Staff isn't very friendly or attentive. Food isn't all that great.

Food was good and our sever, Justin, was excellent. The hostess, Evelyn, however; was a royal B*TCH! We had a party of 4 Plus 1 child needing a regular seat and a baby needing a high chair. She seats us at a small table for 4. She throws the menus down and walks away (I hate when hostesses do that...isn't that their job to "SEAT" you?!). When we stood there wondering why she took us to that table and looked around for something bigger; she returned and we asked her if we could move to a larger round table. She immediately had an attitude and snapped "yeah, you can move wherever you want..you said you wanted a high chair"...I replied, "Yes, but we also have 1 child that needs a seat!!". She marched over, with a total attitude, to the round table and threw our menus down and stomped off to the hostess desk and proceeded to talk crap to the other hostesses about us. We could easily see her face scowling and her mouth running, and the other hostesses look back at us. Really?? Are you 15 and working here? I almost took my group and left then; but then Justin; and his awesome PROFESSIONAL personality came to take our drink orders and was a total delight. He was WONDERFUL, professional, and efficient. I'll be writing the manager about the hostess and her attitude and how professional she was. If you have people like this at your front station; it's definitely a turnoff. And like I said, if it wasn't for the waiter; I would have definitely scratched this place of my list and left immediately.

Just OK, i've been probably 25 plus times. I go cause its close. If you live close and you want convenience then go, but dont make a trip out of it.

A delicious trip! I am so glad to have decided to check out the local restaurants around my new place in Lorton and bump into Fireside Grill. Prepare your taste bud and senses for delicious artisan & upscale looking platters, without hurting your wallet too much. Our check was around $60 for 2 people that included a Starter (Delicious) + 2 Entrees (Umami) + 2 Smoothies (Lipsmack) + a Cute mini dessert (Nom). Boy were our tummies happy. Will definitely go back there, will try to aim for the all you can eat Sunday brunch.

I'm pretty generous with my star rating usually and try not to go below three stars unless the place was awful. This restaurant is a perfect example of what I rate as three stars. Forgettable but with some good stuff, meh service, really big but mostly empty on a Saturday, and just benefits from the location and nice patio but probably won't be around too long. Having said that the food actually wasn't bad. I say forgettable because I went a week ago and literally had to go to the online menu to remember what was ordered. And still can't fully remember. What I do know is that I left thinking the prices weren't outrageous and the food was satisfying. The fish tacos were actually excellent with good seasoning and not overcooked. The toppings went very well also. The Spanish rice side was well cooked also. The bread and spread that came out was surprisingly good. The shrimp saganaki was weird, something about the cheese combo and sauce didn't fit. And the other thing we ordered wasn't very good because for the life of me I can't remember what it was. So some pluses and minuses, the Italian place nearby is better but more pricey and this isn't a bad alternative. There really should be more restaurants in the Lorton town center like most town centers.

FIVE stars! I was craving some grilled food and I accidentally stumbled upon this place on Yelp while looking for a place to have dinner at. The place is very easy to find and there's plenty of parking spaces in the back street. It's spacious with lots of places to sit (booths and tables) and they also have tables outside if you want to dine in open air. There're a lot of items to pick from in their menu. Too many good stuff, but I had to make a decision and pick only one, which is sad :(. We started with the Sesame Crusted Ahi tuna with plum & Sriracha sauces, it was so gooood. We asked for the Tuna to be well done, though. I went for the Shrimp and Scallops in Lobster Sauce for an entrée. I really didn't want to finish that plate because it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. One of the best pasta plates I've ever had! Yes, EVER. My fiancé had the Seafood Thai Style dinner plate, and of course I had to try some of it, It was deliciously FLAVORFUL! The Thai curry sauce is is what gives this plate its special taste. I'm glad I found out about this place. Everything was delicious and our waitress was friendly, welcoming, quick, and courteous. Definitely going back to try more plates.
(5)Nicole W.
Went there a couple times, wasn't super impressed with any of their selections and it was a bit costly. I probably won't go back any time soon even though I live on the same street and it would be super convenient.
(3)Bennie T.
Staff is super friendly. It was a bit pricy but understandable. The mood of the place is worth the visit. I my drink was a bit too much though.. Other than that, it was great to be there
(4)Taylor D.
This place seems really understaffed, lots of tables, 20 min waits and hardly any staff. The table we sat at was so tiny for four people we couldn't eat without knocking into each others plates. I had the seafood pasta, the asparagus was really soggy and the shrimp still had shell on them. Vomited the entire thing up the next morning. Also there are a lot of typos on their menus like Lamp Chops and Lamp Lollipops and what is an Airline Chicken?
(1)David F.
Pretty slow tonight, but they are doing a good job taking care of customers when they get to you. I applaud the effort.
(3)Ashley T.
good food, good atmosphere overall a great dinner choice. Ordered the tilapia with crab and it was delish! Husband ordered the peppered steak which was also tasty. We will definitely be back.

