their low cal menu option, but a few green beans would have filled out that plate nicely. The pasta 2 others ordered were served messily in some deep dish bowls that made the dish look like something from a chicken helper box. To be fair the pork chop dish my girlfriends bother ordered looked fantastic, oatmeal crusted mashed sweet potatoes and dried cranberry sauce gave me some serious plate envy.

Great staff. Menu continues to expand and the food is excellent. If your going to go there and write a review, you need to have tried a beer or two. How can you rate a "Taphouse" without trying any of the beers? Excellent place to gather with friends. Great atmosphere!!

Nothing evokes the charming grandeur of Sedona's Red Rocks like a half-vacant strip-mall in the exurbs of Richmond , Virginia. The name may be a puzzling contradiction, but it, and the large variety of beer, is unabashedly hoping to usher you into a world of suburban escapism. Conch Republic anyone? This section of Midlothian desperately needs an adult oasis. Although the fine Capital Alehouse is not too far from the western outskirts of Midlothian, the denizens of the ever-expanding cul-de-sacia wastelands need somewhere closer to hang besides the Chick-fil-a parking lot. I visited the first week and although I found the inside a bit sterile, or perhaps just unfinished, it accomplishes what Capital Alehouse fails to do, (when they sequester you in a booth in the dining area) which is to keep you a part of the action. All tables are in the main room with full access/view of the bar. As typical suburbanites tend to quickly wither without exposure to the light emitted by TVs, Sedona has plenty tuned to a variety of spectacles involving grown men and inflatable balls. They have a menu of small plates that are perfect for sharing over beer. Entrees of meatloaf and quarter-pounders have a way of discouraging prolonged beer consumption, and beer consumption is where the spotlight is firmly pointed to at Sedona. There's no need to discuss the beer, as it features all the important domestic craft beers and imports. Of course the incredibly overrated Hardywood had a dedicated tap, but I chalk this up to the current zeitgeist to embrace all things local. Although Sedona may be a chain in the making, it's accomplishing what needs to be accomplished locally, namely, to offer a place for local inhabitants to drink the ennui away.

Gave Sedona another try and WOW!! It's the same location, same decor, but it is NOT the same place I had previously patronized. Greeted at the door; friendly, helpful bartenders, all staff working seamlessly together to maximize my enjoyment. Need recommendations, this bar staff will find you something you will like---not just tolerate BUT enjoy. Hour hour with munchies? Don't mind if I do. The basil and goat cheese flatbread phenomenal. Crave worthy. BBQ chicken flatbread? Surpasses some of the well known pizza joints in Richmond. After talking to all 3 bartenders on duty, found out HH is Monday thru Friday 3-5 ALL drafts half price; 5-6 a few still stay half price (owners/bartenders choice?) with discounted appetizers (if you will) at the bar. Sedona is now my "go to" place for craft beer, good food, and a sociable staff that seems pleased that I chose to spend time here than any other place. Please, maintain the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" attitude. If the volume of people is any indication of success.....you are doing everything right. I'm glad Hubs and I tried again.

I can say nothing about their beers and selection there of as I did not have any on my visit. The entrance is inviting and the first impression of the interior was good. Once our eyes adjusted to the change in light and we had a chance to look around while waiting for a server. I cant put my finger on it but something is off here, it is warm and inviting at and over the bar area yet sterile and icky along the tall tables around the wall. Something just doesnt fit, bad decorating karma, evil Feng shui? I don't know what it was but coupled with the laiissez faire approach taken by all the staff as evidenced by their dress and demeanor the entire vibe is wrong. The food was acceptable and my boys (11,14 and 17) seemed to enjoy their fare but they pretty much eat anything placed in front of them. We shared the "Kobe" beef sliders, BBQ sliders, Italian GFO and the fish tacos. Sliders were ok but covered in a horrid sauce, BBQ was decent, the flat bread was pretty tasty and the fish tacos were underwhelming. It would be great to see this place somehow tweak everything that is askew and bring something unexpected and worthwhile to this area that so desperately needs it.

