Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

After the Rosslyn location closed I started getting delivery from this location. I have tried many gluten free pizzas in the DC / NoVA area. I cannot speak to this location's gluten pizzas, customer service or ambiance (but c'mon). Delivery has always been timely (30 to 45 minutes); taste and ingredient quality have been consistent as well. By the time I open the box, the pie is hot and it tastes fresh. I do think it's one of the best gluten free pizza doughs you can find in this area - not mushy, got a crunch to it - I think it's brushed with olive oil before going into the oven so it probably helps to crisp the edges. If you are or were a gluten, true New York / Brooklyn style pie loving individual - don't do the apples vs oranges comparison thing when you try this one and then post a ton of negativity here. Simply does not apply. On a night where you want a hot fresh bite of pie, a beer or glass of wine, this place will do. I've only ordered online. Note - leftover pie doesn't taste good and it doesn't reheat well (as far as the gluten free version goes) so if you are into that this will be an issue for you

I order pick-up whenever I'm in the mood for pizza. Much better quality food than the other chain delivery places. My favorite is the white pizza (mozzarella and garlic-pesto sauce) and pizza with peperoni and kalamata olives with tomato sauce. They are convenient for me to order, drive there, and pick-up. They have never screwed up my order. I've also ordered delivery when I felt lazy. They have several tabled to eat onsite but I have never eaten at this location, I have at others.

No customer service whatsoever. I had a Living Social deal for $20 that said to be used by today, January 7, 2015. They would not let me use it, and said it was expired. I kept showing him on my phone that I had until today, but he would not listen. They were not apologetic, and were completely rude. I ended up leaving my food on the counter and walking out.

I'd been here a couple of times before, but this was my first time eating here after a couple of months. This has probably been the worst experience with food I've ever had. I ordered a Pollo Latino sandwich without salsa, and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The sandwich was the worst of all, it was extremely spicy (even though it is supposed to be spicy on some level), beyond the usual. maybe the salsa evens the spiciness out, or maybe they've changed something, I'm not sure. Yet, my mouth stung horribly after the second bite. the pepperoni pizza was a bit bland, it just wasn't to my taste. Overall: I would not eat there again.

I just ordered a large Greek pizza with Gluten-free crust. I was so exited to eat pizza again that I almost forgot that I paid 30 bucks for a large pizza. Then... I found a HUGE black hair in the second slice I picked up. I called them to tell them what I found and they said they couldn't do anything for me. Great customer service! I will never ever ever eat here again! Not worth the money.

Its pizza, Its good, It wasn't life changing good, but it was good. I used to goto the rosslyn one because it was in my building and if this says anything.....I was sad when it was gone.

I rarely post Yelp reviews but after my experience tonight, I feel that it's warranted. I ordered two pizzas and wings online at 6:51 pm. Surprisingly, the online order did not provide an estimated time of delivery. Having ordered from zpizza before, and factoring it was Sunday night at what's likely a peak ordering time, I expected it to take 45-60 minutes. At 8:06, I called zpizza to check on the status of my order. A woman took my call and explained to me that her driver went out "30 minutes ago" and that he had 7 orders. She had no idea why the driver was taking so long but assured me my order was on its way. I asked her how much longer it would be and she didn't have an answer. However, she offered to call the driver to find out how much longer it would be and then call me back. At no point during our initial conversation did the woman apologize, which was disappointing. I thought I would get a phone call in about 5 minutes or less. After waiting more than 10 minutes, I called zpizza again at 8:20. The same woman answered and explained to me that she was unable to reach the driver. There was no apology for having not called me back promptly. At this point, I was upset at the lack of answers and accountability. I told the woman that I no longer wanted my order, as I was upset and needed to find something else to eat. I was hungry and my 9+ month pregnant wife was starving. The woman let me know that my credit card wouldn't be charged (how nice!) and that the order would be free, if it arrived at all. IF IT ARRIVED AT ALL? And no, I still did not receive an apology at any point during our conversation. I went ahead and fixed a quick dinner for my wife and I. At 9:06, our order arrived. I asked the driver what took so long. He explained that "it was a real busy night and we've had a large number of orders." My wife commented that maybe zpizza should get more people working for them. He responded that zpizza had TOO MANY employees in a condescending tone. Then he commented that maybe we should call zpizza if we were upset. The driver hastily left and never apologized. Frankly, he didn't seem to care. To sum up, it took 2 hours and 15 minutes for our food to arrive. Based on when the order supposedly went out, it took the driver an hour and 30 minutes to get our food to us. Completely unacceptable. And yes, our food was lukewarm. Order zpizza for delivery at your own risk. Don't expect apologies or appropriate customer service if something goes wrong with your order.

Its quick, tasty and has lots of unique options. It's not greasy and offer a different spin on pizza than you get at dominos or papa johns. They sell pizza by the slice too! Which is nice because not many places in the area do.
(4)Tomasz Å.
It was cold and not even close to my order.
(1)Betty H.
I think this pizza place is supposed to be a healthier type of pizza. I didn't feel crazy thirsty after eating it, unlike some other pizza places. That's about all the positives from this place. Got a pizza delivered from here and it took a long time for it to come. The pizza tasted extremely flavorless. It was also so thin and flat. Nothing too special here. Don't think I will try this place again.
(2)Becky K.
Showed up at 9:50 to order whatever pizza was available and they were already closed. Not about to be closing, but completely closed. Disappointment.
(1)L.J. T.
My wife and I have been ordering from here for 5 years because we love the food. Z offers Vegan and Gluten Free options which actually taste good unlike some local competitors. Unfortunately the ownership, management and staff have always been an revolving door. The particular group in place currently are the worst because they ALWAYS close early. I have gone up there before 7 PM on a week night to find them closed. Tonight they closed early before 9 PM despite advertising their hours of operation to be until 10 PM. I have learned to pick my food up rather than order delivery because I can't handle waiting over an hour for cold food. On the occasional chance that they happen to stay open as late as they are supposed to, I witness store clerks allowing the phones to ring off the hook which is obviously because they don't feel like taking more orders. Heaven forbid you actually do your job. I've had it with this place.
(1)Pegah Y.
I actually liked zpizza a lot. The pizza is fresh and they have quite a few options to choose from on their menu. I ended up ordering the Napoli pizza, which came with tomatoes, parmesan cheese, mozzarella, basil, and roasted garlic sauce. It was delicious and lasted me for a couple days, since it's so big! It's convenient for take-out for sure.
(4)Kathryn R.
Fantastic fresh pizza with a delicious crust - not too thin so it is limp and the outer edges have a satisfying crunch. Top it off with great salads - also fresh and you've got a winner, right in my Arlington neighborhood. Yummy!
(5)Tara G.
Thank you for providing the most delicious gluten-free pizza option I've experienced yet! Topping combos were interesting, delivery timing was perfect, and the online ordering was soooo convenient. See you next work pizza party :)
(5)Ross F.
pizza is ok but i placed an order online via their site and it was late and wrong. When I called the store to resolve the issue, I had to speak with two different people, and neither seemed to care. The manager said, "well, I just got here" as if it wasn't his problem, then spent 5 minutes trying to verify if I was telling him the truth and make sure I as the customer didn't mess up the order online. Manager really didn't seem to care at all. For the $ they charge I expect better service. EDIT: Reduced to 1 star because after the manager said he would have a free Veggie pizza to fix my order (and so the folks who don't eat meat could actually have some food), he decided not to do that, and didn't bother to call and tell me. So I wait an hour for my co-workers to be able to eat then I call to check the status and he says oh yeah, how about I credit you a Pizza. It would have been nice to know an hour ago.
(1)David P.
The pizza here is delicious. I especially liked the Mexican. Friendly service and cozy seating for a cold winter afternoon or carry out to eat at home. We will be back.
(5)Caitlin M.
Ordered two calzones at 6pm and received two cold calzones at 830pm. I Had to spend 25 minutes on the phone with the lost delivery because he had no idea what he was doing. I should've learned from the last time when it took them 2hrs to deliver but I was willing to give them a second chance. After waiting 2.5 hours for cold food I will never order from this place again and will be sure to spread the word about their awful delivery service.

