This place has changed quite a bit, first came about 10+ years ago when they had a coupon for buy one get the 2nd half off, not sure why I haven't been back. Most of the food was very delicious, other parts were too busy with so many different flavors and items all over the place. Very confusing on the palette. Great service, great food, a little pricey, will come back to try their other items and daily specials and this time save room for some dessert.

I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. My husband and I came here for my bday and we loved everything. The Crab cakes for an appetizer were so soft and delicious. The house salad was AMAZING. The house dressing and the candied walnuts were incredible. We both got the special of the night, which was a steak, potatoes and veggies. All were excellent. The steak had a dark chocolate sauce with a blue cheese on top. They both complimented each other so well and the steak was very juicy and soft. The service was awesome and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. I could go on and on. This restaurant is now at the top of our list of the nicer restaurants in Utah that are actually worth the money you pay!

We went here to celebrate my wife's Birthday, and what a great pick it was, everything was perfect from start to end. This is a really great place for a date night or special occasion. The ambience inside is very cozy, and dimly lit, but in a good way. There is also an outside patio area which has both a covered and a non covered part. We dined on the covered patio area and it was wonderful on a perfect sunny evening. The service from being greeted, seated, drink order taken, food order taken and through all the courses was nothing short of amazing. Always upbeat, super friendly and personal. That is so refreshing and really made our experience. So now you're saying, come on man get on with it - what's the food like? Fine, I will bow to peer pressure :) Well let me just say, it's awesome and delectable. You can finish reading at this point and just believe my 5 stars if you like, most of you are probably not awake at this point anyway! We started out sharing the seared scallops. These are pan fried and come in a really tasty cream sauce. Cooked to perfection and did not disappoint. In fact my wife said this was the highlight for her. They were very good! Next course was the house salad with balsamic salad, pears, candied pecans and fontina cheese. This was great too, perhaps a little heavy on the dressing, which made it a tad over filling, but tasted awesome. This was then followed by a water melon sorbet for pallet cleansing before the mains. So the mains... I had the New Zealand lamb tenderloins. I asked for medium rare which in my opinion is the best way with lamb and it was done perfectly. Honestly the best lamb I have ever had. The whole thing was utterly delectable. My wife had the tenderloin of beef. She asked for rare and it was perfect. I tried it too and it was fantastic and very flavorful. Mashed potato was also really good. So overall, it's amazing - just try it!

Very satisfied customer! Our reservation was at 7:30 didn't end up making it until 7:45 they still sat us within minutes. We dined on the outside patio, very relaxing. Our waitress was very knowledgable and attentive. Great pace between courses. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious!

After hearing great things from friends about Tiburon, finally decided to give it a try. We ordered the diver scallops as starters and they were a fantastic choice! The scallops were seared without being overly cooked and the tomato cream sauce complimented the flavors well. They followed up the app with a homemade watermelon sorbet which hit the mark. Very refreshing and cleansed the palate admirably. As a stand alone dessert this would do well. On to the main course. My date ordered the Kobe ribeye while I ordered the New Zealand elk as we were feeling particularly carnivorous that evening. Both entrees were ordered medium rare and given the experience on the appetizer and sorbet, the main courses didn't quite reach the incredibly high expectations that were set. The food came as ordered and the meat was excellent, though the highly anticipated seared/char-grilled crispy "crust" which results from extremely high temperatures wasn't quite there. The various sauces along with the vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes were on point and rounded out the entree well. Overall a great restaurant worthy of second and third visits.

We had a wonderful meal here. I'd say its a 4.5 star joint, but thats not an option and the half star deduction was for something minor. When we walked in, it seemed like the host was lost. Maybe it was just an "off day" or he's new, but something didnt seem right for a place considered to be fine dining. Once we were sat and our server came out, everything started to fall in place. She had great wine recommendations for the entrees, told us the specials and what her favorites were and ended up making the decision of what to eat difficult...everything sounded amazing. We started with the Crab cakes and they were delicious. They were a little different than what we were expecting, but they tasted amazing. Both of us ended up going with the elk and neither of us was sad we did. It was perfectly cooked. Very tender. The veggies and potatoes complimented the plate great also. We cant wait to come back, but it will probably be after we win the lotto.

There aren't many places in salt lake if give 5 stars to but their food is phenomenal. The service is decent l guess. We've been a few times and felt left in the dust once or twice. This obviously hasn't stopped us from going.

I enjoyed the food here so much! I'll be back before I leave Salt Lake City for sure! The service was fantastic as well! We ordered the mussels to share. I had the lamb as my main. The palate cleanser grapefruit sorbet was fantastic! My salmon was cooked perfectly!

Ken & Valerie (Owners) have done a fantastic job making this restaurant truly spectacular. Although it is a fairly small establishment, they offer great food and one of the best wine selections in the Salt Lake Valley. Be sure to make a reservation before going!

After seeing The Wild Rose last week, it kind of given us something to compare with from our last night's dinner at Tiburon. We had seared scallops and jake's mussels. We loved the scallops over the mussels. The scallops were perfectly cooked and it was so soft, juicy and kind of melt in your mouth perfection. It tasted really great! As for the main entree, my wife had their lamb tenderloin and I got the ahi tuna. Both were good, but I've had better ahi tuna. For me, the seven pepper spice and black sesame seeds over powered the tuna and really didn't raised its flavor. It could have been flavored and seared that way to cater to non-sashimi flavor eater, but for me, I missed the flavor of my raw tuna. Wild Rose is better setup for a more private dinner date than Tiburon. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan. Their service is impeccable and really felt they took care of us.

Wow! I wished I'd lived closer since this place is as good as it gets! I wanted my last meal in Sandy to be awesome, and thanks to yelp, I found my favorite restaurant on my one week work trip. At 6pm, I made a reservation for 3 people via the open table app linked to my yelp app, and by 6:30pm we were seated in their outside patio area. Very charming. Our waitress, Jen, gave us a few minutes to look at the wine menu, so I got a glass of Malbec, my one co-worker got a Pinot Noir, and the other got the Pinot Grigio. Although we wanted to order a starter, yelp reviewers mentioned that you get an excellent salad along with your meal, so we passed up on this scallop dish that looked so delicious from the other diner's table. A few minutes later, we got what looked like a simple salad, but man, was I wrong. The salad was perfectly dressed in a lemon vinaigrette and had sugared pecans, grated cheese, and roasted tomatoes. So simple that I finished it immediately. And then an amuse bouche of raspberry sorbet arrived. What what? This palette cleanser was perfect before my ahi tuna entree. This place kept surprising the beejesus out of me, and I was already in love! And finally, the ahi tuna. First, the tuna was crusted in black and white sesame seeds and seared rare to perfection. It was well seasoned, not too salty or too peppery, and sitting on top of candied spaghetti squash. Second, it came with a side of pineapple fried rice, spears of asparagus, red beets, and topped with candied carrots. Third, this was my perfect ahi tuna meal that I ate it so slowly so that I can enjoy it even longer. My two dining companions had the seared salmon and since they cleaned their plate as well, I had assumed that they loved their dish, too. Why is this place 5 stars? Well, it's a fancy place but their price was reasonable, $33 for a salad, amuse bouche, and entree. Most of their wines were about $10 or less per glass. They had the best herbed butter with honey, balsamic vinaigrette, roasted peppers, and spices that was so good that I attempted to take a pint home but forgot to check in my baggage at SLC, so TSA confiscated my fancy butter at airport security. Finally, their customer service was fantastic, actually Jen was fantastic. Sandy, Utah, check this place out! You have a hidden gem. I will definitely return if I have another work trip planned.

