It's fresh and hot and cooked to order right in front of your eyes, but all the showiness in the world doesn't disguise the fact that the chicken quality here is SO NASTY! It's dark meat and very fatty and just gross. Why no have an all white meat chicken breast option? For that, I'd gladly pay more. The flavor is good and for a food court meal, you could do a lot worse. The plates all come with rice or noodles but if you ask nicely, they will sub in veggies (mostly cabbage) for a low carb alternative.

This place is great! Been coming here for years. Surprised nobody has left a review after all of this time? What keeps me coming back is that they give free chicken samples on a toothpick as you walk buy in the mall. I am adding a picture to show you how awesome the chicken teriyaki is as tastes. :-) If you are even in the South Towne mall in Sandy you will not be disappointed. The flavor is better than a high priced Japanese restaurant.

Coming off a 20 plus year residency in the great state of California, I was surprised to see this place pop up on Yelp in Sandy, Utah!! Yes, I know it's a chain, I just wasn't expecting it, which was a cool surprise (kinda like finding a $5.00 bill balled up in your pants when doing your laundry). Even better, was the fact that it was in the mall across the street from my hotel!! I walked in, and made it right up the the counter, which was a little concerning since the Sarku I was used to visiting ALWAYS has a line. I placed my order, which was the Chicken Teriyaki (I ordered extra meat), veggies, and fried rice. My order came out fast enough, and I decided to take a seat right there at the malls food court and eat. I was pleased to find that the chicken was perfect. It was delicious. The veggies were a little bland, but eating them with a bite of chicken cures this problem. My only complaint was the fried rice. It wasn't really fried rice. Fried rice has veggies, and usually a little egg in it, right? All the fried rice was in this dish was some white rice, with some teriyaki/soy sauce mixed in. Note to self: opt for steamed rice next time. Other than that, the meal was fast, cheap and pretty darn tasty.

I love the chicken with noodles, and will often split it with my mom. Those evil samples on toothpicks keep me coming back- and I know that's their plan... Diabolical... You can even get it with extra meat if you're really hungry, but I can never even finish just a normal order.

Let face it, this is a mall food court restaurant; not some gourmet Japanese place downtown. That being said, this place is hands down the best place to get food at South Towne mall.any different choices and combinations you can almost eat there every day. I've seen the quality and have definitely seen better but when I'm come here I'm not looking to be eating super healthy. It tastes delicious because it's almost always fresh cooked in front of you. There can be a line, though it's worth the wait! You will soon find out why these people wait.
