This place was extremely disappointing. Upon entering it looked like a great place, but we quickly realized how bad it really was. I understand that when taking all the food orders at once it means that there will be a bit of a wait for your food to arrive. However, after waiting for more than half an hour our food came and was stone cold. We told the server and he took it away. Another 25 minutes passed and the food came back. It was dried out and crunchy and the plate was burning hot like they just threw it in the microwave and nuked it. The appetizer (that came after the entrees) was supposed to be calamari and popcorn shrimp but in reality it was just crunchy fried pieces of breading most of which didnt have any meat inside. After the movie ended I told the manager about the awful experience and he just nodded and dismissed me with a couple of free movie passes and a coupon for an appetizer...like I want to go back again. All in all its way overpriced ($100 for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 alcoholic drinks) and definitely not worth the trip from virginia beach. Save your money go out to eat and see your movie at AMC. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Having lived in the Hampton roads area for over ten years I can safely say this is by far the nicest movie theater you could find. Even when booking your tickets online you get to choose what seats you want. Once you arrive all you have to do is swipe your card to retrieve your tickets and if you have time to kill they have a full bar, really nice bowling alley, darts, and 3 pool tables that you can rent out for $6 an hour. You should arrive for your movie at least 30 minutes prior as your theater host will seat you and hand you menus to order your snacks, drinks, or full service dinner. Inside the theater are some of the nicest movie seats you will ever sit on that are leather and have fold out tray tables. All of the seats are stadium style so you don't have to worry about someone sitting in front of you. Once you place your order the server will take your payment right there with a credit card device and will deliver your items right before the show starts. Gratuity is automatic, so don't add a tip. Great picture quality and sound. Will definitely be visiting this theater again even if it does mean driving through the HRBT. Yes trust me it's worth it.

It was our first visit there. Very nice look to the place. We enjoyed the movie. Our only problem was my girlfriend's steak was particularly tough and had quite a bit of fat on it. The management there was eager to correct this issue, so we certainly can't argue service. My meal was fine, so I suspect the steak was just that rare event when things don't go as planned with food. All in all, it was a very nice and comfortable theater and we intend to return some time soon.

Good idea, rather tasty food, automatic tip is weird but whatever. I'd go back.

I love Cinebistro as well as I love the entire Peninsula town center!! The food a bit pricey, the atmosphere is great and the movies are great also. Haven't tried the bowling or the billiards yet.At one time every Friday night I was at PTC but now that have my own place and need to pay rent I can't go ad much. One reason is my sorry no good job doesn't pay me well. Therefore I can't go as frequently. I hate my job

Cinebistro is a showy amusement park for adults. There's bowling, a bar, pool, movies and dinner. The service is ok. I found the waiters to be slow, forgetful and inattentive. I also didnt like that if I ran out of water in the movie I would have to miss the movie to go out into the corridor to get a refill. I got a veggie burger for dinner and my husband got a burger. When the food came out the fries and burger were cold. A manager was very apologetic and fixed the situation. the food was just so so. I am sure I will eat before going if I choose to go again. The seats looked comfortable but were very firm and not so comfortable in the long run. Maybe others will disagree. For the price of it all I don't think we will be returning.

I've been twice. On both occasions the food was excellent and I love the comfy seats. We have also eaten there without the movie, also a good experience.

Most previous posters have provided great info, I just wanted to let CineBistro know that I'm a fan. Pros: clean theatre, friendly bartender, luxurious seats in the theatre, tasty food, attentive service, and I liked that you get to pick your seat in advance, so there was no wandering around trying to find if I could sit with my husband. Cons: somewhat overpriced, and my husband wasn't impressed with their cheeseburger. Neither pro nor con, but be advised that your tip is already included in your total price when your order your meal. They usually tell you that when you order your food, but at least now you've been warned before you get there. All in all, if you know to expect to spend a bit of money on your in-theatre dining experience, you'll have a great time. If you think about any other dinner and a movie night you've had, you probably spent about the same amount, it was just divided between two establishments (a restaurant and the movie theatre). I'd probably go there even if I didn't plan on eating anything, since the seats are so comfortable.

I used to like this place, but not anymore. Took my son out for a guys night complete with a hockey game in Norfolk and then a comedy movie. We checked the movie times on Flixster for all of the local theaters and then selected the movie at CineBistro since it gave us enough time to travel back from Norfolk to Hampton. We timed it perfectly, parked the car and walked into the CineBistro. As we neared the top of the escalator, we were shooed away by an employee who told us that all movies after 8PM were for people aged 21 and up only. WHAT?! Flixster didn't note this as a restriction. Has CineBistro installed a dance pole in the corner or a shower stage? Are we watching movies naked while downing liters of alcohol during our family comedies? Well, CineBistro, I've cut up my Rewards Card. I won't be back after 8PM, or before 8PM, or ever... Your silly policy and lack of any kind of notice has cost you my future business. I hope this review costs you more! Yelp, can't we make no stars an option?!

Take Two: "CineBistro Revisited". This time it was during a less crowded movie. The service was great, and the place is still awesome! The food was pretty good for what you pay. Overall, though, you can't beat the experience of a movie, food, and beer!. A Little Tip: you can order a drink at the bar and carry it into the movie.
(4)Danielle B.
This place is stupendous!!! Everything went sooo smoothly!! I made reservations for one lane for two hours, which was definitely not enough time. The wait staff and front desk workers were so helpful and nice. The Cinebistro has a modern chic atmosphere with an amazing DJ who knows how to spin hot beats!! The bowling lanes are super nice! You can pick your theme for what you want to show on the score board. My friends and I chose the disco theme!!! The drinks are decently priced. I would say average prices for this area! There is a age limit (21 and up), which is awesome for a date night for both couples and single people! There is ample room for people to have a dance party and ample space to sit for great conversation. I would definitely recommend this place!
(5)Tray S.
I like Cinebistro for the atmosphere. It goes down hill from there. I went with my family, the bill came to over 100$ plus 45$ for the tickets. A waitress came and asked how is everything? Really? I wouldn't know we don't have any of our 100$ order to tell you. I told her you may want to let the manager that I am unhappy my food is delayed. The manager came ,John K, he walked over and addressed my husband. Apparently the server did not tell the manager the sex of the person who was upset. That was even more upsetting. Could they not identify an upset patron by the seat they were sitting in? Or are they just completely incompetent. I explained to the manager my dismay that my food did not arrive in a timely manner. The manager replied, "I would like to help you if you tell me what is wrong" I just told you. Ok the manager was incompetent. No offer to comp. No offer of anything. The movie was starting, I realized I was not getting anywhere so I just told him to go so I could watch the movie. Overall the experience was terrible. Save your money or at least do not purchase any food.

Went to CineBistro in Hampton tonight, a recently opened dining movie theater. This place was fantastic and cinema cafe better hold their breath because this is the real deal. The theaters are spacious with huge screens and plenty of cushy, comfy seating. The seat rock bath and forth, have an arm rest which can be placed up or down, have a little table that you can move into your lap for when you food comes, and you will have plenty of leg room to stretch out. You have to get to the theater 30 mins before the movie starts in order to order food from the servers, but you can get food from the concession stand at any time. They have a wide variety of food to choose from as well as liquor drinks, wine and beer. The severs only come around a couple of times and all of your food comes out together (ie. appetizers will not come out before your main course). There is also a bar and, get this, a bowling alley inside of CineBistro! Bowling is $70 for 2 hours with a maximum of six people, there are other options for playing too, this one just stuck out in my head. This is not a cheap place, the movie tickets are $12 a piece and the food is on the pricey side. However, I think I would come here even if I didn't plan on eating just because the movie seats are so comfortable. There is a 17% gratuity added to all orders so be prepared. This was a great movie/dining experience and I will definitely be back here again soon.

This place is really fancy. An usher with a tie takes your ticket to seat you. Hello, fancy. The seats are amazing. Clean, soft, lots of room. You basically have your own personal living room sized armchair. When you're seated a waiter (in a tie) comes to you with a menu. I didn't order because the prices were shocking to me but I think it's cause I didn't think of it as a movie slash dining experience. I just wanted to see a movie and totally missed the "bistro" part! I think if you go into it differently it may not be as shocking. You can only order before the movie, so for example if you needed a refill on your drink mid-way you're responsible for getting up and getting it. I think I remember seeing free refills on a $10 bowl of popcorn but same deal, you're responsible for getting up and getting it when the movie starts. The movie I saw was 3D and the screen and movie experience were adequate. I'm not familiar with any other theater in Hampton but for me this is a go to spot when I'm in town.

