This little hole in the wall is amazing. The food is so delicious and comes in huge portions. You will leave happy. Especially if you get the mojito.

I'm going to make this short and sweet. The style of Tostones was amazing, nice crumbly cheese. This place gets a 5 for 2 reasons: 1.Server was very nice and friendly 2. The Silpancho meal is huge. Like...mega freaking OMG, how?! Wha?! This is crazy! Is all I thought...and how was I to conquer this? I kid you not, it is a breaded flat steak the size of an ultimate frisbee! And Ultimate it was. I can't wait to go back and bring a friend to toss around the ol meat frisbee.

Ugh! Techno blip! We love Sibarita! When you need to decompress, Sibarita is the perfect place. The service is relaxed, the menu is so awesome and diverse. The menu items may not look familiar, but be adventurous and read the terrific descriptions. The staff is so willing to make adjustments to menu items- and the food is just awesome and very healthy. There are always large family groups and they always seem to fit without being squished. Their happy hour specials are so good you have to remember that the meals are substantive! If you're looking for something new, delicious, fun, and reasonably priced, you must try Sibarita. Yum!

Talk about finding a gem in the rough! Atmosphere is lively, colorful, and banana leaves on the ceiling fans :) Food is excellent. We love the Planchita (you won't eat it all, so make an omelette the next morning). Drink specials are decent. Mojitos are wonderful with fresh mint. The owner is a young entrepreneur and we love to support local businesses. Service is good, but our last visit had two other tables and our drinks took 10-15 minutes. Try Sibarita!

I was visiting Arlington for work and figured I would look for something unique to blur the misery of cross country middle row coach seats. This place was all I had hoped for and more. The staff were practically tripping over one another to provide superb service, which was served with smiles usually reserved for close friends or family. When my entree arrived I thought "that is a crispy looking tortilla", only to find that it was a delicious, tender piece of beef pounded atomically thin. Amazing. And delicious. My hat is off to the chef, which I would state openly even if he wasn't so clearly gifted at crushing things into delicious oblivion. I highly recommend this gem!

A meat tornado in my mouth! Incredible food, friendly service, and totally affordable prices. Muy rico! Btw this pic is me halfway through my plate. I couldn't finish it all- lunch tomorrow!

I am an extremely picky customer and I just have to say this place NEVER fails to satisfy. It's so affordable and definitely worth every penny. My favorite is the Silpancho which my son and I can't seem to get enough of. After tax it's $13 and it's usually enough for the next day as well. Great service great food, cute environment. Must go to place!

For starters, we walked in about 20 minutes before closing (I hate being those people, but we were in the middle of moving and starving!). We asked if it was a problem coming in so close to the end of the night and we were told that it was no problem, and it seemed very genuine. We sat outside in their outdoor patio. Really pretty at night with string lights. We were pretty inquisitive about the menu, since we had never been there before and our waiter helped us pick out some fan favorites to try. We ordered one of the platters to share, which was only $25 and it was so much food! It came with chorizo, steak, pork, rice, plantains, fresh grilled veggies, and a tomato salsa which was incredible! Everything was simple yet tasted great. Great food, great service, nice outdoor meal on a summer night. We had enough for dinner and enough for both of us to eat the next day! We found out about this place as we were moving out of Arlington. Really wish we knew about it sooner, but we will make the trip back just for this place!

Came here for the first time today, because we purchased a groupon. Service and food were excellent. Both servers were extremely friendly and explained some of their specials. The food came out super fast. We tired the silpancho and the lomo a la chorellena. The spicy green sauce was delicious! Will definitely be returning! If you are looking for some good Bolivian food and some good hospitality come here.

We really liked this place. Great service, great food, and reasonable prices. We enjoyed the outdoor seating, even with a little rain. They played great music on their sound system.

Just learned about this place from a friend and visited last night for drinks and dinner. It was an amazing experience, just great service and delicious food! I will be a regular from now on.

Not a fancy place. Decently clean. I had a very good sandwich called choripan. The meat was chorizo and the combination of dressing and condiments made this outstanding.

Awesome 'Hole in the Wall' The portions are fantastic. Food is seasoned perfectly Service was amazing Parking is limited so park on street if lot looks full. Just keep in mind the place is not as fancy or as trendy as other places in Arlington but the food is what you come for.

I am in DC as a student from Bolivia, and this is the first time I had Bolivian food in seven months. Both my stomach and soul were fed with the hefty portions and well-balanced tastes. While authentic, do not be afraid to give it a shot even if you have never had Bolivian food before. I brought two of my friends, and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The service itself reflects Bolivian culture, as those who attend you are very genuinely friendly and warm. Like I said, feeds both stomach and soul. Last thing, my friend says the mojitos are great here. Muchísimas gracias por la comida deliciosa y el servicio excelente :)

I stopped by Sibarita to meet a friend last week. Since backpacking Bolivia together about 8 months ago, we were looking forward to a little throwback meal. The place is teensy and located off the beaten path from Clarendon. Parking is a joke and it's a total hole in the wall but has its own charm. Decided to order the Silpancho and I thought it was better than the Silpancho I actually got in Bolivia. Although, the plate did cost about $1 in Bolivia and about $12 in the US, I'm sure the meat quality is better. The plate was huge and the eggs were a perfect over easy. My friend got the Silpancho wrap. It was enormous. And by enormous, I mean a Chipotle wrap would look like childs play next to this beast. The meal came with some fried plantain chips and salsa. The salsa was tasty if on the spicier side. The service was friendly if a bit slow, but since my friend and I were catching up, I hardly noticed. We also coincidentally stopped by during happy hour... I think the Dos Equis were $2 or $3. We sat outside since it was nice, but it was windy and the umbrellas kept flying out of the tables. We had to play dodge umbrella to avoid getting seriously impaled.

The sangria was amazing! Brenda the server was so nice. And funny....we liked her joke! We will definitely be back again. Went in with a groupon, and came out loyal guests! It was nice and quiet on a Tuesday night. The chicken was the best part, so much flavor! We ordered the meal for two. It was so much food, we both have lunch for tomorrow! See you soon!

Our first time trying this restaurant. First thing you see as you walk-in is a tiny space where the counter is and a small kitchen behind it. We asked the server for recommendations and told us to get the ff: Planchita, Silpancho and Chicharron de pollo. The Silpancho, I thought was unique in its presentation not to mention huge. It tasted like breaded pork skin(pork rinds) to me and still can't decide if I liked it or not. The Planchita was ok and is also a huge platter. While the Chicharron de pollo was too salty for me. The chicken tasted like maggi seasoning has been drenched all over it. Amongst the three, I would say I liked the Planchita, the most. I would come back to try the others on their menu.

That awkward moment when you walk into a mexican restaurant but they serve Bolevian. Food was delicious. Did not know what I was orderering but it was phenomenal. Brenda was a total sweetheart and kept the margs flowing.

First time trying this place, had the crappiest Saltenas I ever tasted in DMV area! It was SO dry and seemed like it was from a day or 2 ago ! Did not taste anything like Saltenas. Disappointed.

  • Ideen S.

