Eggs benedict with loaded potatoes is delicious. For the price we got all of our food, we were pleased with the results. Definitely coming back. If only it was open later, we'd be back more often!

My wife and I both love breakfast so when we saw The Egg & I we knew we needed to try it. The restaurant itself is nice inside with a family restaurant feel. There is lots of indoor seating, including a large banquet room, and a big outdoor patio as well. Our server was friendly and food was served up fast. My wife enjoyed the Veggie Benedict and I had the french toast. My meal was pretty good, although the bread was a little soggy after buttering it up and drizzling some syrup on it. I think they either need to cook the french toast a little more or use thicker bread. Eggs and bacon were also good.

Disgusting restaurant. 5 trillion flies in the dining room floating above the tables. I saw employees scratching their face heading into the kitchen. Food was 3 stars. My eggs were over hard in a Benedict? Wtf? The customer service up front is so shitty. Half the restaurant empty yet it took the two socially awkward high school boys 10 minutes to get us sat. Please hire socially functioning people to greet and operate the register. The boy with curly short hair and glasses at the register was the worst ever. This place is a gloomy disposition. Don't eat here please.

We were lucky to get in on a Sunday. Every time we drove by we always saw that they were packed. Food was okay, almost on par with Cracker Barrel, kind of home cooked style of food. We had the eggs benedict and the Vera Cruz omelet. Both were very decent tasting. The service was great until the end when she put the check on the table and we waited 20 minutes and she was no where to be found so we took it up to the front and they rang us up there. Had I known I could have done that I wouldn't have waited. Not sure I would go back, now that the Original Pancake house is opening a 3rd location in Sandy we will frequent that place for sure.

Wanted to try brunch at a place other than Denny's or IHOP and decided on The Egg and I, which was just a few minutes away. Came in with little expectations but definitely came out very satisfied. On a Sunday at 10:30am, probably at 75% capacity and was seated immediately. Ordered the Vera Cruz Chicken and Avocado Omelet and the Colorado Jack Scramble. Food came out within 10 minutes, portions were moderate but everything tasted pretty good. If you order one entree, I wouldn't expect to be too full, but I would definitely come back again and try other items. I can't really complain about anything else.

DO NOT EAT HERE - FRAUD So we ate breakfast with our family and the total with tip was $46. Next day we see a charge for $56. We left our original receipt there no thinking anything about it and someone wrote over our total and charged us $10 more. We called the manager and they refused to do anything about it. These people are Crooks DO NOT EAT HERE.

Wow! Ok, when a place is open on Sundays, has excellent service and amazing food AND gets us seated in less than 10 minutes on Mother's Day, I'm impressed! (catching my breath) All our food was awesome! I can recommend the corned beef hash as some of the best I've ever had, and the hollandaise sauce was so good I was just dipping my perfectly toasted English muffin in it! Rebecca was a really nice server attentive but not hovering. Bottom line: Get your butt over here!

Seeing all the great reviews on Yelp made me excited to try this place. We came here on a Saturday morning and had to wait awhile, even though there were many empty tables. I ordered the Parisan Benedict which was good, but I wasn't a big fan of the sauce. My husband got the hikers Benedict and did not like it very much. The hot chocolate tasted powdery, and the Orange juice diluted. Our server was also nowhere to be found for most of our meal. Overall, this place is just okay. Slow service and long waits for mediocre food. I wanted to like it but we won't be coming back.

Eggs. The wonderful world of eggs!! Often over-looked, underappreciated, and poorly prepared. The Egg and I embraces the egg and turns breakfast in to the best meal of the day again. A complete menu with options to please everyone at your table and actually give them choices. Benedicts, omelets, frittatas, and plain 'ol eggs. Seafood to meat lovers to veggie. Denver to Greece, You have choices. The food was fantastic on this visit and a small mis-communication with the kitchen was quickly rectified with a sincere apology and effort to fix. The wait staff is very attentive and approach enough to make you feel loved but not uncomfortable.

I am usually not a breakfast fan so I reluctantly came here when it was suggested. I must say when we arrived we were promptly seated which is more than I could say for people arriving after us. This place was packed! So I thought good sign right? Our waitress was very kind and always there for us. The food came out pretty quickly for as busy as they were. I had the Chile Relleno dish which is a big chille made into an omelet. It was not like eating breakfast at all! I was quite surprised. It was not as spicy as I liked but had a strong Chile flavor that I truly found mouth watering. It came with hash browns that were more like potatoes you'd get with dinner. My wife had French toast and it looked good and the bite I tried was great! If you do come here I recommend showing up early. By the time we left, there were 25-30 people waiting in a line that went out the door!