I want to love this place. really, I do. Avocado on my pizza? sure thing!! But the promise of delicious food rarely turns into reality for me. That one time that things worked out and it was super tasty has kept me coming back over and over again for the punishment. God help me, I hate giving bad reviews to restaurants, especially since the food itself is good and the staff seems really nice and helpful, and i stress that *the drivers are always excellent*! it's just that they literally NEVER get my order right. Sometimes my items are brimming with seemingly random toppings in addition to the ones ordered, many times the extra toppings i pay for are not there at all. I'm willing to pay extra for quality, in fact I'm happy to, but in the same vein, it's more annoying when you pay a lot for a pizza if you can't enjoy it. at least if it's cheap you can just sigh and say "you get what you pay for" pick off the offending topping, trying not to notice the lingering taste. I don't like doing this, and I hate complaining. It took about 3 times before I called and complained. (FYI i order mostly online and occasionally by phone) They are always very happy to credit me and are usually really pleasant on the phone. I have had a free credit at this place so many times it's ridiculous. why wouldnt I be happy then? free food, right? No. continuously NOT what i ordered over and over again, the credit just kept ensuring I come back and order another 20$ minimum to get my freebie. I can never bring myself to tell them to send the driver back right away with the right thing, because it's not their fault. But I did this time, no more credits and I don't plan on ordering again, I'm breaking the cycle of sadness!! I just have to remember that no matter how good my siren-song of an order sounds, it's not going to be what comes. stay strong, me!

We've used ZPizza a few times, but I just can't get too excited about them. I'm not a person who thinks healthy food is gross as long as the ingredients are fresh and interesting. E.g. Even if they're the same calorie count, I will devour a fresh salad and won't touch a Lean Cuisine. zpizza kinda reminds me of a lean cuisine. They're trying to be healthy, but what they're giving you is a lot like low-calorie cardboard. Not very flavorful, and the crust is just bad. Disappointing.
(2)Mike B.
Zpizza absolutely WILL NOT STOP spamming my email account. Please stop eating there so they go out of business and finally leave me alone. They also won't let you unsubscribe without first giving them additional personal information.
(1)Regan S.
I really really liked this place. So much, in fact, that I was half way through my delicious sandwich before I realized it was the wrong one! Seriously, did not even occur to me. But it was so good, I ate it all anyway. The manager was soo sooo sooo great. We had to wait a few for fresh bread. Boo yah. I definitely recommend this place. Prices are decent for good food and I think you can customize any way you want. Yum!
(5)Chris R.
Don't bother. I placed a delivery order via Seamless at 7:22, received confirmation at 7:37. Started writing this at 9:31 and my order has still not arrived. Called the restaurant directly at 8:50 and was greeted by "Z Pizza, we're not taking orders right now." I asked about the status of my order, but before I could supply any identifying information about myself or the order I was told that "all delivery tickets are off the wall," which I gather means that the remaining orders for delivery had already left the building. As of 9:30, I ended up making myself something else for dinner, and as of this writing (about 11:00), still no pizza.
(1)Leon M.
this place sucks, and the owner tried to bribe me with cookie for a positive yelp review
(2)Maria Elena M.
So disappointed!!!! I used to go to the ZPizza in Brea, California all the time and they get 5 stars every time. Their Napoli pizza made me love tomatoes with how fresh all their food was. I went there every other week. I just moved to Arlington 2 weeks ago and was so excited to find out that there was a ZPizza nearby. The food I got today was nothing like what I used to get in CA. My Napoli pizza arrived cold and it tasted nothing like the pizza I've had 100 times before in CA. My salad didn't taste fresh either. It's horrible to crave something so badly and have it arrive over an hour after you order it and have it not taste good. Very sad!
(2)Michael P.
Best tasting pizza in Arlington. Online order in works great and delivery is convenient.
(5)Agnes C.
Of all zpizza locations.. By far this turns me off the most! Don't get me wrong, I love zpizza, however this store turns my stomach. It's always hot as hell, no air conditioning, dirty tables, not a lot of ready made pizza choices, no napkins, and dirty, dirty, dirty! Ugh!
(1)Anthony I.
Revision; after posting this review on Yelp, I was contacted by owner of zpizza. he was very sincere and professional, he apologized and did everything he could to rectify the situation. For his efforts, I threw in another star. They accepted responsibility and rectified the situation, I appreciate that, knowing that accidents do happen. DEAD MOTH IN MY SALAD! Can I give 0 stars? See my uploaded photos, after calling the place to let them know, they asked if I could drive back and show them so I could get my next order free. This was after they told me that the salad comes pre-bagged and washed and they don't wash it. STAY AWAY, unless you like protein in the forms of moths.
(2)Karen V.
Sorry to say it was not really that great. I could have had a D'giorno and called it a night. Maybe pizza was never meant to be "healthy"? IDK. Snooze and can we go grab a slice at Vocellis?
(2)Alexander C.
Need a pizza delivered to you? Check. Animal-friendly ingredients? Check. All kinds of great toppings? Check. Delivery happens in a reasonable amount of time? Check. Zpizza is everything that I want in a pizza delivery company. Best of all their drivers can actually get to my crazy location (where I'm on a Street that is next to a Road with the *SAME* street address). That's a big plus, since even the mailman makes that mistake, and often! I usually get the whole wheat crust, organic tomato sauce, one half with artichokes and red onions, other half with kalamata olives and red peppers. So good!
(5)Keith H.
Appropriately named because this should your last choice if you want good pizza. We ordered a large Thai Chicken pizza and a soda. A very nice person called and told us they did not have the soda we selected so they offered other choices which was appreciated. (And with a 7-11 next door, I'm a little surprised by this but OK...) When the pizza arrived it was about 50% toppings and 50% crust. Perhaps they thought we ordered a small pizza on a large crust? No. The taste of the pizza was fair. Nothing to brag about. It satisfied our appetite but there was very little taste. The ingredients such as carrots and bean sprouts tasted fresh but the chicken was a bit chewy. And there was very little peanut sauce and a few pieces of cilantro. Not a lot of effort or care seemed to have been put into this order. Final advice: exhaust all of your options between A and Y before trying Z Pizza.
(2)Alex L.
Consistently good pizza. It's not a fancy place for eat in, but I've always been happy with my take out and delivery orders. I love that their are a number of options, from wheat crust to soy cheese, plus lots of great toppings. They will also allow you to swap out toppings on some of their pizza creations for no additional cost. The california and and the napoli pizzas are my favorite. I think it should be said that this chain is not like a lot of the upscale pizza places in the area if you want to dine in. But for take out or delivery it definitely beats out any of the major chains. All of the ingredients are fresh and the cheese isn't dripping with grease.
(4)Sally R.
So far, not so good, zpizza. We will see if this changes when (or should I say IF) my food arrives. Ordered on Seamless at 7:15 on a Friday, waited 40 mins for a confirmation email that never came, when on Seamless it said the restaurant was closed.. ABWAHH????!! Check their website, says they're open til 10pm, what the DEUCE is going on? Let's call and find out! Me: Have you received my Seamless order because it is now saying you're closed, Zpizza chickadee: OH yeah we've been having problems with that, let me ask my boss... Yes we've got your order. Me: Ok, cool, do you have an idea when it will be delivered? ...... Zpizza dude: Hello?? Me: uhhhh Hi, do you know when that pizza will be delivered? Zpizza dude: Welllll let's see... you're third on the board, so I would say, 45 minutes, easily. Yeah, easily easily easily 45 minutes. Easily. [I can't emphasize enough how many times he said easily. Also, how long does it take to make 3 pizzas? Can't Domino's bang that shit out in like 30 minutes??] The rest of the call was just weird and brusque and like Zpizza dude had never taken a call from a customer before. Just now got my confirmation email (about 20 minutes after calling) and it still says 45-60 minutes, so the Mystery of When and What Will I Have For Dinner Tonight is still yet to be solved..... Stay tuned for the probably but hopefully not disappointing conclusion.

