Hibachi Buffet & Sushi Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Warning - do not go at lunch on a busy day - in my case December 26th. The place holds a huge number of people and when it is full, there is almost no room to move in the buffet area. I felt I was in some horror film, trying to choose from the relatively small trays of food while dodging children, little old ladies bent over on canes, big scary guys I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley and tiny oriental ladies with carts trying to refill the small trays of food. The areas between the 7 or 8 buffet tables is small, there is no particular order to proceed so folks are coming from all sides and the food empties out in no time. I was sitting at our tables when my daughters returned from trip #2 complaining they were almost out of everything at that point, even the green beans. I got up a few minutes later and found they had green beans, turn around for a moment, turned back and some guy had loaded half his plate with them, taking about 1/3 of what had just been put down. To its credit, the dumplings were good and so was the fried rice, but the rest I barely tasted enough to judge. Dessert table wasn't worth it. I will not go back willingly. Price is cheap, but the food only so-so at best.

I'm not much of a buffet person, but this place is pretty darned good. I come here for the Mongolian BBQ and the sushi, and my boyfriend for the buffet and we both usually leave pretty happy. The Mongolian BBQ is yummy, fresh, hot and filling. The sushi is pretty good, the fish isn't super-unbelievable fresh, but it's generally kept pretty cool and is certainly palatable. The selection of the sushi is generally pretty good, although it's usually better on the weekend. There are raw oysters and clams on the weekends and they're usually pretty fresh. The soups are good, I really like their miso. They have single serve ice cream and standard buffet dessert fare: pudding, jello, cakes and puff pastries. The service is what you would expect from a buffet, filling drinks on the good days and not so much on the bad. Prices go based on height, presumably so children get a better deal.. although I guess really short people would as well. I'm 5'2" and I eat full price. Drinks are not included.

I cut a little slack for less-than-perfect service at a buffet. These people are doing what lazy over-paid Americans won't do now, but soon will now that politicians have "bailed out" the economy. Servers are basically there to herd cattle. FIne by me. If that's the case though the food had better be pretty tasty. At Hibachi it was.

First off, I love buffets. I grew up on buffets because 1. they are cheap/affordable and 2. they offer tons of variety. This being said, this place is not bad with the price ($12 for dinner) and variety that they offer. They have sushi which was not bad. Stick with the sushi pieces like salmon and the like. The sushi rolls were not that great. All the other food fare is not bad either. Some of the food sits out there too long, so it can be dry. The best food they had tho: they had PRIME RIB. AYCE prime rib. mmmm. make sure to get a piece in the middle. I didn't try their mongolian grill food, which would complete the "hibachi" and "sushi" title. This place is also pretty clean, which is a good sign. BUT, they could USE A SOFT SERVE ice cream machine. That would probably make this place 4 stars ;P

Went here with the boyfriend and his parents on Labor Day. I give the place a solid "meh." First off, I am not a fan of buffets - this is well known and documented. That said, I try to be an adventurous eater, and so am generally excited to try new restaurants. I have worked at a lot of restaurants, and I have NEVER once smelled such a foul-smelling dumpster. I understand a lot of what they throw away is seafood and fish, but this just seemed unconscionable, and certainly not good for business. It looks, at first, like there is a lot more variety of food than there really is. Pretty much all of it is standard Wok 'n' Roll-style Americanized Chinese food - very dull, with sauce that is ridiculously too-sweet. The sushi looks okay, with large portions, but there is very little variety (again), and after it is prepped, it sits out under hot lights. When we were there, I didn't even see any ice under it. I didn't even try any out of food safety concerns. The soups were okay, but like another reviewer said - the miso soup was the best thing I had here. NOT encouraging at all. I won't be back, but you can certainly do worse.

Yes, I like buffets. The more food variety the better and this place has a huge spread. For $12 (lunch is cheaper) plus the cost of a drink you can eat there until your heart is content, provided you get done within 2 hrs, cause that is their time limit. Choose from 5 different soups, a huge variety of fresh fruit and veggies on the salad bar, gorge yourself on Sushi that someone is rolling right there, or grab some fresh, raw ingredients and protein and have a Chef cook it up for you right in front of your eyes. Let me remind you, it costs $12 bucks! For that you do not get high quality food, but a lot of pre-made products that simply get heated and served. Nevertheless, all items were fresh, hot and looked presentable. They do however, also offer fresh steamed shrimp, fresh oysters, whole crabs and fried frog legs. The Sushi is not pretty, but does taste good. I am not a Sushi snob though, and I am sure some people will disagree with me. For anyone too embarrassed to stuff their face in public, you can also take it to go. Just pay by the pound and be on your marry way.

RUN!!! Run as far away as you can. Gross food, crappy selection, awful sushi. Clientele makes you ashamed to be there... Just.. stay away.

Good variety of food with fair price. Dishes normally don't see in similar buffet are Chinese style steam fish, small lobster, Korean pork chop, kimchi. Stir fried hot plate is fairly good. Freshness of food is a plus. Never taste the sushi though. Crowd in Saturday lunch fully occupy the parking lots. The fruit section is not as satisfied in a sense of cleanliness of the grapes. A place with variety of food and worth the price

  • Christine H.

Decent service, for a buffet restaurant...standouts are the korean style beef ribs, soups, peel and eat shrimp, and whole steamed crabs. Hey, for $12...it's a pretty good deal.