Okay, let's get this out right at the start since it seems some folks don't seem to get the concept. This is NOT the "Cinema Cafe" or a movie-and-draft-house kind of place! I PROMISE YOU that you have not seen a movie in anyplace this nice (in the Hampton Roads area) let alone eaten a meal and had cocktails, served to you in your seat in ANY other movie theater. So... no surprise, yes - it costs more. Let's start with the theater itself - forget the food for a minute. This is a first-class moviegoing experience. You can actually sit in semi-privacy with your companion with no armrests to get in your way. Picture sitting on a leather loveseat in your living room with your arm around your date and their head on your shoulder. Then add a huge wide format high resolution screen, terrific sound system, and plenty of room to stretch your legs with no one kicking your seat from behind and no screaming kids. If that were not enough, the food is VERY good. Sure, there are better restaurants in town, but let's face it - great food isn't dependent on the venue. You can get awesome food from a curbside foodcart in the middle of town. You can also get it from a five-star restaurant with a wine cellar, linen tablecloths, and black tie clad waitstaff. The difference is presentation and service - and the latter costs (you guessed it) more! But let's consider what you're getting: dinner and a movie without having to stare at your watch all through your meal, drag race through traffic, or stand in a line wondering if you'll get your ticket or a decent seat. At Cinebistro, you get there early, if you bought your tickets online in advance you are escorted to the RESERVED seat that YOU CHOSE ahead, you order a cocktail and peruse the menu, you place your food order and you relax!! That's it! Even the previews of coming attractions become a fun part of the experience when you are enjoying good food and drinks and cuddling with your special someone! If you're on a tight budget, you bet you can still have a great date hitting the pub and going to any one of the fine multiplexes there are in town, and you should! And even if you have the means, Cinebistro isn't likely to be your ONLY movie venue. But if you are up for a special, stress free night out with your sweetie, Cinebistro is a terrific alternative.

This place was great I have never been to a place like this I love the the seats where just like home and a bowling alley that is all I need love it.

Love this theatre. Wait staff is great! Food is decent! Hard to go to the movies anywhere else after going here.

VERY UPSCALE! I thought this place was awesome!!!! Went to visit some friends for a mini- vacation back in September, 2011. This place has great food, drinks and service; yes expensive, definitely worth it!!!! Hampton Roads is definitely stepping up!!!! There was a bowling area also! Nice!!!! I have to visit every time I'm in the area!!!!

It is impressive and nicely done up. But I could see the top of the seats in front of me & many of them had stuff splattered on them. I was pretty grossed out by it. My fries were super stale & our beer was flat. I got upset, when I spend $60 for dinner I expect it to at least be fresh & hot. So I got up & found someone who seemed to be some type of management. I told him what the problem was. He said he would get me some new fries & beer. Well I got the beer but never got my new fries. I only ate half of my plate because seriously the fries were that bad. My husband said his burger could have been a lot better. To top it off they started to play the wrong movie. I understand people make mistakes. But that's kind of a biggy After the movie I went to the restrooms, out of soap. My husband & I agreed if we ever went back we would only get drinks. Thank God the movie was really good.

I love this place. It has tasty food and great atmosphere. I felt relaxed and good customer service skills.

Best Bistro-style theatre on the Peninsula! Comfortable seating, friendly hospitality and atmosphere. Under 21 not allowed after certain hours, check it out yourself! =)

I am new to the state and after a few movies at the Regal cinemas and the AMC we decided it just wasn't worth paying so much to go to a crappy movie theater. It took one visit to Cinebistro for my husband and I to decide, this is our theater. They have DLP screens, great sound, the most comfy movie seats ever, and the chance to eat some awesome food. I am sold. We have gotten there only 10 minutes prior to start time and have gotten served (Sunday afternoon), but most of the time you do need to get there 20-30 min. ahead to get your food. I haven't had many entrees, just haven't had time. However, I have tried the popcorn - which is good. I wouldn't say it is typical movie theater popcorn, not nearly as buttery. I also had the shoestring fries, which were awesome, and the chicken empanada appetizer, which I loved! I do wish it was bigger, but it far exceeded my expectations. We are going to try the bowling soon. I hope it is as good as the theater part!

Was lovin' me some Hunger Games the other day! My friend and I decided to see a mantinee showing of the Hunger Games a few weeks ago when I was down in the 757. I loved the theater itself. You won't find a theater like this anywhere in the 757! Big comfy seats, modern, clean.....and all at the same price you'd pay at the AMC 24 or Regal Cinemas! I really thought my ticket was going to cost more, but the matinee showing was $7.50. Yes please! If you want to avoid crowds of teenagers, go after 8pm, when they enforce a 21+ rule. I think they also enforce a dress code (just something I saw in passing), so that's probably worth checking out before you come straight from VA Beach or Busch Gardens. : ) So why the 3 stars you ask? I mean, I loved the theater. And I love the concept of having food and a full bar available. But unfortunately, the food and drinks weren't good. I ordered the nachos, which came out luke warm, soggy, and sweet (sweet nachos? really?). They were gross. I also had their speciality margarita, which had more ice than drink in it. It was pretty weak. My friend loved her burger, but I thought it tasted too much like actual "beef" versus a burger (I like some flavors on my burger, not just that ground beef taste). Also, her side of fries was soggy and undercooked. But there wasn't any use complaining because once the movie starts, they don't serve you. You have to leave the movie and order at the bar if you want more. I'm not leaving for 10 minutes during the movie I paid for! So you're kinda stuck with your order unless you've seen the movie already and don't mind leaving for a few minutes. And FYI, they make you pay prior to receiving your meal (with a ~17% gratuity added automatically), so if you don't like it, well.......you get the point. Would I come back here? Absolutely. But next time I think I'll order something simple, such as popcorn and candy and a bottle of wine (to split of course!). Can't go wrong there!

My wifey suggested we check this place out since I was in town for a few days. So we did and my kid tagged along. We wanted to see the Conjuring but was told when we got there minors could not see that type of movie after a certain time which killed our vibe so we settled on another movie. The tickets are fairly priced and the movie theatre looked magnificent. Big comfortable leather seats with plenty of room in between the aisles so that was a nice change of pace from most theatres. We ordered our food and totally forget to ask the waiter to take of that ridiculous 17% gratuity scam so our bill came to $72.00 which was frigging crazy for some nachos, wings, fries, pulled pork sandwich, and drinks. The food came out promptly and it was movie theatre delicious. It almost made me forget that it was over priced. Now that I know what to expect from this place I will go back one day and will be better prepared.
(4)Matt S.
Very Pricey, but worth every penny. Staff is so polite and professional. Food is delicious and made to order. Seating is spacious and like sitting on a cloud. Another big draw, is that after 6pm, no one under 21. No kids! YAY! You can reserve/select your seating on a fancy touchscreen. The only negative thing that can be said, is the added 17.5% gratuity. I'm a generous tipper, but it rubs me the wrong way, when you are forced to tip regardless of service. Happily though, as stated service is superb! (They say you can amend it..but the process of doing feels...awkward.) Will definitely return...after I get more money to afford it :D

Cinebistro definitely delivers on its implied promise. The idea is to merge semi-fine dining with a top-notch movie theatre experience. They excel at this. First, the theatre itself--the screen was immaculate and the picture was absolutely gorgeous. Also, the sound was surround and stunning. The volume was just right. Further, the chairs were extremely comfortable and there was plenty of leg room. This definitely implied the idea of "first class". The table was kind of an arm that could be moved and lifted out of the way, and each chair had its own small table. I will say that they were perhaps a bit too small to accommodate a larger, multi-course meal; for instance an appetizer, salad, and entrée. Also, the food was good, but it was a bit pricey, especially after paying $12 a piece for the tickets. FYI: you need to show up at least 30 minutes before the movie begins if you want to place your order and have your food delivered to where you are sitting. Overall, I definitely recommend experiencing it--there's also an awesome arcade and bowling section. Just be prepared to pay a bit more than your average date night...

Cinebistro provides an excellent dinning, and movie going experience. Hampton should be proud to have such a venue. The place runs with Northern Efficiency and they have the process down to a science. I was skeptical on my first trip as to how they would make this happen without interrupting the movie but they are on top of it. My food this time (The Chicken Breast), was just okay, but everything else my drinks, Pretzel with Crap Dip, and Dessert was top notch. Also, being able to pick your own, very large comfortable couch like seat alleviates a lot of the stress with finding a good spot. I was not a huge fan of the 17% percent gratuity being included in the bill, but they are on top of their game so it wasn't too much of an issue, I just like having that option as an incentive to provide good service. Sometimes I tip more than that for good service. I only wish they would open one in the D.C area.
(4)David P.
Good place to spend a Friday night. I'm not a huge fan of showing up 30 minutes before the movie starts, but that's the price you pay to preserve the "cinema experience" I suppose. Huge screens, good sound, and comfortable seats. There's not as much seating as your normal theater, (to accommodate the lounge chairs and whatnot) so be sure to pick up your tickets in advance. Ordered the Shrimp Po'Boy w/ Sweet Potato fries. Delicious. I honestly didn't expect much in the food department, but Cinebistro proved me wrong. (Can't vouch for any of the other dishes, though) Add the pitcher of Hoegarden and I was in Heaven. I didn't like ordering everything up front -- makes for room temp beer towards the end of the movie. There's also a pretty hefty gratuity that's automatically assessed (can't remember how much it was, but i think it's close to 20%). Those minor details aside, I had a great time. It's a nice alternative to Cinema Cafe up the road.
(4)Stephanie P.
Went here to see Inception on a Monday night. This is a movie theater in which you can order a regular meal before the movie starts. The food is brought out during the previews. Though they add 17% gratiutiy, the cost would come out the same if you had went to dinner then to a movie. There is also a full bar in the lobby (where the snack bar would usually be) The seats were comfortable though I wish they leaned back more. I recommend trying the Watermelon Mojito. They use real dishes for your food (not paper or plastic) and also have regular movie snacks aviable for you. When Iasked the waiters and runners if they like working there, they said yes "It was the best of both worlds". Be sure to get there atleast 30 min early, tip well and adhere to the dress code!