Went here the day before valentines day. I got the day wrong. Food was fine. Menu pretty boring. Not a bad place, but i think they could get a bit more expiremental with the dishes.

I LOVE Tiburon. My wife and I make it a point to dine here at least every other month. The best part about this wonderful establishment is that it is very consistent. They have a good mix of house cocktails and some nice wines. The Pork Belly is a must try dish, the creamy Brie is perfect with the crispy Pork Belly. We have had the Diver Scallops as well, and having never been a fan of Scallops, I have to tell you that these are amazing. Cooked perfectly and the creamy tomato sauce they are placed on is delicious. The Elk Tenderloin is hands down my current favorite dish in Utah. Eat here now.

I went here for a business meeting. The lemonade infused with lime was no good. The lamb and elk plates got mixed up. The chef put the peppercorn elk sauce on my lamb and a business partner was served the elk with my blueberry reduction. No wonder why the flavors were not completely jiving. That said the meat was fantastic! Our waiter must have been busy because we didn't see him a lot. After our meal was taken by the food runners he came to see how everything was, when we told him the elk had the blueberry reduction on it he just said it didn't. we must be wrong. hmm. BUT I'd have to say the Creme Brulee was Exceptional! We had a great time, great atmosphere and we didn't feel rushed. I'd recommend it. Unfortunately the lemonade was a downer and the sauces got mixed up. Had the sauces made it to the right place I'd of given it 5 stars for food and 4 stars for service.

YUM! What a great dining experience in Sandy, Utah! I had the New Zealand Elk served with a creamy mushroom "Duxelle" green peppercorn demi-glace, blueberry reduction & a parmesan and parsley risotto cake and spaghetti squash. The elk was char-grilled and cooked perfectly medium rare and flavorful. The ingredients were fresh, colorful, and presented beautifully. Prices were to be expected for exotic choices. Portions were reasonable-not too large and not too small. We had a party of 9-so, I was able to view a variety. The gentleman directly across from me had the braised lamb tenderloin, the gentleman on my left had the catch of the day with crab salad, a couple of others had the Kobe eye of ribeye, and one had the braised chicken. Everyone was happy with their meals. The décor is elegantly rustic as the stone building housed a fruit stand. We sat on the patio-it was comfortable and inviting despite the hot day. Tables were covered with white cloths and candles. The service was top-notch as the server introduced the menu, provided recommendations, and was expedient. If in Utah-I would come back again!

Just celebrated universary at Tiburon. Food was 5 star, service 5 star, enclosed patio in 90+ degree heat 1 star..... Hey Tiburon, when you charge $40 for an entree go to Costco and buy a couple of oscillating fans!

What a great restaurant! I was pleasantly surprised. Was in Utah for business and I took my coworker out to dinner for her birthday . We were craving steak so I did a Yelp search and found Tiburon. I started off with the little pink panties martini. My coworker got a Bombay Sapphire dirty martini. For appetizer we shared the Kurobata pork belly with brie cheese. I got their famous Elk tenderloin and it was lean and tender. My coworker got the beef Wellington. I will come here again for my next Utah trip. It was a great experience.

This is one of my favorite American restaurant. My favorite appetizer is the Kurabota Pork with Brie ... it is literally melting in your mouth. Their salad is very fresh with a mix of fruit and walnut (yummy). Prior to the main dish, they would provide a nice "home-made" fruit sorbet... it cleansed your mouth. My favorite main dish has been "Ahi Tuna"... they are always seared perfectly with a super tasty "pineapple" fried rice, yummy !

beautiful setting, we sat outside. I had the pork appetizer, it came with a Brie and was the chef's favorite. It was delicious, had a fat on it that was excessive. The service was fantastic. My husband had the elk and the sauces and potatoes that came with that wonderful

My boyfriend & I were looking for a great experience with amazing food. We found it. Our server, Crystal, was friendly & inviting. We had a rockin' house salad. He, the lamb & I had the duck. (Off menu) freaking awesome! Really cool to see the look of satisfaction on my boyfriends face when he closed his eye to savor the dish. Both of us are chefs; & we truly appreciate all the work put into the design & dish with each flavor complimenting each other so beautifully. We will definitely be back again. Thank you so much!

Not impressed at all. This was the worst service I have ever had at an upscale establishment. Don't bother making reservations for a party because they will just double book if a larger group wants the same time and will not let you know. Food is average and over priced.

The decor is a bit dated but the food more than makes up for it. I had the venison steak with the creme brulee for dessert and it was one of the best dinners I've ever had. Everything was absolutely delicious!

This place is definitely a must try if you are in this part of town. Outside seating available, the service is excellent ( and I'm a tough grader). The bread with the home made butter mix is really really good, they even gave me the recipe! Pallet prep before the meal was a plus. I had the New Zealand lamb and it was awesome !!!!! What a great meal and service.

We were seated in the enclosed patio and it was definitely on the cold side. The heater did not keep any of us warm enough. One of the diners kept her winter coat on through the entire meal. Our food was served cool barley warm when it was finely served to us. It took us over an hour to receive our main course and the restaurant was not the busy. We have dined here several times before and a great experience and tastey dinner. I think our waiter basically forgot about us. My daughter order lamb. It was not only luke warm but it was cooked medium well and she ordered it medium rare. Waiter rarely checked on us or filled our water glasses. For the prices we paid we won't be back to give it another try. Haven't had worse service anywhere. Food was also weak. The only thing we enjoyed was the pork appetizer. Wished the rest of the meal was as good.

