Made my first visit to Kabob House in what used to be Panchero's. The sign at the door boasted lunch kabob specials at prices that are a bit high for this type of restaurant. The young lady at the cash register was very pleasant but had to refer to the printed menu to figure out that I ordered the quabili palau. I took my seat and waited a fairly long time during which the cook shouted questions at three of the customers what they had ordered. When my food was ready the cook threw in a piece of bread and asked if I wanted hot sauce on the side. The quabili palau is served with rice, spinach, and lamb in an interesting Afghan gravy. The rice and lamb were pretty decent; not the best I've ever had but good for this type of restaurant. I was surprised to find large pieces of lamb under the rice. They were good but lacked the nice gravy of the quabili and sort of threw off the ratio of meat to rice. The dish was piled high with food. The spinach had a sharp, bitter taste and I ate little of it. The bread was especially good - better than bread at upscale Afghan restaurants. I tried the hot sauce even though the meal was quite flavorful without it. The sauce has a yogurt base and would probably go very well with a kabob. I'm going back after a few weeks to try a kabob and see if they have improved their ordering system. All-in-all a pretty good showing for a new fast food restaurant.

Best chicken kabobs around. The people there are really nice.
(5)Shelly M.
I admit to not being an authority on Afghan food. But I know tasty treats when I eat it. My lamb kabob fell under that category. You get free soup while waiting for your order. Even though the noodles were over cooked, the broth was delicious. Nice departures from the usual fast food fafe

Tried this place a few months ago. Looking to find a place a little closer to home then my usual Dulles Kabob.First impression was the friendly staff which has remained consistent in the 3 times that I have been there. The chicken kabob platter is delicious, the chicken moist and flavorful. I have also tried the salmon kabob which I thought might be dry. Oh no, moist with wonderful spices. They offer an array of sauces to put on the rice. The spinach and eggplant were both were very tasty. Although the salad is small and simple, the dressing gives just enough acid to keep things fresh. The bread although good, is a little heavier than I like. The price seems average for kabob places. I feel that friendly service and great food is worth paying a little more. I am so happy to have found a great kabob place to frequent on my way home from work. Highly recommend!
(4)Paul J.
Very solid food. They made my lambchops to order. The seasoning on everything was very good. Overall a good place to get kabobs. The worker gives some complimentary chicken soup while you wait, which was very nice. I'd definitely recommend this place.

I will not go again. Too expensive and not that good at all. The quantity and quality of meat should have resulted in a much lower price for the salad we purchased. It came to ~$12.50 with tax. I'm not sure if they're getting enough business but all their prices look like they've been scratched out and increased to possibly make up for the loss. Price points should really be ~$8 or $9. I got a kabob salad with lamb. The lamb was warmed up from a skewer and not from a rotisserie chunk of meat and was really tough. The lettuce was mostly white but I will give them credit for it being okay, but just okay. One of the side holes in my styrofoam to go container was completely filled to the rim with that Greek-style white sauce, and was way too much for either the salad or the meat with a piece of bread that came with it. In short, for cheap lettuce and a few pieces of tough and flavorless lamb for $12+ is a show breaker for me. Sorry but I will never go again.

I love this place! My husband and I live close by and I'm Afghan so I'm pretty picky with the afghan food I eat. But for a fast food type restaurant, this place is super impressive! I usually get their combo kabob (shami and chicken) and their mantoo- their mantoo is okay by my standards because I'm Afghan but pretty darn close to how home cooked mantoo tastes. Their sombosas are really good too! I'm in love with their shami and I'm never a big fan of the chicken (anywhere) so I get that for my husband. He loves it. I always get the eggplant as my side and lately it has been hit or miss. I use to love their eggplant but now it's just not as good and depending on who the person serving is, they give you less or more. But all in all- I really like this place! I would definitely recommend it.

Luscious lentils on my rice? Um, yes please! I have been here several times and it has never disappointed. The lamb and chicken kabobs are so flavorful and tender. They cook them to order, so it's nice and fresh. You get to pick a topping for your rice - I highly recommend the lentils. I don't know how they make them so good! It's a large portion which is enough for 2 meals for me. It's a little pricey, but worth the splurge. Also, they can be pretty slow so I suggest you order online before going in. Save you some time!
(4)Brandt T.
Very good food, Pleasant staff. Affordable prices went here for a quick lunch break on a tip from a coworker. I can say I was surprised at the quality and I'll be back for sure.
(4)Beba H.
Meat is very dry, but overall it is ok. It is expensive, service is outstanding, quick service. But they should re-evaluate their prices according to their food quality.
(4)Ingrid K.
So good! I ordered the A-1 boneless chicken kabob lunch special and was given a cup of soup while I waited (I need to come back for a bowl of their chicken soup when I have a cold. It's hearty and spicy. Perfect for a stuffy head and sore throat). The kabob was tender and served with season rice, flat bread, salad, and my choice of side. I picked chick peas. All very wonderful. :)
(5)Katelyn B.
Went in the other night with a girlfriend & ordered hummus with naan to start and the A-1 meal with a side of chick peas. Yes, more chick peas! :P The meal was delicious & definitely enough for a meal the next day. The hummus was creamy, I'd say pretty decent, but I would've appreciated some spices within. The naan was very doughy & plain, whereas I'm used to naan that has more air bubbles and is light, brushed with oil olive, garlic, and spices. By the next day it was rock hard. When I get naan at the international market it stays fresh for days. Lastly, when your food is ready they call your name out and it comes across like a bark. No one was really in the restaurant besides maybe one or two other diners so it wasn't loud. Would've been nice if they brought the food to you, used a numbering system, or really any other system than they have! Order the A-1 though and you won't be disappointed food-wise!