Since moving from NY I've been a little bored with the bar scene here on the Southside. I've been to this place 3 times since they open and all three times it was a very pleasant experience. First the beer selection speaks for itself, the largest in the state. You have to remember that this is a Taphouse not a steakhouse. Not to say that the steaks weren't good they actually are. I've been to a beer hall down in Tampa that didn't even offer food but give you takeout menus from the local Chinese or pizza joints. Talk about tacky, I'm so glad this place didn't go this route. I love really like the fact they have live entertainment, beer clinics, charity night and some T.V's to catch the game. It's sometimes gets a little lively but I like that. Some locals might not agree but if I wanted quiet I'll go to my local library. I'm out to have a good time and that what I gotten coming here. My only complaint it's so hard to get a seat on the weekends but once you do It's so worth it!
(5)Mark B.
Filtered again ? I'm still saying without a doubt, the best place to have a beer on the SoutSide period!
(5)Heather F.
Honestly this is one of my favorite tap houses to go to. They always have something different on tap and always something unique. The food is always great. Everyone is always nice and pleasant. I will agree that the waitresses aren't fast paced BUT going to a tap house I'm really going to hangout with friends so I'm never in a hurry. This place is a regular of mine.
(5)Bill R.
Out side seating was good. server was very good. Food delivery was timely. Had the Roman Parmesan crusted Chicken with roasted Brussels Sprouts. One of my new favorites.
(4)Kari W.
Service was a little slow but the food and beer selection is great! I like sweet beer/wine and they had a great apple beer for me while my husband is a fan of IPAs. They have beer or food for any taste. It seems a little out of place in west Chester but might blend a little better if it fills up more?
(3)Gary H.
Honestly, after over a year I tried here again. Are server was overworked but when he was around, he was great. However, because of lack servers he was rarely at our table. The food is good but I feel I have had better at other RVA restaurants. My biggest issue is the huge markup on beer prices. I feel the markup compared to some other RVA restaurants is large. Just a note two of our 4 members of our party loved it. One said it was her best restaurant in RVA. Overall, may return but there are plenty of other restaurants with better food better prices and better beer in my personal taste. One note. They did have a new england tap takeover and it included Dogfish.
(3)Kim B.
Nothing rubs me the wrong way like receiving a discount and then it being taken away! When I checked in here Yelp! gave me a 10% discount (yippee), which the server pointed out after I order had expired a month beforehand. How are you still advertising a past promotion and then refusing to honor it? Poor taste in my opinion. In better news - the food was decent. The beer selection (on tap) was plentiful. The space was awesome! The price of the food was on the high end. I'll likely come back for a drink, but I don't anticipate another meal here. It's just not worth the price. I will also make sure to check their promotions more closely in the future.