So this place is cool in concept and all; I like the idea of having an upscale Cinema Cafe, but in delivery, it falls short. So you have to get there 30 minutes prior to the show, you even get to pick out your seats in the theater, which I thought was cool. Once seated, you have approximately 15 minutes to order EVERYTHING you want for the rest of the night. I really wasn't getting this and confused by the whole thing. That means if you want dessert or another glass of wine, you have to order it all upfront, even before any of your food comes out; there's no eating your entree, digesting, and THEN deciding if you have room for dessert or another drink. I just found it weird. So you basically get about 15 minutes to decide what you want to eat and drink and then ordering gets cut off 15 minutes before the movie starts. I don't like that and I felt super rushed. And as someone said, the trays were small so we were kind of juggling with placing our plates on different trays all night while trying not to knock over our drinks. It definitely deserves a visit though, it's really nice inside and the food was decent. I personally think though that the next time I want to experience dinner & a movie, I'll head over to Cinema Cafe, where I know what to expect out of a quesedilla and jalepeno poppers, and order what I want, when I want.

So I bought tickets on fandango for a movie I have wanted to see for some time. This was the day before the showing. When I woke up the next morning I see an alert on my phone asking me how I liked the film. Confused I checked my receipt- and with horror I realized I had bought tickets for the showing the night BEFORE. Mind you, I had bought these tickets with intention to surprise my partner and have a special date night. I really did not know what to do and on a whim called Cinebistro to plead my case, hoping maybe they could at least reserve two seats and I could just buy another ticket. Here comes the best part, I got this wonderful young man on the phone who understood my mistake, advised me to come in as soon as possible and they would help me. I came in soon after and Cinebistro was willing to refund my tickets from the night before, reserve seats CLOSE to what I requested before and gave me my preferred show time. In short, they saved me a lot of embarrassment and the date night went off without a hitch.

Overpriced everything. Unfriendly, untrained staff. Not worth the effort.

As everyone else has stated this is nice place and goes perfect with the new Hampton Coliseum area. You will spend at least 50$ if you're looking to eat/drinks and a movie. The bowling alley is a little small, maybe 5 or 6 lanes. The bar area has always been packed with people each of the 3 times I've been there, all on the weekend, I haven't been on a weekday yet. I've always seen mostly. I've seen mostly couples here, but a few singles sprinkled around, women are always dressed very nice, so men, dress to impress if you're looking to meet one of them.

Visited CineBistro for the first time this weekend. We purchased our tickets online a few days prior and were the first to select our seats. We printed our ticket confirmation which stated to arrive 45 minutes prior to show time; we showed the stated 45 minutes prior but were told that seating would begin 30 minutes prior to showtime. This was no problem, it was a nice area and we were happy to look around for a while. Once it was time to be seated we were walked right to our seats and offered a menu. We had already looked at the menu online prior to arriving, and I suggest you do the same as they offer a pretty attractive selection of food and desserts. I ordered the chicken breast sandwhich and my wife ordered the Shimp Po'boy. Sure, it's a bit pricey (around $9/sandwhich with fries), but it's such a nice experience being able to eat "normal" food during the movies. The seats are very comfortable, and I would agree with another review that it would be nice if the seats reclined a bit instead of rocked. The chairs are very similiar to business class seats on airlines. For example, it was a bit annnoying to purchase my tickets a few days in advance, and although only 10 people showed up for the movie, there was a couple sitting right next to us. You would have thought that when they chose their seats they would have noticed that they were choosing to sit right next to another couple. But because of the size of the seating, and the generous amount of space between seats, it was really no problem. Of course you have to deal with the normal slurping, chewing, and clinking of glasses as animals at theaters feel they need to toast their wine glasses every 10 minutes throughout the movie, but overall it was tolerable. Prior reviews complained about the 17% tip; come on now. The wait staff was very courteous and were happy to explain the whole process to you when you are seated. The service is prompt and the food is served within about 10 minutes. They earned their 17%.... Overall this is a good choice if you want to avoid the trashy crowd of a normal theater. You will likely pay a few dollars more, but the relaxed environment, and the lush amenities make this a great option. Do yourself a favor and give it a try; it's only a few dollars more and worth the experience.

Very nice! We did the dinner service with our movie. Please be aware that you are required to pay a gratuity (I think 17.5%). However, it is shared among all the servers and they are very attentive. I had fettuccine and the hubby had salmon for dinner. Both meals were fine and there was plenty of room to eat while enjoying your comfy seat. The popcorn is served in a giant bowl as if you were watching a movie on your couch. We went to a movie after 8, so we were able to experience our movie without kids. No one under 21 is allowed after 8. I would suggest you buy your tickets online if you are seeing a new release so you don't have to wait in line, plus you can pick your seats. Great experience!
(4)Augusto C.
Great food! Much better than I expected. Ordered the cheesesteak with sweet potato fries and cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious so if you are in Hampton give it a try. Oh, just keep in mind this place is not cheap. Other than that, best time at the movies ever!
(4)Mel S.
OVERPRICED! End of discussion. To sum it up. The enviornment is perfect for a movie, but DON'T ORDER THE FOOD! The COUPLE of fries I got were cold (FYI fries come with almost everything, so no avoiding it!) my fish tasted old and freezer burned. Silly me for ordering FISH at a movie theatre. The menu said comes with fries & coleslaw, the coleslaw was literally ONE teaspoon of cabbage on the plate with oil and salt on it. It was a decoration, not a side dish! But the cost was rediculous for what you get. Just go to McDonald's or Subway and bring your own food! It's not like they come back to check on you to see how your food is. Once the movie starts your on your own. So if you want new hot fries you better ask for them b4 the movie starts My boyfriend had the chicken sandwich, he said it was bland, no seasoning just cooked chicken. He barely ate it and of course his fries....you already know the story. Just go for the movie dont order the food. Oh and the drinks are good if you order at the bar and get a good bartender. But $12.00 a pop, we spend well over $70 for a matinee. So come with your credit card ready!

21 & over, No bratty ass kids everywhere, drinks, Food, movies & Bowling! ...Classic!

Way overpriced food of marginal goodness with an automatic 17% tip added. Now, don't get me wrong - I'm a really good tipper who worked in the industry for years with a thorough understanding of the stresses and pressures of wait staff (the reason why I AM a really good tipper ). The waiters and waitresses do less than what buffet waiters and waitresses do and certainly don't deserve 17%. It's not a full service eatery in any form (although it pretends to be). The food portions are ridiculous and WAY overpriced. Don't bother.
(1)John R.
Good food, but pricey indeed. Also, the gratuity level seemed shall we say, gratuitous. Despite that, dinner and a movie were good, and the food I got was very tasty! My soda was crap, but I took it to them and they fixed it. Recommended!
(4)DORIAN D.
Very nice environment for movie watching. However, the food is just average and way over priced. Service was decent. Like others have said, I think billing an 18% gratuity and then telling me if I want refills I have to go get them myself is ridiculous. I called beforehand to make reservations but was told I couldn't make reservations over the phone - I had to go online. What if I didn't have internet access?? Plus, they charge a $1.25 "convenience fee" for purchasing tickets online. I probably won't go back, but if I do it will probably be for a movie only. $70 for a movie, burger, greek salad, and pitcher of beer is just too much.
(2)Kurt T.
Excellent, friendly staff, great food and the theaters are beautiful. Very first class. The dress code, while casual keeps the atmosphere very nice. A+ experience.
(5)Sharon Z.
Very expensive. I've been to this place at least 3 times, and it's easily 80$ for two people. There is another place right across the street that offers dinner and a movie, and we pay less than half that there for more drinks and food. On one occasion we didn't even get into the theater. We were having acouple drinks at the bar before the show started when we were approached by a manager for vilolating dress code. We were both in tank tops (super hot summer day and just came from the beach) and the manager said it was ok I(female) was wearing a tank top, but that they dont allow men in tank tops in their establishment.... This is after we were already served by both the ticket counter and the bar tender without a word about their dress policy.

I've been to many theaters in my life since I love movies and the theater experience. This place does it right. Sophisticated and mature. I love that you have to be over 21 after 8p. Drinks and food served at your hand selected seat. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the movie with another.
(5)Amanda S.
Love this place, but always end up spending at least 80 for two people. Love the setup and always great customer service.
(4)Tiffany W.
Awesome date night spot. Went yesterday to watch Straight Out of Compton, the seats were comfortable, clean environment and awesome food. Highly recommend.
(5)CeCe D.
I purchased a groupon for this theater awhile ago so I decided to use it on Saturday. We walked into the theater and someone politely showed us where to sit. My boyfriend's chair was wobbly and broken, and mine also made loud speaking noises every time I moved. We had already eaten dinner so we just ordered drinks and they never came. We had to go to the concession stand. The couple beside us ordered popcorn and sent it back twice because it was stale. The food didn't look too great, especially judging by the price. I probably won't go back.