Ok. Thank you to the manager who took the time to respond to my review. Also, thank you for making suggestions on certain dishes to try out. Thank you also for being kind and professional. (I've been ripped a new one before from other management for my "honest" reviews). Anyway, I've come back several times. Those times I did NOT order the ahi tuna. =) First time back since my last review was for lunch. I took the manager's suggestion and ordered the tilapia tacos. Presentation was nice and they actually looked yummy. They actually weren't bad. But me being the San Diego snob (where I have not come across a place with better tasting fish tacos), they weren't the best. The tilapia to slaw ratio inside the tacos were a bit disappointing. I had a ton load of slaw, and a tiny piece of tilapia in each taco. Flavors were not bad though. Thanks for the recommendation. I may give these another shot. Second time back since my last review was with the boy. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered a chicken salad with balsamic dressing and he ordered the ribs. Even though I just got the salad, I thought it was delicious? Why? The balsamic dressing is probably the best tasting balsamic dressing I've had. Serious. Who would have thought? Yeah I know. I get excited over salad dressing. But I eat a lot of salads. SOmething's gotta balance out all the other "not so good for you foods" I consume. (Or so I like to tell myself...) I didn't get to try any of the ribs because the boy ate them so fast. So I take that as being good. =) Third time back was with coworkers. Oh you better believe after a loonnnggg week of work, we were ready to hit those cocktails. As I've mentioned before in my last reviews, the cocktails are REALLY good. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit outside. I ordered the cucumber cocktail (because who doesn't LOVE Hendrik's Gin--not many places have Hendrick's gin so Two thumbs up Fireside Grill for having this). It was DELICIOUS!!!! SO good that my coworkers kept stealing sips of my drink until I had to tell them to get their own! We started off with the quesidillas. Those are actually good. Main entrees we all ordered the flatbread pizzas. I for the steak and cheese, co worker 1 got the mushroom one and coworker 2 got the margharita. We each ate off each other's plates and they were not bad. For some reason my crust was really soggy, but whatever. I'll try it again and ask them to make the crust extra crispy or "well done". Service was superb as always all those times. Thanks again Mr Manager for responding back and your suggestions. We came, we tried (again), and we will come back again. this time for both the food and drinks. But I probably won't get the ahi tuna. =)
(4)Sara S.
They have excellent grilled chicken. The service was great as well, fast and friendly. Also have great premeal bread.
(4)Megan S.
AMAZING food, very comfortable and casual atmosphere, attentive wait staff...what more could you desire?! We enjoyed a relaxing Friday evening dinner. Definitely coming again!
(5)Ernesto G.
This is my "Cheers" the best food, ambience, people in the area. The quesadillas are outstanding, Melaura ,Sarah, & Troy are wonderful bartenders only eclipsed by Tom Cruise in Cocktail :) it gets the official "good to go" from the Marine :)
(5)Marivic L.
Fireside grill is a good neighborhood place - not MY neighborhood, but my friend's :) This place is spacious, comfortable, and casual. It has a pretty big bar area that seems like it takes up half the space - and that's the area I like to be in for happy hours or just grabbing some lunch or dinner. The service is good and friendly. The food I've had have ranged from different kinds of flat breads to their pot roast. Everything has been good - and if you're really hungry and need comfort food, the pot roast is a must. The meat is tender, the sauce is so flavorful, and the veggies are so good. Also, their bread basket and their flavored butter are nom.
(3)David R.
We have teied theem several times and has always been a let dow. Both the food and service are subpar.
(2)Sean C.
Nice atmosphere and the server was polite although he never smiled. I went here with my wife on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy a nice dinner. I ordered the free range chicken breast which was very bland and seemed unseasoned. My spinach with bacon was mushy and swimming in a pool of liquid and my asparagus cooked in garlic butter just like steamed plain ol' steamed asparagus. I added salt and pepper but it could only help out so much. On to my wife's "salad." this was just a solid piece of romaine lettuce with a chicken breast and tomatoes on top. THEY DIDNT EVEN CHOP UP THE LETTUCE!!! If I wanted a head of lettuce I would go to a grocery store. This place charges $17-20 a dish like it's a prestigious restaurant with high quality food. Maybe the food is high quality but the flavor is severely lacking. I eat at quality restaurants in D.C. and this doesn't hold a candle to them. They have the same foods as those restaurants but the flavor is on the opposite end of the spectrum. I wish I had a better experience as this is close to my house and in a nice area with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. Thanks, Sean

First off let me take off my eyeglasses & be frank: I only come here to drink & get my buzz on cuz it's close to home & I like to sip good after a long week. The bartender I always have, young man w/glasses, sorry I can't recall his name but he is really great & my drinks are ALWAYS on point & potent! Staff seems real cool. 4 stars cuz nothing on their menu makes my mouth water cuz idk what half of it is, call me sheltered if you please, it's cool. I did have some sort of quesadilla appetizer once & I didn't care for it all. Bottom line: This is the spot to get 'lifted' with 'spirits' lol

I came here for dinner with a friend last week and had a pretty good experience! Pretty shortly after being sat, we were brought warm bread and herbed butter (yum!) I decided to order the grilled steak flatbread sandwich, which was super messy but super delicious. The meat was nice and tender, the caramelized onions and bell peppers were soft and flavorful, and the merlot sauce/aioli combo was absolutely delicious. I definitely needed more than one napkin while I was eating, but it was wellllllll worth it. Our waiter was very attentive but definitely a little awkward (definitely did not take away from the experience, but definitely gave us a few laughs.) Overall, I had a good experience, a great meal, and would come back if I was in the area!

I had high expectations for this spot but wound up disappointed (cue sad trombones). Great location in Lorton Station providing an great opportunity to shine as a casual neighborhood spote. I went for Sunday brunch, the restaurant, which is beautifully decorated and quite large, was near empty, things that make me say, "hmmmm.....". I was greeted by a friendly hostess and shown to my table. The service, was good, but the brunch buffet food was not. They offer the standard fare e.g., eggs benedict, pancakes, bacon, French toast, fruit, and assorted lunch items but they are just not well prepared OR they have been sitting for some time. I wanted a homemade roll but the staff never restocked the container. Their dessert offerings were lacking, I mean they had desserts but they were unappealing and rife with gelatinous goo - I passed. Overall, this restaurant has great promise but if they want to be successful in the Sunday brunch market they need to significantly step up their game.

I had high hopes for this restaurant when it opened. The food started out very good, but expensive. Now, the food's just okay, and it's still expensive. The restaurant itself is nice, and the service is good. But the menu is limited and I don't think they've changed it since they opened. Fireside Grill strikes me as one of those places that believes that charging higher prices makes you exclusive, but hasn't caught on that the food still has to be good. If you go, do it at lunch and get one of their paninis . Don't bother with dinner.

Great steak.. We got the filet merlot, nice looking place and great location with nice outdoor seating. Servers were very nice and the whole experience was pleasant. I was thinking to give this place 4.5 stars for the sole reason that it was so dead when we went.. But it is Monday night after all and hopefully my giving it the extra half a star more people will' be there next time I go! :)

Stopped in around 9 on a Friday night. He place was empty except for a few people at the bar. We ordered the sirloin and grilled chicken breast. The value for the price is very poor. My chicken breast was roughly the size of a medium sized thigh anywhere else and was extremely dry. The "Demi glaze" was nothing more than a brown gravy packet with some basil in it. The spinach with bacon was without flavor and the enormous plate emphasized how little we were getting for our money. The steak was ok but the vegetables were terrible. My wife put them akin to how a stable smells. Sometimes an empty restaurant is a boon, tonight it a sign to stay away.

About a year or so ago we went here for brunch and the reason there is no review was because we can't review what did not happen. No one came to offer drinks (this after a 20 minute wait in a restaurant with many open tables), tell us about the brunch, etc. Went to where the food was to see what was being served but we only had to go so far as the pick-up point for plates as there were food particles on them. Needless to say, we left. Well, we decided to give the restaurant a 2nd chance as we were told it was under new management. The service definitely improved...we were only 2 minutes away from leaving when someone came to get our drink order and then immediately left without telling us how the brunch worked or if we were even there for the brunch. Another waitress came by to fill us in and as she was talking, the first girl leans between my wife and the waitress and gives us our waters. My opinion is she could have waited the 2 minutes, but hey, that's me. We then ordered coffee and OJ and proceeded to get our meals. Pretty standard fare for a brunch - runny eggs, utensils that have been used in more than one type of food and not replaced, and the standard ten (10) minute wait for waffles, just like at home. Oh wait, it NEVER takes 10 minutes to make waffles and that was with being the only person at the waffle line. And just a hint to management, don't put seafood under the same cover as bacon...for those of us who are not seafood fans, opening and expecting to smell bacon but instead smelling the Eastern Shore just is not a good thing. We got back to our table to see that the OJ was delivered, with ice. Really?? Who does that??? Oh, one would think that the OJ would be fresh squeezed, but it was not. Straight from a can! The bacon? Skip it and buy some at Costco and make it yourself- it will taste, and smell, much better. Save yourself and go just a few feet across the street to Pane E Vino who has a lovely brunch at the same price-point.

