I love going here in the morning for breakfast they have a variety of breakfast sandwiches as well as sweets. The coffee is delicious but I really love the hot chocolate they always put a great amount of cream on top. They bake your bread fresh every day you got to try it.

Really nice experience. The food was very good, nice and fresh. The atmosphere is cool, it's chic and casual at the same time. It has a lot of charm and classic country feel to it. The menu options were good, nice variety with a little flare to the usual sandwich favorites (rosemary herb in the roast beef sandwich bread). I really wanted to try the bakery items, they looked really good but I wasn't going home for a while and they couldn't sit in a car all day in 90+ degree heat (go figure!). Agree with another yelper that it's a little pricey for the portions served but worth it once in a while. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

This place is money! The fresh ciabatta bread is spectacular. Everything is fresh. Go!

SX and I came here for bite to eat during lunch time. I tried the chicken almond salad with a cup of the potato leek soup. The chicken salad had nice chunks of chicken, with sliced red grapes and sliced almonds. There was a pleasant ratio of of chicken to mayo binder. The bread was of a soft variety and I personally felt that it didn't do anything for the sandwich overall. The bread was alright, though I would have preferred a more rustic country bread. I'm a big fan of crusty bread, so the bread was a bit of a disappointment. The soup was accompanied with a few slices of bread as well, and the crusty crust on those slices were missing as well. SX liked his BLT and it was pretty standard. The only minor issue was how the bread was toasted; on the photo, you can see that there were some uneven hot spots that toasted the bread quite dark. We ended lunch by sharing a black and white brownie. The bar was of a decent portion and there was a good balance between the cheesecake part and the brownie part. A tad bit on the sweet side and definitely dense and chewy. When the weather is nice, it's quite nice to sit outside. There's plenty of outdoor seating and there's umbrellas as well.
(3)Dan V.
Nothing to get excited about here. The sandwiches are pretty average and a little pricy. However the outdoor seating is excellent so it's a great place to go on a nice day. Pretty quick service to.

One of my favorite places to come for lunch. I usually get the yoli wrap, which is amazing, but today I went with the chicken ciapini. It has thin cuts of grilled chicken, melted cheese(forgot what kind of cheese :] sorry) pepper mayo, and tomato. It was pretty tasty. The staff is always very polite. I definitely recommend this place but if you are just a casual foodie like myself, then I would avoid the crowds during lunchtime during the week.
(5)Lacey H.
Consistently delicious and the folks who run the place are wonderful! Some favorites: egg salad with pickles, the south street hoagie and potato leek soup!
(5)What HappenedTo Customer Service Z.
This is my favorite place in NOVA to eat and hang out. I have been coming here for years and years. BUT, to be honest, that's not saying a whole lot because there is a serious lack of good places to eat in NOVA. I digress. It pains me to write this, but my main motivation is to get the attention of management/owners. Things are going downhill!!!! I am worried. Lately: 1) The cashiers don't smile, don't seem happy, don't care about customer service. They appear annoyed that you are there. I know they are busy, but come on! They don't say please and thank you (the basic stuff!). I feel pressure to tip because the credit card receipts have a big ole line for the tip. But if I get treated like this, why should I tip??? Even if I do tip, the cashiers don't say thank you anyway...much less notice. So here is a TIP to future customers, don't bother tipping! The employees do next to nothing to EARN the tip, and don't even care when you give them one. 2) This place is known for 2 things (in my opinion): ciabatta bread and iced tea. They regularly run out of iced tea and lemons, and will not refill it, even if in the middle of the day. Too much of a hassle for them I guess. Sometimes I come JUST for their wonderful iced tea, AND THEY'RE OUT!!?? Don't they want to make more iced tea and make more money and make their customers happy? I guess they are more worried about making more and possibly not selling it all before they close (although I seriously don't think that would happen). I am not sure if they would be able to use it the next day or not. Once I came in the late afternoon. I snagged the LAST of the iced tea (tilted the self serve barrel and made a mess). And then I turn---NO LEMONS!!! I asked the person behind the counter...and low and behold they had a whole tub of sliced lemons at the ready that they were hiding. Why are they not keeping tabs on the lobby and stocking accordingly? A lady from the side then hollered over to the person helping me with the lemons instructing them to only put a few out for the customers. They are holding out! It seems like they are more worried about closing up and having less prep for the next day then making customers happy in the here and now. Sheesh. I just wish I could figure out what makes their iced tea so good so I could make it at home and not bother. 3) Grilled wraps/sandwiches have been overcooked/burnt and smushed. I got 2 Yoli wraps recently. Both to go. The first one was made perfectly and was so good I had to come back for another on a separate day. Second one was so overcooked that the burrito broke in a million pieces all over me. SO. OVER. COOKED. Turned me off so much. Aside from that, got a turkey sandwich (my go to) a few months back (again, to go). It was so smushed and tasted bad, I had to throw it away. Nevermind that sometimes they include the mayo on the side, sometimes not! Sometimes the turkey day sandwiches have burn marks on them. 4) Speaking of turkey sandwiches: in recent years they have done this thing where they "pre-make" certain sandwiches and put them in the cooler case for patrons. However, what if you don't want a soggy sandwich that was made hours ago??? TOO BAD THEY SAY. If you order a sandwich that is sitting in the cooler case, they make you go grab it or they grab it for you unsuspectingly and put it in a to go bag. Once I had the audacity to ask them to make it fresh (I was eating there). Yeah, I got some attitude. 5) Doubt I will ever order a coffee drink. I don't trust it. Staff doesn't seem adequately trained (do you think just anyone make a quality espresso drink??). Espresso bar is barely used, it is probably covered in dust. I think other people have the same idea as me. It is a shame to just have the bar sitting there unused, and the atmosphere here SO calls for coffee. I think the fact that barely anyone orders coffee here is a testament to people's trust in South Street's coffee abilities. Plus, did you see that person's review about the steamed milk issue?? GROSS. 6) Prices are WAY TOO HIGH considering all the above. To be fair, and because this is my favorite place in NOVA, I will list some positives: Cute as hell location (maybe consider expanding, because they are always full and busy) Great bathroom, soap smells good Love the music Love the huge outdoor seating area (location is perfect!) Love the ciabatta, always spot on Love the potato leek soup, it warms my soul on a cold day! Love the baked goods Food comes out fast! Food runners are nice Usually pretty clean Lobby is usually stocked pretty well (NOT LEMONS THO!!) They have bottled beer if you eat there (cool micro brews) MAIN POINT HERE: South Street is great, but they have fallen for the classic pit fall. Their success has gone to their head. They are really successful and really busy. So, now they are letting some things go. NOT GOOD. Please don't let this happen SS!!! I want to love you again!