I looked this place up before I ate here & the review was horrible & I WISH I took their advice instead of wasting my time & money here. I've been wanting to try this place since it's new. If you want buffet, Hibachi makes Golden Coral look like gourmet. This place was horrible!! I am vegan so there's limited on what I want to eat, but not in the chinese food world. The fried rice was bland. The spring rolls had meat in it. The sushi bar.. what sushi bar?? I kept looking to see if it was longer & it wasn't. The shortest sushi bar ever! There wasn't even avocado rolls! The only vegetarian option was Inari rolls, which were extremely sticky. The miso soup was probably the best dish there... and thats just sad. I went up to see if the sushi chef would make me some avocado rolls and he ignored me, & decided to take his cell phone out of his pocket and call someone. So I sat down ate some of what was on my plate & tried again, because after all, that is why I even went to this stupid place! I asked him again & he gave me the meanest look anyone has ever shot my way. I first thought it was the language barrier but that guy looked at me as if I just murdered his children. I just wanted some freakin avocado rolls....... About 20 minutes later, yes, 20 minutes he decided to make them. The place was dead. He shoved them over to me & there were fish eggs all over them! When I told him this, he said "pick them out". uh, WHAT??! I was fuming. The little waitor boy kept apologizing the rest of my time there. Then when I saw the bill, I was even more pissed! $30 for the shittiest food ever. You will never see me again!!!!!!

My wife is more of a fan of the Hibachi than I am, but I think it is a good deal for lunch. Variety is pretty good for an Asian buffet, and I would agree with other reviewers that they have pretty much won over those who used to go to the Red Panda (which was my favorite). I would like to see less deep-fried stuff, but that would be my main criticism. As usual, stay away from anything that resembles standard American dishes like pizza, which I guess is there for the kids. We went there last during a weekday lunch, so there weren't many of them there, which was also a big plus (it was a school day).

I am not a buffet type of person. I don't want to say this place is good because it's really not. It's just alright... that's all I can say. Since this is not Japanese sushi buffet so i shouldn't expect much about their sushi? BC the sushi here really suck. I rather pay little more to go nice Japanese resturant to eat sushi. I love sushi and this place doesn't make me happy.

Poor service. Less than adequate food.

Large selection of food, but the food wasn't very good, service was bad, the place looks like your typical Asian buffet place. Cheap though, so what do you expect

Not sure why my first review was filtered. Maybe it was my humorous mention of being treated like a gwai lo which is entirely the truth. I don't know why....but I went back here with a friend I guess to see if the previous exerience (Now keep in mind I have been to this restaurant a dozen times before the Mother's Day incident and it has always been blah) was the going trend. The food has gone downhill. The sushi is warm and dangerous. At the mongolian grill station there was cross contamination of raw beef, shrimp, and scallop pieces across the vegetables. Most of the fare is overcooked and greasy especially the coconut fried shrimp and the stations are dirty. The service was terrible too. We had to wait FOREVER to get our drinks refilled and on the second refill got a diet coke when she knew I had been drinking regular coke. This place is just waiting for the health inspectors to shut them down or the people to abandon it for a better buffet. Tops China Buffet down the street for example has a smaller selection but is orders of magnitude better and has serve your own REAL Ice cream with about 8 flavor choices, a mongolian grill, and overall better food just no sushi which is probably a good thing since Hibachi's sushi will send you to the toilet.

  • Raph K.

One of the better cheap buffets in the area. The food is not bad for a buffet and they have a huge selection. I am addicted to their crab Rangoon's.

    (3)
  • N. S.

DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NOT RETURN!! This was a terribly over priced meal... The food was sub par even for a location like this. The grill master could not be found.... I would not return. I ate here with higher hopes.

I am not sure what happened to this restaurant. This used to be a pretty decent restaurant that was convenient, cheap, with numerous buffet options. I was away from the area for couple years, so last month was the first time I went in a long time. The first thing I noticed was how smaller the sushi choices were available. In the past, there were nearly double the selections. Regardless, I still went ahead and tried them thinking that they should be all right. I was wrong. I am just glad that I did not become sick after trying a few pieces. Another thing I noticed was that they changed their ice cream vendor. Their ice creams had been supplied by Shenandoah company. Currently, they are carrying this brand that I have never heard of and yes, they do not taste the same. While it is understandable that keeping prices low is not an easy thing to do, I feel that they are cutting too many corners. I miss the old Hibachi Buffet & Sushi

  • Christine F.

It's OKAY for buffet but not super impressive. I came in around 8pm on a Monday and they close at 10. The went super busy and so stuff wasn't very fresh or was coldish. The sushi didn't have as much selection and they closed half right after I walked through to see if I wanted to eat here. It's pretty big and they have a decent selection of food. I think I just came at a bad time. I want a hungry and couldn't decide what I wanted so I decide to try it, shouldn't even just gotten Thai.

  • Darlene A.

This place is disgusting. Point, blank, period. Truly disgusting. The rice on their sushi was crunchy. They made a sushi roll with PLANTAINS of all things... Their meat was dry, Chinese food was greasy. I have no good words to share about this place. EXCEPT that I appreciate the fact that when my fiance confronted management about how disgusting the food was, they didn't charge him for his plate. I ended up eating one whole plate of about 6 pieces of sushi and was charged 13$. So that was extremely upsetting, but I get that it's not charged by the amount of food eaten. Needless to say I will not be returning. Don't waste your money. You're better off eating at McDonald's.

  • Dave R.

Always excellent. I love the sushi. I usually start there and move to the hot food afterwards. The sushi is always fresh and made right before your eyes. I've only had the Mongolian grill a couple of times but it's been excellent every time I've eaten some. The desserts are not interesting or tasty, usually almost-stale cakes or a vat of vanilla pudding with a couple of sliced bananas to add a touch of texture. One star off for boring desserts.

  • Mitchell K.

One of my lunchtime favorites. I come here about once or twice a month. I usually eat at the cafeteria at work. But when I just cannot bear it anymore, I come here because it is all you can eat and the quality and selection are very good.