I first found the egg and eye when I was in St. George and I went to it was great to be started popping up in this area in the Salt Lake City area I'm sorry for us to have gone to several of the boys liked him this place is but you really good it's not as busy this talking stuff sometimes works perfect and sometimes it gets really weird words The food was great this time is fairly quick or Saturday morning so I give it four stars and recommend anybody Tim

We visited the South Jordan, UT restaurant today. We ordered create your own omelets and they came with microscopic amounts of meat and veggies. The waitress -who we recommend -called for the manager who had the personality of a manikin. He did bring us new omelets however, and they were stuffed, like they should have been at first. They wonder why the place is empty on a Saturday? Don't skimp. That's my advice. The bathroom had almost no soap and the auto paper dispenser gives out a 3" piece of paper. If you're trying to get people in the door, give them their monies worth. Don't charge $10 for an empty omelet.

Booyah! - Im so glad we went here for breakfast. Hometown feel, home cook meal, friendly staff. Love it! You cant go wrong if you order the eggs benedict. If you like bacon, get the hikers benedict. The crab benedict is my favorite. Although the strawberry banana waffle was really amazing too. The prices are reasonable. You wont get as much food as black bear diner, but the quality and taste is spot on! Highly recommend this place.

I order take out from here about 3 times a month. I order the exact same item. Just order two sandwiches to be identical. They assured me my order was correct. Of course it was not and silly me... I trusted them. Two sandwiches are $20.00. For that price there is an expectation of quality and correctness. Very disappointed. You have lost my business. Sorry. I have expressed my concerns in the past!!

The food was basically pretty good. My wife loved her Greek Frittata. I had the Patriot Waffle to celebrate Memorial Day. Our server was nice and quite attentive, but my gripe is not just with Egg & I, but with most breakfast restaurants. Why can't the servers bring out the butter before the meal is served, to allow it to come to room temperature. You get served a hot waffle, and you are told they will be back with the syrup. When the syrup arrives, you then ask for some butter, by the time the butter arrives, the waffle is now cold, the butter is served cold and this makes for a cold breakfast. I hope every restaurant reads this post!!! WHY CAN'T YOU SERVE THE BUTTER and SYRUP FIRST?? I really didn't want a cold waffle.

Love the food here but NEVER order take out from them. I was put on hold 3 different times for 5-10 minutes each time I called. The last time I called the girl was kind of irritated with me since they were really busy and I would have to wait for a server to take my order. They are a busy place, I get that, but at least tell me that when you put me on hold or at least when I've called back a couple times and told you I was on hold for a while. I will go back to this place but I won't ever order take out from them and I'm disappointed in their customer service today. I'll change my review when I have a better experience. So to clarify, food is great, customer service isn't great, and takeout process is horrible.

I heard about this restaurant in Las Vegas but wasn't able to eat there du to the long wait so I was excited to find one close to my home in South Jordan. They weren't too busy so we were seated pretty quick, placed our order and food was out within ten minutes. The bacon was crispy, food quality good (better then ihop and other diners). There is a pretty decent amount of choices including healthy options! We will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing service and food. My new breakfast place. Presentation amazing and cooked perfectly. Very reasonable.

This is a terrific place to go for breakfast! The food is high quality and prepared with very little additional oil or butter. The omelets are fabulous. Eggs are fluffy and cooked well. Tried the whole wheat pancake today--split it, it's big!--and it was also fluffy and didn't have the iron taste some whole wheat pancakes do. Service has always been great. Servers know the menu and can answer questions about how things are prepared. I like the outside seating for the times I bike in. Plenty of room to stow the bikes by the railing. And there is an outside pet water and snack station in case you're out on a walk with the pup. And it's open on Sunday! Finally, somewhere other than a diner for Sunday brunch! There is a meeting room that can be reserved. They can set a menu if needed. Great for meetings or a morning book club. Yay for the Egg and I!