"Hard to find, easy to love" My mom and I were shopping at the leesburg outlets and we wanted to go somewhere cute for lunch. So I found this little gem on yelp. Their signs are very correct it is hard to find. Once we found the restaurant we tried to figure out how to order and sit. All you do is order at the register and they give you a number, you sit down and they bring you your delicious food. Food: get anything that is served on their ciabatta bread. That's what made the sandwiches so absolutely delicious. We ordered the Tuscan Chicken and Chicken Ciapini warm sandwiches. I could not pick a favorite between either of them. The Tuscan chicken had very thinly sliced chicken, a delicious sundried tomato pesto and provolone served on their ciabatta bread. The Chicken Ciapini had chicken, havarti, spinach, tomato and zesty pepper mayo on ciabatta. Both were served with a pickle, yumyum. I have nothing bad to say about this cute little spot and I hope I'll be back to try something new.

Stopped in just this morning. I don't usually eat bagels, but I wanted one. With cheese and bacon and eggs. Yum. Compared to the "bread circle" you get at the predominant breakfast/sandwich chain that starts with "Pan" ... this is a good bagel. Well done. Coffee was darker and more bitter than I prefer, but eh ... it's all good.
(5)Adrianna C.
Came at about 3:30 on a Saturday and they had a fair amount of customers, but service was friendly and quick. I ordered the chicken ciapini which was very good - only complaint was that it needed more of the sauce on it. Husband got a Ruben which he enjoyed - but needed more slaw. Overall good, fresh, flavorful food. A little overpriced for not very big sandwiches, but I left full, not too full, but full enough. Wouldn't go out of the way to come here but would certainly stop here if I was in the area and wanted something quick and fresh. Will have to try their baked goods and breakfast some time.
(4)Cat P.
Cozy, homey spot for a cup of jo. Thought the drinks were good but not great. Would mainly return again for the nice ambiance and friendly staff. This is an ideal spot for coffee after a full meal, or a good place to catch up with friends and family. Love that it's a local business instead of a chain and that they have plentiful seating.
(4)Tatiana S.
This restaurant is my motivation for 40 minutes walk on w&od trail ! that's how long it takes from our place. South Street Under is our favorite spot for a quick bite or treat. Love broccoli quiche with side of fruits, my husband and son cant get enough of spicy chicken chipiani sandwich. The atmosphere is very relaxing with plenty of sitting outside. The building is historic , all wooden train station. Lots of by bicyclist, joggers, locals and families. And the last but most important :) stuff knows and remember all of their customers, we always feel so welcome !
(5)Lizzy M.
This place is amazing!! My husband and I came for lunch on a Saturday and it was busy but not over crowded. We quickly ordered and got a table. We split the potato and leek soup and it was the best I've ever tasted. It was rich and creamy and full of flavor. I ordered the special sandwich, chicken, tomato, and basil lemon mayo. It was delicious! My husband got a reuben and really enjoyed it. The bread was so soft and fresh! We took a loaf of the ciabatta special home, it had crushed tomatoes on it. We are half with lunch it was warm and so good. The total was about $27, what I would expect to pay at a full service restaurant. We got no sides, other than the soup, and both had cups of water. So it was a bit pricey but the fact that it was so delicious made up for it. We will definitely be back!!

This is an OK little coffee shop, bakery restaurant spot in historic Leesburg. Great peanut butter cake, pretty plain sausage and egg breakfast sandwich, they also lost my fiances order for like 10 minutes with no one else in the palce. So that was unfortunate. Great location.
(3)Kasey M.
Awesome sandwiches- cute place- fun location. The black coffee was not bad but nothing to write home about. The latte was good and they had fun seasonal options (I had a pumpkin gingerbread latte). The breakfast menu is pretty short but was really good. I had a bagel with salmon my husband had a breakfast sandwich. The chiabatta was awesom and we bought one to take home and serve with dinner. The staff was super friendly. I got the impression that if you go here a few times they will know your name.
(4)Anne L.
Been going here for ages. Their potato leek soup is beyond amazing, their quiche is perfection and their bread is heavenly. Also something about the fountain coca cola is so fizzy and perfect. The people are super friendly, the only downside is the indoor seating is very limited, but it just adds to the cozy appeal.
(5)Andrew G.
You must try their ciabatta bread and their brownies! This is our go to stop on the way to the wineries in Loudoun. It's also a fun stop while you're biking on the W&OD trail (I believe it's by mile marker 34.5). For lunch I would recommend their turkey sandwich (really anything on their ciabatta bread is a winner).
(5)Angela L.
I would choose South Street Under over Panera any day. First of all, I think it's slightly less expensive, and way better quality food. With the lunch special, you get a small soup and 1/2 of a cold sandwich - unless it's the daily special. I ALWAYS choose the daily special because it's always different. Every time, excepting once that it was some kind of weird chicken wrap that was sparse on the chicken, it has BLOWN MY MIND. I remember one time it was some kind of meatloaf sandwich, and I was like "this might be terrible", but it was the most moist and delicious meatloaf that I have ever experienced. The sauce also complemented the sandwich well. You can also buy freshly baked bread here, which my boss raves about. Service is also fairly prompt, but seating can get crowded during lunch if it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
(5)Paul A.
2nd try after a recent less than perfect experience. Delicious "turkey day" sandwich, fabulous gazpacho soup, tasty chicken salad, and finished with a gluten free chocolate moose and a cappuccino in a china cup. Overall delightful and I highly recommend South Street Under. Paul A. Leesburg VA

Quant little place ... but be prepared to be let down by all the good reviews. Nothing homemade here except the bread. Great little place and we have been coming here as long as they been open. Here is what you get... Sloppy and thrown together food like a 5 year old made it. We stopped eating anything off the menu because they slop things together so bad and the sandwiches are not worth the money. We come here a lot and my wife and I have have never got a sandwich we didn't have to remake every sandwhich weve ever ordered. Now... we only come for the soups and bread, which its great for all year long... and the chicken salad.... by itself of course.
(3)Angela R.
Delicious food and fast service. Only wish there were more vegan-friendly options. The few they do have are tasty. Make sure to try the spiced chickpeas! Bread is fresh and absolutely scrumptious.
(4)Kaliska N.
Great sandwiches, and I love getting extra chabatta bread to take home. Definitely a good lunch stop!
(5)Kara M.
Order their cakes!

