The place is the best place to get all you can eat sushi! Very reasonably priced and you can search online for a $2 coupon. They are always bringing out new food during busy times(Friday and Saturday nights). My favorite thing about this place though is the ALL YOU CAN EAT ICE CREAM!!!!

This is only about the food. Not the sevice or ambiance or anything else. I love food, I'm a bad critic cuz I like most anything. But not when it's hard, dry, old, changing color, and smells. I have never eaten anything so old at a restaurant that serves the public. Do they have a health dept. here? This is where they're going to film the sequel to OUTBREAK.

Stay away. I'm not a food snob. The food here is old and been under a heat lamp. If there were more people here, the food would be more fresh. But it's just not fresh, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get food poisoning after eating here. Now going to take my family to dinner after a hard lessons learned. Trust me, keep your distance. You get what you pay for.

Ichiban does a good job with its marketing. For months I had seen glistening images of delicious sushi, masterfully prepared, arranged in neat rows on a buffet table, presented as if it was at Ichiban. When I walked through the doors for the first time, what I found was something else entirely. Well, maybe not entirely. It certainly wasn't what I had been led to believe The sushi is the same type and quality you can find at Harmon's only this is all you can eat. It isn't as fine a quality as Sakura serves but it is tasty, and did I mention all you can eat? The warm entrees were decent. There were 2 or 3 that I went back for more of. My favorite item on the buffet was actually the tapioca pudding. I probably like the Beijing Buffet better, as far as Chinese buffets in STG go, but I wouldn't normally recommend a Chinese buffet either way.

We went on a Tuesday at 8:30 pm., which were probably our first two mistakes. The food was pretty bad. The quality was low and everything was pretty chewy and tasteless. The mushrooms were good. The fried foods and skewers were dry and chewy. All the seafood tasted old and chewy. (One reviewer described the salmon as having the consistency of cooked oatmeal. I now fully understand this.) The sushi was alright. Avocado used in the sushi was brown, which is telling of the roll's freshness, although some were made fresh. The fresh ones were good. We couldn't even eat the desserts as they were dry and didn't taste very good. The pastries and tarts were awful. If simple desserts can't even be eaten and enjoyed, there's a problem. The prices were horrendous for what we got. (Including, last but not least, food poisoning.) $15 for a substandard buffet. The servers were curt and non-present. We won't be back.

If you want a sushi buffet, this is the place. The rest of the food is okay but if you want more bang for your buck go here! The yum yum sauce is my favorite. Their Las Vegas roll is as good as any expensive sushi place. It's not a Vegas buffet and it is only like 12 bucks so don't be expecting fine dining but I still enjoy coming here!

Msg palace. Old stale food, Chinese style sushi. There was not one thing I ate a full portion of. I had to throw out most of it even the desert. My wife didn't like it either. Pricey for the low quality food they serve. Servers are not friendly either. We'll never go back.

This place is not worth the money. VERY low quality food. Sushi and seafood way below par. Service was not great either. For the amount of money I would rather go to Benja's any day. If I could give a half star I would.

We have been here a few times. I have been to many, many sushi bars/restaurants in 35 years. That said, I have to try to be objective. For being in St George this place is good. No complaints about the food. It would be nice to see more real sushi entrees (not rolls) and a few sashimi selections. Price is reasonable. Will go back. Somewhere between three and four stars is about right.

Very rude servers. Awful customer service. DO NOT EAT HERE unless you want to be treated poorly. Maybe if this establishment understood that good customer service should be part of every business, they would have more customers.

The best buffet I have ever had, and at such a good price ($9.95 lunch, what?!). I've stopped at St. George for quite a few years now (from CA), and this is the first time I've found a quality Asian restaurant. There is a wide selection of Japanese and Chinese food, and the service is really nice. Highlights of my meal include a variety of rolls, seaweed...nomnomnom, and some very authentic Chinese dishes and soups. Ichiban is definitely a must-go if you are craving Asian food and in St. George!

This is the most delicious sushi I have had! Everything here is awesome! The prices are reasonable, and they even offer a 10% discount for people 60 years of age and older. It was only 4:30 PM but the place was already filling in quickly for dinner guests. It's no wonder! Hubby said that it's a good thing Las Vegas doesn't have Ichiban Sushi & Seafood Buffet, because we'd be going there much too often and become much too rotund! Hey...that's exactly how we got so fat when we first moved to Las Vegas...home of the buffets!

