for a Pho place, i was hoping the broth would taste more like what real Pho should taste like.
(2)Trang O.
I've been coming to this place ever since its grand opening day years ago. It's not only convenient to my neck of the woods but one of the better pho places in the area, in my book. The key criteria for good pho for me are: - Tasty broth w/o an inordinate quantity of MSG (more on this below) - Noodles with the right consistency (not too chewy but not mushy either) - Decent amount of meat that's tender but not to the point of falling apart - Abundant fresh herbs & basil - And most important of all, it can't make me drowsy and thirsty for hours afterwards from all the MSG that the cook might have dumped in the broth, because let's face it, all pho broth has MSG (and if you think a particular pho place doesn't put MSG in its broth, you're deluding yourself!) Pho Cong Ly meets all the above critiria. Their meatballs (bo vien) are also good. Best of all, the cha gio (spring rolls) are the best in this area, hands down. They're made of real rice paper and not the lumpia wrap that's typical of many other VN restaurants (lumpia wrap is easier to keep and reheat and stays crispier longer, whereas rice paper has to be cooked and eaten as soon as it's done). These spring rolls are perfectly crisp (and very hot, so be careful biting into them lest you burn your your mouth) and the meat filling done just right. Man, I'm hungry just thinking about them! My only complaint is that you only get a couple of pieces of lettuce and a sprig of basil to accompany the rolls. There ought to be more of a variety of mints and herbs to eat with cha gio when it's served VN-style. I'll let you in on a secret: if you want to have quasi homemade pho and are too lazy to concoct the broth from scratch with beef bones, oxtail, grilled ginger, onions, star anis, etc., you can buy a 1-qt container of broth from Pho Cong Ly to go for a few dollars (it used to be $2 but might have gone up recently) and at home, add your own sliced rare beef, meat balls, bean sprouts, basil, etc. Ah, the comforts of a "homemade" bowl of pho!

Based on the Pho and fried Spring Rolls, this is my favorite Pho restaurant. I was introduced to Pho for the first time here about 10 years ago, and this place is always consistently good. I totally agree with everything that was said in the other reviews with the exception of the following for service and water refills. In my 10 years of going to this restaurant, I have never ONCE had a water refill without drinking the last drop of water and having to call the staff over to refill it after waiting a little while. Not good if you put a little too much hot chilli sauce in your pho. A little story about the service: this may have been a one time thing, but it is definitely worth telling. There is one older vietnamese lady with shoulder length hair that is there almost every time I visit, and her customer service skills definitely need some work. I can remember vividly one night my girlfriends and I went here, and we stayed and talked a little while as we were finishing up our food. It was an hour before they close, but this lady yelled out from the cash register "OK YOU HAVE TO PAY NOW!" - ??? Obviously very rude to customers, but because the food is so great, I'll let that one slide. Also, I'm not a fan of CASH ONLY, although this is common for Pho restaurants. Kinda inconvenient if you never have cash on you.

I have to say this first if i could i would rate this place with a 0 star!!!!! walked in to this restaurant hungry and ready to eat about to enjoy my bowl of pho i was crazing, so we walked in and got seated and got our water, me and two of my buddies ordered our food i like simply wanted a basic bowl of pho, and my two buddies ordered vermicelli bowls, than two other big groups walked in and got seated. My friends got there two vermicelli bowls first as i waited for my food, time went by and the server came by and filled our cups of water, and then i saw one of the big groups get there food next so i just waited, than our server came again and filled up our waters as i realized my friends are almost done with there food, than i saw the other big group get there food and started to get more upset, so the server walks past another two times before i finally asked about my food, she went to the back to see after another few minutes, so i walked out to go smoke a cigarettes because i was extremely upset and they tell me that its coming out. As i am outside debating whether i want to leave, my friends tell me that the server asked my friends if i was upset, (why would you ask them that as nyou can tell i get out of my seat to leave) the serve than walked outside to apologize and tell me my foods ready, i have a problem with that because i shouldnt have to ask about my food when the server has filled up my cup about two times after my friends got there food, and after i didn't get to enjoy my food cause i was filled up on water i go to pay they still charge me full price after what had just happened. THEY SHOULD BE HAPPY MY FRIEND WAS NICE ENOUGH TO TIP. I WILL NEVER EVER DROP ANOTHER PENNY IN THIS PLACE AGAIN, THIS PLACE JUST LOST A BUNCH OF VALUABLE CUSTOMERS FROM ME!!!!!!!!!

This is up there among the best pho experiences I've ever had. The broth was good -- flavorful and salty. Make sure you order a water with your pho! You'll definitely need it. The noodles were done perfectly, not too mushy, and not clumping together. The beef was high quality, and not too tough. They put cilantro in their pho as well, which is a treat that I dream of when I dream of pho. There are also plentiful pho condiments. Note: cash only. It looks like someone voted that they take credit cards, but there's a big sign up front that says "cash only, pay at register." We also ordered lemonade sodas with our number 15s. Those were so yummy and refreshing! Definitely a must. We'll be heading back to this place in the near future.
(4)Michael O.
Yeah, what everybody else said about the pho. The broth alone makes this better than any pho I've had around here. And I will raise the bar to call the spring roll the best I can recall in this area. 4.75 stars if I could do that. Sure to go to 5 with another pho tasting and some tips on what might be better or at least come close to this place. For followers of my ethnic-to-white guy theory, I can't event chart this one. Not only did I not see another non-Asian in the dining room during my entire time there, there were none hiding in the bathroom, working in the kitchen, delivering mail, loitering in the parking lot, or even in cars on that stretch of Backlick Road. This looked like a really deep insider's choice, and the lady friend advised that this has been the case for many many years.
(4)D K.
NO!!!!!! Had the THE BEST CRISPY ROLL!!! Pho was not bad either. Always used to play titanic song in Vietnamese while dining. RIP Cong Ly~
(4)Dinh P.
Hands down the best Pho and spring rolls. I'm still searching for a replacement...

I had almost forgotten about this place since moving into the District, where pho comes in the form of really bad at the vietnamese place in Cleveland Park, or passable at Pho 75 in Rosslyn. I don't know how I discovered this place, but I do remember that my ex and I would come here at least once a week for years. Its in a strange location, a random strip mall in Springfield, flanked by an outdated computer repair shop (or at least it was) and an Outback Steakhouse. An unlikely place for savory pho. This joint has a family sort of feel, not the cafeteria-style madness of the typical pho joint. The broth is done to perfection. I can say this confidently, even not being vietnamese, because I spent the better part of two weeks in Vietnam trying to find the most savory pho I could (and in Vietnam, it costs $1 and is traditionally eaten for breakfast!). The broth outshines its counterparts in Vietnam. Blasphemy? Absolutely not. As Carlo X points out, there are also extremely tasty spring rolls here. In fact, these are the only spring rolls I will eat. Sometimes you can walk in and see a couple ladies, with a huuuuge bowl of spring roll filling and the rice wrappers chatting and wrapping the spring rolls up. They are usually sitting at one of the empty tables and is a good sign that your spring rolls are fresh. Make sure you get the fried spring rolls. I know most of us think of the fresh ones when we think vietnamese spring rolls, but these are the best, most perfectly cooked, and delicious fried spring rolls. And I don't like fried food. But I love these. Think about that.