I love a great tap house that isn't... total sports bar. After visiting the Charlottesville location a few times my husband and I stopped in for lunch on the way back to our house from a long weekend at my in-laws. The place is very clean, professional but still has local character feel to it. Lots of stone, dark seating, green ceilings. We happened to come in on a Monday and they began their charity event where they offer their flatiron steaks with mashed potatoes for $5 and the money goes to a local hospital. I love supporting charities and I love a deal, this steak is usually $15. My husband and I each got a drink from the bar, local beer and glass of house wine. I have to say, the bar drinks had a delay.... especially for the five or so tables that were there at the time. The food was amazing. I have to say all their food is amazing. The steak we had was great quality and cooked perfectly (medium rare/rare) buttery and melted in your mouth like a steakhouse. The potatoes were mashed with skins mixed in and creamy yet not runny. The reason for my 4 stars, the service could have been better. the server walked by several times when our drink was empty, we needed our check, etc.
(4)Aubrey W.
I've been there twice and thought their sliders were good.
(3)Brent H.
People in the 'burbs go gaga for this place, and I can see why: the food is very good and the beer list is unparalleled. The open seating can feel a bit intrusive and cramped, though the bar area is lovely. My wife and I arrived around 5:00 on a Saturday, thinking we would "beat the rush." Yeah, right. There is no beating the rush at this place. The line out the door seems to be a permanent fixture. They don't accept reservations, although they do offer a kind of call-ahead seating option. We were quoted a 40 minute wait but were seated after only about 10 minutes. When I was seated at the table and handed the massive beer list, my eyes glazed over. Serious decision paralysis. Dozens upon dozens of draft and bottle options of every style you could desire. Plenty of local options. I eventually settled on a nitrogen stout from Hardywood. It was served promptly and properly and tasted delicious. The service was friendly and drink orders arrived quickly, but the food did take a long time to find its way to the table. We started with a goat cheese flatbread and it was perfect -- exactly the right size to share as a starter. For our entrees she order the flank steak and I ordered the surf and turf, served with a crab cake. Our steaks were tasty though mine was cooked a bit beyond the requested medium rare. The food took a while to get to us but it was hot and fresh when it did arrive. The dining area is very loud but I feel like that's just par for the course these days. It's not the most comfortable place to eat but the beer and food are fantastic, so I don't mind grinning and bearing the ambiance.
(5)J R.
Fun atmosphere , good live music on Friday nights
(4)Kathryn L.
The food and service here were simply amazing. They have a great outdoor seating section, though my husband and I did choose to sit indoors because of the great ambiance and exposed brick which we love. We ordered the cheese plate to begin which was wonderful (will say that it appeared smaller than I expected, though it was surprisingly very filling and an awesome selection). For our main meal we ordered the scallops which were WONDERFUL. I would highly recommend them for anyone who eats here. My husband ordered the mussel and shrimp pasta which he raved about all night and the next day! Highly recommend for a date night, family dinner, or even a place to grab a drink as their bar area is great and they have over 350 beers to choose from!! *** TIP: this restaurant does NOT acknowledge the 10% off coupon and the manager has expressed that they never okay-ed this promotion with Yelp.
(5)Amanda W.
Each time we have come here the servers and bartenders are extremely friendly. Prices are very reasonable- house wines are all only $6. They have a killer draft beer list and the food has always been very good. Live music can typically be found on Fridays and Saturdays too. Highly recommend!!!
(5)Matt M.
My wife and I went here for dinner last week. We had heard about their massive beer list (can be found on Trinkin) and wanted to check it out. It is out at Watkins Centre at 288 and Midlothian, so was a bit of a drive. The restaurant is new and a little kitschy, but nice. There's a good patio, as well. The happy hour was a very good deal, but not reasonable for me to be there in time. Our beers were excellent, as expected, and the service was friendly and helpful. Our waiter was not afraid to give a recommendation, which I appreciate. We started with the Kobe sliders which came with some black potato chips. The sliders had fried onions on them and were very good. For our main course we had a salmon special recommended by the server and the fish tacos. The salmon was served with spinach and mashed potatoes and was just okay. The fish tacos were excellent -- very tasty. Though it is a bit out of the way for us, but I would certainly go again, especially given the great beer list and very good food.
(4)Chris P.
They've got one of the largest craft beer selections in the surrounding area. The staff is always willing to help choose a nice brew and patient. The food is really good as well I'd recommend the bourbon pork chop entree. The only downside was that it was kind of small, but I'm thinking I was just starving from all the tasty brews. I will definitely be returning in the future to enjoy their always changing beer lineup.
(4)T S.
Excellent beer selection; probably the best in the area with Capital Ale House a close 2nd. Brew is a distant 3rd. Great decor. Outside seating. Good food. Very solid option for entertaining out of town guests. Will continue to visit this establishment.
(5)Kelly R.
I have been to Sedona before and it was awhile ago. I remember the place being packed and waiting room only. I told my husband how good the place was so we went after the movie last night. It was 7pm on a Saturday and they were not packed. There were empty tables, there were more people working than in the restaurant but the service was horrible and so was the quality of the food. Mine came out cold and the table next to use had the food sent back and their entire meal comped. I am not sure what's going but it's a good place and atmosphere. Something must be going on with management. I hope they read this and improve. I will be back and will update my review based on the experience. I hope things will be better.
(2)Meredith B.
Absolutely excellent service, I want to start with that off the bat. The waitress was wonderfully knowledgeable about the entire beer menu and managed to make some excellent recommendations based on my frankly sad attempts to explain what sort of beer I've enjoyed to date. She's also one of those splendid people who can recall eight different beers, in order, and not mix anything up without writing down a word. The beers themselves probably deserve a review all their own, but all I'll say there is that they were tasty, though apparently I'm not fond of nitro- which resulted in its abrupt removal from my flight and a brief discussion about what I'd like instead. The food is also excellent and required no such substitutions. I ordered a pleasant shrimp pasta [though I swear, if people keep leaving the shrimp tails on food, I am going to scream] which also made for an excellent lunch the next day and my friend ordered the kobe beef sliders. Truth time? I should have ordered them too- the pasta was good, but those things are beyond words. The desserts were also glorious, both the "chocolate decadence" and the salted caramel cheesecake are excellent in their own right, without one coming out the clear winner. Definitely somewhere to return.
(4)Ashley G.
My last review would have been 5 stars had I remembered to enter it, but I'd forgotten. Oops. This one is 4 stars because of the 3 cheese on the devils pass pasta, the previous time I'd gone I'd asked that the pasta not be spicey, so they'd taken off the three cheese sauce, and it was amazing. With the sauce, I'm not a fan, the pasta before tasted a lot cleaner and had many flavors that I enjoyed. I just left having spent 70.00, I told my husband that this is the last time we're going to Sedonas. The food is great, but the terribly small serving sizes in comparison to cost is too much to continue to subject my meager paychecks to. I worked for a day and a half to afford the meal here, that puts the cost into perspective. Add to it that I had no left overs to enjoy later. Our server didn't maintain as well as expected, we had to get his attn. to order our food, and to get our check. The service wasn't nearly worth the 7-8$ tip I left, 3-4$ at best. As always the restaurant was clean, fresh, and pleasant.
(4)Michelle D.
Went see a movie and saw this restaurants advertisement in the Regal theater right across the street. Amazing food!!! Happy we stopped by! Great service!
(5)Jude L.
Great food and beer! The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place
(5)Alexander B.
Great beer selection. Food is good, as is the service. I would caution about eating lunch there as the menu seems to more geared towards dinner.
(4)Sean O.
Heard from a local hops farm that this was the place to come for beer. They were right. Nice decor inside, great service (sat at the bar), food was interesting and well done. With more time I'd check the age if the bottles as it's hard to have everything fresh with a big list. On the expensive side for beers but you're paying for location and decor, which are nice. We had a flatbread pizza, and two other appetizers (they were very good). I'll be back when in the area.
(5)Mike F.
I have been to this place quite a few times over the past year. Food is good, but service has never been up to par. The beer selection is way too static. They need to hire another server or two, and rotate the beer selection a little more.
(2)Jim K.
Made our first visit to the Sedona Taphouse last night. We went with a group of friends (party of 10 in total). Everyone in the group was very happy with their meal. The service was outstanding - the staff was very attentive and accommodating. I had the Roman Crusted Parmesan Chicken with mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. The potatoes and sprouts were delicious. The chicken was very tasty, but for my own preference I wish there was a little more salsa/sauce on it - it was just a touch on the dry side. My wife had the salmon - based on a recommendation from someone in the group who had been here before - and she loved it. It was very flavorful and done perfectly, and the mango salsa was a great addition. She also really liked the cous cous and broccoli. We didn't try the desserts as we were meeting at one of our groups' home after the meal. All in all a very good experience - it's a hopping place, full of happy people. The menu is varied with something for everyone. If you're looking to spend time in a happy place with happy people and great food, this is your place. One caution - if you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner for two, or maybe for a place for a business meeting, the noise level may be too much.
(4)J K.
Change of pace from BWW and Hooters ... No wings and the usual domestic brew here. Appetizers seem excessively fussy, catering to cheese eaters and wine sippers, rather than beer drinkers, kinda ironic, given the name of the place. Nevertheless, their craft beer selection is great and while the food is good, portions are bit skimpy. Prices are tick higher but in line for a place with upscale aspirations.
(4)Ashley L.
I got the mahi mahi with the mango sauce and thoroughly enjoyed it. It came with garlic mashed potatoes which were great. I also got asparagus which was cooked properly. I tried my husbands and my fathers meals and thought their meals were great too. The thing I was most surprised by was my childs kids meal. Holy cow...I wouldve eaten it myself. The seasoning on her grilled chicken was so good and I ordered her cous cous as her side and I had to steal a little because it was so good. Would I recommend it to others?....uuuh yea. Already recommended it to my neighbor. Nothing to complain about. My waiter was really nice and made conversation with us about all the local breweries. Everything was clean. Nice atmosphere.
(5)Craig M.
This is great place with a a good beer selection and good quality food. The low country shrimp is one of my favs as well as the filet! It is consistently good!
(4)James K.
We go to the movies a lot, and they advertise Sedona Steakhouse, so we decided to try them. We were seated and given menu's , and that is where it ended. We sat at our table for 15 minutes and no one came to take our order. The place was not busy, guessing about 5 or 6 tables. The final straw was when the manager walked past our table and asked the people next to us how they were being treated. I thought he was going to ask us, but he took off to the kitchen. As we were leaving, the two girls manning the door did say have a nice day. Too bad they didn't make one of them at least take our drink order, since they weren't doing anything.

