If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine, this wouldn't be a recommendation from me. The location is convenient since it's right next to the movie theaters at Jordan Landing so you can grab a bite before or after your showing. We decided to try this place since they were offering a Groupon deal but we were a little disappointed. Started with the Sampler Appetizer that came with a variety of fried goodies: 3 eggrolls, 4 cream cheese wontons, 2 fried tofu, 2 gyoza, and 2 chicken satay for $8.99. Pretty good deal since you get a wide selection. Eggrolls and fried tofu were okay.. but I did like all the others. Our spread: Papaya Salad, Red Curry, Drunken Noodles Every single dish was way TOO sweet for my preference. I understand Thai cuisine is on the sweet side but I felt like I was eating candy. All other Thai places aren't as sweet as this one. We asked for a 5 on a 1-5 scale for all of the dishes and of course got the "you-don't-know-what-you're-asking-for-I-know-you-Âcan't-handle-it" lecture. So we told her we like to sweat and she suggested a 3. We agreed to a 3 but wanted a 4 on the papaya. None of the dishes were spicy enough so we had to ask for extra on the side.. of course. The papaya was the sweetest I've ever had. It was a top a bed of shredded lettuce which I didn't like. The red curry was probably the sweetest curry I've had also. The only thing I actually thought was okay was the Drunken Noodles. Still sweet but much better. The food was pricier than most Thai joints and still lacking in quality. Don't think I would ever care to come again.

It looked very traditional and relaxing when I walked in the Resturant for my take out order. Resturant was very busy. I like to see that. They just had my order coming out. As she said hello. It's location a mile from my house. I got the Yellow Curry chicken with carrots, onions, potatoes and shrimp. This curry was a little spicer from the other one I had a week ago. The only think I didn't like was the potatoes weren't super soft, like melt in your mouth. The sauce didn't absorb into the potato and it was bland. Potato needed salt. And the carrots could have been softer not so crunchy. The loved the chicken and the shrimp though. I ordered Sweet Mangos and sticky rice for desert. I have never had this before and I am in love with sticky rice and mangos.

Unbelievably terrible service. If you're looking for decent Thai, please go somewhere else. The Pad See Ew is terrible, the "lemonade" is Tang, and this place's waitresses are horrendous. How this place is still in business, the world will never know. Our waitress was actually combative when we disliked the food and wanted something else. Let me start by saying two things. First of all, I work at a very popular restaurant in Utah and have for a long time now. Secondly, I created a yelp account for the experience I had at this restaurant.If that doesnt say anything, read the rest. Okay, so my boyfriend and I decided to come to this place for the first time for our date night tonight.We get into the restaurant pretty excited to try it, because we have been told great things. There was one other couple in the restaurant, and the host proceeded to seat us. We went probably 10 minutes without even seeing our server (which I have high expectations of anyway working in a restaurant myself). She came over and apologized for the wait and we were fine, we ordered gyoza, pad thai, and pad see-ew with a strawberry lemonade. Food came out pretty fast and the gyoza was perfectly fine. Then my boyfriend's pad see-ew came out first so he of course dug in and I decided to try it. I took my first bite and looked at it for a second, then took another bite and made a stink face ( didnt want to say anything, because once you hear somebody say your food tastes like something, it does). My boyfriend pushed the plate towards me and said, "does it taste funny to you?", and I just said "yes, it has this awful wet dog smell to it" and he agreed. Then my food came out, which it seemed fine but I couldnt get the smell out of my nose or mouth unfortunately. So I went up to the server trying to be polite and tell her that we didnt much like the food and that there was "something off" about it. She asked what it was and I said "to be honest it has a strange smell to it". She proceeded to tell me "yea, we use fish sauce" (like it was supposed to taste and smell like wet dog) I said we have had it before and it has never tasted like that. She followed me to the table arguing with me the whole way back. We asked her to take it away because we couldnt eat it after arguing with her for 5 minutes. She went to the kitchen and I could hear her screaming that "it wasnt her problem that we didnt like it"..so at that point I had, had enough. Went to the front and told the host we wanted to pay and leave because we were done. The server storms out and prints out our check and didnt take off the pad see-ew(which we had two bites of) and I said "Im sorry, but Im not paying for something I didnt eat" from there it was a battle. She started yelling at us telling us it was our problem that we didnt like it and they make it the same way every time and nobody complains. I asked to speak with the manager and she continued to yell at me and tell me how terrible I was and that the manager wasnt in. I have never in my life experienced such awful service! She was so unprofessional, I cant even believe it. We will NEVER be coming back.

Ended up here on a Sunday evening on the way home from picking up my 15-year-old from the airport. We typically head over to Red Iguana II but this night was different. Yelp! found a Thai place and we walked in moments from them turning around the "Closed' sign. They were gracious about serving us. Got the usuals. Panang this, red curry that. My oldest went with some shrimp spring rolls. I don't remember whether we asked for mild, medium or hot for spiciness. The dishes had good flavor. What was lacking was that first mouthful and you all look at each other and say, "Holy itshay! This is awesome!" Not all dining out experiences result in that kind of exclamation to begin with. Presentation was nice. Portion sizes weren't so much. Even my youngest made a remark. Service was a notch or two below average. I don't believe our water was refilled until we were given our check. There were plenty of patrons there when we arrived, some still there when we left. Someone came in for a big take-out order during the course of our meal. Serving us was no added inconvenience or annoyance for them whatsoever. Our server was a handsome young lad. He kept running his hand through his hair every time he interacted with us. Turns out one of his black hairs made it onto one of my daughter's plate. She noticed it at her last bite. We brought it to his attention. He was apologetic and seemed a little embarrassed. He removed the cost of that plate from my bill. I tipped him generously. I think it's mostly family run. Using my powers of discernment, I could tell that the owners are conscientious and articulate. Cloth napkins, nice flatware, plates, bowls, decor, etc. I don't live anywhere near Jordan Landing. I wouldn't normally take Bangerter from the airport and probably never will again. I can't possibly imagine ever patronizing this establishment again. That doesn't mean you shouldn't. Go. Eat. Enjoy! My experience may differ from yours. As for me and my house, this was a solid three-star experience. No more. No less.

This place was recommended to me as having great Tom Kha Gai Soup so I decided to check it out. We got the soup, and Appetizer sampler and a shrimp Currey dish. The Appetizer sampler was very good. Nice assortment of items (chicken satay, cream cheese wontons, pot stickers, egg rolls), and each one tasted good. My Tom Kha Gai soup was good. Not the best I have ever had, (it was heavy on the lemon grass), but still tasty. The red curry was a bit sweeter then I expected from a red curry but over all good. Service was spectacular the night we were there. She got us items even before I asked for it, and was very friendly. Impressed enough with the visit to come back here again, even with it being on the other end of the valley from me.

Come here occassionally for the lunch special during work. I think the food is good but pretty average. Nothing stands out and nothing is bad. The lunch special is a reasonable deal - around $8 for small portions of two different items with rice and a spring roll or dumpling. My main complaint is that service here is always ridiculously slow. The food is moderately slow - they bring it out right as you start wondering what is taking so long. What really takes forever is how long they take to bring your check and sign your bill after giving them your card!! You can seriously wait over 15 minutes until they bring you a check then another 5-10 till they bring back the receipt so you can sign it. To be fair, we usually go with a group of 8 or so and all have separate checks, but it really just shouldn't be that slow to pay.

