Let me first tell you that Carmella is Awesome ! We were last minute trying to find a place to make a Birthday cake for my birthday and my 2 daughter-in-laws. Not only could she do one for us, she was able to swing the whole meal. She dazzled our tastebuds with her homemade Spinach Lasagna( with real spinach leaves), a Salad with her Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing ( which is magnificent ) the biggest meatballs I have ever seen with her home made sauce & the finale was a three layer Carrot Cake oh my it was scrumptious !!!! What an awesome birthday I had. Thank you Carmella !!!!!

Fantastically friendly waitress (Terry), and great atmosphere. We were at Luray for the day and came over for a meal. Not much to choose from for restaurants, as you can tell, but this was a sweet local spot. Do not expect in and out service or a "knock-out" meal but do expect a nice time and to leave feeling full and satisfied. Get the clams. The pro: the atmosphere. The cons: I had to wait for a while to even get someone's attention (and the woman at the bar looked annoyed with me when I asked what was the menu and if I should seat myself) and then after doing so, had to go back to the bar and ask for my wine. Which is fine if I was a regular, but took way too much effort on my part in general (and I do not like to wait for my wine). We are city folk, so take this for what you will. We are also foodies, and although I can't rave about the food, my 6 yr old son devoured the clams, garlic bread, and caramel turtle. And my not picky at all husband devoured hIs meatballs. Everything else was really sweet. If you have some time, and you don't care about having water, salt and pepper or even a real candle on the table, then pay them a visit. The fire side table is adorable, so sit at that table if you can. The singer was another sweet highlight, as was the building itself. Amazing windows, and HIGH ceilings make it a sight to see. Ask for Terry. She is really really nice.

Pleasantly surprised with great lunch. Ordered a side of cole slaw with my sandwich and the first bite told me this was going to be a great lunch. It was obviously made from scratch and was the best cole slaw I've ever tasted. Nothing like you buy in the grocery store or get at an average restaurant. This was very different and in a good way. The sandwich was also excellent. Can't wait to go back and try more, especially the Edinburger!

We stopped in for lunch and were so happy we did! The building is older and historic-looking. We were instantly greeted by the owner/chef and she sat us and gave incredible service throughout our stay. She suggested the meatball subs and after she explained them, we got both, the Buffalo Chicken and regular. We also ordered the pasta salad and the cole slaw, as both sounded amazing. There were other entrees on the menu we really wanted to try and after she explained how everything is sourced locally (VA bacon, etc), we knew we would have to come back and try more and different dishes. The food we did order was amazing! Some of the tastiest and tender meatballs! Salads were also excellent! They also offer vegetarian dishes and they looked incredible! Definitely a place you MUST try when in the area! In fact, this place should be on DDD!

The Rueben was wonderful ,but hardly warm enough to melt the cheese. The pasta salad was dry. The service was very slow. One waitress but only three tables full. Great ambiance although the antiques gave the restaurant a musty smell. Restrooms and dining area was clean. We would eat outside again. The stars given are for taste.

3.5 stars ... Very friendly service and Carmella herself was engaging and informative about the food, and her plans for her expansion. Pastries and desserts are clearly a strength here, and the decor and setting are just wonderful. Prices are very reasonable and the food is clearly freshly homemade. The cuisine tends toward real ingredients, lightly prepared, and tends away from heavy or fatty preparations. It will be very appealing to many ...

What a wonderful find! My husband stops in at Murray's Fly Shop when we are traveling through, and I sat in the car last time. Saw Carmella' and went in. Husband joined me, and we had a suprisingly wonderful lunch! He had the meatball sandwich (he is a meatball connoisseur), and it was outstanding! I had a delicious Ruben. The coleslaw is fresh, crunchy and so tasty! The owner, Carmella, is delightful; very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely make a point to go there again if we are anywhere nearby!

Good food, great prices, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Had cappuccino here awhile back and it was made perfectly. The food is delicious, high quality, and prepared perfectly. It's a great place to take your family, meet friends or go on a date. Nice selection of wines too. This is the Italian restaurant to visit if you are staying close or just passing Edinburg. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We stumbled upon Carmella's when we were driving along 81S and needed a place to stop for lunch. We really enjoyed our lunch here - the food was tasty, the space was lovely and Carmella was so very welcoming and nice. All the food was homemade, which is a really special treat when you are traveling on the road or really any time at all.

Attractive interior, two rooms one with a small bar. Nice large tables and high ceilings. We had a very pleasant meal there. Pasta was good, as were the salads. Friendly staff. The menu wasn't huge, but it suited our family well (three small picky eaters among us).

This is our favorite in the area. There are great sandwiches and salads any time, but Carmella prepares two dinner specials that are always excellent. It is a sports bar on one side and a restaurant on the other with live music most weekends that is quite tasteful and good. For drinks she has a huge variety of beers (six on tap) and wines as well as excellent Italian sodas. You also won't go wrong with any of her homemade desserts. We have noticed several other "regulars" so you know the food is very good for continued repeats. We love food and this is the best around.