Awesome beer selection. Good food with a gluten free menu. Good service. Fun bar to people watch from. The outside patio is fun in good weather. I have hosted my club's Cmas party here and loved it. Love the sausage sandwhich, cuban pork tacos, and monday steak night supports charities.

I've learned to actually read Yelp reviews when searching out a place to eat because most people don't seem to know how to review. I'm glad I did because this place was the real deal. Most the complaints I see are about service, my experience with service was not an issue at all. Our food was fantastic (I came with 3 other people and tried all their food too). I don't understand why people complain about beers not being available, how could any place keep every single beer in Stock? It would not make sense economically. Go check this place out. The servers are friendly the food was great and the atmosphere was fitting. *side note I think the responses to some of these ridiculous reviews from the owner are hilarious. Keep up the good work man.

Went here with my wife after hearing a lot of positive things, including from my wife. She had the fish tacos, which is the only thing she said she has ever had, and they were very good. I had the black bean nachos, which were also very good. I also had the beef sliders and buffalo chips, both which I would never order again. Good sliders are meant to be cooked on a grill. These reminded me of hamburger that has been baked or broiled, and cooks in the blood from the meat, leaving a bad after taste. The buffalo chips are the thicker, flat, homemade type, and even look unappealing as they're basically purple. I won't make that mistake again. As bad as I thought the burgers were, I would try Sedona again based on the nachos. I'm sure they have other very good items as well, and the beer choices are excellent.

Kathleen and Vernon are awesome bartenders; dirty martinis and beer selection are the best.
(4)Sarah N.
Awesome atmosphere! Went with 2 friends for lunch. They enjoyed the beer selection, the tacos and BBQ sliders. I enjoyed the Cesar salad. We split the cheesecake which was absolutely delicious! Little pricey but I'd definitely go back.

My first thought after visiting Sedona Taphouse? Dang, I wish this was closer to where i live. My second thought? That was a great meal! Ok, so after a "surprise" 10ish mile hike (I say surprise because it was only supposed to be 5ish, but we got a little lost), my fiancé and I were exhausted and starving. We didn't want to wait til we got home to eat, and we wanted to find something somewhat on the way. Obviously, I pulled out my Yelp app and Sedona popped up. Perfect! I'd been meaning to try Sedona forever, but I'm rarely in this area of Midlo, so it's definitely a destination spot for me. It's located in a newer development near to where 60 and 288 intersect. They offer outdoor seating, which we took full advantage of since the weather was so nice. Since we were so starved, we started by sharing a goat cheese and basil flatbread pizza. I don't know if it was because we'd worked up such an appetite or because of my obsession with both goat cheese and basil, but this flatbread was the best thing I've tasted in a very long time. I would absolutely order this again. We each also ordered beer flights - no explanation needed at a taphouse, right? I don't remember exactly what I tried, but I know there were a few with fruity hints, as well as Strangeways Disintigration and Founders Double Trouble. I actually really enjoyed everything I tasted, and I loved the extensive beer list with all of the descriptions. For my entree, I ordered a fish taco on a corn tortilla and a side of steamed spinach. The taco was dressed with a mango salsa and served with a side of greens, both of which were incredibly tasty. I'm a sucker for a fish taco and this one did not disappoint. My fiancé opted for the cubano pulled pork tacos, which are served with blue chips, and he finished everything on his plate. Well, with the exception of one chip, which ended up in my belly. And yes, it was awesome. Our server was super knowledgable about the beer list, which is always a plus at an establishment with such an extensive list. In fact, two of the beers I chose for my flight were recommendations from her - and she knocked it out of the park. I've been raving about Sedona since we visited on Friday, and I'm just a tad jealous of the West End-ers and folks in Midlo who live closer to this gem than I do! If you haven't been, you should probably check it out.