Came here on a whim with the hubby for a date night. I have seen it driving by plenty of times and thought, "Wow, it looks nice!" Especially, after seeing Lorton before Lorton Staion was built, the upgrades and additions made Lorton more enticing. We ordered the Portobello Burger with potato wedges and their house slaw. My hubby ordered the Shrimp and Scallop pasta with Lobster Cream Sauce. The Portobello burger wasn't much to begin with. I didn't have high expectations for it since it is simply a plain "mushroom" sandwich. BUT I did have some for the potato wedges and slaw. The wedges were overseasoned (not salty) and the slaw was bleh. The hubby's meal? He had to season it heavily with salt and pepper. I couldn't even tell I was eating seafood. It was just creamy madness of no flavor. To be fair, if someone wanted to come here, I'd rather try brunch since their dinner menu didn't appeal to me. But I won't be suggesting this place off the top of my head. Forgettable....
(2)Lee B.
Great location with good service. Chorizo appetizer from the grazing menu very interesting, pairing balsamic with bell peppers nice but add the chorizo? Actually very nice not anticipated. The menu as a whole I found pedestrian and could not decide. I ask the server for a recommendation. The pot roast was spot on tender and very homey for a cold evening. Dessert well not so spot on served in small ramakins. Creme caramel was very gummy however the key lime pie gets an ok.
(4)Adrienne M.
Atmosphere is pretty good here. I had the lobster bisque, which was fantastic! The rest of the food was ok. Standard American. For my meal I chose the ribs: the sauce was too sweet for my liking but the meat was tender. The mashed potatoes were good (chunky), but the grilled veggies had absolutely no flavor. My hubby had the same sentiments. No love lost though, I'll try this place one more time before I officially make a verdict.

I had a very large going away luncheon at the restaurant because my team (11 people) ate here for our holiday lunch in December 2014. First let me say that we sent our order in via email, as requested and the hostess of our event went over early to make sure they got the orders (about 30 people) straight. Quite a few of us had the soup and salad or salad with chicken on top. The wait was way too long for what was ordered. After being seated for 30 minutes and the only item that I was served was my soup, I asked to speak to the manager who was inside the office instead of assisting, from what I was told, an employee in training. He was apologectic about the wait but still did not assist with bringing food to the table. The actions of the management was unacceptable and he needs to return to training himself. As a government employee of a large agency, I will ensure to tell my co-workers that they may need to extend their lunch hour in order to be served in a large group. Now to the food. I had some kind of seafood soup where the only kind of seafoood in it was some kind of fish along with shredded carrots in a beef broth?? My dad had the Marinated in herbs, extra Virgin olive oil and garlic, grilled and served with roasted chicken demi glace and three-potato smash. The chicken breast had quite a few tendons attached which made it difficult to cut and the 3 potato mash was not even mashed. It looked like cut up potatoes and it had no flavor. Needless to say I had high expectations of the restaurant going in since they were pretty good in December. They have done a great job today of lowering the expectations. Mainly management, poor quality of food sure did not help today.

I recommend that the menu change to exciting appetizers with a rotating menu to target happy hour clientele. There are a lot of apartment and middle-class housing in the surrounding neighborhood. We dropped in for lunch today after a busy morning and ordered BBQ ribs and a mixed plate of chicken and sausage. Although the meat itself was decent quality it was not made to order. Clearly the food is primarily made in the morning and served through lunch. I suppose the chef checks in prior to the dinner crowd, if one exists, and fires up some fresh food. The wait staff was friendly, but I did observe a few of them snaking and drinking within the public view. The restaurant was clean and there was popular music playing throughout the establishment. I do not think we'll be stopping by anytime soon.
(2)Jessica K.
I came here for an event I helped decorate. The staff were really friendly and I had no problem setting up. The food was buffet style. All the food was really good, I especially enjoyed the salmon-it was cooked very well. I didn't get to enjoy the dessert table because I was full from my main course. Overall, I had a great experience.

Best meal I've had out in a long time. You could smell the wood smoke when you walk up to the door. When I read about people ordering fish tacos or Thai style xyz, I just shake my head, I would never go that route. Obviously you'd want something to take advantage of a wood powered grill. We were early (avoiding 95 traffic) so the restaurant was empty. Our waiter, Chris, was friendly, quick and eager to help. We both ordered rib eyes which were fantastic. (I grew up raising black angus cattle so I appreciate a decent steak.) it came with smashed potatoes (exactly like it sounds) and tasty grilled vegetables. We both ordered a Greek salad which was a little different, it had no lettuce (?) just tomatoes, cucumber, feta olives -but it was seasoned well and tasted good. The salad was huge and I thought the price for this (and the small individual desserts) was very reasonable. We had just the right sized desserts: creme brûlée and key lime pie. Both were Very good (brûlée sugar wasn't crunchy) but the key lime was authentic and amazing -one of the best I've ordered out anywhere. By the time we left the place was full -especially for a Monday night, but not over crowded. We had a great experience and we're glad we tried a new place that turned out to be so good.

I live a block away and don't go here. None of the locals I know go here. I think they mainly survive on their lunch crowd from local government offices. Their food and drinks are very overpriced. It is very loud inside. Not a good value for your money. The food hasn't been that good any of the times I've tried it and the service is nothing to call home about.
(1)Mary Jo Lisa C.
The food is not made to order. My friend had a flatbread pizza which was actually really tasty, but the chicken on top was cold and rubbery. I had the mix grille which was good, until I got to the chicken breast. Rubbery and cold. I asked the waitress if the food is made to order and after a long suspect pause she said yes. Obviously a lie. The manager came over and was honest enough to admit that the chicken was cooked a few hours before because it is not feasible to cook chicken to order. Ummm....last time we checked it said Fireside Grill on the sign, not Fireside Reheat. Anyways, they gave us 20% off our check which was reasonable. They also offered us dessert which we declined. Not sure I would go back.
(2)Liza O.
Loved this place from the moment I walked in. The lovely firegrill smell imminatinating from the open kitchen was grand. Great selection on food and alcoholic beverages. I had the White Kosmo and the Mixed Grill which consisted of a spicey chorizo sausage, 2 ultra tender bbq ribs, baked chicken breast, flavorfull mashed potatos, and grilled zuchini. The White Kosmo was decadently sweet and crisp. 5 stars for the food, environment, and service.
(5)Ashley W.
I have not been disappointed yet! Brunch, lunch & dinner is very good. Starters that are good: Ahi Tuna; Chicken Wings with Korean Siracha Dippin sauce; warm bread & butter. Meals that are good: Tilapia Tacos are sooo good; mixed grill is pretty good; cheddar mash; ribs and steak are pretty good too. Brunch has everything and is super good.