I cannot praise ZPIZZA enough. They have the best ingredients, so it truly is the employees that make the ZPIZZA experience what it is...Let me start the review: Delivery - Sometimes I wish that I lived in a delivery area but then after reading SEVERAL reviews maybe it's a good thing that I don't live in Zzone. When I order Zpizza from my alexandria office I will grade the review and update the rating. The one thing I can't stand is cold food and looking at what other users are reviewing I am expecting a low-grade here. I wouldn't mind addressing the corporation and figure out what motivates the drivers? I've NEVER had any issues with Dominos and they live within a 3 miles radius. My issues with Dominos is their lack of variety. So zero stars but I will not at this point in time knock/praise their delivery services Quality - 3 1/2 stars *** - This is an overall review for all zpizzas in the DC Metro area. For Alexandria (Duke St), Arlington (Washington Blvd), Lorton, Merrifield (Lee Hwy), and Falls Church (Broad St). I have had phenomenal pizza. When I was on a Vegan diet zpizza was there. When I went gluten-free, zpizza was there. And when it comes to presentation of the pie, it does not lack in appearance and distinguishes itself from the competition. The only ingredient I would like to see added to the mix is bacon (but I did not take away stars for that in this section). Now had the location in Springfield not existed this would be a 4 1/2 star in quality (again I pickup my pizza so I don't get cold orders) however wouldn't mind seeing the boxes in a heated bag. The presentation of pizza at the Springfield location would not have me come back as a repeat customer. And remember, it's not the ingredients, it's the employees. They use the wrong crust often and when they use the correct crust several times it has holes in the bottom of the pizza or just falls apart. When you use daiya cheese they are skimpy unlike the other stores. I think that Zpizza should pull out from Springfield so that they do not damage their reputation any more than what other reviews are knocking from the drivers Value - 3 stars - While they are the best pizza and only place I'll order from I swear I hafta hunt for yelp or groupon coupons! It ain't easy shelling out $50 for two big pies when dominos is rubbing their half off price in your face. But I honestly love ALL the ingredients that Zpizza uses and welcome a dining experience at my house as oppose to: Yo! Pizza's here. Variety - 4 1/2 stars - You have rustica pizzas, small, large and XL. The store also sells individual prices. Vegans and the Gluten-Free are welcomed here. I've never seen this fantastic of a variety and the recommended pizzas that you can buy that they'll create. Bring home the bacon Z! I would love to give a five star review on your variety because of the attention you give to your customers allergies! Dine-In - 3 stars - In all restaurants the sitting area isn't large. I think the biggest one that I have been or space used wisely was the Merrifeld location and that wasn't huge either. As great as the food is the cleanliness of the place wasn't great, but OK for a pizza joint. I have not gone to a bathroom there that wasn't clean. I think for being a pizza place it was in OK standards for eating but I wouldn't bring a big party there either. Overall - 3.25 - In my heart I know Zpizza is a 4 plus star establishment! But I always review and give the average. Add or subtract stars where you see fit. Thank-you and I look forward to re-evaluating when I have delivery to work.
(3)Ian L.
Bland. Just very, very bland. Nothing had any flavor. Took a ton of salt, garlic powder, onion powder and parmesan cheese to make it taste like anything.
(1)Alexis F.
Great pizza...I love that it's fresh tasting and isn't greasy. Delivery time was about average...45 mins on a Saturday evening. I like the fact you can order online...makes it easy.
(4)Katharine G.
This place has gone downhill over the summer. It was my regular go-to pizza delivery place but the last couple of times were bad enough to say never again. Sometimes they don't get your order right but you take the pizza anyway because you don't want to wait 1-1/2 hours to get the correct one. Last time, it was truly bad; somehow they gave me the whole wheat crust which was awful. Other times, the pizza is overcooked. I'm looking for a new pizza delivery place. Sigh...
(2)Peter Z.
Very average pizza for the area.
(3)Mark G.
Absolutely the worst customer service! Save yourself the hassle and go to one of the many other high end and much friendlier pizza places in Arlington.
(1)Cynthia C.
We ordered two pizzas - plain cheese for the kids and a vegan one for us. I was kind of hoping this would be my new healthier option pizza fix for busy nights, but the pizzas were very mediocre in my opinion. I would have been equally happy with an Amy's or Kashi frozen pizza, and I would've spent a lot less. If I were pressed for something positive to say, I'd say it's great that they have Daiya vegan cheese for cheesy vegan pizza and I like the thin crust. Pizzas were delivered - no longer hot, so possibly that influenced our opinion as well. Not worth the price/wait for our family
