Went with family. The salad bar is really good and looked really fresh. The salad dressing was thick not watery. I ordered flounder and everyone else ordered something different. Absolutely no complaints. Waitress as very attentive. Thank for making the outing enjoyable!

A great spot to stop by for some good ole hone cooking. The food bar is average, and the entrees are fairly good. The entrees are also reasonably priced. The service here is EXCELLENT, and the waitress we had was very patient with our table of 5 adults and 3 raucous children. The food bar is a fairly good deal. You get endless vegetables, soup, bread, various salads (potato, macaroni, etc.), and desserts for only a little over $6. You can also get a food bar included with your entree, which makes it a really good deal. Certain items on the bar, however, weren't spectacular. The corn was bland, and the lima beans were mediocre at best. The soup, though, was delicious! And the endless servings is an added plus. Some of the desserts are really sweet, which can be good for those with a sweet tooth (I'm not a huge sweets fan). It's easy to eat healthy and unhealthy either way, and it's a great place for the whole family. Also, on Monday nights, kids eat free!

Don't ever try the meatloaf! I love this place, but the meatloaf is god awful! Tastes like charbroiled cardboard.

Stellar service, delicious food, and friendly atmosphere. The grilled meatloaf is to die for, and the weekend breakfast buffet is out of this world. Everything you'd expect on a breakfast buffet plus made-to-order omelets. We frequently drive down from Nelson Country just to dine here.

Country Cookin' is a nice cross between buffet places and sit down restaurants. You are seated and order off the menu and then proceed to get salad, soup and maybe even some side dishes from the buffet bar. Everything you want may come with the entree. After the entree has been devoured, check back with the buffet for some of the excellent desserts. You can order just the buffet for $6.99, , although it has no "meat" entrees, but lots of other things. I had the Country Fried Steak, which was sublime- comfort food at its best. - a half pound hamburger steak, lightly breaded and fried then covered with a smooth and tasty white gravy. You can easily cut it with a fork. It came with baked potato, french fries or baked sweet potato. My companions both had steaks, one with a bourbon sauce, and both thought they were excellent. The sides and salad fixings on the buffet were very fresh and attractively set out. The gumbo was magnificent.The place is easy to spot on the Amherst highway and there's a private parking lot. The service was very attentive and efficient and the ambiance of the place was warm. We felt very welcome and appreciated.. Prices are quite reasonable. We'll be back. .

Big buffet. Great desserts. I love their chicken fried steak plate. It's a large portion (too big). Did I mention they have desserts on their buffet? They are pretty good. Kids eat free on some nights with adult purchase.