** 2.5 STARS ** I went here for a friend's birthday brunch buffet on a Sunday morning. We had a large group of 13 people, and this was the perfect restaurant for us because it was almost empty. For brunch they had items such as Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, bacon, pasta salad, regular salad, and several cuts of meat. They also had a dessert tray with various small cups of key lime pie, cheesecake, and cake squares. The food overall was good, but some dishes seemed dry and lacking flavor. This may be because they are left out in the open in covered trays and not refilled very often. Other items looked undercooked, like the scrambled eggs which still had running yolk (I didn't try it). For about $20 the buffet brunch is overpriced for the quality, and the only items worth the price were the desserts. The key lime pie was AMAZING, and I ate two of those small cups, along with trying some of the other desserts. The restaurant is spacious and the decor is nice. However, since it's in the middle of a residential area and relatively hard to find the restaurant sits mostly empty. The wait staff was attentive, but seemed a little young and inexperienced. They also were horsing around a bit, although it wasn't as if there were many customers to keep them busy. The food could be better, and does not taste as good as it should for that price. Overall, it's a decent restaurant for brunch, so I give it 2.5 stars.

Fireside grill is a great place to come for a sit-down dinner for good customer service and decor... A transparent, half-moon glass lines the exterior which provides lovely window seating if that's your preference. My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times and have sampled many of the menu items, which have been mostly satisfying. The oysters are a big hit for appetizers, as they're prepared by a chef in the middle of the restaurant (you also have the option of either Wellfleet or the saltier Atlantic Oyster). Despite a few so-so dishes, the nice environment and always-exceptional customer service will keep us coming back!

Finally went here for lunch after telling myself I would go here for a year. Its a pretty hip -designed place. Its definitely pleasant looking. If this restaurant was in Arlington or DC then it would be packed all the time...but it was rather empty when I came in. I ordered a coconut mojito...it tasted like a basic mojito. I love coconut, so I was hoping this would have a huge coconut flavor..it didn't. My friend ordered the passionfruit mojito and it tasted awesome. I ordered the quesadilla and it was great. I will probably be back but not any time soon.
(3)Charlie L.
We've eaten here a couple of times when we didn't feel like going to Kingstowne. It's never busy..been here on a Friday and Saturday night ...and the place was empty. The Pot Roast is really really good...it's a red wine based sauce with potatoes and carrots. If you come during lunch time it is served with their cheddar mashed potatoes, dinner is just the Pot Roast (but I think you get more than the lunch portion). I've tried a few other things- salmon filet dish (with almonds and ginger), tilapia tacos, key lime pie...those were "OK" but the Pot Roast is what I come here for.

The food was great and so were the drinks! The prices were very reasonable and would def return in the future.

The worst New Year's Eve dinner of my life! Thought I would take my 2 children and I to a nice dinner before the new year as this being our 1st new year w/out my husband/daddy due to his deployment. My husband and family really like this place. Everyone is always so pleasant. So we walked in and the hostess greeted us. Everyone was dressed up for New Year's Eve so it was really cute. We sit down and order drinks and our food. The bread & butter was delicious! Our spinach & artichoke dip appetizer was fantastic & the house salad was great. Both of my children (ages 6 & 11) ordered the kids fettuccini pasta w/ Romano. I ordered the New Year's Eve special, salmon topped w/ blue crab including a side of the cheese mash. I've ordered this here before and thought it was the best salmon & blue crab combination I ever had, so I had no worries about it. Well, I'm sad to say that fireside failed us completely with our meals. My children were brought PLAIN fettuccini pasta with no sauce, butter or anything. My entree was bought out with a side of burnt cheese mash w/ the burnt marks going across the potatoes. After a waitress/manager visited the table, I informed her of the plane pasta and my mashed potatoes. They quickly reacted, brought out the cheese sauce for the children's pasta and a nicely scooped cheese mashed potatoes that looked completely different then the 1st one they tried to serve me. Then that's when I realized that I was missing my blue crab. So another manager came to the table to see how everything came out and that's when I informed her that our food didn't come out great at all. I explained to her about all of the mishaps and now my blue crab. She told me that she would take care of the children's pasta and just charge me for my meal. She next brought me a side of blue crab that looked like it was dumped on the plate straight out of a can with parsley sprinkled on it. It had no taste or flavor to it at all. At this point I am completely insulted! When the waiter came over I told him that he can tell his manager that I will not be paying for this either. He quickly gets her as my children and I proceed to put on our coats to leave; however I took my debit card out to pay for our drinks and appetizer. The manager comes over to say that she have taken care of the complete bill, as they rightfully should have. The funny thing is that after they brought the sauce for my daughter's pasta, she liked it and asked if we could get a to go box, lol. I told her that I could make her fettuchini way much better then that at home. Needles to say that I was HIGHLY disappointed with fireside this evening after my family and I love to treat ourselves here every once and a while. This was the first time that we had a bad experience and I'm sorry to say that it was the worst I've had in a restaurant. The last time we were here was for the Sunday's brunch and it was amazing! Now, I don't know if I'll come back again after this!

No vegetarian, much less vegan, section on the menu. Suppose one or two items could be converted but wouldn't count on the chef knowing to do it right given the existing menu. We'll stay away until they support a broader culinary community and offer vegetarian.

I've visited Fireside twice now and was pleasantly surprised at the level of quality so far off the beaten path. You'd expect to find this level of quality in a higher end area (he said arrogantly!) Each time I've come here the food has been excellent, the service friendly and the restaurant lovely. The dining area has a very interesting layout that is very welcoming. The first time I had the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, the second time I had the Steak and Cheese Flatbread. Both times I enjoyed some wings as well. To convey how I feel about this place will require some concentration: The food was executed very well - the mechanics behind both meals were superbly done. The Teriyaki meat to rice ratio, the teriyaki sauce, the flatbread density, the meat on the flatbread, and cheese combination were executed very well. However despite all that I didn't care for them. Trust me, it makes sense in my mind. Both orders were my fault for not liking them. I love Teriyaki when done in the west coast style I grew up with - and I've yet to find in any original east coast places. To a one, they fail. That I tried when I know I shouldn't have, is my fault not this restaurant. Fireside: if you're reading this, find a WaBa's Grill, go there with your sous chef, taste their teriyaki sauce, and model yours after theirs. I'll even go with you and we can discuss. Otherwise, the dish is executed very well - just not to my liking. The sauce makes or breaks it. The steak flatbread was also mechanically executed very well. It was my first time trying a main entrée flatbread, and I decided did not care for the entire genre. Not my thing at all. Loved the steak, loved the cheese, and didn't like the ultra-thin crust pizza underneath. Again, executed very well - just a dish I didn't like. Ultimately it's a good thing that I'm going outside my comfort zone, but next time I'll try some standard items at Fireside after two misfires (my fault). Given the good executions though, and wonderful restaurant, I'm giving this place 3+ stars for a 4 for now - will go down to a 3 or 2 even if I try a standard item and don't like it next time - as that'll mean something else.

The bistro sirloin and lobster bisque were quite good. Excellent service and atmosphere. The bar stays quite full on Friday nights but not so overly popular that I had to wait for a table. I'll come back.