(2)Andrew L.
I used to order from this place rather regularly when I lived in NoVA, and it was usually pretty tasty. It's a year later, I'm visiting friends, we decide to go in for a pie. I ordered a large plain cheese pizza. You would think that a pizza place would be able to manage such a basic order. But what we received was a brown toasted cheese abomination, the taste of which was reminiscent of vomit. I'd pass on this location.
(1)Liz C.
Z Pizza is a cute little pizza place with different types of pizzas. They have very thin crusts, which I prefer, and their flavor combinations are all on point. I've tried several of their pizzas, but my favorites are the Provence and Curry Chicken. Other people seem to prefer the Pear & Gorgonzola (it's definitely not a typical pizza, so try it if you're adventurous). I don't like strong cheeses so the gorgonzola throws me off. I've also tried one of their salads, but it isn't anything special. Go for the pizza! Maybe I just like this place because they gave me a free cookie once, and I'm easy to please. But really though, this a good place to grab a bite to eat!
(4)Sarah S.
Not too shabby considering the list of competitors in and around DC: 2 Amys, Pupatella, Matchbox, Posto, etc. While Z does not hold a candle to those particular joints, it does hold its own. Hell, it's better than Pizzeria Paradiso in my opinion! If you want a no-frills, down-to-earth pizza place - that will cost you practically nothing - then ZPizza will be worth your time. Plus, they have an awesome daily lunch special: Two large slices of pie, plus a fountain drink for 5 bucks. It's a nice little deal. The napoli is my personal favorite, complete with garlic, parmesan, nicely roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and a hint of basil. And, those of you who are weight-conscious can venture towards the rustico pizzas - half the calories/fat of a regular pizza - currently on promo for buy one, get one. I would recommend the pear/gorgonzola combo or the Moroccan (with eggplant, feta, pesto, and onions). Check Z out if you are strapped for time and/or cash, or if you aren't that picky/snobbish when it comes to pizza.
(3)Katie G.
Sorry, but yuck. The dough is awful. The people were nice though.
(2)Connor T.
As newbies to the South Arlington area, one of the struggles we've had is in finding suitable places to eat out or order from. Yes, Arlington is littered with many great restaurants and local dives, but not many Gluten-Free alternatives. So for us zpizza and their Gluten-Free pizzas are a god send. Not only are they the best Gluten Free pizzas we've come across in North America, but they also deliver. The Gluten Free crust is as close to normal Pizza crust as it gets and the toppings are amazing. A definite must for anyone dealing with Celiac Disease.
(5)Hilary J. A.
Absolute worst experience I've ever had from a pizzeria. I would have ordered papa john's if I knew this was what I was getting. It took over an hour for it to be delivered and it was cold when it arrived. I think the worst part about it was the chicken. You know that nasty Purdue pre-cooked chicken you can buy at the grocery store? It made that taste like it was the most amazing chicken I've ever eaten. I almost felt like I ate a chunk of fatty uncooked lunch meat..I will NEVER order from this place again. They did offer us a free pizza since it was so late but I honestly don't think I will use it. Oh yea, and I can't get my free pizza delivered because it's free and they will enforce their $15 dollar minimum on my "free" pizza that I received for this terrible experience. Not worth it.
(1)Lindsay D.
Good quality ingredients. Usually takes upwards of an hour for delivery. Good pizza but not great. Kind of pricey. I usually only order when they do their buy one get one free deal.
(3)Ryan W.
A nice alternative to Papa Johns or Pizza Boli. We ordered online for delivery. They said delivery would take about 40-50 minutes and they were exactly right. We ordered a Provence pizza - a pre-made selection with tomatoes, basil, artichoke hearts, and capers. We also added the recommended chicken sausage. The option for traditional or whole wheat crust was nice - we chose the whole wheat. It was quite good and a nice change of pace from your standard delivery pizza.
(4)Kristy G.
I LOVE this place! They do have different pizza choices compared to the normal pizza place, but that's what I like about it. You can get organic tomato sauce, soy cheese, lots of veggies and whole grain pizza crust. If you are looking for a healthier pizza, this is the place! I put my order in online and went to pick it up and it was a smooth and quick process!
(5)Paul S.
I was impressed with the pizza I ordered from Z Pizza. Cheese and sauce were very fresh and tasty. The overall quality was definitely a step above the Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Listranis, Armands and Vocellis of the area. The Italian Store still has the best slice in Arlington in my book. But from a delivery standpoint Z Pizza is right at the top of the heap with Lost Dog.