I've eaten here a couple of times and while the service can be a little slow, the food makes up for it. This last trip we had the drunken noodles, the Thai Barbecue, and the mango sticky rice. Everything was very good! Even my fiancee who can't handle spicy stuff enjoyed the drunken noodles, which were hot enough for me to enjoy but not so hot that my fiancee couldn't eat it. They often have specials going dependent on which day of the week it is. For example, every Thursdays all the curry dishes are $6.99 and on Wednesday, kids eat free!

Under the new ownership this restaurant went to pot. I used to go there at least once a month if not more. I love the drunken noodles best of all. We recently dined, and with only 2 tables in the restaurant it took us over 5 minutes to be seated. Once seated it was probably 15 minutes before we got water. The waitress stood at our table, pad in hand, just staring at us. Never uttered a word. It took another 15 minutes before she returned with my wife's tea. At 50 minutes of waiting without a return of the waitress and no food, we were about to leave when someone who wasn't our waitress emerged from the kitchen with our food, and dropped the plates on the table with a clunk. She spoke not a word turned and scurried into the kitchen. The food was bland, and my noodles were cold. No one ever returned during the dinner to check on us, we sat waving at the hostess to get our check which she never brought, in frustration we went to the front and paid it at the door. Its disappointing that one of our favorite places had to fall into the hands of such bad management and service.

After being disappointed the first time we visited Taste of Thai when they first re-located to this area in Jordan Landing, we gave it another try when Groupon had the $12 for $25 deal. I'm sure glad we re-visited this place, the food has been greatly improved. We got the usual Thai fare - red curry and pad thai. Loved the food presentation and modern plating. Curry was hearty and had generous amounts of meat and veggies, the pad thai was also delicious, not overwhelmingly sweet or ketchup laden like other Thai joints. Service was also friendly and spot on. We will be back!

Yes this is as good as it gets. Every thai place i have been to is different. But Taste of Thai is the one I LOVE!!!. I live in Salt lake, but it is worth to drive for 30 minutes for their food. I am reading other reviews and don't understand some people's reviews. So I decided to write my own review. Very good service, variety of choices. Their pad thai, curries and thai noodle soup are awesome. Sticky rice mango dessert is to die for!!!

after starving all day i was really excited to try this place out for dinner. we came around 5:00 and there were only two other tables there (understandable seeing that it was a little early for dinner). we were greeted immediately and taken back to a booth. the decor is nice here and seemed authentic. i could hear thai music being played in the restaurant which made me feel better about eating here. however, i feel like along with several other thai restaurants in salt lake, they Americanize their food and it is definitely not authentic at all. we started with the chicken satay. the chicken was very dry and did not have any flavor - very bland. the peanut sauce was okay, but the cucumber sauce was very sweet. next we got a pot of the tom yum goong (shrimp). this was a let down as it was also very sweet and did not taste right. i did not even finish my little bowl cause i couldn't stand the flavor. we ended up taking the rest home to try to fix (add some tamarind and lime juice). our last dish was the pad see ew. this was actually the best dish we ordered at this restaurant, but again there was too much sweetness. the service was horrible here and there was no reason for that seeing that there was a total of three tables the entire time we were there. i would have to keep edging my empty water glass towards the end of the table to get the waitress to come over since she was always talking on her cell phone. it took her about 15 minutes to come get our order. each time she put the food down on our table she never said anything - just dropped it off and left. she never did come back to check on how our food was. when she did refill our water we asked for some chili sauce and she seemed put off that we asked her for something. like i mentioned before, most of the time that we were there i saw her behind the front desk area talking on her cell phone. it kind of irritated me since she took so long to take our order and didn't even bother coming back to check to see how we liked our food - i guess her personal phone calls were more important. overall horrible restaurant and i would never come back or recommend this place to anyone. they need to work on their customer service and improve their food.

Looking back through the reviews, I'm seeing a lot of negative stuff about Taste of Thai and I have to admit that I don't quite understand why.. Granted a lot of the reviews are a little older but I know they've been in their Jordan Landing location for quite some time. I first went to Taste of Thai when they were back in their Redwood Road location and I will be honest and say that they weren't that great then. They were newly established, working out some kinks in the menu, and the interior was awkwardly laid out in my opinion. I met the owners (the husband) when they came to my high school with some samples and so they've always been friendly whenever I came by. Now that they've moved to their Jordan Landing location, I have to say that I actually think their food has improved. Their portions are decent (nowhere near as huge as Sawadee) and their spice has some good kick. I've ordered quite a few things on the menu and the one item I feel comfortable recommending is their Pad Gra Pow. I'm extremely picky about my Pad Gra Pow as I expect it to be authentic. Meaning, the chicken should be ground, not sliced - there should be basil in it, along with some onions (I despite it with sliced bell peppers. Adds flavor and color but it takes up far too much of the dish, therefore giving you less food..) and whenever restaurants slice the chicken in the dish I always groan. Taste of Thai's is pretty near perfect. Their Pad Thai is pretty good, though I wouldn't say it's the best. It isn't as full of tamarind flavor as I'd like but with the lime on it, it gets better. Their beef larb is really good though, but a bit soggy as there's a lot of moisture in the bottom of the bowl. The sticky rice is a tad too sticky so it comes off and gets all over your palms. I am a huge fan of Thai Iced Tea and I give theirs a 3.5/5 for having just a bit too much milk/cream in it. If you're looking for some pretty authentic food with good flavor, I'd recommend Taste of Thai. The service is pretty friendly too, if a bit slow. However, if you happen to be downtown or are willing to make the drive, Sawadee still tops it.

