Holy YUM!!! Fast, FRESH, and oh so DELISH! I got samurai chicken medium spice, fried rice, a spicy tuna roll, and a spicy salmon roll. They even gave me a free order of spring rolls!! EVERYTHING was sooo good. I seriously can't say that enough! Do yourself a fave and EAT HERE!!!!!

This is a tough review to write. Kapao used to be AMAZING. The best Asian delivery I've ever had. Fresh, delicious meat, crisp dumplings, exciting flavors. I loved it and ate there all the time. It went downhill quickly. I have no idea what happened. Suddenly the dumplings had meat in them that were the consistency of rubber and had no flavor. The rice and curry dishes were bland, and the chicken meat in the other dishes was grey-looking and nasty. I am so disappointed. I don't know how something could be so incredible and then become so awful. I tried it a few more times, hoping it was a fluke, but it got worse and worse with each meal. My other friends that eat there have noticed the same downhill trend. They are just like any other bad, cheap Asian place. I don't recommend this place at all, and am hoping someone new will come around to take their place.

Nothing special, but definitely good. The orange chicken could've used a bit more spice, but it did have actual orange in it and tasted great. A bit disappointing that broccoli is the only veggie option. They do offer brown rice, which is a nice touch. The restaurant is clean and seems newer, but it was dead quiet and empty inside on a Friday night. Weird.

Caution, spice level 1 is probably all you need, anything more can be a burner! Ate lunch here with 4 coworkers and all of us got 2 and higher. We all regretted getting anything more than a 1. Not sure if this is typical since this was our first visit. The food flavor was fine overall, seemed fresh, and was what you would expect from a Chinese fast food restaurant, ala Panda Express, except a bit pricier.

HOLY CRAP DON'T EAT HERE EVER! I ate here once when they first opened. I decided to give it another try today for lunch since I was going to be in the area. OMG was this a mistake! I went to the restaurant around 11:30am 9/9/2015. I ordered their General Kapao Chicken, lunch special. The food was ok, not great. I expected the chicken to be a bit more crispy than it was, considering I was the only customer and I was eating in the restaurant. Regardless, this review has nothing to do with the food. After finishing my food, I still had 3/4 of my Diet Coke left in my cup. I decided to chug it before leaving. I got down to the last centimeter of Coke, only to realize that it felt a little bit chunkier going down my throat than I would expect. I looked in the glass and saw many little chunks. At first I thought that they were just bits of food or something, but I was drinking with a straw, so I don't know how they would have gotten in there. Closer inspection revealed that they were tiny little bugs. Some dead, some swimming. OH MY GOD, I SERIOUSLY JUST CHUGGED A GLASS OF BUGS! I'm not talking about A bug that happened to fly into my drink. I am talking about a swarm of little baby cockroaches IN MY DRINK! This was like something straight out of Fear Factor. I started to panic. I started to shake. I did not know what to do. I started taking pictures, but could not even hold the camera still. I came really close to barfing all over the place, but tried to focus on pretending that this did not just happen. After gaining my composure somewhat, I showed the restaurant staff. They tried to tell me it must have just been in my cup, but I then pointed out that one of the metal trays near the drink dispenser was teaming with little bugs. They were everywhere. All over the drink machine and surrounding area! I was able to get my money back, and then frantically called the health department. The pictures that I sent to the health department are attached.

Awesome staff and awesome food! I love spicy food so I always order level 5 spice and end up having my tears mixed with food! I eat here every other week.

Our third visit to kapow. Previously we said the food was good but not a good value. This time we had a groupon and the food was still tiny portions and mixed quality and taste. The lights were mostly off in the back which was strange - perhaps to save money? Anyway the steak stir fry was great, the Asian tacos mediocre, the general Tso chicken good. We'd go back with another groupon but otherwise still not a good value. Just not very much food for the money and we are not big eaters.

Food was good, dumplings half fried, main course good.. service was bad, had to remind my beer multiple times. Also had to order napkin and serving spoon multiple times. Never asked how food was. Overall would never go to eat but would probably do carry out. I had 3 star before buy gave it 1.. the server turned out to be manager and was very rude when we told him service was bad.. he said tgi friday u have to wait in line.. wow didn't expect a Manager to be so rude and not apologize.. never going back.

Literally worst fried rice I've ever had. And the sushi was very sub par. My dogs will enjoy their dinner tonight.

Ruined by new management. This Place used to be the best asian in the area, with fresh ingredients, inspired takes on basic dishes and really spicy food made with quality hot peppers. Now it's like every other asian place in the area, and I no longer have any desire to go, the meat seems to have taken the biggest hit in quality as it is nowhere as good as it used to be. The fried rice is awful now, cafeteria quality. The veggies still seem ok, not as fresh but not terrible, however they are lacking in variety now and lots of filler like water chestnuts. The broccoli appears to have been frozen. Sauce is watery and flavorless (I miss the sauceless dishes that got the flavor only from the ingredients) My biggest problem personally is that the peppers dissapeared, no longer can I get fresh, spicy chinese made with a variety of hot peppers. . I might give a "menu favorite" a try to see if its still good, but I do not hold out much hope. I used to LOVE going to kapao, now I don't think I will be going again.

New management has ruined Kapao. Kapao used to be a great place for fresh, delicious and INSPIRED dishes. I've been eating there since they opened and it's been sad watching it's slow decline...oh how the mighty have fallen... My Wife and I visited tonight expecting (not knowing about the management change) the same great quality food and delicious menu items. Instead we were served with food that's just like every other Chinese restaurant in the area...even the menu's now look that way. The beef is now stringy, bland and generally unappetizing. The ingredients in the fried rice have become your run of the mill Chinese restaurant fried rice ingredients...the list goes on... To sum it all up...it seems to me that Kapao has lost it's identity and is on the road to being just another routine Chinese restaurant. The staff still remains great and I wish them the best. Hopefully the new management can get things straighted out soon... Unil then, unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning to Kapao.