Was so excited to hear that Pho Cong Ly (previously located in Springfield, VA) is now open again at a new location not too far from where I live. We went there during their first week of grand opening. The restaurant was packed. The servers seem unenthusiastic about their job. The wait was long for just about everything. It took almost or over 30 minutes for a server to come take our orders. It took another 45 minutes for the food to come out. They forgot our appetizer (spring rolls) and drinks. The Pho was salty and barely had any meat. I was so disappointed. I remember the old Pho Cong Ly had decent Pho back then. Perhaps they have a new chef? I couldn't finish my bowl because it was too salty. The servers there barely smiled and didn't seem very experienced. But then it wasn't their fault that the service was so slow. The restaurant owners should've hired more help - especially for a busy opening week. Instead there were 2-3 servers serving a full restaurant. No wonder they weren't that friendly. Being a fan of the original Pho Cong Ly, I will give the restaurant a second chance and tried their Bun Bo Hue dish. It was good. Still ... this is a huge sign that they should hire more servers! And perhaps lessen the salt or fish sauce in their Pho pot? Btw, must give them high points for the ambience. The restaurant looks stylish with red walls and black & white photographs. Just ... please hire more experienced, friendly servers! 3 stars because the BBH saved the day and the decoration is nice. If not, it would've been a 2-star review.
(3)Vee R.
20 years of my life... so sad.. thank you for the memories... Not the best Pho in town, but the Egg rolls are!!! 5 stars for sentimental value.. 3 stars for the Pho 5 stars for the Egg rolls 5 stars for the service (took me 2 years of coming in everyday to earn the great service!)
(5)Lexi K.
This place isn't bad. I have only done take out though, so I have no idea about their customer service in the restaurant. The food is decent. I've gotten it a few times. It's a little bland, the vegetarian one at least. But, with that said, I've gone back for more. So, I'd say if you're sick of Subway and Arianna's in that neighborhood, it's worth a few visits.
(3)Michael L.
I'm biased towards this restaurant because I grew up near this place & it is hands down my favorite Pho place. They only offer Pho and a few non-Pho side dishes, but that's okay because they do Pho GOOD. The only place that comes close is Pho 75 in Falls Church. I heard that Pho Cong Ly was closing down soon so I felt entitled to put on a few good words about the place.
(5)Andrew D.
This is my favorite little pho place and I think the same little old Vietnamese people have been working here since i was kid. This is the best pho in the area, but I wont take anyone else here; they'll disturb the ambiance.
(5)vinnie t.
I ONLY come here for their egg rolls. that should tell you how much I like their pho. egg rolls are the bomb here! sad I go there just for the egg rolls and not the pho. stay away from the pho...you've been warned!
(2)Pugsly W.
I've been coming here for a long time. I believe this is one of the decent places to eat pho in the Springfield area. Their spring rolls are really good too.
(4)Carol F.
I'm a fan. There are several great things you'll enjoy at this pho joint.. First, really delicious broth. Totally great for warming up on a cold day, or just to satisfy your soup craving. Second, they give you tons of meat, and I mean TONS. The last time I went I ordered the flank and brisket, and I wanna say I had like 20 long pieces of meat. It was almost overwhelming.. I still had tons of leftover meat once my noodles were gone. Overall pretty good place to get your pho fix!
(4)Kaitlin E.
This was the best beef fried rice I've ever had and I ordered it delivery. It was fresh and delicious. I also liked the chicken pho. The spring rolls were just alright. I ordered online through the yelp app and it transferred my order to the newer "yelp eat24" app where I could see that my order was confirmed, see the guaranteed delivery time, watch the timer to see how long ago I placed my order, and it paid for the purchase plus left a tip. Super easy, convenient, and helpful. I definitely recommend both this restaurant and using yelp to order from them pick or delivery.

Pho Cong Ly was the hot spot for pho back in the days when it was next to Outback Steakhouse. It went away for awhile and made a comeback! The restaurant is housed in the Backlick Shopping Center along with Gold's Gym, Dollar Tree, PNC Bank, and Giant grocery store. The boyfriend and I dined here for lunch the other week. We ordered the egg rolls (they've always been known for these) to share. He ordered pho and I ordered a vermicelli bowl with grilled beef. I tasted the pho and it was flavorful, but I'll be sure to update my review when I order it next time as an entree. The vermicelli bowl was a generous portion and a good ratio of veggies to meat. The service was slow, and there were several dirty tables (the server had to clean a table before we were sat), but overall our experience was okay. My boyfriend raves about the pho here, so I'm sure we'll be back again soon.
(3)Brenda K.
I ts too hot for pho so I ordered their pork ban mi. Delicious! Hot off the grill pork. Bread wasn't as good as Washington sandwich.. my go to for this Vietnamese sandwich...but i am happy not to eat in the car. Other people seemed delighted with the pho. !will be back. Service was fine today.
(4)Jane P.
This place had good pho, boba tea, and service. The only thing I would say they can improve on is having food come out all at once. I got the piña colada boba tea and this was so good that We ordered another one. It was sweet and had a hint of tartness- at first I thought it was yogurt boba tea. Their pho was flavorful and tasted great. It satisfied my soup craving.

