Big Jim's catered an event I coordinated for 400 paying participants last April. They were overpriced - $10 a head for hamburgers/hotdogs & buns. LITERALLY. They didn't bring any condiments, except for some reason relish? Not even cheese for the burgers. They were overstaffed - At least 4-5 staff to grill (understandable), but the staff seemed to have brought their family. Several children were running around in "Big Jim's uniform" (tshirt), loitering, and eating the paying attendees food. The were slow - Dinner was to be served at 5 (outdoor buffet style). Big Jim's arrived at 4, had to set up, light the grills, and then prepare food. Folks were waiting in line as well, as pans of hotdogs/hamburgers were emptied and not refilled for quite a while. I am grateful Big Jim's agreed to do such a large event after several other caterers backed off, but I really wish they were more prepared or I got more value for the cost. General disappointment was had by all. We will not be working with them again.
