This was a great campsite for staying in Zion. We camped so it was only $30/night. They have bathrooms with showers, but be aware showers are limited to 6 minutes and it works on a "token" system. You get tokens from the front desk at the Quality Inn at the entrance. If you can, request a camp site on the river, it's nice to walk into the river to cool off a bit, you can also go tubing down here. We only had a problem with one noisy neighbor, but after we chatted with them and let them know that they were the only ones being noisy, they quieted down. There are quiet hours at this campground, so asking someone to quiet down after these hours should do the trick if you have any problems. Also, best tip I would have is to head over to the bathrooms near the RV portion of the campground, they are less used and cleaner. I also went up to the lobby at the Quality Inn to charge my phone, nobody seemed to mind. Great site for a great price.

I went here two years ago in July and had a great time. There was excellent hiking, climbing, and good "swimming" in the river, although I don't know what the swimming is like at this time of year. Also, there was horse-back riding. The whole area is beautiful and surprisingly diverse as far as the types of hikes. There are beautiful hikes along and through the river, and more perilous hikes where you walk across a long, windy pass, that is 3 ft. wide and has a 1500 foot straight drop on both sides but leads to an awesome view of the whole park. Plus, Bryce Canyon is nearby, and that is also a beautiful place. There is good camping and a nice hotel at Zion as well as some bed and breakfast's. There is very little as far as restaurants or nightlife. Also, it's a bit far from San Fran but no worse than Arizona. Anyway, I highly recommmend it!!!

We stay here for over 20 yr. but this time the people in the office were rude . The bathroom were very dirty. Sorry to say I think it is time to find a new RV park . Witch makes me sad. Ever sense Quality took over it gone down hill

I don't understand how anyone could give the place more than one star. The other poor reviews are so true! Trash, poor shower conditions, zero lack if customer service after check in. Oh, and not to forget the best part- it's located right next door to a VERY LOUD factory of some sort that gets fired up at about 7am. Could be a cement factory

We were excited to finally get to camp at Zion. We didn't know what to expect as we made our way up the mountain on a Friday night in the middle of Summer (last weekend in June). Family members had went a few days before us and reserved us spots right along the river. I can understand how the campground can be difficult to find, with it being behind a Quality Inn. However, the site did not disappoint. Because family members got us a spot along the river, the views were amazing. With the stifling 100 degrees + temperatures, we spent most days in beach chairs and under pop up shades in the river. The teens we brought with us enjoyed being dropped off way North of our campsite, with their heavy duty inner tubes, and they lazily flaoted down the river. (Helpful hint: Try to bring water shoes and a sturdy inner tube/floaty, as the rocks in the river can leave you bruised) They also brought bikes and enjoyed riding around the campsite. They even went to on the mail Boulevard to explore. The younger kiddos we brought enjoyed floating in the area where we set up for the weekend. At night, we used their fire pits for Smores (because whats a good camping weekend without those?) Our group brought a variety of different things to sleep in: tents, pop up camper trailer, and a full small camper. It was a relief to have full hookups when one absolutely couldn't tolerate the heat. They just hopped in the small camper to get some A/C on them. The bathrooms and showers were clean and roomy. You are given coins for the shower, and we never run out of coins, even with the amount of people in our group. On one of our days there, we drove onto the main Boulevard and went to a store for some treats and supplies. We also drove around, making mental notes of other campsites and bed and breakfasts to possibly stay at in the future. We also paid our admission to Zion Park (our campsite is half a mile from the park and not actually IN the park), and drove up and looked at the scenery. Very beautiful! The windy road up the mountain and through the tunnel is a little narrow and felt a little scary, but we were in a huge Chevy Suburban with capacity at the maximum. We celebrated my daughter's birthday one one night, and it was so nice to spend some quality time with family. This is a spot we will definitely recommend!

We arrived at Zion NP too late in the day (noon) to get a first-come site at South Campground in the park. So drove out of the park .4 mi and came upon Zion Canyon Campground (Quality Inn). We picked a tent site near the new restrooms. Nicer sites are closer to the river, but the site we picked was fine as we spent our days in the park hiking, photographing and enjoying the Human History Museum. The new restroom building is wonderful, clean and the modern showers are fabulous. 6 min. of hot water is more than plenty - with the drought in mind, conserving water with shorter showers should be on everyone's conscience. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning. I would recommend this campground, at $35 a nite for a tent site it's a little pricey, but it is convenient to the park and the Springdale Shuttle. Nice to have wi-fi, clean restrooms, and be right on the Virgin River.