The Egg and I is reminiscent of a small town diner. The waiters and staff are kind, good with small talk, and want to make sure you're happy. The interiors are traditional and a bit dated, with a yellow-tan wall color, French hen décor and oak tables and chairs. The menu is pretty extensive for a breakfast-and-lunch-only restaurant, with some creative options, though for the quality of the food we received it was overpriced. I like this place for the fact that it is a bit more unique in menu and concept than Denny's and IHOP, but I rated it three stars due to the prices and quality of food. The menu and recipes aren't the problem here, it's the quality of the ingredients that they use. Would love to see this place improve in that respect, as well as the interiors updated. All-in-all, a friendly little place for breakfast or lunch, that just needs a bit of improvement.

We love the Egg and I in St George. Today we tried this one and it was great. I had the pineapple coconut pancake. The service was good too.

One star for being one of the very few breakfast joints in this area. Another star for the ambience and get your own coffee in the waiting area. We went around 10:30 on a Sunday and there was a wait of about 15 minutes. There were a lot of large parties consisting of senior citizens and large families. The dishes we ordered were the flapper breakfast (pancake, sausage, and eggs) and the egg-ceptional omellette with ranch potatoes and english muffin. The food was mediocre, but our server was nice and friendly. As a hash brown lover, I was disappointed that they only offered ranch potatoes. We would come back if we were in the area but not go out of our way to dine here.

We tried a lot of different things and were very happy. My wife liked her hazelnut milk steamer. The biscuits and gravy were great the bacon crispy and flavorful. We weren't overwhelmed by the breakfast burrito though it was okay. Make sure you get the potatoes loaded they were delicious. Drinks were empty a good amount of the meal which was the only issue.

This is the same Resturant they have in Vegas but theirs in called Eggworks. It's flipping amazing. Haven't been here yet but it's a must try. Make sure to get there early or prepare to stand in line. If you have to wait then you know it's great food!! So glad my cousin told me it's the same Resturant. Now I don't have to wait to go to Vegas for amazing breakfast!!

  • Natalie B.

This place is great everytime. The wait staff is so friendly and attentive. So many food and coffee options! Try the create your own omelette or the oatmeal with fresh fruit. They accidentally made my omelette with regular eggs instead of egg whites and took it off the bill without any question. I was not expecting that at all. I simply expect the right item to follow. Amazing customer service from the waitress and manager.

  • Shannon E.

I was very disappointed today especially since it has an overall rating of 4 stars. We came in toneR about 11am. There were 10 open tables and about 6 different parties sitting at the front either waiting to be seated or checked in. One lady said people keep leaving but they are not sitting anyone. The front was crowded already and then people from the "meeting room" we're leaving and made it even more crowded. That was already frustrating when there is a lot of tables open. We sit and our waitress helps us immediately. That's great until she never came back til we needed our check. Someone else brought out the meal. The food is mostly why I'm giving them one star. I had the corned beef hash (yuck!!!!) and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. It looked and tasted as if it was all out of a can or bag and premade. Very generic and bland. Might as well went to Denny's. For me it was disappointing and a waste of money. The kids liked their whole wheat pancake and they added a grape cut in half to be the eyes. That was cute. We won't ever be back again. If I want nasty cheap food I'll go to the freezer section of premade foods at the grocery store.

First timers. We stopped in on a whim. Never heard anything good or bad prior to it. My wife and I had a great first time experience. Ingredients are fresh as you making it at home. I had the Colorado Jack Scramble with pork green chili, sausage and english muffin. It came out looking and tasting perfect. Love that they have fresh hazelnut coffee and fresh cream served cold in a refillable container. Service was excellent. Not much of a wait on food. No wait for refills. They specialize in breakfast and lunch. My wife had the Parisian Benedict with fruit. We will be back soon!!!

First timer here! And the food and service is absolutely fantastic. Our servers name was Lisa and she was an excellent server. Super funny, smart and knows the restaurant inside and out. The food was exceptional, I had the eggs Benedict and substituted my English muffin for a croissant and it was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time! I ate every bite and my companions also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The food came up very quickly and the server and manager both checked on us to make sure we were okay. 5 star rating across the board for this place! I highly recommend it

I was sitting in the Village Inn parking lot at The District thinking that this really isn't good food and it's not local, so I opened Yelp! and looked for a mom and pop diner for breakfast. I had to drive 10 more minutes to get to The Egg & I but the Texas Skillet was worth it.

I have been labeled the skinniest fat kid people have ever met!! I LOVE FOOD!! And my folks had mentioned to try the egg & I ... So naturally I was hesitant but in the the end I was blown away!! Best service and food!! Annie is the best waitress!! And she recommended to try the side potatoes LOADED!! By god that was the best side potatoes I've ever had in my life!! I definitely give em a 10 a friggin 10!!