I live in NYC, but come to the Kabob House whenever we're in the DC area. The food is exceptional. Prices for each entree are slightly high, but the quality and quantity of food more than makes up for it. Then again, our family of 5 can just about finish off the Super Jumbo (A-3) for less than $20. Man, that's cheaper than eating at McD's. Be patient when you go as the food is cooked to order. The owner will give you a cup of soup while you wait. There are many kabob places, but this one in particular is a step above.
(5)Felipe H.
Excellent Service and food. Might seem a little bit of sticker shock as to the prices but after you see how much food they give you its all worth it. Lunch specials pricing is also great. We will be back!
(4)Emily C.
This place is amazing!!! The food is so incredibly good especially the buffalo chicken kabobs. The sides are all to die for especially the lentils and cauliflower! May seem a little pricey but you definitely get a lot of value!!
(5)Norry H.
I love their Kabob chicken, Afghan bread and the rice with okra! Healthy and satisfying!
(4)Roger M.
The front does not look as nice as the inside. The place is clean and the owner was amazingly friendly. The food was amazing. Excellent customer service. I really enjoyed my experience
(4)Victoria L.
My go-to spot for Kabobs in the area! It's always consistent, fresh food, the employees are nice and the service is quick. They always offer their chicken noodle soup while you wait, which is delicious. I usually get the beef and chicken skewers which are seasoned well and tender with rice and nan and you get to choose a side, I usually pick the potatoes. It's about $11 for the combo which is pretty affordable for the amount of food you'll be consuming. I pick this place over Moby Dick's in Fairfax anytime. I'm hoping to try other things here like a gyro next time because the review for it looks promising. The place itself is always clean, so I have no idea what people are talking about when they say it looks dirty. It's always clean and organized when I come. Also, this place is alot better than the one in Tysons Corner.
(4)Jenny S.
The food was good but I rated one star is for the service. The manager was rude to the customers and unprofessional to his staff. The tables were not clean. I do not recommend this restaurant, and I will not be coming back!
(1)Monica A.
Great kabobs and tandoor bread for quick in and out type of restaurant...and can't go wrong making your rice into qhabli Palau (has sautéed sweet raisins and julienne carrots on top)! Yum yum
(4)Amber S.
Definitely a family favorite. Pretty expensive but well worth it. Perfectly seasoned and the meat is clearly high quality. They give you a complimentary cup of soup while you wait!!
(5)Chris E.
My wife and I love this place. Best kabob place in there area . Food is so tasteful and employers are all very nice. Know the owner and he is an awesome person as well.
(5)Jimmy C.
This place used to be my go to Kabob joint until their food quality went down and prices went up. I think they have an issue with keeping good help or something. No worries though Kabob Express is just across the street and I'm always satisfied after eating there.
(2)Kris B.
The food was absolutely excellent. So much food came on the plate I took one look at it and said out loud there is no way I'm going to eat all this. I ate all of it. It was so good.
(5)David F.
Really good lamb here. The owner/staff are also very friendly and have us some samples of their soups. Highly recommend checking this place out.
(5)Emmir F.
The best kabob in town!!!! To-go orders are always generous (unlike other restaurants), food is always cooked to perfection (consistent unlike other restaurants), simply a great place to enjoy delicious kabobs.
(5)Robert H.
I had the kabob platter, it was great. The gyro meat was done perfect, cooked threw and crispy on the other side. Great service and lots of choices. From CA, AZ and FL this by fair has been my personal fav. Stop in you won't be sorry
(4)Tyler C.
This place makes delicious kabobs! The prices are great and the owner is friendly. The Mediterranean wrap is very good and packed with big chunks of vegetables and chicken, it's a much better alternative to Chipotle. The chopan kabob is very very good and worth the extra money. I once had an issue when I placed an online order and the owner was very nice about it and even offered me afghan soup while I waited. The soup is good, but I wish it was available when ordering online.
(4)Paul P.
I used to love this place but I think they have gone through a bunch of new managers. Food quality has gone down and price has gone up. When I went to order something I was told they don't have it because they guy who makes it isn't here and its too hard to make! Bad service, lower quality food from when they opened and higher prices. I would not recommend this place.
(2)Sam L.
All in all a decent place for someone that likes an American version of kabob. I got the fish and my friend had gotten the chicken and they both weren't that great. The only thing that was good was the salad. The fish was too fishy, even for mahi mahi and my friend told me his chicken was dry. Plus they place the protein on top of the bread which makes the bread soggy. The bread was a wheat bread and it wasn't that great. Rice didn't have much taste and the chick peas weren't that flavorful. If you go across the street, there is a better tasting kabob place. It taste much better, they give you hot bread, two or three times the rice and better protein for a few bucks less. I would say check that place out just bring the tataki from here since their tataki sauce is made of mayo.
(2)Robert Y.
The wait staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is very nice as well. The food is good. The only issue I had is that it's pricey. Then again, in DC, it seems like everything is overpriced. You can go to Chicago and get bigger portions for less money!
(4)Zac D.
Best gyro I ever ate, period. Get the Afghan Gyro. You will not be dissapointed. The lamb kabob is killer as well. The portions are huge and the taste is awesome. Highly recommended if you like gyros or kabobs.
(5)Tom M.
We agree with earlier reviews. This place isnot as good as it is at the other locations. The place was empty around dinner time (6 pm) and we think the food just sit arond the hot food table too long. The food was not fresh. The place was dirty. We could find a clean table or clean chair and the floor was littered with food scraps. We just don't think they clean the place right. We will probably look for another Kabob place aroudn Centreville.
(2)Stuart A.
The other night, my wife brought dinner home from The Kabob House. When she texted "kabobs", my first thought was "Kabobs? They'll probably be dry ... oh well..." I was sooo wrong! The gyro meat, with Afghani bread was moist, delicious and enough for two meals. The tzatziki and cilantro sauces were great, as was the rice with curried meat sauce. My wife's grilled chicken was flavorfully spiced, moist and abundant. The pieces of Afghani bread were huge! A great meal and we'll be going back.
(5)Anna M.
Wasn't sure if I should give 3 or 4 stars but opted for 4 bc of service. Fiance and I ordered the super jumbo kabob and split it. For anyone who can finish that whole thing on their own: when u jump on a scale stop wondering why it spikes up so high... it comes with so so much food. We ordered naan which doesn't come with the meal, which I thought was kinda strange. The guy at the counter threw in a thing of chick peas for free which was very nice. Overall the food was excellent. I loved the meat. And the lamb stew that came with it (sorry I can't remember the name) was amazing. The naan was a prefect blend of crispy and chewy. The only thing I didnt like was the rice. Something was really off about it. The white rice had a really rubbery consistancy and tasted horrible. It almost tasted mildewy like something was funky with the water it was cooked in or something. I thought the other rice would be better but it also had that kinda funky mildewy flavor. I'm hoping someone there reads this and fixes the problem bc I def. Liked everything else there.
(4)Alecto A.
The last time I visited the Kabob House was earlier this year and I can describe it as a cafeteria-style venue with generous portions. Sometimes the tables are sticky, sometimes the meat can have a bit of gristle and can be on the dry side, sometimes there are flies but honestly this place is decent. I judge most kabob places by their lamb and it's pretty good here. The rice is tasty as well as the naan and the other sides. Is it as close to authentic as you would get in the middle east/surrounding areas? I hesitate to say no, but only because very few restaurants with a quick turn-around are capable of replicating true taste in such a short time period. However, the food here is filling and satisfying and if you know a little Arabic don't be afraid to say hello.
(3)Eddie K.
Best kabob spot in Fairfax county! I highly recommend the chicken kabob platter and gyro. If you do get a gyro, make sure you ask for the authentic pita. If you don't, they will give u generic pita which I'm not a fan of.
(5)Christian B.