Will not be eating here again. Went to meet a friend, who did not eat with us. We were charged for her anyway and the old lady at the counter accused me of lying when I disputed the charge. As far as the food goes, the sushi was mediocre.

Good sushi for a great price. I love trying new things and I like being able to take one piece rather than committing to a whole role. I wish the different rolls were labeled better but some of them were an adventure. Will definitely be coming again.

It is what it is. Decent sushi at a very good price. I like to consider myself among the ranks of "Sushi Guru." Good sushi, let alone fish, is hard to come by in St. George. My favorites are Hamachi, Snapper, Maguro, Hokkigai, Unagi, Tako, Uni, etc. any of the nigiris. I don't consider fatty fried rolls with fake crab and cream cheese to be sushi. This place has both, but I was surprised to see a fair selection of nigiri offered. The taste is very fresh for an 8.95 buffet. If they'd offer more nigiri i'd give them 5 stars!

Nice variety of food. The sushi rolls had a good rice-to-filling ratio. I hate it when it's all rice with hardly any filling. Some of the cocktail shrimp wasn't so good. The baked mussels were delicious. I really liked the fresh fruit and green tea and mango ice creams for dessert.

So far so good. Not bad price. Food seems fresh. Might be a new stop when coming to St. George.... We've been back several times now, This is our new must go to stop. Great price and fresh food.

Love the Sushi Buffett!! The Sushi is NOT "real" buts lots of it!! They have other great Asian Buffett items with no complaints! The price is a little high! As with any Buffet... One time a month is plenty but alway enjoyable!!!

Okay so I write this as the fact that it is a buffet. I'm not a buffet type person because usually everything taste the same. But...this was really good. I was very impressed with the variety. This is the first time I have tried sushi. Although I only tried two of them, they were both really good. The waitress, Lily was very attentive to us and very friendly. I will be going back. And if Lily is there she told me she would help me out with the sushi. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because some of the food was a little on the cold side. To be fair though we went right between lunch and dinner. It would have been hard to make sure for that small of a crowd to have everything fresh.

I loved this restaurant. The sushi is amazing! Me and my family came here just the other day, and we all left completely happy and full.

This is not bad for a sushi/seafood buffet. For a place that is probably the only of its kind in the area, their quality could be horrendous and probably still draw customers because of its exclusivity. Ichiban, however, has decent quality and variety. I gorged myself on the sushi, as I will do time and time again at any sushi buffet. If this place was back in the Bay Area of CA, where I currently live, I would give it three stars. Because of its location, however, and because I am sure it's the best of its kind for miles and miles, I'll do it a favor and award it four.

I get here for lunch two or 3 times a month, so obviously I enjoy it. I am a vegetarian, but can easily gorge myself on the couple of vegetarian sushi items plus all the Chinese items (like vegetable fried rice, egg noodles, etc.) on the buffet. When they do run out of one of the few vegetarian items in the buffet, I'm kind of screwed, because it might take them 15+ minutes to make & set out more of that item, but other times, they've done it very quickly. I do wish that the buffet items could be better labeled as to what they are, and maybe they could even put a little symbol on the few items that are vegetarian or vegan, not that there are a lot of us veggie-types here in SW Utah.

WORST DINNING EXPERIENCE EVER! Always lure in tourists by tour guide and give lousy service. I walked out before eat. The Freddy's next door is a much better choice.

I will agree with what the other reviewer wrote about Ichiban, they are a welcome wonderful change to most of the food fare offered in St. George, thought it has become more diverse in the past few years. As a native bay area Californian who owns a home in Hurricane and visits several times a year, Ichiban has become a favorite for me, my family and visiting guests we bring there. They are incredibly reasonable for all they offer in sushi, fresh seafood (crab legs and fresh oysters) and a hot chinese food buffet and soup bar (with pho and udon). I will say that as of late they have been a bit inconsistant with bringing out and refilling the seafood to keep in fresh and palatable. Their sushi is always very good. I hope they continue to be successful and last through this economy, they are such a great bargain for the quality they serve,

My son and I went here last week for the first time. I enjoyed the sushi choices being a greater number than other places, but only a couple of choices did NOT have avocado in them. A bit more variety would be appreciated. (no, I'm not an avocado fan-lol). The buffet itself was fairly decent....I've had much better, but had much worse, too. The miso soup is NOT traditional and there were still french fries (the bane of the Asian buffet). We'll still go back and try the dinner buffet. We went for lunch. Maybe they could move the tempura sauce from opposite end of the buffet to next to the tempura offerings?