Taste of Thai is probably the most GOD AWFUL place I have ever been to. With food so unfresh (bordering on "now is the time to throw it away...it tastes like there might be microbes growing inside) and people so degrading, I have to wonder if anyone ever visits this place anymore. Certainly, the few times I've been in, it's been pretty dead. And now, I think I know why. The first time I came, it was because I had several living socials. Nowhere on the living socials did it say that you had to dine in. Well, SURPRISE! Upon presenting the living social as payment, I was told I had to dine in. I was like, "Where the hell does it say on here you're supposed to dine in???" The lady at the cash register didn't know, so she called over a manager. The manager's response? "Oh, well, it doesn't say, but that's what you're supposed to do. We've told Living Social to write dine-in. We don't know why they haven't yet." Oh. OK. So I suppose it's my fault that I didn't know it had to be dine-in when it never said so on the living social? So I'm not very happy and am about to walk out when the manager said, "OK. I'll let it go this time. But next time, you have to dine in." OK... So with the quality of the food, I'm not even sure why I ever BOTHERED going back again...I had ordered chicken satay and a rama...the chicken satay was, as others have stated, completely freezer burned. They were hard...not juicy...100% dry...and yes, they did taste like they were going bad...and so someone stuffed them in the freezer to try to preserve what little life they still had. I found it actually funny that the two sauces they gave me (sweet and sour sauce with cucumber bits and peanut sauce) tasted WAY better than the chicken itself...hmmm...I wonder if they were trying to get me to use the sauces to mask the real taste of the chicken...??? As for the rama, well...completely UNimpressive. First, the portion was extremely small. The whole thing could basically fit on a saucer. When it was in the take out box, it looked like the kinds of portions you get when you order rice combos at any generic Asian fast food place. The taste? Hardly worth writing about. None of the herbs and spices you'd come to expect from Thai staple cooking. Hell, I probably could have done a better job! Anyway, against my misgivings, I went there again to use up my other coupon. This time, I was given a different excuse for why not to serve me. The coupon had the word lunch on it, and so I could not use this for anything other than lunch specials. Lunch specials are only available Monday to Friday from 11 to 2, and since it takes too long to get from my work to the restaurant during normal weekdays, that is all but impossible. Why couldn't they accept it for something else? And besides, the other one I used had the word lunch on it. Yet they were OK with it then? So you were OK with it the first time but not the next??? Boy, I was so MAD! I literally stormed out and told the entire staff that I would NEVER be coming back again. And I haven't! Of course, I'm not sure these people realize how powerful the web and social media have become. One casual look at Yelp and you will see a gazillion negative reviews over the last few months, complaining about bad food quality and even worse service. I have seen the word "rude" used many times, but I would also add that these people are completely dishonest, that they have schizophrenia when it comes to saying one thing and doing something else, and they are very degrading to customers, treating customers as if they are stupid, illiterate, and too low to be worth their time and effort to serve. Well, let's see if they continue laughing at their customers when they are forced to shutdown. Trust me. It's only a matter of time.

Taste of Thai is completely acceptable. Thai food, in general, is splendid and even though there's a grundle of them in Salt Lake, I welcome them with open arms. It seems only natural that when you're in Jordan Landing and you want Thai food you should have that option. So Taste of Thai fills that need. The location is a bit tricky to find. It's near the movie theater, but the store front doesn't face either parking lot, so you really have know it's there. It shares a building with Santa Monica Pizza & Pasta, and faces the building that has Yogurtland and La Luna. Park in either lot and walk to to the center of the plaza and enter. It's a big place that sits small. It seems plenty open with lots of windows, but there are less seats than you'd imagine. Still, it's in good shape (besides the cloth chairs looking a little used) and doesn't fall into that tacky Thai joint decor trap that so many do. Casual but tastefully done. The menu is simple and broken down into categories like noodles, curries, salads, soups, entrees and desserts. They're not re-inventing Thai food; it's just simple dishes prepared quickly and efficiently. Most of our party had the Pad Thai which was well prepared. I had the panang curry with chicken. The veggies were fresh, and although each ingredient was right, it didn't feel like it all came together as a cohesive dish, and the chicken was a little tough. Still, it was delicious and I ate every single bite. And I'd do it all again, so I really don't have any major complaints. Even though it wasn't too busy, it seems like they were on top of the service and would be that way with more people packed in. They let us linger after closing and were all smiles all night. I wasn't bowled over by any one thing, but can't think of a single hard complaint. It's Thai food. And Thai food is good.

I am a huge thai food fan...Anywhere there is thai food im probably there. This place is very nicely decorated and the staff is very nice but the food is very mediocre for such expensive pricing. I think they heavy hand the fish sauce in most of their dishes so if u are sensitive to the smell u might not be able to enjoy your food. In addition their servings are relatively smaller than other thai places. I probably won't come back but their place is very nicely decorated.

Kitchen nightmare: I have visited this restaurant several times in the past and have been very pleased. However, upon walking into the restaurant tonight I could tell from the atmosphere that something was different. The front of house was messy, unorganized, the floor was filthy and we were pointed to a table where menus were haphazardly strewn across the table and no place settings existed until after our appetizers arrived. We ordered drinks, the appetizer platter, yellow and green curry and pad see ew and when we ordered the pad see ew, the server asked "do you know what it is, have you ever had it?" which we have a lot from Sawadee and are very familiar with this dish. The thai iced tea was good, but the once frozen chicken satay left much to be desired. It was dry and had a freezer burned taste. As soon as our pad see ew arrived a member of our party exclaimed "what's that funky smell?" Funky indeed, one taste made me nervous to confirm my fears with another bite. The sauce for this dish tasted as though it had been prepared weeks ago and when we asked the server "when was this dish made?" She simply shrugged her shoulders and put her hands in the air and shook her head. Glad I didn't have another bite. I suspect since this place has been declining, they have been prepping food before hand and freezing it or keeping it in the walk-in refrigerator. Really sad to see another one of many places fail under new management. Manager: get it together!

My wife and I thought it was okay but would prefer other Thai restaurants. She ordered the PadSeeu which was okay; we both prefer Padthai over this dish. I ordered the Red curry; which I loved the sauce, it had a hint of the peanut sauce. And we ordered an appetizer platter; my wife loved the egg rolls; she said that they were really light and tasty. We both loved the appetizer's peanut sauce. The chicken was the only really big complaint. It had an odd taste and we thought it was over cooked. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant, which we felt the atmosphere was better than other Thai restaurants.

My wife and I eat a lot of Thai and Indian, we've been to nearly every place in Salt Lake and Davis counties, plus many others when traveling. This is our favorite Thai restaurant, in fact we drive 30 miles to come here. The spicy beef salad is rich in flavor, with the right blend of mint, lime, and chili. Most places offer a beef salad, but theirs kicks it up a notch, and is wonderful. If you are a fan of red curry, try their panang curry- it's like a super deluxe version. The crispy pork and the BBQ version are both cooked just right. Go during lunchtime and you can sample two entrees with steamed rice and a spring roll for only $8.

Dirty, unorganized dining room. The pitcher of water had a piece of paper floating in it. The Appetizer Platter was an array of freezer burned oily potstickers, crab wontons, and spring rolls. The chicken satay was also freezer burned and dry as sawdust. The Pad See Ew was off, it smelled old and one bite of broccoli confirmed that this dish was not made fresh same day. We sent it back and asked the server when it was made and she shrugged her shoulders and had no idea. My guess is the sauce was probably made weeks ago and is kept in the walk-in and when an order comes in, that same old sauce is used along with some frozen veggies and mushy noodles that had been pre-cooked god knows when. This dish has probably been getting complaints for a while because when we ordered it the server asked if we knew what it was, we said "Yes, it's one of our favorites at Sawadee", however, Sawadee makes theirs from fresh, with the exception of some frozen veggies, but it's pretty hard to screw up a soy based sauce. The green and yellow curries were edible and tasted okay, but again the veggies and chicken tasted freezer burned. Overall I think that this restaurant is on the decline and is probably still ordering the same amounts of food as it was when it was doing well, so they just end up freezing things and storing pre-cooked items. Be careful with this place, you could end up with some intestinal distress!!