The service was friendly, and it's a cozy, authentic hole-in-the-wall; but I'm pretty health conscious, so this place wasn't really to my liking. I started with the Alitas de Pollo (chicken wings). I wish I had known they were deep fried. Most people would enjoy this; but again, I'm eat more for nutrition than for taste. With the amount of dressing/dip they provide (at least on the side), this fried appetizer would probably deliver more calories (and not healthy ones) than 2 salads from a place liked Chop't. From the main menu, I ordered the Pincho Sibarita (skewered chicken, beef, shrimp, onions, and bell peppers with fried yuca and cabbage salad). The grilled vegetables were pretty good, but the meats were not good cuts. The yuca tasted good, but I'm pretty sure it's not just fried, but deep fried. And the cabbage salad had quite a bit of dressing directly on the salad, which I wasn't a fan of. If you're pretty health and food-is-fuel oriented, I don't think you'll have a better experience than I did. If taste is all that matters to you, it'll probably be pretty decent for you.

  • Dale R.

I have been there several times now and each time it gets better! I tried the plantains today and they were so fresh, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside! We ordered an extra side of them! I had the Chicken Kabobs today and they were the best I have had anywhere! Talk to the waiter, he is great at making recommendations based on your likes and will tell you what each dish is and what comes with it! He is the brother of the owner! They give you a bottle of chilled water, vs a glass of iced water and offered more! It is laid back and chill kinda place! It is not one of the top restaurants in the D.C. area but it is a nice local hangout worth checking out!

Fantastic Bolivian Food not pre-made... The selection of beers from Latin America like Paceña which perfectly compliments the delicious spicy food. The Parrillada was a huge hit with us. The meat quality, flavor and freshness was just mouth watering. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know, especially families. Great progressive Happy Hour! Hidden Gem (:

  • Alyssa A.

When you first walk in the door there is a bar and it seems as though to just be a take out place. After talking to the woman there you realize that there is a whole dining room in the back. I would classify this place as "Bolivian Dive Bar". If you are looking for solid, cheap, bolivian food and a divey bar setting I would recommend coming here. They give you great portions and its pretty cheap. They also have a progressive happy hour and the mojito i had from there i enjoyed. Don't expect too much. This place has a lot of character and if you're thinking about giving it a chance and want a cheap dinner. Why not?

  • Joshua L.

Seriously delicious cheap friendly local gem. Do yourself a huge favor and start going there as often as possible. The staff is so crazily nice and enthusiastic about the food that it really ups the experience. Silpancho is really tasty. The beer is cold. The staff wants you there. What more do you need?

Very good food, and a lot of it. The atmosphere is a old building that is very comfortable. Has a patio for outdoor eats and drinks, I will go again.

I have passed by this place a million times, but for some reason never went in. Purchased a groupon on a whim and went Saturday night with a buddy. Immediately upon entering, everyone from the kitchen staff to the busboys waved and said hello. We had reservations, but they were able to seat us early. The staff was super enthusiastic about the food- with good reason! We ordered the mini parrillada. Had a couple of beers with the delicious plantain chips and chili while we waited. When it arrived- holy crap- a mound of delicious meat! The sides were delicious and went perfectly with it- the tomato salad in particular was delicious. Our servers were super enthusiastic about the food, explaining everything during the meal, and it was so much fun seeing how proud they were of the restaurant. My buddy and I were both blown away by the food and the service- including the (totally welcome but unnecessary) complimentary dessert. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and I cannot wait to return. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The only thing I can recommend here is the Argentinian Parillada! Other than that I can't seem to find anything good in this place. I went to go have lunch with the family, I found a piece of hair in my Pique, I told the server, they had me waiting for about 10mins with no response. They seemed to find excuses other than to apologize and fix the problem. I had to get up and ask what they seemed to do. On top of that my aunts plate which was Silpancho, the egg was basically not done. After having lunch here the only thing I can say I enjoyed is the Inca Cola. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I wouldn't be recommending this place ever again!!!!!!

After living in Miami I'm no stranger to Latin Food, but Bolivian food was new to me so I was excited to try Sibarita. First impressions of this restaurant were, "Woah! this place is tiny. Is there a dining room!?" Yes there is, it's down a hallway and you can't tell from the front entrance. Service was friendly, but a little slow. Servings were very large and food all seemed fresh cooked, but I wasn't really impressed with anything except maybe those complimentary plantain chips. Yum! But beware of that salsa it comes with! Spicy doesn't even come close! I ordered the lomo montado and my favorite part was the fried egg. The marinated carne asada, tasted like the only marinade was copious amounts of black pepper and it was kinda chewy. My husband fared much better with the chicharons de pollo (fried chicken) with plantains. It was good, and not your usual fried chicken. I'm not sure I'd come back.

Saturday night. Very busy and loud. Poor service (ex: wine ordered before meal finally arrived mid-meal, after several reminders). Meat platter for four quite adequate, but cuts of meat not of high quality, however sides consisted of a small bowel of salad and a small bowel of fried potatoes......not nearly adequate for four people. Ordered more, and charged $3.75 for each smallish serving. Poor value, poor service.....don't go.

My favorite places to eat are always hole in the wall spots: not big on decor or price, but huge on the delicious; what they skimp on pleasantries they overcome in a memorable meal. This place falls in line with that. My only regret with this place is that I've lived so close for so long and didn't eat here earlier. Split a planchita with my buddy, and it was enough for two grown ass men to split. They also give you salted plantain chips with a very spicy salsa as an app. All delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked. Sausage was delicious. I'm Filipino, so I'm a sucker for rice served with an over easy egg on it and it goes with the meats perfectly. We also had some margaritas and they were strong (aka perfect). I read quite a few reviews heated about the service...the service was beyond nice and very pleasant. Not the fastest or most professional service, true, but I'm not at a white tablecloth, nose-up, restaurant. This is food cooked with some soul and love, served by real folk who are genuinely nice. I'd rather have a friendly, helpful, and slow server, than a "pro" that's more attentive but a dick/uppity. Relax you faux food critics; quit bitching about lack of expedient service and debating "mouth-feel." Talk to your dining partner, have a drink, and enjoy a delicious meal.

Hole in the wall full of Bolivians - check Hole in the wall prices - check 1. Brought out plantain chips and green salsa - great - looked and tasted homemade. 2. I ordered the Lapping and it was a large portion of meat and really flavorful. The corn was super starchy and lacking flavor.... maybe that's how it's done, idk. The fava beans were really tasty. The salad was fine but a bit too oniony. 3. My Dad ordered the Cordero a la Parrilla - his lamb was pretty tough and when mentioned to the waitress (when she asked how it was), she didn't have much to say (lol - not Americanized yet). His beet salad didn't include beets .... hello. His potato wedges were good. Portion of rice was large. I'd go back, as it's pretty authentic, but dishes seem like they might be a little hit or miss. I'd give them 3.5 stars if I could.

Walk away. Don't even bother. Food is delicious, but completely overpriced. Came for the $9 lunch special, left paying more than double. Never again. I ordered the spicy chicken with rice and corn soup. The food is very tasty, but ONE drumstick is supposed to be a complete lunch order? That's ridiculous. I added extra chicken to my order, and ended up paying close to $20 for lunch. Yep. $20 for a couple of chicken drumsticks (albeit, very tasty!), and rice and soup. Not acceptable. I live right around the corner, and will not be back. I'm really disappointed. People seemed to be really happy with this place and I was excited to give it a try. I love the fact there is a lady in the kitchen preparing all the food from scratch, but this is simply too expensive for what you get. I have enjoyed fine dining where they give you more than one drumstick for your meal. If you're considering this restaurant, move along. I wish I had.

Great hidden place in Arlington. Has ample seating and a wonderful staff. I split one of the BBQ platters with a friend and had the margaritas. The owner was even there to make sure everything was ok and he treated everyone in the restaurant with great courtesy. I highly recommend this place!