While in Leesburg for the day I began Yelping to find a decent sandwich. This place is better than advertised. Not a ton of seating and it really began to get crowded around 1, but I was there at 1230 and easily grabbed a table for one. I ordered the turkey sandwich and it was amazing. I don't know what the sauce was called or made out of, but it was delicious. Their coffee was also nice and strong. I noticed they make and sell bread which seemed to be a hot commodity, so maybe next time I go I will grab a loaf. Oh, the people that work there were also very friendly which was the icing on the cake for this 5 star review.
(5)Ashley N.
Perfect for a quick tasty lunch! Reasonably priced, friendly staff and good sandwiches.

I'm conflicted, but there is a problem and until it is solved they get one star. Fortunately that problem is not with the flavor or appearance of the food. We had some breakfast sandwiches, and they were quite good with no issues. The croissant was flakey and buttery, the eggs were scrambled well. So what is the problem? Food safety in two respects. I had sausage gravy over biscuits. The flavor was quite nice, the biscuits were properly mixed without developing much gluten and remained flaky. They were slightly overcooked, but with the gravy, held together just enough to make me think it was planned. Unfortunately the gravy was old and questionable in terms of being served to customers, it tasted fine but had separated, with a visible oil layer coming out from the rest. I would rate that as fairly unacceptable, even if the taste was ok. The real problem is the coffee. I had a cappuccino and watched as they made the steamed milk. First, it was *NOT* fresh milk, rather re-frothed from the last coffee drink. No one was in the place from the time I walked in who had had a milk based espresso drink, so I have no idea when the last person had some, 5 minutes or three hours. That is... not acceptable. Milk should *always* be freshly steamed for each serving. The jug should be washed as well, between each cup. This was not done and just builds up bacteria. Then the milk was improperly frothed. I could get into descriptions of how, but this was just wrong. It was not micro froth, rather they put it in deep, turned on the steam, then kept taking it out of the milk entirely, then back in. Not just barely sucking air in, but the way they did it made huge bubbles. Entirely wrong. It was also overheated, but nowhere near as bad as it could be. The thermometer they are using is a standard bi-metal unit. Slow to read temps, so if you steam till it says 160, wait around and you will see the milk actually made it to 170, which takes it above scalding temperatures and breaks down sugars (in a bad way.) I've said this over and over, but those little latte art designs are NOT just for looks. If you can do them with the froth, the chances are the milk was frothed/steamed properly. Those designs should be a tool for an owner to use to ensure their people make good coffee drinks. It is near impossible to do if the froth is done wrong, so by training your people to do them, not only does it make the clients happy it makes your job much easier. Then the worst part about their procedures with steaming, they finished up and... Left the steam wand. It was completely covered in milk, just drying on from the heat. So what you say? Yeah, wait until someone gets REALLY sick because of it. Not to mention there is a high chance of sucking a bit of that milk back into the boiler, not to mention the stuff that is stuck in the wand and gets blown back into each subsequent jug of re-used and re-frothed milk. The proper way to use the steamer is to finish making the drink, then turn the steam on to blow out any milk that was stuck, then to take a damp and clean cloth to wipe down the wand. Takes all of 10 seconds to do if you are running very slow. By not doing it, you are just playing a guessing game of getting people sick. BTW, the bread was great. When the owners can ensure to me the issues have been corrected, I'll change this to the 4 stars it really deserves for what the food and bread is trying to be. Add in better (freshly roasted and local) coffee, and it could easily be 5 stars.
(1)Ami F.
Great sandwich and soup place. I have been here twice and both times everyone really liked it. The food always tastes fresh, and the bread is excellent. The potato leek soup and chili are on the thicker side, and come with tasty bread. I've had the Spicy T Bird and the Cranberry Chicken Salad.. yuuum. Other people I've gone with have had Chicken Ciapini (great) and the grilled cheese (eh, nothing too special). One of my friend's built his own roast beef sandwich and liked that... and they seem to always have a special sandwich of the day. It's a very cozy place, which means it can be difficult to snag a seat when it's crowded, but otherwise no complaints. Even when it was packed during the weekend lunch rush, the service (order at the counter style) was pretty fast. They also have seating outdoors, that I'm guessing is nice to sit at when it's nice weather. If I were in the area, I would come here again with no hesitation.
(5)Kate K.
Definitely a great sandwich in the cute part of Leesburg. The bread itself is absolutely amazing. The staff was really nice and allowed us to sit and talk for hours without interruption. I had the cranberry chicken salad and totally loved it. For an out of towner, it definitely impressed me in an area where there can be lots of chain restaurants.
(5)Lauren R.
Bread is amazing, soup is from scratch and it blows every sandwich joint away from here to DC!
(5)Amy M.
Great place for coffee with a friend. SSU has the best quiche in town, and great baked goods as well. Stop in and pick up fresh made entrees, you Won't be disappointed!
(5)Tami B.
I went here for the first time with my kids today....wow! This place kicks butt! The food was fantastic...I had egg salad and a cup of potato leek soup..yummm! My kids had a grilled chicken salad and pb&j...the bread..seriously is just out if this world! I bought 2 loaves to take home..and my latte was really good too..
(5)Annie P.
This place came recommended, so we stopped for lunch. The soups and sandwiches were all excellent. On the way out we grabbed a bag of cinnamon raisin bread. Holy mother of pearl! That bread was an experience- dare I say the best bread I've ever had. Keep up the good work!
(5)Mike M.
Ok, love this place! Stumbled into South Street Under while looking for a non-IHOP place for breakfast one Saturday morning with the wife. It was a nice morning so we sat outside enjoying the atmosphere, the good coffee, and a fantastic breakfast sandwich. Can't wait to go back!
(5)Thomas S.
This review is a long time coming. Had the Friday special early this year, it was a roasted vegetable (mostly squash and peppers) wrap served warm with a melty cheese blend. Amazing, definitely the most well seasoned veggie wrap I've ever had. Even as a devoted meat eater, it didn't need anything else. I recommend all my clients stop by after a great result up on Market Street.
(5)Mary S.
We were in town for a wedding, and needed a quick bite to eat between wedding activities. This place was convenient and casual, and the food was fantastic. No one in our party of six dislikes their food, and the service was awesomely friendly and super fast. It was a little tough to find, because we weren't sure what we were looking for. But it's well worth a little bit of looking to find!
(4)John L.
Great breakfast spot with really good bread. Really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and outdoor seating.
(4)John C.
My favorite sandwich spot when I am in downtown leesburg, the best. My kids love the chili with the fresh bread
(5)Jenny N.
