I loved everything about my experience here. The waitress was quick and very kind, the large windows provided a bright, open ambiance, and the food was exactly what I would expect from a local restaurant. Every dish tasted fresh, and the presentation was spot on. I had the fried fish sandwich (forgive me for already forgetting the artists' names) with the red potato fries. The fish was fried perfectly and I got some homemade ranch to accompany my fries. My boyfriend tried the ham, pear, Brie, and fig jam sandwich with chips. He says, "it was yummy!" The bite he shared with me was perfectly balanced with the sweet jam and salty ham. My mom and dad each got a salad. The baby arugula with raspberries and Parmesan, and the warm butternut squash salad with spinach and candied pecans. They both finished quickly with the half size being a perfect portion! My mom also tried the chowder which was creamy and tasty! Overall, you need to try this restaurant because the quality of the ingredients they use is superior to most places around here. You can feel good about yourself that you're supporting local farms, and your body will feel good since you're fueling up natural food!

Terrific lunch, sweet potato fries are a must. And the dinner is lovely. Shrimp scampi can be easily shared between 2 people.

YUM! When I walked up to The Artist's Table which is above the Harvest Moon grocery store, I read their sign showing specials and "Fish and Chips" stood out to me. I stopped to think about this food option being that the restaurant is in the mountains but I thought I would give it a try! Before I tell you about the fish, let me tell you about the view from the restaurant. You can sit in or outside but we choice to sit outside. From your outside table you get to take in the gorgeous views of the mountains and on a clear day, there really is nothing better than that. So back to my meal, I opted for a salad instead of the chips as I am trying to cut back on my potato intake but the fish is what I want to talk about. Instead of the normal cod, they used tilapia. Now I've had fish and chips many places, including pubs in London and this fish ranks right up with that! The fish was unbelievably flaky and the batter was crispy but not too thick. I would drive the 5 hours to just go back for the fish and chips (and cross my fingers that they have it since it was a special). They also have a bunch of sandwiches named after artists and some wonderful looking salads. Please drop on by if you are near Floyd, VA, you will be happy you did!

Excellent meal - grilled swordfish. Great raspberry cheesecake for dessert.

What a fantastic place to eat and to experience a friendly atmosphere! We were welcomed with a smile and the staff was very accommodating and understanding about a gift certificate issue, which was 100% my fault. The restaurant has beautiful chestnut tables, which are native to Floyd, with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside where we could look at art from artists all over the country while we waited for our food. The atmosphere was calm, fun, and inviting (even for our 6 month old). The menu is made up of a variety of seasonal foods from local farms. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the high quality of food that you receive. The sweet potato fries that we ate for an appetizer were some of the best we have ever had. We had the grass-fed beef burger and a chicken sandwich with ham, which came with yummy waffle fries (and I got the apple chips for only $1 extra). The chicken was some of the best chicken I have ever tasted in a restaurant! It was juicy and full of flavor. Since we loved our lunches so much, we decided that we just had to have dessert (especially since they were displayed and looked so appetizing!). We had the peach cobbler, which was warmed with fresh whipped cream, the blueberry cheesecake, and a sugar cookie with butter cream frosting. I am not usually a huge cheesecake fan, but this was the most delectable cheesecake I have ever eaten. The butter cream frosting on the cookie was made with pomegranate and did not use food coloring to make it pink. We have certainly found a new favorite place to go for lunch, and we will have to go back and try their dinner menu too. I am quite picky nowadays when I go out to eat because it seems like the food just tastes so processed, but not here! We really enjoyed the whole experience of eating here and highly recommend this restaurant. What a great addition to this Floyd community.

This restaurant has only been open for a few months, but it's wonderful. Delicious food, presented with panache and enthusiasm. Local ingredients from Virginia and North Carolina. Charming atmosphere with pottery by artists all over the country. Indoor and outdoor dining. Both lunch and dinner. You MUST try them.