A great date night place! My husband and I went for the first time for a much needed date night, we watched the new Mission Impossible. This is now our new favorite place!!! The food was wonderful. The staff were really nice and helpful. The seats so comfy! A real enjoyable experience. Yes things are a little pricy and yes having to order all of your food at one time and balance it on the small t.v. type tray this part is a little challenging but overall things are really well done! My only real complaint was the bathrooms needed some attention and while standing in the hallway before the movie the staff in the kitchen area could be heard having very personal conversations. I did not care for that but when it came time to do their jobs of serving our food they were spot on. If you have not tried this place or need a new date night spot this is the place!
(4)Matt F.
Great night out whether it be for a movie or a fun night out at the lanes. Quick service and free refills on the popcorn. The drinks are reasonably priced and the seating is very comfortable. We had the chicken tenders as an appetizer and they were delicious. All around great time

This is a really nice movie theater that also has a full bar and bowling alley/pool tables attached so it's for all kinds of recreation. The movies shown and times are more limited, but the decor and the leather seats make up for that. I was actually impressed with the quality of the food, my burger and sweet potato fries were cooked to my liking. Food is a little pricey but this is more of a luxury experience. What I didn't like were the bathroom sinks. They're modern but they seem to splash back a little more and water gets everywhere. They probably realized that so the faucet is very close to the back splash so there isn't a lot of room for your hands. This is nit-picky but minor inconvenience. We actually went bowling after the movie as well. Each game costs $10 per person or you can pay by an hourly rate but I don't know what it is. Not a lot of people around on a Sunday afternoon but the music was good. Forgot your socks for bowling because it's summer and an impromptu decision? They sell socks too!

First of all, I'm not a huge fan of going to the movies unless I get free press passes to film festivals (then of course do I go) but other than that I tend to avoid movie theaters. I really can't tell you why, but after this recent visit to cinébistro I might very well have a change of heart. My husband who loves going to the movies has already been here twice and was going on about how I would love it and he wasn't wrong. I did love it. Mainly because there was no people. For the longest time I've been denying my daughter the move experience because I'm a overprotective mom ... not gonna lie. But this day I sporadically said "how about going to the movies? " .. my hubby was overjoyed. It is a very nice looking theater, and when you buy your tickets (don't forget military discount) you get to choose your seat. Since this day was a Wednesday at 6 pm there was no other people so we could easily pick the best spots. We were shown to our seats and were given menus. They had a fair selection of foods and even a kids menu. They explained the menu and that the gratitude was included, something I already knew from reading reviews on yelp. But I really didn't mind. I saw people complaining about having to go out for more drinks and popcorn but I saw the bowls and could not for the life of me figure out how one bowl isn't enough for one movie.. and this is coming from someone who loves popcorn. But oh well. The food came out before the movie started and we could both eat during the previews. I loved the seats .. so big and comfortble. Our daughter did easily fit on my hubby's lap without having to worry about a potential neighbor. I never know what things cost because I never pay but we figured that it would be the same amount eating out as eating there ... minus the tickets of course. And it was worth it. Will I come back? Absolutely! Can I recommend it? Most definitely! but next time I'm getting popcorn
(5)Justin F.
Great place to watch a movie but really expensive to eat, recommend eating prior but even two sodas are 9.00
(3)April C.
Fancy fancy for a movie theater! Bought tickets on Fandango so I could pick my seats early. They seat you 30 mins before the movie starts for dining in, I like that they don't let people straggle in after the movie starts, which is a peeve of mine. I don't like that they automatically add 18% gratuity, especially when last time we ate there, they forgot our ranch and it took asking several people to bring it before somebody finally brought it out. They don't do any refills like they do at Cinema Cafe, so honestly the built in tip is really only for seating you, taking your order, and then someone totally different brings the food out. The seats don't recline like at Paragon, but they are still super comfy leather with trays that swing in and out. Overall a nice place for date night!
(4)Mark Y.
This is the absolute best movie theater in southeastern Virginia! The seats could not be more plush and comfortable. The martinis are right out of a James Bond movie and the food selection/quality are great!!
(5)VonKlutz P.
What's not to like? They serve a nice dinner, you get to see a movie. It's a nice upscale experience. I watched the most recent Terminator movie there. It was good.
(5)K B.
While visiting the area, we came here for dinner and a movie but had to leave shortly after placing our dinner order and before the movie has started. The manager willingly granted our request for a refund. The seating consists of large chairs grouped in pairs that rock slightly. Seating is very limited in the theater so best to arrive early or buy tickets in advance online. We came back later to play table shuffle board and get dessert. All of the Cinebistro employees we encountered were friendly and provided great customer service. We enjoyed our experience and would return when in the area. For all food and beverages there is an automatic 17.5% gratuity added but at the bottom of the receipt it says it can be adjusted at the customers request.
(5)Jennifer R.
We live in Hampton and only go to movies at this theater. You can reserve your seats and have a full meal while relaxing in lounger-like seats in a nice theater. Great for date nights, but my 4-yo loves it too for matinees. Oh and they have a full bar and great food.
(5)Elizabeth J.
I really enjoy this place from the first time they opened it, very sophisticated adult-environment. No disrespect, away from all the children and the noise they bring. I really don't think its a place to bring children. It's an adult centered, once again, environment! For some the price is a little costly but you have to look at it this way look at lunch and a movie or dinner and a movie. Look at it that way.
(5)Bj H.
We saw the new Avengers movie in 3D and had dinner. It was great! This movie in 3D is awesome and that comes from a non-reader of comic books who doesn't much care for action movies. Cine Bistro is a beautiful theater. The seats are wide and really comfortable. The food was very, very good. My friend and I are cheeseburger aficionados. That is our favorite meal and we are always on the hunt for a good one. These cheeseburgers are better than we have found in most restaurants. They were a little over cooked but the flavorful combination of 3 different kinds of beef made up for it. The sweet potato fries were not over cooked and so good. It's a little pricey so not an every week kind of place unless we skip the 3D and just get a snack or no meal. But for an occasional treat it's really great. This has become my theater of choice. A word about the staff. They really provided service at a time when service is virtually dead. I'm a little disabled and have trouble walking any distance. I called ahead to get the "lay of the land" to see if I could do it. The staff person took the time to talk with me and offer suggestions. He didn't make me feel like I was wasting his precious time (what I generally encounter) and was patient with all my questions. I never felt rushed. The serving staff were polite and efficient. They couldn't do enough for us. I wish we could get that kind of service in a lot of restaurants.
(5)Allena H.
Great place to see a movie, but very expensive for such small portions. We didn't know this, but skip it server and get it yourself and save some cash! I was disappointed that at such a nice place with all the rules that no one did anything about the baby that screamed through most of h movie.
(3)William M.
This is probably the best movie theater in Hampton and Newport News. It has a lounge atmosphere but is still a movie theater and a bowling alley. The food has always been consistent and the service is top notch. You have to show up 15min before your movie starts to take advantage of the order at your set option so be early. Other then that not 1 complaint.
(4)Dana G.
I have been coming here sense it opened and I love it!! The food is great and the atmosphere is nice. It is a bit pricey for meals but they have popcorn and all the other good things to have at a movie.
(5)Jesse C.
Comfy chairs, pretty good food, and an over stimulating entrance. I don't remember the audio or the screens being as good as AMC. This place is going for everything. It isn't just a movie theater. Its a bar, bowling alley, dance floor, and a movie theater. I prefer AMC or Paragon to here. I will say the food here is way better than Paragon though.
(3)Candyce M.
Lived in the area for a while and I have never been to this theater. It's a nice setup. I went on a Monday night with some friends and they had a full bar. You can bring your food to your seat from the bar too. I know that they have a bowling alley and pool tables but I didn't see it then. It's good to get your tickets early and get to the theater 30 mins before seating bc they have special times when they seat you. There is staff there if you want to order food and drinks, and they bring it to you. The food/dinks are expensive though. The staff shares the tips that are automatically put on your bill. The food was at our plush seats in time for the movie to start! I will defiantly be by very soon. Military gets discounts Sun to Thurs.
(4)Izell T.
What can I say, this place is it for family entertainment and couples entertainment. Great food theater is awesome, bowling and pool and sports bar, awesome! One of my favorites!
(5)Corinne B.
Comfortable chairs and a nice staff. Food: ok. I ordered the veggie burger, and while tasty-ish, the sweet potato fries were cold. I was also concerned when the food came out 5 minutes after we ordered...like, was there any prep at all to our meals...made me wonder.
(3)Stephanie B.
Now I know why I dont ever cross the water, especially to Hampton. You can shine a place up and build all the pretty buildings you want but fact is your still in Hampton! We came fro a friends birthday, drinks and bowling. The girl running the alley had no friggin' clue what she was doing and could not manage our large group. After 30 mins of mass alley confusion we finally had lanes and shoes. The the wait for the waitress started! This place is a joke! So overpriced, like way fuggin' overpriced, like hide your wallet cause they are coming for your credit cards! One pitcher of Blue Moon, a pitcher mind you that took the Waitress 30 mins to even get ordered and brought to us, was $19.59! There was an automatic gratuity of $2.83 added even though we were only two people ordering one pitcher of beer from a waitress that couldnt serve her way out of a paper bag! We were forced to tip this chick so she really gives 2 shits about good service cause shes gonna make her money anyway! We stopped ordering from her and went right to the bar where you dont get priced gouged, got our beer fast and tipped the bartender because he was friendly and we wanted to, not forced to. I wouldnt come back here even if i had gift cards!
(1)Mityqwik F.
Prices are a little high but the fish and chips were great and made the movie more enjoyable.
(5)Jeremy S.
This place is steadily going downhill. Went with the wife today to catch a movie. Upon ordering our food, we were informed that they were out of ribs, philly cheese steaks, and sirloin steak. WTF???? Although the atmosphere is nice, its not worth the money you pay, for nachos and crab dip...40 bucks, and the food sucked. I will continue to take my business to Paragon.
(2)Sally M.
Fun night out for an adult night of bowling! Service could use better organization. We got there at 5:30 and they said the next reservation was available at 8. A few minutes later, they say 8:30 instead. We come back a bit after 8 to check in and they try to push us back to 8:45. But I voiced my displeasure and the 8:30 reservation was honored. After 8:00 they check IDs and later on in the night there's a DJ and dancing going on. Fun crowd. $10 pitchers of Yuengling, but they use cheap plastic pitchers with the coolers inside...boo! $40 for one hour of bowling for four adults, including the shoe rental. Looks like they allow you to bring in birthday cakes, which is awesome.
(4)Gabriel D.
This review will cover our bowling night with a large group of friends... Let me keep this short and sweet... If you want to bowl do not come here, its overly expensive, half the time your lane won't work, the prices for food or drinks is ridiculous... like 20$ for a pitcher of beer ... what the fuck?! did i just say that?! yeah 20$, because they add about 5$ in Gratuity, FYI, if you do happen to come here just go get your own beer at the bar, its about a 60 foot walk from the bowling area. Some, not all of the staff seem to be either totally uninterested in working there or just ran out of fucks when they walked in the door. Our server caused about 6 of our friends to walk across the street to eat dinner because she was not capable of handling orders. Even the manager is a member of the No fks given society! after I expressed something to him I could not tell if he heard what I had said, or just challenged me to a starring contest that I was losing. Bottom line... I have no been to the theater area which i hear is decent, however the bowling area can be skipped and just go to a real bowling ally .