Pho Cong Ly is yet another stop on my quest to find the perfect bowl of pho! This place is near and dear to me because it relocated from Springfield not too far away from where I grew up. This version is definitely a huge improvement from the original because it's more modernized and clean. The spring rolls were some of the best that I've had in this area. You know how some spring rolls are just plain? These are not those simple rolls, my friend. These are the legit cha gio which have that irresistible crunchy exterior. The pho broth definitely left me wanting more flavor. I added some hot chili oil and that definitely helped...I learned from my fellow pho lovers that this may have been "top of the pot" broth so I wouldn't mind giving it another try. I loved the avocado smoothie but the boba was just not right so next time I'd order it without. I've heard that they use real fruit for a lot of their smoothies so that's a fresh tip! Overall... #14 Pho = 3 stars Cha Gio spring rolls = 5 stars Avocado bubble tea = 4 stars

Came here on whim. My brother tried pho for the first time here and he liked it. I tried a bahn mi sandwich with stir fry meat. And it was very tasty. I was glad to finally try one. I added a little Siracha like the ad said and it did a nice kick of flavor for it. I love Korean food. It was nice here. Service wasn't bad but wasn't good either. Once they came and got our order we didn't see them anymore I actually had to stand up like I was going to walk out for them to go print out the bill. Lol. They didn't want me to walk out on the bill lol it was a nice cheap meal. 3 people and light lunch for around 25$. It's not the best I know but definitely a place to try and perhaps go back.
(4)S T.
Came here because one reviewer indicated that they have the best Bun Bo Hue in Metro DC. Well, I've tried it and would have to disagree. I would say it was "A-OK". The beef shank was way too tough. The broth didn't have enough lemongrass flavor. The vegetable platter that came with it was very basic. If you're a fan of Bun Bo Hue, I would recommend Pho 102 in Chantilly. I think they make it the best in the area.
(3)Daniel H.
Tried calling in a delivery order and the lady that took my call could not even get my name, address and phone number. She kept asking me over and over. Literally repeated myself so many times and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the phone reception. Was on the phone for 10min and she still couldnt get my information down. Got so frustrated that i told her nevermind and hung up and opted for chinese instead. Dont think i will try again.
(1)Wendy N.
The soups are good! But the timing..... Every time I order food they always say 10 minutes and when I go and pick it up, I have to wait an extra 10 minutes, I don't mind though. Customer service is alright. But I love the food and I'll never stop coming!!!!! I'm addicted to the summer rolls! The lady's are great! Won't regret the food!

So let's get the major con out of the way: the service. It's indifferent, aloof and can be borderline rude. Sadly, it's the norm in Viet restaurants (Four Sisters and Minh's are huge exceptions and their clientele reflects it) so this is negligent. The food, however, is something else. It's outstanding. When I was growing up and Little Saigon was located in present-day Clarendon, places this good were everywhere. But times have changed and it's hit or miss, especially when you get further away from Eden Center, the Viet epicenter. So this place is a gem. Yes, the pho is wonderful and packed with flavor, but one should explore the other authentic Viet delicacies on the menu like the spicy, pungent Bun Bo Hue (which Anthony Bourdain actually holds in higher regard than pho). While it lacks some ingredients that a true Viet household would include, it does come with the requisite pork knuckle. The Cha Ca Thang Long (broiled catfish), the shrimp and sweet potato fritter appetizer, the Banh Xeo are all quality renditions that any Viet would be happy with. So if you haven't, hit up this place. It's damn good.
(4)T C.
First time, ordered carry out- very polite staff! Meals cooked promptly, and they know how to make pho! Delicious! So full, and satisfied! Great portions; chicken bowl & summer rolls!
(5)Le L.
This place has been open around my place for awhile now but this was the first time i ever try it. I couldn't say they're bad but the pho was okay. I mean it is nothing special or extremely catch my attention. I came here on a monday night with my boyfriend, so of course the place wasn't packed. We got our food pretty fast. The service was okay, all he did was greeted us at the door but nothing else. He didn't come back to refill our water or even ask if everything was okay. I didn't like their service much. the only reason I will come back for this place is if Im in the mood for pho since this place is literally like 5 min drive from my house.
(3)John P.
I say 2.5 stars is a balance of 4 stars for food and 1 stars for service. The pho is good. The egg rolls are great. The rice dices and sour fish soup are pretty good too. Some of the other soups, bun bo hue and conch soup, are ok. The service though is horrible. I order the exact same bowl of pho everytime i go which was once to twice a week (the wife is the one that tries the other dishes) but yet they get my order wrong 9 out of 10 times. At that point i might as well say give me pho and let them surprise me. Come on man, the food waste cost must be outrageous unless they are just picking things out and swapping it but considering how long i wait for the correct order, i doubt that. I hear you repeating the order as you walk away while im still ordering, so why is it always wrong.
(3)Michelle B.
Great pho! They put a lot more noodles in the pho than other pho places I've been to in the area, a lot more meat, and bigger portions too. You definitely got your money's worth here. I tried it for the first time last night and I was impressed. The decor was very nice and appropriate. The waiters were kind and the food came pretty quick. We also got some summer rolls which were to die for. So delicious, I would get them again. The peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls was SO good. It also came with a lot (unlike other places that give you a little dab of the sauce). Definitely one of my favorite pho places that I've been to, I'll definitely be going back, I don't even have anything bad to say, it was a good experience.
(5)Jillarae R.
I only come here for two reasons: the prices and the pho! Ok, I lied. The spring rolls and vermicelli are good, too. Being a new resident in the area, I was happy to find this place somewhat closet to home. The prices are comparable to back home and portions aren't bad either. It was an overall good experience. My only complaint is that when I prepare my pho, I like extra limes. I was kind of bummed when a plate of lemons came out but you know what they say... when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade! This place is worth checking out, but it does get pretty busy.
(4)Michelle S.
I love the pho here it's full of flavor. However, the staff are unfriendly and aren't helpful.
(4)Charles H.
Pho Cong Ly has been my home pho ever (no pun intended). I was a frequent customer at their previous location off of Backlick by Outback. Obviously, I was elated to see their re-opening by Gold's Gym in the Bradlick Shopping Center. I ordered my usual combination Pho (Dac Biet) and Banh Xeo. The waitress was surprised I could finish both dishes by myself. The broth was warm and flavorful with the right amount of noodles and meat. Banh xeo was crispy and not too oily from the deep fried cooking. Service was friendly as to be expected.
(4)Dean R.
Good pho, also had the lemon chicken - portion size is good and food is good. The atmosphere is nice and the decor is better than most pho restaurants. Will be returning :)
(4)Krystal A.
I came here for dinner tonight with my 3.5 year old niece. We ordered spring rolls, pho, and banh xeo. The springs rolls are some of the best spring rolls I've ever had. They are super crispy, with a texture unlike most places. The pho and banh xeo were both tasty as well. The reason for the three stars is because I was disappointed with the service. I've never been to a pho place where they didn't bring out the customary bean sprouts, herbs, lime, and jalapeños. I looked around me and all the other tables had them, but it seems like they forgot about my table, which was odd since I was smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and the tables behind me and in front of me were both seated after me, but both had the plates of sprouts and etc. No biggie, since they brought it out when I asked for it. The server never came back to fill the water glass, when he did this for all the tables around me. Though the food is good, I had an overall feeling that I my table was being ignored.
(3)Roly M.
I give their Pho 5 stars cause it's very tasty. The 2 stars are for the waiter, he was on slow motion to bring out my order, took a long time and he wasn't friendly :(
(2)Kristy B.
They have great pho. It is hard to find good pho at restaurants....one of the better ones I have had in the area.
(5)Nancy G.
I go here evvvvvverytime im in NOVA ..the pho hits the spot everytime...best hangover spot!
(5)Ideen S.
PHONOMENAL! Just got back from this delicious, plentiful, and affordable meal; and I'm feeling pretty damn good. Given its humble location in the middle of a strip mall, one would never think that Pho Cong Ly would be a good experience; but after entering, you can see the nice furniture and décor. I was pleasantly surprised! And for the food, I had the Summer Rolls w/ Peanut Sauce as an appetizer. Healthy, substantial, and tasty. For the main course, I had a large bowl of Beef Pho. Also, healthy, SUBSTANTIAL, and tasty. And I washed it down with some fresh Coconut Juice, which you can see included actual cuts of coconut meat (yes, the inside substance of a coconut is called "meat"). I definitely recommend checking this place out; especially if you can get a deal (which we did through Specialious).
(5)Julia N.
Back in my younger days, Pho Cong Ly was my favorite pho place when it was in the same shopping center as Outback Steakhouse. When it closed down, younger me was sad. Yes. Much sad. It's nice to know that Pho Cong Ly hasn't lost their touch. It seems they have more variety to their menu from what I can remember (which was YEARS ago though). Their Ca Thang Long is very commendable. Their Bun Cha Hanoi is also pretty good. I ordered the Pho Ga (chicken pho) and even had the choice of what kind of meat I wanted. Obviously I picked the thigh/dark meat since i just can't stand the dryness of white meat. That already lightened up my mood since dry meats tend to put me in a bad mood.
(4)Linda P.
This is one of my favorite Vietnamese pho restaurants. Other favorite dishes include beef stew with French bread, eggrolls, combo broken rice and beef vermicelli. I also like the ambiance there and the staff is very quick and friendly.
(5)Art P.
I was one of the first customers at Pho Cong Ly, but somehow another Yelper beat me to the first review so I put it off to now. They had some kinks to work out initially, but they seem to have found their groove now as they are always busy...but not TOO busy. Pho Cong Ly as you can see from the pics has more attractive decor & furnishings than a typical Pho spot. The servers are genuinely friendly and they take credit cards which also sets them apart from many other more typical Pho restaurants. The Pho itself is not quite as good as other local favorites, but few reach that five star level. Overall though, I do recommend Pho Cong Ly as it has a warm atmosphere and is more relaxed than most of the others.
(4)Kelly C.
Having tried a few pho places living in the hub of the best Asian food in northern VA (Annandale/Springfield), I really enjoyed my food here. I had the Tai Pho and the summer rolls. The summer rolls were good, but the shrimp had an extremely fishy/shrimpy smell and flavor that's not usually typical (that's why I'm giving 4 stars) and am hoping the shrimp weren't bad and that they cooked them in fish sauce or something to explain the fishyness. The pho was very flavorful and I thought the broth was fantastic. They used a lot of cilantro which I loved and the small bowl filled me up. Staff was super friendly as well, if you are in north Springfield and don't want a far trek for decent pho, definitely check this place out.
(4)Kelsie K.
The only good thing going for this place is the food. The service is absolutely terrible. We were never asked how we were doing during our meal or if we needed anything. Our group had five people and everyone of us ran out of water before finishing our meals. And no one came by to refill any of our cups. When one of the staff came by to clean up our table he said "gimme"... I tried to get the attention of the staff three times for the check, each time they made eye contact with me and then walked away. The best bet is to order carry out and deal with the staff as little as possible.
(1)Alex F.
I was really happy when this place opened, I used to live very close to this Pho joint and would go here about once every two weeks. I think they have decent Pho and some good specialties like their Spicy Hue Pho, which I would often get. Their broth is a little inconsistent, though, and would be thin one day and just right another day. I also noticed that the noodles were sometimes undercooked and too firm, still in their "brick" shape. When the Pho was good, it was very rich and delicious, with just the right amount of flavor and additions. The service here is like many Asian lunch restaurants, where they don't attend to your table very often and sort of expect you to go up to the register to pay. I haven't been to SE Asia, but I have a hunch that this is the style of service that they have for many of these types of restaurants. It's good enough when you're ordering, though. Overall, this place was great for when I lived closer, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to get a bowl of Pho here.
(3)Jack L.
Had dinner here and got food poison not sure if it was because the meat gone bad or because my stomach is not good