"Some of the best Afghani food in the area....located in some sort of strip mall dirty shack decorated with 1980's posters" Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5(counter service) Atmosphere: 1/5 Parking: 5/5 Cleanliness: 2/5 I do not lie - the food here is amazing - outright some of the best kabobs and Afghani food in Northern Virginia, even better than kabob palace in Crystal City (Arlington). The lunch specials are fairly priced though many of the other menu items seem a tad pricy. This may A.) Be because the ingredients they use are high quality and that's why the food's great, or B.) The food may just be over priced. Tough call, but either way I'll pay to be wowed with kebabs like that. On to the rest: The interior is laughably bad - I mean, just takes stereotypes to new levels with it's tacky 1980's motivational poster print outs, sports bar TV's, cafeteria tables, random maps of Afghanistan, Styrofoam plates and silverware, plastic plants, public school-style cafeteria trays, etc. etc. etc. It's just.....yikes.. hire an interior decorator or anyone for that matter to fix up what looks like an episode of Rosanne gone bad. Parking is easily accessible with a private lot servicing the entire strip mall and the entrance is clearly marked to any yelper who wishes to try what is some of the best kebab around, enjoy!
(4)Jason P.
This restaurant has no respect or appreciation for its best customers. They will nickel and dime you for everything. The owner is a low class piece of $&@#!
(1)Simon T.
Great food. Freshly cooked kebobs. The mini cup of chicken soup on the house was a nice touch and really tasty.
(5)PK Z.
Read the other reviews and was not sure about going here, but I thought I'd give it a chance anyway... so... Chatni sauce is good: flavor (5/5) and spiciness (4/5). Cleanliness: 2/5, chicken kabob: 4/5 for well seasoned and not salty. Sides and accompaniment food (rice and salad):4/5, and soup appetizer: 2/5 for being too salty.
(4)Emily B.
Best kabob in town. Owner is super friendly and remembers regulars, always friendly and serve you their house chicken soup while you wait if you're doing take out. Chicken kabob is always to go-to, however the salmon was delicious as well. Cauliflower, spinach, chic peas, and potatoes as sides are heaven!
(5)Joe R.
I used to come here every so often about a year or two ago, and I remember it being pretty good. I decided to stop by after work in early in September (9/13) and again later the same month. The food is good, nothing too special - there are other kabob places that make just as good food, (though not many in this immediate area). But... I really do not like writing negative reviews, however I really had to commit about how dirty it is here. Both times I went by there recently the dining area was so gross: sticky tables, grimy floors, really bad decor. I ordered food and just got water, the water is in a sports water cooler which I don't really have a problem with, but the spout was so dirty that I decided against water for that meal. I do not want to imagine how the food storage/prep area looks like (luckily you can see where they cook the food). I think the real kicker was while I was waiting on my food and eating a staff member just sat a table down and watched a football game, for about 40 mins; instead of cleaning anything. Food 4.5/5 Staff: 4/5 Decor: 1/5 Cleanliness: 0/5 Hope they pull it together, this area would really benefit from a good kabob place.
(2)Caitlyn l.
I love the chicken kabob but i tried the lamb and it was just too tough it was hard to eat. Also next time ask for the spicy chicken sauce on rice instead of chickpeas. Fabulous nan and get the green sauce!
(4)Evy Q.
Food is fresh and very tasty! I got a free small Afghan soup while I waited. (which is also amazing.) All kabobs and sides are delicious. The Chatni (green sauce) is a perfect blend of spicyness and flavor. Staff is very friendly and remembers regulars. I wouldn't go anywhere else for kabobs!
(5)Charles A.
Wife and I have been going to the food corner kabob houses for over 12 years now and still love them. The chicken kabob with Greek salad, saffron rice, and naan is our go-to. The green sauce is always fresh and can be adjusted to your particular spice tolerance. Meals are very filling. Staff is always friendly. You'll likely wait 5-10 minutes for your food; however, the fresh prep no taste is worth it. The soup is also fantastic.
(5)Jane R.
I would give this place a better rating if the food wasn't so salty. I think it's a little too pricey for what you get. However, the service is good. All I ask is that you reduce the salt!
(3)Kelly K.
The lamb kabob sandwich is yummy. The chicken kabob sandwich is decent. The atmosphere of the place leaves much to desired.
(4)Karisa D.
Mmmm Kabob House. Ohh how you know how to work your magic on the grill! The meat comes out tender and full of flavor. The meat is made to order; trust me, it's worth the wait. The owner is very friendly and seems genuinely interested in getting to know his customers. If you're lucky, the staff will offer you some of their homemade Chicken Soup to eat while you wait. The soup is tasty too; nice and spicy. I recommend getting one of the platter combos that they offer. It comes with rice, salad, bread, and your choice of side, in addition to your choice of me. I am a fan of the lamb platter. It's my go to platter when I eat at Kabob House!
(4)Sonya A.
Amazing customer service with even more amazing food! I'm afghan I would know. Very reasonably priced. I got the super jumbo kabob plate, had a little bit everything on it.
(5)Leslie S.
I was craving a gyro and I looked up on Yelp where the best gyro was in Centreville. This place got the most votes so off we went. Its not the nicest place, but the customer service was great. They took our order quickly and offered us a sample of their soup. It was very good! The gyros are HUGE! My only complaint is they were full of veggies. I really like my gryos more greek style, but not a big deal. I just shoved some of them out onto my plate. I would probably go back here for another one and maybe to try something else new!
(4)Theo P.
Carry out Review: Came here for take out and had a great experience. The manager hooked it up with an extra side of curry and some extra tztaziki (Greek yogurt sauce). The foo was prepared fresh and the restaurant looked clean. They have a wide variety of Afghan dishes. I had the KABOB combo. 1 chicken 1 beef. It was delish. Rice was good and came with a salad. My local Kabob place. I wonder if they decide to stay open late for those nights after the club..
(5)Yan W.
Sorry to disagree with my fellow yelpers, but Kabob House didn't live up to the hype. It was just average for me. I thought the meat needed more spices. Maybe I was there on an off day, but my Kabobs just didn't pack enough punch for me. The chickpeas were good.
(3)Nathan B.
My wife and I dined at the Food Corner Kabob House on recommendation from one of her coworkers. The place is easy to find and easily seen off of Route 29 in Centreville. When we entered at around 12 pm on a Saturday there were two other tables with diners at them. The restaurant is bright, clean, and nicely decorated with pictures of the middle east. My wife was having trouble deciding what she wanted so the person behind the counter offered a sample of the chicken soup. It was very tasty. I settled on the Kabob Combo with beef and chicken and a side of Sabzi (spinach). My wife ordered the Beef Kabob with a side of Korma Kachaloo (potatoes). One thing that I dislike about small family run businesses is the absence of fountain drink dispensers. I like to drink a lot of liquid with my meals and one can of Diet Coke or a bottle of juice is not enough for me. I like to get free refills. I understand that fountain dispensers are expensive so I do not take away stars because of this but it is something that I would like to know before going to a restaurant. When the food came I was surprised at how much food came on the plate. They are large. I dislike that they placed the meat on top of the naan because it makes it wet and soggy. The naan that was not soggy was great and I love dipping it in the included green sauce. The basmati rice is flavorful and the salad was more than just lettuce. I would prefer to have my dressing on the side but the vinaigrette type dressing already on the salad was tasty. The chicken from my kabob combo was way overcooked. There was hardly any moisture inside. The beef from my combo was tough, full of gristle. I thought maybe it was just the meat that was on my plate but my poor wife got two skewers of beef and hers was just the same as mine. The beef was way overcooked also. I am not sure how the beef and chicken could make the bread soggy because there was hardly any moisture left in either one. The sabzi was wonderful. Very creamy and flavorful. My wife enjoyed the korma kachaloo and the rice and salad that came on her plate as well. The person at the counter claimed that the baklava was fresh and homemade. My wife ordered a piece to go. We both ate it later on that evening and both thought that it was probably true that it was freshly homemade. Perfect amount of honey and pistachios and the filo dough was still crispy. For both of our plates, the drinks, and baklava, we got out of there for around $25. I will NOT be returning to the Food Corner Kabob House because the main course on the plate, the meat, was barely worth chewing through and choking down the dryness. The soup, sides, bread and the dessert make the meal but they are not enough to make me go back.