I came here on a Tuesday night for the curry special advertised on their storefront, fb page and website ($6.99 curries all day Tuesday. I came alone because my husband was working late and ordered it to go. Apparently the special is "for dine-in only", according the the abrupt girl at the cash register. If this is the case, please advertise as such, otherwise it is so misleading! The entire dining room was also empty-yet they didn't bat an eye at such poor service. I still ordered my curry, and it was just alright. There are other Thai places in the valley I like much more. My red curry had a good amount of vegetables that seemed fresh and cooked appropriately, however the curry was made so tremendously spicy that I could hardly eat it. And I really, really like really spicy curries. Because I didn't like the food, and I didn't like the service, I won't eat here again. Had the service been awesome, I definitely would have given it another shot.

Decent. As far as Thai food goes, the Wasatch Valley has plenty of options. Taste of Thai won't win your loyalty, but it won't drive you away either. I had the Pad Thai (why else would you go to a Thai restaurant?). My wife had the Massama Curry. My Pad Thai was...well...decent. I've had better and I've had worse. However, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her Massama Curry. I had a nibble and I admit, it was pretty tasty. I will say, that the plating was pretty impressive. We are BIG Food Network fans, so stuff like that matters to us. For others, perhaps that is not a big deal. All in all, our meal was adequate. I don't plan on going back anytime soon, but I wouldn't skip out on an invite to dine there if such an opportunity arises.

The best Thai restaurant I have found in Utah so far. The food is very good, I have liked every dish that I tried and I have tried about half of the menu (my favorite is the pork and vegetables). There lunch specials are very affordable. Good food, good service, nice atmosphere, affordable, they even play good music, what else do you want? If their lunch special had the option of a side salad instead of dumplings or an eggroll this place would have gotten 5 stars. I would have to say that this is the best restaurant in all of Jordan Landing.

The Pad Thai was REALLY sweet and was made almost entirely of noodle and sauce without any additions. Beef in the Pho was surprisingly dry. Somewhat cold service. We probably won't go back.

Not the best Thai food in town, but the service was great, the food was hot (temperature-wise) the place was clean and the food was pretty solid. Given the Jordan Landing location, this puts them above many of their immediate neighbor competitors. I've got to say, that I've now tried nearly every Thai place in Utah by now, and while I still have yet to proclaim myself as an expert on Thai Cuisine, I know what I like, and I like Taste of Thai. The atmosphere is clean and attractive, the service fast and very friendly. As an addict of the sweet and spicy Gang Panang curry, I had to try theirs, and the taste certainly delivered. The curry was full-flavored and not too sweet, with great flavor balance and heat. They quoted me as having 5 different heat levels, and I ordered it at a "5". This wasn't really all that hot for me, so at my request they brought additional thai chili powder and chili oil to enhance my dish as desired. My wife ordered Pad Thai, and I enjoyed that a great deal as well. Full-flavored and fresh tasting, with just enough salty sweet spice, the dish was delicious. My wife also had to add additional spice however, as she ordered at a "2" and it wasn't spicy enough to her. She generally enjoys a medium heat level. The sweet sticky rice w/ fresh mango was some of the best I've had in Utah. Very very delicious. I'd highly recommend making a trip out to what amounts to best Thai on the west side of the valley. On a side note: It seems as though they try keep the heat level mild for the most part to be safe, but will allow you to adjust the heat to your liking, which is fine by me.

I'm always a little leery about trying Asian restaurants when I'm at home in Utah. I've been to many Thai restaurants in the Bay Area, and like to think that I have a pretty good exposure to what good Thai food can be--or not. To my surprise, Taste of Thai delivered. We ordered: - Massamun Beef -- definitely had some kick to it, but the sauce was pretty darn good - Thai Gai Yang -- Thai-style BBQ chicken. This one was for the kids, so I didn't get to try it. The kids gobbled it up, so I guess that it was pretty darn good - Pad See Aew -- This was pretty authentic, and I actually really enjoyed the dish. We got it with seafood (mussels, shrimp, and squid), and they actually were pretty generous with it. - Larb Kai -- now, this had a kick to it. It's ground chicken with some basil and chilis. (I'm actually sweating right now as I write about it!) It was darn good Service was good and they took care of us really well. Great little restaurant in this strip mall along Redwood Road. It's nice to see how the offerings have changed (for the better) since I've lived in Utah.

Aaron (the owner) has replied to my review as well as emailed me personally. He was very forthcoming about the reasons for our experience (they were short staffed on the night we went) and apologized multiple times. He also stated that if we would have brought our bad experience to his attention before leaving (which we should have done), he would have given us the meal for free. He offered to treat our family to a meal for free the next time we return (not in exchange for anything, of course). While I'm undecided on whether we'll take him up on the offer or not, I would like to amend my review. Anyone considering dining at Taste of Thai should do it. When it was good, it was very, very good. I sincerely hope it gets back to being as good as we remember. I'm changing my review to three stars as it isn't often that the owner responds to a review, explains and takes ownership of the situation, and offers to make it right.

I had their pad Thai and it just tasted bland and the noodles they used wasn't the regular rice noodles that other places have. On a good note, the coconut curry was good.

Good environment. I like Thai Delight's food better though. I ordered Phad Graphaw (Thai Basil), a dish known for being one of the most spicy Thai dishes and there wasn't a lick of pepper in it. In fact, I didn't even taste any garlic, something also normally a major part of the dish. Excellent service, great environment (they all greet you as you come in, and the manager stops by every table to ask how the food was), but I'd go to Thai Delight down the road where the food's better.

Just went here for lunch on a Saturday. Place was basically empty. Studied the menu and decided to split a lunch special of BBQ pork and a chicken stir fry dish. My son had the kids plate of pad Thai. His dish came out first and I immediately noticed that this pa tai was not freshly cooked as all the ingredients were mixed together. Then came our plate. Immediately we noticed that the pork dish was dried out, over cooked slices of pork that were obviously reheated somehow. It came with a side of chili sauce, that's it. The chicken stir fry also seemed to be overcooked - precooked chicken thrown together with sauce and veg. It came with a spring roll so greasy I could have wrung two tablespoons of oil out of it. One bite of the food ( a mistake ) and we were out of there. First and last time. I feel bad for them. I really do want small places like this to thrive, but they can't with food like this. Maybe their finances are short and they are cutting corners at lunch time...no excuse.

If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine, this wouldn't be a recommendation from me. The location is convenient since it's right next to the movie theaters at Jordan Landing so you can grab a bite before or after your showing. We decided to try this place since they were offering a Groupon deal but we were a little disappointed. Started with the Sampler Appetizer that came with a variety of fried goodies: 3 eggrolls, 4 cream cheese wontons, 2 fried tofu, 2 gyoza, and 2 chicken satay for $8.99. Pretty good deal since you get a wide selection. Eggrolls and fried tofu were okay.. but I did like all the others. Our spread: Papaya Salad, Red Curry, Drunken Noodles Every single dish was way TOO sweet for my preference. I understand Thai cuisine is on the sweet side but I felt like I was eating candy. All other Thai places aren't as sweet as this one. We asked for a 5 on a 1-5 scale for all of the dishes and of course got the "you-don't-know-what-you're-asking-for-I-know-you-Âcan't-handle-it" lecture. So we told her we like to sweat and she suggested a 3. We agreed to a 3 but wanted a 4 on the papaya. None of the dishes were spicy enough so we had to ask for extra on the side.. of course. The papaya was the sweetest I've ever had. It was a top a bed of shredded lettuce which I didn't like. The red curry was probably the sweetest curry I've had also. The only thing I actually thought was okay was the Drunken Noodles. Still sweet but much better. The food was pricier than most Thai joints and still lacking in quality. Don't think I would ever care to come again.