Absolutely delicious! A must have for you egg lovers out there! Also, Jesse their General Manager is an amazing host who legitimately cares for the satisfaction of his patrons! We'll definitely will be back.

Thank goodness for a breakfast place that #1 is in South Jordan and #2 is open on Sunday. Hallelujah! My husband and I tend to just pick up Kneaders breakfast sandwiches when we're feeling too lazy to make something for our weekend breakfast but on Sunday's they're closed which used to leave us with the option of trying to dig up something random at home or getting ready and going out, typically somewhere on the other end of town. Finally no more of that! We can head out after our son gets up and beat the rush or one of us can run out and pick up something to go. We went there recently and ate in. I definitely second what someone else said about the entry being packed. Luckily we got there early enough that we didn't have to witness that fiasco until we were leaving. Beating the rush meant our service was good and everything came out hot. I am a huge fan of Eggs Benedict so I asked our server for a recommendation. She said she loved the Crab Cake Benedict and the Hikers Benedict. I have tried a crab Benedict elsewhere and didn't like it but I am always on a quest to find a reasonable crab cake in any form so I decided to try it. I am happy to report it not only tasted good but was a large enough portion I walked out stuffed. The eggs were also perfect which is huge for me when I order a Benedict. I can not handle an egg that is overcooked which tends to happen in a lot of places. This one was perfect. Cooked whites and perfectly runny yolk. YUM! Our second time back we decided to try an order to go. I like to live dangerously so I decided to push the boundaries of Eggs Benedict and see if it would survive a ride home. I decided to try the Hikers Benedict since our server had not steered me wrong the last time. We got that to go and when my husband got it home it was perfect. The eggs were once again cooked just right and they put the hollandaise sauce on the side so you can pour it on when you get home. This kept the English muffin from getting soggy and from the sauce getting gross. The veggies were well cooked and there were plenty of them. Also the diced ham tasted good. I always fear diced ham because it tends to be really cheap at many breakfast places but this one looked like they had just diced up a ham steak instead of buying some pre-cubed concoction. The only thing I have found is their ranch potatoes tend to be too salty for me. I can handle them if I have some extra hollandaise to smother them in but otherwise they're a bit much for me. My husband did mention the green chicken chili hash needed to come with more than one tortilla and I would agree with him. The tortilla was rather small and I would have had him order a second one if we were eating in. Otherwise we've always liked what we've got and I am happy that there is a close place I can get a good Eggs Benedict on a Sunday. I recommend you wake up early and beat the rush or just get your order to go. Either way we'll be back to this place for sure!

Today was the second day I went in and was ignored. Today I walked in and stood in line for 10 minutes and had 2 other groups sat before me. Even after I was the only one standing at the hostess station the hostess disappeared. This used to be my favorite place to have breakfast. Now I won't be going back.

  • Tyler S.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We went on good Friday and they were having a special which was a bonus. I had an omelette since egg is in the name and it was very good. Great service and it is a much better food then traditional place like Denys or IHOP I was expecting quick serve and it is a sit down place but nice.

  • Misty H.

The Egg & I has become our go to breakfast place. Its a nice change from the other over crowded options. We like the outside dinning. Its covered dining but nice to eat outside. I have my favorite go to. I love the chicken Chili Skillet. Its so good. Though beware they do love to add a lot of green peppers. That has been the one consistent with the dish. So last time I customized with NO Green Peppers. They were happy to customize my order. The waitresses are always nice. I love that they bring you a carafe of diet coke or whatever you order. Plus my husband loves the coffee and they leave the carafe of the coffee. They gave us to go cups when we left of our beverage. I have never been disappointed. If you are out and about for breakfast I strongly suggest this delightful place!!

    (5)
  • Mr V.

Average breakfast at best. Should've gone with my gut and eaten Trio or Cliffhouse. Waitress is doing bare minimum and hasn't even brought waters yet after our food is almost gone. 3 stars for breaking it even based on that I'm sure the owner works hard and is overseeing best he can. People seem to like it though. Maybe it's just an off day. We all have them.

  • Rachel D.