ORDERED: Two kabob entrees and two large sides. The food is not as good here as it is at the Springfield location. Yes, it is still delicious on the whole and you get a good amount of food but the quality is definitely lacking. The dine in area was almost empty when we picked up our to-go order so that was probably a sign that the food tends to sit around longer here at this location. MAJOR GRIPES with 2 PICS : Even though it had a generous amount of sumac dusted on top, I was shocked to discover that the boneless chicken kabobs at this location - as another other reviewer posted - were actually not as tasty and yes, on the dry side. And the marinade, yes, it is bland. I have had this entrée of choice many times before at Springfield and expected a plump, juicy melt-in-your-kabob with a slightly lemony marinade that I can reheat the next day and still chew into with ease, but nope. This was different and subpar. But the main issue with quality is that my sweeetheart had two undercooked pieces of boneless chicken kabob in his carton. Eagerly eating his way through his meal like a happy camper, the poor guy unexpectedly hit a road block when he bit into a 'crunch' when trying out a kabob piece. HAHA! Poor guy. I really shouldn't laugh. After pulling a part the chicken piece, we discovered that the meat fibers inside were still a solid mass. He found two like that in his carton. Gross! Also, both our salads did not taste as fresh and appeared weathered down a bit. The medley of greens here were basic here at this location (no cherry tomatoes and I don't remember if there were any green bell peppers) and roughly chopped ( vs. finely) and that's okay *BUT* I actually had brown lettuce in my portion which I never ever got at previous locations. Everyone knows that the salad at FC is a special treat and the homemade dressing is so delicious so I was pretty bummed out that I couldn't touch the salad MINOR ISSUES: The chickpeas here were definitely not as fresh as my favorite Springfield location and were brown (vs. reddish orange) and muddy and thick (vs. vibrant saucy) and the taste was not anywhere near as delicious, but it was eatable and better then what I could make at home. Not going to order it again though as a large side! And the bread was not as evenly cooked and got hard rather quickly, too. I hate when that happens. Oh! And they dump the small one topping side on top of your rice here which not only makes the rice soggy but forces you to eat it together, mixed up. At the Springfield location, whether you inside or take it to-go, they usually put it in a seperately tiny foam bowl container. I like that much better. THAT IS ALL! Will we still come here? I think so. If it's during rush hour and during the weekday and time is an issue, we probably will try it again just because it's closer and I absolutely love Afghan food and it's the best near by. Or I may wait for the weekend when it's less traffic and head down to the Springfield location where it's smiles all around. Either way, they still get my money.