It looked very traditional and relaxing when I walked in the Resturant for my take out order. Resturant was very busy. I like to see that. They just had my order coming out. As she said hello. It's location a mile from my house. I got the Yellow Curry chicken with carrots, onions, potatoes and shrimp. This curry was a little spicer from the other one I had a week ago. The only think I didn't like was the potatoes weren't super soft, like melt in your mouth. The sauce didn't absorb into the potato and it was bland. Potato needed salt. And the carrots could have been softer not so crunchy. The loved the chicken and the shrimp though. I ordered Sweet Mangos and sticky rice for desert. I have never had this before and I am in love with sticky rice and mangos.

Let me start by saying two things. First of all, I work at a very popular restaurant in Utah and have for a long time now. Secondly, I created a yelp account for the experience I had at this restaurant.If that doesnt say anything, read the rest. Okay, so my boyfriend and I decided to come to this place for the first time for our date night tonight.We get into the restaurant pretty excited to try it, because we have been told great things. There was one other couple in the restaurant, and the host proceeded to seat us. We went probably 10 minutes without even seeing our server (which I have high expectations of anyway working in a restaurant myself). She came over and apologized for the wait and we were fine, we ordered gyoza, pad thai, and pad see-ew with a strawberry lemonade. Food came out pretty fast and the gyoza was perfectly fine. Then my boyfriend's pad see-ew came out first so he of course dug in and I decided to try it. I took my first bite and looked at it for a second, then took another bite and made a stink face ( didnt want to say anything, because once you hear somebody say your food tastes like something, it does). My boyfriend pushed the plate towards me and said, "does it taste funny to you?", and I just said "yes, it has this awful wet dog smell to it" and he agreed. Then my food came out, which it seemed fine but I couldnt get the smell out of my nose or mouth unfortunately. So I went up to the server trying to be polite and tell her that we didnt much like the food and that there was "something off" about it. She asked what it was and I said "to be honest it has a strange smell to it". She proceeded to tell me "yea, we use fish sauce" (like it was supposed to taste and smell like wet dog) I said we have had it before and it has never tasted like that. She followed me to the table arguing with me the whole way back. We asked her to take it away because we couldnt eat it after arguing with her for 5 minutes. She went to the kitchen and I could hear her screaming that "it wasnt her problem that we didnt like it"..so at that point I had, had enough. Went to the front and told the host we wanted to pay and leave because we were done. The server storms out and prints out our check and didnt take off the pad see-ew(which we had two bites of) and I said "Im sorry, but Im not paying for something I didnt eat" from there it was a battle. She started yelling at us telling us it was our problem that we didnt like it and they make it the same way every time and nobody complains. I asked to speak with the manager and she continued to yell at me and tell me how terrible I was and that the manager wasnt in. I have never in my life experienced such awful service! She was so unprofessional, I cant even believe it. We will NEVER be coming back.

Ended up here on a Sunday evening on the way home from picking up my 15-year-old from the airport. We typically head over to Red Iguana II but this night was different. Yelp! found a Thai place and we walked in moments from them turning around the "Closed' sign. They were gracious about serving us. Got the usuals. Panang this, red curry that. My oldest went with some shrimp spring rolls. I don't remember whether we asked for mild, medium or hot for spiciness. The dishes had good flavor. What was lacking was that first mouthful and you all look at each other and say, "Holy itshay! This is awesome!" Not all dining out experiences result in that kind of exclamation to begin with. Presentation was nice. Portion sizes weren't so much. Even my youngest made a remark. Service was a notch or two below average. I don't believe our water was refilled until we were given our check. There were plenty of patrons there when we arrived, some still there when we left. Someone came in for a big take-out order during the course of our meal. Serving us was no added inconvenience or annoyance for them whatsoever. Our server was a handsome young lad. He kept running his hand through his hair every time he interacted with us. Turns out one of his black hairs made it onto one of my daughter's plate. She noticed it at her last bite. We brought it to his attention. He was apologetic and seemed a little embarrassed. He removed the cost of that plate from my bill. I tipped him generously. I think it's mostly family run. Using my powers of discernment, I could tell that the owners are conscientious and articulate. Cloth napkins, nice flatware, plates, bowls, decor, etc. I don't live anywhere near Jordan Landing. I wouldn't normally take Bangerter from the airport and probably never will again. I can't possibly imagine ever patronizing this establishment again. That doesn't mean you shouldn't. Go. Eat. Enjoy! My experience may differ from yours. As for me and my house, this was a solid three-star experience. No more. No less.

This place was recommended to me as having great Tom Kha Gai Soup so I decided to check it out. We got the soup, and Appetizer sampler and a shrimp Currey dish. The Appetizer sampler was very good. Nice assortment of items (chicken satay, cream cheese wontons, pot stickers, egg rolls), and each one tasted good. My Tom Kha Gai soup was good. Not the best I have ever had, (it was heavy on the lemon grass), but still tasty. The red curry was a bit sweeter then I expected from a red curry but over all good. Service was spectacular the night we were there. She got us items even before I asked for it, and was very friendly. Impressed enough with the visit to come back here again, even with it being on the other end of the valley from me.

Come here occassionally for the lunch special during work. I think the food is good but pretty average. Nothing stands out and nothing is bad. The lunch special is a reasonable deal - around $8 for small portions of two different items with rice and a spring roll or dumpling. My main complaint is that service here is always ridiculously slow. The food is moderately slow - they bring it out right as you start wondering what is taking so long. What really takes forever is how long they take to bring your check and sign your bill after giving them your card!! You can seriously wait over 15 minutes until they bring you a check then another 5-10 till they bring back the receipt so you can sign it. To be fair, we usually go with a group of 8 or so and all have separate checks, but it really just shouldn't be that slow to pay.

I've eaten here a couple of times and while the service can be a little slow, the food makes up for it. This last trip we had the drunken noodles, the Thai Barbecue, and the mango sticky rice. Everything was very good! Even my fiancee who can't handle spicy stuff enjoyed the drunken noodles, which were hot enough for me to enjoy but not so hot that my fiancee couldn't eat it. They often have specials going dependent on which day of the week it is. For example, every Thursdays all the curry dishes are $6.99 and on Wednesday, kids eat free!

Under the new ownership this restaurant went to pot. I used to go there at least once a month if not more. I love the drunken noodles best of all. We recently dined, and with only 2 tables in the restaurant it took us over 5 minutes to be seated. Once seated it was probably 15 minutes before we got water. The waitress stood at our table, pad in hand, just staring at us. Never uttered a word. It took another 15 minutes before she returned with my wife's tea. At 50 minutes of waiting without a return of the waitress and no food, we were about to leave when someone who wasn't our waitress emerged from the kitchen with our food, and dropped the plates on the table with a clunk. She spoke not a word turned and scurried into the kitchen. The food was bland, and my noodles were cold. No one ever returned during the dinner to check on us, we sat waving at the hostess to get our check which she never brought, in frustration we went to the front and paid it at the door. Its disappointing that one of our favorite places had to fall into the hands of such bad management and service.