Great selection of imported and craft beers- bottled and on tap. If you're looking for domestic or light beer, this isn't the place for you. The menu is pretty limited, but everything I have tried is great. The service has always been fantastic. They open the garage door when the weather is nice for airy feel and outdoor seating is great. It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but they do accept reservations.

WOW!! This place is amazing for both their food and beer selection. I've been here a few times now both for happy hour and for dinner and every time I go it is very enjoyable. They have a HUGE beer selection and the staff seems very knowledgeable about the beers and they can help you pick out ones that you might like and want to try. They also offer Beer School there on Sundays and that is both fun and informative. You are able to try the beers and learn how and why they are made. So, not only do you find beers that you enjoy but you can also help advise your friends on their beer selections at dinner. Last night was the first time I went there for the $5 Steak Out for Charity event they have every Monday. You get an 8oz grilled Angus steak with a side of red mashed potatoes. I paid the extra $1 for the steam broccoli and I was very happy with the choice. The steak came out a wonderful medium/rare (exactly how I ordered it) and the broccoli was steamed to a crunchy, flavorful perfection. I am definitely going back to help out the community and eat some amazing steak. My dad and I have also been there a few times for happy hour. We got to try a few flights and the bartender was really helpful by talking us through the choices we made. He was more than happy to ask us what type of beer we typically drank and how far out of our comfort zone we were okay with going. From there he recommended a few beers and let us pick. It was a wonderful experience and definitely both fun and educational. For food, I had the Edamame appetizer. I'm no vegetarian but I do love this dish... when cooked correctly. Sedona nailed it. The beans were firm and not squishy and there was the perfect amount of salt to accompany it. My dad was a little more adventurous and tried the Canyon Crab Flatbread. I stole a little piece and fell in love. The flatbread wasn't soggy or greasy but firm and flavorful. The crab meat on top wasn't too fishy and the cheese to meat ratio was, in my opinion, perfect. It was served in 5-6 pieces with some yummy dipping sauce on the side. I was definitely very impressed with both the service, menu, and quality of the restaurant and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who asked.

Always on my short list of where to go. Sometimes after work my car goes there by itself. Good food and beer selection.
(4)Ryan M.
Went here for the first time and enjoyed their beer tasting/class. The two gentlemen speaking on the topic of Malt were extremely knowledgeable and the beers offered were off the beaten path for someone like myself who favors a more hoppy array of beers. I will have to offer an updated review when I have the opportunity to sample some of the food on the menu, as I just stuck with the beer on my visit. The bartender was extremely helpful and was polite and courteous. With such an extensive beer list, she was quick to offer suggestions based on my personal preference of beer. Dining and bar area were very clean and modern. Look forward to giving this place's food a try.
(4)Jac C.
We got here right when it opened on a Saturday. They advertise they have over 500 beers but happened to be out of the one I ordered. They did bring me several samples of beers that would be similar, and although it seemed like we waited a while for our food, it was absolutely delicious once we got it. It's still a great choice.
(4)Joshua K.
I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary and it was amazing. I did not know this ahead of time but on Mondays they serve a $5 Steak and Potatoes and donate that money to charity. We both ended up ordering that. But we started off the night with the Flatbread (can not remember the exact name) with crab meat and cheese. It was served with a house sauce. It was spectacular. Both dishes were amazing this evening.

I love Sedona. One of my favorite places to go in Richmond. Wonderful beer selection with bartenders who know what they're talking about and great food to compliment it. $5 steak night seems too good to be true but it is the real deal. Same with $10 fish nights. My other favorites are the fish tacos, flatbreads, and the gorgonzola chopped salad. My only slight complaint is I've had less than great service a few times. Also, I know not every server can be the legal age to drink, but If you're going to be taken seriously as a beer destination, every server needs to know the basics of the product.

First time at Sedona celebrating the boy's birthday. We started with the craft beer and some wine. The selection is phenomenal. My sister ordered the Reisling and was very pleased. I ordered the Devils Backbone Vienna lager...super yum! The boy ordered a variety of beers and all were satisfied. Now for the food. I'd say the food is...average. We ordered Canyon Crab Flatbread which was great! Super yummy, and the remoulade was spectacular! I ordered the Devils Pass Pasta and although good, seemed to lack a kick. Maybe the cream sauce could have been a bit more flavorful. My sister ordered the Wild Man Chicken. A good entree, but we still felt like it was lacking. Maybe a stronger cheese could be used? Or an additional side? The boy orders southwest tacos which came with a side of blue chips. Of the 3 entrees, he was happiest with his dish. Dessert, because it was the boy's birthday, was key lime pie and the chocolate decadence cake. Both good, but not worth the $7 price for each slice!!! That was a shock to us. Besides the food, the beer and service were fantastic! Rachel, our waitress, was Very attentive without being overwhelming. She was patient with us since we sat for a good hour for drinks before ever ordering and she didn't seem to mind a bit! We will definitely be back. I think their specialty is the high end light bar fare and the drinks. I would not recommend going for JUST dinner.