Went here last month for a Friday night dinner. Caught some world cup action while eating outside on their tiki dressed patio area - very humble, very cute. Casual service for a casual place. Don't expect anything in a hurry, but as long as you have the time it shouldn't be a problem. Hubs and I shared a plinchata platter that is a mix of meats of starches topped with fried eggs and rice - YUM! No frills about it. It is exactly as advertised and sometimes what the heart just wants. What was really great was saving the pepper sauce/salsa that comes with the plantain chips as an app...USE THE SAUCE FOR THE MEAT! What really made this worth our while were the fresh citrus cocktails - grapefruit crushes with fresh grapefruit juice changed my life. Felt bad for the waiter/bartender juicing all that citrus, but not bad enough to refrain from ordering more...

Sibarita is now one of my favorite establishments in the Arlington area! The food was very tasteful and the service was excellent! First off, my girlfriend and I went into the restaurant 30 min. before closing and they still welcomed us in with open arms and had no problem with us finishing our meal 20 min. after closing. Second, the interior as well as the outdoor seating area was well decorated and festive. They played a great soundtrack of all oldies slow jams while we ate. Lastly, all of the items we ordered were delicious and well prepared. We ordered the kernel appetizer with a fresh cheese ball. This simplicity of this dish is what makes it great, because it's healthy and not filling before your entrees. For dinner we ordered the Planchita, which came with tasty sautéed vegetables, yuca, plantain and well seasoned steak and sausage, and the Salpancho, which is a hammered down down piece of beef in a light breaded batter over rice and eggs with a tasty tomato vinaigrette dressing. This place is one of Clarendon's best hidden treasures and is must try.

Aside from the superb silpancho lamb burritos, the service at this fine establishment is remarkable. Get the parillada platters for sure. Carmen and Brenda make this place that's already full of character one of a kind. A true gem that is conveniently located near Clarendon and route 50. I come here on a weekly basis to get the freshest mojitos and the most exquisite lamb silpancho burrito I've ever experienced.

Amazing, affordable, delicious food, fantastic happy hour. Staff is friendly and extremely accomodating. They know me and I'm always greeted like a celebrity. Try a caiparinha and yuca and definitely order el pique macho! SO MUCH FOOD! (and very fresh).

1st time at this place, food was on point, I'm extremely picky about food , if you go here try "Sillpancho" they kept it authentic, just like eating in Bolivia.

I think this place is pretty solid, I came here for a later lunch and was pretty happy with what I found. I can't really rate the service because ours was good, but for 3:45p on a Thursday there were no other customers so I wouldn't expect anything less than good service. I really enjoyed the dish I ordered which was the Lomo Montado. I was surprised at the size of this dish. The steak was tender and fresh with two over easy eggs on top. I love the eggs, I've never had Bolivian food but many of their dishes seemed to have eggs included maybe they got it from visiting Pittsburgh?? I was hoping for a little bit more seasoning that I would be able to pick up on but it didn't taste like the steak was marinated in much of anything as stated on the menu although it was a tasty prepared piece of meat. I would like to come back and try the other menu options in the future. Give it a go and if anyone has some suggestions as to a really standout dish here please let me know so I can try it next time.

I have been stationed at Ft. Myer for a little while now and only recently found this gem. The service is spectacular, the food is authentic and priced fairly. Over all I would say they have some amazing happy hour specials as well. Each item ordered was brought out in a timely manner and I never once had to wait around for anything. From the outside this place does not look like much but after this experience I know that I will be there here again to enjoy the margaritas and great food.

I believe this is my first Bolivian cuisine experience, and it was a pretty good one. Parking is scarce--there's street parking, then a small lot, and a couple spaces in the back where I think employees might park. The place is nicely lit up with Christmas lights and there's a strange random cow chair in the entrance... Decor is funky but I guess it adds character. It looks small from the outside but the majority of the seats are actually in the back through a hallway. Service was very good. Servers and different people came by every so often to see if we were doing ok. Food is pretty good. - Shrimp skewers: nicely BBQ'd with a nice flavor. - Grilled chicken with bone in: also juicy, tender and cooked just right. - Their fried yuca was ok. The white rice was really good. There were several different types of side salads served, which was cool. - They have a grilled meat dish 'a la parrilla' which looked pretty awesome. I'd say Bolivian food is a good mix of Argentinean and Peruvian food. They definitely served bottles of Argentinian wine. Definitely coming back to try some other dishes. I enjoyed my first experience here

I love this place. Heaping piles of tasty meat, cold drinks, and spiced well with jalapeños and other spices. The prices are also very low. Take someone here, grab a planchita, two mixed drinks, juice, and fried plantains. The meal will cost less than $40 bucks and you'll be a hero.

This place is a gem! I love little laid back places like this. My husband and I had the one of the mini platters which was awesome. Service was great. Plus they were playing old school jams outside with music videos.

3.75 STARS I came here with my friend boy last night (Friday) around 8:45pm. The place was pretty much next to deserted. I've been wanting to come here for awhile. Finally upon approaching it -- my friend boy and I made a snap decision and pulled in. You honest to goodness can't miss it with their Christmas lights outside flashing you down to come in. I totally love any place that has Christmas lights up year round. Simply put, how can you not love it?! When we were seated, we had no idea how big the space was until you're taken to the back of the restaurant where the main dining room is. You can't tell the size of it from the road. We quickly scanned then menu where he decided on the tilapia sandwich and I got the chicken skewers. For our appetizer, we had the yucca. My chicken skewers were wonderful. They're tasty and served with yuccas typically, but since I had that pre-meal, I subbed them for plantains. Honest to goodness, the plantains were amazing. I don't think you can mess those up. The yuccas weren't the best I've had. They were simply 'okay'. The yuccas come with two sauces for dipping. One house made spicy pepper salsa and the other is a yogurt or sour cream base which is mild and doesn't add much flavor to it in my opinion. Our server was great. I don't know his name, unfortunately. I really should have caught it. However, I can say he was really cute with his little accent and all. He looked like a surfer from Cali...er....Bolivia? I'd say I would come back. The first impression was a decent impression, however, I don't know if I can say this was the best dining experience of my life either if you know what I mean. It served its purpose which was to feed me and give me a good evening out with my guy. Congrats, you succeeded!

Authentic Food was great, spices were hot, cocktails were fabulous. Loved the meat and the attention to detail. The ambiance reminds me of my experiences in Latin America because it is a piece of that region right here in northern Virginia. Great wait staff as well as cooks.