This place is so dirty I can't even deal.

Have been coming here since this place opened and still loving it. The owner is always there and they always offer a free small portion of their chicken soup which is pretty tasty. Have been on a gyro kick lately and their gyro sandwich for $6.40 is a great deal. You have to double fist the sandwich to be able to eat it and it weighs at least 3 pounds. Have had a couple of issues with their kabobs being overcooked. However, their customer service is great and they are always willing to do what makes you happy.
(4)Lesley L.
Visited here with my three girls (9, 8 and 5) on a spontaneous stop on our way home. Everyone was very hungry and thirsty! The shop owner greeted us immediately and made some suggestions. He was very friendly and immediately gave the girls each a small bowl of their chicken and veggie soup to hold them over. Everything is made while you wait which makes the wait pretty long. The food is worth the wait, for sure! The girls got the chicken kids combo which came with salad, rice, chicken and naan. They loved it all. The salad comes with the dressing already on it so if your kids are picky about salad, you should ask for the dressing on the side. I had nearly the same thing as the girls but with the curry topping for the rice. The curry topping is spicy and delicious! The restaurant is clean and all the supplies you need are within reach (plastic ware, extra plates, napkins, etc). The only negative I can see is that I wish they had a drink fountain rather than cans of soda. Enjoy!

Tried this place for the first time. Customer service is great. They give you this small sample of soup if you have to wait for carry out. But I ordered the chicken kabob with rice for dinner. Chicken was dry so I didn't really enjoy it. I definitely prefer Moby Dick's in Fairfax instead.