Have been twice. The first time was for dinner and we were not impressed. Good wine, but the food was bad. We had chips and dip and it literally was like a bag of ruffles and sour cream. Our quesadilla had ham on it which was also weird. Went back for brunch and left disappointed again. The food was either dried up (bacon) or soggy wet (eggs). I tried a made to order waffle and the teenage boy who was making them burned it and it tore apart when it was removed from the griddle. The wait staff here is very young (I get it, great first job), but when you are paying $40 for breakfast, I'd like better/ more experienced service - don't stalk me and don't ignore me. The decor is nothing special. I don't get the bar motif. Are the walls painted like supermans fortress of solitude with giant ice crystals? This place is always empty and I don't see how they stay open. The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because I didn't get food poisoning. Don't waste your time or money unless you go for the wine.

Go for the drinks and stay for....more drinks because the food is extremely hit or miss here. Drinks....amazing. We will only be going here for drinks from now on after seeing the lack of cleanliness today, in addition to the burned food we were served. There is a wonderful server named Joe who is genuine, kind, friendly, attentive, and basically everything a person in the food industry should be. He gave great recommendations for both entrees and drink, noting that since I ordered the salad and asked for it gluten free, remembered to omit the croutons. Bonus points for that! The salmon salad with goat cheese and caramel is tasty, well, 1 of the 3 times I ordered it was. The first time it was perfect, and such an interesting flavor combination. Joe actually guaranteed I would like it. The second and third time (more on this later) the salmon was completely overcooked. It had a strong charred taste and was black but not in the blackened yum sort of way. Since we are talking about a 3 oz filet, by the time you have one bite, there's only about two thirds of the salmon left. Which might explain why the server today (definitely not Joe, but nice enough) did not offer anything by way of compensation for the meal. Also, today, the flatware was delivered unclean, the high chairs were covered in food (to the point that we had to ask them to be wiped down. I'm talking layers of food that you could scrape off) and of course having to pay for an entree where the protein was burned. Since I did feed my toddler the salad part, perhaps that's the reasoning for being charged for the entree. Lesson learned.

The office decided to do a late lunch at Fireside Grill in Lorton Town Center. Fireside Grill occupies a large, airy, high-ceilinged space with an otherwise generic décor in an otherwise generic "town center" development concept. We arrived at 1pm, after the lunch rush, and the place was largely empty. The menu is your standard American cuisine with the twist that much of it is prepared on their wood-fired grill. Fireside Grill offers a lunch menu with many items at a decent price. I had the Half Flat and Half Salad ($8.95), basically a half portion of their grilled chicken flatbread and a half portion of their House salad. The grilled chicken flatbread was nicely crispy and possessed the nice wood-fired smokiness you'd expect. The overall flavor of the toppings was quite good, however, the flavor of the crust was only a little above average as it was a bit heavier/denser than I'd like. As for the salad, it was a winner! It was a pleasant surprise that Fireside Grill went the classy route with organic greens, sun-dried cherries, sliced almonds, grape tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette vice a plate of iceberg lettuce topped with ranch dressing. The only noticeable slip during our lunch was in terms of service. Our server was very polite, but it seemed to take an inordinately long time for everything (i.e. take our orders, prepare and deliver food, refill my water glass, and deliver our checks). I'll attribute the delays due to the assumption that they may have cut their staffing in half after lunch and before dinner. Fireside Grill wasn't a bad place, especially for lunch. Still, don't plan on popping in and popping out for a quick a lunch after 1pm. Fireside Grill does the job, but don't expect anything truly memorable.

Will never go back. We were moving into the area and decided to try Fireside Grill as a nice way to feel out the area. This was not the best place to give a good impression of Lorton's restaurant prospects! The service was terribly unattentive: No refills on waters or drinks, no quality checks, and it took forever to get the check! I had hair in my food, which was more than enough for me to not eat all of my meal. On the drive home, I had to pull off of the road because the food had made me so sick. I will never walk in those doors again because of the terrible food quality.

Four of us had dinner here this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised. Management must be reacting to some of the negative reviews on Yelp, because the service was impeccable and the food very tasty. My son LOVED his ribs, the salads were top notch and the prices were reasonable. This place quite good, and worth a repeat visit.
(4)Chelle W.
Due to the mixed reviews, we were skeptical during our first visit. Fortunately, it was quite a pleasant experience. The food and services were very good and the food came out fast. The prices were reasonable and we found the atmosphere to be nice. We will definitely go back.
(4)Tyler R.
The interior is cool and the food was OK... I just wouldn't say that anything overly impressed me taste-wise.
(3)Colleen J.
I've been here a handful of times, I live next door so it's just out of convenience - but I also think I've given the place a fair chance Fireside Grill COULD be a really great place. The food is good (spinach artichoke dip is a life changer), they have a great location/set-up with outdoor seating and occasional live music. What they lack is consistency. From what I have seen, it's a huge reflection of the management. They suck. If you want good food and can handle spotty service/slip ups, go for it!
(2)Kaden H.
I'm amazed that this place is still standing. I have tried it three times over the years and each time I think that it must be better or it would not still be in business. I would love to know the owners secret, because its not the food or service. Years later I tried them again. What a change . They got me right in, did a great job!!
(5)Andrew P.
The mixed grill is great for carnivores, and the double berry margarita really hits the spot. Beware their small deserts and (occasionally) slow service, though.
(4)Kyle H.
The food and service were excellent and the atmosphere was hip and contemporary. I loved the fact that the pre-meal bread was NOT sourdough, and the herb butter with that tasted great. I had the Thai style seafood, which was zesty and delicious. I love curry and shrimp and scallops so that dish really scratched my itch. For dessert, the apple streusel was the perfect topper to a great meal. I highly recommend this one!
(4)Yumi W.
Nothing taste good here.
(1)Rodney J.
Great brunch and vibe, but a little expensive to not have a full omelet bar.
(3)Josh B.
The location of the restaurant and the name had such great appeal, then we were seated. Seemed a little off that in such a busy area it was so empty. We were greatest by a plain clothed waiter who did not offer a name, drink specials, or ask if we'd ever been there before. Didn't even push wine or cocktails. Long story short the menu grasps to present en vogue spin offs on bad interpretations of Americana. Service and hospitality were horrible- the manager was even sitting at the bar drinking with his buddies reading the paper and watching the caps game- instead of making sure services were provided. Food presentation wasn't terrible but for a $12 hamburger a little effort wouldn't hurt. The fire alluded to in the name is the gas range in the open kitchen as you walk in. Whoever the property manger for this area is completely mused the boat with this business- I guess they pay rent on time? I half expected Gordon Ramsey to come out of the kitchen. All in all its a sad excuse for a restaurant.
(1)Chris S.
Flatbread chicken and bacon sandwich is great. Staff is always fast and attentive.
(4)Michael F.
Great lunch spot. It's nice being able to get a light lunch instead of the greasy fast food options around Ft Belvoir.
(4)Dionne A.
Ok so no hot tea for brunch - really? Really! The server brought me a cup of hot water no spoon and no serving plate. I guess they don't serve coffee either. The ribs off the station were cold- I mean even the bone was cold!! I told the guy standing over the meat and the heat lamp that it was cold he boldly told me "no" ...um ok
(3)Walt O.
30 january2013 - I was disappointed. This grill has an open kitchen and it was very loud noise with all the banging of dishes. The food was not as good as expected. The stake was just fair. We will not go back.
(2)MaryJo N.
Don't waste your money. Mojitos are made with Schnappes & Sangria is out of a bottle & bad tasting! The ceviche appetizer was doused in a tomato sauce-almost V-8 juice - Gross! The Chilean seabass was good but no dinner salad! It was extra & the waiter never asked?! My husband had a steak - there was a aweful taste that neither of us could describe & the cheddar mashed potatoes were over boiled and there was no cheddar flavor. The hi-lite was the tappas style creme brûlée desert. It was awesome! By far the worst meal I have ever had out-and the cost of this aweful meal-$93!!!! We came home & had PB&Jsonce we did not eat our dinners!
(1)Will M.
The re ideas on here surprise me greatly. I went about four months ago and had a really great time. I started off with an app of their ribs which were really good. They were hot, fresh and saucy. I then had their steak with blue cheese and loaded mash. It was close to the best steak I've had in a long time. I can't wait to return, hopefully my experience can be the same.