  • Nathaniel R.

This place use to be better I really don't know what happened but the food lost it taste to the point it all has the same flavor.there oysters taste like tap water and there salad has no taste at all and the frog legs have no taste either.baby clams were good like aways but most of the other food I ate wasn't that good

    (2)
  • Maria H.

Please don't eat here, spare yourself. There was no taste to the food, no customer service, and the smell was horrible. Even the Mac and cheese was orange.... Didn't even bother trying the sushi.

I love this place the food is so good . it had been a while but the food is much better..... :)

IT'S AITE!! :\ not bad not good -.- the service isn't very good. Chinese waiters could be talking shit about other customers (WHO KNOWS?!) I saw them made nasty expressions and talked in Chinese after they served this one table nearby. anyway, the foods were okay. They are...edible. I come here once a month of two because it's right very close to where I live. oysters were nasty here. most of them are very very small. some smells / tastes bad! The sushi here is pretty good. I think the fish is fresh. They have variety of soups and they are delicious :)

  • Josh G.

Not what I expect from a buffet. I understand food sits for a bit on the buffet and when it sits, it gets dry and loses it's freshness. The problem with this place is that it's consistently bad. I've been here on a slow night and a busy night. Both times, I was just disappointed. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get the "ice cream". It taste awful in every way. On a scale of poor, fair, good and excellent, I'd give the important criteria the following scores. Service: poor Atmosphere: fair Cleanliness: fair Taste: fair Variety: good Value: fair Final point: Only go if you're REALLY craving Chinese and don't care too much about good quality.

    (2)
  • Carey C.

Great place of you don't have any tastebuds. The food quality is horrible and really dry, the only thing that was good was the Jack & Jill ice cream. Probably because it's not made there.

    (1)
  • Adele J.

This is a very good buffet. Their sushi is pretty good, I wouldn't expect that from buffet sushi. It's always the first thing I get. They have a huge selection of food to pick from. This is definitely one of the best hibachi buffets I've been too. It's nice to go here every couple of months.

    (4)
  • Lee C.

Had high expectations when we came to eat, big mistake. The food was subpar (the beef tastes like it was purchased out of the trunk of a car on an isolated country road), and the buffet line appeal is so lacking that it drives you to the Mac & Cheese and French fry tray. Finally, don't let the name fool you; "Hibachi Steak" convinced me it was Japanese, but it's a typical greasy spoon Chinese buffet. Well, they have subpar sushi, so I guess the place is 1/15th Japanese. Eat somewhere else.

  • Phuong O.

$50.84 for 4 adults (dinner). If you come in on a day where they are not busy, You will be fed crap. No new food ever comes out so the food sits there all nasty looking. The sushi bar doesn't even look appealing, I did not dare to touch any of it. Their hibachi grill is a joke. It's tiny, the noodles that is there looked so dried and the guy that stirs your food doesn't look like he knows what he is doing. The ingredients that are left there looks so nasty. All the food are dried and cold looking. The dessert bar look unappealing as well. The fruits are all smushed looking. The center area where the hibachi is located at has a funky ass smell when u walk by. Barf... Like standing bacterial water. I will never come back. Over priced and a waste of money.

  • Stacy H.

It's not bad for a Chinese food + Japanese sushi buffet. Overall, it's a Chinese buffet. Decent selections for the price. Btw, you actually hear Chinese music in the background....a Japanese style place will not do that.

  • Marta D.

I've been there many times and have enjoyed the good but it's gotten progressively downhill. I went today for Mother's Day...no oysters, barely any sushi and very very dirty! I walked the salt and pepper shakers to the manager at the register. The waitress thought I was stealing them!! I was in the industry for 13 yrs and alllll of their table setup were beyond dirty. Caked on layers of black crud and some many finger prints they are embedded and can be felt to the touch on sugar caddy and Siracha sauce. I will not be back.

  • Jodi C.

Best Chinese Buffet in Manassas! It's fast, it's cheap, and it's good! The sushi is cold. That should tell you something right there!! Its not gourmet but if you want Chinese, a salad bar, a hibachi, a little sushi and a few random dessert options, this is the place for you. It gets packed... fast. Avoid the peak times, food turnover is faster but it's full of people and you get bumped into a lot. Saturdays are usually packed from open to close. It always being packed is a good sign for me means the food is generally good.

  • Victoria L.

Don't come with high expectations but the food might surprise you because it's actually decent. I try to make it here when they open because no one has touched the food, it hasn't been sitting out all day and no one has coughed on it! The food is hot and fresh. The food selection is decent from orange chicken to make your own stir fry. Can't go wrong with this place if you want good, all you can eat food for a cheap price. For a Chinese buffet around this area, it's pretty good!

    (3)
  • Christina T.

This buffet restaurant is pretty clean with diff variety of foods. The food selection isn't that great but the price is great, $10 per person for the brunch. (I came on a Saturday.)

This is a decent chinese buffet place. There is a large variety of different types of food and they have expanded the offering since I was last here about 6 months ago. The food is not top quality but is good quality for a buffet. The main line of the buffet is very large with some American foods and childrens foods. Pizza, fried chicken, mac and cheese, pizza on top of the typical chinese dishes. I like the seafood, this past Friday evening, they had red snapper, salmon, crawfish, salt and pepper shrimp, fried shrimp, a seafood bake (veggies, imitation crab, shrimp, baked in a white sauce), coconut shrimp, scallops, and one other kind of fish I can't remember. I am not a big sushi eater but I enjoy the California rolls here and several other varieties of sashimi rolls. Even at a little after 8 pm the food was fresh and plentiful and was being replaced as it was emptied. For a buffet, the food is four stars but the service can be lacking at times and the bathroom was disgustingly filthy. There werre pools of water/urine in the corners near the urinals and the smell was awful. Patrons are disgusting because they have wiped snot and spit on the walls but it is the responsibilty of the restaurant to clean it, not leave it there. For this I knock the rating back one to three stars. Teppanyaki Grill on Rt. 28 is the better choice for Chinese buffet of this type in Manassas but Hibachi is ok if you are this side of town.