I'd been to CineBistro twice to see movies in the past three years. But this time I celebrated my birthday with bowling there. It's beautiful inside. Lots of comfy seating in and around the small lanes. I reserved two lanes for my party of 12. Only five people are allowed to bowl per lane. We took turns and played three games. Time flies when you're having fun, really. Our server was super sweet and attentive. The entire staff was, including the DJ that comes around sometime after 9. It got a little loud and a lot harder to see. Still, undeniably a cool place.
(5)Trent L.
I really like CineBistro. Going to a movie can be very tiresome, particularly in cramped seats near loud or obnoxious theater-goers. CineBistro solves most of these problems with large, comfortable seats, limited seating in each theater, reserved seating, dress code, and age restriction after 8pm. The food is good (not great, but good) and reasonably priced considering it is a movie theater (where, like airports, food prices seem to be wildly detached from the rest of the world). I'm now spoiled for CineBistro, but I have to knock off a star for two items: First, the popcorn is still way over-priced despite the rest of the menu being quite reasonable. Second, a huge attraction for me is the age restriction (under 21 not allowed after 8pm), which prevents ill-mannered children from entering (no fault of their own - poor parenting to blame). However, I went to an 8pm showing and children were still allowed in. As long as they buy a ticket and enter the theater before 8pm they are allowed. This means you could find children in your 8 or 8:30 showing. I'd prefer they not sell tickets to anyone under 21 for these showings in addition to beginning the ID check at 8pm.

I'm low key surprised Hampton was able to pull off something like this. Honestly, I'm surprised that Hampton was able to build the Towne Center to begin with. I brought my dad here for Father's Day and had a nice time. The chairs are off the hook, and the food isn't terrible. I was full and almost fell asleep before the previews ended (thank God X-Men came through with immediate action), so the theater is doing something right. The servers and staff were very friendly too. I can't speak to how they are at the bowling alley, but the theater is chill. I'd probably still go to AMC because I like to get in and out on the cheap, but the idea of dinner and a movie at the same time is cool with me. I'll be back.
(4)Cory N.
Yup. They've worked through the problems from last time. I'm a regular there. I love their reward program. I love several of the servers. They know my order well now and its always a good catch up with them when we see them. Food is tasty. I'm a fan. Prices are priced right. They take care of special requests and usually dine there every friday. My usual is the salmon, sub collards for spinach or the steak. Salads are great too. 18 and older after 8pm. Drinks are pricey but nice. Specials are often and should be regular but are not. Food should come within 30 min or its free. It's the only movie theatre I go to. Nothing else is compared.
(4)Geoffrey L.
1. For the price service is a continual issue. Service people are rude and the food specials are often not worth the money! 2. Because of the food setup you feel pressured to get food and make your decisions within 30 min of movie start. if you want something more or refills you have to go out to the stand mitigating the reason for the concept of this location to being with. I understand you do not want servers walking thru the movie but just seems like extra money for a convience I really am not lazy enough to not take care of my self and if I want food just get it myself prior to or during a movie! 3. It looks fancy but it is not cleaner than other movie locaitons even when you pay extra for better seats. 4. The extras encluding a full bar are just not worth it. The bowling ally is very small and it would be better to go to a real ally if that is what you want to do. I would offer they do not have kids things to do really so getting to the movie early is not all that exciting. All in all I do not believe the added cost of this movie location is justified and any AMC is just as nice as going here with less cost. I guess having a seat of your choice is ok but only if buy your ticckets early enough!
(2)Jawad A.
I think, its one of the best fun places to enjoy movies, bowling, pool and dining in this area Hampton. I just wish they have more movie shows in 3d and imax. Overall experience is great while watching movie with very comfortable seats. Good customer service and helpful staff. I like the overall theme.
(4)Rio C.
Watched Hunger Games: The Mocking Jay Part 1 on the second night of release. I would have gone opening night but I was a little slow in locking down tickets for the show. The seats and environment were great. The food was a little overpriced but that was expected. I learned a tip from the guy who sat next to me; if you order a soda, ask for the refill at the same time and just keep it in the extra beverage holder. This cuts down on not having a server to bring you your refill or leaving the show in the middle to get a refill yourself.
(5)Xerxes N.
With all the cool places in the Peninsula Town Center make it a point to eat before or after your festivities at CineBistro. With all that is going on at this place it's hard for them to be great at everything. Thumbs up on the ambiance, the TV screens, pool tables, bowling alley (with no kids after 8pm), the DJ, the bar, etc. As for the food...it's your typical bar scene so do yourself a favor and try something in the area and enjoy your night away. I visited this evening for a friend's birthday party. Our waiter provided great service. Even after moving from the bar to the bowling area he still served us and did so in a timely fashion. For some reason the footlong hot dog looked really appealing to me and while it was decent going down I kept burping all evening and had a stomach cramp shortly after. (Prices are a little steeper on the menu, too.) This is a great place and I can't wait to return for group bowling or even a movie. But as I said, I'll be enjoying my lunch or dinner perhaps at Bar Louie or Monsoon.
(3)Russell B.
Always a great experience here at Cinebistro. Food is always great chairs are really comfortable staff friendly. Bowling alley and bar are nice touch great place to relax, unwind and catch a flick highly recommend.
(4)Chris R.
I love this place. It's cozy with a lot to offer. And the food is great. Perfect date spot in Hampton!!
(5)Nicole M.
Had an amazing time at CinaBistro. The atmosphere is great! The food and drinks are delicious! It is a great place to go unwind, and have fun!
(5)Creagan B.
This Is by far the best movie theater in hampton roads. If you are military go on sunday - thursday for $6. It's a little expensive for the drinks and food is obviously expensive. all you can eat popcorn. all you can drink soda The soda is actually reasonably priced for a movie theater. The seats are really comfortable This is a great place to go on a first date or a 30 year anniversary. They also have a full bar outside with a cool little bowling alley and pool tables. My son and I love this place!!
(5)S W.
Very Nice. But a little pricy. This place has the same idea as cinema cafe but well thought out. First the staff are very professional as if you are dinning in at Ruth Chris steakhouse. The seating arrangement is genius! You but your ticket and pick where you want to sit. So no more waiting in line!!! So buy your ticket in advance and show up when you want cause your seat will be waiting on you and only YOU! The seat are XL and plenty of leg room. Menu are typical for the movie except the one size popcorn and drinks with complimentary refills. So if you want a great experience and have $100 to spend on a family of 4 (This includes tickets, meals, drinks, and popcorn). Also gratuity is automatically included with meals.
(4)Jasmine G.
The chairs are VERY comfortable, and the food is good. The salted chocolate brownie is REALLY good. The servers are nice. We also bowled and had fun bowling too. Overall, this is a VERY nice place and it is definitely better than the other eat & watch places in hampton roads
(4)January P.
I love this movie theater. It's unlike any other dine in theater. The food is delicious! It's upscale and the quality of service is awesome. You even get chocolate mints after the movie.
(5)Michelle L.
Got there a little too early for my movie so we waited at the bar. Nice full bar and reasonably priced. Loved the atmosphere. The food was awesome. Can't wait to be back and try bowling too!
(5)Marianne S.
This place is pretty cool because it has a lot of stuff to do, so if you don't mind this pricey venue then go on in. For me, PTC is not known for phenomenal food which is unfortunate since theres lot of places to eat and CineBistro fails to impress food wise. Dine in and watch a movie places are not so rare nowadays but this place took it up a notch offering a full bar, bowling, billiards, darts and shuffle boards. I've done just about everything here except for the darts which look kinda sad tucked in a corner. Anyways, this place is nice for a date or a small group of friends. The inside is kept usually pretty clean and they have escalators you for folk that don't or cannot use stairs. The movies are slightly higher priced but you re in a nicer establishment unlike the AMC. The food menu for the movies is okay, I ordered a salmon dish and it was okay. For two entrees and two drinks I paid about $85, no tip included. Which wasn't worth it. The food was brought out in decent time but I wish they would have picked up the plates because they got in the way of the already too small retractable table. I like going bowling here especially for a casual date during the right time because its very intimate. The bowling area is small, I think about 5 lanes or so but its cozy. Plus, you can order cocktails, which I recommend the Perfect Gentleman for you chocolate lovers ;). They do military discounts for bowling as well and as expected this place is pretty full on the weekends so I tend to go weekday evenings. Like I mentioned before theres two pool tables and one shuffle board table. I've used both and you can eat and drink while you play. The waiters are usually pretty good about remembering you're there admist the crowd and everything else they have going on. Prices to me seem fair for the billiards, bowling and shuffle board. Which, btw I found out I suck at shuffleboard the same day I played it. Apparently it's an old people sport but it was kinda fun if I was in better company. The bar is also nice but the service can get a little slow even during off peek hours. Overall, if you want a more classy experience to bowl and sip on a cocktail I would go here. However, if you want your standard draft beer and cheap wine with pizza then go elsewhere. It's a good place to relax as long as its not jam packed. I'll return for the cocktails and good service not so much for the food or movies though.
(3)Davidcia G.
Very enjoyable movie experience. Not only can you do dinner and a movie, they also have a nice bar area with plenty of bar stools, and high tables with TVs that display sports games. They have a pool table area and also a bowling alley. In the evenings after 8pm, you have to be 21 or over to enter the building and they do ID you. There is also a dress code. The bowling/pool area has a DJ on the weekends also after 8. They offer a Military discount as well. As far as the food, it is a in theater dining experience where they have waiters, and servers to serve you your food. The prices are kind of steep, and if you do the in theater dining, there is an optional 18% gratuity for the server. There is an optional pick your food up yourself option to avoid gratuity. I recommend not asking the servers to bring you additional things (dressings/ salt or pepper) after they bring your food because chances are they won't return. I've had that happen to me on plenty occasions. The seats are very comfortable and oversized with attached tables. Also a arm rest that lifts. Overall, this is a very enjoyable experience.
(4)Rory J.
I actually really love the concept of this place, the execution is pretty good, too. Pros: 18+ after 8pm: This was especially clutch when I went to see the newest Harry Potter on opening weekend. I sat there in the dark, with my glass of wine, surrounded by adults and it was awesome. Decent food: I've had a sandwich, salad and a few appetizers. All of them were pretty good for a movie theater. Comfort: The seats are really comfortable and conducive to a date night. Booze: They actually have a good selection of beers, wine and cocktails Cons: Timing: You have to get there 30 minutes prior and you have to order all of your food at once, it comes out before the movie and then you pretty much have to sit there with it throughout the whole film. We erred on the side of a bottle of wine once, and ended up having to chug wine at the end of the movie. It was actually pretty funny, but not something I'll do again. Price: The movie ticket it pretty cheap, but you're definitely going to pay for the food. It's like TGI Fridays food at a much higher price.
(4)Natalie D.
The Cinebistro is nice, but they add pre-paid gratuity to your order before they bring out your food. I am all for tipping 20% for good service - AFTER I receive good service, not before. The wait staff simply takes your order, and others actually bring the food out. No one checks on you, or refills your drinks - it's not real service. They say that you can inform the wait staff not to add the prepaid gratuity, but I wonder what would happen to my food... I think that the pre-paid gratuity is enough not to return, I just don't believe it's a good practice. If they stop adding the pre-paid gratuity, I would return.
(2)Alysha D.
I've been to cinebistro a million times, and I've had positive experiences. The food has always been just "ok", but the atmosphere and staff are awesome. The chairs are comfy, and the customer service is superb. (Our server was Elaine! She was great!) However, the food wasn't so great. I ordered a chicken club w/regular fries. My club had a burnt chicken breast, with a dab of mayo. It also came with sweet potato fries (which I did not ask for) and they were COLD. I informed one of the food runners of the mishap, and he assured me that he would bring the new fries. The movie had already started. Fifteen minutes later....no sign i him. I had to go stand in line to get my french fries. While standing in line I saw an employee (Either a server or food runner) dig his nasty hand in a bowl of popcorn which was waiting to go to a customer. Ew. I couldn't believe it. So I from now on I'll eat prior to coming to the movie. Other than that, I'd encourage anyone to go and enjoy. Skip the popcorn, unless you want a side of nail dirt.