First time here with my sister for lunch. She ordered the beef chili and I had a to-go lunch in the form of the orzo pasta salad. It's a cute little location that feels very homey when I stepped inside. It's also located in the tuscarora mill area, so it's easy to get to. I wish I lived closer because I would definitely stop by in the mornings for breakfast sandwiches. The staff is friendly and I like small businesses (excuse my bias, but they do tend to be more personable). The choices were healthy, but also different. I'm interested in trying other items on the menu, so this review may change, but I'm sticking to my instinct. The food is good. Homemade and good for the soul!
(4)Kevin B.
This place was a treasure. My girlfriend and I were biking through last March and happened to stumble on this place. The ladies working at the counter were extremely friendly and we got to talking about biking. It was snowing outside and they sent us off with an extra coffee and warm French bread on the house! It has been 8 months since I have been here, but my girlfriend and I still reminisce about the cranberry-orange pecan scone. This place is the real deal. They bake everything in house and fresh every morning. You can even see the guy kneading the dough behind the counter. I highly recommend this place and hope to make it back one day!
(5)Kate T.
For a deli type place...this is the real deal! I love it here, everything about it (pretty easy parking, outdoor & indoor seating, friendly, food is cheap & unique) I go here probably once a week...my usual is the BLT (obviously), egg salad sandwich, Yoli wrap or the Asian chicken salad on greens. And ALWAYS the potato leek soup is the best (you can buy it by the quart and you get a free loaf of the homemade ciabatta with it). They have bacon lattes. Also, note to the owner/manager if you ever see this......semi-recently you had a sandwich special that was one of the best things I've ever had. It was shaved chicken with jalapeno cream cheese and thinly sliced peaches on ciabatta I believe. Sweet, Spicy, Salty...it was delicious. Please bring it back!
(5)Angie M.
Hubby and I had lunch here. Very yummy sandwiches. I had the roast beef (we asked to have lettuce added) and hubby had chicken salad sandwich with gazpacho. The olive bread used in my sandwich was really good. As was my caramel macchiato. The baked goods looked really good but didn't have room in our tummies to try.
(4)Jessica L.
We went during the lunch rush on Saturday and it was incredibly packed. Not much seating but there seems to be a decent turnover rate for tables. The bread is very yum - super fluffy and good flavor. However, I do think the sandwich toppings themselves ride a little too much on the great quality of the bread. My sandwich, the one with chicken and sun-dried tomatoes, could've had just a little more flavor.
(4)Hannah D.
This review is for the bread and baked goods only. It's amazing. Best ciabatta, best lemon bars. Just yum. We live about 30 minutes away, but travel for this bread. Even the plain ciabatta is enough for me to travel.
(5)Margaret S.
So wonderful! It's a hidden gem that my friend took me to this afternoon for lunch. The food was wonderful! I got the grilled cheese and it was so good! Then there was the ciabatta bread that was soft and moist and crunchy and flavorful, this was certainly a treat and I'll be coming back for more! Added bonus, the line at lunch was a tad long but it moved super quickly!
(5)Selena S.
They do have excellent food here. The problem I had with this restaurant was their delivery charge. I work not even mile from this establishment and they told me that the fee for delivery was $10!!!! That seems a bit ridiculous. Fees like that, unfortunately, make it hard to justify giving the driver a big tip. Even for Leesburg area that seems high.
(2)Judy R.
I've been to South Street Under for breakfast takeout and lunch and both were satisfying. I'm addicted to their ciabatta bread! The bacon, egg, cheese on ciabatta - best breakfast. BBBLT with side of chili - best lunch during the winter season. I've had their blueberry muffins, oatmeal raisin cookies, and cannoli all did not disappoint! I'll continue to be a regular.
(5)Mike B.
Great sandwiches in here, I always knew this place was down below Tuskies, but I have never been down for lunch. Like you would expect upstairs, anything you have here is great. I had the turkey sandwich and it came out hot and perfect. The staff was also very friendly in helping me decide what to get since I had no clue.
(4)Kayla C.
I go here every Saturday morning for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich is pretty standard but the coffee is amazing. The staff is always super accommodating and friendly. South Street Under really has that home town feel to it, and I am proud to be a loyal customer :)
(5)Amy M.
Ciabatta is amazing! Everything here is top quality!
(5)Jessica J.
Great place to stop for a light lunch. Nice variety of sandwiches, salads and wraps. Bonus: there was a tasty looking bakery case! Hubs and I shared the BBQ Chicken wrap and Cranberry Chicken salad sandwich. Chips were extra. Located in a great part of town with fantastic atmosphere, outside seating was delightful!
(5)Kelly F.
I mean, honestly, when was the last time you craved potato leek soup? It is that good, I find myself craving it and carving out trips to Leesburg so I can go there for lunch. Soup, some bread and a cookie, I'm happy. They make their bread fresh, it is fun to watch. I wish I could eat more sandwiches, but (alas) I am still pregnant and am not allowed deli meat. However the desserts make up for it. Molasses cookies, chocolate mousse, brownies, you get the idea. Just go.
(5)Farris H.
First time here. Love it!
(4)Kelly K.
This place can be a zoo as it is very cramped. The do make delicious foccaccia. Prices are on the high side.
(3)Kaci D.
Rare roast beef and tomato bisque. That's about all I have to say. This place is fantastic! I've eaten here for years.
(5)Erika B.
Decent coffee and service. I came once with a friend when nothing else was open for coffee so we asked around and ended up here. It's a good place for a quick bite to eat. Seating / space is limited but not cramped.
(4)Cynthia C.
Found this place when I was pregnant and in search of a good Ciabatta and found more than I could have expected. Since then, my family and I stop in every Saturday for their breakfast sandwiches and have even had my kids birthday party catered through SSU. Service has always been superb and the prices are reasonable. I would also recommend the German Chocolate bar..sooooo good.
(5)Melissa G.
We were on our way out to the hinterlands of Leesburg to do some wine-tasting so we decided we had better fill our bellies with some brunch! I had perused Yelp reviews for brunch near Leesburg and South Street Under popped up. This neat little cafe is nestled under Tuscarora Mill restaurant off of Harrison St. I had the quiche which was pretty good and i sampled my sisters chicken salad sandwich, which was amazing! The food is counter service, but they give you a number and bring it out to your table. There isn't a ton of seating indoors, but during the warmer months they have outdoor seating as well. While we were enjoying our meals, an employee was kneading what looked like a giant pillow. Fresh BREAD!! I would love to come back here and try one of their lunch options and the desserts!
(4)Darin S.
Met there for lunch yesterday and loved it! We love Tuskies and Fireworks, and glad to find this gem hidden on the lower level. The bread is delish and the potato leek soup devine! I had the Chicken Ciapini and my partner had the Chicken Ciabatta with the sundried tomato pesto. I have a fear when we go back to try more of the menu, we'll keep ordering these because they were so yummy. Glad we have a good local place to grab lunch, even during the week. I'll be excited to go for breakfast too and if i bend my rules about sweets...those will be on the list too!
(5)Alex R.
Hard to find but worth the challenge. Sandwich was great especially the chutney with the kick.