  • Kelly P.

This was disgusting in my opinion. When this restaurant first opened, my family and I loved the food. But it slowly deteriorated over time, now it's unbearingly nasty. Not much variety of food and the sushi chefs tend to glare when you take sushi. I am not coming back.

If ur seats are close to the "sink" area, u wont be able to swallow any food. It stinks so bad. The food is not the same anymore. I dont recommend my frds to go there.

Place was dirty nasty food sucks smelly too never will i go there again . Service ,manager was very rude that place needs to be shut down. The seafood had a strong oder to it like its been left out all day just nasty Im actually going to call the HD on them.

3 people for dinner on a weeknight, 2 'Adults' 1 'Child' (11 years old) although we were all charged as adults because according to their policy, we met the height requirements. Yes, you read that right, prices are determined by your height! Under 36" tall - FREE 36' to 54" - HALF PRICE over 54" - ADULT PRICE (Dinner is $11.99) Food was mediocre. Buffet itself was cold and out of several options. If you have allergies don't get food grilled, as they'll do different things on the grill without washing it or the utensils used. Service wasn't anything to write home about. Total of check was $42 and some change - that included 3 'Adult' buffets ('cause we're tall), 2 sweet teas, and a water.

I'm so dumb. I saw all the warning signs and still went for it. A buffet with only two cars parked outside, hmmm, I was craving Chinese so I went ahead, first I got a distinctive whiff to sewage (nahhh it can't be) , I kept smelling the thing the whole time, appetizing. Food was of the lowest quality I have seen, even for chinese, then at the end they tried to get me with DInner price becuase I was leaving at 4:08 pm past the 4:00 pm DInner time (to get in you'll presume). I saw them charging the same to a group of five leave before me. Crooks ! and serving that kind of food .... where is the health department, now I'm with a very fetid case of the runs, which I rarely get unless I'm in the tropics. DON"T go there, read recent reviews and do your self a favor, even McD will be better.

2nd visit in two months. Wife and I got there right at dinner time thinking food would be fresh and hot. Rice was cold on bar, crab rangoons inside were still cold, must be frozen, BBQ ribs not cooked and many more fails. Told manager at front and he said he would have someone check it. He did and a girl came over stirred the food, moved the ribs around and shook the tray of crab rangoon. We had food on the Hibachi grill cooked for us. The guy asked twice do you want spicy and both times we said no. He still put spice on food. We did not eat. Girl comes to clear table and asks if that full plate is done, I said yes and she proceeded to tell me that I did not eat it and I said because it was not made correctly. She said well I should have taken it back. REALLY!! I paid and off we went most likely never to return. Don't waste your time, poorly managed, obviously do not care about food quality or taste and not worth the money.

If you want the rudest servers then this is the place. They tell you off in a second. But I was here with a group and in spite of the rudeness of my server she was good so I tried to tip her and she was honest and told me that they had already added 15% onto the bill which I hadn't noticed. So she could afford to be rude as the tip was built in. Oh well, I tipped her anyway. The food was fair but the bottom line is I would go back. The stocking was poor. I wanted a chicken breast but they only had chicken legs. When I asked one of the "stockers" for chicken breast they obviously didn't know what I was asking for as they don't speak English very well Lobster Bisque was fair. Mashed potatoes were REAL as I think I can tell the difference between real potatoes and the instant potatoes at anyplace but Popeyes as Popeyes has me baffled. The place has a million mirrors to make the buffet look two or three times as big as it actually it. The roast beef looked dried out but it really had a good taste though I had to wait for them to restock it for about 20 minutes.

It's a bit far out but definitely worth the drive. I mean are you serious?! A dinner buffet for $11.99?! The space used to be an Old Country Buffet. They have a hibachi station, sushi station and a huge buffet area. Not only do you have your typical chinese food but they had American food as well. I really like the freezer filled with individually packed icecream. The service is good and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. :) Yummy.

Went here with my husband and mom yesterday. The food is pretty mediocre...very unhealthy and Americanized. Seems like half of the food is fried in some way (and not in a good way haha). I had a few clams that were old and tasted pretty bad. Many were sandy inside as well. There were no oysters available during the meal either. I guess they don't refill that station too often since people probably would clear it out in a few seconds and offering a lot would make the restaurant less profitable. Their fried frog legs were overcooked and extremely chewy. The sushi was ok...about the same level as Todai I'd say but better than the two other times I've been to the Hibachi Buffet & Sushi in Chantilly. The crab was still warm and fresh tasting though. I also liked their fried plantains. Service was fine until the end of the meal. My mom tried to pay with an American Express Gift Card but the restaurant doesn't take American Express. The server informed her of that and she said "well that's stupid" referring to the policy of the restaurant. Unfortunately the server misheard her and thought my mom had called her stupid. She then proceeded to loudly tell any patron around us that my mom had called her stupid...AWKWARD! Next I overheard her ranting in Chinese about the same thing to a coworker. I'm sorry but if you want to loudly complain about a patron at least wait until they leave and do it out of earshot of other customers. It just seemed to be really bad taste/not classy especially since in no way did my mom call her stupid. This will be last time I go to a Hibachi Buffet & Sushi.