Maybe I am spoiled by great breakfast joints in Salt Lake like Park Café, but this place was just not that great. The food was comparable to a Denny's. I got an omelette which had slightly overcooked cheese, while the potatoes and English muffin were undercooked. There was more grease and butter than I would usually encounter at a typical diner. The staff and service were great, though. Very friendly and helpful.

  • Robin A.

The egg and I is a real solid place to get breakfast, it's nice having something like this at this end of the valley. I had the eggs Benny and it was so good, nice hollandaise sauce not to salty with just the right amount smothered, the Canadian bacon was also great not to thin. This dish came with either grits or the house potatoes, I opted for the potatoes which had a nice Ranch seasoning to them. My daughter had the French Toast and her meal was also great(she's a picky one) looking forward to my next meal they had a breakfast sandwich that looked killer...

    (5)
  • Donny T.

I really like their breakfast. Grits are fantastic. Coffee is better than most diners. I would give it 4 stars if I could get a mimosa with my breakfast.

  • Derek W.

Since the opening we have been back twice now. Once for lunch and one more time for breakfast. The food and service is still awesome.

    (5)
  • Debbie L.

Today was my first experience with the egg and I. I ordered something very basic. Eggs toast and bacon. Very tasty. The eggs and toast come with ranch potatoes. Get them loaded! A green chili sauce bacon and cheese smothered batch of potatoes becomes the highlight of the meal! My daughter ordered the cinnamon apple and granola pancake which was bigger than my head and very tasty as well! Our server was very attentive. Brought us bacon instead of sausage but promptly remedied that once informed. The boys were happy to enjoy extra bacon though!! Ultimately we are so excited to have a breakfast place on the way to work with tasty food to take out or eat in! The downside is that the entry gets crowded really fast. Between waiting to be served and paying with the cashier there is just not enough room as you walk in. We will be definitely going back! (Getting loaded potatoes!)

  • Ryan B.

I love diners and this place is the best of them all. It's very clean and tidy. The staff is awesome, very friendly. They go over the top like giving you a full pitcher of water or coffee so you don't have to wait for a refill. The menu is perfect. Lots of breakfast options (eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, etc) but also has lunch items like sandwiches, salads and soups. There's a green chili chicken and egg hash that is insanely awesome, among other dishes as well. The coffee (five or so different options) is absolutely delicious. This place rocks and needs to be better promoted as I don't feel enough people know about it. I can't think of one thing that I don't like about this place.

    (5)
  • Vivi N.

This place is ok. I have never been a big fan of breakfast food BUT coming from southern California, the land of amazing brunch locations I had been converted. HAD BEEN being the operative word. Now I am not sure where I stand. The ranch potatoes were good but there was nothing else on the menu that I couldn't make at home and more to my liking.

    (3)
  • Paul T.

Food was pretty good. Small portions for the price. Left still hungry. Good place though

    (4)
  • Lisa J.

French toast was burnt bland tasteless. Margarine was used instead of butter. Pretty sure eggs were powdered. Hubby said food was bland also.

  • Kirstin N.

We were so excited to finally see another breakfast place in our area. The coffee is great and love that you can get yourself coffee in the waiting area. But the service is awful. Just awful. We never got refills on coffee or water unless we asked, and it took forever. We were never checked on after we were brought our food. I think they either need to train their servers better or get more.

    (2)
  • Ari C.

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as menu, decent food, overpriced for what you get, always too full but more because of poor planning and set up. I'd like to go back and see if my opinion changes.

This was the best breakfast, including brunch anywhere, I've had in the state, and ask for Annie; great server.

    (5)

The food was excellent I had the poached eggs on a croissant tasted great. The yep was good and the potatoes seasoned just right. Server (Rachael) as attentive and check in on us just enough. I definite repeat.

I was really hoping for something that was above a chain restaurant experience for a breakfast joint. I ordered the Hiker's Benedict (poached eggs over chopped ham, mushrooms, tomatoes, and asparagus with the traditional English muffing and hollandaise sauce). It was bland. The sauce was thin and runny. They were skimpy with the sauce also. It just wasn't a rich flavor. The potatoes were of the production variety. All in all, it is a chain. I gave them my feedback. They seemed took it in stride. I'll give them another chance but this place won't be a go to.

    (3)
  • Cee L.

service was efficient and the food was ok but on the pricy side. i had a skillet with hollandaise sauce and they were skimpy with the sauce. it's a generic restaurant. whilst the franchisee may be local, it's part of a chain. the place is very clean and not offensively decorated, it just has zero character. i wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again but it is acceptable.