I've found my new viet spot. It's too bad I live all the way in Maryland but the food is definitely worth the trip. The service was very pleasant and the ambiance was cozy yet inviting. Two descriptions you never get from a Vietnamese restaurant. This restaurant outdo any in Va., even Eden Center. Yes I did! It's better than any restaurant in Eden center which I find too be a little rough around the edges and unfriendly. The beef soup is spot on. Everything from the choice of meat and broth makes this dish absolutely perfect. Similar to what my mom made but even better. Eat this with the freshly toasted baguette and you'll be in heaven. I also had the bun Bo hue which I absolutely adore. I've had this at other places which always came with a thick rim of oil, we'll not this place. I don't know how they do it but the broth is not only flavorful and spicy but there is little if any grease floating on top. You can tell the broth is homemade, no paste here. I ordered mine with soft tendon, yum...ask and you shall receive. One more thing you absolutely have to try is the freaking slap your momma in the face egg rolls! This isn't like any that you've had. Now I've had eggs rolls wrapped in the same wrapper as summer rolls but this one is different. I can't put my finger on what they do with these. The wrapper is super crispy but moist as well. Does that even make sense? Well it made sense in my tummy. Try it!!
(5)Steve S.
I decide to try Pho here because of the positive reviews. People in Springfield/Annandale apparently don't know Pho. I was ok but, just ok. The broth was weak and lacked a depth of flavor. The condiments were nice though and abundant. Also, the meat and noodles were very good & well cooked but, Pho is all about the broth isn't it? The wait staff was attentive and very pleasant. If you need a quick fix & are in the area, it's a great place to go. But, if you are looking for Pho to fix you soul, look elsewhere. That all said I do plan to go back to try the Bun Bo Hue, I saw another guy eating some & it looked tasty.

Delicious authentic Vietnamese cuisine. They have a lot of options and allow you to try a variety of Vietnamese dishes unlike other restaurants around this area. The bun bo hue soup is my favorite, very tasty and a large sized portion. The fried spring rolls are amazing, crispy, full of flavor and very filling. Have not had a dish that I did not like yet. Highly recommend this for your go-to spot for great Vietnamese food. It also has a modern ambiance, quiet and clean environment.

