This was our first time to this traditional Virginia dinner house restaurant. It was everything one could want in a "local" restaurant. The severs were quick, but friendly. Our table had a filet, scallops and shrimp and crab cake cakes. Everything was wonderful. The portions were just right and the prices were reasonable. While the chains such as Fridays and Chilis are fine, but predicable, there is nothing like a traditional diner house in Virginia and Maryland. I should mention that the marina attached to the restaurant is extremely reasonable and very friendly. Just for the record, we don't know any one at the restaurant or marina. We just stumbled on to the place and glad that we did. We should mention that when we tied up at the pier, we met Lee Robins. He is a third generation Menhaden fisherman and his wife is the head cook at the restaurant. OK, that didn't get us special benefits at the restaurant, except for a free order of crab balls. Any way, we're fans of the restaurant. Take the time to detour from where ever you are going and add some time for this marvolous part of old Virginia.

Found this restaurant on Yelp and was adamant about trying it out. We were staying in Reedsville and drove about 25 mins out just to see what everyone was raving about. Everyone at the front was smiling and in good spirits. We were immediately seated (the place was pretty empty anyways). I think our server's name was Delores and she was great! She was very friendly and lively. She knew the menu inside out and started pointing out some of her favorites and raving about how good their food was. She wasn't pushy or anything. We went along with her suggestions and tried the seafood platter-broiled and the 18 oz steak. It was getting late by the time we ordered so we asked her to make sure the steak would have enough time to cook. Luckily they were able to accommodate us and our order was put right in. The plates were massive with so much food which half of was taken home. Everything was so fresh and delicious. It isn't the food that I'm giving 5 stars to it's Delores. Even though the food does deserve it! You could tell that she enjoyed being at the restaurant. She was very pleasant and bubbly and very prompt with her service.

Perfect balance between local charm and a smooth professional restaurant operation. Courses arrived like clockwork and each was exceptional. Perfectly mixed beverage, crisp salad, real butter and fresh crackers, perfect seafood and sinful dessert . Real food, real patrons...Nothing better anywhere at any price.

The prices were good but the portions were way too big!!! I never thought I would hear myself say that but we sent most of our food away because it was simply too much. We made the mistake of ordering appetizers though the oysters were nice and the crab balls were delicious. My ribeye steak was very tasty but humongous. I ate about a third of it. My boyfriend also ate about half of his stuffed flounder although very good. We went back the second night because there is nothing in Reedville to speak of and we stuck with salads which were also huge. All together the staff was nice and the service was good. The ambiance was very nice while eating on the deck by the marina.

Right on the Great Wicomico River and fun to boat to for a great meal. The restaurant is only open Thursday-Sunday. I have eaten there several times, the latest last week. While I have always enjoyed the reasonably priced seafood, this last time I had the most incredible mouth watering scallops (fried) that I have ever had. I usually avoid scallops in a restaurant - too many bad experiences - but we had a mixed seafood appetizer fortunately before I ordered and all I can say is WOW! The wait staff have been there forever and even remember you when you have not been there in several years. Worth a trip if you are enjoying a trip to the Middle Peninsula!

We love this place. We have been a couple of times and never had a bad meal. My wife had the fried shrimp that were tender and moist. I had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection. The view of the water is calming. This is a hidden gem. Always check the specials as the are usually incredible. One of the orders we had was for prime rib and the piece was huge. Bring an appetite, but don't worry about big city prices. This place defines value. Enjoy.

Unexceptional fried food for the most part. They stopped trying several years ago. They do a decent seasonal business because of lack of much competition, not because of quality of food or service.