I've been hearing about Tiburon for years but somehow never made it in. I finally got the chance when some of my work vendors came into town. They live in San Francisco and Boston and a coworker brought them here awhile back and they've been dreaming about it ever since...specifically the elk. We had a big group, about 12 of us and the service was great. Our server was on the ball and friendly but let's talk food. We were served some bread (generic but good) and some incredible butter. I have no idea what is in the butter but it was tasty. The table decided to get a few appetizers to share: the scallops and the chicken over polenta. Both were excellent. Yes, I'm stupidly obsessed with scallops and they were done well. Most of our table ordered the elk of course and they did not steer me wrong. It was cooked exactly as I ordered, perfectly pink and full of flavor. The side of mashed potatoes was pretty standard but they have seasonal vegetables that they get from their beautiful garden out back. That night, we got spaghetti squash and it was magic. A tad sweeter than I would have preferred but so good. I forgot to mention the salad and sorbet. The salad was pretty simple but I enjoyed the candied pecans and roasted tomato. The sorbet is also seasonal I believe and we had watermelon and cantaloupe. A little bit on the sweeter side but delightful enough that one of my vendors ordered it again for his dessert. We tried the whiskey vanilla crème brûlée hoping that there would be a strong whiskey flavor. I was a little disappointed as it tasted like a standard crème brûlée. Don't get me wrong, it was good; just not the stronger flavors I was hoping for. All in all, it was a fantastic meal. Tiburon is a little pricier than I'd like to spend on a regular basis but it's nice for a splurge.

5 stars for ambience, service, wine list, watermelon sorbet and salad. But our main dishes just weren't that good. We got the beef tenderloin and Kobe steak. They both had the same exact side dishes which were seemingly steamed carrot (one large one) and asparagus. No sauce on top or seasonings so it was bland, and mashed potatoes that were just eh. There was also a mash of spaghetti squash that was probably the best thing on the plate. My meat (beef) was in a red wine reduction. It had some fancy mushrooms on top. It was edible, and the meat was tender, but seriously needed some salt (which is not on the table, however I expect that at a place like this). My Hubby's steak was similar. Under salted sauce, and mushrooms on top. Unlike mine the mushrooms were not in the sauce, they were actually on top, then the meat, sauce on bottom. The mushrooms didn't seem to be sauteed in anything, so they tasted pretty hardcore mushroomy. I love mushrooms but I like then in sauce or sauteed in something yummy. With my glass of wine, our bill was $95 before a tip. If I went back, which I probably would because the ambience was really nice, we would try the elk which seems popular. I'm just not sure I want to spend another 100+ to give it another chance.

I have no idea why this place is popular or why it has so many stars. I visited this place on a trip to salt lake with my mom. I wanted something special that would knock of our socks to treat my mom to a nice night out. I felt really awful afterwards since it well.. sucked, and I picked it out from yelp. Weird dated ambiance, cheap ugly table cloths maybe fancy 20 years ago. Strange service, ok'ish food, ridiculous prices. At arriving for our reservation our first impression was strange set up, way too warm inside and i'm usually the one who's cold, and the host took forever to figure out what they doing, or maybe what planet they were on? Finally seated, in a very tiny table squished up against an ugly wall with the view of the bath room in the not so full dining room. Ok? So i'm thinking obviously this place is known for its food right. Look at the menu, very mediocre similar to a run of the mill catering company with your choices being chicken, steak, ahi, or salmon. whoopty doo. All being over $35 per dish. I have no problem paying whatever as long as it is good, but really? I was all ready skeptical given our introduction and first impressions. So we order the crab cakes and two salmon dishes. Side salad was good, bread was good, nothing that couldn't be recreated at home or any restaurant. Crab cakes were some of the worst I have ever had. Salty, weird texture, tasted like over cooked dried out canned crab with the texture of deviled ham...yup. My sweet mom tried to eat it, and pretended to like it, but there is no disguising the level of bad food. The salmon was good I guess. It was salmon with mash, thats it folks. Presentation was better than the dish its self. Iv'e had a million times better dishes at cheese cake factory, and that's not saying much. I guess if you're looking for a nice place to take your date to the prom this is a great choice. But for me this is one of those experiences like a bad movie, you wish you could rewind time and get your money back.

Black tables cloths, clean silverware, nicely polished glasses and a small candle for ambience. So far, so good. I was seated in a corner of the converted/enclosed patio in the back, which was warmed by space heaters. The back of my body got a bit cold, and when I mentioned it, the server immediately moved one of the space heaters towards me. Very nice. The dim lighting was what you would expect of a fine dining restaurant. My server was very nice, but kept her distance. Wish all women were like that. ;) JOKING. But she was professional and didn't get in the way. The food...oh, the food. I wish I could say it was amazing, but sweet/sour/salty ratios were just a bit off. Not off enough to complain, but enough to say, "yeah, it was A-OK." My starter was the kurobuta belly with brie and balsamic onion jam. If they could have backed off of the vinegar a bit (or more), this dish would have been well balanced. I enjoyed the salad with candied pecans, roasted tomato, mixed greens, and some other things I can't remember. A bit over dressed, but...ok. Enjoyed the palate cleansing sorbets (lime, raspberry). I had the pan seared Morgan Valley lamb tenderloin, "dusted with fresh rosemary & black pepper, served with a whole grain mustard Demi-glace, blueberry reduction & a parmesan and parsley risotto cake." There's a lot going on here, ending up in too much going on... here. A lot of flavor, bordering on too many flavors, if that makes sense. And dressing the rim of the plate with parsley was the nail in the 'fine dining' coffin. Not needed and a bit outdated. Verdict? Like every restaurant, there's room for improvement. And by improvement, I mean simplify.

Food is always good, as are the drinks. But ever go somewhere enough that you start to see the silly mistakes that shouldn't be happening for a restaurant of this level? That's what happened to me my last visit. Our server was pre and post occupied with a Christmas party she clearly had to assist. This made for a slow and less attentive experience. I know, not the end of the world. And I'm looking for a new dessert on the menu I think. Same usual desserts.

My hubby and I moved here from coastal Virginia about a year ago, and we finally got around to trying to find a nice place to have a romantic meal-- and Tiburon hits the spot! First, the bread: delicious, but I'm a weirdo and probably would have preferred normal butter instead of the garlic spread that came with it. (My unrefind palette strikes again!) We had a pork belly appetizer that I wasn't a fan of (not a fan of fatty meats in general) but my husband almost needed a smoke break after eating it. The salad, as seems universally agreed on, was amazing, and it was followed by a pineapple/orange sorbet that was awesome. Then, dinner; for hubby, a beef wellington that was mega tender, though he ended up pulling it out of the pastry so he could scrape off the mushroom gravy-stuff that was in there with it. For me, the salmon, and oh man-- it's the best salmon I've had in Utah. I had nearly given up on finding a decent piece of fish here in my new land-locked home, but Tiburon pulled through. Delicious, and finally, not rubbery. The waitress was great, and met our every request efficiently and with a smile. The decor-- we were out on the patio, and yeah, our chair rocked a smidge... I've always liked chairs that rock a little, though, but I like to fidget. It seems like it's a house that was converted into a restaurant, so the decor went accordingly. I thought it was charming. My only complaint? It was a bit chilly, but the patio doors were open and the night was brisk.