I like this place a lot. Their pho' is good; I normally get the chicken and it's nice, big pieces of white meat that you can identify. The broth is flavorful and they give you a lot of condiments. They were one of the first places I knew of to go back to limes during the Great Lime Drought of 2014. Their deep fried spring rolls are also tasty. As of writing, they do a Monday and Thursday special which involves a regular bowl of pho', fried spring roll, and a can of soda for under $10. The place is always pretty clean. The only downside is that service is a little hit and miss, regardless of how busy they are. Sometimes, it's fantastic and other times it's a little lacking.

Leave it short and semi sweet on this one. Decent rolls and variety of options as far as pho goes.. I still stick to the common favorites to be assured i am getting what I truly want.

Haven't had Pho yet!! But had their shakey beef (I think that's the name) with rice and salad and it was great! Def plan on going back to try other items

I barely write any comment for any place I go to. But I think this place deserves a compliment. I gave this place a try cause it is close to my place. I did not expect much when I came to this place. But I was wrong. The decoration is nice and pleasant. They have some nice pictures of vietnam and some traditional musical instruments on the wall. The service was good too, quick and friendly. The fresh summer rolls and the crispy spring rolls are so yummy!! You have to give these a try!!! I have never tried that good spring rolls and summer rolls anywhere else! The summer rolls are fresh and tasty. It has perfect size and is a standard of summer rolls. Everything were fresh. The crispy summer rolls are extremely delicious. I can bite a few pieces of shrimp inside them. so yummy! And the crispy rolls are as crunchy as you can imagine. I am really impressed with the fresh summer rolls and the crispy spring rolls! I highly recommend these!! Pho is good. It comes in a bigger portion than other places. They put a lot more meat too. I'll def come back to try different dishes. Great work.

Great restaurant to order Pho for delivery. Their spring rolls and fried chxn wings are great. All the food arrived hot and fast!
(4)A D.
I've had good experience with their food, (the pho' here is pretty good...) but their customer service is a bit lacking. I order from them for my office for lunch. Their delivery fee and order minimum changes according to the person you speak to. Plus they charge an additional "box carry out" charge for each order? I'd never heard of that in addition to the delivery fee before. Today specifically the delivery guy came, but didn't bring any change with him so we had to rally around the office for change for a $20 bill. I still enjoy their food here, but I will be looking for another place to order food from for office delivered lunches.

I've visited this newer pho restaurant 5+ times this year, and as far as pho restaurants in the area go, it has an attractive design. I've only ever had the vegetarian pho chay, but it has an intensely flavorful broth and a (rare) great mix of vegetables and tofu. Sometimes the service is a little on the slower side but still worth visiting.
(4)Elina Y.
Huge improvement on service. Much more attentive and serviceable. Eggrolls are still the same: delectable. Life is good.

This is my new go-to spot for some good Pho. I literally live right down the street - less than a 5 min drive if Braddock Road cooperates! It is soooo very good! It's flavorful but also decently priced! I usually get it to-go but I've eaten-in once before and the service was pretty good! This particular review is for the take-out I get. I walk right in and straight to the counter at the back. I usually don't stray too far from their namesake with my ordering. I get a large bowl with top round and well-done flank. After taking my order and payment, I usually have to wait for about 5-10 mins (sitting at a table) considering the time I come and how busy they are. Did I mention they have Food Network playing on the tv behind the desk? And I always conveniently come when Cupcake Wars is on? Win! Anyways, they bring the order out quickly! When I get home, I get to experience the amazingness that is Pho Cong Ly. If you've never gotten pho to-go then let me explain how it comes. You get a tall plastic container with a lid that holds the savory broth. You also get a square styrofoam container - within this you find all the ingredients necessary for delicious pho. Since I get two types of meat, the well done flank comes as it describes - well done - while the top round comes wrapped in plastic wrap raw. I pour the broth into a pot, followed by the noodles, the onions&cilantro, and the meat. The raw meat will cook within 2 mins since it is so thin and the broth is so hot. Time to EAT! Once I've transferred it to a massive bowl - which you need to invest in as an at-home pho eater - I load it up with bean sprouts, basil, and sriracha and dig in! Really good pho here. I will try other things too - one day!