After being disappointed the first time we visited Taste of Thai when they first re-located to this area in Jordan Landing, we gave it another try when Groupon had the $12 for $25 deal. I'm sure glad we re-visited this place, the food has been greatly improved. We got the usual Thai fare - red curry and pad thai. Loved the food presentation and modern plating. Curry was hearty and had generous amounts of meat and veggies, the pad thai was also delicious, not overwhelmingly sweet or ketchup laden like other Thai joints. Service was also friendly and spot on. We will be back!

Yes this is as good as it gets. Every thai place i have been to is different. But Taste of Thai is the one I LOVE!!!. I live in Salt lake, but it is worth to drive for 30 minutes for their food. I am reading other reviews and don't understand some people's reviews. So I decided to write my own review. Very good service, variety of choices. Their pad thai, curries and thai noodle soup are awesome. Sticky rice mango dessert is to die for!!!

after starving all day i was really excited to try this place out for dinner. we came around 5:00 and there were only two other tables there (understandable seeing that it was a little early for dinner). we were greeted immediately and taken back to a booth. the decor is nice here and seemed authentic. i could hear thai music being played in the restaurant which made me feel better about eating here. however, i feel like along with several other thai restaurants in salt lake, they Americanize their food and it is definitely not authentic at all. we started with the chicken satay. the chicken was very dry and did not have any flavor - very bland. the peanut sauce was okay, but the cucumber sauce was very sweet. next we got a pot of the tom yum goong (shrimp). this was a let down as it was also very sweet and did not taste right. i did not even finish my little bowl cause i couldn't stand the flavor. we ended up taking the rest home to try to fix (add some tamarind and lime juice). our last dish was the pad see ew. this was actually the best dish we ordered at this restaurant, but again there was too much sweetness. the service was horrible here and there was no reason for that seeing that there was a total of three tables the entire time we were there. i would have to keep edging my empty water glass towards the end of the table to get the waitress to come over since she was always talking on her cell phone. it took her about 15 minutes to come get our order. each time she put the food down on our table she never said anything - just dropped it off and left. she never did come back to check on how our food was. when she did refill our water we asked for some chili sauce and she seemed put off that we asked her for something. like i mentioned before, most of the time that we were there i saw her behind the front desk area talking on her cell phone. it kind of irritated me since she took so long to take our order and didn't even bother coming back to check to see how we liked our food - i guess her personal phone calls were more important. overall horrible restaurant and i would never come back or recommend this place to anyone. they need to work on their customer service and improve their food.

Looking back through the reviews, I'm seeing a lot of negative stuff about Taste of Thai and I have to admit that I don't quite understand why.. Granted a lot of the reviews are a little older but I know they've been in their Jordan Landing location for quite some time. I first went to Taste of Thai when they were back in their Redwood Road location and I will be honest and say that they weren't that great then. They were newly established, working out some kinks in the menu, and the interior was awkwardly laid out in my opinion. I met the owners (the husband) when they came to my high school with some samples and so they've always been friendly whenever I came by. Now that they've moved to their Jordan Landing location, I have to say that I actually think their food has improved. Their portions are decent (nowhere near as huge as Sawadee) and their spice has some good kick. I've ordered quite a few things on the menu and the one item I feel comfortable recommending is their Pad Gra Pow. I'm extremely picky about my Pad Gra Pow as I expect it to be authentic. Meaning, the chicken should be ground, not sliced - there should be basil in it, along with some onions (I despite it with sliced bell peppers. Adds flavor and color but it takes up far too much of the dish, therefore giving you less food..) and whenever restaurants slice the chicken in the dish I always groan. Taste of Thai's is pretty near perfect. Their Pad Thai is pretty good, though I wouldn't say it's the best. It isn't as full of tamarind flavor as I'd like but with the lime on it, it gets better. Their beef larb is really good though, but a bit soggy as there's a lot of moisture in the bottom of the bowl. The sticky rice is a tad too sticky so it comes off and gets all over your palms. I am a huge fan of Thai Iced Tea and I give theirs a 3.5/5 for having just a bit too much milk/cream in it. If you're looking for some pretty authentic food with good flavor, I'd recommend Taste of Thai. The service is pretty friendly too, if a bit slow. However, if you happen to be downtown or are willing to make the drive, Sawadee still tops it.

Worst Thai food restaurant I've ever eaten at. Have eaten there 3 times and yesterday was the last time. Fresh spring rolls were basically all lettuce which fell apart. Green curry had no flavor. And pad Thai was just noodles with not taste. Very disappointed. I almost wanted to ask for a refund.

Truly love this place. Never anything less than consistent and delicious. Staff is hardworking and kind. Love love love their tangerine chicken, pho, and pad thai. $2.50 beers and sake is oddly inexpensive- but still of great quality!

I went here about a year ago with a group of five. The service was terrible. We didn't get any refills and they forgot to make my meal. By the time I recieved my food, the rest of my party was finishing up their meals. It was also very salty.

We tried this place on a groupon, and will definitely be returning on our own. The food was delicious. We got the coconut soup, and I haven't had anything quite like it before, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We also got some of the fried pork, and some curries, all great. I'll be happy to return!

Taste of Thai is probably the most GOD AWFUL place I have ever been to. With food so unfresh (bordering on "now is the time to throw it away...it tastes like there might be microbes growing inside) and people so degrading, I have to wonder if anyone ever visits this place anymore. Certainly, the few times I've been in, it's been pretty dead. And now, I think I know why. The first time I came, it was because I had several living socials. Nowhere on the living socials did it say that you had to dine in. Well, SURPRISE! Upon presenting the living social as payment, I was told I had to dine in. I was like, "Where the hell does it say on here you're supposed to dine in???" The lady at the cash register didn't know, so she called over a manager. The manager's response? "Oh, well, it doesn't say, but that's what you're supposed to do. We've told Living Social to write dine-in. We don't know why they haven't yet." Oh. OK. So I suppose it's my fault that I didn't know it had to be dine-in when it never said so on the living social? So I'm not very happy and am about to walk out when the manager said, "OK. I'll let it go this time. But next time, you have to dine in." OK... So with the quality of the food, I'm not even sure why I ever BOTHERED going back again...I had ordered chicken satay and a rama...the chicken satay was, as others have stated, completely freezer burned. They were hard...not juicy...100% dry...and yes, they did taste like they were going bad...and so someone stuffed them in the freezer to try to preserve what little life they still had. I found it actually funny that the two sauces they gave me (sweet and sour sauce with cucumber bits and peanut sauce) tasted WAY better than the chicken itself...hmmm...I wonder if they were trying to get me to use the sauces to mask the real taste of the chicken...??? As for the rama, well...completely UNimpressive. First, the portion was extremely small. The whole thing could basically fit on a saucer. When it was in the take out box, it looked like the kinds of portions you get when you order rice combos at any generic Asian fast food place. The taste? Hardly worth writing about. None of the herbs and spices you'd come to expect from Thai staple cooking. Hell, I probably could have done a better job! Anyway, against my misgivings, I went there again to use up my other coupon. This time, I was given a different excuse for why not to serve me. The coupon had the word lunch on it, and so I could not use this for anything other than lunch specials. Lunch specials are only available Monday to Friday from 11 to 2, and since it takes too long to get from my work to the restaurant during normal weekdays, that is all but impossible. Why couldn't they accept it for something else? And besides, the other one I used had the word lunch on it. Yet they were OK with it then? So you were OK with it the first time but not the next??? Boy, I was so MAD! I literally stormed out and told the entire staff that I would NEVER be coming back again. And I haven't! Of course, I'm not sure these people realize how powerful the web and social media have become. One casual look at Yelp and you will see a gazillion negative reviews over the last few months, complaining about bad food quality and even worse service. I have seen the word "rude" used many times, but I would also add that these people are completely dishonest, that they have schizophrenia when it comes to saying one thing and doing something else, and they are very degrading to customers, treating customers as if they are stupid, illiterate, and too low to be worth their time and effort to serve. Well, let's see if they continue laughing at their customers when they are forced to shutdown. Trust me. It's only a matter of time.

