I was down on the South end of the valley randomly and happened upon U-Swirl and I'd never tried it so I stopped to see how they stacked up next to my favorite fro-yo spots. Hours are great, open til 10 pm during the winter and 11 in the summer. The decor is on point for what a trendy fro-yo shop should look like (tile backsplash-y thing, clean, mod furniture) and the teenaged girl employee was nice enough. They had about 10 different flavor combos and their machines look expensive. You have the choice of choosing a 16 oz or 20 oz cup but you still pay for the weight of what you make either way. Toppings bar was pretty varied and rather large. They had things I'd never seen before like big tub of peanut butter sauce. I went with my standbys; mochi, cheesecake bits and strawberry popping boba. Now on to taste...the yogurt itself had absolutely no tartness to it and the cheesecake flavored yogurt tasted 100% exactly the same as the one Maverik carries, which I believe is YoCream and is only $1 a cone. It also tasted almost...freezer burned. The popping boba topping was yummmm. The cheesecake topping was all smooshed onto the spoon so it was really hard to scoop into my cup. I got a couple of pieces, and they tasted good. Now for the heartbreaker itself....the mochi. Ah, my sweet mochi. It was dried out and hard. Say it isn't soooo!