A little hard to find at first because the address is tricky. Just get off the freeway at Green Valley and head downhill, you'll find it. This place rocks. It has everything you can think of. A hibachi, all kinds of sushi, chinese food, frog legs, crab legs, chicken legs, lol. Ok no chicken legs. I like that they had all of the sauces in squirt bottles available to put on your sushi, like yam yam and eel. Did n't like that they put their special cherry sauce on some of my favorites. My son loved the orange chicken, I dug the frog legs, their version of Japanese Lasagna, and the macaroon cookies. Yummy. Very reasonable and only $1.25 for your drink.Service was great, grabbed my empty plate quickly, refills right there, and good smiles.

Squeezed in between the commercial anchor stores of Albertson's, Costco and Sportsman's Warehouse you would miss this place unless someone told you it was here, which is exactly why I'm writing this. Southern Utah isn't known for having much diversity in the food arena which was usually a fast food burger joint or smaller restaurant franchise chain, the standard American steak & potatoes/casseroles buffet, some mom & pop sandwich shop, or the many Mexican joints that have sprouted up over the past 5-7 years. As far as ethnic choices, really there aren't any. There have been a few Chinese restaurants that have still survived but as far as venturing out beyond the standard boring Utah fare, very little has changed. There are now 3 Japanese Restaurants, 1 Vietnamese restaurant, the one and only East Indian curry house closes when the Las Vegas owners said their was just not enough interest. St. George residents seem to prefer what they know best which is steak, potatoes, casseroles and burgers. True there are a couple of Italian restaurants, a Brazilian churasscaria, but everything else is pretty much main street America. Not a whole lot of diversity, which is why Ichiban is such a bright spot. According the the hostesses it is run by a young Chinese chef and his family and friends who have relocated to St George from New York & Chicago. Most of the staff is young and related to one another. For their prices, $9.99 for lunch and $13.99 for dinner, it is extremely under-priced for the level and quality of food their serve. It is not a fancy high priced Japanese restaurant but they've done a great job with what they have in what was formerly a deep fried Chinese restaurant buffet. The nigiri sushi and assortment of rolls are all professionally laid out. There is even a tempura station with hot prawns, and vegetables. Also available is Japanese Udon noodle soup. There is even green tea ice cream. There is an assortment of side dish salads: seaweed, seafood mix, kimchi, fruit salads, pasta salads, etc. Also not to be ignored, are the fresh oysters, snow crab, shrimp, baked salmon, gyoza, baked muscles or scallops on the half shell, teriyaki beef, etc. What I think most from the St George area like though as I have observed, is that they have asked the staff to serve more Chinese deep fried fare that they are familiar with. Stir fry noodles, honey walnut prawns, egg rolls, fried rice, etc. ~ none of which are Japanese but its what the locals like. There is also a hibachi grill with several types of meats and shrimp which one can choose a variety of veggies to be grilled teppanyaki style ..almost, but not quite. They also have an assortment of fruits and desserts as well as several flavors of rich ice cream. Overall, this place has so much going for it, but not nearly enough traffic. Can't say if its because they do not advertise or market themselves enough, but if they are going to stay in business, they will definitely need more support of which I am doing my best to get the word out. More people need to know where this place exists and if you're from out of town, I do you hope you find it. This is what most bigger and major cities have is their own seafood & sushi buffet but usually its double the price of Ichiban. If you do love Japanese and Asian cuisine, you will definitely find Ichiban a very great value and I believe, a new favorite place to frequent. I love the unagi (eel), tuna, salmon, yellowfin, skipjack, tako (octopus), squid nigiri sushi as well as everything else here ~ I also ask them to cut me sashimi style cuts without the rice as well..... I absolutely love this place as it reminds me of my home back in San Francisco which we left 8 years ago...now I have a little bit of it here in St George.