  • Portia G.

We came in on the Labor Day morning, and we were told that it was busy and we would have to wait for 20 minutes for the food to serve. We ended up waiting for a little more than 1 hour and 5 minutes after the food came, the server brought us the check. The place was pretty packed but not bad enough to take 1 hour to make a pancake and an egg scramble. The food was okay but not worth the waiting BTW. I don't know if it was because we came in on a holiday. But I was't quite happy.

Try the Draper location! It's terrific! (Maybe someday we'll try this location again but they have serious problems with the staff).

    (1)
  • Kathryn W.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Waited 20+ minutes for a table when there were 9 open. 9! Without explanation. Finally got sat, service by the waitress was excellent. Food was a joke, at best. My husbands food came out at least 10 minutes before everyone else's. When the remaining 5 orders came out, 4 of which were for children/teenagers, calling it disappointing would be an understatement. All the food was cold/congealed like it had been baking under a heat lamp for some time. My youngest wouldn't even eat the macaroni and cheese, normally her favorite. I sent back my eggs Benedict for being cold, so they re-heated it and added more sauce, killing the dish completely. The accompanying grits had a skin covering the top. Nope. Then my middle daughter found a hair, A HAIR, in her burger. Done. The poor waitress handled this all very well, and I will give credit to the restaurant for waiving the bill for the entire meal, but I don't know if we are willing to try this place again. If zero stars were an option, that is what I would leave. The one star is for the service from the waitress, that is all.

So glad we tried The Egg and I this morning! Great new breakfast/lunch spot in south Jordan! Things we liked: soda came with a small carafe to refill with, loaded potatoes were amazing, great variety and quality of food for breakfast, server (Eddie) was awesome! I even added my potatoes to be loaded after I ordered (and saw the yelp review to try it) and he was happy to run back and have them change that for me! Delicious! Hope to try it out for lunch soon!

  • Matt S.

Service was great! This was our 3rd time there today and we loved it. Jessie, the manager, always remembers us which is nice. A lot better of a place than carb overload IHOP. I always get the Mediterranean frittata and add the hot sauce that is on the table. They always bring extra coffee or soda if you order a drink. The ranch potatoes are off the chart, make sure you get them loaded with all the extras. We will definitely make this an every weekend trip.

Meh...I can't say much more than that. Sub par diner...too bad because I love a good greasy spoon.

Very, very good. Got the artichoke florentine eggs Benedict and it was excellent. Great food, great service, great value. Can't wait to go back on my next trip out here.

I heard a lot good things about this place so I was excited to try it out. They just opened one up in Draper and that is the one I visited. I actually tried it a couple times trying different things on the menu. Not entirely impressed but the strawberry banana waffle was alright. The sandwich I had was too salty for my taste buds. I am willing to go back one more time to have the Egg and I win me over.

A different place to have breakfast than the usual places around Salt Lake and the south end of the valley. I had a skillet which was very tasty. $3 for a an 8 oz glass of OJ seems a little steep though. I would recommend this to others.

First time here and it was a Saturday morning around nine. We only had to wait about ten minutes. The food was good. My husband had the corn beef hash and I had the Colorado Jack scramble. Both were very good. I was disappointed we couldn't choose between pancakes and toast, but rather both dishes come with an English muffin, which seems to be the case with most dishes. Service was fairly quick and the place seems clean. Our server was less than attentive and did only the basics for her job, not even asking about refills. I finally asked another server for the straw I requested when our drinks were delivered. The other server was very quick and friendly. I wish we had a different server because it's strange how those silly things make the difference between five stars and four. We waited several minutes to get our check back so we could leave. In fact, it was long enough to write this whole review and edit it. We might go again, but I don't see it becoming our new regular breakfast place.

Kind of pricey for breakfast food. I ordered the Athena, an asparagus with mushroom and spinach omelette served with feta cheese. Really a wonderful mix of flavors if a bit on the greasy side. The service is passing... maybe just a slow time of day?