Over 2 hours later, I get a cold pizza and the run around from whoever answers the phone. Not going to order from ZPizza ever again. I suggest you don't either.

For all you gluten-free people out there, give their gf pizza a try i did and i thought it was pretty good, actually wasn't sure i could taste the difference, but like to hear what others think

I really like all of the specialty pizzas here. The Thai pizza and Mexican pizzas especially. My main beef is their staff. I think they hire the dumbest laziest people and give them little to no training. Multiple times I've called ahead to order carryout and been told to call back because they were "too busy, computer was broken, someone at the register, etc." and then ended up driving there to order, driving home to wait while they made the pizza and then back to pick it up (I lived pretty close). Also one time I went to pick up my pizza only to find that they had accidentally sent it out with the delivery person so I had to wait or go home while they made a new one (kind of defeats the point of calling ahead to order). Although they did give me $10 off when that happened but it was still obnoxious.

Disappointing (and expensive!). Pizza was bland, despite having sausage on it . Toppings were scarce, and the crust was flat.. Save money and fetch your pizza elsewhere.
(1)Sam N.
im not sure if this is right location, but YUMMY! we first had it at a birthday party and it wasnt just pizza, but a meal! i love the ZBBQ and the Mexican. doesnt even taste like pizza. if you're looking for NYstyle pizza, this isnt it, but if you want something fresh, tasty AND filling, than try this spot. it is pricey but i look at it not as pizza but as a meal - and the price fits what i would go out and spend on a meal!
(5)Johan B.
having eaten at 3 or 4 zpizza's in the northern va area, i was a little bit underwhelmed by the quality of the pie from this shop. the pizza was overcooked and the crust burned, and quite a bit harder than what i'm used to getting at zpizza. outside of that the pizza was pretty good. its definitely a better choice than what domino's, papa john's, pizza hut etc have to offer any day of the week.

Finally a good pizza place in DC. Light years beyond anything else in the area. I recommend the kalamata olives!

If you haven't tried their Berkley Vegan Pizza yet, you've been missing out. My boyfriend and I are hooked on it. The ingredients are so fresh and evenly placed around the pizza. This last time I had avocado added to my XL Berkley and there was a good slice of avocado on each piece of pizza for just 2.25 extra. The best part? The vegan Italian sausage! I could eat it on everything, it's so good. I'm hoping they add more vegan deliciousness to their menu soon! Oh and delivery is always pretty quick, too.
(5)Nick M.
My first time to zPizza...impressed. Super friendly staff, delicious pizza, made perfectly with fresh toppings! $19 for a XL pie is a good deal! They seems to have all kinds of creative items on their menu. Next time i will try something different. I've heard great things about them and i finally got to try them, they sure have lived up to their reputation. I will definitely be back for more!

Pizza is no doubt freshly made to order in this small pizza shop with 2 tables and a few high stools. Not welcoming for a huge party, but it's good for a quick bite.... And for me, I consider the small pizza a quick bite. Order whatever you want, including gluten free crust or vegan cheese to keep it dairy free and sort of Paleo? Ha ha... Not really. If you're eating pizza, you are not really being too healthy, so go all the way and add all the toppings. They have some fresh tomatoes and zucchini. The sauce tastes sweetened, and the dough is more like flatbread a la California, from where this chain hails.... It'll do if you are in Washington in Arlington and don't want to deal with crazy lines and traffic. Fresh but mediocre in flavor and choice of fresh veggies.
(3)Ariel E.
I love pizza. I've never met a pizza I didn't like. At a mere 110 lbs, I can devour an entire large pizza any day, any time, any where... except here. My husband and I both had one slice of our Napoli pizza and walked away from the box. I ended up grilling some chicken breast and broccoli. So, I guess, thank you Zpizza for encouraging us to eat healthier.
(1)Nino L.
Came in to get pizza and it was made in an instant. Great service and great quality. The staff is friendly especially the cashier. We were given cups for soda, very, very nice of them to do. The atmosphere feels great, friendly, and welcoming. Overall awesome.

I ordered from ZPizza on Sunday, and was pleasantly surprised. I opted to pick up the pizza myself, and it was ready and being boxed in exactly 30 minutes - right as I walked up to the counter. I ordered the Casablanca pizza and the ZBQ Chicken pizza - both with gluten free crust. The Casablanca - amazing. This pizza was the perfect balance of cheeses, and had the tang from the artichoke without being too salty. The crust was just the right thinness for the white pizza style. The ZBQ - good, but not as good. I loved how many vegetables (nice tomato slices, onions, and roasted red pepper) there were, and I liked that the pizza wasn't too heavy on the BBQ sauce. My only issues - the chicken had a few soft (fatty) pieces that I had to take off, and I had asked for no cilantro, but it came with cilantro that I had to pick off. Overall, these are some of the better gluten free pizzas I've had in the area - the crust is crisp yet doughy in the middle, and reheats very well. I'll definitely go back!

Teeny tiny pizza shop with four tables located in a little strip mall on Washington Blvd. Watch out, the drive in from 66 meanders along and at a fork, you lose Washington. Keep going on 13th and you'll eventually find Washington -- keep a sharp eye. Used a Groupon, and while I readily admit that I don't love pizza, I was in the mood for a freshly made organic pie. That's exactly what I got too! Ordered a small (big enough for two) Thai pizza. Took a long time, but I kept reminding myself that it was freshly made for me. Chicken chunks topped mozzerella and shaved carrots, peanut sauce, red onions, cilantro and bean sprouts made it "Thai." Very good taste, however being the "condiment kid," I would have put lots more of the toppings to make it awesome. Asked for some extra peanut sauce and sprinkled lots of red pepper, and that was good enough. Ordered a Mediterranian flat bread to go too, and while I haven't touched it, same goes for this item -- could use lots more of the toppings for my tastes. zPizza has 14 Va locations -- good little shop, far better than the greasy slop you get at other traditional shops!!
(3)Tara F.
lovely staff but the pizza is just ok; lots of cheese but little sauce
(2)Karen L.
Can you really taste a difference? Yes. We ordered the Napoli and it was fantastic -- everything tasted fresh: *red* tomatoes, basil, the cheese, the non-greasy crust. The pear-gorgonzola salad was also incredibly fresh and crisp. Great customer service, too. We unknowingly arrived 20 minutes after closing with a Groupon that expired in 3 days. They whipped out the pizza and salad for us anyway.
(4)Adam E.
Great pizza! made with non-processed ingredients. One of the few places in arlington where you can find this combination. Staff are friendly and if you are close by ordering online is super easy.
(5)Ben W.
I wanted to be really excited about this pizza place, as I have found a couple of really good places in the DC Area (Two Amy's and the little-known Vace) and this was mere blocks away from my house, so I approached this with an open mind and an empty stomach. All I can say about the pizza was 'meh'. Thai Chicken Pizza, when done right, should have really well seasoned chicken, a nice zing in the peanut sauce, crisp carrots, and just enough cilantro to tell you its there. None of these elements were terrible on my Zizza, but somehow the whole combination just didn't make me want to do it again. Its also somewhat pricey unless you happen upon one of their deals, so if you're one of those crazy people who thinks that overpriced food is automatically more delicious (does your coffee cup say 'Starbucks'?), then you'll love Z. If you're like me and you depend on taste, you'll probably just wait until you have someone to visit in NW DC to go get pizza again.