We went for our anniversary and the food was amazing. Made reservations so we were seated right away. The table was set for 2 facing outward to the dining room, which was nice (good people watching since it was Prom). Meals run from $30-$40 per plate but this includes bread, salad, sorbet and your entree comes with at least 2 small sides. Crab cakes were great. I had the Beef Wellington and my husband had the Elk. Both were so good and we ate every bite. I could tell nothing sat under a lamp, both cooked perfectly. We did not feel rushed at all and everyone around us seemed to also be enjoying themselves. Server was very good. Will definitely go back for another special occasion.

WOW. Just wow. Four of us from work dined here for the first time last week. I can see why it gets a super high Zagat rating. The lamb tenderloin with a mustard sauce and blueberry reduction was just phenomenal. I tasted a bite of the elk as well. Outstanding flavor everywhere, all over the plate: sauces, risotto cakes, just EVERYTHING! At high 30s and low 40s per entree you get a meal. It was served with a fantastically tasty salad as a first course that featured fruit and candied nuts and a cleanse the palate sorbet after that course. The wine list was well priced and easy to navigate. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Nothing stands out in terms of the venue or atmosphere but it worked!

It's more like a 3.5-3.75. It really depends on your taste buds. Emmm....the whipped honey butter w shallots and bell pepper is creamy w a tint of sweetness and flavor is yummy. The kubuta pork super soft and tender. Mild not too bold in flavors. The brie adds a lil creaminess to each bite and the carmelized onion adds to its flavor. I don't eat a lot of salads so I can't comment much on that. I usually believe salad is a waste of stomach space that's a filler and takes up space in your stomach for the main course. I did eat a third of the salad though. It was good. I liked the fruit and candy pecans on it. The vinigrette wasn't over baring or anything. I always thought sorbet was for dessert, but it's to cleanse the palette. The lemon/lime is a wake up. I'm not a fan of sour really, but it was refreshing. The berry sorbet helped take away the sourness since it was sweeter, so a lil sweet and sour makes a perfect combo. the elk is a lil smelly. that's just my opinion, though. It has that gamey smell, but it is super tender. Service is great. The waitress checked up on me very often and was very nice. She even offered to get me something else. All in all I would recommend coming here. I prob get the beef tenderloin next time if im in town.

Elk was too mild, almost like beef. Food could have been hotter, almost like it was sitting on the warmer too long. Fish only so so.

This was actually a really nice spot to grab a bite to eat. A little pricey but you get several courses so it wasn't too bad. They always have specials where you buy a full prices entrees and get the 2nd for 1/2 off.

Service was great. Our waiter, Tom, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We were seated in the back in some sort of converted porch. I was surprised that it was plenty warm. We ordered the Pork Belly. It was so wonderful with the onion chutney and brie. I am normally not a fan of brie but with this, it was great. I see pork belly on cooking shows all the time but I have never had it before. So ... while not an expert by any means, I can tell you it was yummo. The scallops were good as well but slightly underdone for me. I've had them at the Wild Rose before and they were fantastic so I am guessing this was a fluke. I has a special swordfish with lemon burre blanc (sp?) sauce. It was very tasty and cooked well. Husband had the elk. Neither of us had had that before but it was also good and very tender. The mushroom sauce that came with it was good as well. The only negative was that, as with the Wild Rose, they serve the same ol' veggies with every entree. They are good but it's always the same. They should change it up a bit. Not a cheap dinner but not crazy - at least not to us. We had 2 drinks 2 appetizers & 2 entrees for $134. We will go back and this time, save room for dessert.

A friend and I have birthdays that are a day apart, and this year we decided to combine our birthday celebrations into one awesome dinner. I had chosen a restaurant pretty near by house for the festivities, but the number of people attending quickly ballooned into a number the other restaurant wouldn't be able to accommodate. So there I was, scouring Opentable for a place that could fit a group of 10 in on a Saturday night when I saw Tiburon on the list. Yes, Tiburon. The restaurant with the same name as the model of my boyfriend's car. Yes, it was ALLLLLL the way down in Sandy (Yes, I know I'm spoiled) but Sandy is, as we all know, the best suburb in "Southern Utah," and I'd been intrigued by this restaurant for some time. So I made the reservation and killed two birds with one stone. When making reservations, I always have this fear that they're somehow going to get lost, especially when I do it on Opentable and don't talk to anybody (though I should trust the computers more). But lo and behold, we arrived at 7pm and our table was ready and waiting for us. Always a relief. We all perused the tasty looking menu and wine list. Some chose reds, some chose whites, some chose beers, and some chose to drink Manhattans. All were extremely tasty. Then came the appetizers: perfectly seared scallops, wonderfully tender pork belly, and, of course, the tasty bread and that addictive spread. I must say that the appetizers were the highlight of the evening, and outshined even our main courses. After the meal, we decided we should go back sometime and order just appetizers. After the appetizers came the salads: mixed greens, pecans, tomatoes, cheese, and a very nice dressing to bring it all together. This was quality stuff. The sorbet that came after, however, was not to my liking. Then again, I seem to be more sensitive to sour foods than most people and so the lemon flavor kind of overwhelmed me. Most everyone else seemed to dig it just fine, though, so it was probably just me. Now for the main courses, which I kind of poo-pooed in my description of the appetizers above. Don't get me wrong here, every entree was delicious. My lamb was perfectly cooked, wonderfully tender, and the risotto cake and green beans were quite complimentary. I also tasted the house special elk, which was also wonderful, and I was a little too amused by the mashed-potatoes-out-of-the-cake-decorator-thingy presentation. I have no complaints about the main courses except that while the appetizers seemed fresh and adventurous, the main courses were more tried and true, without that sense of adventure. I like that sense of adventure. The service was excellent. Our server John was top notch, friendly, polite, and eager to answer our questions. Prices were definitely on the high side for what you get, but I believe it was worth it for a great birthday experience. It will, however, limit my ability to come here regularly. Nice job, Tiburon.

I don't usually like American food and rarely give more than 4 stars. But this place provided a great dinning experience both in taste and service. Inside the dinning area, It was a bit dark; great for couples on a date. Outside dinning was a lil bit bugsome with minimal mounts of bugs thats inevitable. The salad was fresh and had a lil bit of everything. And the dressing was evenly spread. The main course I had was the elk steak. It tasted kinda like beef with a softer texture. The whole was tasty and I was truly impressed. Wish I had more room for dessert. Maybe next time!

PRESENTATION: The place is a very nice romantic place. TASTE: We started off with the crab cakes and they were delicious, it just didn't come with a crab cake. It also comes with a little greek salad almost. Then we got the kobe beef for the entree and was okay nothing to great. I wouldn't choose this place as the first most romantic place to come eat. The sorbet seemed like it was made from scratch. But it was decent. SERVICE: The service was horrible. Don't get me wrong the lady was nice that was our server. But she like disappeared the whole entire time. She brought out our sorbet and I didnt know why we had it before our entree we were so confused. VALUE: Groupon helped us on this part. But in the end the price is over the top.