Fireside Grill needs more fire! Lobster Bisque Lobster meat, lobster stock, cream and sherry $6.95 There was absolutely no lobster meat in this bisque. It came out cool and needed to be sent back to be reheated. It was watery and sad with its topping of green onions. Chicken Portobello Natural chicken breast, portobello mushrooms in a Romano cream sauce with fettuccine $13.75 Barely any chicken here, but lots of noodles! The Romano cream sauce was very watered down and came out cool as well. Not worth the money. Burger Certified angus chuck, apple-wood smoked bacon, Vermont white cheddar, shaved red onion, roasted potatoes and napa slaw on a toasted bun $11.50 This burger tasted more like a meatloaf sandwich with fatty bacon. The roasted potatoes were burnt, dry, and bland. It looked delicious, but was far from it. Chorizo Sausage Bell peppers, vine ripe marinara and four cheeses $9.95 This flatbread looked promising until we noticed the badly chipped plate it was served on which is a safety concern for people with children. What was more disappointing was how cold it was! And it tasted like a frozen sausage pizza you get from a freezer. Spinach and Bleu Baby spinach tossed with apple-wood smoked bacon, almonds, pears, tomatoes and bleu cheese in a creamy roasted garlic-Dijon dressing $7.95 This was probably the best dish we had at our table, but really, how hard is it to make a salad? It came out with a bland piece of salmon. I could make this at home. Not everything was disappointing, the draft brews came out frosty and quickly and the bread and garlic butter were good, but we could go to many other places for that. In this economy, one would NOT want to waste their hard earned dollars here. Whoever is funding this restaurant is losing money fast and lots of it! There were too many servers scheduled and one of the chefs had a gloved hand while on his cell phone in the kitchen. We only saw this when it was too late, because think about all the places you use your cell phone. This "chef's" gloved hand was making our food. Completely gross! For the three chefs on the line, there was no reason our food should have been cold. Go elsewhere if you are considering this place. It's a waste of time and money, unless you like your food cold, dirty and bland.

Great fresh full of flavor talipia tacos here with great outdoor seating (hense the 4th star). lorton station area of VA super clean and quaint brick new construction brownstone developments. adorable town

What a joke..Went for dinner first of all the band playing was way to o loud cold not even here the conversation at the table. We ordered two appetizers the chicken satay which only came two pieces of chicken on a stick with a side of cucumbers,,not worth 8$. The Spinach and Artichoke dip very runny and oily not good at all did not even finish it, For the meal we ordered the Merlot steak wanted to share but it was very little portion,,even for one person the steak was the size Would not recommend at all.

Finally getting around to reviewing Fireside. Decided to give it a try when some friends came to visit a few months ago. It was okay but not really a place I would go back to again. They were a bit too generous with the salt in more than one dish. Disappointing to say... the highlight for me was not even the Bouillabaisse I ordered, it was the bread.

Wish I read yelp reviews before we ventured out to Fireside Grill. So disappointed. As many others have said, items are overpriced for the quality. The attempt at modern decor is as bland as the food and the service. From the hostess to the server to the food runner, I felt like we were in some sort of restaurant service training center or that it was their first day on the job or something. For $12 I ordered a Margherita Flatbread Pizza. It arrived on a plastic-y bread board. Maybe it was supposed to be cool? Just looked cheap to me. The crust was soggy because the ingredients were so stacked and overbearing. In fact, the drizzled balsamic vinaigrette was overused to the point that I pretty much felt like I was eating soggy bread, dunked in balsamic vinegar. My husband ordered a $17 steak. He offered to trade my pizza for his steak. He totally hustled me in preference for the soggy pizza. The steak was bland with the exception of the overpowering balsamic vinaigrette sauce - again. The taste of the asparagus was totally lost when it was drowned in a greasy shallot butter. In contrast to the greasiness of the steak and asparagus, the potatoes completely dried out my mouth. But I couldn't do anything about that because our drinks hadn't been refilled for a long time. I guess I could have sucked on an ice cube. My 3 year old ordered a $7 kids meal with a side of apples. I think the apples were the most flavorful of all of our meals. I'll spare you the details about the little guy choking on the cheese that slid entirely off of the pizza crust when he tried to take a bite. Not that the server asked or reminded us, but my son's meal was also supposed to come with an ice cream dessert (ok, I guess it's possible he thought we weren't ready for dessert since not much of our food was eaten). We couldn't stand to stay any longer, so we promised our boy dessert when we got home. After waiting a good, long, while for the server to find our table again, I just got up and put my jacket on so that my son and I could walk around outside while my husband settled the bill. That prompted the server to come over right away. I have no idea how much our final bill was; I asked my husband not to tell me. I just asked him if we could make a run to a fast food joint on the way home. I would have preferred pretty much anything to the meal we just ran away from. Only reason I didn't give one star is because the food was technically edible. Just very unpleasant.
(2)BJ L.
The sandwiches are very good. I had the cheese steak, and it was delicious, but I had to eat it with a fork because the bottom piece of bread was soaked through and it couldn't handle being picked up. I would stay away from their pasta dishes, they just don't taste very good. The service was incredibly slow, but they get 3 stars for how good the sandwich tasted.
(3)Baskin N.
I went here for their brunch buffet on a late Sunday afternoon. We got there 30 min before they were closing up brunch, so I really should have known better. There were very few selections and it was way over priced! I only give it two stars this time, but I will be back. I think this place has good potential and I am hopeful that they will redeem themselves on my next visit.
(2)Evan H.
Went here on a pre-Valentine's date with the hubs. He made reservations but we probably didn't need them. The place was full, but not packed, which i LOVE. Service was a bit slow at first, especially since they weren't slammed. But, props to our waiter for keeping my diet Coke a-filled to the brim. I'm a thirsty gal. I ordered (and polished off) an entire chorizo flatbread pizza as my appetizer. Delicious! The crust was perfect and the sauce was great. My small complaint would be that I asked for light on the cheese and it was almost like there was DOUBLE cheese on it. Oh well, who complains about more cheese, right? The hubs ordered the filet and polished off the whole thing - a good sign from a picky meat-eater. I ordered the tilapa and crab, which was billed as a "light entree," but tasted anything but. It was super delicious and filling and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again next time. (Maybe it was filling b/c I'd already eaten an entire pizza, hmm....) Anyhoo, the experience was great, and having recently moved to the area, my man and I were psyched to have found a local go-to spot to take friends and family when they visit, or when we just feel like having a nice meal.
(4)Katie K.
Went here once and it was ok. Wasn't too memorable. Standard American food with slightly higher prices. I wish I could right more, but, it just was a standard dinner experience you could have anywhere. The food or atmosphere weren't memorable at all.
(3)Karen M.
Worst service ever, my aunt surprised me with a trip there on my birthday and the restaurant was completely empty. we were seated and never helped again. there was an employee standing at the hostess stand and one putting serving ware on tables, no one came by to take a drink order or anything for 20 minutes. We got up to leave and the hostess said "thank you for coming" as if she forgot we just walked in and were seated at a table near her stand. we told her no one helped us and she just looked confused.
(1)Christopher A.
A favorite spot when I don't have time to prepare dinner at home. Food is delightful and service is quick.
(4)Dave W.
Ok, I gave it a second try against my better judgment. My daughter got the burger, which was still greasy. By contrast, I got the grilled chicken, which was dry and tasteless. Food is exceedingly mediocre for the price; save your money and go someplace else.
(1)Jenny W.
Wow I'm pretty shocked by all the negative reviews of this place! Whenever I'm in town visiting my family we come here for dinner and have even made it for brunch. The service is always quick and the food is consistently good! I've had a number of items on the menu but my favorites are the steaks (always perfectly cooked) and the flat breads which are awesome! The sunday brunch was incredible but a bit pricy. Give this place a try!