This is a 4-star review for food but a 2-star review for service. Don't let the sketchiness of the front entrance deter you from the good food -- it looks like a dirty convenience store from the street. I went here with my fiance and ordered some drinks, pupusas and a beef skewer. The food was great -- traditional, fresh and well-spiced. The drinks were also good -- one was a sangria made with peach juice that was excellent, despite being a bit overpriced at $8.50. Unfortunately, the service was not on par with the quality of the food. Our server was very nice and polite, but we never received an appetizer that we ordered. Then my food came out, but we had to wait about 10 minutes before my fiance's food showed up. We made it work since we were on a casual date night -- ended up just sharing both meals, but it would have been totally unacceptable in any other circumstance. Overall, I would probably give this place another try, but maybe order it to-go next time :-/

3.5 stars. Bolivia is known as one of the poorest countries in South America, and so I would assume that their cuisine would reflect a down-to-earth and comforting approach. So the food seemed really homemade and authentic, and the atmosphere equally so, with a nice touch of flamenco music. We went there for lunch and got 2-course lunch specials of soup and thin-pounded and breaded steak over noodles, plus an appetizer of plaintain with crumbled cheese (yum). Because it was our first visit, the server did a really nice thing and treated us to an empanada filled with pico de gallo. I would recommend going for a real entree versus that lunch special of breaded and thin-pounded steak over pasta -- it didn't have a beef flavor, and the whole thing doesn't look appealing. It was just ok. We did notice that there were two tables of Latinos that had ordered other entrees that looked great and had ample amounts. The first-course soups were good. The only thing we could have done without was the really super sugary passion fruit drinks, but that was included in the special. They also have inexpensive alcohol deals and feature progressive happy hours starting at 3 pm, in which the prices start low and just incrementally increase every hour. And I might add -- this is a great place to take your date, guys, or for businessmen to seal a deal.

Do not be lured by the Groupon. Do not be lured by the bright yellow, festive looking exterior. We went for drinks & appetizers only to be told that EVERY one of the apps we wanted was "out." Instead they served old hotdog rolls (posing as grilled bread) brushed w/ oil & jarred tomatoes (supposedly chimichurri sauce). Avoid the flavorless Giant Ancient Aztec corn. Avoid the fava beans. Take a close look at the cow-like sofa in the front entrance... has that ever been cleaned? I really wanted to like it. It really was one of THE worst restaurants in the area.

Sibarita was just ok. There appears to be a good deal of hype here, so I was very excited to try it. Hubby and I started our "date" night with a brisk walk to Sibarita to build up a decent appetite. We were seated immediately in a nearly half-filled restaurant on a Saturday night. The decor was pretty cool, and we were excited to try our meals. To start, we ordered the plantain chips and hot sauce. Hot sauce. Be prepared for spicy, need some water to go with that, sauce. We thought we'd try something different and both ordered the peach tea, which Hubby loved and gulped down. The icing on top is knowing it's fresh peach with the core down the center of the drink. For dinner, Hubby got the lamb silpancho. A LOT of food. His dish was great - the meat was tender and it came with a heaping of rice. My dish, however, left something to be desired. I got the fried chicken, which was a bit flavorless and left a lot to be wanting. So while the food was OK, I must comment and say that the service was OK also. We waited quite a bit for service to order and to receive our check, but we didn't mind so much since we were having a leisurely dinner. Overall, Hubby and I were not so impressed that we will likely not be back

I gravitated towards this place cuz it looked cool and how could you go wrong with a place that has a lion statue on top of it? Awesome customer service! This place hit the spot for a cold rainy day. Love these little dives! The food was fantastic and I love how they toss a fried egg on everything. I will keep coming back.

I'm still full...from last night. We came here based on the pretty high reviews, although I'd have to say it's just ok. Bolivian food is definately an acquired taste - and don't expect to eat light. They call them "fat fries" for a reason. Upon arrival this place has AWESOME christmas lights and looks like a small bar...however there is a hidden seating area in the back. Also, this place was packed on a sunday night with folks of Bolivian descent - a testament to the authenticity of the food. We ordered the chicken skewers and the milanesa de polla (pounded chicken), but we were given the silpancho de pollo (another variation on pounded chicken with pico de gallo). We didn't really know what the difference was so we were fine with what came out. The pounded chicken was a bit bland, so it really needed that pico de gallo (maybe some hot sauce too). The yucca that came with the skewers was alright, and since it was my first time trying yucca I have nothing to compare it to. Other more refined reviewers have mentioned that the yucca fries were fine, but not great. Also, even the salad that came with the skewers was drenched in mayo - again, don't try to count your calories here. Waitress was energetic and nice, and I can see why so many others gave this place good reviews. However, I'm more of a fan of the local Peruvian and El Salvadorian cuisine. You should give this place a try and decide for yourself :)

This has become one of our regular happy hour places. Their caiparinhas and mojitos are delicious, and the happy hour prices are good. We've ordered the lamb silpancho two or three times, and it never disappoints. In fact I haven't tried anything here that I didn't like. The service is prompt and friendly. We've had the same server, Brenda, the last few times, and she's always very friendly and helpful. Love the outdoor tiki bar seating area with the Latin music videos playing on the big TV. I would definitely recommend this place!

The food is outstanding. The silpancho is definitely their specialty, but I've also had and loved their beef skewers (pincho), one of the Sunday specials, the saltenas, and the k'allu con pan. All were fantastic, and I don't know what it is that they do with their rice, but it's some of the best I've ever had. Beyond that, the owners are always there and always warm, welcoming, and friendly. Whether you come in half an hour before the kitchen closes, or you have a party of six and one person is 35 minutes late, they never make you feel rushed or pressured to order, eat, and get out. This really is a fantastic neighborhood place with excellent food. I hope they stick around for a long time!

Love this place! The Envuelta de Carne is amazing. Second time we've been here and I still can't believe how authentic it is. Definitely a place to check out. (Remember to ask for a seat in the back, in the restaurant, and don't stop at the front where the bar is.

Good food for a good price. Friendly service. Loved their hot sauce. We didn't pack an appetite so we picked from their sandwich options. Will come back to try out other items on the menu.

Fantastic food and great service. Try the cheesy plantain hush puppy patty. So good; you have to get it. With the other appetizer we got...toasted bread with a tangy green sauce and giant corn kernels and a tomato salad, you could make your very own vegetarian burger! But we enjoy eating meat so let's move onto the entrees! I ordered the Lamb Silpancho and he ordered a beef/steak dish with cheesy rice and yucca. His dish was amazing (it also come with a salad), there's more cheese than rice and although the texture tasted a bit weird to me, when you pair it with the perfectly (and yes I do mean to perfection) cooked beef it suddenly comes together. The Lamb Silpacho (came with a tomato beet salad), well I didn't read description all that thoroughly and didn't realize the lamb would come out completely pounded flat. My bf liked it but had I known it would be cooked this way I would've gotten his dish. It was hard to cut at first but the two perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs helped soften the meat. Oh, their portions are so large that you'll likely make a mess because the food actually cant fit on their plates! My only complaint is the typeface of the menu. Difficult to read; I must be getting old.

The food was meh, the service was awful. To start, somehow the water smelled gross. We ordered the "smashed avocados with pico de gallo" appetizer, which was basically plantain chips with homemade guacamole for $6. You'd expect the plantain chips to be homemade, or at least good, but instead I literally saw her pour a $0.50 bag of store-bought plantain chips into my basket. The guacamole somehow was also bad. We also ordered the planchita, which is a meat platter for two with fried yucca, steak fries and baked plantains. The plantains, rice and yucca were both really good, as was the chorizo. The remainder of the meat was dry and lacking in flavor. I wanted to ask for salt and hot sauce, but alas our server never came to check on us. I had to go inside from the patio to ask for these items and they said that they'd bring them to us. 10 minutes later, I got salt but no hot sauce. I had to go inside again to ask for the hot sauce, but she never brought it out to me. This lack of service seemed pervasive. The other 3 tables on the patio seemed frustrated when trying to get the server's attention and in trying to remind her of things she hadn't yet brought them. In the end, the food was alright (not the plantain chips, though) for the price, but I wouldn't recommend it. Neither the food nor the restaurant is worth a trip.