What a great place to enjoy a calm and relaxing evening. Delicious food, excellent service, a warm atmosphere....and inexpensive wine! For the appetizer, we ordered the Kurabuto Pork which is supposed to be like the kobe beef of pork. As you eat it (slowly), you can appreciate all the textures of the it - crispy outside, tender meat on the inside, and melt-in-your-mouth fat. I would liken it to a crispy pork belly. The pork comes with three generous pieces of St. Andre cheese which is like a more intense, buttery brie. YUM! Pair the cheese with the balsamic onions and you'll have a nice party in your mouth. I ordered the lamb, which was cooked perfectly. The ultimate test of a good restaurant is how good their sauces are...and Tiburon did not fail me. The sauce was so good that I even asked our waitress what was in it so I could try and recreate it. The website says whole grain mustard, demi-glaze, blueberry reduction....but she said there was also cream and brandy. HmMm...must be the brandy. =) Pair it with a good spicy wine and it's like an explosion in your mouth. When I was done with all the meat, I took the complimentary bread and sopped up the remaining sauce until I ran out of bread. Yes, it was that good. The elk is their house specialty. With dishes like elk, less is more - a little salt and pepper seasoning is enough for me. I had a few bites from the bf's plate and the meat was cooked well and still had a game-y taste to it (which I love!). All entrees come with a house salad (ingredients and dressing may change each night) and two mellon ball size scoops of sorbet to cleanse your palate before the entrée. For our choice of libation, we ordered the 2006 Gabbiano Chianti and it was only $26. I looked it up later online and it's roughly $23. Are you kidding me? A $3 mark-up? I have never ever seen that in my life. SLC-ers are so lucky! Can anyone explain why it's so much cheaper to buy a bottle of wine at a restaurant in SLC than in say...Houston? Ours usually have a 2-3x markup. We had a wonderful night here. A top pick amongst SLC restaurants!

I've never had a disappointing meal at Tiburon. Consistently great food. Masterful sauces. Great staff. They manage to make a special occasion more memorable. It's got a lovely atmosphere and I highly recommend this restaurant. The meals are pricey but you can't blame them. The facade is unassuming but I guarantee you'll love what's under that roof!

Years and years of driving by this place before i finally made it. The exterior looks kind of dodgy, and does not give the expected first impression of a restaurant with "fine dining" in it's name. Frankly, the interior wasn't that impressive either. I guess it could be considered cozy and warm by an optimist, or dated and worn by a pessimist. We had the Jake's Mussels appetizer. I had the Chicken and Polenta and the Blonde had the New Zealand Elk, apparently their signature dish. We shared a Creme Brulee for dessert. The food was all very good. They've practiced this menu for over a decade, so I would expect as much. I uploaded pictures of all our dishes. Witness the pleasing presentation. Service was serviceable, the price was just barely acceptable, and I left feeling mostly satisfied. Tiburon may indeed qualify as fine dining, but not as a five star experience.

This is our most favorite restaurant on the face of the earth! everything is always delicious and the service always amazing. We always get the same thing chicken and polenta to start, and then the Elk and the Beef Tenderloin. always amazing!

Not too bad but to be fair we came here the night after eating at Forage (one of the best restaurants I've been to) so that may skew my perspective a little. Service was lovely. Salad was REALLY good. Entrée (tenderloin) was just ok - it was cooked nicely but really over-seasoned: the sauce overwhelmed the flavor of everything else. It was just too much. Again, I ate at Forage the night before where taste is subtle and surprising; here the flavors are very in your face. I sampled my friend's lamb and all I could taste was cracked black pepper. So...not awful, not great although I'll be happy to go back again and try something else.

We loved our meal. For special occasions, since it is a bit expensive, I had filet of beef, $36, excellent, with great wine reduction sauce. Wife had lamb, very good, $35. Entrees include bread basket and salad enhanced with roasted walnuts prepared with maple syrup. They honored me with a complimentary creme brulee for my birthday. Service was attentive, waitress knowledgeable. Butter served was enhanced with roasted garlic, shallots, very tasty. Tables are not too close, chairs comfortable if not special. Glass of 3 Bears cabernet was drinkable... Ambiance could use some upscale enhancement.

Tiburon is such an amazing little hidden gem! I've had this restaurant on my to-do list for slc restaurants for a while, and I'm so glad I finally went. We ordered the New Zealand Elk, which was sooo amazing, down to every last detail. It came with a salad, and sorbet before the main dish to cleanse your palate- all right! My husband and I shared the one order, and they didn't charge us extra as most restaurants do when you share an order! And it was a good thing we shared because it was very filling! We also ordered the cheesecake for dessert which was good, but not stellar. But we'll definitely be going back again for that elk!

Amazing! So amazing I am writing a review for the first time of my life. We had the seabass and lamb with the whiskey custard for dessert. Perfection! Even the salad was incredible with sweet honey walnuts! Very private quiet atmosphere where my date and I could hear each other while we chatted. Bill was $120 and worth it! Enjoy!

Well, I'm glad I experienced this place, because every time I drive by it I think "that is supposed to be a fancy restaurant?!" It's a little nicer inside than on the outside, but not by much. It's very dark and when we were there, moths were flying all around us. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. No complaints on the waitstaff. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered the crab cakes, which were pretty good. The salad thing that came with it was gross. The house salad with candied walnuts, apples and a tomato basil vinagrette, was the highlight of the meal. I have never enjoyed a salad so much and normally I HATE vinegar flavor, so way to make it delicious, Tiburon! Husband ordered the elk. It was very tough and VERY gamey. The duxelle sauce was good, but not great. The potatoes were okay. I ordered the lamb. It was not good. It was overly seasoned and had a very odd rosemary flavor, like if rosemary had gone bad. The blueberry sauce was gross and it was very over-sauced. It came with a Parmesan risotto cake which was fine. We didn't order desert. I had a Diet Coke and Husband had a water. Our bill came to $118. For a mediocre meal with small portions, I thought that was ridiculous. I'd rather go order $118 worth of chicken nuggets than eat here again. Luckily, we had a gift card for $40, so our real total was less. But I still thought it was insane. I'm glad to have tried it but I will not be back.

Service: Impeccable Presentation: Outstanding Food: Sauces, diversity of tastes and textures, perfectly cooked meat, all contributed to a delightful and delicious meal. We had the lamb and fillet special. Price: Not inexpensive - that's what's meant by "Fine" - but worth it, IMHO, for that special night out. The only negative - they were out of Perrier on a snowy, slow night. Kudos to Tiburon!

So, first things first, the food is definitely delicious. Between several visits, the hubby and I have probably tried most things on the menu, and we always lick our plates clean. With that said, we have been here several times and nothing ever changes. The salad that comes with meal is exactly the same. And, sure, there are evening specials, but the menu doesn't change with the seasons. Also, the sides with the main courses are more or less the same for each entree whether you order salmon or elk. Those proteins are pretty different in my mind and should be served with different sides. Overall, my complaints are relatively minor. Like I said, the food is yummy, and the sameness has yet to stop us from going back.