A few months ago I went home and had this life changing pizza experience involving a truffle oil pizza. So when I saw Zpizza's Tuscan Mushroom on the menu, I had to try it. I figured it wouldn't be as good as that life changing pizza, but I couldn't rest until I knew for sure. The pizza was okay, but it did have a few issues. Those caramelized onions, wow, holy sweetness, I've never had caramelized onions *that* sweet before. It kind of took over the whole flavor of the pizza. I'd probably get it without the onions next time. I wasn't a huge fan of their crust, it was a nice thin crust, but a little bland. I also got a Zbq pizza, which had a lot more chicken on it than I anticipated - instead of just a few random chunks it was stacked up in a little wall a good half inch high all around the pizza. I ordered online and delivery was fast - under 25 minutes. Zpizza isn't my new favorite pizza delivery joint, but they are definitely a step up from Dominos or Pizza Hut.
(3)Beth M.
The location in Arlington is around the corner from me, and I'm glad. Their online interface is terrific ... it's easy to make substitutions or additions to your choices. And yes, they are a pizza place (and I'm a fan of the tuscan mushroom or the curry chicken rustica), but they have great salads. The ZBQ salad featuring BBQ chicken is a great deal, and the arugula salad is great if you're a fan of alternative greens. Add to this the sandwiches (I like both the tuna and turkey), the calzones, and the low cost of delivery, and for me, this is definitely worth a look.
(4)Lindsay P.
So I've had the menu for Zpizza sitting in my apartment for weeks, and last night I had a craving for some out-of-the-ordinary pizza. On my way home from the gym, my fiance called and ordered two individual pizzas for us. His was original crust, red sauce, mozzarella, sausage, and pepperoni. Mine was wheat crust, red sauce, ricotta, chicken breast, arugula, and carmelized onions. Well, it was SUPPOSED to have carmelized onions--but when the pie arrived, they were absent. Neither one of our pies had enough sauce, and my chicken was unseasoned and fairly dry. The ricotta was plopped in huge heaps on top of the other toppings, making it difficult to get a balanced mouthful of pizza. Not exactly the pizza I was dreaming of. All in all, we both ate two slices (we were hungry! I'd just biked for half an hour!) and trashed the rest. Won't be ordering from them again.
(2)Ami L.
Consistently good pizza. Any time I have had a problem I call or email the manager and it is always resolved immediately an graciously. We order from here a lot so occasionally there is a mix up. Majority I the time it is great and the pizzas can all be customized online!
(4)Lee F.
What happened to this place?! We always loved ordering from Z Pizza, but tonight's pizzas showed up all wrong, the delivery guy tried to dash off before I caught him to send the order back, and when we finally got our pizzas ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES LATER, all the manager could say was that he would comp us a free salad next time. Seriously? The hungry boys at my house waiting for the pizzas were not impressed!
(2)Donald P.
I'd rather give two stars but in the end, the pizza did taste good, just expensive. $23 including tip for a 14" pizza, that took and hour to get here. And there web interface is only ok; I wasn't quite sure at what point it would tell me that I wasn't in their delivery area. It didn't help the experience that my bank added a temporary $3 charge to the ticket.
(3)Holly P.
it's a pizza joint, not a fancy / gourmet restaurant. that being said, it was great. my family and I only had time to grab a piece of pizza off the warming tray and even it, not 'freshly' made, was fantastic. My kids had plain cheese, because they are kids ;-) it was great. My husband and I had something with white sauce, ricotta cheese, artichokes (there was more on there but those three things are what 'made' the pizza, so it's all I remember) dude, it rocked. we came here because we were pressed for time but needed to eat and it was perfect! (they even had a table, in their super small dining room, to fit our family of six!) the place was in a run down shopping center but was updated and clean inside. loved the vegan/organic/gluten free theme!

I ordered from this new location strictly because I had a coupon for a free 10" pizza. Calling ahead for pickup was a real ordeal. I spoke to two or three different people and, after repeating my order several times, I nearly gave up on the entire outing. Finally, everything was straightened out, one 10" Greek for free and one 10" Italian for $10. The restaurant is a cramped little space in an inconvenient strip on a high traffic stretch of Washington Blvd. I wouldn't suggest dining in unless you happen to be walking through the neighborhood. Finally, the pizza itself? Mehhh. The crust and the toppings, although very sparse, had a pretty good taste. The Italian was absolutely drenched in pesto. The Greek could have used about twice as many toppings. This review is almost as boring as my first experience with Zpizza. It wasn't a bad experience, but I'm not going back.
(2)Sugar B.
Every time we have ordered Zpizza we have enjoyed it. We must not be alone as when ordering today we realized the result of them already being slammed with orders. Although the delivery took longer than anticipated we are happy to have our Zpizza goodness arrive. The pizzas are unique and delicious.

My piece of sh*t car decided to not start - for the 5th time in 6 months - again and this time in Rockville. A failed attempt to jump start, a call to AAA, a long wait and a jump start from the towing guy later, I was able to get my car to the mechanic's lot back in Arlington. My plans for the evening were shifted due to this unforeseen turn of events and I was starving. I had a coupon for a free 10" pizza from Zpizza on my fridge and now was the perfect time to redeem it. Free is good considering that I will be pouring more money into the black hole that is my car soon enough. I called in my order for the Tuscan Mushroom pizza, a white pizza with 3 types of 'shrooms and caramelized onions, hold the feta. I was told to swing by in 30-35 minutes. Since I was without car, and in a foul mood, my friend was nice enough to take me to pick up my dinner and eat over at his place. I arrive at Zpizza about 40 minutes after placing my call. There's a customer in front of me and a cashier is pushing buttons intently on the computer screen. What seems like an eternity later, the cashier apologized for messing up his order and that a new pizza was cooking and it would be ready in 10 minutes and he processed a refund. He finally gets to me and I redeem my coupon. He says he needs another 3 minutes. He talks to the cooks and I hear "sin feta" a few times. I have retained very little of the 6 years of Spanish I took but I retained enough to know that he was saying "without feta" and referring to my order. The 3 minutes turns into 10 minutes. I finally get my pizza and the owner hands it to me. I say, "There's no feta on this, correct?". He opens it up and there's feta so he said they grabbed the wrong pizza. I'm thinking it will be a quick switcheroo but the truth is they screwed up my pizza and were rushing to cook up another one. I exchanged a few pleasantries with this girl who was waiting at one of the tables. She had been waiting 40 minutes and when her pizza finally came, they refunded her. Another customer came in and they gave him the wrong salad dressing. It was issue after issue after issue. The best part was when one of their delivery boys came in and was not in a good mood. He was ranting about something and then I overhead him ask snidely "How many refunds have we given out tonight?". As entertaining as it was to witness what a cluster f*ck this place is, I felt terrible that my friend was waiting for me for 20 minutes already. I was visibly upset at this point and I asked the owner again how long the pizza was going to take since I called it in an hour ago. The response was 3 minutes. He offered me a free soda to which I declined. I eventually got my pizza after a full wait time of 25 minutes. The owner apologized incessantly but it didn't seem sincere. I'm still appalled that this restaurant operates in this fashion. The pizza was good but after this experience, it's going to take a whole lot more than the promise of good pizza to get me to return. If all they do is screw up and have to issue refunds to customers, they're not going to last very long anyways.