As another reviewer mentioned, as of 1/1/15 this place is under new ownership. I would say I was a "regular" at this place since it opened, and was on a first name basis with most of the staff including the owner. That said, Kapao has been on the decline for a year, and now the new managment wants to make it like every other cookie cutter Chinese place in the area. I went today and now everything is "table service", both lunch and dinner which I personally don't like. The menu is brand new, and save for the Kapao "classics" is the same you'd see anywhere else. They're even attempting sushi which I think will end up being a mistake. I fear this is the death knell of Kapao.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites adjacent to this restaurant and went because I felt like walking around and not driving after the managers reception. This place is not like many other "Chinese" restaurants I've been to, they definitely produce a higher quality product. I had the general kapao chicken and it was delicious. Large, all white meat chicken with minimal breading with rice and I added a few veggies. I also tried the dumplings which were fresh, hot, and awesome along with the house soup (I forgot what it's called), which was tasty too. Brian, the manager, was friendly and helpful, hopefully this place will stick around til the next time I'm near Dulles..,.it's yummy!

Unfortunately what was once a refreshing place to eat has been utterly ruined by new management. When you walk in now there's a small buffet set up, but it's right next to the front door (which is mildly disturbing) and really disturbs the flow of walking in. There's also a sushi area set up in the back of the restaurant near the restrooms. The menu has also completely changed. A handful of the original Kapao originals are still on the menu but they are excluded from the lunch specials and just don't seem to taste at all like they used to. The rest of the food has gone the route of generic cookie cutter american Chinese and it's not even a good version of that. The fried rice is more like steamed rice tossed with a scant amount of frozen veggies and a few rubbery pieces of egg. The chicken is very rubbery like it's been frozen more than once. Overall this place has spiraled downward and is on its way to a crash and burn.

Kapao! is an amazing place for halal asian food. The service is great, the food is tasty, and the restaurant is very clean.

I decided to try this place out based on the 4 star yelp review ...and also because it's 4 minutes from work. I didn't have high expectations walking in, as it *is* fusion and Asian fusion is usually hit or miss. The servers were very friendly, I'll give you that. They even recognized the regulars and said bye to them individually. However, food quality will always trump service IMO. I got the Tuesday all day chicken stir fry noodles special - the flavor was there and the portion was large but my noodles were completely soggy. The entire bottom of my takeout container was soupy, which kind of cancels out the whole point of a stir-fry. NOTE: if you're the type to bring food back and eat at your desk..this is NOT work-friendly...the smell is very strong.

  • Justin G.

The place I loved is gone. Clearly, new management. Just another random Asian Fusion restaurant. Beware. This is not the Kapao you are looking for.

NOTE: CLOSED SUNDAYS! I'm not complaining - I think it's great they're giving their employees Sunday off to spend with their families. It's just important to know so you don't try going there on Sunday. We still love Kapao. My kids ask to go there all the time.

I want to like this place, but I just can't. I ordered the crab Rangoon and a small order of Veggie lo mein for takeout. The Rangoon was ok,not very crispy. But my lo mein was terrible. Dry and burnt with no flavor. I didn't even know it was possible to burn lo mein. I won't be going back to Kapao.

They did away with combo meals as far as I could tell. Bummer. :( Also, more annoying to me, is they changed their format to a sit down dinner place instead of order at the counter and sit down. Personally, for a place like Kapao, I would much rather order at the counter -- especially since they only had one waitress working, and she was busy so we had to wait awhile to order... whats the point? you have everything in place to order at the counter with the fancy monitor menu boards and registers... You have self serve soda fountains.... You are set up to be an order at the counter place. Remember having the customers walk the line and see your fresh ingredients? Watch the food being cooked if you want; customizing orders; your whole original sales pitch? To me, personally, I feel they lowered the experience and now I have to pay a tip as well... I'm not trying to sound like a cheapskate... but with their prices hovering around 10 dollars, after tax and tip you're getting near $15... and I just don't think the food is worth that kind of dough. We wanted to try an order dumplings, but then we saw they were like $8 for 4..... nope. We ordered the lomein and fried rice special (Monday and Tuesday).... both were unfortunately disappointing. The lo mein was marginally better, but the fried rice was bland -- i mean, it was spicy and bland, I ordered it spicy... We both agreed we would not get either again, even at the reduced special price. I still think their Kapao chicken is good. but I won't go there for a "sit down" dinner of it. Order at the counter, yes; sit down dinner, eh... I'll pass; take out, maybe -- but then you are competing with every other Chinese takeout in this town... I feel like Kapao had a nice niche going of being a little more upscale than your standard Chinese take out place.... nice enough to order at the counter and sit down and eat there if you wanted, but still informal and casual enough to stop in by yourself for a quick bite while out running errands. Not that I am a fan of either... but when I think of Kapao, I think of a Pei Wei; not PF Changs. But I would rather go pay 7 bucks and eat at Pei Wei and be out the door than pay close to double to sit down and eat at Kapao after tax and tip. Also, I have to say, there was nothing wrong with our waitress -- she did a perfectly fine job.. it's not her fault at all. I don't want anyone to think I am complaining about her service in particular. Sorry Kapao. I liked you better when you were enthusiastic about customers coming in, proud of your fresh ingredients... wanted customers to watch the food being prepared, etc. I didn't get the same vibe with the sit down experience... It just felt weird to me. Like I was in some kind of alternate Kapao universe. I feel like I lost a friend. :-/ Best of luck, Kapao. ALSO TO NOTE: Their SPICY levels are no joke. I usually order stuff as spicy as places make it and it is barely spicy enough... but not too spicy. (I have a bottle of Ghost Pepper sauce here on my desk at work -- to give myself some street cred) I ordered a 4 out of 5 here, and it was almost unbearable; hotter than Blazing wings at BWW, for reference... so use the spicy scale with caution. I can't imagine what a 5 would be.... total annihilation?

It pains me to write this, but Kapao has changed so much that it's no longer the 4-5 star establishment that I used to enjoy. If you read my first review, you see I was impressed with the owner, food, general upbeat vibe, and décor. The restaurant was moving Chinese/Asian food into a modern era of being healthy and innovative. I really enjoyed it. Sometime in the last few months, ownership has changed. The first clues when you walk up to the front door are old-style Chinese menus plastered on the front door, the ones with the old letter/number lists like B1 and C3, etc, like is common in old-school Chinese take-outs. Inside, the menu style has changed back to this old style as well. They have kept many of the dishes from the previous Kapao repertoire, but have also instituted all the old style dishes you'd find at all old-school Chinese restaurants. I've eaten here about three times since it's changed hands, and I find that the food quality isn't as high as it was previously. Chicken is dry and a little tough, unlike the succulent tasty versions before. Vegetables seemed old and unappealing. I can't say the employees are bad or even inconsiderate, but the friendly spark under previous ownership is gone. These folks seem more like they're just going through the motions. To sum up: Change for the better is good. Change for the sake of change is questionable. Change backwards is seldom a good idea, and that's what Kapao has done.