Great atmosphere, great food, great service. I go as much as i can and would recommend it 100%!
(4)Matthew M.
Given the choice between the capital ale house in Midlothian and Sedona, I would choose Sedona. Easier to navigate the beer list and solid, reasonably priced food choices.
(4)Joanna E.
As far as Capital Ale House goes: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. And that's exactly how we felt following not the first or second time but probably the third of sluggish service, cold burgers on burger night, and pretzel bread that's stale when we know perfectly well it's sometimes soft and delicious. Tired of the inconsistency and the heavier-than-bricks cuisine to go with our craft beers, we looked elsewhere. And then we found the Sedona Taphouse. Their beer selection easily matches or exceeds the overwhelming menu at Capital Ale House. The servers are friendly and attentive and never desert you in your seat without a cold beverage. We have gone to Sedona several times now, each meal contributing to a fun and memorable date night on the patio. We've tried the flights of beer, which is four 4-ounce samplers of the various drafts. We've taken the suggestion of the friendly manager and were blown away by how good it was. Aside from the drinks, the menu also impresses. If you want to go for light fare, you can enjoy a flat-bread pizza or a unique salad without breaking the bank. For heavier fare, we've enjoyed the Mahi Mahi and the Pork Chop. But it was their pasta dish with olives, imported olive oil, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, and other goodies that will always keep me coming back. That has to be one of my favorite dishes I've had in Midlo. Liking Sedona on Facebook has helped us decide not if we're going to go back - but when. They recently had our beloved New Belgium come in for a tasting, and they also had a pumpkin beer tasting with a take-the-glass twist. Loved it. We'll happily forfeit the fast food, slow service German food for this more sophisticated dining and drinking spot.
(5)Eric O.
I wish I could rate it higher, but the beer was way over priced compared to similar craft beer places in town (12 oz glasses). The food quality was above average, but portions were small and there weren't many reasonably priced mid-range options. Unless I missed something, the menu seemed to go from appetizers, straight to $19+ options. Our waitress was a bit snooty as well. When I asked for guidance on 'dark beers', she scoffed as if I had asked her to name every beer on tap. Our total was ~$50 between two people for two appetizers and 4 beers.
(2)Dave B.
I've eaten here a dozen times. The food is always really tasty and all the salads and flatbread pizza's are excellent and the entrees are yummy. The beer selection is really excellent with renowned beers from all over the country, both draft (about 30ish) and a spectacular bottle selection; except I wish they had more local beers beyond hipster Hardywood. It is usually packed at prime dining times, so the table service is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars. I have found all the bartenders to be super knowledgeable and friendly. Half price growler night on Thursday's and happy hour specials are good. Sedona easily has the best food at any brew pub in Richmond. I have been to all the others. No one comes close.
(4)Michelle B.
My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time this afternoon. Our server, Nate, was awesome! He was very knowledgeable about the beers we ordered, offered suggestions, and made friendly conversation. The Kobe sliders were excellent, the bbq flatbread pizza was delicious, and the Devil's Pass pasta was wonderful. We will definitely be returning soon.

Apparently the night to go is Friday, I hear Saturday isn't nearly as good - maybe it's a different chef? I don't know... I've been going almost every Friday night for weeks now and it has been great every time. I get the flat iron steak and it's just a good darn piece of meat. I didn't care for the caesar salad, I think next time I'd ask for the dressing on the side because it was WAY overdressed. My companions get the shrimp pasta and the salmon - they say both are amazing. The edamame was really good too. Bigger plus: they have Breckenridge Vanilla Porter - whoop whoop! Get it, Sedona!! The only detriment is trying to get a table - it does take FOR-EVE-RRRRR.
(4)Leslie P.
$5 steak nights on Mondays gives you steak and garlic mashed potatoes. For another $5, you can add shrimp or crab or other yummy choices. Only requirement is you have to purchase a drink. $1 goes to a charity selected for that night. Steak was really good, but a request for medium well, resulted in 1/2 of the steak well done & the other 1/2 medium rare. Topped my steak with shrimp scampi and the overall flavor experience was excellent. Inside way too noisy for friends to meet and have a conversation, but the outdoor seating was perfect for the group I met with.

Three of us had lunch one weekday recently at the STH. The wait staff were excellent and were able to get our order right without the aid of pen or tablet. I had the Cuban sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor. I had the tomato basil soup with the sandwich and it was very rich and thick. My wife got the grilled chicken salad and was quite pleased with the result. Our friend got the steak salad and praised it. The only let downs were the cheesecake that our friend got to take home for later. She reported that it was not as good as it looked. The other very minor quibble was with the men's room - the door opens up to a proud view of the urinals - no screen from the door. The restroom was very clean. I will definitely go again.