Food is good, theater is very comfortable, the picture quality is always great. My only complaint, the only reason they didn't get 5 stars from me is because of their beer selection. Having so many great local breweries I was let down with their generic selection. It would be nice to see some Heavy Seas, Smartmouth, St. George, Legend,Star Hill, Goose Island, etc. Hopefully people in charge read this and make some changes to their taps. Until then cheers.

The greatest movie theater(s) I have ever been to. Cinebistro will ruin any future experience you have with another theater. One of the best marketing campaigns ever. You literally buy YOUR seat, no one else gets to sit in the seat you bought for that movie. The menu is great. There is a dress code, which means no riff-raff hanging around making noise and pissing me off! This place rocks. It is a bit pricey. For any guy who reads this review, save the first time Cinebistro date for an anniversary or birthday, especially if she doesn't know about this place. Trust me, you'll get extra points (two seats next to each other can lift the middle armrest for extra movie-watchin' snuggle time). One more thing: buy tickets in advance on Fandango and pick them up at the kiosk to avoid standing in the ticket line.
(5)Aiden B.
Everything was great (except the service, which was mediocre, so -1 star), and no kids allowed after 8pm! How cool is that?!
(4)Rosella F.
Super fancy. Worth the money for the experience + value. I wish the theater waiters would offer boxes to go at the end of the movie though.
(4)Minda P.
Pros: 18+ after 8pm: They serve alcohol, so this eliminates kiddos and leaves the adults to enjoy date nights! Decent food: I had crab dip & a crab cake sandwich. Pretty darn good for a movie theater. Comfort: The seats are really comfortable and conducive to a date night. Bar: I am preggo & can't drink. However, hubby enjoyed his Jack & gingerale. They actually have a good selection of beers, wine and cocktails. Cons: Timing: You have to get there 30 minutes prior and you have to order all of your food at once, it comes out before the movie and then you pretty much have to sit there with it throughout the whole film. There isn't enough space in front of you for your food if you order apps, drinks, & entree. But I'm glad the waiters aren't constantly coming through during the movie disturbing my view. Price: The movie ticket it pretty cheap, but you're definitely going to pay for the food. It's like TGI Fridays food at a much higher price.
(4)Katie N.
My husband and I really love cinebistro. No, it's not cheap, but as far as experience goes, we definitely think it's worth it as a treat every once in a while. Our favorite things about it: the fact that after a certain time the theater is 21 and up (this is AMAZING if you've ever been annoyed by teenagers acting crazy in a movie), you can enjoy wine, beer, or cocktails with your movie and meal, and most importantly, when you buy tickets online you can pick where you'd like to sit ahead of time. This last thing is crucial for when you want to see a movie that's just recently come out and you don't want to have to sit in the front because there are no good seats left or have to arrive an hour early.

I've been to CineBistro several times in the last couple of years. My normal movie and dinner combo theater is Cinema Cafe--which has locations all over Hampton Roads. CineBistro takes the dine-in movie experience to a more sophisticated level than Cinema Cafe. The seats are nicer, the service is nicer, and the food is nicer. In fact, I would say that while I would compare Cinema Cafe's food to more of a fast food type fare, I would compare CineBistro's food to any quality restaurant. When you're done with your movie, check out their bowling alley. That's right, they have a freaking bowling alley here as well. There are jumbo TV's at the end of the alleys for watching the game, too. The quality you get at CineBistro comes at a cost, though. Their food and drinks are NOT cheap. I routinely pay over $80 for myself and my girlfriend's dinner and drinks (this does not include the cost to get in the theater). The bowling alley is also pretty pricey--I recall spending $40 for 1 hour of open bowling the last time I was there. Overall, I really enjoy CineBistro. It's a fun time and it's located in a cool shopping center--so you really can pack a whole Saturday afternoon and evening in one location.