This is a cute family-run restaurant with very yummy food and good service. My boyfriend and I go there every month. The food is very authentic and reasonably priced. A grill meal for two costs $25 and we always bring a doggie bag home! Imagine the portion.

It was my first time eating Bolivian food and it was delicious! For drinks we got a tamarind juice and horchata(sp?). I got the marinated steak with fried eggs and rice. It was very similar to a Cambodian dish- Loc lac. For 12.50, it was a lot of food and I was able to make another meal out of it. I usually eat all my food but we were both stuffed and couldn't finish our plate.

Best margaritas. Ever. "I personally believe" (channeling Miss South Carolina here, folks) that Sibarita has the best silpancho in town, even better than Luzmila's (Falls Church, Rt. 7). Keep in mind that when you order, your food will take a while, because the kitchen makes everything from scratch- and it shows. So far, I've had the silpancho (Try the lamb version), the chicharrones de pollo, asado borracho, and a couple of other things. They've all been very good. Since I work in DC and live in VA, this is the perfect place to stop by for a drink and a meal. They have an interesting happy hour, in which the prices start off super cheap and progressive rise toward regular prices by 7:00PM. They have specials every day, and their cocktails are carefully crafted. Clean interior decor, large LCD TVs to watch Bolivian/Spanish TV.

Very big portions at fair (but not great) prices. After we left the restaurant we agreed that next time we'll just get an app and share the entree. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. My biggest complaint is that I hate ordering a soft drink at a restaurant and having a can brought to the table. As other reviewers have mentioned the food takes a long time to arrive, but for the great food we had it was worth the wait. We'll be back for sure.

I've been reading a lot of mixed reviews about this place, but more positives than negatives so I decided to finally try it out. I've been living in the area long enough to remember when this place was known wayyyy back as "Don Arturos." Now it has done a 360 degree turn around. I came here with a friend because she was craving (antojitos) for some silpancho and I wanted anything Bolivian. When we walked in you enter into the little bar in the front, and we were immediately greeted by waitress and probably bartender too. She took us to a back area to a small but cozy dining room probably large enough for 20-30 patrons at a time. We sat down and got our menus to order, our waitress took our drink order first and then our food order. I got the "milanes de res" which comes with rice, fried potatoes and side salad. My friend got the "silpancho" which is a breaded thin steak with rice, potatoes, two fried eggs on top and a finely chopped salad of onion and tomatoes (almost like a pico de gallo but without the cilantro). Our meal arrived quickly and the food tasted good, the portions were on point. I would definitely come back here to try some of their other menu items.

Their food is pretty good and you have to try the lime juice...... just don't use the bathrooms!!! They are tiny and dirty and when you sit at the toilet your face is almost at the level of their "always full" trash can and last time I was there someone's "bloody" mess was right on top. They should continuously check and empty their trash cans, it was awful! They also have a nude woman's painting in the lady's bathroom which seems a bit inappropriate for a family restaurant, my kid always giggles when she goes in there with me. Service is ok, could use improvement. If you want to pay cash, they conveniently don't carry "change". Best to pay by credit card and if their machine isn't working, you are out of luck. It's a shame, their food is good and I go back there occasionally for the food, but I won't make this my go to place for the reasons listed above.

First time having Bolivian, so I wasn't too sure what to expect. The entire experience was just off. We had a reservation for 7 and were seated around 7:20. Ordered the K'allu con pan and the Mini Parrillada. We waited a looong time, about an hour, for the K'allu to come out. Needless to say by that point we were pretty hungry, and it was an ok dish, if not a bit bland. The Parrillada came out about 15 minutes later, but just the meat, none of the sides. After about 5 or 6 minutes I finally was able to flag down a waitress and ask about it. Another 5 or 6 minutes later, the sides appeared. Having been there so long we had already started in on the meat, but it was really awkward to have just a plate of meat. When the sides did finally arrive there was no "Choclo." I asked the waitress about it, and she said that it's only served with the Parrillada on the weekends (we were there on a Friday). Interesting policy, that should definitely be noted somewhere on the menu. I would think they'd have a different price, or at least something that subs in during the week. I was especially annoyed by this since I had never heard of "Choclo" and that's the reason we ordered the Parrillada instead of the Planchita. By the time we were done it was around 9:30, since we had to wait so long for or dishes. Overall the food was not bad, but the missteps were more than enough to knock off a few stars.

Letting my rating speak for itself. Otherwise, I'd just be repeating the positives everyone else is saying. One thing I will mention; I missed the 7 pm happy hour by ONE minute! And they don't mess around with that, so I got screwed over and didn't get the special.

service is very friendly, this place looks small in the front but opens up in the back. the silpancho is good and at $12 it can definitely feed two - we ordered two meals and ended up taking home one of them

Our company hosted an international day with our summer internship program in June. The food was great! We had pique macho, falso conejo, chicharron de pollo, cabanitas, and arroz con leche. The staff was able to assist us on making decision on what to purchase and the amount within our budget. Our interns appreciated the opportunity to try something new and delicious! This was my first time trying Bolivian Food so I will definitely have to eat in the restaurant soon!

The prices on the menu were impressively good, and the lunch specials even better, but the food left much to be desired. It was an odd mix of pasta, rice, meatballs, and some raw vegetables. The meatballs were great, but the bland sides weren't great. Portions are large, and they did honor discount coupons without quarrel. The food takes time but still worth the 20 minutes or so of waiting. It's a place I might go back to for the prices and variety, but not high quality food, which isn't what this place is for anyhow. It's a good straight-forward lunch spot.

Absolutely love this place! The decor is quirky and laid-back and the food is incredible. Have now come here with family, big groups of friends, and for casual date nights, and the atmosphere seems to match every occasion. Came here for a few world cup games with my boyfriend, and we sat outside with a bottle of wine and delicious food for hours. Even since the world cup has been over, we've continued to go on Saturday afternoons and hang out outside. They have great drink specials, but seriously don't dismiss the wine: I almost never get a full bottle at restaurants because of price, but at this place it's very nearly the price you'd pay for a bottle in a grocery store. I overlooked this the first few times I was here (because the daily drink specials are so fun) but won't pass on it again! The outdoor patio is a great place to hang out and relax with drinks and food. I've seen a few people upset by the speed of service at this place, which surprises me. I've found the servers to be very attentive. The food is cooked to order, so it does take a while to come out, but I think almost everyone would agree that the quality of the food justifies the wait. The servers themselves are very friendly--Sebastian is our favorite! My boyfriend and I come occasionally but after serving us just once he now remembers us every time and greets us at the door with a cheerful smile. He even remembered the exact bottle of wine that I liked the first time and checked on it right after seating us at our favorite patio table! While sitting outside he always came and checked that the wine was on ice and refilled our glasses, always pausing to chat when we wanted to. I think the service is great! That and the incredible quality of the food will keep me coming back here for a long time.

I had the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful food at a luncheon for our company. The food was excellent. The chicharones de pollo were delicious as well as the bolivian steak dish. For desert we had arroz con leche and I was transported right back to my childhood in my abuela's kitchen. If your looking to try some amazing authentic bolivian food definitely give this place a try. It is simply delicious!!

We visited SiBarita somewhat spontaneous and we're glad we did! I was a bit surprised entering the front door and seeing how small the front section was. But we were guided across the room, through the doorway and up the stairs into a larger dining room. Savoring a nice margarita, combined with the music and décor, my wife closed her eyes and said she briefly thought we had travelled to a different country. Never having eaten Bolivian before, we asked the waiter for recommendations. We tried the Lamb Silpancho and the Planchita. Yes, it was too much food! But it was good food! The Silpancho was crispy and tasty, as was the tender steak and beef rib tips of the Planchita. We will return and likely bring some friends!