Sunday early dinner.. Fish night...Salmon/Mahi Mahi with potatoes and broc... very well executed ..delicious ... also some nice brews in a 4 oz taster selection flight.. I highlty recommend this option as a way to try craft beers... Nice place, clean, friendly staff, good food and yummy beers... Serious taps and plenty of botted beers also. . you can surely find something you like here... Thanks for a great meal and excellent beers Sedona.... see ya soon!
(5)Colleen F.
Three of my girlfriends and I visited STH on 2/4 for a drink after dinner. The interior is nicely laid out and the bartender was friendly and helpful with beer selections. The reason for only two stars is the dirty smell coming from inside the restaurant. At first I thought it was outside and I dashed in- I was really sad to find the smell in the building. While it wasn't totally disgusting it definitely was not good. It smelled of dirty mop water, if I had to put a name to it. I was very thankful we had already eaten! I would try STH again but do a sniff test before committing to dining there.
(2)Megan T.
My sister and I ventured into the restaurant for happy hour and sat at the bar since it was already packed. The food was fantastic! We ordered the Australian 'Kobe Beef' sliders, Acapulco Fish Taco, Australian 'Kobe Beef, Southwest Steak Taco, and Crazy Hawaiian flat bread. We will be back!
(4)Keen T.
I love this place. I've never had a bad meal. If you co.e Mondays make sure you come early or call ahead. Happy Hour for her lovers!

We were a party of 7 on a friday evening without a reservation; okay that was dumb of our party host. However, we waited patiently well over an hour and 1/2 for a table because we were told a number of times 15 minutes. There where 2 gentlemen sitting at a table for 8 for an hour after the rest of their party left the restaurant. We kept asking the hostess' how long and they said they were waiting for one of the 2 tables to free up. They obviously thought the 2 would leave soon. My husband and I sat at the bar, the rest of our party left and ate somewhere else. I talked with the manager and let him know I watched that table with 2 people in it for well over an hour while there were lines of people waiting to be seated. I suggested that they offer customers in that situation a free drink at the bar to free up a table for large parties. Anyway, the 2 of us did enjoy our meal at the bar very much and returned later, after a movie, to hear the entertainment. The restaurant was full all night so very loud; not a romantic atmosphere for those looking for intimate discussion. Was enjoyable once the entertainment began. Local talent, Pat O'Brian played guitar and sang very professionally. He has a long playlist, playing just about anything anyone could request. Pat interacted with his audience making a fun time for all who wanted to listen, sing-a-long and even dance. We will give it another try and see how the service goes with a reservation!