I was craving Chinese and couldn't decide what to have delivered so we decided to opt for a buffet instead so I could have a little bit of everything. It's been years since I stepped foot in a Chinese buffet and now I suddenly remember why. This place was pretty packed for 7:00 on a Sunday night and I found myself weaving in and out of the mass of people and wild rampant children in order to fill my plate. The chicken was mushy and all had the same flavor. We both felt pretty disgusting after our first trip but decided to suck it up and give it another go, after all I didn't wear my stretch pants for nothing. This round bf got some interesting-looking desserts at the "desert bar", none of which were labeled so he tried his best to distinguish what everything was. I decided to go for the American bar and loaded up my plate with roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, and some cucumber salad. The cucumber salad I must say was pretty delicious, I wish I had just loaded up my plate full of it both times. The roast beef was tough and overcooked. While the mashed potatoes were instant they actually weren't too bad. All in all we both wished we had skipped over the Chinese food options and just eaten the American food, or you know, gone pretty much anywhere else.

Went to Hibachi Buffet in Woodbridge, it was good... but when I went to this Hibachi Buffet! Totally different experience!! This place got lots of good stuff to pick.. Yummy appertizer like fried shrimp, spring roll, pot stickers, mash potatoes, etc. Plenty of other selection, including seafood! Not that fancy but still pretty tasty like baked fish, shrimp, mussel. My favorite was probably seafood pasta w/ cream sauce!!!! It was pretty good for a buffet! And they also got LOBSTER BISQUE!!!!!!!!!! and it was tasty......... c'mon now, what else do you need for a buffet. For the conclusion, you definitely got more than what you paid.

I wanted to some Chinese & explore this area so I came here with a friend for lunch 3 days ago. It was peacefully quiet and low key. We were seated and got our lunch. The food was ok, most of it was lukewarm but I didnt wanna sound like a crybaby and complain cuz its a buffet & I was hella hungry. All was smooth until a lil critter crawled across my plate. I was startled, embarassed and jumped outta my seat! My friend smashed the critter with his napkin, gave it to the waitress, grabbed our things and headed for the door. The staff had the nerve to offer 50% off but it wasnt going to go down like that! 2 stars for the comic relief outside the restaurant & the friendly staff. An old man tried to hustle me to death into getting my car cleaned for $20 and it wont happening. We also saw a guy running like Carl Lewis out of this buffet w/o paying and the waitress running after him begging him to pay his bill..LMAO!

Definitely a fan of this buffet. Dinner has a lot more choices than the lunch buffet and it's only a couple of dollars more expensive. There are plenty of good food choices so bring your appetite. There's sushi, chicken, beef, soups, ice-cream, and other great options.

It's a buffet, folks. If I wanted a top notch authentic Chinese experience, there are plenty of places to go. If I want to graze on cheap sushi and cheap Chinese offerings for 8.95 for weekday lunch, I'll go here. I don't understand why people downgrade a restaurant for failing to meet expectations that are inappropriate in the first place. This place gets busy quick. Knowing when the peak times are (just avoid completely on Saturday), you'll do surprisingly okay. The sushi offerings tend to be rice heavy like most places with less variety than Todai but at about half-price for comparable quality. On weekends, the seafood varieties such as broiled flounder and salmon and the occasional blue fish or snapper offerings are outstanding for a Chinese buffet. The non-seafood offerings and even some of the seafood offerings are hit or miss. It's just sort of the lay of the land and the second or third time you go there, you figure out what is good and what is not. This is really a 3.5 star review rounded down, but I'm giving them a 4 star review because so many people are complaining about a Chinese buffet... being a Chinese buffet.

Blecch. Almost every dish contained deep fried, sugary mystery meat. Very few vegetables of any kind, even on the "salad" bar where the lettuce was rusty. The sushi was light on fish and heavy on kimchee. The only bright spot was a very nice waitress who keep the drinks filled.

I have ever been to other Hibachi buffet. And I cannot find any special points at this buffet. Price; ok. Atmosphere; ok. Food; ok. Service; ok. Bathroom; dirty. I do not think I will come back here so often. Maybe once in a blue moon?

I used to live and work across the street from this place, so I ate here about 3 times a week for 4 months straight (please don't judge me!). They were always consistently excellent (for an asian buffet - we are grading on a sliding scale of awesomeness, right?) This is without a doubt the best asian buffet I've ever been to. I moved away about a year ago and I still think about making the 20 mile drive just for this place. The food is always hot and fresh during peak times and still surprisingly fresh even really late at night. The food is overall very good too. That's the secret to their success. They make good food and make sure it's always fresh and as a result they always have tons of customers, which means there is plenty of turnover on the food. For example, the mashed potatoes are REAL homemade mashed potatoes. Fried items are crispy. Some items are better than others, but the majority of items are excellent. They replace food trays before they are completely used which is a good thing - basically, when an item starts looking old enough that you wouldn't want to eat it they replace it with a fresh tray. There is one hibachi grill with a chef. They chef(s) are good and efficient so you pick what you want and they cook it immediately. It only takes a minute or two to cook because the grill is so hot. I like that they have the "ingredients" and meats in front of the hibachi grill for me to select - that way I can pick the pieces of meat I want and quantity and then just hand the plate to the chef for cooking. It comes out perfect every time and it would be well worth the price of the buffet for this station alone. They have a cute little dessert station but honestly I never really got to use it. The food is so good that you fill up on that, and if you have any room leftover you will probably be enticed by the really fresh fruit on the salad bar area. It's a nice mix of traditional asian-american dishes and american comfort food in a nice looking setting (used to be Old Country Buffet). For the price it really can't be beat and you leave there wondering how they can produce so much good quality food and still give it to you for such a low price. If you live within a 10 mile radius of this place I would definitely recommend checking it out.