I met a friend at the Egg and I for lunch on 2/16/15. My friend and her husband asked if the omelette was pretty big--enough for them to share. The waitress said it was pretty big and that they used three eggs. But the omelettes seemed small to me. If they used three eggs, they must have been very small eggs. I had a "create your own" omelette with spinach, cheese and bacon. It was good but I didn't see any bacon in it. I didn't like the potatoes which were small chopped pieces of potato. I would have preferred hash browns but they didn't have them. The bacon was okay but I have had better. My grandson had a belgium waffle which he really liked. He said he liked the nuts on them the best but other than that was like other good waffles he has had before. My friends who shared the omelette ordered an english muffin because they were still hungry. My grandson and my friend also ordered the hazelnut hot chocolate. My grandson rated it a 4 stars and said it was good. I would go again but really wish they would offer home made hash browns. I thought my english muffin should've been just a bit browned but I ate it and didn't ask for it to be done darker. The waitress was very nice and did a good job.

WOW! Absolutely amazing! We went on rainy Saturday April 26th 2014 at approx. 11am. The service, the food, the prices were just incredible! I am a customer for life! We had such a good time, on such a cold rainy day, it was perfect! The hot coffee was freshly brewed, and they left the carafe on the table, which is always wonderful. The atmosphere is fun, and lively, and family friendly. It was a great cozy start to a cold weekend. I had the crab cakes benedict, and it was heaven. We were treated so well, I cannot wait to go back! I am so glad we have such a terrific breakfast place in South Jordan (finally)! YUM! Oh yeah, and there is a coffee bar to enjoy, if there is a wait to be seated; GENIUS!!!

meh - slow. had a new server. my rye toast had mold or freezer burn on one piece. their hot sauce was similar to Tabasco. kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes. one daughter wanted blueberry pancakes so they made me order off the regular menu since it's not on the kids. she only ate about half - so that was a waste. they need to be a little more accommodating in that regards. the scrambled eggs are bland. it will be quite awhile till I come back.

This is The first and only sit down Breakfast Restaurant in So.Jordan (at least this part of town) and it's great to finally have something like this.Plus one of the best Chain places that serve Breakfast to most likely because thats all serve (Breakfast,Brunch and lunch only).I have never been disappointed. From Eggs,to French Toast,to Omlettes.Good Coffee to and a great staff. They aim to please.

French toast was burnt bland tasteless. Margarine was used instead of butter. Pretty sure eggs were powdered. Hubby said food was bland also.

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as menu, decent food, overpriced for what you get, always too full but more because of poor planning and set up. I'd like to go back and see if my opinion changes.

I was sitting in the Village Inn parking lot at The District thinking that this really isn't good food and it's not local, so I opened Yelp! and looked for a mom and pop diner for breakfast. I had to drive 10 more minutes to get to The Egg & I but the Texas Skillet was worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We went on good Friday and they were having a special which was a bonus. I had an omelette since egg is in the name and it was very good. Great service and it is a much better food then traditional place like Denys or IHOP I was expecting quick serve and it is a sit down place but nice.

Absolutely delicious! A must have for you egg lovers out there! Also, Jesse their General Manager is an amazing host who legitimately cares for the satisfaction of his patrons! We'll definitely will be back.

I really like their breakfast. Grits are fantastic. Coffee is better than most diners. I would give it 4 stars if I could get a mimosa with my breakfast.

Since the opening we have been back twice now. Once for lunch and one more time for breakfast. The food and service is still awesome.

Food was pretty good. Small portions for the price. Left still hungry. Good place though

French toast was burnt bland tasteless. Margarine was used instead of butter. Pretty sure eggs were powdered. Hubby said food was bland also.

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as menu, decent food, overpriced for what you get, always too full but more because of poor planning and set up. I'd like to go back and see if my opinion changes.

Very, very good. Got the artichoke florentine eggs Benedict and it was excellent. Great food, great service, great value. Can't wait to go back on my next trip out here.

This was the best breakfast, including brunch anywhere, I've had in the state, and ask for Annie; great server.

The food was excellent I had the poached eggs on a croissant tasted great. The yep was good and the potatoes seasoned just right. Server (Rachael) as attentive and check in on us just enough. I definite repeat.

I have breakfast here every Saturday morning. I always have a wonderful breakfast with wonderful service. So glad they have opened in South Jordan.

I'll give them another chance but this place won't be a go to.

service was efficient and the food was ok but on the pricy side. i had a skillet with hollandaise sauce and they were skimpy with the sauce. it's a generic restaurant. whilst the franchisee may be local, it's part of a chain. the place is very clean and not offensively decorated, it just has zero character. i wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again but it is acceptable.

Delicious breakfast. Our server Diamond was fantastic and everyone was more than willing to accommodate substitutions and off-menu requests.