We stayed at Zion Canyon Campground during the middle of March 2015. We arrived at Zion NP after South Campground had filled up for the day so we were pointed towards Zion Canyon Campground. The front desk staff was very nice and, without us having to request it, offered us a nice site by the river. We were also happy to find out that the $35/night for tent camping included a shower a day per person (there were 2 of us). This made us think that maybe not getting a spot in South Campground was a blessing in disguise, as there are no showers at any of the campgrounds within the park. The negatives: -VERY small tent sites. The sites were small to the point that our neighbors could not fit their tent and car in their space and ended up encroaching on ours. Felt like virtually no privacy. -The $35/night felt a little steep, compared to the in-park campsite fees of ~$20/night we had experienced at the other stops along our trip, especially for such a small site. The positives: -Very close to Zion! We could walk to the park entrance or to a nearby shuttle stop and not have to worry about parking. The second day we were there we were planning on hiking Angel's Landing and knew we might be a bit tired at the end so we elected to get up early and drive, which worked out fine as well. If you arrive at Zion around 7 am in the off season (although spring break was still pretty crowded) then you will have no problems finding a parking space and can take an almost empty first shuttle of the day. -The bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. -Having a campsite on the river was wonderful. -There was a nice firepit and picnic table at ours. -Despite being quite crowded, it was still quiet. Due to the tight quarters, we ended up not cooking any meals at our site and instead elected to check out restaurants in Springdale for dinner and packing lunches to eat in the park. Some of the food in Springdale is awesome and absolutely worth checking out!

Made reservations to stay at the campground for Thursday and Friday without a problem. An email was sent stating my request for the reservation will be decided within 72 hours. I got an email back saying it was finalized. Being that Zion is a popular tourist attraction I was worried that the campground might've been booked up but I got the okay only a week before the trip to Zion. The campground is also part of an RV site and hotel. We received shower tokens as well (a token for each night stay) which was a definite plus. The showers were nice and there were about 4-5 showers. Each shower token lasted 6 mins which was enough time to get in and out. You also get access to their hotel pool and laundry facilities. The only downside was that each campsite was so close to one another and our campsite barely had any trees for shade. It was really hot. Most cars are parked in front of the campsite bc there was barely any room in their campsite. Also it's alongside the Virgin River. There is a free shuttle less than a mile walk from the campsite that takes you to and from Zion

We are just leaving this campground and would not stay here again. It was pricey for a campground, loud and the staff was not welcoming or generous. I asked for a cheap shower cap, they had some since they are also a quality inn, but they refused to give me one. When I complained they offered to sell me one for $.69. It was a bit ridiculous but I needed one. If you have to star here, ask to stay closer to the canyon walls and away from the rvs as they are loud and obnoxious when one is tent camping. They have token showers so prepare to take a fast 6 min shower. The bathrooms closest to our site are being "remodeled" so we had to walk to the other side of the campground to use one. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

What an amazing weekend, the site (if your on the river) is awesome. Coming in extremely early on Memorial Day weekend I thought for sure I was out of luck to find a place at all. Lucky for me I was greeted by Amelia who advised me that currently their were no places available though I could wait till noon to see for any cancelations. Amelia advised me that there was a place available and it was on the river . I had the best weekend of my life an it was credited to the amazing staff. Great site, great location, amazing staff.

We stayed here on August 1, 2015. If there was a way to leave negative stars we would opt for that...This was the absolute worst campsite we have ever stayed at. The views were incredible however the foul odor was intolerable. Our camper was connected to their water and sewer hookups. The water smelled to point of nausea and gagging.... we addressed the issue at 11pm after hiking all day at zion canyon. They said they definitely smelled an issue with the water and even took a sample to the manager at night who confirmed there was a major problem. We ended up disconnecting from the water source due to the toxic odors eminating from their connections. The next morning before we checked out we brought these issues to the attention of a supervisor named Beverly who stated to us "we should have moved at that time 11pm at night", what really? Unhook everything and reconnect to the truck to move again??? In pitch black night etc, not good service!!!!! I wouldn't stay here for free ever! Also the rest rooms were disgusting and had mold in the showers. Hair and other vermin were present in addition to loads of trash piled high without a cover to shield the smell and protection from wildlife... Ferber Resorts needs to get their act together when it comes to hiring employees and managing their property. Bottom line is you couldn't pay us to stay here again for free.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I stayed here for three nights, as watchmen was already booked and thought it was fine. It's more of like camping in the back yard since it's located behind La Quinta Inn. Our spot was quaint, but perfect to return to after a long day of hiking. There was a little wait for showers as new ones are being built, but they were hot! Yes, $35 is a bit steep for camping, but it's cheaper than a hotel and good for last minute reservations.