I've really struggled to find good Chinese food in Ashburn. Although I still haven't found a favorite, this place is up there. We got delivery and the food tasted very fresh! Probably the freshest I've had. It was $30 for the two of us to get dinner. That's about what we pay anywhere around here, but the portions weren't as large as other places. So I feel it was just a little overpriced. Overall I would recommend if you want fresh tasting Chinese that doesn't leave you feeling sick like other places.

New favorite place - fresh taste to all the dishes. And they let me turn down the heat (I like it low on the 'spicy hot' meter). Try the General Kapao's Chicken ... or one of the new dumpling varieties!

Fabulous food in a clean restaurant. We seldom travel this far outside the beltway. In this case it was so our daughter could attend a birthday party. We were early, hungry, and wanted something other than party pizza. Yelp to the rescue! The best Hot and Sour soup I can remember. Their take on General Tao's chicken was light, flavorful, any refreshingly subtitle. It, like most other things on the menu, can be ordered to any of five carefully described hotness levels. Our only problem will be coming up with reasons to come out here before a year goes by.

I've stopped here a few times for take out. The food is good but the portions are small for the price and service can be lacking at times. Last 2 times I went, I had to wait a few minutes while the people standing at the counter did not even acknowledge me

As Juicy G. put it, "definitely unexpected." Kapao! absolutely exceeded my expectations, both as I had the mindset it would be too Pei Wei-like but also that it would fall victim to suburban mediocrity - and fortunately, neither assumption turned out to be true. I had a Groupon good for $20 towards dinner that was on the verge of expiration, so hubby and I hiked out to Ashburn to try Kapao! Even though it was pretty quiet indoors on the weekday night we visited, there was a steady stream of phone-ringing and take-out orders. Our waitress was wonderful and oozed personality! She really sold us budding tea-lovers on their tea, which is loose-leaf and served in a loose tea basket with enough water for a very good amount of tea per person. Delish and a good selection of caff and decaf teas. We opted for the lettuce wraps as a starter, and while there could have been more lettuce leaves to make the wraps themselves, we were so busy clamoring over the deliciously crunchy and flavorful chicken that the lack of lettuce didn't matter too much. Sauce served with lettuce wraps is delicious, and neither too salty nor too sweet. Now is where the Spice Fiend in me comes alive - while hubby ordered a basic noodle dish with chicken (that he RAVED about, plus they have noodle specials on certain weeknights) without any spice, I ordered the "Kapao! Stir Fry" with chicken, and I was THRILLED when our waitress asked me if I wanted it "Kapao Spicy" or "Level 4 spicy." She said "Kapao Spicy" was "level 3," so being the Spice Fiend that I am, I chose "level 4 spicy"! Spice lovers will NOT be disappointed. My Kapao! Stir Fry was running rampant with spicy green "jalapeno" (but spicier) peppers, seeds and membranes intact, and plenty of conspicuous chili powder/flakes. Needless to say, I was thankful for the ample portion of brown rice (white is available too) to sop up the cumulatively strong spice, and it made for some amazing leftovers the next day at lunch. I loved the interior of the space at Kapao! - it is open, modern, bright, with clean tables and a semi-open food prep area, with lots of fresh produce and ingredients for their stir-fry and noodle dishes on display. Even without the Groupon, the entire meal with the teas, the app, and the two entrees was less than $30, so we were definitely happy with that. We will return!

This is our second time at Kapow, and while it has some "new restaurant" issues, the food and staff have been excellent on both occasions. There are also gluten free options (just ask) that my son really likes. We've come both times in between lunch and dinner and the food has arrived quickly and been delicious. There usually isn't much of a crowd- may have something to so with being situated in a mall with nothing but food joints! But I hope this one catches on with the locals to stay open!

Amazing! You have to try the General Kapao Chicken and the fresh dumplings!!! I was amazed by how fresh all the ingredients were and everything is cooked up fresh right in front of you. My daughter (typically picky) had the kids pot sticker meal, finished that and went back for an adult order of sesame chicken! We will be back, again and again!

My family and I were looking for a new Asian place and I saw on yelp it had 3 1/2 stars and delivered. We figured we would give it shot and I ordered the pad thai, medium spicy, my daughter ordered the pad thai (regular) and my other daughter ordered the orange chicken. I should've read the recent reviews before I ordered! The pad thai was tasteless, it was like cardboard no flavor AT ALL!! Even though I ordered mine medium spicy it was the same as my daughter's and both of ours had burned egg and chicken. It wasnt "blackened" as in they cooked that way on purpose it was BURNED! It tasted like burned chicken and egg, TERRIBLE! Also we both ordered ours with chicken but I was picking pieces of beef out of my food. I dont eat red meat so I was pretty upset about that. My other daughter who had the orange chicken said it was ok, not bad but not good. However the chicken they used was very fatty and she bit down into a big chunk of greasy fat that made her gag. I will never order from there again and in re-reading the reviews I noticed the positive ones that had been highlighted when I originally looked at them were from several years ago. This was my first time (and last) eating there so I cannot comment on how their food or service used to be; all I can say is this is hands down the worst food I've had since I moved here 9 months ago.

We've drivin by Kapao hundreds of times in the past year while commuting and it just kind of seemed like another chain restaurant that might be ok, but looked a little corporate. It turns out that it's not a chain, not corporate at all, and the food is very good. It's got a really nice, open air layout inside, very comfortable, and a nice little patio. The staff is very helpful and the place was extremely clean..! I ordered the General Kapao and added peanuts to it, with a level four spiciness. It was so delicious, with big chunks of white meat chicken, really good. My wife loved the dumpling noodle soup she ordered as well, and says you could tell the chicken broth was homemade. Liz and her husband own and run the place hands on, she delivered our food to our table and introduced herself and chatted with us. Liz, we loved our dinner and we'll be back soon..! Chip and Beth

I come to this place every so often when I'm feeling like having some oriental for dinner. I think that the customer service is wonderful and the food quality is just as great. I've never really had a problem here and I just wish that they would get more business because every time I go and it is a little bit empty (well except for lunchtime of course!)