I'm not sure why I haven't come here sooner but I'm glad we stopped in this past weekend. We had just missed the breakfast specials by 20 mins but their lunch sandwiches didn't disappoint. I got their chicken ciapini and my husband got the tuna salad on jalapeno cheddar bread. Clearly his choice was a lot more tasty and flavorful but I enjoyed my sandwich as well. We also split the potato leek soup and grabbed some cappuccinos and cafe mochas to go. All super yummy. The service was fast and friendly - something I've come to learn to expect out this way which is nice! During our 15 min sit down a huge rush of folks came in for a lunch rush. So beware! You may have to wait a bit if you come at high peak times.

This is my go to breakfast joint on the weekend. Love the fresh breads, great cold and warmed up, either way it melts in your mouth. The coffee (black for me, no foo foo) is consistently good. Granola is great, I could have it as bfast or snack on it throughout the day. Lastly love the breakfast sandwiches, make mine a bacon, egg and cheese on ciabatta.
(4)Kelly M.
My husband and I love this place. We come here often for their ciabatta breakfast sandwiches or lunch. Everything is delicious! The people there are very friendly too and there's a nice outdoor seating area that is dog friendly.

3.5 If I were to rate this place only on the ciabatta bread it would get 5 stars. I've sampled all of the different versions. The best by far is the olive loaf. That seems to always run out. We've gone in a number of times and they are always out. I think the 2nd best is the jalapenos and cheese one. I can eat a whole loaf myself. =) As for the rest of the food, to me it's not bad. I've only had the sandwiches and they taste like what they should. I've tried most of them, while some are good. None have really wowed me. The better sandwiches in my opinion are the ones on the ciabatta bread. MMMM..ciabatta bread.. My only beef is the portion sizes. The portions seem small for the price. Oh well what can you do. Go for the olive loaf ciabatta bread and you won't be disappointed.
(3)M. M.
Based on Yelp reviews, I had high expectations, which this place failed to meet. Felt this place was a little messy/rundown. They have good baked goods. Sandwiches were just OK.
(3)Steven L.
Great food, bread and pastry. Lunch and rush time ordering is a confusing, zoo-like affair. Friendly staff.
(4)Gary B.
Just go there now, today, and try the Potato and Leek soup with some ciabatta! If that's not for you, then try something else of their 'home-style' menu to enjoy! I love this place, it's comfort food 110%.
(4)Krishna P.
A better alternative for Paneera Bread sandwich and soup lovers. Ciabatta bread is as good as it can get and the chicken sandwiches I tried are all excellent. I visited their store at Farmers Market and they have great collection of fresh Ciabatta breads. Their Jalapeno Ciabatta is my personal favorite. Their coffee is good as well and brownie is heavenly if you eat it after letting it our at room temperature for a while as they serve you a chilled one.

Just about the best local sandwich place around, we go at least a couple of times a month. At the risk of repeating what everyone else has already written, I'll run down my favorites and recommendations. Baked goods: All good, this is what really makes SSU. They are a bakery and everything is made fresh in-house. The ciabatta is wonderful, as are the fresh, buttery croissants and multigrain bread. The molasses cookies (all the cookies really) are fantastic as are the cupcakes. This place is very unhealthy for carb-avoidance. Breakfast: Small menu for breakfast consists of scrambled eggs cooked in a mold so they fit in sandwiches with cheese and bacon, sausage or ham on your choice of bread. I've tried all the bread types, all make a killer breakfast sandwich. If you want to really kick up your cholesterol go for a slice of the cinnamon toast w/butter. It's a cinnamon/raisin rolled bread, sliced thick, toasted and slathered in butter. Oh my. They also have bagels and lox. Lunch: The soups and sandwiches are all good. Potato leek is a staple, other soups/stews rotate seasonally, gazpacho is always an option in summer. Some sandwiches are better than others but I haven't had a bad one. The daily specials are a good bet and I love the rare roast beef with lemon-basil mayo and the turkey with shallot mayo. The BBBLT (BLT, heavy on the B) is great for bacon lovers. Egg salad is good, but I always have to add some salt. If you're going low-carb your option is a bowl of romaine lettuce with scoop of tuna/chicken/egg salad, which they still throw slices of that damn-tempting ciabatta onto! It's actually a pretty satisfying lunch though, if you can resist the bread. Dinner: They close at 6, so you'd best be early. However, their take-and-heat meals in the cold case at front are great if you want something besides the standard take-out options. Usually one choice per day. Other stuff: They have ice cream! Also a pretty decent coffee-bar. Take and bake scones in the cold case as well as interesting bottled soda and juice selection. I like that they have organic milk singles for the kiddo. Daily special iced tea is good (usually peach, mango or raspberry), fresh brewed. You can special-order cakes (including wedding cakes), got my daughter's birthday cupcakes here, they were yummy. Environment: Oddly shaped indoor space that is not very friendly to the popularity of the restaurant. It's not a huge deal in nice weather when most people choose to sit outside on the lovely patio but if you come on a cold/rainy day when the same number of people are suddenly all trying to sit inside... well, you can see it can become less than ideal. A couple of times I have seen people walk in and be very confused about the ordering line being right in front of the door, especially when it's crowded. Order & pay at the counter, take your number and find a seat, they bring it to you except for soups & coffees that they get for you right then.
(5)Ryan T.
Excellent food, excellent dessert, excellent service. Even better - we were able to enjoy lunch with our puppy on the patio.