Taste of Thai is completely acceptable. Thai food, in general, is splendid and even though there's a grundle of them in Salt Lake, I welcome them with open arms. It seems only natural that when you're in Jordan Landing and you want Thai food you should have that option. So Taste of Thai fills that need. The location is a bit tricky to find. It's near the movie theater, but the store front doesn't face either parking lot, so you really have know it's there. It shares a building with Santa Monica Pizza & Pasta, and faces the building that has Yogurtland and La Luna. Park in either lot and walk to to the center of the plaza and enter. It's a big place that sits small. It seems plenty open with lots of windows, but there are less seats than you'd imagine. Still, it's in good shape (besides the cloth chairs looking a little used) and doesn't fall into that tacky Thai joint decor trap that so many do. Casual but tastefully done. The menu is simple and broken down into categories like noodles, curries, salads, soups, entrees and desserts. They're not re-inventing Thai food; it's just simple dishes prepared quickly and efficiently. Most of our party had the Pad Thai which was well prepared. I had the panang curry with chicken. The veggies were fresh, and although each ingredient was right, it didn't feel like it all came together as a cohesive dish, and the chicken was a little tough. Still, it was delicious and I ate every single bite. And I'd do it all again, so I really don't have any major complaints. Even though it wasn't too busy, it seems like they were on top of the service and would be that way with more people packed in. They let us linger after closing and were all smiles all night. I wasn't bowled over by any one thing, but can't think of a single hard complaint. It's Thai food. And Thai food is good.

The food was really delicious, but the service was horrible. We waited for about 15 minutes before someone even talked to us. On top of that, there were children screaming at the top of their lungs. I would rather order take out.

I am a huge thai food fan...Anywhere there is thai food im probably there. This place is very nicely decorated and the staff is very nice but the food is very mediocre for such expensive pricing. I think they heavy hand the fish sauce in most of their dishes so if u are sensitive to the smell u might not be able to enjoy your food. In addition their servings are relatively smaller than other thai places. I probably won't come back but their place is very nicely decorated.

I love Thai food.... but not this Thai food. Bland for starters and the potatoes in my curry were practically raw. Was excited to see a Thai restaurant open close to where I live, but the food I was served was not good. Hope they can get a better cook and turn things around.

Kitchen nightmare: I have visited this restaurant several times in the past and have been very pleased. However, upon walking into the restaurant tonight I could tell from the atmosphere that something was different. The front of house was messy, unorganized, the floor was filthy and we were pointed to a table where menus were haphazardly strewn across the table and no place settings existed until after our appetizers arrived. We ordered drinks, the appetizer platter, yellow and green curry and pad see ew and when we ordered the pad see ew, the server asked "do you know what it is, have you ever had it?" which we have a lot from Sawadee and are very familiar with this dish. The thai iced tea was good, but the once frozen chicken satay left much to be desired. It was dry and had a freezer burned taste. As soon as our pad see ew arrived a member of our party exclaimed "what's that funky smell?" Funky indeed, one taste made me nervous to confirm my fears with another bite. The sauce for this dish tasted as though it had been prepared weeks ago and when we asked the server "when was this dish made?" She simply shrugged her shoulders and put her hands in the air and shook her head. Glad I didn't have another bite. I suspect since this place has been declining, they have been prepping food before hand and freezing it or keeping it in the walk-in refrigerator. Really sad to see another one of many places fail under new management. Manager: get it together!

I recently moved to WJ so I popped in for some Pho with my son only to find that kids eat free on Wednesdays! My son is a Pad Thai connoisseur and loves theirs. Every Wednesday since, my son and I have a Taste of Thai date.

My wife and I thought it was okay but would prefer other Thai restaurants. She ordered the PadSeeu which was okay; we both prefer Padthai over this dish. I ordered the Red curry; which I loved the sauce, it had a hint of the peanut sauce. And we ordered an appetizer platter; my wife loved the egg rolls; she said that they were really light and tasty. We both loved the appetizer's peanut sauce. The chicken was the only really big complaint. It had an odd taste and we thought it was over cooked. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant, which we felt the atmosphere was better than other Thai restaurants.

My wife and I eat a lot of Thai and Indian, we've been to nearly every place in Salt Lake and Davis counties, plus many others when traveling. This is our favorite Thai restaurant, in fact we drive 30 miles to come here. The spicy beef salad is rich in flavor, with the right blend of mint, lime, and chili. Most places offer a beef salad, but theirs kicks it up a notch, and is wonderful. If you are a fan of red curry, try their panang curry- it's like a super deluxe version. The crispy pork and the BBQ version are both cooked just right. Go during lunchtime and you can sample two entrees with steamed rice and a spring roll for only $8.

Dirty, unorganized dining room. The pitcher of water had a piece of paper floating in it. The Appetizer Platter was an array of freezer burned oily potstickers, crab wontons, and spring rolls. The chicken satay was also freezer burned and dry as sawdust. The Pad See Ew was off, it smelled old and one bite of broccoli confirmed that this dish was not made fresh same day. We sent it back and asked the server when it was made and she shrugged her shoulders and had no idea. My guess is the sauce was probably made weeks ago and is kept in the walk-in and when an order comes in, that same old sauce is used along with some frozen veggies and mushy noodles that had been pre-cooked god knows when. This dish has probably been getting complaints for a while because when we ordered it the server asked if we knew what it was, we said "Yes, it's one of our favorites at Sawadee", however, Sawadee makes theirs from fresh, with the exception of some frozen veggies, but it's pretty hard to screw up a soy based sauce. The green and yellow curries were edible and tasted okay, but again the veggies and chicken tasted freezer burned. Overall I think that this restaurant is on the decline and is probably still ordering the same amounts of food as it was when it was doing well, so they just end up freezing things and storing pre-cooked items. Be careful with this place, you could end up with some intestinal distress!!