We came here for dinner after purchasing a groupon. I got the vegetarian plate, boyfriend got the ahi tuna. The service was awesome, the ambiance romantic, but the food was pretty one note. Everything was just a bit too sweet for us. Probably not worth paying full price, but I would come here again if there was a similar deal going on.

Celebrated my wife's 40th birthday along with my family and we were blown away by the quality of their food. Started with their homemade bread and spread. The butter had a hint of balsamic and fruit flavor, I was craving for more. Their salad is so fresh with the sweet tomato and candied pecans. I ordered the New Zealand Elk, it was surprisingly good. My wife had the ribeye (16 oz), probably the one of the best I've ever tasted. My daughter had the ahi tuna with the pineapple fried rice...simply amazing! Overall great dining experience. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star was because it was extremely hot that night and we were in a big party so they had to put us in the back where the a/c was not existent and their were no windows to open and feel the cool early evening breeze.

Nice setting and the food was good but I think it is a bit overpriced. Beautifully presented but my entree was cold. The house salad was very good and I really liked the bread and herbed butter, and the pineapple sorbet between courses was a nice touch.

Best restaurant ever! Hands down it is dining at its finest with the world's greatest chef preparing the Most complimentary and delicious foods. My son and I were visiting from Oregon and took my parents there. They still rave about how wonderful it was and I tell all business colleagues I meet to stop there when in SLC. Highly recommend. Staff was amazing, and the food is simply out of this world. I have dinedin numerous countries and 42 states. Tiberon is my favorite . Found it on Yelp and so glad we tried it! Enjoy! :)

It seems that almost every meal here comes drenched in some kind of overwhelming sauce. I guess the ingredients aren't good enough to stand on their own, even though they seemed quality-enough to me. Reminds me of the Market Street of American dining. Too much sauce on everything! My advice to them, sometimes less is more.

Tiburon is one of those places that I never expected I'd find in Utah. From the street it looks like a little dive and for years I wondered "how does that place survive?!" But after visiting I realized what I had been missing all those years... 5-star cuisine, a classy upscale atmosphere, ambiance, and NO KIDS! (not sure if they don't allow kids, but I didn't see any when I was there, which is unusual for Utah). The meal was fresh, cooked to order not some microwaved plate, with vegetables grown in their own garden. The flavors, the plating, the creativity... it was all there. Best restaurant meal I've ever had; however, most expensive meal I've ever had. Most of the menu is in the $30-$50 range. Of course, that's normal for what Tiburon is offering... but it's a place I would only be able to go for very special occasions. If you have an anniversary, birthday, or just a basic date then I highly recommend Tiburon as a means to impress and make it that much more special.

Another excellent dining experience, we were barely here again for our anniversary. The restaurant ambience is as calm and relaxing as it was before, quite excellent for any sort of dates and special occasions. The menu is simple as usual with slight modification on a few entrees, and it's still only one page in it. We ordered the Seared Scallops for starter, my wife had the special duck dish, and I had the ahi tuna dish. All of them were very delicious. The scallops tasted just right, none of the cold center or rubbery chewing like I had in other places before. The duck came as a fairly big portion and the veggie on the side matched fairly well with the duck taste overall. The ahi was cooked perfectly with a great balance between the cook and rare parts, and they choose pineapple rice for the side dish, it was a good match with the veggie, but I felt it wasn't as great as the duck dish. The service was excellent as always, there was never a time where we felt our need was not addressed, and I think we had the same waiter who served us last year. I am definitely recommending this place again for any dating, special occasion, or celebrations.

My husband and I love this place. The service is impeccable. They don't have a lot of choice on the menu, but what they do, they do very well. I almost always get the lamb. The sauce is delicious and everything on the plate adds to the deliciousness. They have a good salad that comes with all entrees as well as the best butter (to heap on the good bread) on the planet. We like to go here about 3-4 times a year for a more romantic date or special occasion.

  • Douglas S.

We went here with another couple mostly because of A good experience at its sister restaurant Wild Rose. The menu was comparable to many other "fine dining" places in Utah, but you don't really expect what you might on the east or west coast for the same type of place. The appetizers are fine but not prepared perfectly. The salads were great and the palate cleanser was nice. The entrees are large and HEAVILY sauced. The sauces are great but the amount doesn't make sense, especially on good cuts of meat. My ribeye was tender but taking a big bite of fat that could not be distinguished from meat is no good. The desserts are fine but probably not worth the cash.

Our meal was prepared well enough. The service & operations seem to run well. The menu & atmosphere felt very 90's, but I suppose that works for some people. Everything I ate was fine, but forgettable.

Our go to place for special occasions. Right at the top of places to eat. Not cheap but worth it. Only place i've ever eaten foie gras (unbelievably good) but sad to say not always on the menu. Pricey so use for the best occasions only.

  • Alan M.

The food is generally good, if straightforward. On the other hand, corner-cutting (you call this a "fine dining" salad?) and carelessness (can't you cook vegetables properly?) in some of the food preparation brings it down. And while I'm not usually one to dwell on ambiance, the rustic interior and the trashy location don't add much to the experience.

Tiburon was really a great night out. My boyfriend took my there for a romantic dinner the night before Valentines day, and we were so well looked after. The staff were so attentive and friendly and the entire ambiance of the place was romantic. Low lighting, intimate sitting. Really lovely. And the food was great! The starter bread came with a beautiful butter that they make there that had a few different yummy ingredients in it, I'm not sure exactly what! I ordered the New Zealand lamb, and being from Australia and being used to ours and New Zealand's lamb I had high expectations and they were totally met. It was fantastic! My boyfriend ordered the Elk, which I tried and loved. We were both really happy with the entire night. Perfect date night out :)

Best meal I had in Salt Lake City. Being from the east coast, I thought this was a great deal. I ordered the KOBE steak, which is Waygu by the way. Every detail from this small restaurant was perfect. From the magnificent salad to the Waygu Ribeye, nothing was overlooked. I highly recommend it.

If you live in the Salt Lake City suburbs it is hard to find really good non-chain restaurants. Tiburon is one of my favorite. Although it is pricier than its counterparts, Wild Rose and Epic, it is worth it. The staff is friendly and attentive. The filet mignon is delectable. The wine selection is great; however, you can take your own wine for a small corkage fee, which is truly the way to go. The desserts are always delicious and always changing.

Wow! Excellent!! Their house specialty is the Rocky Mountain Elk and it is absolutely fantastic. They have a very good wine list and the garden-fresh veggies are amazing. In the summertime you can dine on the patio, which is very tranquil and very comfortable. The chef at Tiburon mixes sweet, savory and unique flavors perfectly. It's a rare treat to find a restaurant that takes risks and plates unique and exciting flavors!