This place only gets 2.5 stars because by the time that pizza is delivered and in my hands, it just isn't that good. Perhaps the driver is taking his time? Maybe the preparation has become sloppy? You know you're falling off when you can compare them to Dominos and Pizza Hut. At least those come hot and crispy.

There are 2 review threads for the same location of ZPizza. Since this one has more reviews, I'll add here. ZPizza is one of the chains that sprung up during the California pizza boom in the mid 80's. This location is still less than a year old. I ordered a small takeout Santa Fe and Jhon (at least that's what the receipt said) told me it would be less than 20 mins. We went next door to 7-11 to get some soda and candy for dessert to kill the wait. A dining (and life) pet peeve is people giving estimates and guarantees out of their ass. 20 mins came and went, even with Jhon coming by to say 'it would only be five more minutes'. I would've preferred "Sorry we are running behind, your pizza is third in line" A few people started coming in to pick up carryout orders. None of these orders were ready on time (some not even started) so havoc was created in the tiny parking lot shared with El Charrito and a tobacco store. People were double parked and waiting on Washington Blvd to get in. Luckily we had to wait so long that most of the congestion cleared out when we finally got our pizza. The funniest thing I've seen all weekend was a guy who had just finished dining in. Some girl in a Kappa Delta shirt waiting for her carry-out was blocking him in. He asked her politely to move but Jhon has just told her that her pizza was coming right up. She told the guy she would move in a minute. I felt bad because 1. the guy had just ended up dining alone (TABLE FOR ONE), 2. had eaten ZPizzza (more on that soon), and 3. couldn't leave because KD here didn't want her pizza to sit idle for the 30 seconds it would've taken for her to move the car. 5 minutes later, her pizza still wasn't ready and he came back in to tell her to get her ass in gear. 35 minutes after ordering, I got my pizza and was on my way. Upon opening the box and seeing the history of Zpizza printed in there, I realized I had eaten there a long time ago in Orange County. The second thing I saw was my pizza - obviously. I remembered my first ZPizza Santa Fe being a tasty array of chopped onions and tomatoes, like a quesadilla come pizza. This pie was like someone had dropped some tomatoes and onions straight from the toppings bar at Subway onto a Boboli crust. Instead of sprinkled corn on a pizza, I felt like I just ate an entire can of Green Giant niblets with a sprinkling of crust. Not really worth the $10 I paid or time spent getting it (which also caused me to miss the first half of The Simpsons) I don't recommend it (especially when you have the heavenly El Charrito next door), but if you do, call way ahead, park in the 7-11 lot, and tip in cash (after a half hour I almost contemplated asking Jhon to take the tip off my receipt). I could've driven to Harris Teeter, bought a better CPK frozen pizza, gone home and baked it in less time than this.

The made-to-order pizza is yummy. Can't say much for the ready-made, by the slice pizza. The sandwiches are really good, too. I'm partial to the Pollo Latino - lime-marinated chicken, lettuce, fresh salsa and avocado. Comes on a white-sub roll - probably around 8 inches. The ingredients are consistently fresh.
(4)Becky C.
I love Zpizza! They have a great selection of fresh ingredients, including Daiya (vegan) cheese! Not only are the pizza delicious, but the staff is really friendly. I have nothing by great things to say about Zpizza!
(5)Carlos R.
Great pizza & delivery! Beats all other pizza places in the area.
(4)Milan R.
Ok, this was my first time here and most likely it would be my last. My first gripe is with folks behind the counter : They seemed more interested in engaging in inane jokes among themselves than taking orders ! Now for the food : In a place like N.Arlington that is dotted with decent sandwich/pizza places, zpizza has no place. I ordered a veggie sandwich and a slice of cheese pizza. My friend ordered a 'greek pizza'. Sandwich was hard as a nail, and tasted just like any other sandwich with some cucumbers and tomatoes. Pizza : It is skinny, burnt at the base ( and i mean burnt to a burnt taste crisp! ), and chewy. The greek pizza was equally bad with several unidentifiable objects on it and tasted like athletes foot! All in all, for the same price i'd go to 'Goodys' anyday. Their sandwiches are so much better as are their pizzas. In a county that has Amys, Pupatella,Italian Store and Goodys, zpizza has no place.

It's alright. I tried ZPizza solely because of the 2-for-1 coupon deal that they send out. For $9-something a pop, that makes it worth it. But I certainly would never pay full price. It's cool that they're going for the whole organic and healthy thing, but the pizza should be good by any objective standard as well. We ordered two pizzas: the ZBQ and the Berkeley Vegan (note, no vegans were involved, we were just curious and we like that sort of thing). In both cases, my main objection was to the crust. It wasn't either a soft, chewy crust or a thin crisp crust, but rather one of those sad specimens that ends up caught in the no-man's-land between the two. It was white and pasty in color, with a glossy, leathery exterior as if someone had taken to it with a can of spray acrylic in lieu of baking it. Despite the coloration implying that it hadn't really been cooked, it was quite tough. I've never been one of those people who doesn't eat the outer crust, not even when I was five years old, but in this case I was hard-pressed to find a reason why I'd want to do so. The bottom crust also presented issues in that it was rather unsubstantial. It was completely incapable of keeping the slice together during eating, but instead just wilted down and let all the toppings run right off when the slices were picked up. Despite all of these structural issues, the flavors were spot on. The ZBQ had good quality chicken, roasted corn, and fresh basil. The barbecue sauce was not sickeningly sweet, as is the downfall of many a barbecue pizza, but complemented the toppings without overpowering them. The Vegan was also quite delicious, with fresh vegetables and soy sausage crumbles that tasted great. I was most impressed with their choice of vegan cheese for this one. I expected blobby chunks of gelatinous soy cheese, completely incapable of melting. Instead, they went with a creamier product that acted more like goat cheese, spreading out into a sort of second sauce, almost like a white pizza. Good flavor as well. Overall, good for something different, and a good value if you have a deal.

