L'Etoile catered our wedding of over 130 guests at The Farmhouse at Cardinal Point. It was a pure joy to work with Vickie and Mark Gresge to select the menu of delicious food: mini ham biscuits which one guest said (after eating 12 of them) were the perfect morsel -- "not too dry and not too moist, just dry enough and just moist enough," mini crab cakes with creme fraiche, rosemary-infused tomato confit with truffled local goat cheese en croute, kale salad with dried fruits and champagne lemon vinaigrette ("not just any kale salad," said one guest, "the most delicious kale salad EVER"), shrimp n grits with bacon and tomatoes (we could have served double and it all would have been gone), hanger steak grilled to perfection on site with a basil and spinach chimmichurri sauce, roasted rosemary potatoes, and summer vegetables grilled on site (my mouth waters as I write this...). The entire team was absolutely, entirely, and completely gracious, pleasant, accommodating, polite -- we could not have asked for a better group of professionals and artists to help us celebrate our special day. All of our guests remarked at how nice (I know it's an overused and not entirely descriptive word) everyone was -- all afternoon through set-up and all night through tear-down -- bartenders, servers, coordinators: perfectly perfect in every way. My husband and I RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY -- the highest possible rating one could get doesn't do L'Etoile justice. THANK YOU Vickie, Mark and team!

Okay, so, hubby and I visit Charlottesville frequently because our good friends live there. We had the wonderful opportunity to experience our favorite restaurant's catering services at a party that we attended during our last visit. Our friends had a 30 year anniversary and L'Etoile Star Catering did their thing... All I can say is WOW. Southern hospitality at its finest! We had a lovely field greens salad to start, which was served with warm Chiabatta and herbed butter. Really tasty. I've never had beef burgundy before. This was absolutely delicious! It was cooked with winter root vegetables. Real comfort food! Dessert was a chocolate/apple bread pudding with warm caramel and creme anglaise sauce. OMG. I ate every bite. I have to say that the coffee was so good! Dark and velvety (French roast?) and really hit the spot. These people know their food. The service was spot-on and friendly, too. Can I say? They are like ducks: Paddling like heck underneath, but cool and calm on the surface. I SO WISH they existed here at home! I would hire them in a second.