While waiting for my gyros, the guy working the front asked if I wanted a free sample of their soup. It was pretty good! I don't see many places giving out free samples of soups/food while you wait for their food. The gyros were delicious and good. I usually hate lamb stuff, but for some reason the lamb in gyros aren't gamey and are flavorful.

This is our favorite in the DC area. There are lots of great kebab places, but I've been going to Najib's restaurants since it was just one place in Annandale, over ten years ago (wow). They chicken is always the best, very tender and seasoned well. I like their lamb, but over the years goes through spells of less quality (the meat vendors fault really). The best part though? The super sauce, the bread, and the sides. The chick peas are out of this world, but the lamb and potato sides are awesome too. Love the shami kebabs - basically like Kubideh in Persian food (ground meat with spices, etc). The super sauce - green yogurt - is amazing. If you want anything kicked up, use the other darker green hot sauce. Bottom line, the most consistently awesome kebab we had.

We came here and ordered chicken kabob platter which came with a side of chicken curry, rice and nan and beef kabob/lamb curry combo which was enough to feed my whole family. (My wife, 7 & 5 year old sons, and I) After we ordered, the gentleman working the counter gave us 4 free cups of soup which were delicious. The chicken kabob, the chicken curry and the lamb curry were very good. The chicken wasn't too dry but the beef curry was overcooked. It was very tough and dry. I do love their green sauce that came with the meals. Overall, I think it is a pretty good place for kabobs. I think I will try a few other places before I come back to this one.

I used to have to drive to Annandale to go to the original Food Corner, now that they are in Centreville I can have their delicious Kabobs more often. Also, I love that you get soup while you wait for your order.

Overpriced, Dry, and Bland. Avoid. I love trying new kabob restaurants and I have been to many in the area. Unfortunately, my experience at Kabob House in Centreville was the worst yet. Our order for lamb with rice, and chicken kabobs was taken by the kitchen staff, who seemed more interested in joking around with each other than taking the order or cooking the food. The restaurant was open to the kitchen, so we were able to watch the staff goofing around while reluctantly and inattentively cooking our food. Our food was taking so long my wife ordered a side order of Chickpeas... $5! They were flavorless and served in a bland sauce that appeared to be tomato based. When the food was finally ready, I was served a Shami Kabob instead of the requested lamb, which is a patty of ground beef with spices cooked on a skewer. I was hungry enough and not willing to wait for them to cook the right order, so I accepted it. Big mistake. It was completely bland and so dried out it was not worth eating. The bread was also very dry and flavorless. The only redeeming item on this visit was the chicken kabob, which was juicy and flavorful, well cooked, and the rice which was tasty and nicely seasoned. It was not remotely worth $25 for dry, flavorless food prepared by careless, rude staff, and I will not be back. The chicken and rice saves this place from getting one star, but there are too many other kabob places with excellent food for cheaper, and better service.

I lived in Afghanistan in 2008 and I became addicted to the food. I am now addicted to this place. The first bite instantly took my mind back to that transformative year -- kicking off a torrent of memories. As I ate the meal I found myself reverting back to my Afghan eating habits -- i.e. eating without utensils and only using my right hand. I felt myself yearning for the country, its people, its food, and my close Afghan friends. By the end of the meal I was planning countless return trips -- the ultimate sign of great food. This place will be a staple fixture for me and my family for years to come. The food is AMAZING. I had the chicken kabob platter. The chicken was moist, extremely flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I'd even say it was some of the best chicken I've ever had. The spices and flavoring made it masterful. The rice was perfectly done in the Afghan style and they even added some Quabuli on top of mine for no extra charge. For those uninitiated, Quabuli is a sweet mixture of pressure cooked carrots and raisins -- it is the essential addition to Afghan rice. You HAVE to have it with yours or its not truly an Afghan meal. The nan was ok -- but I've come to accept that I'll only get Afghan nan in Afghanistan (as cooking it requires the in ground furnaces used in country). The staff were extremely friendly and quick to offer free samples of their Afghan fare. They also were all Afghan -- another sign that you're eating at the right place. They take pride in their work and it shows in the quality and taste of the meal.

Don't be fooled by the nice interior, this ain't a mass marketed Afghan kabob joint like Panda Express is doing to Chinese, this place is authentic I got the combo chicken and beef kabob with the chicken curry. I'm usually not the curry person but whatever they do to it, man what a crucial flavor. Piping hot bread served with the combo with rice and salad. Overall a great meal and highly recommended.