Four years going to this place for my weekly mommy friends & kiddos and it's so good! Great staff (I love how Beth remembers my son when he was just a tiny baby when we started this ritual), great food, delicious flavored iced teas,& outdoor seating!! It's like a hidden gem! (well almost~ all the locals go here) The potato leek soup is a must. I enjoy the almond chicken salad or the BLT sandwich on ciabatta!
(4)Stephanie S.
Awesome sandwiches and soups, if you love fresh bread and pastries, you cannot miss the opportunity to eat here or take-out. I could eat an entire loaf of their ciabatta in one sitting-it's soft, fresh (it's so popular that you usually get it still piping hot from the oven). Their sandwiches are tasty and the soups are savory. You can buy their soups by the quart and they come with a loaf of ciabatta to enjoy it at home.
(5)Matthew M.
5 stars for a local coffee and sandwich establishment that has it right!! Not panera not Starbucks but better!

South Street Under should seriously consider offering some type of frequent customer discount, cuz my boyfriend and I stalk this place like it dumped us 5 years ago and we could just never move on. It's righteously delicious. I'm head over heels for their Vegetable Muffaletta sandwich, and I threw a small tantrum when I found it was only a seasonal offering. We actually sat inside one day and had a conversation to the affect that there appeared to be a door on the backside of the kitchen (where they make the bread) and maybe we could sneak around one evening to see if they accidentally left it unlocked and we could bumrush the place and make off with reusable shopping bags full of ciabatta and other miscellaneous baked goods. Heh. That was a fun day. Other delicious goodies include; (1) Potato Leek Soup (it's earthy and savory and the way the Welsh probably would've made it had they known anything other than the standard awful food that hails from that region). (2) Rare Roast Beef sandwich (it's udder-ly amazing: pray you go on an afternoon when someone's working behind the counter that will hook your sandwich up with a mile-high stack of the ridiculously good meat and wonderfully complementing lemon-basil mayo. Think twice about getting the onions on it- the first time we ordered this, we thought the onions were some kind of slimy "beef tartare" cuz they were gross and looked like uncooked placenta). (3) Vegetable Muffaletta sandwich (see intro paragraph, this one needs no description it's so awesome. Word of warning; it is seasonal so don't expect to get it year 'round. Note to self- consider stocking up on them next time they're being offered, I bet they'd freeze well?) (4) Reuben sandwich (if I could get away with stashing a sandwich in my purse to carry around on a daily basis just in case of emergencies, this would be it. Saying I'm a fan of pastrami would be an understatement so I'll just leave it at that). (5) Olive Tapanade (this is amazing, but can usually only be found on Saturdays after the Leesburg Farmer's Market is over. Avoid the black olive-only spread and opt for the mixed. Pair it with their Olive Foccacia if you can get your mits on it and make a run for it. You'll be glad you did). In conclusion, this is a solid little place with a gold-standard menu. You could pretty much ask a Ouija board what to order and still end up coming out with something you're satisfied with.

We went here for a quick lunch stop on our way to a July 4 wine tasting vacation. It is a cute sandwich shop that uses fresh ingredients! We ordered the Spicy T-Bird. It was a delicious sandwich--the bread was great and the turkey was tasty. It also had a good spice to it--not overwhelming but it had a nice kick. We also picked up the Tuskie's Wine Trail Brochure here--which saved us a lot of money during our trip! We would definitely return!
(5)Kelly M.
Been frequenting South Street for years. Highly recommend grilled cheese on ciabatta or potato leek soup! Great place to have a bite to eat with friends.
(5)Heather C.
Olive ciabata bread! You must get it! But, please save me a loaf. Went here this morning for coffee on the patio with the kids and some friends. I love that their patio is a relatively safe place for kids to run around. They pretty much have to be completely out of sight before your kids could get into too much trouble. Sometimes the outdoor area is a little dirty, but the birds are to thank for that. You often see bikers there as it is right off the W&OD trail. Today I just had a cup of black coffee. Not much to talk about there, but it was a decent cup of coffee -- tasted good and woke me up.

Was walking around Leesburg during an Art show this weekend. I Really wanted something quick and simple, somewhere that I didn't have to wait or sit down at a table. Found this place underneath Tuscarora Mills. I got the BBLT sandwich and my husband got the BBQ sandwich. Both delicious! The bread was really fresh, the bacon nice crispy, and the service quick and friendly, not to mention the almost empty outdoor seating area. Very nice and quiet. Also noticed water bowls out for dogs. Overall a nice little cafe deli! Will have to bring the pups next time. Oh. My husband also got a cookie. But I never even saw it.
(4)Chrissy L.
If their entire menu goes to the dogs, if they hired angry staff, if the neighborhood was overtaken by gangs, but they still sold those creamy, salty, if-Jesus-was-a-baker he would make these ciabatta loaves, I would still give this place five stars. Go and eat whatever you want, it will be fine I'm sure. Then go and buy a loaf of that bread "for a friend". And tell me if you actually give it to your friend or simply end up eating half of it on the car ride home. And then eat the second half of the loaf in lieu of dinner. And then fall alseep feeling guilty for not sharing in the joy of South Street Under bread. Oh..and keep telling yourself you're truly going to share next time. At least it will stave off the guilt long enough for you to buy 2 loaves when you just "coincidentally" happen to be in the neighborhood.

Mmm! The only thing I didn't like about this place was the lack of indoor seating. But I'm so glad to know there's a place in Leesburg with tasty food and outdoor seating. I had the butternut squash soup, since I can never resist, and it was yummy! It had a nice squash flavor and a nice creamy texture. I also had the mushroom and cheese quiche, which was also a winner. My friend had the potato leek soup and really enjoyed it. I also tried the chai latte, which was tasty. It tasted like tea, unlike the syrupy ones you find at other shops. I would expect them to be pretty busy during the lunch rush, and they don't have much seating, so plan to take your tasty treats to go.
(5)Jennifer K.
We were there for breakfast based on the review of fellow Yelpers! I would have give this place a 4 Stars if not for the slow slow slow service! (Maybe I was in a rush because I am on my way to the outlet mall!) The sandwiches we ordered was great! I have the Egg and Cheese sandwich on Ciabatta and my husband has the Ham and Cheese on Criossant! I finished the whole sandwich even I know how bad carbs is to my body! However in order to get the sandwich, I have to go to the counter a few times... to make sure they remember our orders!! And finally 20 minute after it is finally ready!! We were there on a Sunday morning and the place did get really busy with all the local people arriving with their bicycles! I would for sure go back to visit again next time when I am in the area!