I haven't eaten here yet, i just came here one time I was craving for Chow fun, but they didn't have that kind of meal. But I still would love to give here 5 starts because of the owner. So me and my friend asked the service if they have what i want, and the owner came out, he wanted us get inside and take a look for the materials, the type of noodles and which is delicious for us, he introduced what the restaurant had and said no problem if we can't pick what we want. He was enthusiastic and thoughtful and pleasure customers. I think the foods here seems looking good, i might come and give it a try :-)

So I have driven past this place a few times and noticed it when going to five guys. But now that I live in the area, I figured i should try to find a new chinese place. After my husband made a suggestion to have chinese one night and reading the reviews--we decided to give it a try. When my daughter and I first walked up, we noticed the nice sitting area outside. Once entering we noticed that it would be a very nice place to sit down and have a family outing. Not an upscale you need a suit and tie but can take the family and enjoy a nice atmosphere kind of place. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted by a nice cashier and directed to where the menus where. I wasn't sure what to order, so the cashier helped me out! I knew I wanted sesame chicken and then it was hard decision between kapoa chicken or orange chicken. We ended up going with orange chicken, sesame chicken, noodles, and crab Rangoons- to go. Our total originally came to $30 bucks but with the yelp deal it came down to $23--can we say winning!! While waiting I noticed how clean the restaurant was And how nicely decorated it was with an Asian theme. If we weren't in a rush, we would have set down and ate. You can order a bottle of beer or wine if you dine in. While your food is being cooked you can watch the chefs prepare it. The owner was out on the floor and visiting everyone to make sure they were having an enjoyable experience and enjoying their food. She was very nice and she wanted to make sure the customers was satisfied with their order. You don't find to many restaurants that actually care about their consumers so I thought this was amazing. Now to the food--When we got home, I felt our portions where pretty big. The crab Rangoons were really good!! I lovvveeed the noodles I just wish they didn't add small nuts in it. I could barely taste the nuts but I'm just not a nut fan. I liked the orange chicken but it seems they were cooked in a peanut base which like I said not a fan of peanuts. But in all I could taste the orange, and I was for sure I was eating chicken. They also placed real oranges in the orange chicken which was really good! The sesame chicken was good as well. The food also was not greasy and you could tell fresh ingredients were used! If your looking for your corner Chinese greasy not sure if your meat is chicken location- this is not it. This is FAR BETTER, healthier, and great tasting. They only get a 4 because I don't like nuts. I will go back and I will have a seat next time!

Great place. My wife had the chicken lettuce wraps and the Dumpling Noodles Soup Bowl - both of which I highly recommend. Both were clean tasting, aromatic, low sodium, and gluten free. I had the Kung Kapao Stir Fry with Beef - also excellent and large portions. The Staff is friendly and the place is very clean. The Owner stopped by our table and talked to us to make sure that our meals were to our satisfaction. A great place to eat. We will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this place!!!

I walked over to 'Kapao!' on accident, but I'm so glad I did. Many people have recommended this place to me, but I was afraid it'd have the mass-produced taste similar to Pei-Wei. WRONG! I was greeted by an extremely friendly host who also took my takeout order. Decided to go with the lettuce wraps and steamed dumplings. Went home and chowed down on my amazing dinner. For a second I thought I was sitting in my friends' grandmas house, eating homemade food. The meal surpassed my expectations by a long shot. I will definitely be back to dine-in and update my review upon receiving the full dining experience.

I was in the area already and looking for a quick stop for dinner, when I remembered that Kapao was nearby. Hearing good reviews, I decided to stop by on my way home. I wasn't expecting much and assumed it was going to be another average fast food- take out chain, much like Pei Wei or Panda Express. I needed to add something green in my meal, even if it's not much, so I started with the lettuce wraps. I really liked the texture that the water chestnut bought out, the flavor was flavorful and not too salty. It could have used more lettuce leaves, but this is true at almost every restaurant that has lettuce wraps. The Mongolian stir fry was good. I really like that the heat level actually is hot. I opted for the level 3 Spicy and it had good heat to it. I really hate it when the spice level is not authentic to the actual Asian cuisine at all. Service is on-point, everyone was very friendly, welcoming and quick. You know when you go to a restaurant for the first time, and you just stand here for a minute too long, staring blankly at the menu, feeling rushed... well that's me. But, the servers here were all patient and giving suggestions for this first timer over here. I am a fan and will return. Kapao has good value for the food and is a great new addition to the Ashburn area.

Nice place with fresh tasty food. Think of it as the best Chinese you'll ever eat. The better quality, of course, comes at a cost. Lunch or dinner here will set you back $15 to $20. If that doesn't bother you you'll love it! I'm forced to be a little more budget minded so I'll just have to indulge one in a while. General Kapao chicken good. Kick up the spice if you like spice at all.

We happened into this treasure last month and have been raving about it ever since. I really wish we had discovered it more than two months before moving away. We will definitely miss it! Everything we have tried is EXCELLENT, especially the pan-fried dumplings. Oh. My. Goodness! Simply delicious! They're lightly fried to a crisp tender, and are stuffed full of meat and yumminess. It's rare to find a Chinese restaurant where the portions are so good and so yummy that I stop eating because I'm full, not because I'm tired of eating it. For dessert, we'll be having the Golden Treasure, a yummy chocolate confection with molten lava chocolate drizzled over it and sprinkled with powdered sugar. And maybe a mousse or two. I ordered the Mongolian Stir Fry and could barely finish it. It just melts in your mouth.

Wow! This is now on my permanent "return when I'm in Ashburn" list. Great food, great service, great owners, great value - and you can choose to eat inside or al fresco. We had a group of 8, and really just dropped in because we wanted something close and different. The owner met us as soon as we entered and it was obvious from the start that she has put blood, sweat and love into making Kapao! a success - focusing on great food and great service. The wait staff was great - even responding to our on-going teasing, dishing it right back with the perfect tone and approach - proving that they are enjoying working at this little hidden surprise of a restaurant. The food - FRESH, tasty, flexible, and super variety that made it easy to cater to a cast of characters from a wide range of backgrounds, locations, tastes, and preferences. They take great pride in fresh veggies and fruits. You're able to choose spiciness to suite your own preference, 1 (mild) to 5 (killer) and our group enjoyed the whole range. They also welcome special requests, i.e. pick specific veggies, ask for extra ginger, gluten free, etc. Appetizers hit the spot with chicken wings, wontons, and eggrolls. We ordered a variety of drinks, including soda as well as Japanese and local beer. Can't wait for my next business trip to Ashburn because Kapao! will be on the intinerary.