I have been to STH about two dozen times and I really want to give it 5 stars. Why? 1. The beer selection is fabulous and, while always changing, they seem to have my favorites, about 60% of the time. And the draft beer is always fresh. 2. I see people giving bad reviews about the decor. Not sure what they're comparing it to, but after 7 years of traveling the US and seeing similar establishments I'd say the interior design rocks. Especially love the huge garage door that gives the place an open air feel in the summer. Wish the patio was larger. 3. The food is very good. A little too refined (no burger and fries or wings??) but what I've had has been good. 4. They let me smoke a cigar on the patio. 5. Steal the glass night, support of Virginia breweries, social consciousness (Monday steak for charity), great social media presence. All great features of STH. Nobody else in Richmond compares. So why not give it 5 stars? - The gripes I read about the service are all pretty spot on. I always sit at the bar. Trying to get the attention of a bartender has always been frustrating, not sure they are understaffed or just don't care. When I do get it is usually a very business-like exchange, cold and cordial, more like a formal restaurant and less like the hometown pub. Not unfriendly, just not going out of their way to act friendly. And I know they recognize me, but still no acknowledgement that I'm a pseudo-regular. Maybe it's me. I enjoy the atmosphere and the beer, so will still go, but will still go to Cap Ale or Legends too (where the staff are more engaging and friendly) They do everything else right, but until they get some bar staff that aren't so stifled and lethargic, and engage the customers, they get 4 stars.
(4)Tammy C.
Love this place!!! Have always had good food. Sometimes it can get a little loud inside, but the food is worth it. I enjoy the fish dishes. My hubby has had the flat iron steak. Very good. We have always been able to be seated within a few minutes. Would recommend this place.
(5)John T.
Along with Wild Ginger one of the better places in the Midlothian area. May not have the beer selection of Cap Ale but a much more interesting menu priced well. Friday and Saturday nights can be a zoo with a long wait as there isn't a ton of seating. Becoming a Saturday or Sunday afternoon lunch spot for our family.
(4)Monica C.
Atmosphere is cool, The huger chalkboard at the end of the bar listing the 250 types of beers / ales was very impressive. The huge walk in cooler that lined the wall of the bar was also impressive. I like the roll up door what opened the bar up to the patio tables. I felt that the place was lacking in something. I was just barely alive, the crowd on the evening that I went was quite a bit older than I expected it to be for a Friday night. Now please do not get me wrong I am certainly not opposed to the older generation in the least, it just was not what I was expecting. I had two margaritas and a plate of hummus, the drinks were not the best and were a little too expensive for the terribly small glass they came in. $8.50 for a drink in a highball glass, for real! The plate of hummus was delicious, but was $9. There was live music that did not start until 9:30, by that time most of the peeps in the place had left. You could barely hear the music as they had it outside in the alley across from the patio seating. That was a real shame because this night the music was very good. I may go again, I may not depends on the company and the mood I am in.
(3)Derek M.
Okay so I was the first or second person to review this restaurant and I wanted to take a minute upgrade my review. The team at Sedona have done a great job enhancing their menu. The Kobe sliders are amazing, and the expanded drink selection is nice for the non-beer drinking women. Thank you Sedona for making the effort. One small request - please combine your menus into one :-)
(4)Mos D.
After receiving several messages from the owner about my previous 2 star review I am going to simplify my review but keep it posted. Those of you familiar with my writings will know that I do not need to write in full detail to get my point across. I did not enjoy the food. I did not think the appearance of the staff was pleasant. I was disappointed in the staff's knowledge of beer. I was disappointed in the organization of the beer list. I was unimpressed with the menu options. I did however love the decor of the place, and I thought the staff members (while dressed inappropriately) were very friendly and honest. I would not recommend Sedona Taphouse to anyone.
(1)Monte P.
Stopped in this evening after work. Just happened to be happy hours, so off to a good start. Greeted and seated right away, server Tori was at the table in perfect time. Explained everything I needed in detail, made a great suggestion for a beverage and the rest of the experience was a bonus after that. Great establishment, great food. I believe I will be one of the regulars here very soon!
(5)John E.
The Yelp consensus was pretty dead-on. The beer list was extensive, the happy hour deals were good, and the food was mediocre. The sliders were a lot better than the flatbreads, one of which (the shrimp one) bordered on bad. People had complained about the service, but our service was quite fine. The place was smaller than I'd expected. If I lived very nearby, I might go here for an occasional happy hour, but for me it's not worth a special trip.
(3)Annie T.
A preview of Sedona Taphouse revealed attention to one of Richmond's newest passions: quality beer. The long row of dozens of taps and the coolers of bottles revealed many fine craft beers and imports, including some local Virginia beers, like Legend and Starr Hill. I tried the kobe beef sliders, which were juicy and well presented on toasted buns with sauteed onions, plus blue corn chips on the side. The servers weren't especially knowledgeable about beer, but that will probably improve. On this preview opening, they seemed to be unflustered by the onslaught of customers, still friendly and attentive. The small venue was packed this evening, which hopefully bodes well for Sedona Taphouse and the future of craft beer drinkers in RVA.
(4)Rob M.
Service was pretty good, food was pretty good. Not stellar but, pretty good. I was there with the family. Everyone was satisfied. The younger ones more so. Did not enjoy the mussels.
(3)Traci W.
This place has quite a bit of potential. Here are my impressions: 1) Beer selection is good. 2) Food is good. Quality of ingredients is above average and they have multiple vegetarian options. (Thank you, Sedona!!) 3) Service is not great. (I've visited once, so keep that in mind. I will give it another shot next time I'm in town.) To expand on that.... When my husband was halfway through his beer, we noticed the glass had a huge "t" shaped crack. We were both pretty surprised it didn't break on him. I called the server's attention to it so that it could be replaced with a safer glass, and she responded with, "Oh, you're right", and I was kind of expecting her to say, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" or "Gosh, I hope you didn't swallow a shard of glass". She returned with the same beer after dumping it into a new glass.....Strike 1. We returned it because it was unsafe. It probably didn't have glass shards in it, but why risk it? Strike 2- That seemed like a totally scrooge maneuver. We're not trying to get something for nothing, we didn't ask her to comp his beer (even though we probably should have), but come on! You can at least bring him a full beer after replacing the broken glass just as a show of wanting to do right by the customer. And in case your'e wondering....no. They didn't comp it. We went on a night when the restaurant was at 1/2 or 3/4 capacity, yet there was an exceedingly long wait for our food. However, I give them credit because the waitress acknowledged it and brought out some complimentary appetizers to keep our hungry clan calm. I was really appreciative because I was hungry when I arrived, and starving by the time the appetizers finally arrived. The server kept our drinks full, but wasn't especially friendly. I don't think I saw her smile once. I realize that's not a requirement, but it definitely makes the dining experience more enjoyable. When the food arrived, it was good. I started with a basic salad and found all of the ingredients to be high quality and super fresh. The salad dressing seemed to be made in-house and was also really good. Husband and I split the flatbread and I thought it was good - crispy bread, good ingredients. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was nice. I'll try something else next time. Overall, the experience was, as the rating suggests, OK. Since I have family in the area, I'll be in town again soon and will be happy to give Sedona another try. It's an independent tap house, and aside from Chopstix, appears to be the only non-chain establishment in Westchester. That alone makes it worthy of another visit.
(3)Wade A.
I just had to mention that I initially thought the reviewer (Colleen) who said there was a bad smell like dirty mop water may have had a bad, one-time experience. Nope. The beer and sliders were great but geez that smell of dirty dishwater coming from the bar area is awful. It's like they tried to cover it with bleach but that didn't work. They have to get to the bottom of this.
(3)Rob R.
Great draft beer selection at a great price. Decent smaller portion foods. Great local draft beer selection!