I'm only giving this place one star because I can't rate them lower. The food quality is subpar and the service is equally bad. Save your money and go to a place where quality food is served.

Don't know what all the complaint is about. I found the food to be good. Decent selection. You have to pay extra for some sections of the buffet so i stayed mainly with the typical Asian dishes section. Lo mein and all that stuff. It is a buffet. You cannot go in expecting anything dazzling to begin with. That's what a buffet is for. Go in, eat mass amounts of food until you're about to explode then leave. I recommend the chicken wings. Spicy!

Hey.. it's a buffet and it's cheap. what more do you want? This place had been by my parents' house for awhile.. we never bothered to try it.. we figured "Asian restaurant in Manassas? uhhh no thanks".. Manassas does NOT have many asians compared to it's surrounding neighbors (Fairfax, Centreville, etc.). My dad decided one day to try this place out.. he said it was pretty good.. but he didn't say it was 'great'. i believe it is probably because he went to eat here by himself.. food is always better in good company! well I had moved out of my parents' home to my new home in Fairfax. After everyone helped me move, we had to stop by Manassas to pick up some stuff and decided to find a good buffet to eat at. We were almost going to go to Golden Corral but it is about $11 or $12 for lunch buffet on a weekend. We then suggested to try the Hibachi Buffet & Sushi because it was only about $9 for lunch buffet on a weekend. The food was pretty good for a buffet. They have a lot of expensive things there.. crawfish.. seafood.. sushi. My favorite is the kalbi korean style beef. Usually at the market when I by the L.A. Short Ribs.. it's quite expensive.. so I ate A LOT of these at the buffet to ensure I got my money's worth (is this correct grammar?). Also they have about 5 or 6 styles of soup.. I especially liked the Lobster Bisque.. which you don't normally see at asian buffets. There were real chunks of lobster in it. This is definitely one of the better buffets in Manassas. Can't wait to go back!

Let's get one thing straight. All-you-can-eat buffets are gross. The concept alone is nasty let alone the food. That said this place was pretty OK. -The meat dishes were tasty and no one got food poisoning. -The vegetarians in the group had plenty to eat. -DON'T EAT THE SUSHI. that should be obvious. -they have a stir fry station which is pretty cool. It's only $10 a head. Which in reality is a pretty awesome deal as there are thousands of places that cost more and are way inferior. That's the most backhanded compliment i've ever given but, eh it's the truth.

Ate at the one in Woodbridge a few years ago for dinner and it was pretty good, so since my boys have been doing well I decided to treat them on a Friday night! Since we got there about 830pm and it was just beginning to slow down in which is not good because they do not cook anymore food. I think after 8 they should drop the price a little. No Korean ribs, crab, and some of the good staples they normally have was very low especially the sushi. by then, but for what it is we all got full. I have to say that their coconut shrimp was really good.

You can't beat the price of this AYCE buffet. Selections include salad, desserts, fry bar, sushi bar, mongolian bar.,seafood. Place is like country buffet but they serve asian cuisine. This place is definitely cleaner than Peter pan. Its a good place to bring the family on a weekend brunch.Easy on the budget.

Me and my family always come here when we want japanese food! They have alot of selections in food items, they also have a hibachi grill to cook in front of you, and a wonderful all you can eat sushi bar! We love this place!! -Destiny

Food on buffet was mostly lukewarm or cold. Mongolian BBQ merited a 'meh'. Service was almost nonexistent - until it was time to pay the bill. Don't see a return trip in the near or distant future.

How much would you pay for a Chinese food buffet where everything is good? Hibachi Buffet & Sushi is definitely a place I would go back to and recommend it to family and friends. Tonight was my first visit and we arrived around 6:30PM. They were very busy. However the wait was not too bad. The aisle was a bit small and lots of families with small children running around is not safe. The service is good. They refilled drinks without have to ask for it and took the dirty plates away in timely manner. As far as Sushi goes... they offer good amount of Sushi options. Not as creative as Korshi Buffet in Centreville, but also you are not paying an arm and a leg for it. They have Chinese food, American food, Japanese Sushi and everything I tried tasted good and the ingredient they used tasted fresh. The seasoning were spot on. They offer so many options but unfortunately I was too full to fast to try them all.

I like Hibachi Buffet! When you go right at dinner time, the food is hot, fresh, and a buffet anyway, so help yourself and don't feel guilty about eating there :-) The staff is really nice, helpful and the place is generally clean. One time we went really late, around 9pm, and the food wasn't really that fresh but it wasn't bad. Nowadays I go for the sushi! One set price for a whole buffet and all-you-can-eat sushi? I'll take it! We go back about once a month or every other month, it's worth it.

Excellent Service and well-worthy food quality and quantity! We are a group of people passed Manassa every year on the way back to MD after ski in VA or WV. This is the 2nd time we ate in this buffet restaurant. The first time is not a very good experience as we arrived late (after 9:30 pm) and most of items are gone, the restautant is ready to close. So, we called in advance this time, the manager (Raymond) was very nice and helpful. He promised that as long as we notice him ahead of arrival, he would ask the kitchen to keep the items we like on the buffet tables. Actually we arrived early and all the foods are on the table, we had a great time there. All the kids and adults satisfied with the food. Service is good also, although the non-chinese servents are bit attitudes, the chinese waitress are wonderful! We will defintely come back again!