Astoundingly good; better even than the legendary Bamyan Afghan place of Herndon a decade ago. You must try the Mantoo or Aushak if you have a little more time (they take longer as they need to be baked to order). If you have less time, stick to the kabobs, gyros, or my favorite dishes at this amazing gem of a restaurant: Quabili Palau (warning, it's large) Palau Kabob (lots of food) In both cases, the "meat sauce" they casually mention on the menu is the best damned curried lamb I have ever had anywhere. It's probably hardening my arteries as I eat it, because anything this good must be earning me time in hell... absolute heaven. I am afraid to try to order just the "meat sauce" as a main dish... that would probably upset the balance of the universe with too much delicious goodness on one plate. The Mantoo are sublime and the Aushak delicious - though both take a little longer to prepare. This is not a fancy place; you walk up to the counter and order, and they will call your number when it's ready. No table service (though sometimes they come out and bring you your tray if they are not busy). There is not much choice about what to drink, but the food is devine and the behind the counter staff are enthusiastic and friendly. If you are anywhere near Centreville and hungry you must make this your first stop for food. Absolutely the best Centreville has to offer by far. This is perhaps THE place that finally puts food in Centreville on the map. Quiet enough for real conversations. Clean. Well lit. Kid friendly. Spectacularly delicious. If I had to be pressed, I think the kabobs themselves are better at Charcoal Kabob in Herndon; but everything else is better here at Food Corner Kabob House IV... Mantoo, Aushak, Gyros, Quabili Palau - amazing... I have never been to the other locations mentioned on the menu.

This used to be my go to place, not anymore.... The taste and quality of food has diminished. Last couple of times they served dried out pieces of chicken and choban kabob barely had any meat on two lamb chops they gave... The chicken pieces were also extremely tiny sizes and completely dried out... Yuck!!! Not sure if they were low on meat on both times I went but I'm not going there again. Plenty of more good options out there. They need to get their act together. Maybe management changed???

Kabob Express is better and just up the street. I admit I've only tried the gyro platter but Kabob Express is cheaper and better on it . Was nice we go to sample the soup they had why we waited.

This is the 4th location for food corner. They also have locations in Vienna, Annandale and Springfield. This is also the 3rd Kabob option in Centreville. I have reviews on the others. It is where Pancheros used to be. This is a carryout place with plenty of sit down space both tables, booths and stools. They serve good authentic Afghan Style Kabobs. (Afghan style has more gravy and sauce options than persian/lebaneese style and is a tad spicier) They have a good menu selection sandwiches, platters and sides. They make the food in front of you and their side dishes are in full display. The portions are adequate and they have good sauces and their meats are well seasoned and of good quality. Their service is good as to be expected of a new place. The only thing their menu was missing was felafal though they do have friend eggplant which is similar. They do have a couple vegetarian options for entrees and sides. They also have 2 Combination options. Make sure to get extra green sauce as one isn't really enough. Overall I would consider this a well above average kabob place for the area and the best option in the Centreville Area. Their food is clean and not greasy but still tasty and flavorful. They are good but not spectacular. I will definitely be eating from here.

you can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting a good kabob place. This is yet another one. Things I like about this place: "The Soup" nice guys at the counter spacious Tropical Smoothie Cafe is next door, a convenient excuse for a Blimey Limey

This place is usually pretty good and the people are really nice. Today, rice seemed stale. Which sucks when your plate is mostly rice.

Outside of Afghan Kabob Restaurant in Springfield, this is probably one of the best options for good authentic Afghan food in the Centreville/West Fairfax area. I've been to quite a few places with similar names and similar foods, but this place is just a notch above the rest. For one, it's in a good corner location that is easy to get to with plenty of parking. Once inside you are greeted with plenty of seating areas, a fresh inviting decor and of course the requisite Afghan artwork scattered throughout. Immediately as I arrived with my gf, the manager/owner greeted us and was quick to take our orders and supply us with that fresh made bread and yogurt sauce. He was very courteous and quickly put in our order even though we were like one of two people there that evening. The food was not GREAT, but it was very good and best of all there was a LOT of it, so you definitely get your money's worth. I ended up making 2 meals out of it. Their chicken kabob was juicy and flavorful as was their ground beef/lamb kabob, the rice was just moist enough and the sides complemented the meal well. Overall, I will come back for my bi-weekly Afghan fix and maybe I'll finally figure out why there is a framed glamor shot of the guy that took my order right next to the cash register... maybe he was some famous actor in his hometown?...who knows but the food was good dammit.

My co-worker recently introduced me to Food Corner Kabob House. Just as he described, the food is delicious! I ordered the chicken kabob platter and also tasted the lamb kabobs. The meat is tender and well seasoned. The carrot and raisin mixture on the rice is awesome (ad different). The guy behind the counter gives free tastings of their soup. And there is free hot clove tea to drink -- washing a platter down with tea makes the meal. Definitely a new go-to for me.

It was so nice to know that the family spread their chains otu to Centreville... I used to go to springfield to enjoy their food, but no longer need to. Its good food, at a good price.

Lamb kabobs! Absolutely delicious and tender, and their sides are incredible. I'm always torn between the chick peas and lentils. I've tried their gyro, too, which has it's own Afghani flare. Their service is wonderful, they've got the nicest group of guys working behind the counter; if you have a wait longer than 5/10 minutes, they'll usually offer a free sample of soup! The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because of the inconsistency in the temperature of the meat. I've had a couple of occasions where the meat has been cooked a little bit too well for my taste. Kabob House is still the best kabobs available in the area.

The place was nice and up to date with plenty of seating and TV, but the food was adequate at best. I ordered the Palau with spinach and ckickpeas, and my wife had chicken and beef kabobs. Both seemed a bit bland, especially for Afghan style, and the naan was overcooked (too hard and crispy), not the normally soft, chewy with a slight crisp that I get at other places. Also, I've been to the Annandale location a few times and the portions there seem to be bigger. They did provide complimentary soup, which was a nice thought. Not bad but nothing great in my opinion (at least on this first visit).