1 star for our server and 1 star for the bread and butter. I have to agree with Drew D. Not sure what they are trying to be...the sign says fine dining, perhaps to justify their price points. The dishes are completely overpriced for a less than pedestrian meal. I have been looking forward to trying Tiburon for awhile, so my dining companions and I ventured over to Sandy. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. As mentioned, the bread and butter are quality. The menu is not overdone, which I appreciate, and the entrees sounded lovely. While I was anticipating the typical starch(garlic mash) and 3 asparagus spear accompaniments, the meat and fish preparations seemed like they would be right on. We had the halibut, tenderloin of beef, and crab cakes. The halibut appeared to be poached, a preparation I like. However, it lacked seasoning and was joined by an undercooked beet, carrot and the aforementioned, asparagus. The beef was ordered medium and arrived to the table well-done. Our server was more than happy to order up a new one cooked correctly. Perfect. As we waited, we observed the plate. This dish was drowning in a very rich mushroom, wine sauce. I enjoyed the first few tastes but it became overpowering on the palate. The mushroom sauce was definitely not lacking in the fungi department. The steak was covered in them to perhaps enhance the size of the very petite cut. The sides on this dish...yup, you guessed it. And to make matters worse, the new steak still had temperature problems. It was rare. I don't mind rare, but it was not how we ordered it. Finally, the crab cakes could be summed in with a few words...mushy, bread crumb, cakes. I want to be fair. This could be an off night. I have heard good things, perhaps management has changed? Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be returning.

This meal was delicious! I ordered lamb and to be honest, don't remember what the BF ordered, I was too into my meal. The risotto cake (side) however stole the show. We both loved it and wished there were more or offered it as an app. The lamb was tender and well seasoned and our wine was also delicious.

I generally round up for Utah places just because i don't think it's fair to judge them relative to other parts of the world but when a place boasts fine dining they do it to themselves. I had the elk, it was fine. Nothing great. It was over seasoned but gamey meat usually is, appetizers are expensive and I have had better for much less. Ambiance usually isn't something i care too much about but the whole fine dining thing and its location plus the outside of the building. It looks more like a strip club. From the outside. Inside is fine. You can argue that the inside is what matters but I don't like driving to this place, I just felt off walking in. Service was fine. Our server didn't know anything about wine, which was expected but still a let down. Again, i. Think overall if had no expectations this would have gotten a 4 but fine dining..... Hmmmm

We ate at the Tiburon one night as a splurge soon after being married. The food was very delicious. Every bite (no matter what I was eating) was packed with flavor. We sat outside on the patio on a perfect June night. I recommend everyone give it a try at least once. Where else are you going to get gourmet elk meat?

#1, The Best, King of the Hill, whatever you want to call it. This is truly the best place I've ever eaten in my life. I always start to second guess that claim until I go there again, the food is so good that when you eat it it's hard not to lose the food as your jaw drops to the table in amazement. I know a bit about cooking and how to make food taste good but there is something that the chef does that just brings out so much more flavor than you thought was possible in food. Now I know it sounds like I'm over hyping this but you're only thinking that if you haven't been here. Tiburon is a small place, there isn't alot of seating, and diners aren't rushed, as such only so many people can eat every night. This isn't like your local Denny's where they can just pull a few more steaks out of the freezer and microwave them when a wave of people show up. Tiburon is one of those places where you know that they only plan for a small number of dishes per night and they put EVERYTHING into making those dishes perfect. In other words make reservations days in advance. You may get in the day of, but the place can book full up to a week in advance. The ambiance is dim and subdued, candle lit tables, and quiet dinner conversation going on. It's not a place you come in sweats with your football buddies after the game to argue about what team was better. Get dressed up in your nicer clothes, and go out to enjoy a dining experience. As I mentioned the food is amazing. I'd advise starting with the Crab Cakes for an appetizer; they have just the right amount of golden crunchy exterior while remaining delicate and light inside. Although last time I was there I tried the Braised Kurabuto Pork and it was quite good, the balsamic onion jam gave a good flavor when combined with the pork and triple crème Brie. The salads are excellent, while I love a good chef salad and shy away from the more fanciful creations, the complimentary salad at Tiburon is one of the best, a mixture of sweet and salty flavors it's really something in itself. After going there for Christmas a few years ago my mother was so inspired she did her best to emulate the salad at home (and did quite well). The all time favorite for everybody I know who's been there is the Rocky Mountain Elk Tenderloin, it used to be the New Zealand Elk but the chef is going more local now. The meat is so tender it can be cut with a fork and the demi-glace covering it is a treat in itself. The chef is a master at delicious reductions and demi-glace to partner with the meal; you'll find yourself trying to mop up every last drop so that none goes to waste. My other favorite is the Beef Tenderloin. From the menu it's a: "Char-grilled filet mignon, served with a roasted shallot & cabernet demi-glace, with sautéed mushrooms & garlic mashed potatoes." Again the meat is the most tender cut you'll ever find, and for me nothing is more perfect that a good cut of beef served with a red wine based demi-glace and sautéed mushrooms. It's almost as if the chef created this dish for me to be my most perfect representation of a steak based meal. My other favorites are the Lamb and Ribeye. While the fish entrées, ahi-tuna and halibut, are great (savory carrot reduction butter sauce), I really think the chef shines with deep rich sauces that compliment the beef. And while this place is a bit on the pricy side (figure $50-$60 per person), it is worth the price. You just can't get food like this anywhere, places with food of this quality are few and far between. If you consider yourself a "foodie" and have not eaten here you need to make a point to go as soon as you can.

I've been to Tiburon three times now and every visit was an excellent dining experience. The food is truly excellent and on par with the best restaurants in Salt Lake City. The appetizers and salads are the perfect prelude to the colorful and flavorful entrées. Each menu choice is a great combination of flavors and garnishes with strong but not overpowering sauces. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, but quiet enough to comfortably hold a conversation. The restaurant is relatively small, so make a reservation if possible. Although being located in Sandy prevents it from being too crowded or popular, I would not be surprised to have to wait if I showed up without a reservation on a Friday night.

I wanted to love it, I really did. As regulars of The Wild Rosé we thought we would try out it's sister restaurant, Tiburon. We were greeted with an enchanting little cottage as the backdrop, but unfortunately we were seated on the covered back porch in January and it was freezing and very dark. The menu was definitely more rustic than the other restaurant but I chose the special of the night, which was a beef tenderloin with tiger prawns. The appetizer of braised pork was tough and hard to swallow. There was about a 20 minute gap between the appetizer and the salad course which was strange for a night that didn't seem too busy. The salad was divine and i could eat a whole meal of just that. When the entrees came (finally) my beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly but the garlic butter sauce was just overwhelming. In the end we had to rush through the end of dinner to make our movie, which started 2 hours after our reservation time. While it was decent enough I think we will stick with The Wild Rosé on the other side of the valley from now on.

i love this place. Its the best place in Salt Lake I have eaten. The food is always good. There is really no way to go wrong on what you order. Here, its all about the food. Finally, an excellent high end bistro in SLC! The ambience does leave something to be desired, but the food quality and creativity set Tiburon apart. Even the honey-garlic butter they provide for the bread is extraordinary. Best restaurant I've been to in SLC, including La Caille and Tuscany.