Clean and pleasant decor, the service staff is always friendly and has offered to stay late while we dine on two separate occasions. The food is good, and seems healthier than normal fast Asian fare. Nice patio too!

Great food, great service, great prices! We even wanted something that was not on the menu and they fixed it for us. Love this restaurant.

We were greeted right away and warmly. The chef helped us pick and offered some suggestions. Food was great! We had steamed dumplings to start and Mongolian stir fry. I will definitely come again.

Good basic Chinese food here. If you're craving fast food Chinese, this place will definitely do. The place is very clean and can hold a lot of people.

Delicious food, made fresh right in an open kitchen. Very clean restaurant, friendly staff, great service, different from your typical Chinese place, breaks the mould. Tried the Kapoa Chicken, Beef Pepper Steak, Orange Chicken and their Asian noodles. All excellent! The drumpings and the wontons are delicious, as is the wonton soup. Will try the sesame chicken and the samurai as well next time. Best part is it's Halal and only white meat :)

So I wanted to try this as I love stir fry. I ordered the curry stir fry, my husband had kung kao pao stir fry and wonton soup, my kids split a shrimp nododle stri fry and we also got the lettuce wraps as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the curry sauce that I ordered, but I did like my husband's dish. The kids seemed to like their meal as well. I like the open concept and the restaurant seemed very clean. I look forward to trying something different next time.

Good food, maybe similar to a pei-wei, but better ingredients. Service is spotty, some times it can be great some times it is off. The owners are very friendly and are willing to change the dishes around to suit individual needs. Portion is okay - not sure if it is the rice that fills me up or the veggies -- it is definitely not the protein. The ying is there the yang is kinda off, if everything was properly balanced, I would be here more often. The food can again be a hit or miss - why? Not sure, maybe the cook - maybe the ingredients available that day. Would I visit again, yes, if I am in Ashburn and really really want okay Chinese food then yes, otherwise I will not go out of my way. Star Breakdown: Food - hit or miss - some dishes taste better than others; however nothing will blow you away Service - hit or miss, some times okay some times just non existent Atmosphere - very clean, hip Location - Ashburn - kinda out there, but I happen to be in the area on weekends. Happens to be in the most out of place strip mall/shopping center in N.VA - This literally just pops out of nowhere on Waxpool. Not a good area for foot traffic whatsoever. Family Friendly - Yes, quiet. No blaring music, safe area

I have enjoyed Kapao several times over the last year and have always been happy with the quality, freshness and taste. In fact it turned into one of our go to local Chinese restaurants. That's why we chose Kapao when looking for a lunch option on New Year's Day. It seems the restaurant is under new management as of 1/1. I'm not sure that is a good thing. With a new menu and sparse customers we waited nearly 30 minutes for three basic lunch specials which I am confident are menu staples - old or new. Eventually we opted to take the food out instead of eating in the restaurant as we had wanted when our young children grew impatient with the excessive waiting. Chaos reigned in the kitchen when I asked for an update it was clear some food was finished and some not even started. All this confusion while our food was the only remaining active order. I eventually cancelled one of our meals so we could just leave since there was no clarity on when it would be done. Credit to the staff that easily refunded the portion of the meal and then gave it to us gratis when it was unexpectedly completed as we were leaving. The food itself was not very good and felt like a steep decline in ingredient quality from past experiences. The chicken teriyaki felt that it was improperly prepared and the beef was chewy and stringy. I actually chose to eat leftovers in my fridge in lieu of my meal. I won't write off Kapao just yet but will give them a few months before I return and hope the confusion on the new menu is resolved.

I've eaten AT this restaurant once. Inside is very clean and the staff, while not overly pleasant, seems to have good customer service skills. I just had the Orange chicken and dumplings delivered to my home. I was told it would take between 30-40 minutes. Surprisingly the food arrived within 20 minutes. The orange chicken was completely uneatable. I could barely cut through the chicken with a steak knife. And the ragoons were so under-cooked that the "cream cheese/ crab" insides were was a weird texture, almost like mozzarella cheese. Now I know why the first time I went here I played it safe by getting the sweet& sour! COMPLETE WASTE OF $30!!!

A good first visit for us. From the outside it looks somewhat like a fast food place but actually it is sit-down and dishes are cooked to order. Our waiter recommended ordering from the specials list. Although the full menu has plenty of choices they perhaps were more "Americanized". We had lettuce wrap (okay but nothing special), the beef chow foon, and black bean and ginger fish. Portions were good and large. The fish was rather spicy (no warning on the menu) but the waiter quickly took it back to replace the sauce. Service was attentive. Not fancy in terms of Asian cuisine but overall we enjoyed the dinner and will go back to try other dishes. Kapao also participates in the major airlines mileage program.

This was my first time at Kapao!, after hearing good things from friends in the neighborhood and great reviews. The freshness and quality of the food was very good for a resturant of its class. Personally though, it wasn't my style for Chinese food. It was very American Fusion, drawing less than I expected from the Chinese side.

Scallion pancake crunchy but tasteless? I thought hoisin sauce would improve it, but they don't have any. I made do with dumpling sauce. I also had cold sesame noodles which were quite tasty. My friend had a mongolian stir fry with tofu and enjoyed it. I would definitely try a stir fry dish "bowl" type dish if I return. My experience jibes with what other said about their disorganization. We had to repeat everything at least twice to the person who took our order. I liked being able to view the prep & cooking areas, which were quite clean.

Definitely unexpected. We ordered a delivery order from here tonight for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Finally, an Asian restaurant that doesn't Americanize their Kung Pao Chicken. By that I mean they don't fry it, and cover it in a salty brown sauce. They also actually make it spicy! When we first called up, we were really surprised to hear that their delivery service was running an hour and a half behind. We took this one of two ways; 1) They're really backed up with the rainy weather 2) They're just that good that people are slamming the place with orders...And they're really backed up with the rainy weather Despite this long wait time, we decided to take the chance as we honestly were in no rush to eat dinner. Fortunately it was worth the wait. We ordered three dishes; Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Beef Fried Rice. The dishes were fresh, perfectly seasoned, not greasy, and best of all, tasty. It truly felt as if we were enjoying authentic Asian cuisine as opposed to Americanized versions which are chock full of salt, sugar and grease. As I said - Definitely unexpected. Kapao is definitely my new go to place for delivery Chinese food. It's worth the wait, and best of all, it's cheaper than your average delivery place. We paid twenty-four bucks for three dishes. If I had to have one complaint about the place - They're very skimpy with the white rice that accompanied two of the three dishes.