I think they have good crispy summer rolls. I've been here 4-5 times but one time I came here it wasn't as good so I had to take off a star. Their bon bo hue is better than their Pho. I'd ask for the bon bo hue with pho noodles. It's pretty good. 8.95. Service is average. No line/wait. Good for hangovers. One of the better Pho places in Annandale but not where most of the other restaurants are located. I was coming from DC and kind of had to go out of the way.
(4)Frank V.
Pho Cong Ly is a small, sparsely decorated pho place located in Annandale, Virginia located in a shopping center at the intersection of Braddock Road and Backlick Road. It's a small place and I have never seen a crowd here, which makes me wonder why since the food and service are both quite good. I only get noodles and rolls at this place and they're great every time. For dessert I usually get Flan, which is very good, creamy, flavorful, and sweet, and I tried the Tiramisu once and although the flavor was good, it was fresh out of the freezer and still a bit too hard to enjoy. Service is always good and consistent. My preferred pho place despite having only tried a limited menu.
(4)Jon M.
Best place to get your pho fix in Springfield.
(5)Adan R.
Really nice modern...yes I said modern Pho place. Pho broth was delicious and perfectly packed with noodles and meat assortment. Also the serve bubble tea which is a plus. Ordered a lychee bubble tea, few minutes later was told they were out of the fruit. The server recommended Longan as an alternative. HOLY SHIT was that the greatest accident alternative ever. Ordered a second one to go.
(4)Roxy H.
I went after church because it was close by. I wasn't in the mood for something heavy. I had crispy spring rolls and #14 Pho for $13.20. The waiter was nice and checked on me a couple of times and even joked with me. Overall it was a nice place and will come here again.
(4)Amy H.
Went on a rainy day. The service is great, place is really clean and the broth is amazing. All of the veggies are prepared fresh and the meat is so tasty. So glad I found this place right in the heart of Springfield. My new "go-to" for pho.
(4)Amanda E.
When we relocated to the Springfield area, we were excited to be near one of his favorite Vietnamese restaurants from years ago. Unfortunately, Pho Cong Ly Backlick Road had closed up shop and left before we were able to move in. Imagine my delight when driving to Annandale I noticed a Pho Cong Ly sign in another shopping center off Braddock Road. We scoped it out last week as I was in dire need of pho. True to his memory, the cha gio (fried spring rolls) were still top notch. The goi cuon (summer rolls) rice paper rolls were too wet and breaking apart. Tasty, but broken. Hey, it was 8:30 and they close at 9. I've learned not to expect the best when folks are trying to close up for the night. Their pho was OK, but per usual Pho 75 is still the winner. We'll definitely be back for other dishes as it's closer than trekking to Eden Center for other prepared dishes when I don't want to cook. It appears as though they've adopted a new management style, which means a sparkling restaurant, merchandise (Cha Gio T-shirts, anyone?) and credit card machines FTW.
(4)Avocado N.
I was so disappointed when the first location closed....and overjoyed when I receive word they've reopened! Loved the decor and choice of music (jazz) wafting in the background.... not the normal drab, un attention to detail and downright dirty as you would find in other similar establishments. I had the seafood pho, which was "ok", I've actually had better.....other than that, the chicken wings and summer rolls were awesome.... Definitely will return......
(4)A D.
I absolutely love their bun bo hue soup. It is a savory authentic vietnamese noodle soup with great flavors and tender beef. I have ordered this soup at other vietnamese restaurants but this is by far my favorite one. Their spring rolls are delicious and perfectly crisp! Most vietnamese restaurants tend to make small-sized spring rolls with inadequate filling but Pho Cong Ly serves generous sized crispy spring rolls with a lot of filling and flavors that melt in your mouth when mixed with the dipping sauce. The fried wings are also one of my favorites. They're fresh and also perfectly crisp with a great taste. With this dish you also get a generous serving size per order. The banh mi sandwiches are also very yummy. I have tried all the different meats. Each banh mi meat is very flavorful and well marinated. The other thing I really enjoy about this place is their wide variety of vietnamese cuisine. You don't see such a variety of authentic dishes very often. Most places are limited to pho noodle soups but there are so many other great traditional meals. Great place for lunch or dinner! Highly recommend it!! I go here frequently.
(5)Sunny C.
The first three times were excellent. Then one day, gross! Gross broth (tasted like mop water), gross sanitation (the rags they used to wipe the table stunk! and the whole place smelled like rotten old rags!) Too bad because it's so close to my house. Never going there again. I had that smell in my nostrils for days.
(1)Sinbat S.
Tried many Pho restaurants in the Northern VA area but always go back to Pho Cong Ly. They do have the best flavored Pho soup anywhere around..except for this Pho place in Eden Center that I do not remember the name. Their food is very consistent from their store in Springfield later moved to Annandale, year after year. The service is adequate but you are going there for the food; not for the decor nor for the service. This is not Ruth's Chris or Morton's and yet that's another story.... When you are done, go up to the register and pay for it! You should try this place.
(4)Sheri G.
SPRING ROLLS! That's all you need to know about this place. They are amazing. (The pho and vermicelli are pretty good too. The food and service have really improved since they first opened. I'm glad I didn't give up on them.)
(4)Dino S.
I have eaten here twice and the Pho has been hearty and flavorful on both occasions. The decor is modern and much more inviting than what you typically find from an eatery in a strip mall. If your nearby and craving Pho this place is certainly worth a try.
(4)Steve M.
Really good Classic Vietnamese pho restaurant. Very tasty chicken pho with lots of noodles and interesting blend of herbs and veggies. Small bowl filled me up! Try their crunchy spring rolls. They are excellent. Great group date night. Quiet place. Attentive staff. I will go back for sure. Pricing was reasonable for the high quality food.
(4)V W.
My first visit although my relatives have been here several times. Upfront, the food we ordered was generally good with ample portions. Favorite is the grilled catfish vermicelli and the duck noodle soup is also a nice variant for pho. Many asians dine here and the cooks do a very good job. Prices are reasonable. As other reviewers have reported, service is not so great...for us it was slow and required us to request water, fish sauce and a clean bowl. We did not bother waiting for the bill and just went up to pay it. Other diners also experienced slow service. I was surprised how busy the place was for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant is nicely decorated but noise level is high with nearly a full house. It's in a neighborhood mall and the closest parking spaces were filled. Enjoy the food but the service level is typical of asian restaurants (neither fast nor attentive). Certainly will dine here again.
(3)Pearl D.
Nice and clean inside. Food was good. Had the vermicelli and summer rolls. Fresh and healthy, and portions seemed to be right. You may find better Pho restaurants, but this is quick for lunch and fairly priced. The staff can improve. Not very friendly nor enthused about the service!
(3)Stephanie T.
This was the best pho place hands down in the area. I was going here for the last 5 years. It was a Sunday routine for my now husband. We still have not found a replacement, or any place that makes those egg rolls. Please post if they open at a new location!
(5)Mimi P.