A not so hidden gem in Sandy. If this restaurant were downtown you would have to get a reservation months in advance. I have always had great service and excellent, creative food, but last summer I got to dine on the patio which is a definite plus in the right temperature. I will be strategizing a way to get back there in early June. Premium price for premium is great in my book.

Always great food, great service, great ambiance, good wine selection. Easily our favorite restaurant in the valley and lucky for us it's out on the South End of the valley.

This restaurant has a fancy name yet an unassuming exterior. Located on 700 E the facade has a quite dated look that is easily missed as you drive by. Most of the parking lot consists of gravel, which is not good if you want to drive a nice car to a nice restaurant. Once inside you realize that the restaurant is slightly cramped with a poorly designed floor plan. Clearly the building was used for something quite smaller than what it is now. There is a bar located to the right on the entrance but no bar stools that I could see, which is odd. There is a table that sat empty the whole time we were there. There is a large patio area in the back which looks to be heavily used during the summer months and entirely unusable during the winter months given the fact that the restaurant is in Utah. The printed menu is quite small, with only about eleven items listed. They had three specials that evening, all variations on menu items, which was not very exciting nor creative. The size of the menu is a real problem because it lacks creativity and a variety.Of the five appetizers they are almost all some form of seafood. The entrees are venison, duck, lamb, beef, and seafood. The featured item is elk. We ordered scallops as an appetizer and there were four of us at the table but the serving only had three portions. Awkward. Had I known by reading the menu, or had the server told me, I would have ordered enough for everyone. They had a nice exterior but the inside was a little under cooked and kind of squishy. Let's talk about the elk for a moment. The elk was nicely prepared and had good flavor but the portion size was small. More about that in a minute. Both the beef tenderloin and lamb were nicely prepared, but again the portion size of the beef was very small. The fish was undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen where they quickly made another one. All the entrees had good flavor and taste but they were all too small except the lamb. For the prices being spent at this place they should serve larger portions so you feel some kind of semblance of value for your purchase. The other negative was the ambiance and decor. It was a bit lacking in both taste and style. An update would help with that as well. For such an expensive restaurant this should be a obvious must have. One nice thing is they support opentable.com reservations which is quite nice and very handy. Also the service was good throughout the night with our water glasses and bread never getting low. Having made several complaints here the restaurant is not bad. The owners would do well to spend a few bucks to improve the look of the restaurant. The elk really is that special, other restaurants in Utah have better elk. The service is good, the food is indeed tasty and you will probably enjoy your experience overall.

Can't go wrong with this place. It's hidden away in the middle of nowhere (ie, in the netherworld of endless malls and fast food emporia) but don't let that distract you. The food is phenomenal, we had several appetizers which were close to perfect (crab cakes! mussels, chicken+shrooms) and the elk entree was perfectly calibrated to extract the taste of the meet and the herb dressing. I agree, this is probably one of the best restaurant in SLC.

This place is great. Casual, upscale service and the food was unbelievable. Everything we ate was cooked perfectly. I had the lamb tenderloin and have to say it was one of the best plates of lamb I have ever had.

Enjoyed our date night at Tiburon. It's a bit pricey - $31-$40 per entree, but you do get bread, salad, sorbet, and the main entree with plenty of veggies. The bread and butter were superb, the bread was nicely warm and toasted and the butter was some unique spread that had the right amount of sweetness. The salad was probably my favorite part of the meal - mixed greens with heirloom tomatoes, pepitas, some kind of crumbled cheese and apples with a tasty house dressing. Excellent watermelon sorbet, wasn't a fan of the honeydew sorbet. We got the ribeye and the halibut for dinner. Ribeye was cooked to perfection. Wine sauce and gorgonzola sauce was a good complement but a bit overpowering. Halibut was perfectly cooked as well over a plentiful serving of spinach. The veggies that came with both entrees were very tasty and nicely presented - mashed potatoes, beet, carrot, and a sweetened spaghetti squash. A very enjoyable dinner; next time we will save room for dessert!

Really do not know what some folks are talking about, but I really enjoyed my meal at this place. It met the definition of fine dining in my book. I was very impressed with the "house salad" which was adorned with candied walnuts, apples, and a just the right a dressing. I had the Elk which was delicious. I was not at all disappointed.

This is possibly THE best restaurant in the state. The food and service are both amazing. In the summer they have a garden behind the restaurant - you can't beat the fresh ingredients. The menu is an eclectic mix of cuisines. The chef knows how to mix flavors like no other. I am honestly amazed this restaurant is in Utah.

I really enjoyed this place. The setting was just right for a quiet special birthday for my sweet wife. The food was excellent and on a Wednesday, we had our own waiter with no distractions. This place is awesome and we are definitely going back.

I have been hearing about this place for a whle from friends and finally ended up going. The place is a little small and the outdoor patio is okay but its the food that is really good. It is a little expensive but very tasty. The appatizers were amazing I never had scalops as good as theirs and usually I can't stand crab cakes because they re too dry but theirs were delicious. The salad was phenominal and the entree was very good. I would recomend this place especially for a romantic evening like an anniversary or Valantine's. Its quiet and intimate.

U.S.A. Based on the reviews and rating on tripadvisor, we went to Tiburon Fine Dining in Sandy, Utah. Yummo!!! We only hope we get to pass through here again in the future so we can eat there again. Their House Salad was delicious (and followed by a palate cleanser), as was the bread. We started by sharing a Scallop Appetizer and it was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection; they were expensive, but wonderful! My husband had Elk, which was superb. I had the Seared Ahi that was promised to be RARE. It was not only rare, it was very high quality...and the preparation was awesomelicious! Each of our plates were filled with tasty additions.

For my 60th birthday, my husband and dined at Tiburon. FABULOUS food. I ordered the special tenderloin with port wine reduction and blue cheese brie and it was perfectly prepared MED as I ordered it. Could not have improved on the flavor or presentation. My husband ordered the AHI tuna and it also was perfectly prepared. The garlic mashed potatoes, the sweet potato mash, the vegetables were all very tasty. And the creme brulee at the end was as soft and sweet as could be. Our dining experience was just wonderful. I have had steaks at Ruth's Chris, Spencer's and Flemming's and this was equal or better to any of them. What I especially liked about dining at Tiburon was that the meal included the bread, the very wonderful tasty salad with house vinaigrette, sorbet, and the entree. Our dinners ranged from $35-37 dollars. That is a great deal to include all. Cannot wait to return to this restaurant.

Tiburon is one of those pricey restaurants where you still feel like you've gotten your money's worth. I've been twice now, and the food has been excellent both times. The elk and lamb are especially good choices. I haven't eaten outside yet, but the patio looks like a good option on a nice night.