Very underwhelmed by this place. The food wasn't exactly bad, but was not great considering the price point. Seek out a real Chinese food place for cheaper prices with more flavor.

Ate here twice at different times on different weekdays and had remarkably different experiences. FIRST VISIT, 4pm for a quick snack: 1) Chili sauce was good, "authentic" heat level, similar to what you get in the Sichuan restaurants in the Rockville, MD area 2) Pan fried dumplings were not bad. Heavy on the dough. Dipping sauce was tangy with fresh ginger and scallions. 3) Presentation was nice. Someone took the time to plate and garnish my dish with care, something I always appreciat. Overall impression from this visit: not the best, maybe worth another visit, especially if pinched for time. SECOND VISIT, 12:30 pm for lunch: 1) Chili sauce looked almost the same but tasted nothing like before. It was bland with almost zero heat. Pandering to the lunch crowd? 2) Scallion pancake was burnt, and way too heavy on the dough. 3) Ordered two of their signature wok dishes: orange chicken and Kapow chicken. Both dishes were *incredibly* sweet to the point of being inedible, as if the chicken had been marinated in, cooked in and finally drizzled with corn syrup. To add further to the insult: both the dishes tasted very similar, almost like the same thing. The Kapow was just ever so slightly more savory. The RICE was cheap quality (of a much poorer grade than what you would get even from your neigbourhood Chinese delivery). This makes me sad. Of all things, for an Asian to place to serve poor rice breaks my heart. So is their food just different at different times of the day? Are they short-staffed? Lacking proper quality control in the kitchen during the lunch rush? I'm not sure, but I'm not going to bother with place again. There are plenty of other places to try.

Stopped in to Kapao with a coworker for some lunch. They were running a special for a Chicken Stir Fry for under $6. For $6 it was well worth the try. I was not dissapointed at all. - The place is very, very clean. You can 'feel' it when you walk in. Very bright. Very clean. - The service is excellent. The manager/owner greeted me when i came in. The guy who delivered our meals was very friendly and quickly too care of an issue with my order. They went above/beyond what I'd expect from a sub-$10 stir fry place. - You can see the ingredients behind the glass. It all looks very fresh and the kitchen area very clean. - They have a large amount of people working there so it is easy to get one's attention. - The food came out hot. The stir fry was excellent. The egg rolls were something you'd expect to find at a very high end Asian restaurant. I was very surprised at the quality of the food for the price. Everything tasted very fresh. If you are in the area for lunch, give them a try. Perfect price for lunch.

Think Pei Wei, just a little slower and more expensive. For lunch I got the general kapao lunch special....its costs 12 dollars?!?! We are talking a lunch sized meal with white rice (brown rice add another dollar!!), a soup and a drink. The lunch was good and fresh, but for 12 dollars, i'll take a chance and eat at chin chin's for 7. Food is good, but not double the price good. PeeWee does that lunch special for 6.95 that can't be beat. Sorry, just got to tell it like it is.....

I've been meaning to write a review for this place as I've been here several times. I've eaten there twice and got food to go once. It's definitely one of my top 3 chinese/asian places in the area. The service here is fantastic, they really seem to like their job and have knowledge about the menu. I've had the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, dumplings, and the egg drop soup. I wasn't a fan of the dumplings, I thought they were too doughy. The egg drop soup is so good, definitely my favorite thing I've has here. The orange chicken is good, the fresh oranges really add something to the dish. I liked the sweet and sour chicken more than the orange chicken. One of the better sweet and sour chickens I've had. I asked for them to take the onions and carrots off but to leave on the pineapple. Next time I will ask for extra pineapple! So good! The one thing I don't like is that the food isn't as good the nest day, the chicken is usually stringy and hard. The quality of the food seems pretty good so I don't know why this would happen. The next time I go back I want to try the golden treasure dessert!

Really like this place! they have a unique menu, and advertise all fresh ingredients. I like their take on different types of dumplings - bbq, turkey bacon/cheese, traditional - all are good. The hot/sour soup is yummy. I found that a lot of their entree dishes are spicy and include jalapenos, but you can ask to omit the peppers or make it mild. The restaurant itself is very family friendly; totally fine to take toddlers here. The staff is nice. The delivery service is prompt too. Also - this restaurant is fully halal with no pork on the menu! :)

As a Asian food chef I do have a set standard of food, if I feel like it's amateur hour I probably won't return and that was the case. As I step foot inside the decor and facade were very modern and I liked that. Sadly because of this modern take, they thought induction woks were a better idea then traditional gas powered ones; and they're not. I ordered a simple combo fried rice, and for myself a yellow curried chicken. The curry chicken wasn't bad, I'd say just par. The fried rice was sad. They like to use a white rice over parboiled but these leads to the rice to actually clump and leave unseasoned and un-sauced balls of rice through out. I mean fried rice. All in all the idea is good but sadly traditional is just way more tastier and worth the money still.

After trying this place out for my third time I can safely say this is my favorite asian cuisine in the area. I don't come out this way often since I work in the data centers across the street only every 4 months or so but when I do I always have to stop here. The general Kapao chicken is delicious and they will let you select the type of rice you want (white, brown, fried) as well as the spiciness of your food (0-5 scale). The ingredients are fresh and the food is cooked right in front of you in the clean open kitchen. The people working are kind and professional and offer good recommendations if you ask. I will definitely be returning for my fourth visit soon!

Food is fresh and made to order. We've tried the spicy stir fry with shrimp, noodle soup with dumplings, lettuce wrap, and a few other items. Brown rice is offered as an option. We also tried a fried chocolate won-ton dessert which was delicious, but could have used a dipping sauce. I could see them being served in a more upscale restaurant with a cinnamon ice cream. The service was very good. Both times we were there, we were asked how we enjoyed the food, how it could be improved, etc. They seem to be honestly interested in their customers opinions. I hope they do well.

I have been here twice for lunch, and I have to say both times were quite different. The first time, I dined in, and it was fabulous. I got the Mongolian stir fry with chicken, level 2 spicy, and it was HOT (for someone who is admittedly a bit wussy about spiciness). It was delicious, and I took the leftovers with me for a whole second meal. The second time, I went and got my order to go for lunch. I ordered exactly the same thing as the first time (though this time Level 1 spicy), and I learned a valuable lesson: DINE IN. With the to go order, I got significantly less food overall, and very little sauce. It was enough for one meal, but certainly not the great deal it was the first time, though it came with the same $11+ price tag. Overall, the atmosphere is nice - clean and modern - and the food is delicious. But I will never order my food to go again, as I don't need a mountain of plain rice with less meat/veggies and almost no sauce to go with it. If a coworker order to go from here again, I might just ask them to get me an egg roll, as those are very good, and the portion size should be consistent.