This place has the best kabobs in the area. I have had kabobs at Moby Dick and several other establishments and I must say that the kabobs here are the tastiest. The management and staff are also extremely friendly and accommodating. My husband ordered a lunch entree at dinner time one evening without realizing that it was no longer available. The cashier was about to explain to my husband that the entree was not available at that time when the manager jumped in and told the cashier that if my husband wanted the lunch entree at dinner time then he could have it. Their nan bread, chick peas, fried spinach and fried eggplant are also amazing. Their hummus is good, but I have had better. Kabob House IV has become one of our new favorite places to eat.

Ordered a kabob platter and one appetizer and the kabob was dry and salty. Had expectations of long skewers of meat and insread received smaller ones. Price matches value and not anticiapting going back soon.

Great food! I'm a big fan on the original Food Corner in Annandale, and this place is as good!!!

I moved across the street from this place - healthly Homestyle food, made fresh.. Im not an afghan food expert, but I am an expert on good food since im single and eat out everyday :) Love it!

the bf and i tried this place finally, for the first time last week. i can't say i'm a kabob connoisseur, but damn, this place has really delicious kabobs! we came in to just order some takeout, and the guy at the register was super friendly, super helpful, but not pushy. he gave us a sample of the chicken & veggie soup and it was delicious. i ordered lamb kabobs w/a side of eggplant. the bf got the beef kabobs. i was very pleasantly surprised at how moist and flavorful the meat was. it's a huge platter, yes, like most kabob places seem to be, but it was all well worth me stuffing my face w/all of it. the bread is probably one of the best i've ever had. i even had some leftover to eat the next day, and it was still soft enough to eat! can i just say that the eggplant was SO FREAKIN GOOD?? i'd go back there to order that alone! i'll definitely be going back for more!
(5)Beeson C.
Their lamb chop kabob is delicious. I usually get the chopan combo off the internet order (consists of salad, rice, one side, and of course the lamb) I suggest getting the chickpeas as the side order, as it tastes great when mixed with the seasoned rice. The lamb chops (chopan combo) are amazing. Melts right off the bone and not too try. The owner is very generous and hospitable. By my second visit, he included 2 sauces instead of just one. For a kabob cuisine around Centreville area, I def give it 5 stars. I recommend it to anyone who is willing to try out different styles of kabobs.

This used to be a Mexican place and they never changed the deccor but hell the food is much better now anyways. Real Afghan Kabobs made by actual Mexicans. I'm a fan.

After reading several other reviews of this restaurant on Yelp, I decided to stop in and give them a go. The restaurant is bright, colorful, and inviting. Above the cook area is the food menu. My eyes scanned the offerings and I selected the A-3 Super Jumbo platter, a slice of Baklava, and a Coke out of their soda fridge...then paid for it all and grabbed a booth to sit in. There were 4 other customers in the store eating at the time of this review but at least 9 more walked in by the time I finished. I thought my meal was very good, a little disappointed that Nan bread does not come with this platter...it has to be purchased separately. The Baklava was sweet and flaky but it was dry and the bottom crust was overcooked (hard). My bill came up to $21.21...which is pretty expensive by my standards for what I had. Turn offs: canned soda instead of fountain style drinks, Nan bread extra for the A-3 platter (should have been included), cost on the high side.

I love afghan kabobs, but not this place. Tried it twice and was not impressed. The chicken was try and chewy. And although I love the spices on the kabobs at any afghan place they went overboard to the point of the chicken staining my fingers. Their bread was thin and dry and the small salad was soaked in dressing to the point of making it mush. The thing that really gets me about this place is the price. They give you less than half the rice other places do, they give you a "topping" not a side of veggies, and they charge for every additional side of sauce you want. With other kabob places I get twice as much food for $3-$4 less than this place and it tastes better. And after spending the money on the extra white sauce, it tasted like Greek tzatziki sauce instead of the traditional white sauce at other places. They have no fountain drinks and although the owner seems friendly he is more concerned with the money aspect than the customers, I find him overbearing, pushy and loud. I will not be returning here, I will stick to Kabob Express in the back of the same shopping center and my favorite Grill Kabob Express down 29 in Fairfax.

After eating at this place and being a fan of gyro, I had to write a review. I ordered the Afgan Style Gyro which was one of the best I had for a long time. The naan bread was delicious alone and the lamb meat just makes it superb. The side dish of salad was fresh and crisp. The rice w/ curry chicken should have been a dish by itself, it deserves a center stage! My only compliant was the tzatziki sauce which seem a bit too thick.
(4)H B.
Great tasting Kabob's! Lots of choices! Friendly Staff!
(4)Mike M.
I got the kabob combo platter - lamb and shami and a side of cholle. I have to say, this place is a very resounding "meh", especially for the money. I could have gone to Kabob Express II or Charcoal Kabob (the latter in Herndon) and had ten times better food for less money. I know the family that owns this place... I would like to give them a better review but I just can't. The lamb was dry to the point of being like compressed sawdust and the cholle was as tasteless as kindergarten paste. Don't waste your time or money.