People think I'm crazy when I tell them about how obsessive I am about the Ciabatta bread they have. Owell.. It's just too good. I have tried some of the varieties, but the standard plain is still my favorite. I get the SSU Italian cold and it's great, but I havn't had anything there I didn't like. I'll go buy some ciabatta when I'm making homemade meals and it will enhance any meal!
(5)Jenni S.
If you live in Leesburg and you've been to Panera Bread but not South Street, SHAME. It's simple bistro food, but it's crafted beautifully. Their popular bread is this light, chew ciabatta, served next to a creamy smooth potato leek soup. My favorite sandwich is the egg salad, which is like a deviled egg only with less mayo and farm fresh eggs. I also love the summer wrap and asparagus soup. Their chocolate mousse cups are so decadent, and their iced teas are fragrant without overt sweetness. They understand the value of quality ingredients, and it shows.
(5)Eric N.
Pleasant surprise to find in Leesburg. Its tucked away near Tuskies, which I have never been to. Had a panini here and it was excellent. The chili here is also decent, not spicy enough for my tastes though. But it was nice to see that there were large chunks of beef in it. Definitely a better place to go than Panera if your in the Leesburg area. Definitely coming back in the future.
(4)Jenifer S.
had a late Saturday lunchtime sandwich here with my mum and enjoyed a fresh tuna sandwich (that the counter person assured me ahead of time would be "just great" -- which kind of made me wonder-- I mean, let me figure out for myself if it's great or not). Mum had a turkey sandwich which she enjoyed. Both of us thought the sandwiches were heavy on the bread side, with smaller rather than large fillings, but the bread was very delicious bread. Unfortunately, the coffee, which you serve yourself, had that burnt taste to it and the iced tea, which you also serve yourself, was a bit bitter. Also, no chips were served with the sandwich. I think next time we'll go to Panera as it's better value and the coffee is fresh. I would go here for the baked goods though--we saw awesome looking foccacio and the cakes were very tempting. I just think this is really a good bakery where you can get coffee and soup and sandwich as well. It was also surprisingly noisy, but then the space is a long narrow environment with a big lip at the door, and it takes two doors to get through to get in, so not really accessible to wheelchair users.
(3)Cheryl T.
Both sandwiches my fiancé and I had were sub-par...mostly because we can't get enough of the amazing sandwiches at Gallettas. However, SSU's gets 4 stars because of their ciabatta bread - which coincidentally is the same bread Gallettas uses. You can buy a loaf to bring home and it is simply mouthwatering!!!!
(4)Sarah S.
The Bomb - a sandwich with egg, bacon and cheese on a ciabatta roll was OK. I was impressed by its size, but felt it could use some more flavor - maybe if they added ham. I would not drive out of my way for this place, but I'd go to it if I was nearby and hungry.
(3)David O.
This place was a highlight of visiting Leesburg. A hidden store front in a really cool building complex. My wife and I had the BBQ with potato salad and it was really delicious. We said we came here because of reviews we saw on Yelp and for some reason they gave us free bread that looked and tasted great. Their menu was a little confusing and could use a graphic designer's touch, but all in all had a really good atmosphere and next time we visit my Aunt, we'll have to stop by again and have some delicious BBQ.
(5)Tasha D.
Great sandwiches! I had the soup and sandwich combo, and it ended up being enough for lunch and dinner (the soup serving was huge!). So I had the chili for lunch and took the rare roastbeef sandwich off with me and chowed down on that for dinner. Both were excellent and filling. I also tried the house iced tea of the day -- raspberry -- and that was surprisingly tasty too! Not too much raspberry, just right.
(5)Robb H.
Love this place. Everything I've had here has been excellent. Love the outdoor seating during the summer too. Great place to hang, have lunch or coffee. Market Street is just a great place in general but having South Street right there is icing on the cake.
(5)Charlotte M.
Almost 15 years ago, I worked at Tuskies when South Street Under was just a glimmer in Kevin and Sean Malone's eyes, so I am pretty partial to the place. The ciabatta is phenomenal, the sandwiches excellent, soups yummy and the desserts guilty pleasures. Now that I live an hour away, I get here about once a year and went this past Saturday. They are still going strong--You just can't go wrong with South Street Under
(5)Jason V.
We go here all the time. Sandwiches, quiche, and the potato leek soup are our go to items. The gazpacho is also to die for!
(5)Bridget P.
My sister and I were craving lemon bars and wandering around Leesburg. Yelp led us here and again, did not disappoint. We had fantastic lemon bars and coffee. YUM!
(4)Marco S.
We've eaten here once or twice. The outside seating area is nice and the food is quick and good. They made our wedding cake which was fantastic. The best of SSU can be found on Saturdays at the Leesburg Farmers Market. The load up a table full of fresh breads. My wife digs the hot pepper foccia bread. I stick to the little freebie bites.
(4)Bethany G.
Best quiche I've had in my life! I stopped by one day had it for breakfast. I came back to leesburg and ate it for dinner and breakfast the next day! I'm not even a huge quiche fan either. I used to eat it once a year time.
(4)Samantha T.
CiabattA!
(5)Elisha C.
Great spot for lunch and ice cream!
(4)H B.
Awesome Sandwiches! I had there Classic BBBLT & had them make it with there ciabatta bread AMAZING! There chocolate mousse cakes are to die for! I plan on stopping by every time I'm in town!
(5)Cheryl B.
They had me at Ciabatta.... Ciabatta bread tastes best when it is fresh and it is certainly FRESH at SSU! I have frequented this deli for years and the consistency in their food is spot on. In the summer I crave their gazpacho, and Ciabatta....in the winter I crave their minestrone, and Ciabatta! Did I mention their Ciabatta - incredible freshness, soft inside and a slight crispness to the crust and a faint blush of flour and salt make my mouth water just thinking about it! South Street Under also offers a wide variety of sandwiches, deserts, flavored Ice Tea of the Day, coffees, breakfast offerings, deserts and even pre-packaged dinner specials - that would compliment the loaf of Ciabatta you are really there to pick up :) The prices are reasonable, the portions are good and the staff moves folks through the line like a well-oiled machine. In nice weather they have outdoor seating, but since its been so cold I'd opt for sitting at the bar inside or one of the many tables they have as well. Have some shopping to do at the outlet mall....by all means head to South Street Under to kickstart the day with breakfast and coffee or take a break and have lunch, either way you can't go wrong in whatever you order.
(5)Caitlin J.
came here looking for a tasty lunch in Leesburg, and it fit the bill. the Veg sandwich with the curry hummus was delicious (I highly recommend the multi-grain bread). Fiance had the chicken wrap which was also good. Only wish it had been a bit warmer so we could have taken advantage of their patio seating. i'd go back if i were ever in the area!
(4)Katie M.