Ai yyai yai. Total disaster. Being that this place opened right around the corner from my house, I had to try this place out. I was overly excited and was very hopeful that the opening of this establishment would mean that I wouldn't have to drive to Eden Ctr for a nice bowl of pho.... I was so excited my bf and I took my family who came to visit from out of town to visit them on their opening day. Due to time constraint, I had to leave after waiting an hour for food. I inquired about t the food -whether it will come within five minutes. They looked unsure, so I had to tell them to cancel my order. Mind you, I came @ 2:30pm and there were only 5 other parties there. It was definitely after the lunch rush. So I returned a couple days later, and the verdict is that they are lacking in the Pho department for a restaurant with Pho in their name. Odd. I ordered their "Special Cong Ly Pho" priced @ 9$. I was thinking that it's a little pricey for pho, but I don't mind paying more if it had the works. There was nothing special about their house pho; it lacked flavor and the amount of meat/toppings was nothing spectacular. Quite frankly, I've had 'ordinary' or ' non-special' pho bowls at other establishments that tasted better =/ and was much more generous with their toppings. I was utterly disappointed that Cong Ly wouldn't be a Pho/Vietnamese option in Annandale. I digress...
(2)Ursula Maria P.
I want to see this place THRIVE, I was excited to try it out. I ordered take out and devoured this meal at home. The veggie spring rolls are to die for. The Pho ... a little bland, but satisfactory. However, I woke up the next day and had a yucly taste ... extremely thirsty. I suspect MSG, but could be wrong. I will ask the next time I go. Not too motivated to go back and eat there again.
(2)Kim V.
Decided to try this place once with my bf, and another time with a couple of friends. They have the word "pho" in their name but when we order pho, it came out super slow. The service is pretty slow, hopefully the staff can pick it up and work harder. The food is average. I ordered their pork and rice, and the pork came out on sticks and it was a bit hard to pull the pork off the sticks. The pork should be cut off the sticks to be easier for customers to eat. Their bun bo hue was bland and did not have enough flavor a friend of mine that order it had said. And their bun rieu was a little watered down. The restaurant tries to lure in customers with their layout/design and should I even say "hip" well they play hip hop songs as their background music both times that I was eating there. But their service could use a bit more improving, and their food is pretty average. Decent to eat because it's close to home, but I rather go eat at pho golden cow or pho hoa.
(2)Christina M.
I enjoy this place. I like how it's close to home and it has a small vegetarian menu. The vegetarian pho tastes really good too!
(4)Linda N.
My favorite thing about the lunch I had here was being able to get vegetarian pho for my daughter-she's really missed pho, since she became a pescetarian & she said her pho was delicious, but needed more noodles. I tried a spoonful & I thought it was pretty good, although the broccoli sort of overwhelmed the broth. The rest of us had pho ga, which was great. I've never had a really bad pho ga yet (maybe I don't eat it often enough to appreciate the nuances), the accompaniments were fresh, springs rolls were excellent, & the service was efficient & pleasant.
(4)Richard P.
So I never been to the Pho Cong Ly when it was opened at the Springfield location, so I decided to try it out as it reopened in the new location in the Bradlick shopping center. Upon walking in, I noticed that the decor was nice with vibrant wall colors and picture frames. There were lines of people waiting so I thought this must be the spot. As the minutes passed by, I started noticing little errors, such as a server bringing out 20 pairs of chopsticks to our table when we only had 6 people. The service was slow and the servers were all over the place with no sense of order. We waited quite awhile for our food and they seem to be confuse at what we ordered as well. As for the broth, it tasted bland which needed excessive pouring of the hoisin sauce and siracha sauce. The overall experience was not spectacular due to us going there at the Grand Reopening. I understand the craziness they must be going through, so I shall return there after a month or to check them out again to see if the service and food improve by then.
(2)Samnang M.
Very clean decor, fancy bowls, great service, good appitizer, Only knock is that the portions are pretty small.
(4)Nam K.
Been going to this restaurant for over 20 years now. They'e relocated and upgraded the restaurant proving even more tasty Vietnamese cuisine. Pho has always been awesome here. I've never had anything I did not like at this place. Only complaint over the years has been that my water glass sometimes stays empty for too long - that's not so bad. Highly recommend.
(4)David L.
My roommate and I had dinner here tonight. We live in the area and like to try all the pho places around the Annandale and Alexandria area. This place was pretty good. It had a good atmosphere and it was clean. The broth was really good as well as the summer and spring rolls. Their springs rolls were different but really good. We also tried their bubble tea, it was standard. All in all good experience and fairly priced.
(4)Brenda D.
The pho broth is a little sweet and their meat is cut a little thick. But really good service and the place looks new and clean.
(3)L N.
It is a Pho place so I will just talk about pho. I know my pho and the pho in this place is pho king bad.
(1)Nick H.
I've said on my occasions that I'm a pho afficionado. Being that I'm a pho afficionado, I'll try every pho restaurant regardless of whether it has a good reputation or not. Pho Cong Ly...most definitely has a good one. In Northern Virginia, where good pho is plentiful, PCL is one of the restaurants that has withstood the test of time. And for good reason. The pho broth is flavorful and delicious. The aroma of the soup is almost therapeutic in its strength. The spring rolls are crispy and fresh. And the fish sauce here is delicious. For decades, this staple of Vietnamese cuisine has been a regular locale for my family, tucked away in the corners of Springfield. If you like pho, and haven't tried this spot yet, make it your lunch next time you're in the S-field area.
(4)Judith L.
You won't find much more than pho here, which kind of surprised me since I'm so used to variety at most of the other Vietnamese places that I go to. Usually, a limited menu would be a hindrance in my eyes: but the pho and spring rolls were awesome. The spring rolls were super crunchy, super delicious, and served hot. Hot as in: I took a bite and realized how hot it was and opened my mouth and blew out air in an attempt to cool off the overheated oven that was my mouth. But the spring rolls were so tasty that I was willing to look like a fool while I devoured them. Mmmmm... The pho came out soon after. The broth looked like it had potential: not too light, not too dark, and it smelled delicious. A spoonful revealed a decent broth, that was just made better by a couple dashes of hoisin and sriracha (which I lovingly call "sri-rahrah"). A small pho and springrolls are enough to satisfy a moderate appetite, but if you're hungry then get the large. Decent prices: I think it was $16 for two small bowls of pho and an order of spring rolls. I'd definitely go back, the spring rolls alone are enough to tempt me if I have a craving.
(4)Joshua P.
This is my third time here, and I think it is my favorite Pho place to go! At first they were a little rough with the service but now on top of their game! Food is fresh, love the coconut water and the summer/springs rolls are worth getting. i dont think you can go wrong with this place.
(5)Burger B.
I don't understand what all the hype is about. PCL is just another "pho barn", as the hubby would say -- a large, unimpressive structure with little ambiance in which pho is mass produced. The broth was not particularly flavorful. The cha gio (egg rolls) were decent, though the fish sauce was too sweet and thick. Ordinarily, when you see a restaurant that serves only *one* thing on their menu, you would expect that thing to be stellar. In our case, we found the pho sub-par. It's a shame they didn't offer any other appetizers.
(2)Carolyn A.
The food arrived quickly and tasted great! Had spring rolls, summer rolls, pho, and a crispy crepe for a reasonable price. I'm so glad I found this place.
(5)Pamela T.
The food is really good and the place is really clean and calm. Not so noisy. The waiters and waitresses are friendly. For the record the place is owned the sons and daughters of the person who previously owned pho cong ly in springfield. That's why it has different people working there. I'm friends with someone that's works there
(5)Rhys L.
If you enjoying authentic pho this isn't a place for you. Place is nice seem very clean, though the foods aren't good at all.