(4.5, but i'll round up) ive dined here a few times and each time it's solidly terrific. the servers remember you (which is always nice) and on several occasions have put together special plates of items to introduce you to bolivian food. DO THIS. sibarita is VERY tiny and has a certain type of charm that you either appreciate or you don't. i would rather chow down on delicious, authentic bolivian food than fret over christmas lights / my drinks being served in mason jars with a handle. if you like amazing food, you'll dig this place. trust.

Great little hole-in-the-wall place with incredibly friendly service and really good food. It's got a casual atmosphere and is not pretentious in the slightest. If you're not too worried about having the fanciest decor or plates, etc., but just want to relax, be yourself, and eat some great food, come here.

I didn't even have a Yelp account before now. I joined just so that I could write this review. Sibarita's food is absolutely amazing!!! I ordered the Asado Boracho and it was one of the best meals I've had in the DC area in the 8 years that I have lived here. Absolutely phenomenal. I went with 4 other people and everyone had excellent meals. The icing on the top was our waitress. She was not only professional and efficient, she was also friendly and had a great sense of humor. I will definitely going back be soon and often.

I REALLY wanted to like this place... Good reviews on Yelp, Champions League on the TV, a solid progressive happy hour... But I can never come here again - at least not with my wife!! She definitely got the short end of the stick; $2 for a pack of Lipton tea and hot water, no dressing on her "salad", and we waited over 45 minutes for our order... She ordered the grilled tilapia, and I honestly felt bad for her when it came out - scoop of rice, one potato cut in half and "fried", two lukewarm tilapia filets, and the aforementioned dry lettuce. She asked for ketchup and was given a basket of ketchup/mayo/mustard packets that look like they were stolen from somewhere else! I had the asado borracho; I thought it was pretty good - bottom line: decent service, horrible wait for food, and way too many "cut corners" for our taste - we'll spend our $50 elsewhere from now on.

Stopped by midway through our NY-MIA road trip and it was probably the best food decision we made. Even our resident Bolivian loved it. The portions were large enough to share and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Our group ordered silpancho, piqué macho, churrasco bramado, and a mini parillada. Tried everything and I would definitely order any of those dishes again. Service was attentive and efficient.

This place made my week! I am so glad my boyfriend and I were drawn in by the curious xmas lights that COVER the outside of this place. Having traveled to Bolivia and lived in Argentina I can say that the parillas are very true to the flavors of South America. We shared the mini parillada which was a lot of food- 3 different cuts of steak, chicken, morcilla and chorizo. Coming along side rice, french fries, and a tomato salad. I was amazed by how fresh everything tasted. The staff was friendly and attentive- I didnt get to tell them but the food at Sibarita was better than I even remembered IN Bolivia!

I passed this place on my way (walking) to the Arlington Cemetery. It looks like a pretty unpresuming Latin bar from the outside, but it is actually a restaurant and the Bolivian cooks are amazing. I have been back at least ten times in the four weeks that I know the place, and I have tried something different every time; nothing was bad! People come for the meat, which is pretty amazing, but I tried the peanut soup and even that was very enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I read Mark's post and almost walked out... however, I already ordered so I stayed. He indicates " [the server] was clearing one of the tables after a party had left. She noticed that the small dish of green spicy dipping sauce on the table still had some left. We had seen this party using the green sauce earlier. The server took the dish of remaining sauce and instead of bringing it back to the kitchen, she placed it in the refrigerator at the entrance to the dining room area. Soon after, another couple was seated in the dining room." To his point, I think I disagree with the implication that this was a bad thing. I have seen many places do the same thing. This is NOT a dipping sauce, it comes with a spoon... and I personally think they would be wasteful to throw out each dish after every guest. It would be like throwing out the salt and pepper shakers after each guest. Okay, so not really... but, I want to get the point across that I don't think it was anything major. I ordered the lunch special. The soup was great and the beef was not something I enjoyed, but I don't think it was poorly cooked, rather just not my type of food.

Just a small and cozy restaurant that will surprise you with anything. Starting from their food all the way to their tiny bathrooms. The decoration is unique. It is very colorful and festive. At the entrance they have a small bar and some seats around the counter, but that's not all, the restaurant area is in the back, full of chairs and tables. The food is fantastic! we ordered two of their traditional drinks (lima and some peach ice tea), both great, but I would say my favorite was the peach ice tea. For our meal we had "La planchita" it is a dish for two ppl containing different meats (ribs, chorizo, including some side dishes like potatoes, sweet plantains, rice and EGGS! It was delicious! I will totally recommend this place. All I have to say- Don't let the looks deceive you!

Good food, big portions, very friendly staff, would highly recommend the only reason I did not give five stars is that the margaritas left something to be desired.

Excellent food and service! Boyfriend and I ordered the planchita (awessssome!!!!) and it was delicious and very authentic (note I am Hispanic and can pick out the "fake" stuff). Only downfall for this place was the lame music (90s pop... not romantic). They only have one dessert (bread pudding with vanilla ice cream) and they only need one... (A-MA-ZING!) great size for sharing. Overall great experience, especially for the money ($53 pre-tip for dinner, dessert and 2 South American beers each!). Can't beat it! WE WILL RETURN!

This place is so cute with their decorations! I love that they now have holiday lights all over the restaurant's exterior. You really can't miss this place driving on Washington Blvd. I remember when it was October, the bar area/ first dining area was decorated for Halloween like nobody's business. It was so cute I vowed to hold my next birthday celebrations there! The chicharon de pollo (bone-in fried chicken) came with rice and fries. I highly recommend this dish if you're not too worried about the bones. The pollo saltado, sauteed chicken with onions, fries, and some other vegetable, was decent. Anything you order here will leave you completely stuffed and perhaps with a takeaway box. When we walked in, Brenda was making homemade juice that smelled like cinnamon. She offered to let us try it before ordering it blindly. Unfortunately, parking is extremely limited but their happy hour starts pretty early so maybe you won't have a hard time looking for parking at that hour after all.

The only reason this is a 2 star and not a 1 is because I did not get sick. Not at ALL deserving of the 4.5 stars it gets. 1) "Charming way to serve the water"---a milk jug and plastic cups? Classssyyyy! I see you have glasses...why the plastic cups? 2) The menu was sticky. Gross. 3) My shoes stuck to the floor! Gross!! 4) My date and I were the only ones in the restaurant for an 8:00 dinner on a Wednesday night. 5) Service was bad. 40 minute wait on food. Ordered a second drink before the food arrived, the drink (a can of coke....) didn't arrive until after we finished eating. I emphasize this because we were LITERALLY the only table in an empty restaurant. 6) We ordered waitress recommendations, the food was bland. I had a side of "Bolivian Cheesy Rice"--looked and tasted like they forgot to put the rice in it. Was just mushy cheese.... AVOID!

My boyfriend and I decided to check out Sibarita after they posted coupons in our apartment building. He is half Bolivian and we were immediately excited about getting $3 off Silpancho (thin, breaded meat with rice and salsa). When we first walked in I was taken aback by how small the place was. I honestly wanted to turn around and leave because I felt awkward sitting so near the kitchen. Good thing we stayed! The dining room was around the side and it was a nice atmosphere. The Silpancho was delicious and authentic. They allowed us to use two coupons on one order, which was incredibly generous. Very hospitable and great food! If you like Bolivian food you will like this one. It's one of our new favorites (except they don't have saltenas on weekends FYI). Try it out!