We stayed here in our trailer. We stayed in spot 44 and loved it. It was a pull through, on the very end of a row, right across the street from the river spots. We arrived on Sunday May 4th and left Saturday May 10th. We were in the same spot for the entire stay. We would gladly rent here again, but I'll tell you our negatives so you will know. We had asked for a river spot when we made our reservation, and we were denied a spot. But, there were several river spots open during our entire stay. So, they could have accommodated us. All in all, I think 44 was just as good, and I will reserve it again. Our view was amazing, and we like the pull through. Our trailer is 27' and it was plenty of room. There was also room to park our big truck on the edge. The shuttle pickup is right by Oscars which is just to the right of the campground, or across the street by the spotted dog, if you are going into town. VERY convenient. The reservation process is a bit frustrating. If you call they tell you they can only see one day at a time. If you ask for something in your reservation like a river spot, and they don't have it, they cancel the entire reservation without contacting you first. It kind of seems like they are going out of the way to make it hard. They get a lot of turnover in this campground. Most people seem to be staying for just a couple of nights. It was pretty quiet at night, except for one time. They let someone pull in at around 11 PM. They were right across the road from us and they had a diesel. It was really loud and we had to shut our windows and turn on the air conditioner to drown it out. I don't think anyone should be able to pull in after 9:30 PM. There were a lot of people around us with small kids, and many in tents or pop up trailers. You will see many people coming in that don't have reservations, they just drive/walk around and then go tell the office which spot they want. I don't think they are very organized with their space planning. We used the restrooms quite a lot and didn't see any toilet problems. We only used the shower in our trailer, so I cannot comment on that. The bathrooms seemed adequate to me. Hundreds of people are using them every day, so I could see where they might run into problems, but we didn't see it. There is more than one restroom/shower place. There is a play area for kids right by the bathroom in the middle. I saw a lot of people out there with their kids and it looked pretty good. We didn't have kids so we didn't use it. They have a pool up by the office. It would be SO nice to have a hot tub! It was a bit chilly when we were there for the pool. The firewood they sell at the office is coated in something (probably to make it light better) but it stinks really bad. If someone around you is burning that wood, you will not like the smell. We setup a hummingbird feeder and a finch feeder. We bought some sunflower/peanut type mix and fed the squirrels. We had a small zoo around our trailer. Hummingbirds are everywhere if you put up a feeder. Really cute... We will be back here next year. The goods outweighed the bad for us. I gave it 3 stars because there are some things they could improve.

If I could give a negative rating I would. Due to the Memorial Day holiday we missed out on reserving a site in Zion NP. Trusting the online reviews we booked a couple tent sites here. Unfortunately, this was the absolute worst campground we have encountered in more than 20 years of camping. Here is a summary of our experience: Pros: 1. Just a couple minutes from the SE park boundary, about 15 minutes to the visitor center. 2. Lots of chachka in the camp store (if you like that kind of stuff). 3. Snack bar with a few sandwiches and pizza. 4. The traffic noise does diminish after 1000 pm. Cons: 1. The toilets backed up frequently. We had to go to the office three of our five days to ask management to clean up the mess. ICK! We were told the bath/toilets were cleaned on a schedule. Over five days/four nights we saw no evidence of any regular attention to these areas. For one 24-hour period all the toilets in the ladies room were clogged (one had the plunger stuck in the bowl from more than 24 hours), had overflowed all over the floor, or were completely out of toilet paper. Wads of hair and other personal clutter littered both the showers and toilet areas. 2. The showers, while free, often ran out of hot water. 3. There is no cover on the campground trash container, attracting critters. 4. The managers, while willing to listen to our concerns, did little to address problems in a timely manner (hence, the mess in the ladies toilet/bath area for more than 24 hours). 5. The camp states it has internet. I guess technically, it does. It does have a wifi connection. However, we ran a speed test and found it runs at less than 400 kbps. This means there is not enough speed to open even one small, simple web page. For example, internet emails through Yahoo and Gmail are not accessible. Three of us tried three different (fast) Macs. Nada. 6. Over the holiday weekend the campground became very overcrowded. The managers appeared to allow anyone willing to pay the fee into the facility. Many campers found themselves camped out in what must have once been a horse corral. No doubt the facility sewer system was not designed for so many campers. Unfortunately, the campground valued increased camp fees over providing campers what they paid for. Bottom line: AVOID. Maybe try BLM land. Although you will have no amenities, at least you won't be charged for the hassle of staying at a campground.

