Awesome, locally owned bakery. We love Rich's Bagels and the friendly, kind staff. The owner lives in the neighborhood and puts the love of the neighborhood in the food! Our favorite is the breakfast sandwiches.

Awesome bagels and service. The asiago cheese bagel is my favorite. The plain and jalapeño cream cheese are delicious.

They are the only local bagel shop in the area, so for that, you gotta love 'em. However, I ate here once only, thus far, and am hesitant to go again. The bagels were fairly small and the staff seemed very confused when ordering eggs and cheese on bagel, they ended up overcharging us by about $6 and since the girl working appeared to only be 14, she was unable to sort out the issues and price discrepancy, even though she rang us up. About 10 minutes after we ordered, a young boy came up and asked us what we ordered, as if there was no record of it in existence. About 20 minutes later we got our food, which was very disappointing for the experience. The bagels were okay, not great and not terrible, but definitely were not worth the headache.

The bagels are delicious, and the cream cheese is bomb! But they seemed very understaffed, and the 2 employees that were there made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience. Really good food, really bad customer service.

Real, eastern-style boiled and baked bagels have chewy centers and show an attention to detail that all the bagel chains lack. If you want a soft, dinner roll bagel, don't come here.

The food is always great & the people are friendly. Great place for breakfast or a quick lunch. Love it.

Blueberry bagel with honey pecan cream cheese was delicious. Next time will be asiago cheese bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. Tried my sister-in-laws and it was tasty!! Hot chai to Keep me warm!

My hometown bagel place, and now that I live out of state, I CRAVE their jalapeño asiago bagels when I'm away. You won't find friendlier service or better bagels anywhere. I feel like a regular, even though I only visit twice a year. Nothing negative to say, unless you like soy milk (they don't have it). Highlights: Oatmeal, asiago bagels, turkey/gouda/cranberry sandwich.

First time here and I will be coming back. Asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese is amazing. The veggie has a wonderful flavor with crisp green and red peppers. Along with the Asiago bagel it adds a nice cheesy, salty contrast. So delicious!

Buy a dozen asiago cheese bagels and a couple of tubs of the jalapeno orange cream cheese. Do it. Now. What are you waiting for? Do I need to print and mail you a formal invitation? (Sorry for being bossy.) I hope you have a toaster. Slice those bagels I told you to buy and toast them on the non-cheese side. Your toaster doesn't have a bagel toaster option? No Toast-R-Oven? You need a toaster capable of toasting on one side. It's well worth the investment of approximately $25. Break down and buy one, you cheapskate! Remember, you're only as good as your tools. Take a great big dollup of that jalapeno orange cream cheese and spread it on the freshly toasted bagel (non-cheese side, of course). .If you ever wanted to know what they eat in heaven, this is it. The Old Testament called this "mana." I call it edible sex. All of the food groups are represented - dairy, grains, fruits and vegetables. I'm not sure meats are considered a food group and I believe it would be entirely inappropriate to add meat, however, these bagels work well for turkey samwiches. Bagels are made from scratch, they're mixed, proofed, boiled then baked. There's samwiches, banana bread, coffees, salads, etc. It's no Einstein's. That's a good thing!

Locally owned business with a nice well rounded menu for lunch and breakfast. Jalapeno orange cream cheese is amazing, even if you don't think you like jalapenos. I also like their salads and their quiche. The owners are cool, too.

I stopped at this Rich's Bagels after kick boxing class today to get a small bite to eat. I ordered a single cinnamon rasin bagel with plain cream cheese and an orange juice. I was disappointed that they didn't offer any fresh squeezed juice so I settled for Minute Maid. The bagel with cream cheese was over $2.50 and with the orange juice my bill was almost $6! I realize bagel places have gotten more expensive, just like most other restaurants, but that price seemed ridiculous to me. In fact, everything on the menu was expensive! To add further insult to injury the bagel wasn't very good. First of all the bagel was very small, especially when compared to the rather large bagels at Einstein's--yeah I know that Einstein's bagels are steamed and not boiled, so they aren't real bagels, but whatever, the bagels at Rich's could stand for some improvement. Now I would be remiss to mention that today was not my first experience at Rich's Bagels. I've also eaten at the Rich's in Holladay several times. After picking up something from this Rich's today I remembered why I didn't like Rich's and had stopped going there. The one redeeming quality of Rich's was the cute and very personable girl who took my order. She was great and definitely deserved a gold star for excellent customer service. It's just too bad she couldn't be serving some better bagels. ;P

The service here is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful and patient. The food is just okay. I've tried their egg salad bagel sandwich twice and the first time it was phenomenal. The second time it tasted really, really rotten. I scraped all the egg salad off my bagel and just ate it plain. But it was bad. It's a little out of the way for me, but sometimes we get stuck over by ShopKo and find ourselves starving (and by we I mean me and my 4 year old.) So we go to Rich's Bagels. And it's okay. But just okay.

If you're not a regular, expect poor customer service. I gave these guys several chances last year, went every morning at the exact same time & ordered the exact same thing for weeks. I still never fell into that 'we're happy to see you crowd', so I stopped going. I thought I'd give them one more chance & found that things still haven't changed. They act as if you're some sort of burden - short & snappy when they took my order, and then instead of bringing it to me - tossed it on the counter when it was done & said "there's your stuff". Even if you can get past the customer service, the bagels are sub-par, Schmidt's Pastry right across the street has better bagels.

Rich's Asiago Cheese Bagel Five Stars Others Cranberry and Blueberry 4 stars Cream Cheese are great. Over all 4 1/2 stars. Still the best in Utah.
(5)Drew D.
They really do need to make 1/2 stars on this site, but my pet peeves aside..... Rich's is a wonderful bagel place. Probably one of the best in the SLC area. The fact that they even offer hummus is validation for their superior establishment. Sadly their location is fairly crappy because they are off a small road with lots of traffic. Great for business meetings if you're around their location. Stick to the bagels though.

Ahh...the scent of Rich's Asiago Cheese Bagel takes me back to my high school days. These things are devilishly good....be sure to toast them, and add cream cheese or hummus. Pure heaven. Rich's has a fantastic array of bagels and cream cheese, and they also served soups and salads at lunch. Coffee is decent, and the atmosphere is quite nice. Great spot for a quick breakfast or lunch, or to grab a dozen bagels for the office.

I don't know what Anna is taking about, but by my second trip into Rich's I was not only greeted like a regular, but treated like a close friend or long lost relative. That aside, the bagels are just OK. Having grown up next to two popular bagel spots in the Boston area, Rosenfeld's and Goldstein's, I consider myself a bagel connoisseur with high standards. Rich's bagels just aren't that big. They do have great cream cheeses though. My final comment: rename it Rich's Bagels and Cookies, because wowzaa the XL coconut chocolate chip cookie was out of control delicious.

I concur with the asiago bagel sentiment and the veggie cream cheese is the best I've ever had..and I used to work at a bagel place back in high school so I know good and bad cream cheese. GO THERE. SO GOOD.