You get what you pay for... any place that offers unlimited portions for under $20 is bound to be pretty sh!tty... The quality of the food is below average, the cuts of meat at the Hibachi are low quality, and the vegeteable options are poor... the Sushi bar offers limited options and the the sushi chefs are unlikely certified... the hot bar has alot of options but after trying everything there was only one (bourbon chicken) option that tasted ok... but then again, its a buffet, and we are not in vegas, so what do you expect... It gets 2 stars because you will be full.. not very happy, but full...

i don't want anyone to come here, as it's my fave new buffet place :) food is fresh, the salad bar has a fab selection of greens and toppings...seafood and sushi was really good too.. yummmmy !! but i only come here about 4pm or so to avoid crowds.. did come once about 8-big mistake..selections were low, and too many people..

A step above the typical Chinese buffet. A nice variety of dishes, including a big salad bar, plenty of sushi, several soups, and even mashed potatoes. We ate there around 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon and everything I tried was hot and fresh. Service was friendly; drinks were filled and plates cleared promptly. A good value for $10.

Although a lot of the food here is mediocre, I must admit there is a surprising amount that is beyond the typical buffet fodder. The two dishes that stood out the most for me were the Korean short ribs and the honey coconut walnut shrimp. Definitely not the healthiest options but greasy deliciousness at its best. Sushi was okay. Not great, not terrible. And I don't care what anyone says but cream cheese definitely does NOT belong between rice and seaweed. I'm not a fan of buffets but I actually enjoyed this one which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.

  • John K.

This place is the definition of mediocre Chinese buffet, the food is just always sitting, servers sit you down then go back to sitting at a table with other employees and just chat-chat the whole time, interior looks old and musky, & I question their sanitation. Prefer to pay the same amount and drive the equal amount to the Chantilly location to prevent a lousy meal and possibly food poisoning...

Went with the family a total of 7 people, they sat us at a table for 6 and when asked if we could sit at the larger table right next to the small table we were told NO. The place was empty on a Tuesday at 6:30pm. We ask to servers if we could have the larger table and once again was told NO. We left since the food they had out looked like it had been out for awhile. We have been there many times but will not return

Excellent buffet, especially on weekends. Fresh salad bar, and the seafood s consistently good. The grilling guy at the hibachi lost them a star. He is consistently grim and rude and should not be in a public spot.

Been here several times since the first review. It has apparently "beaten" the competition hands down. Wok 'n' Roll is out of business. Red Panda Buffet is out of business. What else is there to say. Everyone comes here now.

Never go to Hibachi Grill in Manassas. the food was obviously left out since lunch time and was dried out and over cooked. the waitresses wont even check your drinks unless you figure out which one it is and ask them to do it. they refuse to cook the rice with the other ingredients on the grill. The cook took his spatula and scraped everything of my rice and left the rice on the plate up on the counter. he grunted five minutes. when i came back there was two plates one of which was the rice covered with blood from the raw beef. When I asked the manager he told me that they don't cook the rice because "its too messy". when i questioned why it couldn't be cooked the way that I, the paying customer, wanted I was told that I should "respect" the restaurant and eat it the way they made it. He was very rude and quite offended that we questioned the quality of the food and service. I have read the other reviews here and its obvious that they have not been to other Hibachi grills such as the ones in winchester, Charlottesville or Lynchburg. the sushi is of very poor quality and selection. The salad bar is non existent and anything other than cocktail sauce doesnt appear to be available unless you ask for it. When we asked why the staff didnt know what yum yum sauce was he told us because we didnt know the right name for it. Thats funny they know what it is in all of the other grills and its right out on the bar with the other sauces. I have given this place three chances and its been worse every time.

The service is miserable; my server brought me 1 glass of water and I never saw her again! I had to enlist the help of another server to get my water refilled, get chopsticks, and get plates cleared. The server never checked back. Nor did I even receive my check. I reported my concern to the manager who defended his server by saying we are busy and since I was alone and seated in a corner booth she did not come to me. Great is that an excuse for being ignored and being left to find another server?!

    (1)
  • Sandy C.

For an Asian buffet in Manassas, not bad.. I'm sure I've had better but given the choices out here...I think it'll do. Hibachi has some different choices of cuisine- they have a "Mongolianesque" bbq, sushi, oysters on the shell, a variety of shrimp dishes, ribs, mussels, clams, and then you're typical Chinese fares :) The service doesn't exist beyond removing dishes, getting drinks, and then when it came time to leave I couldn't find the wait staff to give me the check. I'm definitely not a fan of their service but the food is half way decent. Don't expect to much. You get what you pay for...under $15 buffet, what can I say? It's cheap :/

  • Lisa R.

Rate this for what it is and not what you want it to be; a Chinese American buffet in manassas, for under $13 for dinner, and even less for lunch. I love seafood and shell fish, which always run out here, so I make sure to grab the goodies as soon as they leave the kitchen. The sushi leaves a bit to be desired, but again, this is no Todai, nor is it pretending to be. The desserts could be a bit better selection wise, but overall not bad. For your money, for it's location, and for the quality of food you get, this is a great find.

Its what you would typically expect of a buffet, a large variety of food items but only a handful of what you would really choose to eat. The peel and eat shrimp had a weird taste...didn't care much for both of their wrapped dumpling offerings. Never tried their sushi maybe because they had a warning sign over the food. The restaurant seemed pretty crowded just after 6pm. The food was in my opinion average...nothing really struck me with" damn that's awesome" although I did experience a couple of "ewe yucks!". Atleast the unsupervised children running around entertained me! :-)

RUN!! Dont walk.. RUN AWAY from this place. Looking atht eh reviews, there were some good ones in there so me and the Hubs thought we would try it out... on no. We wasted our money on this place. Hibatchi... HA! Me thinks not. The Hubs got some food off the hibatchi and it was incredibly bland! He put an egg in with his stuff, the guy didnt even chop up the egg, just basically put a fried egg back on my husbands plate, the shimp and chicken were barely cooked. And it was a runny mess when it was placed on the plate for him. I am not a big Sushi fan, but I will eat it some.. this stuff was so bad! The rice was overly sticky. The food in the actual buffet was nothing impressive, it was all luke warm at best and very unflavorable. I know it is a buffet, but they could have done so much better... was not appetizing at all and we will not be returning there. EVER!