I didn't know it was possible to make a terrible Cuban sandwich... I guess I shouldn't have ordered the Cuban here in the first place... anyway the rest of the food was ok, but definitely not worth anywhere near the 4 star rating the place had when I decided to check it out.

  • André M.

Decided to check this place out because I never had Bolivian food before. It was not hard to find and when you first walk in, you would think it's a carryout, but the dining room is in the back. Not exactly a 5 start dining area, but that not a run down either. 2 42" Flat screens mounted in either corner of the room and Latin music was in full swing. We had the Parrillada Familiar which was grilled Beef Ribs, Steak, Chicken, chorizo, and morcilla sausage with potatoes, rice and Tomato/onion salad. Everything was cooked perfectly and flavorful. The combinations of flavors work. I will be going back to taste more of the menu.

This place is so good! If you live in Arlington you have probably driven by it a few times and noticed the lights. Trust your instincts and definitely check this place out. I have been there over ten times and have become a big fan! The mojitos are awesome, the skewers are the best i have ever had, and the service is great! Also, their progressive happy hour is such a deal. So, if you are tired of the same old places in Clarendon and want to try something different try this place! Authentic and fresh!

Went there the other day with my girlfriend and friend visiting from Richmond. The place was fantastic, the service was 5 stars. The waiter was super friendly, so friendly to the point I felt like shaking the dude's hand when we left. After reading the other reviews, I did not realize that they even had a back room as we ate in the outdoor patio which was a basically in the parking lot but was 'cozy'. The food is simple, lots of onion, garlic, tomato, egg with your rice + meat of choice. I'm definitely coming again with my girl, hopefully in a couple days!

Fabulous authentic food. This place has generous portions. Three of us shared a combination platter and it was excellent. Grilled meats, fresh tomato salad and rice we added an order of plantanos. The host (Jorge) was very helpful he made good suggestions and we will definitely be back. We esp. liked the yummy fresh salsa served with plaintain chips which were gobbled down- yum! The front of the restaurant looks like a carryout place but the cozy dining room was in the back. Give this place a try!!!!

I tried this restaurant because I was meeting my brother and it was close to his house and we were in the mood for Latin food. You're not sure what to make of it from the outside but once we went in we were very happy with the authentic and delicious food. The atmosphere is cozy, pleasant and relaxed. The service was fantastic and we were happy to meet Brenda and Ricky who were working that night. It's a casual neighborhood kind of place. I will definitly go back!

This little family run gem is unassumingly comforting, like a hug from your long lost elderly aunt. It's most authentic Bolivian fare can be found weekends, but there's still plenty of deliciousness mid-week. Saltenas Like lightly sweetened baked empanadas or pasties filled with potato, peas, signed chicken. Must try! Sopa de Mani Deserves a slot in the "epic hangover foods of the world" hall of fame. It's creamy but not heavy, has a nice hint of mint, beef broth, yuca, string fried potatoes in a perfectly nuanced melange of palate pleasing comfort. You need this in your debauchd life. Try their mixed cocktails. The Boozy Peach Iced Tea isn't super sweet but it is a great summer cooler. Worth the ride from Upper NW!

Came on a Saturday night. My last visit was so worthy of a 5 star review, but tonight's visit was hardly a 3. Service was slow and drinks were extremely sour (margarita and Brazilian drink). Also seems like the lovely outdoor decor has diminished (many light bulbs out). Really the only positives were the amount of overall food that was eventually served and the music (mix of 80s and 90s). I'm really hoping we just came on an off night and this isn't really the face of one of the best kept secrets in Arlington now.

My boyfriend and I drove by this restaurant a number of times. Every time we rode by, we'd comment that we should try it because its tiki-looking patio looked fun and inviting. Finally tonight we ventured in, sat outside on the patio with a drink in hand and dove into the huge platter of Bolivian food. Food: The dish we ordered was meant for 2 people. By the end of the meal we were both stuffed even though there was still food left on the plate. The platter came with two kinds of steak (both cooked perfectly and seasoned well), sausage (I couldn't get enough of the sausage it was so good), fried plantains, rice, fried yucca, fried, roasted tomatoes, peppers and onions. Drinks: We had one white sangria and a margarita. Neither drink was very good. Both seemed to be made with some generic store-bought mix. Atmosphere: I loved sitting outside on the patio. It was a lovely summer night and we both felt transported to another place. We weren't sure exactly where our dining journey took us, but we knew it wasn't Arlington or DC. Warning- they have terrible 90's soft rock music videos playing on the TV. Not only do you have to suffer through hearing Michael Bolton. But you have to see him too. We had trouble deciding whether we hated the music atmosphere or whether that helped make it feel 'less DC.' Overall, the mostly good atmosphere and good food will bring me back. But next time I'll probably just order a beer.

Table of 4 adults, ordered: Sopa de Mani. 2 stars. Very light, not ver6 mani flavorful, not very authentic at all Planchita for 2. HUGE. Had to ask and make sure they didn't nring the one for 4 by mistake. 3 stars Chicharron de cerdo. Large serving, como para cochabambino. Didn't taste authentic. 3 starts Order of fries and yuca side. 4 stars. The help, very nice. 4 stars. I don't think the cook is bolivian. The food has a fusion flavor of sorts, you just take a look at the menu and can tell it isn't fully bolivian. In a different visit I had the salteñas. Definetely not an authentic salteña. Close but no cigar. You won't leave hungry, that's for damn sure.

My family and I went to this restaurant. The plates are big, but the ceviche is very good but it is not a big serving. I have the Lomo Saltado and it was very good. The people are very nice also

If you're ever in the DC, Arlington area and you don't stop here for food, you will honestly have missed out on one of life's greater pleasures. Coco and Brenda and well, the entire staff will make you feel like family (they were even kind enough to keep serving us long after they closed, they even sat with us until early in the morning as we drank and talked like old friends) The food here is incredible to say the least, definitely bring your appetite. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place, it's amazing food, and incredible staff.

Don't let the exterior fool you. This is an amazing hole in the wall which opens up to a large interior. This place may be the only restaurant in history where groupon's intended business model worked. I got a groupon initially 2 years ago and have been coming back regularly since. The combo platters are the best. Planchita or parrillada are excellent selections if you want a variety of meat and a ton of food. These are heaping and you can get the parrillada for 2 or 4 people. The price point is great for the amount of food you get. Carbs and beef. Waitstaff is very friendly and the vibe is festive. It a bit run down making it feel more authentic. This is one of my regular spots now. I would suggest against getting the avacado side dish. Honestly pretty awful. Stick to the meats, rice, plantains and yuca.

A true hidden gem and "hole in the wall" in Arlington. Never had Bolivian food before but if the place is an indication of the food, I wouldn't mind checking out the country someday. The portion sizes for the entrees are huge! We ordered the Planchita for 2, but there was enough leftovers for another dinner for 2 people. We got 3 huge grilled ribs, one chorizo sausage, two fried eggs, plenty of fried yuca and plantains. For appetizers, we got the fresh pico de gallo. It came with plantain chips. The margarita I got was delicious as well. Bottom line: Great value, well seasoned and fresh food, and friendly service. I wouldn't mind bringing friends to check the place out. Tip: Get an order of the fried yucas if your entree doesn't come with it. So crispy and well seasoned!