Took my fiancé here for a Sunday lunch date and we were both impressed !First service is amazing truly customer focused this is a rare thing in the DC metro area second the food was fresh you could see the raw ingredients front of you and watch the chef cook them. The fiancé had orange chicken which was all white meat chicken breast with fresh oranges chopped up and I tasted and it was truly delicious! The chef came by to ask is how our food was and we were done eating they brought us a surprise a wonton filled with chocolate for dessert!!!

Second visit and still no improvement. Similar in concept to Pei Wei but the quality is not very good. Very stingy on the proteins and they use a lot of the cheaper veggies (onions) to compensate for small portions. Had the dumplings (not bad) and Lettuce Wraps (iceberg lettuce???) for the apps... And orange chicken (not bad), beef stir fry (bland at #3 spicy), beef noodle stir fry (where's the beef?), and General Kapao Chicken (gummy sauce). Have to say that I'd rather save my money and go to Panda Express for what you get at Kapao... As the quality is better at Panda and the portions about the same... And $3 cheaper a plate to boot. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Don't waste your time or money. They are over price and their food is bland. Tonight was dinner in with the parents and after a year of passing their restaurant we decided to order delivery. We ordered Hunan Shrimp with sauce on the side, Hunan Beef, a spring roll, and the Kapao fried rice (I got suckered into the Monday Special). Our first impression was definitely foreshadowing. My dad lifted the styrofoam contain with my Kapao fried rice and it exploded EVERYWHERE. They have the flimsiest styrofoam containers I've ever seen, it literally cracked in his hands. The Hunan Shrimp was made with the sauce, not on the side like requested. It was also 3/4 rice and after one bite my mom was so pissed she just threw it out. My dad on the other hand at his Hunan Beef but as he kept muttering, he wished he threw his out. It was also bland and didn't taste like hunan beef, I can conquer since he made me check. Out of principle he seasoned it himself and ate it. The Kapao Fried Rice was just generic fried rice, nothing special at all like you would assume from the name. I also assumed there would be at least some spice or basil with the thai name, you know since it's called Basil Fried Rice. Out of the three dishes I definitely won the lottery for the best dish, I also have about 6 cups of it (probably a big reason why it exploded everywhere). The spring roll was so so, large but dripping in grease. Fortune cookies were good though ;-)

My first two visits here were great. no complaints. Their food is always fresh, isn't heavy with sauces like most places, and the food is cooked right in front of you. The most recent time I cam was at lunch time. There were about 8-10 people already eating in the restaurant. My order came to about $15 and I handed the cashier a $100 bill (that's all I had on me) and she said she had change to give me but declined to do so in case someone else came in with a big bill. She said I would have to leave or stand aside and wait for some more customers to come. I find it surprising they don't keep a little extra cash in the back for these circumstances. Finally I was able to order and sat to eat my lunch while she stated she would bring my change out shortly. She brought it out and it was short $21 and some change. I told her and she said "oh sorry about that" and brought my $21 only to short me on the change part of it. At this point I didnt bother over change and just continued to enjoy the great food! I will definitely be back but with smaller bills!

Don't think we will be returning to this place at all. The fried rice was pretty good, however I ordered the rice with no eggs for myself and my daughter. When the order came out the rice was loaded with eggs.I asked the server several times to correct this but each time she came to the table she act as if she forgot to place the order. Needless to say I end up trying to pick eggs out her rice and shared mine.

Delicious and fresh Americanized Chinese food! Eat in or carry out; it's all delicious. A helpful hint: while they do accept credit card payments, they do not accept credit card TIPS at this time - cash-only tipping.

We had a very gregarious host who convinced us to try the pan fried dumplings. Glad we did as they were quite good. We had the broccoli sir fry and the Hunan chicken. We were impressed with the quality of the ingredients. Our host have us complimentary fried chocolate wontons for dessert which were delicious.

This place is very good. I ordered the pan fried dumplings, General Kapao's chicken, egg drop soup and Golden Treasures. Everything is fresh and delicious, I definitely enjoyed it. I do think it is a bit pricey so I wont be able to frequent it on the lunch time as often as I would like, I do hope they keep the combo pricing as that helps. I did a sampler to try things out but on average with combo General Kapao's Chicken and the egg drop soup with soda was $11.45 so its more than I like to spend during the lunch hour. They also gave me a sample of the of the Mama's chicken and it was very good. The pan fried dumplings were $5.75 for 4, I would like to see a full order of 6 for that price... But nevertheless they are delicious! The golden treasures were good and were drizzled with choc and raspberry sauce I believe.

Will never order here again. I have already tossed the menu. VERY VERY VERY bland. to-go containers were only 1/2 to 3/4 full and the juices watery. Try Asia Café, they are 1000 times better.

Ordered lunch special stir fried noodles. Order with tofu and rice noodles were bland, rice noodles under cooked. Other order with lomein, chicken, and shrimp. Delivered with no shrimp and lomein over cooked. Overall taste was not authentic and Americanized. Will not order from here anymore. Pricey and not worth it.

Haven't gone through the whole menu yet but have tried the General Kapao chicken, dumplings, and my favorite MAMA'S CHICKEN(not on menu yet). I order Mama's Chicken spicy and it tastes the best(I just wish it came with rice since I'm a rice fiend)! I recommend it to everyone and if you haven't rolled through here do iiiiit dooooo it noooow!!

Service is attentive/kind or smothering/desperate depending on who you get. The cashier encouraged us to watch the chef cook our meal when we handed him our ticket, but when we stood in front of the chef, he abashedly shooed us away to our table and told us someone else will bring food to us. What was technically confusing is how they were obviously using a high-tech system for the orders and yet we had to hand the paper ticket to the chef to cook our order. I imagine the system would have already told him what we were ordering. The food was below medicore and overpriced. The sesame chicken's sauce had a gritty texture and left an overwhelming garlic aftertaste in my mouth until the next meal. The accompanying broccoli was sad and sparse. The wonton noodle soup had a carelessly placed full leaf of romaine lettuce on top of the soup. The broth was bland and lacked life. Portion size was below average. For $9, I can get two times the amount of sesame chicken with a smoother sauce elsewhere. For $8.95, I can get three times the amount of wonton noodle soup elsewhere with a flavorful broth. I applaud the clean and attractive decor, but I will not return.