(1)Juliet K.
this place opened up fairly recently near my work so we all came for lunch. i ordered the pork vermicelli since i was not in the mood for pho. we also ordered summer rolls. the summer rolls were amazing. they put some other herbal leafy green thing in there that gives it another depth of flavor that i never tasted before. so that was a lovely surprise. dont forget to put some of the chili sauce in the peanut sauce to give it a give. the vermicelli was also awesome. they originally forgot our spring roll but when i pointed it out, he quickly brought it out for us. spring rolls here are great too. very crispy with great flavors. i put half the fish sauce in my vermicelli and i added some hoison. thats the way i like it. delish. definitely coming back here for lunch!!
(4)Darien N.
Ive Gone to almost all the Pho restaurants in va and Pho Cong Ly is my absolute favorite. The food is excellent as well as the service. Any pho lover will love this spot. I'm a weekly regular and will always be. Btw the fried spring rolls are to die for.
(5)Morgan W.
I love this place! It was the first place I ever had Pho and I've been a few other places since, but this is the best!!! So fast, delicious, and great service.
(5)Howard S.
I've been going to Pho Cong Ly since they opened in the old location off Backlick. They are know to have the best spring rolls in NoVa and I agree. We always get at least one order. The pho is also good. Service is mehhhh.... Overall, one of the better Pho places in Springfield/Annandale area.
(4)Genesis B.
My first trip here turned out A-OK. The dishes were A-OK. The service was A-OK. The pricing was A-OK. The pho flavor was A-OK. The spring roll sauce dip was very not A-OK. I don't know what style of sauce that was but it was very Eeks! Me Thinks Not. I was very A-OK with the place till I ate the last spring roll then that dish went from A-OK to Eeks! Me Thinks Not and not just because of the sauce now. Hopefully what happened to that dish won't happen again next time. If you need an A-OK pho bowl fast and you don't want to drive too far out of Annandale, I'd go here over the other places close by.
(3)Francesca L.
I had the pho cong ly (special) and it was good. Huge serving, good, clean tasting broth, lots of various cuts of meat and meatballs. The basil, jalapenos, and lime were all fresh. Only problem was like Chi N said, too many noodles. The service was quick and friendly. Simply put: it's good--go get some pho! (CASH ONLY)
(4)Katie Z.
I am very sad/heartbroken to report that PHO CONG LY is closing!!!!!!!!!!! Best pho and spring rolls...they are SO MUCH BETTER than all the overrated places in the DC area and NOVA like Pho 75 in Rosslyn and 4 Sisters. No one can hold a candle to PHO CONG LY!!!!!!! I discovered the news on Craig'sList washingtondc.craigslist.… THE FINAL DAYS ARE TODAY Sat Sept 18 and TOMORROW Sun Sept 19... GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!! So I emailed them via Craigs List ad selling their restaurant equipment and talked to Adam Tran adtran75@gmail.com who said that they and other businesses there cannot renew their leases because the owner has other plans for the property. He said anyone who might want to buy equipment can contact either Mai or Snow at 703-451-8864. There may be plans to rebuild and improve everything as a whole. So that they may potentially serve you even better in the future, can you give us some feedback on what you liked and didn't like? Your zipcode? What improvements and products you think we should add? And anything else you feel that is pertinent. Adam Tran adtran75@gmail.com
(5)hadley z.
well, i ordered the shrimp vermicelli, spring rolls and my friend ordered the beef pho. mine was great and he was okay with his, he got a little sick from it and my stomach was upset about an hour later too. i'll still go for pick up when i'm hungover
(4)Zach F.
Edit: I came back a week later at 4 and it was pretty empty. The waiter from before recognized me. I ordered pho and spring rolls. The pho was good but nothing special and the spring rolls were still too greasy. I tried a different boba tea smoothie and it was great. The service could still be improved but they did comp my dinner as they said. They didn't tell me until I waited for my check for 15 minutes, so it would have been nice to have been told. But I am changing my one star review to two. I'll probably be back in a few weeks and see if they have improved to a three or better.
(2)Jamie T.
I love all the food here and employees are very nice and welcoming. On weekdays i will go to Pho Cong Ly for lunch. LOVE IT!!!!
(5)John L.
Pho and only Pho. I've been to a lot of Viet places with "Pho" in the name. Typically they concentrate on Pho but have the other usual rice and vermicelli dishes. NOT HERE. When they say Pho, they mean ONLY Pho. Okay, so I exaggerate a little. They also have spring rolls. That's it !!! I kept flipping the laminated 2 page menu over and over to see if I had missed something. As to the food, to their credit, the springs rolls were BIG and delicious. As for the Pho. It was fine. I've had better and worse. The only really bad part was the tendon. The menu has it as soft but it was very hard. Almost raw like. Not appealing. Service and decor is what you would expect in a "fast food" Vietnamese joint. Overall, decent Pho but much better spring rolls. Maybe they should call this place Spring Roll Cong Ly and just have one item on the menu instead of two. OH YEAH, CASH ONLY!!!
(3)Kim H.
My parents LOVE to come here. The Pho here is excellent. Very flavorful without being overly fatty and oily. I agree with all the other Yelpers that the egg rolls are AMAZING. They are served perfectly crispy and piping hot. What the heck do they put in them?? CRACK?? I will be bold enough to say that they are probably the best in the area. I dare you to find a better egg roll. Overall always a great experience here.
(4)Jack F.
Pho Cong Ly serves only pho noodle bowls. The crowd was approximately 90% Vietnamese so you know that it's a ethnic favorite. The broth was rich and fragrant. The garnishes were fresh as well (the bean sprouts are firm and the basil and jalapenos not dried). A small bowl was $4.95 and a large bowl was $6.75. However, the noodles were starchy and the meat overcooked (tough and chewy). Moreover, service was rushed (asked for our order as soon as we sat down) and they delivered the wrong order. So while the soup was great, there were also many aspects of the restaurant that were lacking. Cash only. [Original Visit: April 5, 2009]
(3)Jaye V.
Mmmm. This place is old school. It reminds me of the old Pho Cong Ly restaurants in Vinatown (Houston) in the mid- to late-1980s. (They used to have one in Austin too.) Supposedly the businesses are by owners that are all related somehow. Cha gio (spring rolls) and pho are great.
(4)Iced V.
I came here for for lunch on my WFH day. It took them over 45 minutes from the time I ordered to the time the pho arrived on my table. Did I mention I had 3 people ask me for my orders? They need a good front manager/leader to corral the team.
(1)Anson P.
I've been coming here since I was an awkward teenager hanging out at Time Out at Springfield Mall. It's been awhile since my last visit because Springfield Mall has become so crappy over the last few years. This is one of the better places, if not the best pho place, in Springfield. They know how to serve pho here, with the meat still raw and the noodles still a little raw. This ensures that when the pho gets to you, you provide that final element of mixing that gets everything cooked in the nice hot broth right in front of you. This is much better than getting an overcooked mess. The side veggies were fresh. Also, I'm a big fan of the cha gio (egg rolls) here. The wrapper has a nice chewy quality to it and the filling is tasty. The service was really quick and I got water refills. This is one of the few times that I can remember that I got my water refilled in a pho place. One of my pet peeves is crappy napkins. The napkins were so thin that I was basically blowing snot into my hands. The smart ass reader in you might be saying "grab more napkins, dumb ass". To this I reply, I would have if the napkins weren't stuffed into the holder tighter than tissue in a high school girl's bra. Also, like any other good Asian restaurant, CASH only. And I dedicate this review to that 3rd fan who popped up recently. You could be a psycho stalker for all I know, but you read my reviews, so I can't complain.

no mo' pho. this place is closed. no phoing.