This is the worst RV park we've ever stayed at!!! The showers were so disgusting if we had more time we would have contacted the health department. They sell you on the promise of Wifi, that is a lie! Don't expect any customer service after you've paid they clearly don't care!!!

So my boyfriend and I were there with our two pups the weekend of 4/19-21. We stayed at the Watchman campground in RV spot B3, and it was definitely one of the best at Watchman. We booked a little late and the only reserve spots available all weekend were the RV spots- GO FOR IT. It was so convenient to have electricity in the tent (we brought an extension chord and surge protector). The only downside we had during the weekend was that showers aren't available in the immediate area (you need to go into town) and there are some sites that were less than desirable. PROS: For $18 you won't beat the view, I woke up to the light hitting the canyon every morning. The restrooms were really nice compared to some others that I've seen in my parts. Fire pits have a grill grate, which seemed in good condition and extends your campfire cooking options. Setting up the tent on the campsite went by with ease; no large rocks and the soil wasn't rock hard. CONS: No showers. ANTS! (I'm new at camping, so I don't know if ants are as abundant anywhere else) All in all: there is no wood gathering, so bring some good kindling and fire wood, reserve a spot early, and take time to plan for an enjoyable trip (I brought the heating pad to heat the sleeping bags, and for one of the dogs to sleep on during the cold nights). I would not recommend bringing pets during peak season from March-November. See my Zion National Park review for more info.

We had a dis enchanting experience at this campground this time. We have been going there for years when my two kids were younger and we had no complaints. This time, however, was another story. I made reservations 3 months in advance. When we got there in our motorhome, the clerk put us "in the parking lot". I was not happy. She told me I could come back the next day to get a better site at 10:00 am, then at 12:00 ...no ...at 2:00. She never had any intention of moving us...we spent 3 days looking at concrete. No good at all. We will not be back....

Good for tent camping, too! $30/night is kinda spendy for a camp site, though. Stayed for 2 nights in early May. The National Park campgrounds were full, so at like 5pm we checked here and still got a great tent camp site down by the river. I'd actually rate our site (R29) as more like 3/5, as it was a little removed from the river and just over a berm (on the north side of the camp ground) from some kind of gravel quarry. Bump down to R28 and lower for what look like bigger, better sites right on the water. You're right in the shadow of the Watchman rock, with easy access to everything in Springdale via your feet or the Zion shuttles. Restrooms were clean enough. Didn't use the showers. Kids playground is nice, my 1 y.o. fell off the top of the structure, but the gravel cushioned his fall (don't tell mom). Great place to brush up on your German with the tourists, it seems.

Stayed here in an RV with a big group of friends and I have to say that we're extremely happy we did. === Location, Location, Location === + The campground is a half mile from the entrance to Zion National Park. You could walk there (although we were lazy and took the free shuttle anyway). + The free shuttle stop is a few hundred feet from the campground. + The Virgin River winds right next to the campground and you can run in whenever you want. After a long day of hiking, my friends and I went bought inner tubes across the street and hopped in the river and it was awesome. + The Zion Adventure Company is right across the street to meet your adventure needs with rentals for hiking equipment, wet gear, boots, tubes, etc. === Bathrooms & Showers === Bathrooms and showers were generally clean and well-maintained. A couple of my friends who thought public showers were gross were actually satisfied with them. To operate the showers, you are given a certain number of shower tokens, with each token lasting 6 minutes. You can get more for free if you ask at the front desk. However, most of us could shower for 10+ minutes with one token, so I'm not sure if that is a hard time limit (one friend claimed she was in there for 15-20 minutes on one token). === Staff and Service === The campground staff were pretty friendly and I didn't have any problems at the desk. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and would definitely stay again.

This campsite is inside the Zion ground and right by the river. It is such a beautiful site to camp and close to everything...especially the free shuttle system that the park provides. Having the river right beside us was AWESOME because it gets really hot there and we would just run down and cool off whenever we wanted. They do have restrooms and the rangers are really nice. Quiet time is from 10 pm to 8 am and people tend to respect that, however we, and many others did stay up with our fires up and voices down :) I gave it a 4/5 only because we have stayed at other campsites that have showers and I can tell you that after sweating your booty off on the mountain there is nothing like a shower. Check this place out if you are up in Zion though.....it puts you right smack dab in the center of heaven!

I spent about one week here and I have to say that was one of the best weeks ever. I know it's not all based on the camp ground. But when you get back from a seriously brutal hike...your never more thankful for it. The grounds were very clean, the toilets worked and were clean. There were no showers, so that was a new experience for me. And the site that we had was right next to the river. The photo posted was taken from our camp site at around midnight. It is absolutely beautiful at night here.