Our hotel was walking distance to this place, and the kids all agreed they wanted to try a little Asian food. We try to do non chains on our road trips. I'm not sure why this place has 3.5 stars, unless their competitors are doing these reviews. The service was shockingly fast, and considering we have four kids we really appreciate not sitting and waiting for food. The pepper steak had just the right kick and was super flavorful, the sweet and sour chicken was fan freaking tastic. The kids want to come again before we leave town. The waiter offered suggestions for the kids on Noodles and we ate every single bite of our food, and honestly, they were just about the best I've had in forever. We all loved the dumplings, all that being said, spending 15 minutes chatting with Liz the owner? Awesome! It's clear they really care about their food and customers. We'll be back before we leave town.

Incredible customer service! I've eaten there a few times and each time I've been greeted with more than a smile, but they truly try to understand your individual palette and customize the dish accordingly. As I waited for my food I received a sample of "Mama's Chicken," a combination of southern comfort appetizer meats (pun intended) asian hill country cuisine, delicious dish, would like to see it served with a sauce. My wife and I have eaten the Wonton appetizer (sauce was rich with flavor, would like to see the flavor of the sauce carried through into the shrimp/chicken meat part of the wonton). I've also had the Kapao! Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Both dishes had great flavor, but would like to see more vegetables on the Kapao, maybe broccoli. Overall, I love this place and in my opinion, as a customer, I will always go back to the place I feel valued as a customer over the competition. Thanks for making me feel valued!

I've only eaten here once. The employees are friendly and seem genuine in their effort to help you. Prices are high for what you get. The orange chicken was pretty good, but the broccoli in that dish wasn't anything exciting (not the best pick of broccoli and nothing special about how it was prepared). The stir fry noodles tasted OK but a big no-no for me: they used spaghetti instead of asian egg noodles (yikes). That's why I gave them a 2 star rating. I would be willing to try some of the other dishes.

Wonderful first experience at Kapao. Think PF Chang's, but with the speed and vibe of a Chipotle or Panera. I was greeted by super friendly young man who walked me through the menu, asked questions and made suggestions. A bunch of great sounding dishes. I opted for the Mongolian Beef with brown rice and a bowl of wonton soup. Watched the friendly chef start my dish, then went and paid, got my soda and found a table. I was also given a free sample of the Mama's chicken, which is delicious and will be a hit with kids (and kids at heart). A young woman appeared with my soup. She also brought some wonton chips. The soup was delicious. Soon, my main dish arrived steaming hot with a generous helping of rice. It was great. I ate half and was given a to-go box for the rest. Kapao is a great new lunch option in Ashburn.

Just walked out of here and had to write a review, even though I've only tried one dish (hot & spicy stir fry). This place oozes high-tech quality, I'll call it the HTC One/iPhone/Audi-VW interior of fast Chinese restaurants. You walk in and place your order with the cashier, then you take your receipt to the chef station to which you are assigned and watch your chef stir fry your food in front of you. There are 3 (I believe) chef stations as well as one just for appetizers! Each station has boiling water for veggies, and the baskets are lowered/raised electronically! Really cool to watch, I can only imagine how much that cost. It's a touch overblown (e.g., what's with the paper receipt you hand to the chef when every station has an iPad mini with your order details?) but overall, I was very impressed. Even their takeout containers/bags are much nicer than your typical Chinese delivery joint. The food itself, well, it's new so I give them a pass (my chicken was pretty dry, unfortunately). It's definitely a healthier way of eating Chinese so I give them 4 stars, and I'll adjust it upward (or downward) depending on how their food turns out as they mature.

Its a nice place to have lunch. Clean, staff is very attentive. I had Dan Dan Noodles - quantity is not good for lunch but any way it is not lunch item, its a starter but I ordered it for lunch. I read everyone's reviews and decided to try their delivery service. They wanted a minimum delivery order of $50. That is shockingly outrageous and excessive for the Ashburn area. Our family passed and went to their competitor.

Just went to Kapao for the first time and loved it! I had the Orange chicken, and my wife had the kung kapao stir fry beef and both were delicious. Great concept and great food, can't wait to try it again.

I went to Kapao for lunch and I will definitely be back! Great customer service, delicious food, cool environment...overall it was a wonderful dining experience. When we arrived, one of the waitresses offered us a sample of the egg roll and dumplings- both were awesome. For lunch we order 4 pan seared dumplings, Mongolian chicken stir fry, and general Kapao's chicken (my favorite). Everything was so flavorful and the ingredients were so fresh. You can also watch your food being cooked on the wok right after you order it, which was fun. All the employees were so nice and helpful, I felt like a valued customer. I will definitely be eating at Kapao again so I can try everything on the menu.

I have eaten here a few times and I think it just gets better and better! They have worked out some of their kinks in the ordering process. You do not need a ticket to hand to the chef, you just sit down and place your number in the holder and someone brings your food to your table. This place is impeccably clean and the people who work there are so friendly! I always appreciate when someone seems happy to have you in their establishment and glad to have your business! I am so tired of giving my money to businesses that have workers who make you feel like they hate their job and helping you is the worst thing that has happened to them all day. Now on to the best part- the food! It is always hot, fresh and delicious! I have had the sesame chicken, general kapao's chicken and the wonton soup. I love how the vegetables comes out crisp, not limp like a lot of other asian places. And the sauce for both dishes is light and tasty. It is a full plate of food! I definitely don't agree with the other poster that the portions are small! The wonton soup is probably the best I have ever had. The broth has a lot of flavor and depth. This is my husband and I's new favorite place to meet for lunch! The service is great, the food is delicious and it has a great atmosphere. The only thing lacking is a sister restaurant in Reston so I can go more often! (hint, hint...)

Kapao is going to be my new go-to Asian restaurant. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous so you definitely get your moneys worth. Most importantly, the food is phenomenal! I had the general Kapao chicken...probably the best I have ever had. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was amazing..not too spicy- just right...you can tell that all their food is really fresh which is important to me. It is a family owned restaurant and the waiters and chefs were very friendly and the service was great. Look no further for Chinese food in Ashburn, this is the place to go!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