This place looks amazing. The decor and atmosphere is awesome. I wish we had something like this back home where I live. The drinks were tasty. The service on the other hand killed it. Our waitress was rude. It took 30 minutes for drinks to get to our table. We asked to get our bowling lane switched and they couldn't because they didn't have any lanes open but I was staring at 3 of them. When I made that statement they said they were reserved for later times and she couldn't move us there. But she couldn't control the group that had one lane put took over the second lane. The manager wasn't helpful at all. He was spineless and looked lost as well. We ended up playing pool for two hours got movie and bowling passes for another time. I had fun because of the company I was with. The place itself........ disappointing.
(1)Jennifer G.
This is where I come to watch movies! You can choose where you sit and order online. I don't love the food but I like that there is a meal option. The drinks are great and the bar has a few craft brews on tap and in bottles. Which you can order from the theater too. Also it is not that much more than going to the AMC 24 just down the road and the seats are FAR FAR better.
(4)Nikko M.
Our hummus was over priced and was not flavorful. The crab dip hardened quickly. I got my drink order 10 minutes AFTER my food and my beer was in a plastic cup, which was odd to me. It is a unique dining/cinema experience, but it is not of the best quality food experience. It may seem fancy but I even prefer Cinema Cafe over the serving and food experience I had.
(2)Naty S.
The movie was great but the service was awful. If you live in Virginia Beach, like I do we'll your not missing anything.
(1)Dennis R.
I had never been to the CineBistro. I had heard a few of my friends talking about it. Nice mash up of a bunch of different ideas. Pricey food. Great movie watching experience. Bowling. Sounded interesting. We reserved 2 bowling lanes, for a after dinner event for a birthday affair. I am not a bowler (there is a 9 lane bowling alley upstairs) so I walked around. Pool. Bowling. Soft-tip dart boards. Shuffleball. Movies. expensive food and drink. The place was clean. Our server was attentive. The two large TV screens that made up the back wall of the bowling alley, were a nice distraction (though we were in the midst of a Noah level downpour, and the DirecTV petered out numerous times. We'll come back and try out the movie experience (though I am a solid fan of the Cinema Cafe, which is not too far from this storefront). And. Darts. It'll be great to throw darts, without coming out of a restaurant /bar smelling like a piece of cigarette smoked fish. As in the other venues in the Peninsula Town Center, you have to pay Hampton oppressive food tax, and the ridiculous PTC tax for the privilege of coming here. Park in the lot, so you do not have to pay the parking meters at PTC. Decent experience this afternoon. Looking to try out the other items offered here. @Removeyourhat

This has to be the most luxurious movie theater my tooshie has ever sat in! Why does NoVa not have a movie theater of this caliber?!? I'm so sad! The seats are so plush and comfortable, with individual sliding tables (think airplane seats). Spacing in between each seat is generous; I thought my friend was so far away when he was sitting right next to me! You can buy and bring pitchers of beer and/or food for your movie enjoyment. Absolutely incredible. NoVa needs to step up its game. No loud and obnoxious hooligans in the theater like we find at Tysons AMC or Alexandria Hoffman. JUSTTTT SAYYYYYYIN. Yall are so annoying. PLUS--they have their own bowling alley here. (I have yet to venture into that one.) AND it's cheaper than NoVa movie ticket prices! THE HELL!!!! WHY do I pay $12-$14 for CRAPPY fabric seats filled with annoying kids who like to make not-so-funny comments out loud and this theater is $7.50 (M-TH; $10.50 F-SU) for first-class airplane-like seating?!? Seriously. Considering. Moving. Here. A++++++, CineBistro. A++++++!
(5)Brie L.
The service and the insanely comfortable chairs are really the main selling points to this place. I'm all for paying for quality, but this place makes you pay without fully delivering. Their alcoholic drinks are really watered down, and their food is not at ALL worth what they are charging - but, the servers in there are very dedicated and do a great job of making you feel welcome. I thought the prices were outrageous - paid $15 for fish and chips that were greasy and gross, as well as $10 for a very watered down long island... nah. We will probably go again but we probably won't be ordering their overly priced food or drinks next time. Again - those seats though! Super comfortable!

We went last night for the first time in several months and were really disappointed in how things have changed. We bought our tickets online (thank you Fandango surcharge!) and arrived 40 minutes early for an 8pm showing. I never see anything there before 8pm because I don't like kids, and don't want to be around them. Sorry if that makes me sound like a you-know-what, but I don't have any of my own and don't want to be forced to be around anyone else's. Staff told us they wouldn't start seating until 30 minutes prior so we stood in the lobby waiting with everyone else while employee after employee sauntered (seriously? take your time why don't you?) into the theater with silverware, menus, silverware again, more silverware (really? you couldn't carry more than 3 sets at a time) into a theater where the last movie had ended over 2.5 hours ago. Why wait until the last minute to set it up for the next showing? The 7:30 came and went and they still weren't allowing people in. Finally at 7:40, we were ushered to our seats. We were the first ones in, and our server took our order relatively quickly yet we were one of the last to recieve our meals (nothing fancy, a cheeseburger and a cheesesteak). The biggest disappointment: a family of 4 seated directly in front of us, complete with 2 teenagers. And to our right? Two teenage boys, one of whom literally tried to order a beer and when carded by the server, claimed to not have his ID card. Why oh why Cinebistro, do you have this wonderful rule about 21 and up and not enforce it??? Additionally, when we left, I noticed they no longer have security at the door checking IDs, so this whole rule must have slipped on the priority list for them. Seriously disappointing. Also, there was a mix up with other customers' orders which required the wait staff to come back in and talk to them **3 different time** after the movie had already started. I understand stuff happens, and wouldn't have been so irritated, even though they blocked my vision of the movie 6 seperate times if the server had any awareness of the volume of his voice. He was so loud, I could hear everything he said/asked even though the customers' responses were inaudible. At least they understood how to whisper. Very distracting to say the least. Overall, this place is still by far the best option and we refuse to go elsewhere so I guess we will just suck it up until something better comes along.

Really hope this chain makes its way to the west coast! What's not to love? Giant, wide, high back, reclining, rocking, leather seats w/ upholstered arm rests and swing out tables to eat tasty (albeit overpriced) food that you order before the show while you enjoy your movie on state of the art screens w/ crisp, excellent sound. Stand outs on the menu include: -Old bay pretzel sticks, -artichoke crab dip, -chicken fettucine alfredo, -bruleed vanilla cheesecake, -deconstructed peanut butter pie, -overload chocolate cake. They also offer a full bar, coffee, espresso, standard movie concessions like movie theatre candy, soda, water, etc. You name it. If you want to eat in your movie, you need to arrive 30 min before show time and be warned that gratuity is included. This isn't the end of the world though because I've been several times on week day nights and weekends and the service has always been incredibly prompt, courteous, friendly, professional, patient, and accommodating. If you're looking for a budget friendly place to take the kids to watch the newest animated junk, go somewhere else. If you're looking for a premium dining and movie watching experience and willing to pay a little more for it, this is your place.

This venue is such a good look for our area! Good times include: bowling, arcade (a few games), bar scene, full service, movie viewing while dining. If you want a different movie experience you should try visiting here! The food is not superb but it's ok. The pricing is a bit much for the quality of food you receive, but it's edible and the experience/atmosphere itself is worth a shot. You can eat and watch a movie then bowl a few games when you're finished. Now, if it's a busy night, you may have to wait a while to get a lane. It's not a full bowling alley. There are about 15 lanes (could be more). If you dine while watching a movie gratuity is added to your bill, but like anywhere else you have the choice to not have it added and you can add your own amount. A personal observation, it seems as though most popular urban films are not shown here (i.e. Think Like a Man and Let me Explain...to name a few) at all. I believe this has something to do with crowd control. Overall, you should at least give this place a shot. If you are coming for date night, plan to spend at least $50 maybe more. Visited June 2013

I must admit, this is the nicest cinema cafe experience that I've ever had. The overall decor of the cinebistro is excellent. You can't help notice that as you go up the escalator into the building. I've been there on several occasions and experienced the bowling, pool tables, bar and movie theater. The movie theater by far is my favorite of all the attractions. And it is almost impossible to sit down in their theaters and not order some food. The service is awesome and the food is pretty good. You can pretty much expect to pay prices comparable to other sit down restaurants in the area. The seating in the theaters is the greatest. My wife and I love it. I found that the bowling alley was pretty expensive compared to other spots in the area. However, I know that the ambiance at decor go into pricing. There are only a few lanes. Perfect place for a small party. Your overflow company can shoot pool and mingle at the bar while they wait for a movie or to bowl. Again, nice place, can get a little pricey if you don't watch yourself. Good date night spot.

Love love love this place! Great for a date night or girls night! Now the theatre tickets aren't expensive, it's the drinks and good! But hey what can you expect your getting everything served to you while the movie is rolling... I recommend getting a pitcher of beer to start! They do offer military discounts, every time I've been the service and all employees have been very nice and attentive. Bathrooms were kinda dirty...
(4)Aaron S.
This is the first time I've ever encountered a theater like this... My girlfriend and I went for a couple drinks, and a movie with the in-theater dining experience. The service was phenomenal, drinks were well priced and the seats were very comfortable! My only complaint is that the food was slightly overpriced for the quality (Hence the 4 star rating), but I wouldn't have expected anything different from a movie theater. We highly recommend a trip here!! We didn't get a chance to try the bowling lanes (a bit pricey) or the pool table (there was a long wait when we were there) but will likely be returning in the future

This place was great. I didn't give it 5 stars is because I have experience a better dinner/movie theater experience in Bethesda, MD. This theater is in an excellent location. Next time, I would definitely come back for the bowling alley and bar adjacent to the theater. I had the sausage and shrimp which was good, but nothing unique or special. The desserts and drink were great though. I had the Perfect Gentleman, which was tasty, but I wish the drink was larger. Others who had the mojitos and margaritas had much larger portions. If I really wanted to get my fill though, I would've gotten a pitcher of beer! The apple cream pie and white chocolate bread pudding were amazing. My friends and I just kept nibbling on them the entire movie (even though we probably would've scarfed them down immediately if there wasn't a movie going on). The Groupon was great as we pain $11 for 2 tickets. This is a steal as the Bethesda theater was $20 for one. Attire is causal, but I recommend dressing up a little bit because it seemed most others were dressed for a fun night out.
(4)Jenifer B.
It's been a while since my first visit to this theater but when Groupon posted a voucher I couldn't resist coming back. The entire building is beautifully designed. I love how chic everything is, especially the bathrooms. The seats are lush, big and comfy. I like choosing my seat and not feeling like I have to make a mad dash to get s good spot. The menu is typical with drink options but in my opinion everything is grossly overpriced. 2 waiters passed us a number of times and we ended up going to the window to order our drinks. At the end of the movie we were greated with chocolate mints which was a nice touch. Overall it's a great place to luxuriate while watching a movie, but you will pay handsomely for your experience.