I had the pleasure of joining a group of people at this resturant a few weeks ago and overall enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to others for a nice, but not awe-inspiring, dinner. The steaks at Fireside are quite good and other entrees were equally well received. Unfortunately many of the appetizers leave something to be desired and the butter they serve with the table bread is horrid. No, actually it's worse than horrid. It's like butter mixed with sugar and garlic... and turpintine. I really don't know what I ingested but it was not something I want to repeat. Recommendation: Don't even try the butter. Desserts are solid and tasty, but not unique. However, just because they aren't unique isn't any reason not to eat them. It's a good selection and you can just snag them off the display tray which is a really nice treat. They are also relatively cheap so I'd suggest trying several of them. Service was pretty great, even though we had a large group, as well. Staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I could make it a 3.5 star, but the disappointing appetizers and rank butter (coupled with cold bread) push it downward.
(3)Eric W.
My wife and I really wanted this place - we both had the sense that we should stand up and walk out as soon as we sat down, but I'd already ordered a Diet Coke...so we stuck it out. Our server was very nice, the atmosphere was great, but the food was just not good. My wife had a steak, which was really small and dry. I had the ribs, which looked awesome on the plate - but they were really fatty and the sauce was just - well...I don't want to think about it anymore.
(1)Sandy S.
My friend and I walked out of Pane E Vino across the street and went here. We were surprised how good it turned out. The service was friendly and prompt, the drink selection was really good, and the food was pretty darn decent. My friend had the salmon and spinach salad- she ate the whole thing (although I think the salmon was a bit overdone for her taste, but looked perfect for me). I had the grilled cheese and veggie sandwich with the coleslaw on the side. It wasn't creamy coleslaw, it was very fresh and light- with a light citrus dressing. The sandwich was supposed to be like a Panini, but I think someone was a little too excited about putting olive oil on it so it turned out a little soft and greasy. The cheese and veggies were delicious. I had a super strong hibiscus margarita I couldn't finish and my friend had white orchid martini which was really good. A reason I didn't give it another star is because the place gets pretty loud with the children and a group of people in the middle of the restaurant. They need to put up some sort of noise dampening materials. I'd go back again but not as a destination to must go- unless I had kids with me or a larger group.
(3)Gabe O.
Haven't been back for a long time ... simply because it was not worth a return. Service was not good, food okay. Went last night ... blew me away. Our server was awesome, the Tilapia Tacos were super good and my wife's mixed grill looked real good ...she didn't share.

If you stay up all night playing video games, eventually you get hungry. I figured, it's Sunday morning, why not try eating breakfast for the first time in 15 or so years? Or more accurately, brunch. My brother wanted to try this brunch buffet and since I didn't have any better ideas, I agreed to it. Everything on the buffet was decent at best...even though the options were slightly fancier than IHOP fare. The options presented were scrambled eggs, bacon, oven roasted potatoes, bread pudding, french bread, meatballs in tomato sauce, salmon teriyaki, cheesy mashed potatoes, "filet mignon" (which looked more like prime rib), ribs, pork loin with apples, seafood pasta, pot roast, omelette (premade), eggs benedict, roasted vegetables, and a dessert spread. They did have a waffle bar as well. The dessert spread included dessert shooters like you would find at Applebees and an assortment of cakes and fruit. The variety was there, only nothing really stood out. However, I gotta say that the ribs barely had any meat on them. The buffet ran about 19 dollars per person. Not horrible. Service was good and the servers were on top of drink refills. Decor is modern and you can see everything going on in the kitchen. Parking is available behind the building and on the street. This brunch buffet might be a decent option if you live in the area or if you're looking for an option for Mother's day, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I'll have to try some of their regular menu items though on a return trip.
(3)Patsy H.
My husband was craving Eggs Benedict last Sunday so we looked for a Sunday brunch nearby and we found a dandy at the Fireside Grill in Lorton, VA. At $18.95, it was the finest spread we have ever found! Every kind of brunch offering one could imagine and more! Beautiful variety, numerous stations, yummy presentation and stylish surroundings in the busy Lorton Town Center. Easy parking and attentive service made this just about the perfect Sunday solution for any craving! What a tasty, bountiful find!
(4)Eboni P.
The food was great however the staff needs to pay more attention to restocking the food on the brunch buffet. I had to wait 10 minutes for fresh bacon and eggs. For $18.95, I shouldn't have to wait to eat. The food should be ready to serve at all times.
(3)Jacqueline M.
We ate her once and the service was slow. Food was ok, but didn't make up for the poor service. The second time we went in, it was mid-afternoon and one other table was in there. We asked to look at the menu again, decided we would stay, and the woman was walking around in the back, she made eye contact with us twice, it was obvious that we were staying and just waiting on her to come back to seat us, and we waited another 5 minutes up there. We left and went to Pane e Vino across the street - best decision all day.