I came here on a Tuesday night for the curry special advertised on their storefront, fb page and website ($6.99 curries all day Tuesday. I came alone because my husband was working late and ordered it to go. Apparently the special is "for dine-in only", according the the abrupt girl at the cash register. If this is the case, please advertise as such, otherwise it is so misleading! The entire dining room was also empty-yet they didn't bat an eye at such poor service. I still ordered my curry, and it was just alright. There are other Thai places in the valley I like much more. My red curry had a good amount of vegetables that seemed fresh and cooked appropriately, however the curry was made so tremendously spicy that I could hardly eat it. And I really, really like really spicy curries. Because I didn't like the food, and I didn't like the service, I won't eat here again. Had the service been awesome, I definitely would have given it another shot.

Decent. As far as Thai food goes, the Wasatch Valley has plenty of options. Taste of Thai won't win your loyalty, but it won't drive you away either. I had the Pad Thai (why else would you go to a Thai restaurant?). My wife had the Massama Curry. My Pad Thai was...well...decent. I've had better and I've had worse. However, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her Massama Curry. I had a nibble and I admit, it was pretty tasty. I will say, that the plating was pretty impressive. We are BIG Food Network fans, so stuff like that matters to us. For others, perhaps that is not a big deal. All in all, our meal was adequate. I don't plan on going back anytime soon, but I wouldn't skip out on an invite to dine there if such an opportunity arises.

The best Thai restaurant I have found in Utah so far. The food is very good, I have liked every dish that I tried and I have tried about half of the menu (my favorite is the pork and vegetables). There lunch specials are very affordable. Good food, good service, nice atmosphere, affordable, they even play good music, what else do you want? If their lunch special had the option of a side salad instead of dumplings or an eggroll this place would have gotten 5 stars. I would have to say that this is the best restaurant in all of Jordan Landing.

The Pad Thai was REALLY sweet and was made almost entirely of noodle and sauce without any additions. Beef in the Pho was surprisingly dry. Somewhat cold service. We probably won't go back.

Not the best Thai food in town, but the service was great, the food was hot (temperature-wise) the place was clean and the food was pretty solid. Given the Jordan Landing location, this puts them above many of their immediate neighbor competitors. I think some of the dishes we tried at lunch were just so-so, but it seemed to be an issue of seasoning.

I've got to say, that I've now tried nearly every Thai place in Utah by now, and while I still have yet to proclaim myself as an expert on Thai Cuisine, I know what I like, and I like Taste of Thai. The atmosphere is clean and attractive, the service fast and very friendly. As an addict of the sweet and spicy Gang Panang curry, I had to try theirs, and the taste certainly delivered. The curry was full-flavored and not too sweet, with great flavor balance and heat. They quoted me as having 5 different heat levels, and I ordered it at a "5". This wasn't really all that hot for me, so at my request they brought additional thai chili powder and chili oil to enhance my dish as desired. My wife ordered Pad Thai, and I enjoyed that a great deal as well. Full-flavored and fresh tasting, with just enough salty sweet spice, the dish was delicious. My wife also had to add additional spice however, as she ordered at a "2" and it wasn't spicy enough to her. She generally enjoys a medium heat level. The sweet sticky rice w/ fresh mango was some of the best I've had in Utah. Very very delicious. I'd highly recommend making a trip out to what amounts to best Thai on the west side of the valley. On a side note: It seems as though they try keep the heat level mild for the most part to be safe, but will allow you to adjust the heat to your liking, which is fine by me.

I'm always a little leery about trying Asian restaurants when I'm at home in Utah. I've been to many Thai restaurants in the Bay Area, and like to think that I have a pretty good exposure to what good Thai food can be--or not. To my surprise, Taste of Thai delivered. We ordered: - Massamun Beef -- definitely had some kick to it, but the sauce was pretty darn good - Thai Gai Yang -- Thai-style BBQ chicken. This one was for the kids, so I didn't get to try it. The kids gobbled it up, so I guess that it was pretty darn good - Pad See Aew -- This was pretty authentic, and I actually really enjoyed the dish. We got it with seafood (mussels, shrimp, and squid), and they actually were pretty generous with it. - Larb Kai -- now, this had a kick to it. It's ground chicken with some basil and chilis. (I'm actually sweating right now as I write about it!) It was darn good Service was good and they took care of us really well. Great little restaurant in this strip mall along Redwood Road. It's nice to see how the offerings have changed (for the better) since I've lived in Utah.

Aaron (the owner) has replied to my review as well as emailed me personally. He was very forthcoming about the reasons for our experience (they were short staffed on the night we went) and apologized multiple times. He also stated that if we would have brought our bad experience to his attention before leaving (which we should have done), he would have given us the meal for free. He offered to treat our family to a meal for free the next time we return (not in exchange for anything, of course). While I'm undecided on whether we'll take him up on the offer or not, I would like to amend my review. Anyone considering dining at Taste of Thai should do it. When it was good, it was very, very good. I sincerely hope it gets back to being as good as we remember. I'm changing my review to three stars as it isn't often that the owner responds to a review, explains and takes ownership of the situation, and offers to make it right.

Mediocre Thai food. If you like Americanized Thai food then this place is for you. If you want authentic Thai food, I suggest Thai delight down on 6200. I had their pad Thai and it just tasted bland and the noodles they used wasn't the regular rice noodles that other places have. On a good note, the coconut curry was good.

I've been getting coupons in the mail and on calendars for this place for a long time. I finally decided to try it. Y - U - M ! Very good, nice clean place. Staff is friendly and the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Their lunch special is terrific! If you like Thai food - TRY IT!

We had an awful experience at this restaurant. The food was very average and the prices were too high. The service was poor. We were the only ones in the restaurant on a Saturday night and after leaving, I'm not surprised by this. We also had a legitimate gift certificate that they would not accept. They told us it was because they were under new management. I will not be going back to this restaurant, and I will discourage anyone I care about to steer clear as well.

Good environment. I like Thai Delight's food better though. I ordered Phad Graphaw (Thai Basil), a dish known for being one of the most spicy Thai dishes and there wasn't a lick of pepper in it. In fact, I didn't even taste any garlic, something also normally a major part of the dish. Excellent service, great environment (they all greet you as you come in, and the manager stops by every table to ask how the food was), but I'd go to Thai Delight down the road where the food's better.

Just went here for lunch on a Saturday. Place was basically empty. Studied the menu and decided to split a lunch special of BBQ pork and a chicken stir fry dish. My son had the kids plate of pad Thai. His dish came out first and I immediately noticed that this pa tai was not freshly cooked as all the ingredients were mixed together. Then came our plate. Immediately we noticed that the pork dish was dried out, over cooked slices of pork that were obviously reheated somehow. It came with a side of chili sauce, that's it. The chicken stir fry also seemed to be overcooked - precooked chicken thrown together with sauce and veg. It came with a spring roll so greasy I could have wrung two tablespoons of oil out of it. One bite of the food ( a mistake ) and we were out of there. First and last time. I feel bad for them. I really do want small places like this to thrive, but they can't with food like this. Maybe their finances are short and they are cutting corners at lunch time...no excuse.