This little place has been on my wife's yelp list for quite a while. We had the opportunity to try a late night snack. Parking is small and tight but available. When you walk in, there is a small bar area, where local patrons enjoy a drink or two. As luck would have it, I actually saw a past co-worker there. We were seated in the back dining room. Service was prompt. The menu was extensive. We only wanted a small snack. I ordered the Cubano. That sandwich would have fed the entire yelp crew tonight. For a mere $9, it was almost a 12 inch grilled sandwich filled with pork and the perfect amount of pickles. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of house red. The portions are very large. The staff(all two of them) were very accommodating.

Saw a friend check-in to this place on Facebook, was curious and knew I immediately had to try out this place based on some of the pics I saw on FB. One of the FB pics I saw featured a lunch special menu, peanut soup and silpancho on Thursdays. Slightly disappointed when I was informed that this was not the special today, settled for the beef soup and lomo saltado. Beef Soup came out first and was impressed with the portion they gave me. Server gave me some limes and complimentary greeen hot sauce which gave it another kick. Had no problem finishing it and it hit the spot on this surprisling cold and gloomy June day. Lomo Saltado came out next in a perfect lunch portion. Meat was a little chewy and just slightly on the oily side (maybe that's how it traditionally is) and was served with their "Fat" French Fries, basically two big potato wedges. I enjoyed the meal. Happy Hour looks great (hopefully they still have it) was saddened when the server told me they didn't have a much of a dessert menu, as she handed my check. I definitely want to come back and try the rest of the dishes, the table of the three next to me ordered a family style meal of assorted meats served sizzling fajita style grill that looked amazing!

I would give this place 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up. If I were to use two words to describe this place it would be, "Refreshing Surprise" or maybe "Good Vibes". The restaurant is situated in a cute little divey looking place and that's exactly what it is when you enter. BUT, when you go into the back dining room of the restaurant, it miraculously opens up! I really wasn't anticipating the dining room to be as large as it was. It is great for a nice family-style meal or a date. I've had two different servers here and they were both attentive and enthusiastic about the food. The cozy atmosphere and service makes you feel like your eating in someone's home. Drinks: As astonished as I was about the dining area, I was even more pleased with the drinks. They have different happy hour specials everyday (4pm-7pm) with $5 cocktails and $3 or $4 cervezas. I went in expecting a standard sweet & sour mix margarita which I immediately regret ordering, however,I got a well-balanced margarita with fresh lemon juice. At $5 during happy hour, I couldn't help but order another ;). On another visit, I came on a Wednesday where Mojitos are $5. They're definitely not my favorite drink, but I really enjoyed their take on it which included an entire sliced up lime and a whole bunch of fresh muddled mint and sugar. Food: I ordered the Planchita ($25) which was more than enough food for two people. It included two different cuts of beef, a link of chorizo, fried plantain & yucca, rice, and two runny eggs on top. Although it was intimidating to look at, my girlfriend and I took it down... much to the surprise of the waiter ;). I would definitely come back for this dish again .While nothing on the plate blew me away, it was all scrumptious. The yucca was "meh", but the plantains made up for it. Gotta love that sweet, salty, and fried combination. The beef cuts are extremely thin and thus are quite tough & chewy. The meal also comes with a generous side of herbed rice and chimichuri/green spicy sauce. WOW, I wish I could bottle up that sauce and slather it on just about anything. What a great fresh and spicy kick to go along with the heavy offerings of the Planchita. In my opinion, the highlight of the meal is the rice. It reminds me of the kind of rice my friend's mom, who was Nicaraguan, used to make for me when I was a kid. When you put all of the meat and fries on top of the rice and slice up the runny egg into it with the green sauce on top... it's what I imagine a bite of Bolivia would taste like. YUM. If you want a refreshing, comfortable experience and want to try some Bolivian food, you can't go wrong with Sibarita. I look forward to coming back.

Delicious food! My husband and I shared a platter for 2 that came with a couple types of beef, chorizo, eggs, delicious jasmine rice, fried onion, yuka, plantains, and fries. The portions were huge, and quite affordable ($28.50 after tax to feed two hungry adults dinner). The only down side was that it took a while to cook the food, but the atmosphere was good for having an engaging conversation with each other while we waited. The waitress did a good job. This was my third time going to this restaurant and I plan to continue going.

While the extent of my Spanish vocabulary is "Poquito", the only word you will need to know at Sibarita is "delicioso". I had never really experienced Bolivian cuisine, so really glad I decided to check this place out. Believe the other reviewers who state this place is a "hole in the wall" because it is easy to miss along busy Washington Blvd. Located 5 blocks from the hipster haven that is Clarendon, do not expect to find stainless steel decor, pendant lighting fixtures, or vessel sinks with high efficiency hand dryers in the bathroom. TIP: Before entering the broom closet-sized bathrooms, take a paper towel on the table in the hallway for drying your hands. In fact, upon walking into the restaurant, I wasn't even quite sure where the seating area was. But walk around the counter and there is a decent sized dining area complete with two large screen TVs which will be tuned to either a Spanish language station or a "futbol" game. The menu is extensive...IMHO maybe a bit too extensive since the laminated sheet is almost too busy with all of the items. But do yourself a favor and order a Yuca with cheese appetizer to start the meal. A crispy disc of yucca stuffed with cheese and then topped with Queso Fresco is scrumptous by itself, but dip it into the addictive house made green chili sauce and it is transformed into a fantastic appetizer. The green chili sauce doesn't hit you at first, but the heat builds with each bite. The cheese really helps to balance out the heat while providing a nice salty finish. I would get this again solely for the green chili sauce. The server recommended the Planchita which was HUMONGOUS, and even though the menu says it can serve two people, actually it can easily satisfy three adults. Seasoned grilled beef ribs, NY strip steak, and spicy chorizo sausage are sauteed with onions, peppers, tomatoes, plantains, fries, and then topped off with a fried egg. While your cardiologist may not be happy with this dish, don't worry about leaving hungry. The strip steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare while the seasoning on the ribs was on the spicy side but not too high on the Scoville scale. I will definitely be back since Sibarita also features a "progressive Happy Hour" starting at 3pm. Current prices indicate that from 3-4pm, beer is $1.75 and each hour the prices go up slightly until 5-7pm, when it tops up at $4. Not bad at all. There are also wine and mixed drinks specials, so ask the server for additional information. The only "negative" is the itty-bitty parking lot in front of the restaurant. There might be 5 spots total, so dining here could mean either street parking or circling around the adjacent neighborhood streets. Both of these prospects are not fun given the competitive parking situation in Arlington - but it is a small inconvenience to enjoy excellent food at a very reasonable price.

My husband, son and I went to Sibarita tonight and WOW,WOW,WOW. Best tasting restaurant food I have had in a long time. You can't find good mexican food or chinese food around here but you can find the best bolivian food. I was born in bolivia so I know a bit about bolivian food. I had the Silpancho, my mom used to make it for me and this was the next best thing. My husband had the Parrillada, we all kinda ate off this one. My son and my husband loved it. It is a huge plate of meat consisting of steak , sausage, chicken, ribs . comes with rice and fat fries. My son got the Pollo Saltado- HOLY MOLY can you say YUMMY. The sauce that comes on it is tasty and perfect for the dish. There was no talking at the dinner table tonight except to say "this is so good'. We are coming back and everyone should try this place.