You better hope the special ciabatta of the day is chocolate chip.....OMG....(not like I have the willpower to stop eating any of the ciabatta offerings)....but this one is amazing. Of course, everything everyone else said here is true as well. I have my few favorites (breakfast sandwiches, the tomato/pesto/motz warm sandwich, make your own salad w/ Asian vegis and chicken w/ sesame soy dressing, the list goes on and on and on). They've also catered for me a few times, and I've been just as impressed. The sandwich and snack trays are ginormous and the dessert tray is just as fantastic. Don't let the line inside the door scare you away- it really does move quick. Take a number when you pay and hopefully it's nice enough that you can sit outside.
(4)Blaire R.
Decided to give this place another shot and picked up SSU-to-go for dinner. We had a much better experience - thankfully! The potato soup was delicious, if not just a tad salty but that doesn't bother me, and came with a huge loaf of freshly baked ciabatta bread. I had the roast turkey sandwich; everything tasted very fresh and the mayo was killer. My husband got the Chicken Breast Ciapini and said it was delicious. We want to try the "dinner-to-go" turkey pot pie one week so we'll definitely be back.
(4)Sal M.
A very nice place to eat in Leesburg! This is a deli with the variety/originality you could find in DC, but way out here in Leesburg. They have great outdoor seating (maybe too cold for that now). In addition to this being a great restaurant, they also have some excellent desserts/baked goods. South Street Under excels as a lunch deli! In addition, I noticed they have a cooked-dinners-to-go, which sounds like it would be great way to get a "home-made style dinner" with-out having to cook. Also, its a set-up where: 1.) you order 2.) you get a number to take to your table 3.) they bring the food to your table. Pimp.
(5)Dave P.
Bread may not make the sandwich, but crappy bread makes for a crappy sandwich. I've done lunch here several times, usually out of pure disgust while my SO is in the teddy bear place right next door. This means that by the time I get food, I'm already cranky....but I don't leave that way. Excellent sandwiches, great bread, friendly staff (usually young, but occassionally I run into an old timer), and generally a quiet place to sit down, have a bite and savor a simple, inexpensive meal. This place is somewhat hard to find -- it's on main level of the mill shops, all the way at the end, along the back alley. It's on the opposite side of the stip from Nido's, and only a few feet away from a cigar shop at the top of the hill. It's worth the hike.
(4)Jenny S.
I went with my husband for the first time and I tried the leek and potatoe soup that I have read was very good in reviews and I would give it 3.5 stars out of five for the soup - good but lightfoot still has the best soup in Loudoun. I really like the ciabatta bread thing they have going and I will probably pick up some bread next time I have a get together or cocktail party. The ciabatta was really good and with a simple olive oil and salt and pepper dip. I have to say the chicken salad sandwich hit the spot!
(4)Paige T.
Oh. my. gosh. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD. I got the chicken salad sandwich and it was amaz-balls. This is truly one of the best sandwich shops in Leesburg.
(5)Jenny W.
No need to repeat what all the other yelpers have already stated. Delicious sandwiches and soups. Great for a quick lunch and fast and friendly service! I made sure to get a sandwich on ciabatta bread and it was well worth it!
(5)Dimitris P.
$24 for two salads and hot teas! This place is overpriced and overrated.
(1)Jane M.
What a hidden gem off the downtown antiques district. The inside is tiny but there are a lot of tables outside (many with dogs enjoying the day.) We enjoyed sandwiches, soup and a brownie. It's serve yourself beverages and they deliver the food to your table. They had a catering menu on one side and the regular menu on the other. The tuna melt was excellent. Prices seem right for what you're getting. We went because of the Yelp reviews so thanks for the recommendation!
(4)Julie T.
All I can say is Potato Leek Soup and Ciabatta Bread. YUMMY!
(5)Brenda A.
We went there based on other Yelp reviews. This is a really good lunch spot. They have a decent variety of items on the menu, the food seems freshly prepared, and the overall experience is nice (including outside seating). Even the Latte was good. We would definitely go back.
(4)Gurkie C.
This place is amazing, they have great soups, sandwichs, and breads. My favorite is the Potato Leek soup which is creamy, hot, and filling plus its served with some of their Ciabatta bread which goes with it perfectly. Often my sister and I will both get a potato leek soup and split the grilled vegetable muffalatta which is also great! Going here has always been one of the perks of going down to the outlets, on our way back we will stop here!
(5)Rob C.
The prices are cheap and the ingredients are sooo fresh. It's perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon lunch. The SSU Hoagie and Chicken Chipotle Cheddar wraps are top notch. The beef chili served with warm soft french bread is delicious. There are other choices as well. The outdoor dining in the spring is da bomb. It's a must try in the Leesburg area.
(4)Sam F.
ciabatta, potato leek soup (obsessed), chocolate mousse cups + awesome staff = never fail lunch in Leesburg
(5)Harmon P.
South Street Under has the best deals for dinner to go. They have a different meal each weeknight. The food is amazing, and at a price that is extremely affordable especially considering the quality and the quantity. Each meal is around $23, and feeds up to four people. The Wednesday night special is incredible and sells out early if you don't call your order in. Smoked Chicken with Penne, Bacon, Spinach, Asiago Cream , a loaf of ciabata bread and a salad all included. The restaurant closes at six, so be sure to pick up your dinner to go by then!
(5)Eric D.
Really, really, really good sandwiches and soup. Both of their chicken salad sandwiches are fantastic. And the soup...you really need to try the soup. And the sandwiches...you should try those too.
(4)N M.
I had heard about this place a couple of times, and read very high praise about their potato leek soup on yelp - so I went here today to satisfy my curiosity. They have seating outside which can accommodate large groups, but the inside seating is better suited for small groups of people. To be honest, I was expecting to be underwhelmed since I already had strong expectations. Yet, I am pretty impressed with the food here. I tried the potato leek soup (which they serve with slices of fresh bread) and grilled vegetable sandwich. Both were fantastic (the soup deserves a special mention - it was simply amazing). It's in a very quiet little neighborhood and has a warm ambience inside. It's a wee bit pricey (check their website for menu and prices), but the food is very much worth the money. The quality of the food stands out. I will definitely be going back here again.
(5)Leesburg N.
I really enjoying eating at South Street Under. Staff is very nice and friendly. Food is good and reasonable.
(5)John M.
I have been eating at South Street Under for years. Always consistently good food. We have taken home the dinner meals on many occasions and the food was always excellent. The best thing of course is the preparation time! Love to stop in for breakfast after a workout at the gym.