Oh how we loved getting that Groupon deal! Only $11 for two tickets! Woop! When my boyfriend called and said let's go check out that horror flick at Cinebistro, I was ready to ride! We decided to see The Gallows on a Monday night at 8 p.m. When we arrived, we were certain to get their early and we had absolutely no problems checking in. We placed our order and tried to relax as we waited for the movie to began. We immediately noticed there were two loud couples a few rows above us. I turned around and noticed they had quite a few drinks on hand.... I guess that explains their behavior. Anyway, we laughed about how loud and silly they were but we both agreed that they had better be respectful and quiet during the movie. We didn't have to wait long for our order. It arrived in time for the movie to begin. We were very excited to see this horror flick, we were on the edge of our seats and then all of a sudden, the loud couple behind us began with their ridiculous outbursts. It went on a few times and I really did not feel like getting up out of my seat to seek assistance from an attendant, so I yelled out for them to be quiet and my boyfriend did the same and asked that they be respectful to everyone who was trying to enjoy the movie. They did not respond and thankfully they remained quiet throughout the rest of the movie. The Gallows was very corny, however it did capture our attention long enough for us to remain for its entirety. It wasn't the scary movie we had hoped for but we had a good time aside from having to deal with those rowdy folks above us.

We ventured across the water since we had a groupon to use for this place and we figured it's a great chance to see what the Peninsula has to offer. We pull up to Peninsula Town Center where this movie theater is at and it is pretty packed for a Saturday night. We ended up parking closer to Target, but there are parking spots in the other anchor stores as well as street parking. We arrive at the theater and pick our seats for the movie. We ended up going for a later time since there was a better selection of seats. They gave us these nice big tickets, which I love since I happen to collect my movie tickets. We were told seating would occur about 30 minutes before showtime. We show up and decide to hit the concession stand since we were just getting popcorn. Glad we did since everybody else inside was ordering some food and that process can take time. Food ordering only happens before the movie starts and served around the time the movies begins. If you happen to want something, you just gotta hit the concession stand and order it yourself. The seats are reserved when you buy the ticket and it really gears towards couple since the seating is paired off. The seats are leather and comes with those rotating tables (reminds me of a school desk). The bummer is that they don't recline, but still nicer than the typical movie theater seat. You gotta watch your money when you spend here since if you order dinner - you easily spend about $80 per couple. We opted to eat ahead of time since there are plenty of restaurants around, but it's really all what you are into. The popcorn is definitely worth it since you get complimentary refills all for $8. Oh yeah, you can treat yourself to an alcoholic drink while you watch too. I wish they had a CineBistro closer to home for me, but it's nice to venture out a bit to see what else is out there.

I am a big fan of Cinebistro! I have been going here for years! Occasionally you will see a Groupon for B1G1 and it's awesome. For special (and goofy) movies like Magic Mike, I've arranged ladies nights both times for fun nights out. You can pre-purchase tickets and pick seating and not have to worry about "bad" seats. Not many "bad" seats in this joint though. I have not bowled here, been to the bar much or done the other things that Cinebistro offers - just the movies. My experiences here have been a clean theatre and eating space, great service (tip is automatic...deal with it, this isn't Cinema Cafe) and the food is usually very, very good. And to clarify - yes you can remove the tip but why would you? Maybe if you're a jerk. I've never had bad service and there's been one time in my life I didn't tip and it wasn't here. If you want the option of being cheap then stay at home. This place isn't cheap. It's about $15 per person for food and soda and they bring it to you. If you don't want to tip someone for their service then go get it yourself. I'll never understand why people go out and spend a lot but screw the servers. They make maybe 2.13 an hour. Shame. Anyway- I say usually because I have had a couple of miss meals so I'm reserving the extra star. I have found the best time to go is the movie showing when they first open for the day. Everything is fresh, hot and it's like calling someone on a Monday vs. a Friday - you're getting a better plate of food. I wish it was like that all the time but I find the busier and crazier they are, things start to slack. Which would be okay at say, Cinema Cafe where you're not paying a lot of money - but for the price - it needs to be 150% all the time. Bathrooms have always been clean. Very nice place to go on a date - seats are super comfy (a close second is Paragon which reclines) and my favorite meal is the quesadilla when it's fresh. Desserts are yummy but small portions for the price. Everything is delivered at once - drink, entree and dessert as to not interrupt during the movie. The drinks are HUGE and if you need a refill after the movie starts, you're welcome to walk a short distance outside and they will refill it for you. You can buy tickets on Fandango as well or go to the Box Office and save. They have a STRICT under 18 policy which I found out the hard way one time as I had to send my daughter home for a movie we pre-purchased. They ID at the door. Also they are not open until the first movie of the day begins. So if you're looking to buy tickets or go for whatever reason, make sure a movie is playing or the doors will be locked. Ruined a lunch hour that way. Enjoy.

Watched "Jurassic World" with my husband at CineBistro a few weeks ago. This was our first time at this theatre & we were trying to take advantage of our Groupon tickets before the baby comes. We were in awe of how big CineBistro was... It's like a waaaaaay better version of FunScape (for those of you who remember that place, haha). When we got to the ticket counter, the very nice woman selling tickets noticed that I was with child & told us she would be seating us in the handicap section (see my tip for this venue). She hooked us up with two of the best seats in the theatre! We had plenty of room around us & it was easy for me to make my way to restroom during the movie. The food, while overpriced, was still pretty good. Hubs got steak (big surprise) and I tried the shrimp pasta dish (very tasty). We split the bread pudding... Soooo good. I will definitely order that the next time we go there! We had such a great time... Had to knock off a star because the food was expensive! But we will definitely be back!

I'm a Southside girl so cinebistro is not as convenient for me but I made it a point to come and enjoy a more upscale way to view a movie. but I didn't care for it. I liked the seating. The seating wasn't what I was expecting from the website so that was a disappointment that I could have only received after I purchased my ticket. The tiny trays available for food make me a super eater feel like my multiple entrees aren't welcome. I come to eat first and watch the movie second!!! The food was so mediocre. Like McDonald's would have been better. I got a cheesesteak and some nachos and I genuinely felt like I wasted my time venturing the HRBT. The venue is nice and bowling is a cool option especially at night. I have been to the cinema cafes in the Southside many times and the food is never an issue something as swanky as cine bistro was sure to be a hit I thought. Oh well.

My husband and I love coming here to see a movie. It is updated and always clean. The food surprisingly has always been pretty tasty. The chairs are spacious and comfortable. However I do wish that they reclined. I love that I am able to pick my seats on the computer screen before the movie starts. I must give it 3 stars because my most recent experience was not the greatest. We arrived early to our movie so decided to order dessert at the bar. Unlike the in-dining service, the bar does not automatically add gratuity. The bartender put in our dessert order and gave us a pager to come pick them up when it was ready. We still added her a tip, although she did not do much for us. Three days later, I noticed in my bank account statement that she had totally disregarded what we had tipped her on the credit card receipt and added an extra tip for herself! We called the manager and he was able to comp us for that mistake. Still, beware of your receipts!
(3)Charlotte T.
Service was awful! When I arrived the host behind the counter did not greet me but continued to talk to coworker. While in the theater that only had one other couple, we waited about 20 minutes before we saw a waiter. He totally misunderstood the order. The sever spilled the drink on myself and hubby and DID NOT apologize. I will not be going back.
(1)Daniela C.
This is my second time here, and my first experience was great. The staff was nice and the food was decent. Now after purchasing 6 tickets online and making the trip out here with my family they made me aware of their policy about being 21 after a certain time. Usually I would be understanding about this but it was not posted anywhere on the website. I liked this place but some policies should be made more clear.
(3)Martina G.
I've only been here twice now using my Groupon deal of 11$ for two tickets. The place itself had a very nice ambiance. If you're 21 and over I recommend going after 8pm. The food was great and they came in appropriately priced portion sizes. The service is not that great though. When the servers take your order make sure you tell them everything you need such as an extra cup of water or napkins. Our server didn't come back like he said he would and with the gratuity automatically added to your bill is kind of a bummer considering the service wasn't that great. I gave it three stars because of the actual place being very nice and the food as good but overall experience was just okay.