New ownership. They are terrible, terrible businessmen and put zero into their quality of pizza or customer service. Overpriced and awful. Do not eat here. There are plenty of good places to eat in Arlington. Buy from a pizzeria run by Americans, they might actually care about their reputation since they assimilate with the community.

I was there on the evening of 12/09/2010 for one of their specials that they occasionally have, this one was for a free Rustica pizza. These are supposed to be "gourmet" oval shaped pizzas. I ordered a Mediterranean Rustica. I placed my order online with the online coupon code. When I went to get my pizza, the manager refused to give it to me because I did not print out the coupon (didnt say anything anywhere about printing the coupon if the online code is used). So I drove 5 miles back home, printed the coupon, and went back to the store. The pizza was TERRIBLE-- one of the worst I have ever had. Absolutely no flavor. Tasted like cardboard. No sauce. Two small slices of green pepper, a couple of olive slices, scattered cheese, and nothing else. I guess you get what you pay for......
(1)Krissy R.
I got a coupon in the mail for buy one get one free pizza, so we ordered the napoli and the Thai pizza. We also ordered the arugula salad with walnuts and shaved parmesan. Everything was really good. They were delivered promptly and the crust was crispy. I didn't give it 5 stars because the pizza was a little bit soggy. All in all, I would order from here again because of the unique options and the great service.
(4)Sahar B.
Amazing pizza! This is coming from an ex New Yorker! The chicken sausage is so good and so much better than any pig product! I would definitely recommend it and Ive gone back many many times!
(5)Jennifer M.
If I had never been here before and just read the reviews I would never had tried it! Luckily that is not the case. This is my favorite pizza place by FAR! I have a NAKED pizza in walking distance from my place and I still drive to get Zpizza because it is that good! This pizza is the best because it isn't oily and the cheese and crust is perfect! It is also very accommodating for those people with allergies. I recently found out I have a wheat allergy and they make a gluten free pizza which is fantastic! Also, all the healthy ingredients makes it great for the health conscious. I lost a significant amount of weight all while I was still eating Zpizza every other week! The manager Kevin is also extremely friendly and efficient. Sy is my favorite delivery guy!! He is so nice and always remembers me! If you have had a bad experience in the past here I would give it another shot because under this new management it is a whole lot better!!

i am the happiest girl ever. vegan reviewer. i love pizza, but everywhere i've gone over the last few weeks has been awful. i've had my order messed up so many times and the last place i went, even after they got it right it was so bad i got a full refund. so.. my expectations are low. and given i'm vegan, if you can slap some tomato sauce with some veggies on bread and not screw it up, i'm pretty happy. but wait.. vegan cheese? and the easiest online ordering system ever? yes please! i got exactly what i ordered, even with a half and half pizza order and it was GOOD!! and not only vegan cheese, but vegan burger crumbles on top too! whoohooo!! i will not be ordering pizza anywhere else.
(5)Glenn R.
Options are great but there is something lacking in flavor.
(2)April I.
I ain't afraid of peanut sauce!! With that in mind we ordered the Thai pizza, the American pizza, the bread sticks, and the baked apple pizza dessert. YES we were hungry and there was a group of us needing to graze before we headed into the city. ZPizza didn't disappoint. I loved the Thai pizza. With a light peanut sauce, spicy chicken, red onions and carrots, bean sprouts and chilis you can't go wrong. I wasn't super impressed with the American pizza mostly because it was a bit heavier and as much as I loved the crust with the Thai pizza it couldn't hold up to all of the ingredients of the American Pizza. The bread sticks were...well they were bread sticks with bits of melted cheese. Nothing to write home about, but not terrible either. I really liked the baked apple pizza. Glazed apple slices baked on that delicious crust. mm good.

This is a great place for good pizza it's awesome there menu has alot of organic things so if you want good pizza good service this is the place also there sandwiches are great
(5)Zoe T.
Thai pizza is the only way to go. If you go with a run of the mill pizza (peperoni, cheese, etc) you will be disappointed. Those pizzas are not very good. But if you stick to their specialty pizza, the dough is amazing and the flavors are awesome. I crave Thai pizza all the time.
(5)Alison S.
After hearing nothing but really good things from all of our friends about Z pizza, we decided to give it a try. We went for lunch and the manager, Mike, was extremely friendly to us and it was clear that he wanted us, as well as all of his customers, to have a very positive experience at Z pizza. I got the bbq chicken salad, which was delicious. And my fiance got the pizza and soda deal for $5. We also ordered breadsticks which aren't on the menu, but are amazing... They were crispy, cheesy and garlicky, and they come with marinara for dipping. Get some of the chipotle ranch on the side to dip too and you will not be sorry! We're moving to California, but if not for our move, we'd be regulars at Z.
(5)Antoin M.
After a couple bad service experiences when zpizza first arrived in the DC area they got their act together. The pizza is quite good when it arrives warm. A go-to for easy ordering and good healthy-seeming pizza and salads.
(3)Amanda G.
Im not vegan or gluten free, but I bought the groupon because it was a good deal and went last night. I ordered the Mexican pizza and ate in the small dining room. The pizza wasnt great, bland and dry, the dough had no flavor. The place is located in a tiny rundown strip mall, easy to drive passed without noticing, and there were some shady characters coming and going. I probably won't eat here again.
(2)Beegls R.
Gluten Free pizza is not easy to find. They have really decent gluten-free crust, available only in small. I build my own pizza--organic tomato sauce, artichoke hearts, arugula, fresh rounds of tomatoes, capers, feta cheese, oregano and a little parmesan. My husband builds his own: cheese pizza on wheat crust. We have only taken out--never dined in. Love it, have ordered twice in a two-week period.
(4)Kate B.
This is written solely as the "pizza pick up" person, so I have no comment on the quality of the pizza itself (although my party reports it was underwhelming, and more than half of the "small" pie is left over). The waiting area is cramped and hot, and the manager cheerily tells you that you have "five minutes left!" until your pizza is ready, which seems like great news until your pizza is ready about 20 minutes later. Parking is very limited too, and there was mass chaos inside as several customers had double-parked and blocked other customers in. When one customer got asked to move her car so that another customer could pull out, she sheepishly replied that her pizza was going to be ready in one minute. After ten minutes, she defeatedly moved her car. Pretty much sums it up.