I went here with my Mother after reading off a list of places that were well reviewed in Woodbridge. She didn't like the sound of any of those places, so we went out to Lorton to try this place. It was a nice day out so we decided to eat outside at their nice little patio. The waiter was some sort of super cool dude with a neck tattoo and a trendy haircut. He was OK, kinda dull...like he just rolled out of bed. My Mom had the ceviche, which I tried despite my dislike for seafood. It was presented well and my Mom seemed to like it. For entrees my mother had a steak and I had a steak flat bread sandwich. My mom ordered her steak well done, which I'm sure delayed me receiving my sandwich as it arrived more on the warm side instead of hot, but was still acceptable. The sandwich was good and came with a small, very fresh salad. They have a full bar with happy hour specials that we didn't partake in, but I remember they had a decent selection of draft and bottle beers. I don't drink wine, but they had a decent sized wine list, although I don't know how good it was. Overall the food was good, however the prices were a bit high in my opinion. The service wasn't great, but it wasn't offensive. The guy was kinda quirky so I cut him a break. I'd probably come here for a somewhat special event if I wanted to stay close to home, but not for dinner just on a lark unless I know I'm not paying, like I said I don't think the prices were the right value for the food...
(3)Steve D.
Menu looks great if the staff could cook the food would be awesome! Wide ordered Tilapia with crab over saffron rice and asparagus. Rice was overcooked as a result could not taste the saffron. Fish and crab had no flavor, overcooked. I ordered the baby-back ribs, looked like they were boiled overnight. Forgot we also order the spinach dip that looked like it died hours earlier in the oven, Sorry but not spending another $54 dollars to see if it was just a bad night for the kitchen staff. Nice ambiance thought
(1)M N.
Outstanding food and drinks at a surprisingly affordable price! ANGUS aged beef - tender and flavorful. I had the grilled sirloin; wife had the crusted salmon pasta. Not only was the food flavorful, it was also plentiful. Good selection of draft bier (you can have a Black and Tan - Guinness and Bass Ale, in addition to Stella, Yuengling, and a whole bunch of others); wine, as well as cocktails. Dessert - well, a great selection, but in small portions (and price) Fireside Grill just recently opened and is slowly building its clientele... I hope not too quickly because this is a great place that I do not want to share with others...I know, I'm selfish in that way. Hidden in Lorton Station, a growing planned community, off Highway 1, in the shadows of Fort Belvoir. We will be returning in the future...
(4)James M.
Best pot roast ever. For the price it doesn't get a whole lot better. Only complaints are that the shrimp was a little over cooked and the bread wasn't that great. The pot roast wasn't even a touch dry and the veggies and potatoes were cooked perfectly.
(4)Dave W.
The one time I came here on a date they nailed it. Food was awesome, wine sampling tray was awesome, and the prices keep the riffraff out.
(5)Cindy W.
There are zero handicapped parking spaces near Fireside Grill and the regular parking spaces at the backdoor of Fireside Grill are neither close to the door nor are they easy for a person on crutches to maneuver to and from. The night I was there it was raining and there were puddles in the parking lot and not safe for a person on crutches. The large backdoor going into Fireside Grill would be a challenge for a person on crutches to hold open long enough to maneuver into and after struggling to get through that door, the person on crutches would have to ambulate to the front of your restaurant to be greeted by your host/hostess and then continue ambulating to a table before they could safely sit down. There are many parking spaces reserved at the back of the restaurant for residents and some spaces reserved for visitors to the sales office. The six handicapped spaces at Lorton Station Town Center are located next to the oral surgeon's office at the rear of the plaza and a good distance from Fireside Grill. Not all handicapped people use wheelchairs, some use crutches and canes and can't ambulate that distance without assistance. There are plenty of parking spaces in front of Fireside Grill (and Pane e Vino) of which one or two can be turned into handicapped spaces. If you can't accommodate my handicap then I don't want to patronize you when I am capable of walking.
(1)Russ W.
Nice location and well decorated, but a huge empty dining room on a Wednesday night should have been a tipoff. Went to the Fireside for our 20th anniversary. Very disappointing. I ordered the blackened sea bass and the first two bites rewarded me with razor sharp bones. The creole team sauce was too spicy (and I'm not afraid of the spicy;) and the asparagus was bland and undercooked. The bass was obviously cooked from frozen. My wife had the tilapia and crab which looked awful and tasted slightly better but was mushy. Very disappointed in the Fireside and won't be returning. Recommend you steer clear. To top it off the place is expensive.

How come no one goes here? I don't know if Lorton Station is busy during the day, but at night, it was very quiet. Service: Prompt and sufficient. Ambiance: I liked the modern decor of the interior; however, there were lots of empty tables. Only three other booths were occupied, so we were left at the table curious, "Does anyone know about this restaurant or is it just really bad?" Since the food is great...maybe it's still an unknown gem. Food: Hubby ordered the sirloin and I had the seabass. Apparently, there are two kinds of seabass -- one is soupy and one is grilled. I had the grilled kind and it was delicious -- warm and melting. I'm a big fan of woodfired grills and my husband's steak was flavorful and smooth. Both dishes were accompanied with vegetables...I loved the smokey, smooth tastes of the food! Drink: My appletini was perfect...not too sweet with just enough alcohol to keep me a lil warm. Overall: I hope this place stays in business! If more people know about it though, we will wait in line to eat here! I've eaten at Pane e Vino (across the street), which seems to get more business. In comparison, Fireside Grill is MUCH better!

Close 2 autotrain food cooked fresh 2 order full bar. Wines. Try the chicken teriyaki. All dishes are prepared tp order from fresh ingredients. A real winner. Should have been crowded and wasn't 2 hours before the Autotrain was set to leave.

My friends and I have enjoyed mojitos (YUMMY!) on the patio at Fireside along with one of the flatbread pizzas (Steak and Carmelized Onions!) on the menu...great combination for a relaxing time after work. As far as dinner goes, I have yet to try a steak at Fireside. However, the blackened sea bass is fabulous! The only downside for me personally is the atmosphere on the inside of the restaurant. For me, it's just too open. I prefer an intimate (cozy) setting for dinner. The Fireside dining room reminds me of an airport cafeteria. That being said, I've had good service and great food each time I've visited Fireside. You should try a night on their patio before Jack Frost blows our sunshine away. ;o)

I live in the area so having both Pane e Vino and place to choose from is great. However, if i wanted Italian food I would go to the Italian joint across the street. The menu is way too close to Pane including pastas, pizza, sammy all accessible and better at Pane. The meat selection is good and dishes are prepared well but they should definitely consider maybe changing their menu for the summer to include lighter fare. The place is a great candidate for Gordon Ramsey's show Kitchen Nightmares.

I have eaten here 3 times and have enjoyed the experience each time. The only negative was that on one occasion a sandwich ordered my son had great taste but the bread was too soggy for his taste. The staff apologized profusely and deducted the price from our bill...what more can you expect as none of us are perfect. The amosphere is relaxed and they have live entertainment in the bar evenings. We will definitely eat here again.

My wife and I had a date night last night and we were hoping for more. They had run out of the talapia my wife ordered and it was only 7:00. The when our order came, my wife's was missing her shrimp and mine was missing the sea bass. The food was presented nicely, but lacked any flavor for the price, I excepted more.

Having always gone to Pane e Vino when in this part of town, one night we decided to finally try this place and we were quite pleased. The service was quite good, and the food was great. My wife had a Chilean seabass and I had one of their steak dishes. Both were quite good. Whereas their wine list was not huge, they had some decent wines on there (even saw a Virginia wine). They have mini dessert servings which are good for the end of the meal when you are stuffed. The decor is quite nice, and overall, we had a great evening here.