Disclaimer: I HATE buffets, people breath all over your food, little germy kids are always touching ish and putting it back; heck the list could go on and on but I digress. I kinda syumbled upon this place when I had a strong taste (not craving) for fried rice and lo mein. I actually visited another spot right before this one and just decide to try this place on a whim. I remember this spot back in Ga named Hibachi so I thought it would be the same (let's just say different). I went in with the expectation of getting the food to go. The bar was very clean and the cashier was very nice. They explained that you have to have a different plate (more expensive) for sushi. I also saw that having seafood was more expensive. Because I only eat certain things, I personally recommend that you view the bar before paying or making a decision to eat there. If you like buffet food this would totally be the place for you. I can't give my experience on the waitstaff because I always get it to go. If you have kids beware because I think they charge based upon height and not actual age.

Ok. I gave a good review when I first went there last year. Lately for the last 3 times, the wife and I gave them the chance to redeem themselves. It appears the place has now gone down hill. Food is now like any other AYCE. I will not be going back.

I very rarely eat at buffet spots but I can say that this was pretty good considering what you normally get, which is gross. To my surprise most of it was actually very tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the Korean style bolgogi (although the kimchi was bad) and loved the dim sum style dumplings. I totally overstuffed myself with fried plantains. I tried some ribs (a little dry) and a moist rib roast. I liked the string beans but the bok choy was too soggy. I suspiciously selected pieces of sushi which turned out okay. The dessert cakes were all dry but the mango was sweet. Overall not too shabby, since you can try a small sample of things and always go back for more. Another bonus is its affordability. Even with 9 adults and 2 kids, the bill was quite manageable. It's about $12 a person. In the end, I think the appeal was the huge variety of food there and the price point. I would go back again once in a while.

I was recently back in VA and my family had been raving about this new buffet in Manassas. Since my dad and I hadn't been there yet, we decided to check it out. First of all, the price is really decent. It came out to about $25 for the two of us, which is virtually unheard of at other buffets, especially for dinner. The sushi was pretty good although they didn't have a wide selection. Their rolls were pretty good combinations of spicy tuna with seaweed and daikon and the usual salmon and cream cheese. Miso soup was not as good. Since I was fasting from meat temporarily, I couldn't try any of their meat. My dad however got plenty and was sadly disappointed by how tough everything was - the steak, spareribs, etc. At these kind of buffets, you definitely have to be vigilant when it comes to the seafood. My dad somehow snagged a crab for me but when I ate it, the meat was mushy (meaning the crab had been dead for a while before they cooked it). However, my dad made up for this bad crab with a bunch of raw oysters, after which he told me not to eat so much raw stuff. Not sure why he plied me with raw oysters then... Overall, I'm just giving this buffet 3-stars. I did like the Chinese greens in garlic sauce, sushi, and oysters but everything else was just ok to eh. I definitely feel like I've been to better buffets, especially in the northern VA area.

Ok, so my friend and I decided to give this place a shot since it had just opened up. Having lived here in Manassas for my entire life, I knew this place had been an Old Country Buffet before, and, if I remember correctly, was a seafood buffet prior to that. I went in here knowing the place would be huge and full of places to sit, and that it was. It did have a pretty good amount of items on the buffet, but everything was cold, hard, and lacked flavor. They also, of course, feature a hibachi area where you pick out your meat, veggies and rice, and the chef makes it in front of you, which i thought was pretty cool. However, both my friend's and my hibachi orders were quite bland and disappointing. On to the service. Of course at a buffet you don't expect great service because, hey, you ARE getting up to get your food yourself, but really, was there a need for two servers to stand RIGHT next to my table and talk the entire time we were there? And the waitress we did have for drinks and a steak knife (you only get a fork at the table.), rarely came over to our table at all (she also had a hard time speaking and understanding English, but I will not hold that against her. I just wished she'd been a little more attentive.). Overall, we left still feeling kind of hungry (yeah, everything was THAT inedible) and felt we could have spent the same amount of money (about $14 each, I think) on far better meals elsewhere. Not recommended.

A pretty decent selection and because there is a good stream of diners the food gets turned over fairly quickly. Mongolian is well prepared. Good selection of seafood. The steamed fish and the various shrimp dishes are my favorites. If you are focused on sushi, it is ok but not alot to choose from. Lunch price is good, dinner price is ok. Service is typical buffet.

Don't let the name of the restaurant fool you. Hibachi Buffet & Sushi. It should be called Chinese Buffet & Mongolian Grille. I was anticipating for some AYCE sushi and various grilled meats but this wasn't the case. I was very disappointed to learn its just another typical chinese buffet you'll find anywhere in Norva. There is a small station for the sushi and the sushi & rolls were absolutely terrible!! The rice was way too sticky and the fish was cut too thin. After several pieces and couldn't eat anymore. There are many chinese selections to choose from but many of the dishes were luke warm, veggies were over cooked and the tastes were too bland. Overall very disappointing. For me, the corn on the cob was the only good thing that was on the buffet. I ate about four to get my money's worth ($35 for two including tip) kinda steep for a chinese AYCE 2 stars for the cleanliness of the restaurant. Not worth coming out to Manassas unless you live there.

Only reason why i go here is to fill myself with bunch of random food for a cheap price. But again, what you pay is what you get. there arent that much of sushi selections but bunch of chinese food. So you make a call.
